2. George Herbert Walker Bush and George Walker Bush Essay
Like Father Like Son George Herbert Walker Bush and George Walker Bush
Although all individuals are unique no matter how closely related they might be, sometimes their
similarities over shadow their differences, and yield a very interesting combination of events that
almost have a deja vu effect on its audience. The Bush family serves as the perfect illustration for
this phenomenon. From their family history and business life, to their life as the Presidents of the
United States, Bush Senior and Junior have led quite parallel lives. The thesis seems to be more
complex than this.

In the wake of liberalization, many international business houses, attracted by the sheer volume of
over
250 million buyers have flooded the Indian market. Tax Policy is moderate and employment laws
are proemployee with slow reforms. The trade barriers are very low and Foreign Direct Investment

Economic Factors
Coffee Production in India: India is the 6th largest coffee producer in the world, with the southern
states of
Karnataka and Kerala accounting for 91% of the production. Both varieties of coffee beans Arabica

6. The Current Practices Of The Textbook Industry Drive Up...
Textbooks are getting more expensive as the years go by, publishers add extra materials to raise
prices, and new editions are published frequently, often with little to no real content change.
These problems are even worse today, as the cost of books keeps rising to the point where some
students will decline to take a class due to the cost of the material. A 2004 study by the California
Student Public Interest Research Group (CALPIRG) along with the Oregon Student Public Interest
Research Group (OSPIRG), called Ripoff 101: How the current practices of the textbookindustry
drive up the cost of college textbooks, confirmed this problem. A survey polling the most widely
assigned textbooks at 10 public universities in California and Oregon, and interviews were done
with 156 faculty members and 521 students on the cost of textbooks and purchasing habits.
(Fairchild 4). Despite the rising costs of printing and shipping due to inflation, publishers are
artificially causing the cost of textbooks to rise to line their own pockets with profit and it will
harm lower to middle income students education. Textbook prices have been on the rise since
the late 1970s. A book that would have cost 25 dollars in 1978 had risen in cost to 208 dollars in
2013, an increase of 812 percent (Follett 1), and with an 82 percent increase between the years of
2002 and 2013 (Sennack 6). This is a higher increase in the price percentage wise than medical care,

Every year a familiar scene plays out in clinic waiting rooms, chairs filled with miserable patients
waiting to see their physician with complaints of a never ending cough and a constant nasal drip.
More than likely, these patients will receive a prescription for antibiotics, but should they? Most
acute respiratory tract infections (ARTIs), do not require an antibiotic, the symptoms will resolve
themselves over time without antibiotic treatment. Healthcare experts and scientists have warned
the public about the dangers of overusing antibiotics, and there are thousands of studies to support
that fact, but no one is listening. Patients are convinced they need to have antibiotic treatment, and

The authors of the study are confident that their quality improvement approach can be successfully
replicated in other family practice clinics. The methods used by the project could be easily

Hawthorne Effect. The Hawthorne Effect or an observer effect acknowledges that both physicians
and patients were fully aware they were participating in a quality improvement project. The project
would have been more efficient if the participants were unaware they were being evaluated. When
individuals believe they are not being observed the results tend to be more trustworthy. Ultimately,
the project proved its hypothesis and educated individuals about the risks of overusing antibiotics.

9. Facebook Advertising
DBI : Synopsis. In the last couple of years, Facebook, founded in 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg, has
gone from a college photo sharing site to a burgeoning business networking platform for self
promotion, advertising and multimedia interaction. With new apps and add ons, Facebook users
can send each other a virtual drink, create and host events, advertise their businesses through social
ads, and more. When Charlie Gibson hosted the debate for the 2008 presidential candidates along
with Facebook, the little networking site became a powerhouse in the online marketing
community. But will Facebook ever drive the Business of advertising ? How can Facebook Ads

Facebook s algorithms also pick up on behaviors from user fanning and groups a user joins. So
Facebook s advertising is like catnip for marketers. It allows marketers to reach a highly targeted
demographic efficiently and cheaply. That s we can call Geomarketing and this one provides
several advantages for advertisers because Facebook users are spending more time on the
network than ever (5.75 hours per month) and they have passed the 500 million mark for active
users. Nevertheless, the strategy of Facebook meets also some problems with advertising and
needs to be improved. The first one is that Facebook does not touch old people and especially
resistants to new technologies. So Facebook is still behind Google Adwords concerning this point.
Then, the advertisers can pay for many false clicks. Indeed there is a big difference between the
number of clicks on your Facebook and visits on ads. The ads on Facebook are not targeted as
effectively as Google Adwords. You can not choose to appear for highly targeted keywords (eg
buying software ). The several changes in design of the Facebook page can impair and influence
the visibility of the ads. Some surveys show that visitors from Facebook are less good that the
visitors from Google Adwords: Less page views / visits (1.58 / 2, 19) Less time spent on the page:

10. The Barriers That Limit Further Integration Of Icts
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
3.1INTRODUCTION
In the previous chapter, a summary of literatures related to this study has been given. This chapter
will discuss the methods that would be adopted in order to achieve the aim of this research study.
The aim of this research study is to explore the barriers that limit further integration of ICTs in
Nigerian secondary schools and steps that can be taken to limit the barriers.
To achieve the aim of this research, survey questionnaires were sent out to 250 teachers (public and
private) and also to 150 students. Asides sending questionnaires to the teachers, semi structured
interview was conducted to four (4) teachers to gather more information.
In addition, this chapter also discusses survey methodology, ... Show more content on

Quantitative research methods usually contain numbers, proportion and statistics. One of the
methods known to be quantitative method is the use of questionnaires to implement research and
collect data.
In this research, hard copies of questionnaires were shared amongst teachers in several private and
public secondary schools. These schools were chosen randomly and are all located at the western
part of Nigeria. The questionnaires were filled at instance and were collected immediately. Although
in some secondary schools, collection of the questionnaires was delayed for a maximum of two
days. The questionnaire includes yes/no questions as well as multiple choice questions.
Like in any research, there are advantages and disadvantages. The advantage was that, there were a
good numbers of respondents. However, according to Collis and Hussey (2009), the larger the
sample, the better it represents the population. Due to the crisis I Nigeria as at the time this
research was conducted, the total number of respondents was 200 teachers as compared to the
initial target of 600 teachers, which is categorized as the disadvantage or challenge encountered
during the research.
Asides the teacher s involvement, couple of students from the randomly selected secondary schools
also took part in the completion of the survey.

The United States of America is based on freedom: freedom of beliefs (religious or otherwise),
practice, speech, etc. Yet, not all people in the United States feel they are completely free. These
people feel they are stranded in a certain social class without means of escape. By definition of
Webster s New Twentieth Century Dictionary of the English Language, class is a group of people
considered as a unit according to economic, occupational, or social status; especially a social rank
or caste; as the working class, the middle class (334). Educational opportunity in the United States

As mentioned above, Tehachapi High School is a California Distinguished School and as well

improving school that exemplifies all the challenges of urban education (Landsberg 7). These
challenges define the type of social class that the students are a part of and the challenges
include: violence, unavailability of textbooks or materials, home violence, etc. Due to the
challenges that the students in this community face, they have less educational opportunities.
When plagued with the thought of your safety or doing well on a quiz, a person is more likely
to put more thought into their safety. On the first day of class at Jefferson High School some
people worried about their safety. at 10:30 a.m., a man with an AK 47 was spotted firing shots a
half block from campus (Landsberg 9). The students do not have the opportunity to solely focus on
their education because events are happening around them that understandably make school and
education seem not as important. In another school, La Canada High School, the situation is
different. At La Canada High School, violence is scarcely a concern (Landsberg 9). The parents of
the students at La Canada High School are more well off financially. For example, Kyle, a student

12. The Marketing Strategy Of The Coca Cola
The Coca Cola Company is one of the largest in the world and the Coke logo is one of the most
widely recognized icons in the world. The company used many different marketing campaigns
in the years since the company has been created, some being more successful than others. Two
such commercials, the Hilltop commercial and the Taylor Swift commercial, both differ in the
approaches but are still both successful in their approaches. The first was first aired in nineteen
seventy one while the second was first aired in twenty fourteen. I think that the Taylor Swift
commercial is more successful than the Hilltop commercial because it better addresses its more
specific audience. The Hilltop commercial s strategy is to sell the brand of Coca Cola to the
world. The commercial starts of showing just the face of a young, blonde woman singing. The
camera begins to pan out, revealing that there are multiple people all on the top of a lush
hillside. They all join in the singing as the camera pans over more and more people of different
racial and cultural backgrounds, each holding a Coke bottle in their right hand. The Coke bottles
all have labels written in different languages. They all sing, I d like to buy the world a Coke, and
keep it company, and It s the real thing. As they continue singing, the camera zooms out showing
about two hundred young people on the hillside arranged like a chorus. The purpose of this
commercial is to sell the Coca Cola brand, rather than a specific

Introduction
This paper is targeted at Christians struggling in difficult seasons, wondering if God cares for me .
So, this writer will be using the difference or similarities from historical to contemporary situation,
reflecting OT message. With the aim to enable application of this principle into present day lives.
The key concept is, God s faithful love and promise.
Body
Hence, let us examine the Bible, their writings and contents. To shed light to struggling Christians.
Them meaning ancient Israelites .
OT is a collection of 39 Books, with testimonials revealing God; His activities ; experiences and
encounters with God . So Bible is not just a book . It was written with purpose to reveal and testify
to One and only God. Who is alive, active and everlasting . Also reveals that He is faithful to His
word, purpose and character . What He says stands and will come to pass .
Allow me to elaborate this further. OT begins by revealing God. The Creator of heavens, earth and
every living beings , desiring to bless and have relationship. God s nature is demonstrated, as He
interacts with creation (loving, graceful, faithful, and patient ). Although sin entered the world,
bringing death and severing the relationship . His unfailing love remains and will not be removed .
History shows that God continues with His plan. God chooses Abraham, to bless all nations
through him and his Seed . As they multiplied, covenantal promises were given through Moses. To

The Epic of Gilgamesh and the 12 Labors of Herakles are hero myths that have obvious and

16. Tacitus s Influence On The Roman Empire
Tacitus talks about the influence of Agrippina the younger as a sign of weakness of the principate
representing Claudius and Nero as her pawn. Her position of power as a female to this day is
unmatched; known as the granddaughter, daughter, sister, wife, and mother of men. ( Tacitus)
Agrippina, an Imperial woman of the Julio Claudian bloodline a female Caesar lived through all
five of the Julio Claudian emperors Augustus, Tiberius, Caligula, Claudius, and Nero. Agrippina the
younger roles in the empire is recognized but is not credited for the influence she had in shaping
the Roman Empirefrom the time of Claudius to the beginning of Nero s reign. Tacitus is writing
is from the perspective of an old Roman Senator providing the accounts of Agrippina life in
power from a male point of view. His accounts of her life portray her as a vindictive, scandalous
female who has stepped above her station. (Tacitus) Suetonius another old Roman Senator
accounts would agree with Tacitus in regards to Agrippina s outrageous behavior. However, it can
be argued that she was an emperor while she is not given credit her influence played a huge part in
affecting the direction of the Empire and Roman society especially when it comes to women in a
position of power.

Claudian reign. Agrippina the younger bloodline is strong as a descendant of Augustus and

In a few decades, the relationship between the environment, resources, and conflict may seem

of beginning to build an oil pipeline that would stretch close to 2,000 miles from Alberta, Canada

The U.S. uses nearly 400 million gallons of oil every day moving people in automobiles, goods
on freight trucks, air travel, also rail and transit. Cars and everyday trucks use nine million barrels
of oil per day alone (Sierra Club Foundation). Oil poses major environmental problems, and the
world s heavy reliance on it for transportation makes it difficult to reduce consumption. Spilled oil
can harm living things because its chemical components are poisonous. This can affect organisms
both from internal exposure to oil through ingestion or inhalation and from external exposure
through skin and eye irritation. Oil can also smother some small species of fish or invertebrates
and coat feathers and fur, reducing birds and mammals ability to maintain their body temperatures.
The short term threat from heavy oils, like tar sand oil, comes from their ability to smother
organisms whereas over the long term, some long lasting health effects like tumors may result in
some organisms (Office of Response and Restoration). If animals like birds and otters become
drenched in heavy oil, they lose the ability to keep themselves warm and eventually die. The

Many individuals have had an influence on the United States and globally, both in the positive and
negative sense. One example of a positive influencer on the world was Emma Goldman. She faced
injustice from an early age, which contributed to her interest and eventual involvement in political
and radical movements. Growing up Jewish in an anti Semitic country, Goldman and her family
experienced oppression and discrimination firsthand. Goldman often had heroines that she looked
up to as a child whom also sparked her motivation to make a change ( The Emma Goldman Papers

Her continuous resistance and determination eventually led to an increased acceptance of free

her impact. Many other activists in continents such as Asia, Europe, and South America were
inspired by her fight for social justice, including her anarchist and feminist ideals. Furthermore,
her time spent in countries such as Russia and France allowed her to speak out directly to the
citizens and government there. In all, thanks to Emma Goldman s perseverance in regards to
reforms, her positive influence was strongly felt both in the United States as well as globally.
Next, Emma Goldman influenced many aspects of politics and society in America through
reforms. She touched on a variety of topics and issues that even other anarchists and leftists
deemed too radical to focus on. As previously stated, Goldman fought for women s rights and free
speech, as well as against war. Yet this was not all that she advocated for. For example, Goldman
became heavily involved in the fight for better workers rights shortly after coming to America and
realizing the poor quality of the working conditions and the mistreatment of workers. Similarly to
how she found contradiction in America s promise of freedom of speech and simultaneous silencing
of anyone speaking against the government and system of the country, she also

Abstract This Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANETs) consists of of a set of nodes linked by wi fi
hyperlinks. Trust based redirecting has much attention as an efficient way to enhance protection
of Mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). The Network is ad hoc because it does not depend on pre
existing facilities, such as wi fi routers in wired networks. Routing in MANETs is a challenging
process due to powerful topology and mistake vulnerable shared atmosphere. Data is sent between
nodes in a MANET by browsing through advanced nodes, which must make choices about where
and how to path the information. MANETs encounters several problems because of node
flexibility, Jamming, network size, and the chance of node mistakes. The efficiency and behavior
of a MANET relies on how well information can be approved around and provided. In the present

31. Because I Could Not Stop For Death Housman Analysis
Death is quite scary thought isn t it? After all, it is a subject many people don t like to talk
about. We all fear death in some ways, such as losing a loved one, not knowing if they re still
happy and even not knowing what might come after death. Regardless of how we all feel on such
a sad matter, it is truly inevitable and we must all accept it. If we begin to look at deathin a more
beautiful way and not so sinister, we can have a better understanding. In the two poems, Because
I Could Not Stop For Death by Emily Dickinson s and To An Athlete Dying Young by A.E.
Housman while the theme differs, they are much alike in some ways. Emily Dickinson s poem,
Because I Could Not Stop For Death gives me a sense of peace when it comes to death. The
theme portrays death as a easy, peaceful ride when one passes away. The overall metaphor here
is comparing death to a carriage ride. She describes death as a calm person, and she seemed to
trust him as he took her through the town to her death, It felt like she was getting one last ride to

that an athlete well known throughout a seemingly small town passed out. Any one that is a

worse than cheers makes me feel a connection to a person i don t even know, I can imagine the
crowd cheering on the person and how quiet it must be the day he or she dies. Another line from
the poem says it withers quicker than the rose this is metaphor for how the cheerfulness of the
town withered away after such a great loss. The overall theme is very heartbreaking, the complete
opposite of how I felt reading Emily Dickinson s poem. Reading this I really felt like I was a part of
the town that lost such a young

Chinatown Critique Essay The film Chinatown (1974), falls under the category of Film Noir
Style. The film s basis its plot on corruption scandals, which shed light on dark secrets and very
unfortunate events around the Cross Family, Evelyn Cross and her Father and John Cross (John

Nicholson). The central of the plot is a charge of conspiracy of the corruption between,
politicians, Mr. Cross, and the police department corruption, that started in the less hopeless
Chinatown, and now has ramifications in every sphere of L.A city. The history of the plot comes
from a real life event, The 1908 Owned River scandal and the administration of the department of
water during this scandal. The film started with Gitte, hired as a private investigator by a socialite
beauty Faye Dunaway, to investigate her husband Hollis (a chief engineer), played by Darrel
Zwerling. The mise en scene and the film are elaborated and directed by Roman Polansky (director)
and Robert Towne (screenplay). In cinematography, one of the more important elements is the mise
en scene. Due to the fact, that it keeps the audience emotional and psychological involve in the plot.
As can be appreciated in Chinatown (Polansky, 1974), in this plot Polansky utilized several
elements to create in the audience a double crosser twist, through the corruption and immoral
activities portrayed during the film. In general, the motion

To a large extent, it is better to live our lives spontaneously. This essay will evaluate with points
of Mencius and Daoism. This has been an argumentative notion for a long time that how should
we live our lives, whether we should follow the flow, or to make changes by ourselves. Actually,
we have to understand that sometimes, it is not that easy to make any changes or force ourselves
to correct things. What we could do is only to act by following our feelings. For example,
Swimmers tread water by following the dao of water but not acting on their behalf. They just

A recurring idea called Gnostism is an example of flawed theology which can be exposed by the
Creation story. The Gnostics claimed that the one true God is too high and pure to be
contaminated by our lower, physical reality. . . Thus, when Gnostics read the Old Testament, they
concluded that the God presented there must be an inferior god. (Wittmer) The story of Creation
reminds Christians of how the world should be, well and good, and can help to paint a clearer
picture of what the restored earth will be like. The Gnostic ideas are valid only if God created an
imperfect world. Christians know, because of the Creation story, that God created a perfect world.
Christianity, like its parent faith, Judaism, embraced what he [N. T. Wright] and others called
creational monotheism. They affirmed the goodness of creation and of God s continual activity
within creation. Thus, for them, salvation was not a matter of being delivered from the material
world to a state of disembodied bliss, but instead, a restoration of God s intended order for the
creation. (Stonestreet. 2014) Thus, the claim that an inferior god made a tainted creation is false,
because the Creation was perfect, and God is the highest being. Because of the Creation story,
Christians can recognize Gnostic ideas as flawed theology, affirming the story of Creation as a
fundamental base for the Christian

prayers. The reason I decided to choose an Islamic practice for this project was in part because
of the recent increase in Islamophobia both in the States and in Canada. I was also very interested
to maybe observe some of the differences and similarities in Islamic practices compared to
Christian practices as I have grown up in a very traditional Christian (Pentecostal) household and
have never really had the opportunity to experience, first hand, a religious ceremony foreign to my
own. Additionally, when going to the mosque for this ritual, I had my best friend, Kimia, come
with me as she grew up in a Muslim household and has attended mosque... Show more content on

Regarding performativity, the first thing in this ritual that I both observed and had to take part
in was the wearing of the scarf over my head. This could be seen as a costume required by this
ritual which was followed by only the women. There were also specific musical cues spoken that
indicated what position had to be assumed and when. In terms of performativity, this could
possibly be referred to as a performative speech act if the words have the power to change
something in the current state. There was almost a role that was taken on by all the people
engaging in the ritual. As soon as they walked in the room, and even after the ritual was over, there
was a sense of solemnness and reverence that people exhibited while in that space. When it comes
to liminality, this whole ritual exhibited a process that could be categorized under the three stages
of liminality; separation, transition and incorporation. From the very beginning the ritual began
with two distinct forms of separation. As we entered the building we were separating ourselves
from society and entering a space in which people of a shared community came to participate in
a ritual. Not only were we separated from society by entering the building, but we were also
separated from the men that were a part of this ritual. Additionally, this stage of separation was
also seen and experienced physically through the process of putting on the scarf on our heads.
This scarf magnified the weight of the separation of sexes because now there was a tangible
marker of what we signified in this process. While the men resided in a larger room, the women
were kept in a much smaller room in the back. The process of transition is a bit harder to solidify
because there does not seem to be a set point in the ritual where a profound change occurs, but
rather the process of the movements itself works together as part of

42. Living Daylights Setting
Throughout the movie, The Living Daylights, setting is very prominent in each scene. Different
types of settings are used to create a world that strongly influences a character s thoughts and
actions. Each location in the movie affects how the characters will face the conflict. Every setting
holds certain circumstances that will persuade the characters to handle the situation differently. For
example, James Bond and Kara Milvoy have seemingly instant chemistry, however this could be
handled in different ways depending on the setting. After crossing the border into Austria, Bond and
Milvoy grab a horse drawn carriage to transport them to an elegant hotel. The moment they stepped
foot on the carriage, the romance began to grow between the two but still remaining subtle. The...

They proceed to enter a famous hotel where every inch is lined with sparkling gold and
carefully, patterned furniture. The aura given off by the hotel instantly captures Milvoy because
a smile spreads across her face and she seems to feel a sense of love and devotion. However,
knowing Bond he did not show a reaction to the slight change. Continuing on to the next setting,
the carnival also creates a charming scene. At the carnival an ink black sky hovers over the
vibrant flashing lights from the carnival attractions. The lights are a vital point to the romantic
setting. At first they light up the scene and make it very joyous. Noises of elated people
congregating on the carnival grounds can be heard and entertaining games are seen in the
background. This setting makes Milvoy overload with happiness because the scene radiates a
positive attitude. When the camera pans over the famous ferris wheel, immediately the setting
begins to change over to romance. Once Bond and Milvoy enter the ferris wheel, romance fully
takes over the previous

43. Blue Rainmaker Descriptive
The way I thought Stormfront (aka blue Rainmaker) was that he s p much the Rainmaker that
stays away while Cloudburst (neon yellow Rainmaker) is more inclined to come along when
Acid Storm meets Moonracer And one time when they ve already met multuple times and they
re just kinda sitting on top of a high building, Stormfront flies over them and circles a bit and
then lands And he s kinda stiff and quietly just kinda stands there all watchful for a while and
when Moonracer waves her fingers at him he says hello (his voice is surprisingly soft) but only
walks over and sits down on Acid Storm s other side after waiting a while longer And he kinda
puts his hands between his knees, basically sits in a kinda closed off manner But once he feels
