Contemporary Issues in Criminal Justice
Introduction Gender bias, sexual harassment, and lack of training have been an ongoing struggle for
women in policing and it continues in today. I will be discussing this issue and will assess its past,
present and future implications as they relate to the Criminal Justice System. I will be discussing my
assessment of the past history and present circumstances of woman in policing. I will also include my
predictions and recommendation of how these issues should be addressed by the police and prosecutor
in the future.
Implications
Dating back to the 1970 s sexism was not considered to be a form of discrimination. Women faced the
perception of the public that a women s place was in the home; a woman s role was to cook, clean, and

Thirty nine agencies were surveyed (19 adult, 16 youth, and 4 combined), and all agencies had
formalized training programs. The results showed that forty six percent of the agencies offered
training to address specific needs of female employees. Seventy six percent required all staff to take
courses in sexual harassment awareness. Fifty nine percent offered training to decrease gender and
race bias/stereotyping and to increase awareness and understanding of gender differences. The
primary concern, voiced by 36 percent of these agencies, was for training to understand and help
eliminate sexual harassment. (Federal Prisons Journal, 1994, p. 1 23). The courts and statutes
recognize two forms of sexual harassment. Quid pro quo is explained as something for something.
This occurs when a supervisor or manager requests sexual favors, has made sexual advances that are
unwelcome, or engages in physical conduct of a sexual nature. Hostile work environment is a situation
where a non employee, co worker, or supervisor may be the basis for the sexual harassment claim. A
hostile work environment can be created by suggestive pictures or comments, unwanted physical
contact, obscene gestures, sexual jokes, and other contact that interferes with an

ELL Teacher Observation
I had an opportunity to meet the ELL teacher who is responsible for educating ELL students in the
district. She allowed me to observe her teaching a couple of students at Brighton Elementary School.
The teacher informed me that she teaches ELL students using Scholastic books and a Scholastic app.
Additionally, the scholastic app is usually used to help students replace missing words in a sentence,
assist students with pronunciation, punctuation, comprehension. While I was observing her class, the
students would click on a word and the computer would pronounce the word for them. This is a really
good way for students to learn how to pronounce words accurately. I also observed her using several
strategies to facilitate these students understanding of English as a second language, for instance, she
mentioned one strategy for capital letters you step on gas and another for periods you brake . Another
strategy that she uses when teaching them to write sentences is Mr. Space , which is the size of a
Popsicle stick, and it allows the students to put appropriate spaces between each of their words. The
students are required to take a test at the end of the year to measure their progress. Students are
supposed to show growth and progress and this data is communicated to the student s parents. ... Show

It is vital that teachers are aware of the support that students have so the teacher can be able to
accommodate these students academically. As a future leader, in order to promote diversity in my

have to ensure that ELL students have the additional support needed to be successful

Theme Of Social Norms In The Tempest
Whether one realizes it or not, the world we live in is governed by certain expectations and unwritten
rules that our society creates. These expected behaviors are called norms. When one establishes the
role that they play in society, they are governed by the expectations that society places on that specific
role. Norms give order to a society, but is that enough to say that they are good for citizens? Are these
norms needed to govern our behavior in a way that our government cannot? Social norms and the
effect that they can have on a person or group of people is shown through Shakespeare s The Tempest.
The characters in The Tempest are negatively affected by the unwritten social norms that they are
expected to follow, and today these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He encouraged two other men to join him, Stephano, a butler, and Trinculo, a jester. All three of these
men shared one thing in common: a low place in society. In an effort to free themselves from society s
pressure, the men plotted to murder Prospero. Stephano says, Monster, I will kill this man: his
daughter and I will be king and queen, save our graces! and Trinculo and thyself shall be viceroys (Act
3 Scene 2 Lines 106 108). Before they got the chance to kill, Prospero caught them, proving society s
power, once again, to be too strong. Many times, Stephano and Trinculo talked about how they would
break from their low place in society. At the end of the story, however, they find themselves stuck
under King Alonso s power, just as they were before the shipwreck. Despite all of their efforts,
Stephano, Trinculo, and Caliban all were stuck in their low place in society. In the same fashion,
Prospero had also been told by society that the only way he could live a good and prosperous life was
to get his dukedom back. Without this fancy title, society convinced Prospero that he was unimportant.
Prospero had the whole island to himself, a slave, a magical spirit, and his daughter, but yet, society
tells Prospero that this was not enough. During the play Prospero said, Now my charms are all o

Personal Law Vs. Written Law
Morals are defined to be the principle of what is right from what is wrong. What defines whether
something is right or wrong is based purely on ones judgment and perspective. Staying true to
personal beliefs and morals can sometimes be problematic to retain when conflicting with the written
law. In Antigone by Sophocles, Antigone disregards the decree of her uncle Creon, King of Thebes,
which forbids anybody to bury Antigone s brother Polynices who was killed in battle. Although
Polynices is considered a traitor to the land of Thebes, Antigone feels that to respect the wishes of the
gods she must burry him. She faithfully acts upon her morals, even though they oppose the law.
However, in the story On the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

against everything that he stands for, If you support a war, if you think its worth the price, that s fine,
but you have to put your own precious fluids on the line (O Brien 2). Tim does not think he should
have to fight in a war that he is against. Even though Tim seems to live by his morals, some of his
actions are ironic. Tim is a pacifist, yet he watches pigs get killed everyday. He works in a
slaughterhouse, taking out the blot clots from dead pigs by shooting the carcass with a water gun. For
someone who doesn t believe in fighting or killing, his job is pretty gruesome. Tim has an internal
struggle deciding whether or not to go to the war, My conscience told me to run, but some irrational
and powerful force was resisting, like a weight pushing me toward the war. What it came down to,

will feel guilty. He will not be able to handle the amount of shame he would feel if he ran away. The
shame he talks about comes from, All those eyes on me the town, the whole universe and I couldn t

people will judge him for not going to the war. The pressure of having his family and friends

China is the world s most populated country with the population of 1.3 billion people. Since there
were so many people in China they had to think about a way to control population so this is where the

while allowing exemptions for several cases, including twins. This policy was introduced in 1978 and

PEKING DUCK
Peking duck is a famous duck dish from Beijing that has been prepared since the imperial era. The
meat is prized for its thin, crisp skin, with authentic versions of the dish serving mostly the skin and
little meat, sliced in front of the diners by the cook. Ducks bred specially for the dish are slaughtered
after 65 days and seasoned before being roasted in a closed or hung oven. The meat is eaten with
scallion, cucumber and sweet bean sauce with pancakes rolled around the fillings. Sometimes pickled
radish is also inside, and other sauces (like hoisin sauce) can be used.
The cooked Peking Duck is traditionally carved in front of the diners and served in three stages. First,
the skin is served dipped in sugar and garlic sauce. The meat is then served with steamed pancakes
spring onions and sweet bean sauce. Several vegetable dishes are provided to accompany the meat,
typically cucumber sticks. The diners spread sauce, and optionally sugar, over the pancake. The
pancake is wrapped around the meat with the vegetables and eaten by hand. The remaining fat, meat
and bones may be made into a broth, served as is, or the meat chopped up and stir fried with sweet

The Theory Of The Drive Theory
Drive Theory The Drive theory was so named by Freud because of its emphasis on libidinal and
aggressive drives, which Freud considers to be the two principal motivating forces of human behavior,
and which barks for attention and expression. A child at birth is in a state of primary narcissism, and it
clamors to have its needs met irrespective of the comforts of others. The erogenous zones (mouth,
anus and genitals) are the avenues through which the energies are directed, and by stimulating these
areas, the child finds pleasure. If energies are not adequately released, anxiety results, but as the child
develops, it learns to regulate such forces for its ultimate good and that of others. Freud believes that
three components of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If human beings functioned solely from the Id s control center, there would be absolute chaos, since
people will do whatever they wish, whenever they wish, and wherever they wish, irrespective of
consequences. The Ego lives in both the conscious and the unconscious mind, and it represent the I of
the individual. The Ego functions like a good citizen, and acts as an intermediary between the Id, the
superego, and the external environment, to procure socially acceptable behavior. The ego coordinates
volition, and its main business is to protect self. It also regulates and suppresses the inordinate
promptings of the Id through reasoning and compromises, and is capable of delaying gratification for
the future. As maturation ensues, the ego expands, while the id shrinks, except in special cases where
the individual is fixated at the infantile level. Conditioned on the examination that people with strong
egos often have weak ids and superegos, Freud concludes that the relative distribution of energy
among these forces affects personality directly. Top of Form Bottom of Form The superego is the
conscience that grows out of parental prohibitions, and it represents the moral component of the
personality. Through the diminution of early narcissism, when the child begins to acknowledge its
limits, the superego imposes itself as a kind of watchdog over the ego, making sure that the

Rock N Roll At The Appearance Of Elvis
Bono of U2 called rock n roll at the appearance of Elvis a, clashing of cultures, a hybrid of different
energies, emotions, and styles. Like America itself, a collaboration of ideas subjected to individual
talents, shared commonalities, and in the worst cases our humanistic atrocities in the treatment of each
other. Somehow it was all of these elements in combination and at the opportune that created not just a
new genre of music but a historical backdrop for both political and social change in America and the
world. A removal of any one element from rock n roll s historical past whether its diversity, economic,
or civil structures could call into question its existence or the magnitude of its phenomenal global
effects. However, there can be no denying the contributions that African Americans have made to rock
n roll s invention. Whether it is in the variety of genres in rock s origins, its present at inception
contributors of the early 1950s, or with its influences on rock s British Invasion of the 1960s; rock n
roll can most certainly be beholden to African American culture.
Origins and Make up of Rock n Roll
Commonly agreed upon, rock music in its infancy was a mixture of blues, country, jazz, and hillbilly
genres. With that being said the best place to begin would be before the first wave of the Great
Migration of African Americans heading north in the 1920s. At a time of prohibition, industrialization,
and opportunity before the depression, we would find Otto

Critical Analysis Of Faces Of Japan
Bias and preposterous assumptions about a foreign society are a detriment to the image of that society.
Creating a burden to the future comprehension of said society. Doctor David C. Unger, former foreign
affairs editorial writer for the New York Times, has stated and debunked said stereotypes in his
editorial titled Faces of Japan. In it, Unger argues that Japanese stereotypes are utterly incorrect and
the presumptions surrounding Japanese culture are outdated. Japan s culture is not static, Japanese
people are not spending every living moment in remorse after the events of WWII. Unger argues this
point through the explicit comparison of Japan in 1992 to Japan in 1945. The goal that Unger is trying
to achieve is to compel the audience to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

depicted a visual of Japan s youth in the minds of the audience. The audience is focused on the idea
that Japanese people live just like any other society and establishes that there are now more
similarities between the reader and Japanese people. Imagery is an irresistible form of rhetoric to the
audience, it also helps the audience sympathize with Japanese people through shared experiences:
travel, education, fashion, etc... This imagery is effective on the audience, it paints a picture in the
reader s mind and is appealing to a feeling of commonality. In the minds of some Americans, Japan is

describing the biased, and incorrect, ideas that surround Japan. The Japanese are portrayed as faceless
and conformist, their real feelings impenetrable to non Japanese. This supposedly monolithic society
is explained in terms of Japan s militarist traditions, its consensus style of politics and a shared
national anxiety over scarce resources. These are said to produce people committed to work
unceasingly so that Japan can dominate the world economically, and perhaps militarily too. ...
There are Japanese who think like that, but fewer than there used to be. Meanwhile a newer, youth

Theme Of The Hunting Snake
Throughout the detailed adventures in these poems, they both explore and relate to the battle between
man and nature. This battle has lasted for many years as man and nature have lived together on this
planet for centuries. The Hunting Snake talks about how nature can both be beautiful and glamorous
and also be dangerous while Pike chooses to focus on how nature dominates over humans and
definitely has a darker tone to it.
The Hunting Snake tells the story of a couple that see an elegant yet dangerous snake cross in front of
them. The couple is shown to be both amazed and terrified of the snake s presence. The snake is
described in such a way so that its beauty and killer instinct are both clearly portrayed. The couple s
reaction to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The quote we took a deeper breath of day shows how close Wright believes that they came to death,
yet their amazement of being in the presence of such a beautiful creature. The verb quested that
surrounds the snake demonstrates its purpose and the fact that he is not slightly interested by the
couple s presence throughout his mission to catch his prey. This symbolizes how humans cannot affect
nature s actions.
The theme of this poem is therefore based on man s vulnerability to nature and the way that creatures
such as snakes represent a type of danger that is important to be respectful and mindful of. This poem
also reminds the reader of the healthy respect they need to have for nature and the natural order.
In the poem Pike , the author definitely wanted to have a darker take of the role of nature. All detail
that is described about it has an extremely sinister vibe to it. Ted Hughes, the author, uses the natural
world to its advantage by creating a realistic vision where humans are only on species of many and are
clearly not as powerful as they would like to believe. This poem focuses on the amount of violence in
the natural world and the predatory behavior that happens there. Hughes attempts to reunite what first
appears to be a horrible form of violence that nature causes but seems to him as

Whilst the benefits of LOTC are clear it is important to note that it may only be effective when
relevant to the National Curriculum and planned for in the correct context (Beames et al, 2012).
Whilst the importance and benefits of LOTC has been reported by many educational and professional
bodies in the past, it has also been noted that some schools are reluctant to plan for LOTC due to the
pressure of a packed National Curriculum and time constraints (Maynard and Waters, 2007). However,
Ofsted has addressed these concerns, along with concerns about financial barriers and health and
safety aspects, in their report dated 2008. Suggesting that, where the LOTC activity directly related to
the curriculum and specific learning outcomes, the majority of the planning for the trip would already
be complete, reducing the demand of teachers.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Paper
Among the most common of mental health conditions is post traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and
depression. Furthermore, PTSD can lead to severe physiological and psychological changes that are
significantly increased when this trauma isn t caught in its early stages. These traumas have a great
impact on the patient s personalities and perceptions. Therefore, there are different types of treatments
that can be implemented accordingly to the patient to improve their psychological condition, and
avoid unfavorable results on their mental health.

suggested to people with PTSD to get rid of subordinate symptoms of depression or anxiety. In spite
of the fact that antidepressants may help you feel less sad, anxious, or on edge, they do not treat the
causes of PTSD.
As a final point, is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) consists of essentials of

by relaxing the brain s information processing system, which is disturbed in extreme trauma events.
Conclusion As stated in this article s explanations of causes behind PTSD, we clarified that the main

seem to be the two main symptoms of PTSD, even though these symptoms of PTSD can be treated
with medication, the actual cause for PTSD cannot. However, many people with PTSD go through

Hi Professor Dorsner I hope your week has been pleasant and stress free. Thank you for changing my
marks in the discussion forum. However, after the change I realised my journal post may have come
across as being arrogant and a bit of a whinge about only receiving a 9 when I deserved a 10. This was
not the intent of my journal post. I only meant to highlight that I can be a bit highly strung sometimes
and that I should appreciate a mark as high as 9 rather than being disappointed I did not achieve
perfection. I m trying to let go a little so I am not adding unnecessarily to the normal day to day
stresses of family life. Thanks again though, the change of grade is appreciated. 1. Of the different
kinds of ecosystem services you learned about, discuss two that are important in your local area,

near impossible to recreate. They contribute not only to our species continued survival by providing
such resources such as food, water, timber but also quality of life buy providing cultural services such
as areas that can be used for recreation. It has taken a long time for governments and people around

this way of thinking. For example, The federal Australian government

The Analysis On Ephesians Prefacing The Book The Bible ...
In the ESV study bible, the authors wrote an excerpt on Ephesians prefacing the author, title, date,
background information, and a description of the ancient city of Ephesus. Relating to the author of
Ephesians all scholars believed that Paul wrote the letter, until recent times where many scholars
propose that an imitator or a follower of Paul wrote the letter. The scholars give two reasons for this
theory, the first is the letter s style does not represent Pauline thought, and the second being the
authors unfamiliarity with the recipients. In contrast, some scholars say there is ample proof of Pauline
authorship; the first reason is the letter explicitly claims to be Paul s in Ephesians 1:1 and 3:1, and the
second reason subsists in more analysis of the text and that it is similar to other Pauline texts. The
final argument for Pauline authorship is the forcefulness of the author s speech mentioned in
Ephesians 4:15, and verse 25. In these two verses, the argument that the author is unfamiliar with the
audience stands debunked because the author commands of them and the author addresses the unity
they all possess. Secondly, an important historical component for understanding the context of
Ephesians is to know the date it is written and background information of why Paul wrote the letter.
Scholars suggest that Paul wrote Ephesians in 62 AD when he was under house arrest in Rome, this
conclusion comes from Paul mentioning his imprisonment in Ephesians 3:1, 4:1, and 6:20.

The Nymphs Reply To His Love Analysis
Humans are idealists. We are day dreamers, curious minds and wanters of what could be. At the same
time though, we must be practical, smart and real or else Life might advantage of you. In writing we
often see the battle of ideal vs real, especially when it comes to works centering on the topic of love.
Poems like The Passionate Shepherd to His Love (Marlowe, 1599) and The Nymphs Reply to the
Shepherd (Raleigh, 1599) are prime examples of the contrasting views, while prose like Eveline
(Joyce, 1914) represents both sides throughout the story.
Melodious birds, a bed a roses, a gown made of the finest wool who could turn down such an offer? If
the speaker is to give his Love all that he can, then that must, surely, be love. That is what the
Marlowe tries to convey in The Passionate Shepherd to His Love. The speaker paints an ideal picture
of how their love will be and how if what he says appeals to his interest then they must come and be
with him. This thought is explicitly represented in the final couplet of the poem, it says, If these
delights thy mind may move,/ Then live with me and be my love. His love is persuasive. He wants the
interest to consider the best of what it could be. We then see a response from Raleigh through his
poem The Nymph s Reply to the Shepherd. In almost a form of mockery, Raleigh s poem blatantly
contradicts Marlowe s. Raleigh uses his piece as a representation of real love, rather than ideal. He not
only mimics the style of writing, but also

Of the 26 million animals used, 95% of those animals are small rodents, birds, and fish (Listland). Not
many higher mammals are used, making this okay in their eyes. Their biggest support for how they
feel on this topic are facts that make animal testing look ethical and not as bad, just how the following
fact states. The human population of the United States eats about 9 billion chickens each year or more
than 340 chickens for each animal used in research. (listland). This quote shows not many of our
animals are being tested on even though 26 million may seem like a large number. In reality, though,
we are eating more than we are testing on and the little ones we are testing on won t make any
difference any way, they can reproduce just fine. Many people have argued over this fact, but a
question always pops up and never seems to be solved. Why is it okay for even the little number of
animals to be tested on? The small animals such as birds, fish, and mice have a right to live their lives
and just because they re small it doesn t lessen their importance or tell whether it is okay for them to

Evaluation Of Attachment Theory For Children With...
Overview of attachment theory
Attachment theory shows an emotional bond that connects one person to another, in this essay, the
theory is explained as how it relates to children with developmental disabilities and their families
along with how it is practically applied. This theory was first explained by John Bowlby (1969) who
regarded it as the earliest bond needed for survival of the young children. He emphasizes on
caregiving relationships to reinforce positive behavior, it is dependent on the ability of the care giver
to correctly analyze behavious of the child and respond over time. With children with disabilities, it is
seen that they have varying challenges ranging from diagnostic conditions to medical disorders and

With different characteristics it is best to have a secure child. At the beginning Bowbly (1969) ties it to
a biological base origin and this has further given researchers to further study this parent child
relationship, he believes that the attachment between a child and the caregiver creates a lasting impact
over the entire lifetime of both parties. Attachment theory does not only focus on the relationship of
the parent to child, but looks at it a dependence on each other, it emphasizes on the emotional, social,
cognitive and behavioral components that ultimately reflects developmental changes over a long
period of time (Howe 2006). The main point of this theory is that if the primary caregiver is
dependable, it helps the child build a sense of security, because the child knows that the care giver is
reliable so the child is more open to explore the world. From the beginning at infancy, people around
influence how the child behaves, it is an indicator of how other future relationships the child
encounters will grow. It is said that in the first year, the most important development is the creation of
an attachment bond between a mother and the infant (McConnell Moss, 2011). It is at this stage that
the mother responds to the infants actions like crying or ache, if the attachment figure in this case
maybe the mother, acts swiftly and promptly, the child feels safe and protected but if the caregiver
does not respond appropriately, then the

Twin Peaks uses breaks of conventions of mise en scene frequently. In episode eight of season two,
several figures of the police force are lined up and the camera has a steady angle for minutes . Gordon
Cole walks from person to person, shaking their hands and thanking them for their great work. The
scene looks unnatural and the steady camera reinforces this impression. It looks like someone filmed a
boss from a company thanking his employees, which is what actually is happening: The director is
thanking his actors for good work. The scene is unnecessary for the plot and does not relate to
anything else during the story which is also an indicator that through the use of an unconventional

Lester Nygaard is chased by the police on a snowmobile, which is a common scene in action movies

to the rules of mise en scene, a fast and action packed music would be fitting for such a chase. In its
place though, the filmmakers used a slow, melancholic and cautious music. Sound and action are in
contrast and the rules of mise en scene, which Sergei Eisenstein called synchronization of sound (The

A Road Not Taken
Robert Frost was one of the most well known American poets in the modernist era. One of his most
famous poems is titled A Road Not Taken . Frost was born on March 26, 1874, in San Francisco
California. He then passed away on January 29, 1963, in Boston Massachusetts.
On March 26, 1874, a man named Robert frost was born. Like all famous artists and poets, he started
off as a nobody. As a child, Frost lost his father at the age of 11. After that he went on to live with his

The Chemical And Gas Sensors
Introduction:
There has been a rapid growth in the field of biosensing through both ultrasensitive chemical and gas
sensors. The bio sensing protocols that are able to detect specific biological and chemical species,
sensitively and specifically (selectively) can noticeably influence our daily lives. The issues related to
monitoring of industrial emissions, medical diagnosis and public security are significant application
fields of gas sensing in particular. Nano engineered materials including Carbon Nanotubes and
Graphene are being used to develop miniaturized sensors that can detect very low concentrations of
gases which are biomarkers of certain diseases like lung cancer in particular. The composition of
exhaled breath contains valuable information about certain volatile and semi volatile compounds
which can be used to generate a chemical fingerprint and thereby screen patients with lung cancer.
Graphene and Carbon Nanotubes have been discussed for the development of chemical sensing
platform.
A. Graphene for biosensing:
Graphene is a 2 D form of carbon with planar structure and sp2 bonding. It is a single layer of graphite
with inter planar spacings of 3.35 A0. It has attracted tremendous interest due to its exceptional and
unique properties. Some of its properties that are relevant to its widespread use in gas sensors have
been discussed below.
Properties:
1. The high specific surface area of graphene (both suspended and supported on substrate) provide

Creon As The Tragic Hero In Antigone By Sophocles
Tragic heroes are not symbols of virtue nor possess any significant evil, yet their flaws are magnified
by the power they hold. Most individuals in society do not seek to bring harm to others. Their
intentions are based on their principles of righteousness and doctrine, and these individuals can often
be great leaders who are forced to make difficult decisions. However, even the most honor bound
persons can be greatly influenced by the sin of pride; which can lead to the suffering of others. In the
play Antigone by Sophocles, Creon punishes Antigone for defying him. This is not because Creon is
evil, moreso because he justifies them as beneficial.Sophocles intends to create an Aristotelian
tragedy; using Creon as the tragic hero, in conjunction with supporting thematic expressions shown
throughout the play such as power and morality. Creon becomes the primary conductor of tragedy in
Antigone, providing catastrophe to befall on himself as well as two main characters. Sophocles
illustrates how it is unavoidable for a person in a high position of power to cause harm to others.
Haemon who is Antigone s husband suffers through the weight of his wife s impending death. The
overall tragic atmosphere of loss and suffering the author creates stems from an intentional placement
by the author as Sophocles as he illustrates the coexisting and contrasting elements of divinity and
civil law.
The suffering of others does not always stem from evil intentions, but more often from the

How Does Political Climate Impact Libraries
The political climate in an influential factor in deciding how far reaching libraries can be in the
community it is in. Budget cuts made by politicians affect how much librarians can provide with the
funds that they are afforded. In another article written by Paul Jaeger, Wake up the Nation: Public
Libraries, Policy Making, and Political Discourse calls for library and information science researchers
to engage problems of politics and policy making that impact libraries which will benefit libraries in
advocating their needs in the political process (Jaeger 61). Jaeger notes that there is an
interrelationship between policy, politics, and public libraries (Jaeger 61). For example, a cycle occurs

Essay about A Role of Ethics and Social Responsibilities...
A Role of Ethics and Social Responsibilities in Management.
Ethics can be defined as a process of evaluating actions according to moral principal of
values(A.Alhemoud). Throughout the centuries people were trying to choose between profit and
moral. Perhaps, some of them obtain both, but every time it could have roused ethical issues. Those
issues concern fairness, justice, rightness or wrongness; as a result it can only be resolved according to
ethical standards. Setting the ethical standards for the way of doing business in corporation is
primarily task of management. Corporations have to maintain the same standards as an individual

They emerged from individual ethical standards and corporate consciousness. Moreover, the public
demand for prosecution of any violations of corporate, professional and business ethics has been

develop a process for monitoring business practices and recommend ways to correct questionable
activities. (J.Byrne) All these measures were taken to balance various social responsibilities with the
high degree of moral and sense of attainment. Unfortunately, cooperation of unethical behavior of a

A Brief Economic History of Argentina
In 1502 European sailors arrived ashore the Argentinean land during the Amerigo Vespucci voyage in
1502. A Spanish navigator named Juan Diaz de Solias visited Argentina during the year of 1516. The
Spanish people created a permanent colony on the site of Buenos Aires in 1580, which was built
overland and greatly resembled those built in Peru. From this established colony the regions of Rio de
la Plata and Buenos Aires become the center of trade in Central America and throughout Europe. In
the year of 1816 on July 9th the region of Buenos Aires would declare for their independence from
Spanish opposition. After their victory over the Spanish, two groups would embark in lengthy
conflicts between one another on who would/should control the region of Buenos Aires, and the two
groups being the centralists and the federalists. These two groups thus combine to create the nation
known to this day as Argentina finally establishing in the late 19th century finally agreeing on views.
Foreigners investing into Argentina s trade would add to a contribution of an economic revolution all
throughout Argentina leading to the production of railroads and mass amounts of trade ports spreading
all throughout the land of Argentina with the British being their primary and significant investor s.
Ever since these momentous events have occurred Argentina has grown to be one of the world s top

The Sniper Literary Analysis
What of revenge? Is it appropriate? If yes, is it only appropriate in some cases? These four literature
selections could help one find their answer. The Sniper is a short story written by Liam O Flaherty
about the civil war in Ireland and the revenge incorporated in it. The Cask of Amontillado was written
by Edgar Allen Poe, who tells the story of a man consumed by revenge. A Eulogy for Martin Luther
King, Jr. describes the want and need for forgiveness and is given by Robert F. Kennedy. Of Revenge
is an essay telling of the glory of remission and forgiveness from Sir Francis Bacon. It is not
appropriate to take revenge because there are better consequences with forgiveness and revenge does
damage to others and yourself. To begin, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is may be true for some individuals, but the benefits of forgiving are greater. A weight can lift off
one s shoulders when they choose to forgive someone of a debt or wrong doing. They will not hold a
grudge anymore and that dark presence in their life can disappear. Revenge still won t satisfy justice
because it will just continue as a never ending cycle. The one that takes revenge will only be paid back
with a revenge in return. The cycle of grudges and violence will never end until someone forgives.
Whatever reasons people may use to validate revenge, they must face the truth that forgiveness is

The Big Fish Film Analysis
The Big Fish is a 2003 fantasy/ comedy drama directed by the director of popular movies such as The
Nightmare Before Christmas, Tim Burton. The Big Fish takes us into the life of Edward Bloom (Ewan
McGregor and Albert Finney), and the feud he holds with his son Will Bloom (Billy Crudup). Will s
feud with his dad stems from his dad s overexagerated stories and gaps between fantasy and reality.
Will goes with his wife, Sandra Bloom (Alison Lohman), to find out once and for all the truth about
his father s life. During the narration of Edward s life, the movie slips into a fantasy world where we

Synchresis In Glas
Bert Haanstra s Glas is a short film made in 1958. The film focussed on the process of glass making
where two different methods of the process have been screened. Firstly it showed how human beings
are individually blowing the glasses and making artistic pieces out of it like decorative materials,
bottles, and cups etc., followed by the mechanical large scale mass production of bottles which is
mainly done by machines. It is found that the film is divided into three clearly defined chapters. In the
first chapter we mainly see the improvisatory method of glass blowing where artisans are applying
their individual artistic abilities in order to create glass objects with a unique art impression. Whereas
the second chapter involves the mechanical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The activity of the artisans from their hands are edited and shot in such a manner that it matches
perfectly with the melody pattern as well as the rhythm of the musical track that is accompanied. It
looks as if the music is been created by them, implying that whatever they are doing is also highly
artistic it s not just a mechanical production. This chapter of the movie involves wide use of
synchresis and is an ideal example of musical synchresis. Synchresis is the term coined by French
theorist Michel Chion which means synchronisation + synthesis. Since synchresis is the phenomena of
establishing a cause and effect relation between image and sound when they occur together as if the
image is causing the sound, or the sound is outcome of whatever is happening on screen. As the
sequence progresses the music also becomes faster in order to accompany the faster editing pattern
where we see a perfect amalgamation of mechanical production of glasses with machines and human

Boeing vs Airbus
The commercial airplane manufacturing industry is dominated by two large players, Boeing and
Airbus. They operate in a very competitive environment and the strategies of one strongly impact the
business of the other.
For almost 40 years, the Boeing 747 or Jumbo Jet, the largest airplane in the world, has enjoyed a
monopoly and has brought in large profits for Boeing. Roughly 10 years ago, Airbus decided to look
into to the possibility of manufacturing an even larger and more efficient plane.

It also has a lower cabin noise and the effects of jetlag than the Boeing 747.
At 555 passengers, the A380 s seating capacity represents a 35% increase over the 747 400 in a
standard three class configuration, along with a 50% larger cabin volume producing more space per
passenger. If, however, the plane is ordered in an all economy class configuration, it can hold up to
853 passengers; its maximum certified carrying capacity.
Airport compatibility
The A380 was designed to fit within an 80 x 80 m airport gate[33], and can land or take off on any
runway that can take a Boeing 747. However, airports used by the A380 in commercial service may
need infrastructure modifications. Its large wingspan can require some taxiway and apron
reconfigurations, to maintain safe separation margins when two of the aircraft pass each other.
Taxiway shoulders may be required to be paved to reduce the likelihood of foreign object damage
caused to (or by) the outboard engines, which overhang more than 25 m (80 ft) from the centre line of
the aircraft. Any taxiway or runway bridge must be capable of supporting the A380 s maximum
weight. The terminal gate must be sized such that the A380 s wings do not block adjacent gates, and
may also provide multiple jetway bridges for simultaneous boarding on both decks. Service vehicles
with lifts capable of reaching the upper deck must be obtained, as well as tractors capable of

Imagery Test Anxiety
Imagery Methods for Test Anxiety
Test anxiety has always been an issue I have struggled with and it has only increased since I started
University. My personal experience with test anxiety leads to physiological symptoms such as nervous
jitter, accelerated heart beats and light headedness, all of which impacts my test taking skills and
influence my decision making ability. This is a problem because although I am prepared with the
knowledge for an exam, it still affects my judgement when writing my answers and thus causes an
impact on my grades.
A study by Rebecca Stephens (1992), Imagery: A Treatment for Nursing Student Anxiety , explained
imagery methods that were proven effective among nursing students experiencing similar anxiety.
Nursing students are subjected to midterms and exams as are students in other programs, and although
the material is different it is the fear before writing a test that causes the anxiety. This makes it
applicable to my specific situation because although I am a Human Kinetics major, I am required to

Abraham Lincoln Freedman
Have you ever heard of Abraham Lincoln? Most Americans have, because he was one of the most
loved, and most hated presidents we ever had. He didn t start that way though. He was born in
Kentucky, in a one room, one window, hard packed dirt floor log cabin. He worked hard and was
ambitious, and over time he became one of the most well known presidents of the United States.
According to Russell Freedman, Lincoln was very ambitious and eager to prove himself.
In Lincoln: a Photobiography Russell Freedman claims that Lincoln was ambitious. Lincoln s family
was poor, so he tried to help them earn money. Then, when he was 17 years old, he got hired by a rich
old man to row his son down the river, On a twelve hundred mile flat boat voyage to New Orleans.
Lincoln earned 24 dollars for the three month voyage, which was a lot of money at the time. He must
have been brave, because he didn t know the man he was traveling with, and he didn t know how long
it would take. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On page 19 of Lincoln: Photo biography, it says, He joined the New Salem debate society, which met
once a week. Through the society, he got to meet many people and became more eager to have his

English and grammar. Turning him from a boy who had a country accent to a man who could grab
your thoughts and turn them toward what he thought. This also opened him to the idea of being a
lawyer.
Lincoln was ambitious according to Russell Freedman. Lincoln became a lawyer in 1830, then he
joined Congress 17 years later in 1847. He was quickly rising out of the poor shop keeper business
into the political business. This reminds me of President Trump, a businessman with no political
background who just became president of the United States. And not many people are happy with his
ideas, but, like Lincoln, he may turn out to be great just the

The Impacts Of Classical Music In The 20th Century...
The twentieth century music composition gave way to more incorporation to music as it was known. It
was the time when musical rules could be reinvented, altered and in some cases completely ignored
(Hansen, et al 154). This classical music was described by many different works such as, orchestral,
solos, operas, concertos, symphonies, chamber music, and many others (Hansen, et al 168). As stated
by Hansen, et al, Some musical styles within the modernist movement were impressionism, serialism,
minimalism, electronic music, experimental music, and change music (160). All the musical styles
were influenced through jazz but it was a moment of breakthrough for all the composers since all rules
were ignored. Aaron Copland and Benjamin Britten were two composers of that century that shaped
the way twentieth century classical music was viewed. The different elements of classical musical
such as melody, harmony, texture, rhythm, timbre, and form are what characterized the twentieth
century classical music. First, twentieth century music had taken a different approach than earlier
music eras. There were varieties of differences which started from the instruments and the sounds that
it produced to the complexity of the textures. The composers used new approaches and ideas to their
compositions and broke many rules. The composers used the instruments and electronics to push ideas
of serious music into the mainstream (Hansen, et al 169). The twentieth century was known for

Descriptive Essay About The Wedding
So you want to know what the title means stay here and you can see. My grandparents decided to
surprised me with a trip going to Scotland, London, then Paris. When this happened I was overjoyed
because I was going to be able to see my cousins and one was getting married when we were there.
This trip was a two week trip from Aug. 31 to July 12. Before we left, my mom gave me a visa gift
card so I would able to buy stuff. I went to go use it and I noticed that I could only use it in the USA.
When we got there, we got settled in at our family s place. The first night we had fish and chips on the
shore of the North Sea. The first day we arrived there it was a lazy and went to go look at shops and
shop. When we shopped we shopped for hours.
My second cousin was getting married when we were there so we were there for her. They had their
wedding by the North Sea. The weather for the wedding was perfect, but it rained when we were
walking to the after party where we had a fun time. On the wedding day, my third cousin, named
Hannah, did my hair for the wedding. During the wedding all of the males in the wedding wore kilts.
We walked around in four different castles in Scotland and they all looked very similar. The castle I
liked the best was the one in Inchcolm. When we were there my papa could not wait for bangers and
mash. When we were shopping and walking around Edinburgh we saw Scottish bagpipe player.
After all of this which was a week we went to London. The first night

public transit is their payment policies. The WRTA has four methods of payment and two mediums
riders can use. The prices vary according to certain criteria. The most basic is a single ride. When
paying cash on the bus, a single ride for adults is $1.50; for those who qualify for reduced fare, that is
the elderly, disabled, and children between the ages of 5 and 13, a single ride is 0.75. Children under 5
are always free. When using a Charlie Card, adult fare drops to 1.20 and reduced fare drops to (0.65).
The following two payment methods cost the same regardless of whether a Charlie Card is used. The
first of the two is a Day Pass which gives riders unlimited rides for the date that the pass in purchased.
For adults, a Day Pass is 3.50 and for those who qualify for reduced, passes are 1.75. The second of
the two is a 31 Days Pass. A 31 Day Pass gives the rider unlimited rides for 31 days after the pass is
purchased. For adults a 31 Day Pass is $48.00 and for reduced riders it is $24.00.
Like the WRTA, the MRTA has three methods of payment with two mediums. Similar to the WRTA

Explain Why Juveniles Should Be Tried As Adults
Juveniles should be tried as adults because they only serve a few years in prison, they deserve a

under the age of eighteen and they know that they will not get as in much trouble as they would if they

Dikeskemp s Influence On The Nature Of God
In the beginning God is recorded as taking six days to create everything. He creates many unique and

Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness...(Holy Bible). God intentionally placed his own

Glaucoma Research Paper
A common misconception is that glaucoma is a singular disease, in fact, it is a collaboration of many
diseases in the eyes that cause glaucoma. these diseases can often lead to loss of vision but, if caught
early, glaucoma, or the smaller diseases which lead to it, can be treated. Like many other diseases, if
caught early, the lasting effects will lessen. The most effected part of the eye is the optic nerve. The
optic nerve s main purpose is to connect the retina and the brain, as to send what the human is seeing
to the brain to process the visual information. The optic nerve contains more than one billion nerve
fibers which each give off their own electrical impulses to send the visual information to the occipital
lobes in the brain. The occipital lobe then processes the information which it receives. The most
prominent type of glaucoma is Open Angle Glaucoma. Open Angle Glaucoma occurs due to the build

  • 2. Contemporary Issues in Criminal Justice Introduction Gender bias, sexual harassment, and lack of training have been an ongoing struggle for women in policing and it continues in today. I will be discussing this issue and will assess its past, present and future implications as they relate to the Criminal Justice System. I will be discussing my assessment of the past history and present circumstances of woman in policing. I will also include my predictions and recommendation of how these issues should be addressed by the police and prosecutor in the future. Implications Dating back to the 1970 s sexism was not considered to be a form of discrimination. Women faced the perception of the public that a women s place was in the home; a woman s role was to cook, clean, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thirty nine agencies were surveyed (19 adult, 16 youth, and 4 combined), and all agencies had formalized training programs. The results showed that forty six percent of the agencies offered training to address specific needs of female employees. Seventy six percent required all staff to take courses in sexual harassment awareness. Fifty nine percent offered training to decrease gender and race bias/stereotyping and to increase awareness and understanding of gender differences. The primary concern, voiced by 36 percent of these agencies, was for training to understand and help eliminate sexual harassment. (Federal Prisons Journal, 1994, p. 1 23). The courts and statutes recognize two forms of sexual harassment. Quid pro quo is explained as something for something. This occurs when a supervisor or manager requests sexual favors, has made sexual advances that are unwelcome, or engages in physical conduct of a sexual nature. Hostile work environment is a situation where a non employee, co worker, or supervisor may be the basis for the sexual harassment claim. A hostile work environment can be created by suggestive pictures or comments, unwanted physical contact, obscene gestures, sexual jokes, and other contact that interferes with an ... • 3. ELL Teacher Observation I had an opportunity to meet the ELL teacher who is responsible for educating ELL students in the district. She allowed me to observe her teaching a couple of students at Brighton Elementary School. The teacher informed me that she teaches ELL students using Scholastic books and a Scholastic app. Additionally, the scholastic app is usually used to help students replace missing words in a sentence, assist students with pronunciation, punctuation, comprehension. While I was observing her class, the students would click on a word and the computer would pronounce the word for them. This is a really good way for students to learn how to pronounce words accurately. I also observed her using several strategies to facilitate these students understanding of English as a second language, for instance, she mentioned one strategy for capital letters you step on gas and another for periods you brake . Another strategy that she uses when teaching them to write sentences is Mr. Space , which is the size of a Popsicle stick, and it allows the students to put appropriate spaces between each of their words. The students are required to take a test at the end of the year to measure their progress. Students are supposed to show growth and progress and this data is communicated to the student s parents. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 4. Theme Of Social Norms In The Tempest Whether one realizes it or not, the world we live in is governed by certain expectations and unwritten rules that our society creates. These expected behaviors are called norms. When one establishes the role that they play in society, they are governed by the expectations that society places on that specific role. Norms give order to a society, but is that enough to say that they are good for citizens? Are these norms needed to govern our behavior in a way that our government cannot? Social norms and the effect that they can have on a person or group of people is shown through Shakespeare s The Tempest. The characters in The Tempest are negatively affected by the unwritten social norms that they are expected to follow, and today these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He encouraged two other men to join him, Stephano, a butler, and Trinculo, a jester. All three of these men shared one thing in common: a low place in society. In an effort to free themselves from society s pressure, the men plotted to murder Prospero. Stephano says, Monster, I will kill this man: his daughter and I will be king and queen, save our graces! and Trinculo and thyself shall be viceroys (Act 3 Scene 2 Lines 106 108). Before they got the chance to kill, Prospero caught them, proving society s power, once again, to be too strong. Many times, Stephano and Trinculo talked about how they would break from their low place in society. At the end of the story, however, they find themselves stuck under King Alonso s power, just as they were before the shipwreck. Despite all of their efforts, Stephano, Trinculo, and Caliban all were stuck in their low place in society. In the same fashion, Prospero had also been told by society that the only way he could live a good and prosperous life was to get his dukedom back. Without this fancy title, society convinced Prospero that he was unimportant. Prospero had the whole island to himself, a slave, a magical spirit, and his daughter, but yet, society tells Prospero that this was not enough. During the play Prospero said, Now my charms are all o erthrown, And what strength I have s mine own, Which is most faint (Act 4 Scene 1 lines 320 322). • 5. Antigone Rainy River Personal Law Vs. Written Law Morals are defined to be the principle of what is right from what is wrong. What defines whether something is right or wrong is based purely on ones judgment and perspective. Staying true to personal beliefs and morals can sometimes be problematic to retain when conflicting with the written law. In Antigone by Sophocles, Antigone disregards the decree of her uncle Creon, King of Thebes, which forbids anybody to bury Antigone s brother Polynices who was killed in battle. Although Polynices is considered a traitor to the land of Thebes, Antigone feels that to respect the wishes of the gods she must burry him. She faithfully acts upon her morals, even though they oppose the law. However, in the story On the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Tim says he wants to run away from the war in fear of breaking his morals. He feels that the war goes against everything that he stands for, If you support a war, if you think its worth the price, that s fine, but you have to put your own precious fluids on the line (O Brien 2). Tim does not think he should have to fight in a war that he is against. Even though Tim seems to live by his morals, some of his actions are ironic. Tim is a pacifist, yet he watches pigs get killed everyday. He works in a slaughterhouse, taking out the blot clots from dead pigs by shooting the carcass with a water gun. For someone who doesn t believe in fighting or killing, his job is pretty gruesome. Tim has an internal struggle deciding whether or not to go to the war, My conscience told me to run, but some irrational and powerful force was resisting, like a weight pushing me toward the war. What it came down to, stupidly, was a sense of shame. Hot, stupid shame. (6). Tim knows that if he does not go to the war he will feel guilty. He will not be able to handle the amount of shame he would feel if he ran away. The shame he talks about comes from, All those eyes on me the town, the whole universe and I couldn t risk the embarrassment. It was as if there were an audience to my life (10). Tim thinks that other people will judge him for not going to the war. The pressure of having his family and friends disapprove of his actions is what ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Since there were so many people in China they had to think about a way to control population so this is where the one child policy was made. The meat is eaten with scallion, cucumber and sweet bean sauce with pancakes rolled around the fillings. Sometimes pickled radish is also inside, and other sauces (like hoisin sauce) can be used. The cooked Peking Duck is traditionally carved in front of the diners and served in three stages. First, the skin is served dipped in sugar and garlic sauce. The meat is then served with steamed pancakes spring onions and sweet bean sauce. Several vegetable dishes are provided to accompany the meat, typically cucumber sticks. The Theory Of The Drive Theory Drive Theory The Drive theory was so named by Freud because of its emphasis on libidinal and aggressive drives, which Freud considers to be the two principal motivating forces of human behavior, and which barks for attention and expression. A child at birth is in a state of primary narcissism, and it clamors to have its needs met irrespective of the comforts of others. The erogenous zones (mouth, anus and genitals) are the avenues through which the energies are directed, and by stimulating these areas, the child finds pleasure. If energies are not adequately released, anxiety results, but as the child develops, it learns to regulate such forces for its ultimate good and that of others. If human beings functioned solely from the Id s control center, there would be absolute chaos, since people will do whatever they wish, whenever they wish, and wherever they wish, irrespective of consequences. The Ego lives in both the conscious and the unconscious mind, and it represent the I of the individual. The Ego functions like a good citizen, and acts as an intermediary between the Id, the superego, and the external environment, to procure socially acceptable behavior. The ego coordinates volition, and its main business is to protect self. It also regulates and suppresses the inordinate promptings of the Id through reasoning and compromises, and is capable of delaying gratification for the future. As maturation ensues, the ego expands, while the id shrinks, except in special cases where the individual is fixated at the infantile level. Conditioned on the examination that people with strong egos often have weak ids and superegos, Freud concludes that the relative distribution of energy among these forces affects personality directly. Top of Form Bottom of Form The superego is the conscience that grows out of parental prohibitions, and it represents the moral component of the personality. Through the diminution of early narcissism, when the child begins to acknowledge its limits, the superego imposes itself as a kind of watchdog over the ego, making sure that the ... In it, Unger argues that Japanese stereotypes are utterly incorrect and the presumptions surrounding Japanese culture are outdated. • 14. The Analysis On Ephesians Prefacing The Book The Bible ... In the ESV study bible, the authors wrote an excerpt on Ephesians prefacing the author, title, date, background information, and a description of the ancient city of Ephesus. Relating to the author of Ephesians all scholars believed that Paul wrote the letter, until recent times where many scholars propose that an imitator or a follower of Paul wrote the letter. The scholars give two reasons for this theory, the first is the letter s style does not represent Pauline thought, and the second being the authors unfamiliarity with the recipients. In contrast, some scholars say there is ample proof of Pauline authorship; the first reason is the letter explicitly claims to be Paul s in Ephesians 1:1 and 3:1, and the second reason subsists in more analysis of the text and that it is similar to other Pauline texts. The final argument for Pauline authorship is the forcefulness of the author s speech mentioned in Ephesians 4:15, and verse 25. In these two verses, the argument that the author is unfamiliar with the audience stands debunked because the author commands of them and the author addresses the unity they all possess. Secondly, an important historical component for understanding the context of Ephesians is to know the date it is written and background information of why Paul wrote the letter. Scholars suggest that Paul wrote Ephesians in 62 AD when he was under house arrest in Rome, this conclusion comes from Paul mentioning his imprisonment in Ephesians 3:1, 4:1, and 6:20. ... At the same time though, we must be practical, smart and real or else Life might advantage of you. In writing we often see the battle of ideal vs real, especially when it comes to works centering on the topic of love. Poems like The Passionate Shepherd to His Love (Marlowe, 1599) and The Nymphs Reply to the Shepherd (Raleigh, 1599) are prime examples of the contrasting views, while prose like Eveline (Joyce, 1914) represents both sides throughout the story. Melodious birds, a bed a roses, a gown made of the finest wool who could turn down such an offer? If the speaker is to give his Love all that he can, then that must, surely, be love. That is what the Marlowe tries to convey in The Passionate Shepherd to His Love. The speaker paints an ideal picture of how their love will be and how if what he says appeals to his interest then they must come and be with him. This thought is explicitly represented in the final couplet of the poem, it says, If these delights thy mind may move,/ Then live with me and be my love. His love is persuasive. He wants the interest to consider the best of what it could be. We then see a response from Raleigh through his poem The Nymph s Reply to the Shepherd. In almost a form of mockery, Raleigh s poem blatantly contradicts Marlowe s. Raleigh uses his piece as a representation of real love, rather than ideal. At the beginning Bowbly (1969) ties it to a biological base origin and this has further given researchers to further study this parent child relationship, he believes that the attachment between a child and the caregiver creates a lasting impact over the entire lifetime of both parties. Attachment theory does not only focus on the relationship of the parent to child, but looks at it a dependence on each other, it emphasizes on the emotional, social, cognitive and behavioral components that ultimately reflects developmental changes over a long period of time (Howe 2006). The main point of this theory is that if the primary caregiver is dependable, it helps the child build a sense of security, because the child knows that the care giver is reliable so the child is more open to explore the world. From the beginning at infancy, people around influence how the child behaves, it is an indicator of how other future relationships the child encounters will grow. It is said that in the first year, the most important development is the creation of an attachment bond between a mother and the infant (McConnell Moss, 2011). However, even the most honor bound persons can be greatly influenced by the sin of pride; which can lead to the suffering of others. At 555 passengers, the A380 s seating capacity represents a 35% increase over the 747 400 in a standard three class configuration, along with a 50% larger cabin volume producing more space per passenger. If, however, the plane is ordered in an all economy class configuration, it can hold up to 853 passengers; its maximum certified carrying capacity. Airport compatibility The A380 was designed to fit within an 80 x 80 m airport gate[33], and can land or take off on any runway that can take a Boeing 747. However, airports used by the A380 in commercial service may need infrastructure modifications. Its large wingspan can require some taxiway and apron reconfigurations, to maintain safe separation margins when two of the aircraft pass each other. Taxiway shoulders may be required to be paved to reduce the likelihood of foreign object damage caused to (or by) the outboard engines, which overhang more than 25 m (80 ft) from the centre line of the aircraft. Any taxiway or runway bridge must be capable of supporting the A380 s maximum weight. The terminal gate must be sized such that the A380 s wings do not block adjacent gates, and may also provide multiple jetway bridges for simultaneous boarding on both decks. Service vehicles with lifts capable of reaching the upper deck must be obtained, as well as tractors capable of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. Imagery Test Anxiety Imagery Methods for Test Anxiety Test anxiety has always been an issue I have struggled with and it has only increased since I started University. My personal experience with test anxiety leads to physiological symptoms such as nervous jitter, accelerated heart beats and light headedness, all of which impacts my test taking skills and influence my decision making ability. This is a problem because although I am prepared with the knowledge for an exam, it still affects my judgement when writing my answers and thus causes an impact on my grades. A study by Rebecca Stephens (1992), Imagery: A Treatment for Nursing Student Anxiety , explained imagery methods that were proven effective among nursing students experiencing similar anxiety. Nursing students are subjected to midterms and exams as are students in other programs, and although the material is different it is the fear before writing a test that causes the anxiety. This makes it applicable to my specific situation because although I am a Human Kinetics major, I am required to take exams in all of my classes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 31. Abraham Lincoln Freedman Have you ever heard of Abraham Lincoln? Most Americans have, because he was one of the most loved, and most hated presidents we ever had. He didn t start that way though. He was born in Kentucky, in a one room, one window, hard packed dirt floor log cabin. He worked hard and was ambitious, and over time he became one of the most well known presidents of the United States. According to Russell Freedman, Lincoln was very ambitious and eager to prove himself. In Lincoln: a Photobiography Russell Freedman claims that Lincoln was ambitious. Lincoln s family was poor, so he tried to help them earn money. Then, when he was 17 years old, he got hired by a rich old man to row his son down the river, On a twelve hundred mile flat boat voyage to New Orleans. Lincoln earned 24 dollars for the three month voyage, which was a lot of money at the time. He must have been brave, because he didn t know the man he was traveling with, and he didn t know how long it would take. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Turning him from a boy who had a country accent to a man who could grab your thoughts and turn them toward what he thought. This also opened him to the idea of being a lawyer. Lincoln was ambitious according to Russell Freedman. Lincoln became a lawyer in 1830, then he joined Congress 17 years later in 1847. He was quickly rising out of the poor shop keeper business into the political business. This reminds me of President Trump, a businessman with no political background who just became president of the United States. • 32. The Impacts Of Classical Music In The 20th Century... The twentieth century music composition gave way to more incorporation to music as it was known. It was the time when musical rules could be reinvented, altered and in some cases completely ignored (Hansen, et al 154). This classical music was described by many different works such as, orchestral, solos, operas, concertos, symphonies, chamber music, and many others (Hansen, et al 168). As stated by Hansen, et al, Some musical styles within the modernist movement were impressionism, serialism, minimalism, electronic music, experimental music, and change music (160). All the musical styles were influenced through jazz but it was a moment of breakthrough for all the composers since all rules were ignored. Aaron Copland and Benjamin Britten were two composers of that century that shaped the way twentieth century classical music was viewed. The different elements of classical musical such as melody, harmony, texture, rhythm, timbre, and form are what characterized the twentieth century classical music. First, twentieth century music had taken a different approach than earlier music eras. There were varieties of differences which started from the instruments and the sounds that it produced to the complexity of the textures. The composers used new approaches and ideas to their compositions and broke many rules. The composers used the instruments and electronics to push ideas of serious music into the mainstream (Hansen, et al 169). The twentieth century was known for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Before we left, my mom gave me a visa gift card so I would able to buy stuff. I went to go use it and I noticed that I could only use it in the USA. When we got there, we got settled in at our family s place. The first night we had fish and chips on the shore of the North Sea. The first day we arrived there it was a lazy and went to go look at shops and shop. When we shopped we shopped for hours. My second cousin was getting married when we were there so we were there for her. They had their wedding by the North Sea. The weather for the wedding was perfect, but it rained when we were walking to the after party where we had a fun time. On the wedding day, my third cousin, named Hannah, did my hair for the wedding. During the wedding all of the males in the wedding wore kilts. We walked around in four different castles in Scotland and they all looked very similar. The castle I liked the best was the one in Inchcolm. When we were there my papa could not wait for bangers and mash. When we were shopping and walking around Edinburgh we saw Scottish bagpipe player. In the article, it states, Most experts blame the increase on two things: guns and drugs. Guns are now readily available, and kids involved in selling drugs are much more likely to use guns than they were ten years ago, say police ( John, 1). This quote is important because the easier it is to get guns and drugs, the easier it will be for people for under the age of eighteen to commit a serious crime. Also, it states in the article that kids are committing crimes and not caring as much because they know that they are under the age of eighteen and they know that they will not get as in much trouble as they would if they were tried as adults. He creates many unique and beautiful things in those first five days; however, only one of those created beings, humanity, received God s direct breath. In fact, before humanity was even created, God is recorded as saying in Genesis, Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness...(Holy Bible). God intentionally placed his own likeness into all of humanity. Consequently, as Bufford (2007) states, it seems every human life has significance and worth intrinsically woven into it. • 37. Glaucoma Research Paper A common misconception is that glaucoma is a singular disease, in fact, it is a collaboration of many diseases in the eyes that cause glaucoma. these diseases can often lead to loss of vision but, if caught early, glaucoma, or the smaller diseases which lead to it, can be treated. Like many other diseases, if caught early, the lasting effects will lessen. The most effected part of the eye is the optic nerve. The optic nerve s main purpose is to connect the retina and the brain, as to send what the human is seeing to the brain to process the visual information. The optic nerve contains more than one billion nerve fibers which each give off their own electrical impulses to send the visual information to the occipital lobes in the brain. The occipital lobe then processes the information which it receives. The most prominent type of glaucoma is Open Angle Glaucoma. Open Angle Glaucoma occurs due to the build up of fluid in the eye.
