Two Scavengers is set at some traffic lights in downtown San
Francisco at 9am. The whole poem is based around a freeze frame in time. The poet gives very
little description to the setting of the poem, and instead focuses mainly on the two working

According to the FBI (2007) the Beltway Snipers was a series of random murders that had
occurred around the Washington D.C. area during the month of October in 2002. The case was
closely studied and investigated by the Montgomery County Police Department and was led by
Chief Charles Moose with additional help from other government services such as the FBI. The
identities of these two men were discovered due to clues that were purposely left behind by the
perpetrators. Their names were John Allen Muhammad and Lee Boyd Malvo. During this time in
history, these two names were known to strike fear in people s hearts and make people think
twice about going outside and continuing their regular day to day activities. In the end, both of
Malvo and Muhammad were charged with life in prison, but Muhammad was also charged with

On May 31 June 1, 1921, a series of actions occurred in Greenwood, a small district in the northern
parts of Tulsa, Oklahoma, which are now called the Tulsa race Riots.
Being a segregated city like the rest of Oklahoma, many of Tulsa s African American citizens
resided in Greenwood an area composed of predominately African Americancommunities and
business locations. The discovery of oil is the number one reason why Tulsa s economy flourished.
There was an abundance of wealthy African Americans due to of this discovery. Because of the
affluence and success within the African American community going on in this one particular area,
it became known as the Black Wall Street.
The whole chain of events began on May 30, 1921 when Dick Rowland, a young black man,
allegedly assaulted a white elevator operator. Rowland was arrested the next day. However, outside
the courthouse a group of raging whites gathered to attempt to lynch Rowland while a group of
African Americans were protecting him to prevent the hanging. With the signal of one unintentional
gunshot, many others rang out leaving some from both groups dead. With word getting around
town of the riot, many angered whites stormed into the Greenwood District. Residencies were set
on fire and many businesses were looted and burned to the ground. Planes also flew by dropping

When I think about volunteering I think about how good it is to be apart of something, so
exciting and so great! Volunteering is a great way to get yourself out there and get known for
works of service and positivity, along with just doing a good deed!
I would say that volunteering, for Frisco Church was great. I volunteered in the children
department of the whole church. From checking kids in as they go up to class, to teaching

any other students in the regular general education classroom. The information that I have acquired

children with and without exceptionalities are expected to learn to write, read, and do math; higher
expectations can be set and with good instruction children with exceptionalities can excel in these
academic skills.

King by Bernard Cornwell, I noticed that there are both differences and similarities between the

Stein by Marguerite Duras, the main character, Lol Stein, goes through a journey to express her
true personality. In the passage, Lol has an affair with the narrator, Jack Hold, which shows her
transition as a person the most. Her internal transition into becoming an entirely different person is
highlighted by the author s use of repetition, diction, symbolism, and dialogue.
The repetition of the passage shows the confusion linked to Lol s transition. The repeated use of
rhetorical questions show the perplexity of Lol s transition. In the passage, the narrator says who is
there in the bed? Who does she think she is? The open endedness of the rhetorical question forces
the audience to evaluate Lol s present mental state. Due to the questions being rhetorical, no
answers are given leaving the audience in a state of confusion with little evidence to help identify

the narrative to address that he has many problems as a writer. He does this to try to consciously
address these problems and hopefully solve these problems. He believes that if these problems are

The first of the three is Garth s death. When Garth died he lost his best friend, one of the few

within a democracy have to sensitive and private information about governments, organisations,

information. The protection of sensitive information is considered paramount, yet anyone with
information that they feel is in the public interest and is faced with no avenues to make their
concerns known is turning to the internet as a platform for the swift dissemination of material and
a layer of anonymity (Savage 2013) and this new era of what is known as whistleblowing has
given rise to cyberethics.
According to the Congressional Research Service, whistleblowing is defined as making a
disclosure evidencing illegal or improper government (and corporate) activities (Whitaker cited in
Koh, 2012). The individuals who make these disclosures are termed whistleblowers, and while the
information they expose is protected by legislation and codes of conduct, they are usually not
afforded the same level of protection, and indeed, are open to prosecution for breaking the law.
The purpose of this report is to evaluate whether all citizens in a democracy should be protected
from criminalisation for exposing nepotism and corruption.
