2. Assistive Technology for Computing Essay
Assistive Technology for Computing
One thing that programmers generally don t take into account when they re typing out code is
How accessible is my program or website going to be for someone who s impaired in some way?
Unfortunately, this has become a problem in our society which many people are hoping to fix.
Already, there s a huge assortment of products software, hardware, accessories, etc. to
accommodate those with impairments or disabilities of every sort. Here, we will see the technology
in current use that is making computing more universal.
Why Do We Need AssistiveTechnology?
If you can imagine being an impaired person trying to use a computer, you might imagine that life
could become very difficult. People with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For this, there needs to be some alternate means of typing, and selecting files via the mouse cursor.
Overall, it s imperative to people with disabilities, whom are using computers, to have these issues
addressed so that there may be adequate technology allowing them to further communicate with the
rest of the world.
What Is Assistive Technology
Assistive technology (or adaptive technology) is specialized hardware and software applications
that enable [disabled] individuals to use a computer. ( Hyatt, Glenda Watson, pg. 5) It s a pretty
simple theory as to what assistive technology actually is, however what goes into actually
accommodating someone with disabilities is a rather complicated process. There are many
problems, one important one being the need of equipment that can be mounted on a wheelchair.
Aside from these problems, there are currently products out which can help PWD s use their
computers.
Products Available Today
When looking at assistive technology, there are four different categories for usage by people
with different disabilities: Screen readers, Refreshable Braille Displays, Screen Magnifiers, and
Voice Recognition Applications. (Hyatt, 5) There is currently a myriad of different products
available to satisfy each of these categories. Also, there are a few different products for people with
other types of disabilities as well.
First there are products like screen readers, and screen magnifiers. Two of the types of screen

3. “The Lost Boy”
The fictional life and death of a twelve year old little boy named Robert is vividly articulated in
this moving tale by Thomas Wolfe. The reader learns of the boy s life through four well
developed points of view. The reader s first glimpse into Robert s character is expressed through a
third person narrative. This section takes place on a particularly important afternoon in the boys life.
The second and third views are memories of the child, through the eyes of his mother and sister.
His mother paints the picture of an extraordinary child whom she loved dearly and his sister
illustrates the love that the boy had for others. Finally, an account from the narrator is given in the
ending. It is in the last section of this work that the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When he enters his dad s business he tells him exactly what had transpired at the candy store.
Robert s enraged father corrects the situation with the store owner in a rather harsh manner, saying
many hurtful things to the clerk. The day s events seem to leave a lasting impression on the youth.
He only knew that something had been gained forever something lost. (2007)
In the second and third portions of the saga the boy s mother and sister recall personal memories
of the deceased. The narrator is established as Robert s younger brother in these sections, as well.
The mother in this story unapologetically minimizes the narrator s abilities while exalting Robert.
It is not hard to see that Robert is their mother s favorite child. The proud mother gushes about
the boy s ability to stretch a dollar and his unnatural intellect. She goes so far as to tell a reporter
inquiring about the narrator s brilliance, that the narrator was not the most intelligent child she
had given birth to The best one of the whole lot was Robert! (2010) The boys sister seems to
share her mother s adoration for Robert and can t quite grasp the narrators inability to remember
their beloved. She also, reiterates that Robert was her mother s favorite child you know he
always was her eyeballs... (2014). In expressing to the narrator her memories of a past life where
Robert was alive and well the sister reveals her own inability to distinguish the past

5. Facts About Organ Donation and Organ Transplantation Essay
In life, there is one thing that is inevitable and unavoidable. The subject is often avoided because
of fear. Death is universal. Every day eighteen people will die in the United States of America
waiting for an organ transplant. Organ Transplantation involves the giving of a healthy body part
from either a living or dead individual to another person. (Fundukian, Organ, p674 678) Medical
illnesses do not discriminate. It doesn t matter about wealth, race, religion, or even age. The types
of illnesses causing and leading to organ failure are heart disease, cirrhosis, cystic fibrosis, diabetes,
hepatitis, kidney disease, and hypertension. Currently medical professionals are able to transplant

The transplant team complied of coordinators, transplant physicians, transplant surgeons, financial
coordinators, and social workers. Coordinators aid patients with evaluation, treatment and follow up
care. Physicians usually manage the patient s care, test, and medications. Some physician
coordinate up until the transplant and even some times post transplant. Surgeons are the ones who
actually perform the surgery and follow up care for some time after the surgery. Financial
coordinators of course aid patients in the understanding of financial matters. Finally, social workers
help patients understand and cope with issues pertaining. Besides the above groups, United
Network Organ Sharing and Organ Procurement Transplantation Network are essential in organ
transplantation. These organizations make it possible. UNOS created efficient distribution system
of deceased organs that allow for fair and timely allocation, formulated a patient waiting list, and
set up a system to publicize the need for organ donations. With UNOS, the Organ Procurement and

organ donations. They assist in the evaluation of organs, their likelihood of medical use, and if
organs are usable, recovery, preservation and transport. Here in Philadelphia, we have the Gift of

6. Foundations of Political Thought Essays
Aristotle and Socrates and Plato s beliefs have similarities mainly evident in their denouncement
of democracy for the state. The views of Socrates expressed and written by his pupil Plato are
vastly philosophical in nature and he promotes the idea of questioning life to achieve insight. The
philosophers who possess the absolute truth are the best equipped to rule society according to Plato
and his Allegory of the Cave. Conversely, Aristotletakes a more political scienceapproach of
discussing and analyzing various constitutions to determine the best form of government, where the
rational beings in a society are the natural rulers. Aristotle promotes the idea of rule based on law
rather than simple superiority. The differences in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Politics, 83)
Through this view, Aristotle expresses his distrust of a total democracy that is parallel to the ideas
of his mentors. Plato attacks democracy and describes the disbursement of political freedom to the
masses as an intoxication of wine, claiming that a democratic city gets drunk on too much unmixed
freedom (The Republic, 220). Plato details the filtration of this drunkenness from society
disobeying rulers trickling down to the son disrespecting the father and eventually equal rights in
relations between the sexes (The Republic, 221). Plato and Aristotle share this skepticism of
democracy.
The limitation of freedom, liberty, and equality not only with regards to mistrust of democracy
but also in terms of denial of citizenship and justification of slavery are commonalities in the
teachings of Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle. Plato accepts slavery throughout The Republic,
because he often deems whole groups of people unworthy of freedom. Aristotle s justifies slavery
through the characteristic of rationality; he claims that there is a condition of natural slavery
where when one being is rational and the other is not, there is a natural master slave relationship
(Politics, 2). For if something is capable of rational foresight, it is a natural ruler and master,
whereas whatever can use its body to labor is ruled and is a natural slave

Thousands of students are gifted who are looking for a better education to suit their learning
needs. Magnet schools are the solution to this problem. Magnet schools are academically
selective public schools which can teach students on a particular focus such as math and science,
but can improve by providing students an enhanced learning experience by changing the modern
day classroom. Just by changing how the modern day classroom runs, students can learn more
efficiently and be more likely to behave and be more successful in life. Magnet schools are
public schools with specialized curriculums and classes. The magnet in magnet school refers to
bringing students across the normal boundaries given by officials ( A Brief History of Magnet
Schools ). Most magnet schools in America are academically selective ( Magnet School
Wikipedia). They usually have a narrow focus such as math and science opposed to regular public
schools that have a more generalized focus. Other than providing gifted students a more
academically in depth education, magnet schools are also built to avoid racial discrimination in
some areas of the nation. Applications are usually required to get into magnet schools and
programs. They sometimes require an entrance examination, interview, or audition. A few magnet
schools use the lottery system where the applicants are chosen at random. The major keys magnet
schools look at when applying is race, for a diverse population, and academic achievements (

what may be the best method to identify the area. In research of areas that may appear to be the
hot spots in the city can vary depending on the area was researched. The variance in the research
would fall into the unit of analysis, scale of the map, and the amount of data mapped. Having said
that, moving forward I ll explain the four methods that I will attempt to identify, describe, providing
an example, indicate the relationship among them and lastly indicate which one would be best for
identifying the highest crime. Each research method will be introduced to the same question in this
process of (1) descriptive, (2) exploratory, (3) explanatory, and (4) quantitative research. These
research methods will provide an interactively to provide an understanding of the question
presented for the investigation ( Criminology and criminal justice research: methods, 2016). When
we apply the question, which area of the city has the most crime to the descriptive research? In the
research process, the first method should always be descriptive. The results of this research attempt

Lengel, sees them, he says, We wantyou decently dressed when you come in here, after this come
in here with your shoulders covered; it s our policy (Updike). Sammy believes Lengel s reaction
and tone is mean and disrespectful. He makes an immature decision and quits his job. This type
of attitude from Lengel toward the girls portrays that they are living in a society that is much
different from today s culture. In this time period, it was not normal to see woman dressed in
bathing suits in stores or other public places right in the middle of town; the girls dressing this
way was considered inappropriate and degrading. Sammy states, There are people in this town
who haven t seen the ocean in twenty years (Updike). During this time, women were expected to
behave and dress conservatively, experienced discrimination, had limited rights and many families
were living under the poverty line, relying on one another to survive. People had very low
incomes; making $1.15 per hour on the average ( Wage and Hour Division ). Sammy should not

12. Slaughterhouse Five, By Kurt Vonnegut
War is hell goes the commonly used phrase. While conducted with a purpose in mind, many believe
war to bring nothing but violence and death. In the history of mankind and combat, men have
committed many abominable acts against one another as a means to an end. The bombing of
Dresden, Germany, one of these loathsome deeds, while seldom mentioned and not widely known,
remains one of the deadliest air raids in history. Just as in all largely fatal events, the survivors
reflect upon the unbearable guilt and emotions they have experienced. Billy Pilgrim, the main
protagonist In Kurt Vonneguts novel Slaughterhouse Five, serves as Vonnegut s vehicle to
communicate his feelings and contemplations as a survivor. Throughout the story, Pilgrim, or
the reader encounters an animal that Vonnegut uses to convey the range of emotions and
incidents that humans are subject to as a result of war. In the novel, a mysterious dog resides

16. A Political Campaign Analysis
The political campaign environment in the United States changed in 2010 with the allowance of
unlimited independent expenditures by outside entities in elections. The courts decisions in
Citizens United and SpeechNow.org further increases Americans concerns regarding an undue
influence of money in politics. This, coupled with increasing polarization and congressional
gridlock in the U.S. House of Representatives, promotes skepticism of the political process.
Polarization and gridlock create perceptions that representatives do not represent the average voter
preferences but represent big moneyed interests (Briffault, 2011; Gilbert and Aiken, 2015) and
donors, who are more ideologically extreme than the average voter (Barber, 2014). Given... Show

Attenuation effect of caffein and/or nifedipine against selenite induced cataractogenesis
Abstract
Objectives: The current study was performed to investigate the anti cataractogenic effect of single
and combined treatment with caffeine and nifedipine in sodium selenite induced cataract.
Methods: Seventy five healthy albino Wistar rats were divided into 5 groups; the first group
received intraperitoneal injection of saline and served as control, 2nd group received a single
subcutaneous injection of 30 nmol/g body weights of sodium selenite to induce cataract. 3rd and
4th groups received 0.1 mg/kg of nifedipine and 5.15 Вµmoles of caffeine respectively, starting two
days prior to the administration of selenite and continuing such treatment till the end of experiment.
Last group got the combined treatments of nifedipine and caffeine in the same regimen. Animals
were decapitated after 5, 15 and 25 days of the experiment.
Results: The results indicated a very highly significant decrease (PЛ‚0.001) in total soluble lens
protein and Na+ K+ATPase activity, a very highly significant increase (PЛ‚0.001) in calcium lens
content in selenite cataract group. Also significant changes in the molecular weight and area under
peaks estimated in profile of electrophoretic mobility of lens proteins were found in selenite group.
All these changes reduced markedly in caffeine and nifedipine group.
Conclusions: nutrients with antioxidant capabilities can potentially delay against these changes such

Diamond is a giant covalent network structure, having each Carbon atom sharing electrons with
four other Carbon atoms, therefore having four single covalent bonds formed. These Carbon

point due to the fact that diamond is a covalent lattice, hence, melting this covalent lattice involves
breaking many strong covalent bonds. This melting process requires a large amount of energy and,
as a result, melting diamond requires a high temperature, approximately around 35500C. Having

It are these properties which allow graphite to be used to draw with (using a pencil), as the friction
against weak intermolecular forces on paper causes layers of graphite to rub off onto the paper. It
is this layered structure and the weak bonding between the sheets that determines the soft slippery
feel of graphite, thus, creating graphite s self lubricating property. Being used a lubricant, graphite
can be used at very high or low temperatures for many different works, such as: steelmaking, wire
die extrusion lubricant, gear lubricant for mining machinery and to lubricate locks. While natural
graphite can be used in zinc carbon batteries in electric motor brushes and other specific works.
From all of these uses, graphite also has the ability to conduct electricity, and we can the reason as

through their own Carbon layer, hence, making graphite a good conductor of electricity. Being a

I always heard growing up, Great things can emerge from small beginnings . My mom made sure
that my 4 sisters and I know that. Being a child of two ministers, my family has experience working
with small businesses and ministries, for our church was small. Unfortunately, things did not work
for our church, so we had shut down. My family then attended Family Christian Center (FCC) in
Munster, Indiana. FCC is a mega church with fancy lighting, a ginormous stage, and large screens.
The pastor of the church had great illustrated messages.
I attended Two52 Youth Culture, FCC s youth ministry. There I met Sade. Everyone enjoyed her
company she always had a positive attitude. She helped those dealing with depression, substance
abuse, dysfunctional households and financial hardships the same problems she went through as

22. The Word Plum And The Snowman By Wallace Stevens Perception
Poetry is subjected to many forms of interpretation as the meaning behind a piece deals a great
deal with one s own perception. When reading the two poems, The Word Plum by Helen Chasin
and The Snowman by Wallace Stevens perception is literally everything. The two poems though
vastly different in tone, style and topic share a commonality in the analyzation of existentialism
and how the passage of time plays a large role in somebody s outlook on life.
During a first read of Chasin s the word plum it becomes very apparent that more than just a plum
is being described here. The thinly veiled fruit references are both innuendos as well as
interesting commentary on the topic of the fleeting nature of pleasure in life. This underlying
theme is hinted at from even the poem s title in which Chasin talks about the word plum, but not
an actual plum. Words in language are used as something similar to a symbolic contract,
meaning that not only do words thrives on the idea of the object of discussion not being present
but also the promise that the representation of the object matches its word. So when Chasin
describes the word plum as delicious, she is really discussing the idea that the word plum
because of the idea that is projected on it, is just as delicious as the plum itself, which leads to an
even deeper meaning of how in order for things to be fleeting absence is just as valid as present.
However a plum is not present so the poem relies heavily on the reader s

Age has become a very important topic to be discussed as the world carries on. As people
become more knowledgeable and certain advancements in life occur, people are beginning to
realize that there indeed is a way to maximize your years and to have a meaningful life once one is
old. Studying age has become important in social behavior also. Each generation possesses its own
definition and witnessed some of the same events. Studies have come to regard generations, as
familial so on the true term for the different age groups is cohorts. Again, each cohort has a range

The major event that signifies how these people lived their lives begins with the stock market
crash in 1929. These were pretty dark times in America. At that time, not only were woman s rights
and minority rights at the forefront of life, but also white men had seen their wealth in jeopardy.
People tend to compare the Great Recession of the current day to the Great Depression caused by
the stock market crash but it really does not compare. The quality of life in those times was
barely scraping the surface of what was to come. People literally starved, were homeless, and
lost everything that they had worked for. To match the atrocities of the financial of the
American people, this cohort also seen the events that lead to World War II. Japan s invasions of
countries began in this era and Adolf Hitler came to power in Germany. Though these times cost
many American lives the effects on the economy were actually positive. This is possibly when
America first began to realize that it had the power to pretty much do as it pleased. So on,
America s world police mentality in general was amplified because of this period in time. Many
have analyzed this period in time as the consequences of abusing the swing era. People in the
swing era were careless with money and had complete confidence in America as a whole and their
lackadaisical ways left the Great Depression in its wake. (Kyvig, 2002) The people of the silent

To understand Dramatic Structure. The scaffolding on which playwright plots a tale to frame or
shape the action Mira Fellner, THINK theatre (Boston: Pearson, 2013), 51. While reading a play,
knowledge is applied in a critical perspective. Our mind tries to classify it in a coherent form into
one of the types of dramatic structures that have been studied by us. It should be possible now
to differentiate a climactic structure from a serial, episodic or circular one. Our goal is to
clarify the ideas presented in a play. For this, it is imperative to acknowledge that each play has
its own structure. Using the tools presented to us on Think theater we move on now from the
theory to the practice. We will be thoroughly working on the structural analysis of Amphitryon .

through writing this report and following the instructions.
The way of writing this report will be a bit different but not as hard be as the research background

experiment will help writing this report and come up with conclusions. However, something I might
found difficult is discussing the results and relating them to our daily life.

Introduction and Background
This is our first experiment of the semester, flow through packed beds columns (PBC) , and the
main purpose of this experiment is to measure the pressure drop, which was the gauge pressure not
the atmospheric pressure, using flow rate of a fluid. In our case, the fluid was water and its flow
was varied through out the experiment.
Pressure is a straightforward concept, it is the measure of a force excerted on a specific area3.
Atmospheric pressure is the pressure done by the force of air on a reference point, while the gauge

30. Western Film Conventions
The western film Shane (1953) was produced by director George Stephens and is based on the
original book Shane (1949) written by Jack Schaefer. The western genre has specific codes and
conventions that make it easy for an audience to recognise, such as; iconography (guns, horses, and
typical cowboy costume), frontier towns, ranchers and homesteaders, gamblers, bandits, vast open
lands and conquering virgin territory. Furthermore, westernfilms often include binary oppositions
such as; the individual versus the community, civilisation versus the wilderness, nature versus
culture, good versus bad etc. The filmShane incorporates all of these aspects well, making it a
recognisable and successful western film.
The opening scene makes quite clear many of the binary oppositions, although focuses primarily
on the individual and civilisation. The first glimpse we get of Shane is a lone cowboy riding
through a wide, empty valley ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fences, barriers and their destruction play a key role throughout the film and emphasise the
theme of freedom versus restriction that is present throughout. Again from the opening sequence,
we see the wooden fence surrounding the homestead put there in order to keep trespassers from
invading their land, their livestock from escaping or from desert animals coming in and
destroying their crops and livelihood, the river also provides a further barrier from these things.
Therefore the fence and river act as protection from individuals outside of their family community.
It may also be used to keep the community in; during the film it becomes obvious that little Joey
develops a huge friendship and admiration for Shane, who is not part of the community. This
could suggest that Joey wants to grow up and be like Shane and the fence therefore is to keep Joey
in and a part of the homesteader s

Human trafficking entails coercion or deception or both of another person for the intention of

for survival in terms of food and water. They have to submit to them and remain loyal lest they will

abused into obedience through confinement, forced drug use, violent threats, starvation, gang rapes,
and horrific beatings. Women and men of all nationalities are usually the abusers of these victims,

36. Analysis Of The Article Mixed Blood By Jeffrey Fish
In the United States it is not uncommon to hear the question, What are you? This seemingly
simple question stems from the American belief that individuals can be divided into different
biologically defined racial groups. However, anthropologists have long argued that U.S. racial
groups are a product of American cultural constructions, meaning that racial groups are not
genetically determined but only represent the way cultures (in this case Americans) classify
people. For example, in the U.S individuals are classified into different races based on their
heritage. However in Brazil, people are classified into a series of tipos based on their physical
appearance. In the article Mixed Blood , Jeffrey Fish supports the claim that raceis nothing more,
but a social construct by demonstrating the cultural basis of raceby comparing how races are
defined in the United Statesand Brazil. Anthropologists argue that race does not exist because it
is not a biological entity. The cornerstone of this basis is Fish s illustration that humans are a
species; therefore we cannot be genetically different. This means that people from anywhere on
earth can mate and produce fertile offspring. Using mitochondria we are able to trace the
migration of mankind by using genetic markers. This is based on the idea that both males and
females inherit mitochondrial DNA identical to their mother. By performing a general DNA

There seemed to be a widespread decline in the Eastern Gorilla species, they moved from the

Justifying The Qualities of Characters in Cyrano de Bergerac
In the story of Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand, there are people who solely focus on the
aesthetics of others instead of the personality or quality of the individual. Though it seems
completely innocent, they can only hurt themselves, and the people close to them. Cyrano de
Bergerac presents the theme of love as an umbrella to the motifs of precieuse, and platonic love,
Rostand conveys the message that judging people on external beauty, and making reality bend to
one s desires can lead to self harm, and heartbreak. When a person is a precieuse, they alter reality,
and facts to their liking, however this can only achieve sorrow, and despair upon oneself. In Act

skill, that courage got the girl. You re half way there. Now dare to speak. Cyrano responds So
she can laugh at this? Why, man, there s nothing that I fear more in this world... (31). These
quotes not only show that Cyrano is very self conscious of his nose, but he does not even
attempt speak, meet with, or make contact with Roxane, unless asked to. This decision by
Cyrano might be one of the most fatal decision in his life because he did not tell Roxane how he

41. Snow White Argumentative Essay
Mon Dieu, I murmured, glancing at the sassy, burping cow that gawked brainlessly from the cover
of Home On the Range; its reverse had the words, Round up the family and get ready for a whole
lotta fun with Disney s hilarious animated comedy Home on the Range, (Roper). Unfortunately,
Disneytends to exaggerate ever so slightly in marketing their products. Competitors DreamWorks,
Blue Sky, and Laika usually promote filmmediocrity under the all encompassing banner of the
family film. But animationhas changed significantly since Snow White and the Seven Dwarves:
Walter Elias Disney, the pioneering, persevering innovator, lowered the floodgates for a burgeoning
art, and suddenly, animation created thrillers, adventures, and worlds full... Show more content on

When Walt Disneydebuted his first feature length film, its titular character Snow White refrained
from decision making, with every other character affecting her future: her stepmother, the wicked
queen, attempts to kill Snow White several times; the huntsman spares her life; the seven dwarves
take her in, although with initial surprise and reluctance; and the prince revives Snow White from
her death like coma. Throughout this whirlwind of events, Snow White passively undergoes both
enjoyment and troubles, being acted upon by everyone except herself. Sleeping Beauty (1959)
possibly epitomises the quintessential Disney princess, . . . who does nothing the whole film but
sing wistfully about Finding Her Man, before becoming the ultimate passive Damsel in Distress,
and other than that has maybe ten actual lines of dialogue, (Butler). Again, Aurora acts as the
recipient of consequences from the actions of all other characters, without attempting to take action,
nor to determine her fate. Feminist Disney attacks Aurora for helplessly watching events unfolding
around her, arguing that, The older princesses Cinderella, Aurora, Snow White all of these women
have been rewarded for their beauty and kind, obedient disposition. None of these women did
anything to achieve being held up as role models for young girls. Thus Disney and [other
animation studios] . . . [have] responded to parental demands for positive female role models with .
. . films featuring increasingly three dimensional heroines giving their characters force of will to
actively participate in their stories, instead of overtly relying on others to influence their futures.
Going into the contemporary era, The Little Mermaid (1989) began to reflect that growing trend
among animated films, although

1.Introduction
Whittakers is a New Zealand owned and operated company, specializing in the manufacturing of
confectionary, that has been passed down through many generations. They are best known for their
blocks of chocolate but have recently diversified into other markets. An example of this
diversification is the recent release of the Lewis Road Creamery chocolate milk which had a hugely
successful introduction into the market. Whittaker s takes pride in manufacturing high quality
products with high value to its customers. It is through the use of effective marketing management

This is one of their main strengths because it creates a hype around what they ll be doing next,
leaving consumers eagerly waiting and speculating.
2.5 Competitors
Whittakers is one of the largest chocolate manufacturers in New Zealand, second to Cadbury its
main competitor. In New Zealand Cadbury and Whittakers dominate the chocolate market, each
with a different marketing approach. Whittakers targets a more serious and refined market in it s
advertising compared to Cadbury s whimsical and humourous approach, for example the eyebrow
dance advert and the extreme famous Gorilla advert. However, in the past 5 years Whittakers has
claimed a significant market share, not only due to their innovation, but also the mishaps of
Cadbury that saw popularity plunnet.

43. A Look into the Families of Mecoptera
The term Mecoptera is derived from the Greek words meco for long and ptera for wings .
Mecoptera is an order of insects most commonly known by their largest families, Panorpidae
(scorpionflies) and Bittacidae (hangingflies). They live in damp areas in dense forests and feed on
insects, decaying matter, mosses and other plants. Mating behaviors differ between each family and
each species is distinguished by morphological features and unique variation in the wings. There
have been around 550 species of Mecopterathat have been identified worldwide.

The name scorpionfly comes from the physical appearance of male genitalia, which resemble the
curved tail and stinger of a scorpion. However, they do not sting, nor do they have venom. The
swollen part of the tail functions as an enlarged sex organ. This prominent characteristic is found
primarily in the family Panorpidae, but its uniqueness is responsible for the most common name for
Mecoptera.
Mating behavior in Panorpidae usually involves an offering by the male. This may be a dead insect
or often a salivary secretion in its place.

44. Noise Of Electrical Power Stations Essay
Noise analysis was performed at three locations: offices, Laboratories and control rooms near
turbine in three electric power stations ( Shupra Elkhiema, Cairo west and Cairo south) . Noise
parameters were determined (e.g: LAeq,T, LCeq,T, LC LA and noise climate L10 L90 for each
measurement location. The start of measurements was in Shopra Elkhiema electrical power station,
Figure 1 shows the noise spectra measured at control rooms, laboratories and offices within
frequency range of 16 250Hz. The low frequency noises that causes complaints in control rooms,
laboratories and offices is usually generated from the air conditioning or ventilation system,
turbines, transformers and water pumps which presents in the station. Table 3 shows the
measurement parameters selected for the study of low frequency noise in station. The acoustic
pressure at 50 Hz is due to air conditioning which is audible especially in the control room because
it exceeds 50dB. Also, in some offices the soundof air condition cause annoyance and cause worker
complaints. Both control rooms and laboratory located near turbine. Also, the building which
contains offices located near water pumps.

46. The Immigration Of The United States Essay
Immigration in the United States has had a contentious history since this country s first settlers,
with overtly exclusive and xenophobic policies being de rigueur throughout colonialism until the
mid 20th century, and arguably today. Anti immigrant sentiment has reigned with each historical
immigration wave, intensifying as the demographics shifted from Northern and Western Europeans
during Colonialism to more unassimilable races like Southern and Eastern European, Asian,
African and Middle Eastern ( History of Oppression: Lesson 4 Cultural Imperialism , 2016).
Policy is inescapably shaped by public sentiment, and the American white majority believed in the
objective supremacy of the Nordic race to exercise political, economic and social control over
inferior races (Grant, 1916). This is in stark conflict with the Constitutional values that America is
built on, and to whom many have gestured to in the same breath as their anti immigrant vitriol. It is
in this contrast that one must look at the social constructions of immigrants, race and who is worthy
of citizenship, and how our country has historically sought to deny and restrict those considered a
threat to the American way of life (Jimenez, Pasztor, Chambers, Fujii, 2015, p. **). There have
been several mass immigrationwaves since this country s founding; British were the primary settlers
in the 17th and 18th centuries, along with hundreds of thousands of slaves from Africa; the mid
19th century were mostly
