Emily Point Of View
Point of view is a unique element of the story A rose for Emily; And there are more than one point of
view in the story. (The way the writer tell the story) At the beginning of the story, the narrator is called
in the first person plural pronoun we , so the reader can not know exactly who the character narrator
is. That person could be a man or a woman in the Jefferson town going to Miss Emily s funeral, a boy
who is looking at Miss Emily s house, a big, squarish frame one that had once been white, decorated
in the heavily lightsome style of the senventies . It s possible that the narrator is Miss Emily s servent,
Tobe, because only he could know her secret such as the story about Colonel Sartoris inventing an

written under the special point of views because the author William Faulkner is also a special person.
He was born after the Civil War of the United States of America, in a noble family of the Southern.
His grandfather had a important role in the headquarters of the Southern in the Civil War. Thus,

Reflection Paper On Ohio State Fair
Ohio State Fair Everyone remembers something about their childhood. We all remember one specific
day or event. We remember something or someone about our childhood. We remember our school
winter breaks, our long hot summer days and more. The perfect time to reflect though is in the
summer. Individuals have enough time to sacrifice in order to venture to their past. For children,
summer is permanent freedom for three months while for adults it is filled with memory lane. Last
summer, I was at the Ohio State Fair. It was a beautiful, sunny day. The wind was blowing and out of
the corner of my eye, I recognized a longtime friend from secondary school. We embraced each other
in friendship. I introduced him to my two beautiful children. He was with his two children also. When
I asked what he was doing there, he announced he had only come from Kentucky to attend the Ohio
State Fair. After the introductions, we decided to stay together as a group. It was a happy time and we
talked about our relationships. I told him about my beautiful wife of eight years. My friend could not
say the same. He had experienced a divorce with the mother of his children. We took a time to look at
the different animals, which then made us reflect back to Sierra Leone. At this moment, I remembered
had it not been for summer I would not have had enough time to process such a thought. We watched
our children ride roller coasters and simultaneously conversed about life and back home. All the

(2015) invited IPO firms from 18 countries to participate; the study considered 35 IPO firms in 15

The data collected was analyzed using fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) as an

success of the firm after the IPO; Judge et al. (2015) contended this approach was also appropriate for
the sample size. The dependent variable for this study was organizational capacity for change (OCC);
the independent variables employed were (a) industry stage of development, (b) national uncertainty
avoidance, (c) founder CEO presence, (d) organizational financial slack, and (e) top management team

Japanese Culture Shock Stereotypes Essay
Culture shock stereotypes I feel that coming to Japan helped break a lot of assumptions about
Japanese culture and also confirm knowledge I knew only from textbooks. The trip also made me
experience some culture shock but if anything it made the trip more interesting. I appreciated the irony
that was ever present. There were many customs both old and new I appreciated on the trip and helped
open my eyes to new experiences, observations, and interactions with people I normally would never
have a chance to meet. The Japanese people truly took elements of western culture and made it their
own.
One of my most memorable experiences was on the second night of Japan when we went to a baseball

Types Of Courtly Performance During The Modern Court
In the early modern court, the illusion of power could be just as important as power itself. If courtiers
participated in the various performances of the court, they had the potential to gain significant
amounts of influence and prestige. These types of courtly performances were shared by monarchs,
courtiers and lesser figures albeit in sometimes very distinct manners. This performance of the court
consisted of various different aspects, including: associating with influential individuals, royal
ceremonies, courtliness, and bodily performance. One type of courtly performance, which was
primarily a concern of the courtiers and lesser court figures, was the association and ingratiation of
one s self with influential court figures in order to gain status and respect. This was a performance in
that courtiers were, in a way, required to form relationships on the basis of status and in the court
friends were primarily a tool to advance one s standing in the court. A prime example of this is
William Chiffinch the Page of the Backstairs of Charles II s court. A man of humble origins, Chiffinch
was able to rise to a position of significant power and influence through his connection to a powerful
individual, the king. Like many of Charles II s household servants... Chiffinch had begun this intimacy
with the king before the Restoration. He and his elder brother, Thomas, had been introduced to the
Prince of Wales and Charles I s Oxford camp by Bishop Duppa of Salisbury (Allen

Juxtaposition Song We Re Going To Be Friends
I choose the song We re Going to Be Friends , By The White Stripes for my juxtaposition song. The
topic I have chosen is bullying. We re Going to be Friends , is about a child that is getting ready to go
back to school. The song tells about how he is getting all of his school supplies ready and thinking of
someone named Suzy Lee that may or may not be there. Walk with me, Suzy Lee Through the park
and by the tree. We will rest upon the ground and look at all the bugs we found Safely walk to school
without a sound Safely walk to school without a sound (lines 7 12). This figure makes him feel
confident walking to school. He tells about the journey that they go on to go to school, and how they

him. Many bullies tease those who talk to imaginary people. Walk with me, Suzy Lee. Through the

will be managed in two distinct phases: „ Profitability analysis: This study process is simple but
required the participation of all departments. Network Planning, Engineering, Filed Operations, Sales,
Finance and marketing all have to be part of the study. Business practices and daily processes must be
reviewed and reevaluated. The profitability analysis study includes a review of the actual costs of
maintaining network presence in a given market, the current revenue, future forecast, equipment
decommissioning and displacement costs. „ Decommission implementation (if necessary): This phase
would require participation from the implementation organizations in addition to Network Planning,
Customer Service, Engineering, and other implementation organizations. Measurable success: The
success of this project will be defined by three important measurable aspects. All the deadlines and
scheduled deliverables must be met. Any length of time spent with the current cost and revenue
structures in place mean lack of profitability for that much longer. The project manager will track
these deliverables and the associated dates. As part of the project team, all members must be

The Effects Of Beauty Standards On Body Image
The Effects of Beauty Standards
Understanding the effects of beauty standards to both men and women requires research of both sexes
and different orientations in regard to the influence the media has on them. While cultural standards
contribute to beauty standards, media carries most of the responsibility for swaying public opinion of
attractiveness. In order to find an answer as to why certain beauty standards currently exist, one must
examine the root cause: media.
Literature Reviewed
First Group of Studies Media and Body Image. In order to prevent continued negative effects on body
image by the media, it has been suggested that images that have been changed need to have labels to
prevent body dissatisfaction (Slater et al., 2012). Wang et al. (2010) provided evidence that both men
and women attempt to appear like the people portrayed in magazines. Men were influenced by health
and sports magazines, whereas women attempted to look like the models in entertainment and fashion
magazines (Wang, 2010). Participants in the Slater et al. (2012) study showed that warning labels may
help prevent the negative effects of media images, as they portray an unrealistic ideal for the human
body (Slater et al., 2012; Wang, 2010).
Second Groups of Studies Body Dissatisfaction. The development of removing pubic hair is caused by
body dissatisfaction, which relates to one s choice, physical attractiveness, and other key themes
(Braun et al., 2013). Originally a norm for Anglo/Western

Mediator Case Presentation
The Dispute at hand has been referred to mediation upon the suggestion of the Court. I have been
identified as the independent mediator for this dispute. My main objective is to fully diagnose the
situation by gathering and organizing all the relevant information. I aim to do so by building
credibility, fostering a positive relationship with the parties, and educating them about the mediation
process while securing their commitment to this process. In order to achieve this act it will require
broad psychological control and people management. Over the course of mediation procedure I will
apply the different elements of principled negotiation to achieve an agreement that is competent and
improves the existing hostile relationship of both parties.
Agreement
An essential element to the operation of the mediation process is that both parties agree and consent to
the intervention before preparatory activities begin. Therefore, a clearly written agreement should be
drafted. I plan to draft this document with the input from all parties, in order to aid interpretation and
minimise future ambiguity. The document will describe the clear intent and agreement between the
parties and will be signed by all parties and their counsels. The agreement will pay particular focus on
the following points:

400 kV high tension transmission lines near Madrid
Electric power transmission or high voltage electric transmission is the bulk transfer of electrical
energy, from generating power plants to substations located near population centers. This is distinct
from the local wiring between high voltage substations and customers, which is typically referred to as
electric power distribution. Transmission lines, when interconnected with each other, become high
voltage transmission networks. In the US, these are typically referred to as power grids or just the grid

High voltage overhead conductors are not covered by insulation. The conductor material is nearly
always an aluminium alloy, made into several strands and possibly reinforced with steel strands.
Copper was sometimes used for overhead transmission but aluminium is lower in weight for only
marginally reduced performance, and much lower in cost. Overhead conductors are a commodity
supplied by several companies worldwide. Improved conductor material and shapes are regularly used
to allow increased capacity and modernize transmission circuits. Conductor sizes range from 12 mm2
(#6 American wire gauge) to 750 mm2 (1,590,000 circular mils area), with varying resistance and
current carrying capacity. Thicker wires would lead to a relatively small increase in capacity due to the
skin effect, that causes most of the current to flow close to the surface of the wire.
Today, transmission level voltages are usually considered to be 110 kV and above. Lower voltages
such as 66 kV and 33 kV are usually considered

AB1
October 3, 2017 Abstract
The techniques used in this lab are quantitative transfer and vacuum filtration with the reaction of
8.001 grams of copper (II) sulfate, CuSO4, and 2.0153 grams of iron powder, Fe. The goal of this
experiment was to determine the product of copper (II) sulfate with iron. The reaction occurred and
2.4469 grams of solid copper, Cu, precipitated; therefore, showing that the limiting reagent was iron.
The iron oxidation state was iron (II) because iron (II) sulfate was formed during the reaction. The
percent yield of the reaction was 106.7%.

The solid was washed over vacuum filtration with a 15.0mL DI water rinse. Then the solid was
washed again by four 15.0mL rinses of acetone. The copper was dried over the vacuum filtration for
exactly 10 minutes, so there was no excess water and the copper did not oxidize. Then the mass of the
crucible was taken again with the product included using the same analytic balance as before, which
came out to be 32.9490 grams. The amount of solid copper collected was 2.4469 grams, calculated by
subtracting the initial weight of the crucible from the final weight.
Results
The empty sintered glass crucible had a mass of 30.5021 grams (table 1). Then the reaction occurred
and the copper precipitate was collected the crucible plus product had a mass of 32.9490 grams.
Therefore, the mass of the precipitated copper was 2.4469 grams. The moles of CuSO4 and Fe used
and the moles of Cu precipitated are shown in Table 2.

The Issues Of The Field Of Psychology
The field of psychology is steadily expanding due to the progression in technology, which is being
driven by the advancement of civilization. More and more time is spent on the internet, which has
gradually altered the method in which primary communication takes place. Previously face to face
interaction was touted as the primary method of interfacing with one another, now communication via
the internet is almost mandatory to establish and maintain healthy relationships (Greenfield and Yan,
2006). This is especially true amongst children, adolescents and teenagers. The need for psychologists
have never been greater in order to assess how individuals are able to acclimate to this societal
change. Traditionally, there are two methods in which children, adolescents and teenagers
communicate via the internet, through social media and video games. Each primary method presents
their own unique social challenge. In response to the issues in of teenagers over use of the internet,
psychologists are providing assistance for internet addictions at a greater rate. The first method
utilized by mental health professionals is traditionally counseling and if those efforts fail, then the
potential exists for adolescents to be placed on medications. In order to establish an informative
baseline, the use of social media amongst children, adolescents and teenagers needs to be addressed.
Developmental psychologists have had a difficult time trying to identify the casual and driving

Origin Of Baseball Essay
The Origin Of Baseball With upwards of ten million people participating in the sport of baseball in the
United States alone, it is apparent that baseball is one of the world s most popular sports. Throughout
the years, the sport of baseball has evolved from a humble game played on empty sandlots to America
s national pastime. The game has come a long way, but how did this game come to be? Everything has
its humble beginnings, and baseball is no different. Games that resemble baseball have been around
for centuries, and they have led to the development of baseball itself. The game of baseball originated
from a game called rounders. Rounders consisted of two teams, a striking team and a fielding team.
The striking team s goal was to hit the ball in order to score rounders, or runs, in modern baseball. The
rules were similar to the rules of baseball today. There were two teams consisting of nine players and
four bases. One difference between rounders and baseball is that there is no foul territory in rounders.
Any hit ball is in play and the player may run. In baseball, the ball must be hit in between the foul
lines painted on the third and first base lines (Olmos). Prior to the year 1845 rounders and cricket were
the only official games related to baseball that existed, until an individual named Alexander
Cartwright wrote the first official rules of baseball. He wrote these rules for a baseball club named the
Knickerbockers ( Origins Of Baseball ). This was the

Ode On A Grecian Urn Essay
Essay on Ode on a Grecian Urn
In John Keats s poem Ode on a Grecian Urn, the reader is given descriptions of the urn. The urn is old
and Keats is acting as the interpreter of the urn. This essay will argue that the poem Ode on a Grecian
Urn conveys the idea that art shows an idealized human existence that cannot be achieved by humans.
In stanza two, John Keats introduces the scene of two young lovers on the urn to show idealized love.
There is a young man and woman on the Urn. The young man is listening the young woman sing.
Keats descries her voice: Heard melodies are sweet, but those unheard are sweeter; ... Her singing is
sweeter than any human can imagine. Thus the scene on the urn has a better vocal ability than humans
despite being mute; meaning that art shows a better human existence. Later on in the stanza Keats
states: Through winning near the goal yet, do not grieve; She cannot fade, through thou has not thy
bliss, For ever wilt thou love and she be fair! In these lines, the young man doesn t have bliss because
bliss would be catching the girl. The bliss part will only last a short period, and is not as powerful as
the emotions right before the catch. Thus the young man should not be sad that he doesn t have bliss
because he will forever love her and she will forever be beautiful. In the human world love ends and
people grow old. The scene on the urn will always show love, and the people will never grow old.
Thus art has the ability to last; therefore the

Influences Of The Martial Culture In The Northern Dynasty
3. The influences of the martial culture in the Northern Dynasty 3.1 Ensured the fighting capacity, and
also shaped a valiant spirit The militarism in the Northern Dynasties contributed to the generally good
physical quality of the people and made the military have sufficient source to recruit from. And the
atmosphere reacted to the social culture. That is a big advantage compared to the Southern Dynasties.
The latter put too much importance in the metaphysics. Even the emperor of the Southern Dynasty
couldn t ride a horse to run for his life, which led to the failure of their war. 3.2 Promoted the
communication between different people and the regional integration The enhanced communication

The discussion above on the warrior spirit has shown its complexity and beauty. Due to its specific
historical and cultural background, the sports culture was quite popular throughout the Northern
Dynasty, and it is true that there are always some restrictions on this popularity. The social
background, the traditions, the cultural conventions, and more factors could all be relative to the
public s attitude towards martialism and physical education. Though the Northern Dynasty is a hard
act to follow, more effort needs to be made so as to develop the sports

What Are The Soft Factors Of TQM And Organizational...
Oakland s Soft factors of TQM and Organizational Performance:
Examining the Impact and Relationship
1.Introduction
Total Quality Management (TQM) is a long term process the involves commitment, at all employee
levels, and continuous improvement as to how activities are managed and controlled by organizations
to present quality goods or services that satisfy internal and external customers need and
expectation(Miller, 1996). TQM is a bundle of tools, techniques, processes, principles and experts
practices that over the years has been evolved and improved(Shiba,Graham and Walden, 1993). To
name a few, researchers who significantly contributed in evolving TQM philosophy and practices, and
tool and techniques are: Walter Shewhart, Edwards Deming, Joseph Juran, Armand Feigenbaum,
Philip Crosby, Genichi Taguchi, and Kaoru Ishikawa (Boyer and Verma, 2010). In spite of differences
in their TQM philosophy approach and definition, the fundamental principal goals of all TQM are the
same. Oakland s idea of TQM does not differ either in that TQM objectives are fulfilled by realizing ...

Analyzing Rachel Carson’s “the Obligation to Endure” Essay
Analyzing Rachel Carson s The Obligation to Endure In her essay The Obligation to Endure , Rachel
Carson alerts the public to the dangers of modern industrial pollution. She writes about the harmful
consequences of lethal materials being released into the environment. She uses horrifying evidence, a
passionate tone, audience, and the overall structure of her essay to express to her readers that the
pollution created by man wounds the earth. There are many different ways that pollution can harm the
environment, from the nuclear explosions discharging toxic chemicals into the air, to the venomous
pesticides sprayed on plants that kills vegetation and sickens cattle. The adjustments to these
chemicals would take generations. Rachel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is an efficient strategy. It makes her audience want to get involved and preserve the natural
resources the environment has to offer. In her essay she describes the devastating effects chemicals
have on the environment with such conviction; it might make the reader feel obligated to make
changes in his or her own life to help the natural world. Rachel Carson uses an assertive tone to get
her point across. She has a one sided argument and is very aggressive to those who oppose her point
of view. She is very effective at stating her opinion to her audience. In her essay Rachel Carson targets
anyone who will listen as her audience. She wants to inform human beings of the effects chemicals
have on the environment. Rachel Carson s audience had little knowledge of the effects radiation and
pesticides might have on nature or to themselves. She successfully enlightened her audience to the
harm man was causing to the environment not only presently, she also wrote of future ramifications.
She predicts Future historians may well be amazed by our distorted sense of proportion. How could
intelligent beings seek to control a few unwanted species by methods that contaminated the entire

the eyes of future generations. Rachel Carson used cause and effect, problem and solution, compare

Investment And Conflict Of Romantic Relationships
Investment and Conflict in Romantic Relationships Com 620 Mark Pace and Bo Zhang Investment
Model The theory of relationship investment is an effort to understand maintenance of ongoing
relationships. This model is an expansion of Kelly and Thirbaut s (1978) interdependence theory,
which specifies that satisfaction is a function of the reward value of a relationship, relative to
expectations, and that commitment stems from the superiority of a relationship, compared with viable
alternatives. Interdependence assumes that we evaluate the rewards and costs of our own and our
partner s various behaviors in a relationship, and that both partner s actions and preferences impact the
nature of the relationship. Rusbult (1980) expanded interdependence theory to include that
commitment was determined by satisfaction, quality of alternatives, and investments with
subcategories of intrinsic, and extrinsic. Intrinsic includes example ideas like emotion and time while
extrinsic includes ideas like mutual friends and shared activities. Rustbult s expansion included the
value of resources gained through involvement in a relationship and also resources devoted to
developing the association. This model views the ending of a relationship as a loss of resources.
Further research such as longitudinal studies on the topic of investment have only strengthened the
theory (Bui, Peplau, Hill 1996). The investment model predicts that commitment should increase as

Tetanus According to the CDC states how Clostridium tetani is the bacteria responsible for the often

pronounced by rigor spasms of the voluntary muscles. Tetanus is caused by the exotoxin produced by
Clostridium tetani. Tetanus was discovered in 1884 by Carle and Rattone by injecting pus of a human
tetanus case into animals. There are three different types of Tetanus that can be diagnosed which are
cephalic, local, and generalized. These disease are found everywhere in the soil, dust, or even saliva.
Tetanus has numerous symptoms, has no cure, and usually one out of four people die from it. Tetanus
is the only vaccine preventable non contagious disease. Tetanus usually has wounds contaminated

Lauren Banowsky The Hold Dance Analysis
In the hold by Lauren Banowsky, a contemporary dance incorporated with ballet techniques is
performed in a dark and spacious stage. The dance demonstrates the constant hold from one living its
life to the fullest potential due to dragging the past, with the urge to obtain freedom or a sense of
relief. The choreography being displayed by two female dancers consisted of a negative, intense
energy, constant moving towards the ground, and a dragging type of movement due to the stretchy
dress. Most of the dance moves are considered characteristics of modern dance due to the movements
towards the ground and dancing barefooted. Doris Humphrey s technique of fall and recovery is a
perfect example to the coming of the ground intensively being presented ... Show more content on

There was a repetition of the lyric, I been caught in fire which is meaningful to the dance because the
word fire in this dance can mean death, hell, or sadness. Based on the choreography and costumes the
lyrics helped understood the story line for the dance. The style of music chosen complimented the
choreographic intent of a melancholy type of movement upon the performance. The music affected the
dynamics of the dancer s movements because it allowed a more realistic connection within the dancer.
The music choice benefited the dance because the mini pauses throughout the song allowed the dancer
to structure the performance in a more impacting way. The music style can be related to the Martha
Graham and Doris Humphrey style of music for dancing due to the pace of the music and the type of
movements. In addition, the music would have been more touching if it was sang by a female rather
than a male to have more association with the female dancers feelings. The music is a key element
throughout the performance because it allowed the dancers to dance to the rhythm of the melody and
perform with confidence because of the guidance from the music. Given these points, the rhythm,
melody, and pauses the music brought to the performance was prosperous for the choreographer,
which brought a gloomy mood to the audience with a unique type of music and

Advising in Schools
Advising is not truly a difficult task but one that requires practice and patience for success. Faculty
and staff are given only a few instructions for advising and facilitating students and student groups.
Most learn by experience and so act as resource persons for others. Training for advisers is limited and
having to balance both administrative positions and extracurricular activities may become a weighted
issue. With so many benefits of advising including the increase of student academic success,
satisfaction and retention (Lucas and Murry, 2002), advising becomes a worthwhile venture even as a
new faculty, staff or employee. Laird (2007) reveals three relevant tips for advising which I will
borrow. His first tip is to establish a Comfortable setting, the other is to remember the golden rule
which incidentally is my favorite and the final would be to know your advisees.
Establish a Comfortable Setting
Advisees may be more receptive to conversations when they are comfortable. The student may
disclose pertinent information, that way; the advising session can be easily managed. Such a
conversation builds rapport. Rapport is marked by trust and understanding. The same way in which I
hold a relationship with my family doctor to disclose otherwise embarrassing conditions I would not
disclose to peers, I want the student to trust me in that respectful manner. Rapport promotes open
communication and encourages the student or advisees desire to participate in activities

Imagery And Symbolism In The Sick Rose By William Blake

In this essay will be discussed how imagery and symbolism, used within the poem The Sick Rose by
William Blake, contributes to the themes of the poem which is love, sexuality, violence and mortality.
Firstly, all the themes will be discussed in detail to their meaning within this nursery style type of
poem. Secondly, poetic devices such as apostrophe, personification and diction will be discussed to
explain how these devices contribute to the imagery in the poem. Thirdly, symbolism and the type of
symbolism used within the poem will be critically discussed in the context of the poem and the era in
which the poem was written in. This will help better ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Due to the nature of the poem s content it can be said that the worm is a dark entity that does its work
at night (line 3) when it is mostly invisible to others (line 2). The fact that the speaker calls the worm
invisible could also mean that the worm has hidden intentions and dark secrets. In one opinion the
poems themes can be linked if you think about the content in a critical matter. The rose is being
infected by a worm which might as well be a person that forces his love upon the rose . This person
might as well be a rapist and he can [fly] in the night...in the howling storm (line 3 4). Rape and sexual
actions mostly take place at night time which explains line three. Eventually the aggressor or rapist
finds the roses bed of crimson joy (line7 8) which is most likely the bed of passion/ pleasure seeing as
red is a passionate colour referring to romance and love. The aggressor or rapist shares his dark secret
love which could be rape that eventually kills the rose/ victim. Therefore, the theme of violence is
relevant because rape and/ or murder are acts of violence, the theme of sex is relevant because that is
what most rapist are interested in and the theme of love is relevant because even though this it is a
twisted view, the love depicted by the worm (line 2) is indeed a type of

The audience must realize that the concept of the song is to fight the urge of seduction. The Siren s
voices are seductive to the all the men who will listen. Furthermore, temptation is a struggling event
that kills people s inner beliefs. This adds to the singer starting to believe that he is not strong enough.
However, he knows that he will keep fighting. With the same concept, John William Waterhouse s
painting Ulysses and the Sirens gives off the idea to use a contrast with darker and lighter colors.
Ulysses and the Sirens shows Odysseus and his crew surrounded by seven Sirens. When looking at
this picture, the viewer might feel a sudden flash of chills because of how dark the scene is. It forces
the viewer to take a closer look at the scene and see what is really happening with Odysseus and his
men. Waterhouse s painting also shows a dark scene with light peeking through the two cliffs
(Waterhouse). No hope is given off with this scene. The concept is that temptation will beat the men
and it will force them to give up. The men are believed to have no hope until they reach the end of the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Calcium Phosphate Tablets
Calcium Phosphate Ceramics (CPC)
Calcium phosphate ceramics are a type of ceramics with varying calcium to phosphate ratio, the
important properties of calcium phosphate biomaterials are their bioresorption and bioactivity. The
most widely used calcium phosphate based bioceramics are hydroxyapatite (HAP) and β tricalcium
phosphate (β TCP).
Synthetic Hydroxyapatite (HA) is a calcium phosphate whose stoichiometric formula corresponds to
Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2 with calcium to phosphate ratio is 1.67, it is the most stable phase of various
calcium phosphates. It is stable in body fluid and in dry or moist air up to 1200°C and does not

A disadvantage of bioactive glasses is that theygenerally possess low fracture toughness values and

Bioverit glass ceramics, all of which come under class A bioactive materials. The A/W glass ceramic
is produced by partially crystallising the glass matrix that occurs after prolonged heating of the
bioactive glass, to promote nucleation of crystallisation. A/W glass ceramics show higher bending

Realism Constructivism
The U.S government has been in the past make several trials promote democracy within their state and
in the whole world. There are various ways through which there are developments of democracy by
different administrations of the United States. The approaches to democratic promotion range from
realism, liberalism and constructivism (Carothers, 55).
Realism is seen to offer democracy from a perspective of both a classical and structural realism
(Monten, 112 156). Democracy promotion through realism may be viewed as a situation when
democracy may reduce some the causes of conflict cited by realists, the causes may not eliminate

Advocacy for democracy by the U.S have always been in terms of two main methods. The U.S
government has been applying either the projection of values approach or the projection of power
approach. For easy understanding, power projection in advocacy for democracy may be applied when
dealing with deadly issues such as war, terror and other forms of conflict. As the U.S have been in
need of seeing the world a peaceful place, whenever there is a war or terror threat in a country, they
sometimes come in by carrying out offensive attacks. Attacks may be on terror groups with an
intention of stopping them from causing harm to the innocent people. When the U.S government uses
the power to address a situation or calm a war, then they shall have projected power. However, at
some point when the U.S presidents have been visiting other countries, for instance, when President
Obama recently visited Kenya, in Africa, he was complaining about the need to live a corruption free
life. At such situations, it will be upon the country to listen and adopt the wishes of the U.S. When

Essay on Karl Marx s Estranged Labor
Karl Marx s Estranged Labor In Karl Marx s early writing on estranged labor there is a clear and
prevailing focus on the plight of the laborer. Marx s writing on estranged labor is an attempt to draw a
stark distinction between property owners and workers. In the writing Marx argues that the worker
becomes estranged from his labor because he is not the recipient of the product he creates. As a result
labor is objectified, that is labor becomes the object of mans existence. As labor is objectified man
becomes disillusioned and enslaved. Marx argues that man becomes to be viewed as a commodity
worth only the labor he creates and man is further reduced to a subsisting animal void of any capacity
of freedom except the will to labor. For ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He argues that this situation is analogous to a man and his religion. Marx writes, The more man puts
into God the less he retains in himself....The worker puts his life into the object, but now his life no
longer belongs to him but to the object. The result of the worker belonging to the object is that he is
enslaved. The worker belongs to something else and his actions are dictated by that thing. For Marx,
labor turns man into a means. Workers become nothing more than the capital necessary to produce a
product. Labor for Marx reduces man to a means of production. As a means of production man is
diminished to a subsisting enslaved creature void of his true nature. In this condition he is reduced to
the most detrimental state of man: one in which he is estranged from himself. To help expand on this
theme it is useful to look at Marx s allegory of man s life activity. Of the variety of reasons Marx
argues man is estranged from his labor, probably the most significant is his belief that labor estranges
man from himself. Marx argues that the labor the worker produces does not belong to the worker so in
essence the worker does not belong to the worker. By virtue of this condition Marx argues the worker
is enslaved. Enslavement for Marx is a condition alien to man and he becomes estranged from
himself. For Marx, man estranged from himself is stripped of his very nature. Not only because

We remember something or someone about our childhood. We remember our school winter breaks, our long hot summer days and more. The perfect time to reflect though is in the summer. Individuals have enough time to sacrifice in order to venture to their past. For children, summer is permanent freedom for three months while for adults it is filled with memory lane. Last summer, I was at the Ohio State Fair. It was a beautiful, sunny day. The wind was blowing and out of the corner of my eye, I recognized a longtime friend from secondary school. We embraced each other in friendship. I introduced him to my two beautiful children. He was with his two children also. When I asked what he was doing there, he announced he had only come from Kentucky to attend the Ohio State Fair. After the introductions, we decided to stay together as a group. It was a happy time and we talked about our relationships. I told him about my beautiful wife of eight years. My friend could not say the same. He had experienced a divorce with the mother of his children. We took a time to look at the different animals, which then made us reflect back to Sierra Leone. At this moment, I remembered had it not been for summer I would not have had enough time to process such a thought. We watched our children ride roller coasters and simultaneously conversed about life and back home. All the children ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These propositions were used to (a) study IPOs in multiple developed and developing economies, (b) study theory based predictors for change in IPO firms, and (c) employ fuzzy set analysis to examine interdependence between multi level predictors (Judge et al., 2015). Judge et al. (2015) invited IPO firms from 18 countries to participate; the study considered 35 IPO firms in 15 economies; data was collected to study the causal conditions. The data collected was analyzed using fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) as an instrument to assess the causal relationship between the conditions prior to the IPO and the degree of success of the firm after the IPO; Judge et al. • 7. Japanese Culture Shock Stereotypes Essay Culture shock stereotypes I feel that coming to Japan helped break a lot of assumptions about Japanese culture and also confirm knowledge I knew only from textbooks. The trip also made me experience some culture shock but if anything it made the trip more interesting. I appreciated the irony that was ever present. There were many customs both old and new I appreciated on the trip and helped open my eyes to new experiences, observations, and interactions with people I normally would never have a chance to meet. The Japanese people truly took elements of western culture and made it their own. One of my most memorable experiences was on the second night of Japan when we went to a baseball game and the customs there are crazy Both teams were really into the game even when losing they d chant wave their flags and dance or clap their hands. They blew up balloons we thought until they burst but it was actually to let them go to make noise to cheer their team on. They dance and click sticks together in time to rally their teams fighting spirit. It was Tiger s vs Marines and the Tigers were The better team both cheering and playing wise. However, I like rooting for the marine because they were the underdogs. If courtiers participated in the various performances of the court, they had the potential to gain significant amounts of influence and prestige. These types of courtly performances were shared by monarchs, courtiers and lesser figures albeit in sometimes very distinct manners. This performance of the court consisted of various different aspects, including: associating with influential individuals, royal ceremonies, courtliness, and bodily performance. One type of courtly performance, which was primarily a concern of the courtiers and lesser court figures, was the association and ingratiation of one s self with influential court figures in order to gain status and respect. This was a performance in that courtiers were, in a way, required to form relationships on the basis of status and in the court friends were primarily a tool to advance one s standing in the court. A prime example of this is William Chiffinch the Page of the Backstairs of Charles II s court. A man of humble origins, Chiffinch was able to rise to a position of significant power and influence through his connection to a powerful individual, the king. Like many of Charles II s household servants... Chiffinch had begun this intimacy with the king before the Restoration. While cultural standards contribute to beauty standards, media carries most of the responsibility for swaying public opinion of attractiveness. In order to find an answer as to why certain beauty standards currently exist, one must examine the root cause: media. Literature Reviewed First Group of Studies Media and Body Image. In order to prevent continued negative effects on body image by the media, it has been suggested that images that have been changed need to have labels to prevent body dissatisfaction (Slater et al., 2012). Men were influenced by health and sports magazines, whereas women attempted to look like the models in entertainment and fashion magazines (Wang, 2010). Participants in the Slater et al. Throughout the years, the sport of baseball has evolved from a humble game played on empty sandlots to America s national pastime. The game has come a long way, but how did this game come to be? Everything has its humble beginnings, and baseball is no different. Games that resemble baseball have been around for centuries, and they have led to the development of baseball itself. The game of baseball originated from a game called rounders. Rounders consisted of two teams, a striking team and a fielding team. The striking team s goal was to hit the ball in order to score rounders, or runs, in modern baseball. The rules were similar to the rules of baseball today. There were two teams consisting of nine players and four bases. One difference between rounders and baseball is that there is no foul territory in rounders. Any hit ball is in play and the player may run. In baseball, the ball must be hit in between the foul lines painted on the third and first base lines (Olmos). The urn is old and Keats is acting as the interpreter of the urn. This essay will argue that the poem Ode on a Grecian Urn conveys the idea that art shows an idealized human existence that cannot be achieved by humans. In stanza two, John Keats introduces the scene of two young lovers on the urn to show idealized love. There is a young man and woman on the Urn. The young man is listening the young woman sing. Keats descries her voice: Heard melodies are sweet, but those unheard are sweeter; ... Her singing is sweeter than any human can imagine. Thus the scene on the urn has a better vocal ability than humans despite being mute; meaning that art shows a better human existence. Later on in the stanza Keats states: Through winning near the goal yet, do not grieve; She cannot fade, through thou has not thy bliss, For ever wilt thou love and she be fair! In these lines, the young man doesn t have bliss because bliss would be catching the girl. The bliss part will only last a short period, and is not as powerful as the emotions right before the catch. Thus the young man should not be sad that he doesn t have bliss because he will forever love her and she will forever be beautiful. In the human world love ends and people grow old. The scene on the urn will always show love, and the people will never grow old. Thus art has the ability to last; therefore the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 26. Investment And Conflict Of Romantic Relationships Investment and Conflict in Romantic Relationships Com 620 Mark Pace and Bo Zhang Investment Model The theory of relationship investment is an effort to understand maintenance of ongoing relationships. This model is an expansion of Kelly and Thirbaut s (1978) interdependence theory, which specifies that satisfaction is a function of the reward value of a relationship, relative to expectations, and that commitment stems from the superiority of a relationship, compared with viable alternatives. Interdependence assumes that we evaluate the rewards and costs of our own and our partner s various behaviors in a relationship, and that both partner s actions and preferences impact the nature of the relationship. Rusbult (1980) expanded interdependence theory to include that commitment was determined by satisfaction, quality of alternatives, and investments with subcategories of intrinsic, and extrinsic. Intrinsic includes example ideas like emotion and time while extrinsic includes ideas like mutual friends and shared activities. Rustbult s expansion included the value of resources gained through involvement in a relationship and also resources devoted to developing the association. This model views the ending of a relationship as a loss of resources. The choreography being displayed by two female dancers consisted of a negative, intense energy, constant moving towards the ground, and a dragging type of movement due to the stretchy dress. The style of music chosen complimented the choreographic intent of a melancholy type of movement upon the performance. The music affected the dynamics of the dancer s movements because it allowed a more realistic connection within the dancer. The music choice benefited the dance because the mini pauses throughout the song allowed the dancer to structure the performance in a more impacting way. The music style can be related to the Martha Graham and Doris Humphrey style of music for dancing due to the pace of the music and the type of movements. In addition, the music would have been more touching if it was sang by a female rather than a male to have more association with the female dancers feelings. The audience must realize that the concept of the song is to fight the urge of seduction. The Siren s voices are seductive to the all the men who will listen. Furthermore, temptation is a struggling event that kills people s inner beliefs. This adds to the singer starting to believe that he is not strong enough. However, he knows that he will keep fighting. With the same concept, John William Waterhouse s painting Ulysses and the Sirens gives off the idea to use a contrast with darker and lighter colors. Ulysses and the Sirens shows Odysseus and his crew surrounded by seven Sirens. When looking at this picture, the viewer might feel a sudden flash of chills because of how dark the scene is. It forces the viewer to take a closer look at the scene and see what is really happening with Odysseus and his men. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Calcium Phosphate Tablets Calcium Phosphate Ceramics (CPC) Calcium phosphate ceramics are a type of ceramics with varying calcium to phosphate ratio, the important properties of calcium phosphate biomaterials are their bioresorption and bioactivity. The most widely used calcium phosphate based bioceramics are hydroxyapatite (HAP) and β tricalcium phosphate (β TCP). Synthetic Hydroxyapatite (HA) is a calcium phosphate whose stoichiometric formula corresponds to Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2 with calcium to phosphate ratio is 1.67, it is the most stable phase of various calcium phosphates. It is stable in body fluid and in dry or moist air up to 1200°C and does not decompose and has shown to be bioactive due to its resorbable nature. It is similar to bone mineral and is widely used as a filler, spacer and bone graft substitute. Synthetic Hydroxyapatite can be prepared in either dense or macroporous forms. Porous HA is osteoconductive (The phenomenon of new bone ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A disadvantage of bioactive glasses is that theygenerally possess low fracture toughness values and hence poor mechanical strength, especially in porous form. This leads to limited applications in load bearing situations. An early significant modification of the heat treatment to form crystalline particles in a bioactive glass matrix led to the development of apatite/wollastonite (A/W), Ceravital and Bioverit glass ceramics, all of which come under class A bioactive materials. The A/W glass ceramic is produced by partially crystallising the glass matrix that occurs after prolonged heating of the bioactive glass, to promote nucleation of crystallisation. A/W glass ceramics show higher bending strength than bioactive glasses due to the assembly of apatite phases reinforced by ß wolastonite (CaSiO3), which is believed to be the reason for the increased fracture toughness that makes it a better match to bone for load bearing ... There are various ways through which there are developments of democracy by different administrations of the United States. The approaches to democratic promotion range from realism, liberalism and constructivism (Carothers, 55). Realism is seen to offer democracy from a perspective of both a classical and structural realism (Monten, 112 156). Democracy promotion through realism may be viewed as a situation when democracy may reduce some the causes of conflict cited by realists, the causes may not eliminate those in conflict. For realism, that is democratic peace, and that is when there is democracy in a country. Such democracies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Advocacy for democracy by the U.S have always been in terms of two main methods. The U.S government has been applying either the projection of values approach or the projection of power approach. For easy understanding, power projection in advocacy for democracy may be applied when dealing with deadly issues such as war, terror and other forms of conflict. As the U.S have been in need of seeing the world a peaceful place, whenever there is a war or terror threat in a country, they sometimes come in by carrying out offensive attacks. Attacks may be on terror groups with an intention of stopping them from causing harm to the innocent people. When the U.S government uses the power to address a situation or calm a war, then they shall have projected power. However, at some point when the U.S presidents have been visiting other countries, for instance, when President Obama recently visited Kenya, in Africa, he was complaining about the need to live a corruption free life. At such situations, it will be upon the country to listen and adopt the wishes of the U.S. When Obama was showing Kenyans on how best their lives could be without corruption, he was projecting values to the Kenyan government and African countries in ... • 38. Essay on Karl Marx s Estranged Labor Karl Marx s Estranged Labor In Karl Marx s early writing on estranged labor there is a clear and prevailing focus on the plight of the laborer. Marx s writing on estranged labor is an attempt to draw a stark distinction between property owners and workers. In the writing Marx argues that the worker becomes estranged from his labor because he is not the recipient of the product he creates. As a result labor is objectified, that is labor becomes the object of mans existence. As labor is objectified man becomes disillusioned and enslaved. Marx argues that man becomes to be viewed as a commodity worth only the labor he creates and man is further reduced to a subsisting animal void of any capacity of freedom except the will to labor. For ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He argues that this situation is analogous to a man and his religion. Marx writes, The more man puts into God the less he retains in himself....The worker puts his life into the object, but now his life no longer belongs to him but to the object. The result of the worker belonging to the object is that he is enslaved. The worker belongs to something else and his actions are dictated by that thing. For Marx, labor turns man into a means. Workers become nothing more than the capital necessary to produce a product. Labor for Marx reduces man to a means of production. As a means of production man is diminished to a subsisting enslaved creature void of his true nature. In this condition he is reduced to the most detrimental state of man: one in which he is estranged from himself. To help expand on this theme it is useful to look at Marx s allegory of man s life activity. Of the variety of reasons Marx argues man is estranged from his labor, probably the most significant is his belief that labor estranges man from himself. Marx argues that the labor the worker produces does not belong to the worker so in essence the worker does not belong to the worker. By virtue of this condition Marx argues the worker is enslaved. Enslavement for Marx is a condition alien to man and he becomes estranged from himself. For Marx, man estranged from himself is stripped of his very nature. Not only because ...
