The Purpose Of Education By Martin Luther King Jr. And...

College Composition
20 January 2015
Education in Society Within the speeches The Purpose of Education by Martin Luther King Jr. and
Wiley College vs. Oklahoma City College from the movie The Great Debaters, there are many
different points that can be identified as ethos, pathos, or logos. Logos In The Purpose of Education,
King talks about how even though a person may be educated it doesn t necessarily mean that they are
intelligent. King mentions Eugene Talmadge, whom of which King believed had a better mind than
many in Georgia, yet Talmadge thought as King as an inferior being, but he was still considered
educated from every logical stand point. Ethos We are prone to let our mental life become invaded by
legions of half truths, prejudices, and propaganda. Many decisions within a day are controlled and
guided by the things that have already been said to be good . In order to be good and accepted in
society it has to come from source when is credible and reliable but for that to happen someone has to
have their own opinion on a matter but with the education system the way it is education is bias
knowledge. Pathos For the Wiley College vs. Oklahoma City College debate, the resolve is Negroes
should be admitted to state universities. Empathy is gained from the audience as the black students
make their case in support of the resolve. While the negative argued that a black student cannot
possible succeed in a white college, affirmative states

Social Primes Affect Prosocial Behavior
Harriet Over and Malinda Carpenter set out to find answers as to when people will spontaneously help
out by conducting an experiment called, Eighteen Month Old Infants Show Increased Helping
Following Priming With affiliation. These researchers explored if infants spontaneously help a person
in need when shown pictures eliciting affiliation. By setting up an experiment, circumstances were
tested to see if social primes could influence eighteen month old infants. Even the smallest changes in
an infant s social environment has the potential of affecting prosocial behaviors. It is said that living in
groups promotes survival, and helping and sharing are just two examples of prosocial behaviors found
present in groups. In a way, prosocial behavior ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All the infants were warmed up to the experimenter and an assistant by playing. Shortly after, the
experimenter went to a different section of the room. The assistant worked with the infant first by
saying the foreground item, its color, and the use for it by following a script. At the same time, the
assistant completely ignored the priming object(s) in the background. The experimenter was unaware
of what priming picture the infant was shown. Afterwards, the infant was asked to play with the
experimenter, and shortly after, the experimenter left the room and returned with six sticks. As the
experimenter approached the ground, they accidentally dropped six sticks on the ground. Within the
first 10 seconds of dropping the sticks, the experimenter said nothing which gave the infant an
opportunity to spontaneously help pick up the dropped sticks. If the infant made no attempt to help
clean up the sticks within the first 10 seconds, the experimenter would say their name and state how
the sticks had fallen. When another 10 seconds went by, the infants name was repeated and the
experimenter stated how they needed the sticks back all while making two attempts to reach for the
sticks. Finally, the experimenter asked for help after thirty seconds went by. A general measure of
helping was scored based on whether the infants helped pick up at least one stick and offered it to the
experimenter at any time during the experiment.

Spinach Lab Report
To test the rate of photosynthesis in spinach leaves, we placed a spinach thylakoids mixed with
dichlorophenol indophenol (DPIP) in front of various lights treatments. In total, there were 5 cuvettes
which all received different lighting. One was a control which contained no thylakoids, another had no
light at all, the third cuvette was completely open to all possible light, the fourth was covered with a
green translucent paper, and the final cuvette was covered with a red translucent paper. In five minute
intervals, the transmittance was measured using a spectrophotometer which allowed the rate of
photosynthesis to be measured. Upon completion of this lab, the white light produced the highest rate
of transmittance shortly followed by the red light and then the green light. The thylakoids that
received no light preformed the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once the spectrophotometer was set to the appropriate wavelength, distilled water was added to a
cuvette that had been cleaned and any oil or fingerprints were removed. This was used to zero out the
spectrophotometer.
After doing so, five test tubes were taken and to each 1mL of phosphate buffer, 3mL of distilled water,
and lastly 1mL of 0.01% DPIP was added. The contents in each were mixed until a homogeneous
solution was present. The solutions were then transferred to 5 cuvettes that had previously been
labeled 1 5 and subsequently covered with a 1.2 X 7 cm strip of parafilm wax. This was used to
prevent any possible spills from occurring.
Once this was completed, the first cuvette was taken and the percent transmittance was measured
using the spectrophotometer. This will acted as the initial percent for each cuvette as well as the
control to compare the other cuvettes to once the experiment was

Firewood the Burns the Hottest and the Longest Essay
Firewood that Burns the Hottest and the Longest
Purpose:
Does the species of wood affect the rate at which it burns and how much heat it gives off?
Hypothesis:
If the burning time and heat temperature relies on the type of wood, then oak and maple should burn
the longest and give off more heat because they are dense hardwoods.
Research:
The terms hardwood and softwood refer to the density of wood, how hard it is, and how much weight
it has. A dense hardwood like oak or maple has high energy content per cord, so it releases more heat
and produces long lasting embers. Hardwood is the best type of firewood for long lasting warmth and
cooking but can sometimes be hard to ignite and split ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Cause and Effect Essay
Child violence is a topic which has exposed itself tremendously with both causes and effects; causes
being, poor parenting, environment and exposure, and effects including depression, difficulties in
school and criminal behavior. Most people try not to address poor parenting because it can be a very
sensitive topic but, it is very important and lack of conversation or teaching can become an issue. We
have all been somewhere and witness a child misbehaving and the parent not reprimanding their child.
We have also heard stories of how a child may be being abused or witnessing abuse by a parent,
guardian or loved one. A child being bullied or rough housing with siblings may also become an issue.
Cursing and fighting around a child can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This could lead to many lifelong problems; such as not continuing school, no job, poverty and ending
in depression. Depression and anxiety are two distinct effects of child violence. Often times when a
child has grown up witnessing or experiencing violence it affects them for a longtime; sometimes even
into adulthood. Sometimes this affects a person socially; they may fine that they are often alone and
do not feel like they fit in. Which in some causes can lead to depression. Children that grow up with
violence also often deal with anxiety; they usually feel as though they are on edge and never really
know what to expect from people or situations, which may also cause them to behave poorly. Criminal
behavior can be categorized as another effect of child violence. A great deal of criminals, offenders or
even people with some kind of criminal history are known to have been affected by violence or a
child. Some of them have come from abusive environments, poor living and social environment, and
not being taught well. As stated previously, being abused or witnessing abuses can cause a child to be
violent, because it can be a learned habit. Not being taught well goes back to the parents. Some
parents just do not discipline well. They may either be too firm or too lenient. Children that do not
suffer consequences for poor behavior may feel they will never receive punishment and when they
finally do it may be too late. Child violence has many different

How Does Conscription Affect Australia
At the outbreak of war the Australians were signing up by the hundreds to serve the mother country
without conscription, but soon they began to realize that war wasn t some romanticised adventure and
the number of troops signing up began to slow down because they were learning more about war so
they weren t so keen to sign up anymore because of that the number of troops for the wars was so little
that by 1916 they had a shortage of men. The Labour Party Prime Minister William (Billy) Hughes
decided to have a referendum for the idea of conscription even though his party was opposed to it.
Conscription had a big effect on Australia and it caused the nation to be divided over the issue because
some people believed that the young men of Australia ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The referendum was for the nation to grant power to the government to send capable citizens overseas
to serve in the war. The referendum was held on the 28th of October 1916 and was only just defeated.
Because of the different values in the Labour Party at that time William Hughes and some of the other
people split away from Labour and decided to form the Nationalist Party. After the Nationalist Party
had been formed Hughes called for another referendum on the issue of conscription in 1917, but once
again it was defeated. It was as heated as the first referendum but this one had a slightly larger
majority. The reason why Hughes wanted to have this referendum was because Australia only had
conscription for Australian men to serve within Australia, however Hughes wanted to extend this so
that the troops could be sent to the front line in Europe. He was convinced that they could win the war
if Britain had more reinforcements from Australia. Hughes s conscription campaigns became much
more fierce and he focused on advertising to the eligible men of Australian by using posters and
speeches targeted at them. Any man who was over 21 and hadn t signed up was labelled as a shirker
and a traitor to Australia. In World War 1 the white feather was introduced as something to try and get
men to fight. Young women would give them out to men who weren t in army uniform at wartime and
then that man was labelled as a coward. This was started as a means of putting pressure on those men
who were eligible to fight. Charles Fitzgerald commenced it in the first month of the war and many

Race And Gender And Race
The idea of race and gender is an idea that has been socially constructed. Society has created roles for
race and gender, they are determined by what society thinks is appropriate for the gender or race.
Some people argue that certain behavior roles are based on gender where as others may believe that it
is based on race. I will first discuss how in today s society we promote to stop racism yet it is still
happening everyday, and people are just blind to see it. Creating a role for race is racism, some people
do not understand that. I will then talk about gender, how it is socially constructed, and labeling roles
for men and women. I will also discuss how race and gender intersect in the formation of identities.
How gender and race is socially constructed, us people have the power to change it but we use our
power to look past it and pretend like it does not exist. Majority of society has been blinded to the fact
gender and racial roles do not exist, society has created it and now we think it is the norm.
Race is a concept that differentiates people based on human bodies. There is no biological basis for
racial classification. Classifying people based on the colour of their skin is being racist. Many people
are aware of this, yet every day people are being judged based on the colour of their skin. We are
being racist without even noticing it. For instance, when driving on the road and there is a bad driver
ahead, we automatically assume the driver is Asian.. Asian s

Meaning Of Sacrament
The word sacrament comes from Latin word Sacramentum the Greek word mysterion is equivalent to
Sacramentum and it is used by Paul in Ephesians when he is speaking about marriage. This is a great
foreshadowing Mysterion; I mean that it refers to Christ and the church. In later usage, the term
Sacramentum emphasizes the visible sign of the hidden reality of salvation which was indicated by the
term Mysterium. In this case, Christ himself is the mystery of salvation For there is no other mystery
of God, except Christ Jesus. The synonymous of the word Sacramentum in the Bible is Mysterion,
Orthodox Church uses the word mystery to mean sacrament.
The saving work of Jesus and sanctifying humanity is the sacrament of salvation, is revealed and

A sacrament properly speaking is that which is ordained to signify our sanctification. In which three
things may be considered, the very cause of our sanctification, which is Christ s passion. The form of
our sanctification, which are grace and the virtues, and the ultimate end of our sanctification, which is
eternal life. And all these are signified by the sacraments. Consequently, a sacrament is a sign that is
both a reminder of the past that is the passion of Christ and an indication of that which is effected in us
by Christ s passion. That is grace and a prognostic that is a foretelling of future. St Augustine has a
different way of explaining the sacraments, for him the sacraments are visible words and relationship
with Christ and the Church when He identifies them as visible words to be received in faith.

Benefits Of Electronic Medical Records
There are many reasons why some health care organizations have been reluctant to use electronic
medical records. First let s talk about, what is an electronic medical record. An (EMR) Electronic
Medical Record consist of standard medical and clinical data gathered in the provider s office which
include a more in debt patient history. EHRs are created to hold and distribute information from all
providers dealing with patient care. EHR data can be created, managed, and advised by authorized
providers and staff from across more than one health care organization. EHRs is another name for
digital paper chart that hold all of the patient s medical history from one practice. While expanding
daily, electronic medical records are becoming extremely popular. Research shows that some
healthcare organizations continue to be reluctant to purchase electronic record programs. The pressure
on hospitals, clinics, systems, physicians and other providers to get with the program is outstanding.
Cost is a major concern for single practitioners, which are least likely among physicians to adopt
EHRs. EHR systems are not cheap by any means. Physicians have to weigh the cost of not only
creating, but supporting their own IT structure and applications as well. The option to decide to use
external vendors to provide the services is given also. Consideration of cost include purchase price,
coordination cost, monitoring cost, and negotiating cost along with upgrade costs, and governance
cost.

Effects of Neuropeptide Oxytocin in the Body
The neuropeptide oxytocin can have numerous effects within the body. Some of these effects are still
not understood today. However, oxytocin has been proven to play a critical role in social behaviors
Being able recognize emotions from facial expressions can be enhanced by intranasal oxytocin. For
example, when there is a positive emotional social stimulus present in the environment, individuals
that are administered oxytocin, will preform better on memory performance. This is due to the fact
that oxytocin enhances the recognition of facial expressions and therefore memory
Oxytocin and Face Processing
In the Bate, Duchainec, Burnsd, Hodgsone (2012) article, it was hypothesized that repeated
administration of oxytocin would enhance the process of recognition in memory The processes of
acquisition and retrieval of memories is a critical function of the amygdala. During the process of
recognizing threatening stimuli, amygdala activity is enhanced. The researchers of this study thought
that oxytocin might be able to influence the process of recognition memory because oxytocin
influences emotional regulation during encoding. The goal of this experiment was to examine how
memory performance would be influenced by single oxytocin administration before encoding and
repeated administration before encoding and retrieval.

Alexander the Great In 338 BC Phillip II of Macedonia, became ruler of Greece after a lengthy battle.
Phillip s plans to war against Persia were cut short when he was assassinated in 336 BC. Speculation
suggest that Phillip s previous wife, Olympias and his son Alexander may have been involved in the
assassination plot. The murder had taken place after Olympias and Alexander were forced out of
Macedonia once Phillip had remarried Cleopatra, who was much younger. In the wake of his father s
death, 20 year old Alexander III of Macedonia seized the throne. The reign of Alexander the Great
(336 323 BC) would change Asia and Europe forever. As the crowned ruler Alexander was not in
competent, he had received some of the finest education, including tutoring by great philosopher
Aristotle. While still just a teen Alexander had become a soldier. In 338, Alexander took charge of the
Companion Calvary and assisted his father in defeating the Athenian and Theban armies. After
becoming the feudal ruler of Macedonia Alexander didn t automatically gain complete control. Once
he had support of the Macedonian army the troops helped Alexander eliminate any other possible heirs
to the throne. After that was accomplished, Alexander had to persuade the Greeks to recognize him as
ruler. He did this by sending his army south and destroying the city of Thebes. That massacre took all
of 3 days. His intimidation tactic proved beneficial, other city states quickly chose to pledge their
alliance

Batman The Unexpected Cultural Revolution Summary
Critique of Batman, The unexpected Cultural Revolution
In the essay Batman, The Unexpected Cultural Revolution Chris Gould sheds light on Batman, and
how the comics are described as dismal yet the show was made to be laughable with a main character
described as gentle. The main point of Gould s essay is that the show has become a pop art utopia (pg.
268) and how it shaped the morals of a young generation. The Batman TV show thus became a
depiction of pop art utopia, where bright colors forever defeated darkness, where creativity forever
defeated logic and Good forever triumphed over Evil. (Gould 1). The author of Batman, the
unexpected Cultural Revolution made the argument that Batman left a lasting impact on society and
he uses valid information to prove his point.
Chris Gould explains how William Dozier introduced Batman, the crime fighting superhero, to TV in
1966. The show was about a man in a suit that fought crime with his teenage sidekick. The show was
aimed at families, it wanted to send a positive message to younger viewers. Gould also notes that the
show analized a number of trends that were occurring during that time such as; the hippie movement,
corruption in politics, the power of technology, and pop art. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Gould is impassive in his essay, however, the show scorned hippies on two separate occasions. The
first time hippies were scorned when A flower power criminal named Louis the Lilac, played by
Milton Berle, was created to illustrate this point, expressing the belief that hippies could be controlled
and manipulated to serve his own nefarious ends. (Gould 270).Gould uses this to provide evidence for
his claim that writers disliked the young social movements, so it was surprising the show actually
became as popular with pop art. Gould described one episode that made fun of pop art

Chinese Philosophy From The Spring And Autumn And Warring...
Chinese philosophy originates in the Spring and Autumn and Warring States eras. This was during the
period known as Hundred Schools of Thought. Regional rulers of the Spring and Autumn period
enhanced their ability to obtain natural resources, to recruit men for their armies, and to oversee
conquered areas. (pg. 165) Researchers started to help the rulers and because of that, the rulers began
perceiving the researchers comprehension of punishment, ritual, astronomy, medicine, and divination.
There were a few distinct methods of insight that emerged in Ancient China amid this time period. Be
that as it may, there were three noteworthy methods of insight that were absolutely critical: legalism,
taoism and confucianism. Confucius was a researcher who served in government positions. He
realized that the legislature was doing as well as could be expected, on the other hand, he likewise
realized that war was among them. Consequently, Confucius was resolved to locate an illuminated
ruler. He had confidence in family and that family was the establishment of a moral society. Confucius
set up any of the real rules for Chinese thought and activity: regard for the declarations of researchers,
duty to expansive instruction, and preparing for all who were exceedingly astute and willing to work.
(pg. 164) Due to Confucius being solid willed, he put forward new ethics focusing on ceremonies,
obligation and dedication to family and the ideal of good character. Confucianism was

Brief History of the Nra
Brief History of the NRA
The National Rifle Association in its simplest form is the largest gun club in the world. The
organization was founded in 1871 by former Union Army officers to encourage sport shooting in order
to have a fine tuned militia in case of emergency. The Union officers believed that a well regulated
militia was integral for the security of a free state. It is an organization that opposes gun control, it
believes in the individual defense of the uses of firearms, and it is interested in all aspects of shooting
sports.1 Today, the organization stands with approximately 3.4 million members.
Within the NRA, there are four major organs. The Institute for Legislative
Action (is the lobbying arm), the political Victory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eighteen states and the District of Columbia were exempt from the 5 day wait since they already had
gun delaying measures in place.
These states and D.C. account for 63% of all violent crimes; including 58% of all murders.9 California
which is exempt because it has a 15 day waiting period, has more murders and violent crimes than any
other state. New York which is also exempt due to a licensing law has the second greatest number of
murders and other violent crimes.10 Since the bill was enacted, only 22 states are subject to the 5 day
wait. The Brady bill serves to be irrelevant in most violent crimes anyway. Seven out of ten violent
crimes are not committed with firearms.
90% of rapes, 59% of robberies, and 76% of assaults are committed with knives, clubs, feet, or a
person s fists. According to the FBI, approximately 10,000 murders are committed each year without
firearms.11
Gun Control is Not the Answer
With the evidence that has just been documented, gun control is not the answer to stopping crime, it
only serves to delay one s constitutional right to possess a handgun. The Brady Act infringes one s
right to own a firearm according to the Second Amendment of the Constitution. It says that a well
regulated militia, being

The Demand And Supply Analysis
Introduction: The most important tool in microeconomics is the demand and supply analysis. Demand
refers to the amount of the product which is desired by the purchaser at a certain price level where as
the supply of the product represents the amount of quantity that is supplied in the market at a certain
level of price. There are different factors on which demand is dependent. Apart from the price of the
product, the demand depends upon the income, the number of consumers, preferences of the
consumers and income of the consumers. The supply of the product depends upon the price of the
product, future expectation of the prices and price of the factors of production (Colander 2013).
Resources availability is limited in the country so there is a need to observe the demand and supply so
that the resources are not exhausted. The demand and supply mechanism is analyzed before getting
into a detailed discussion upon the demand and supply of human resources and iron ore resources in
the Australian economy. Several newspaper articles has been collected showing the demand for the
skills in the state of Queensland and the supply iron ore has dropped in respect of the increase in
global supply more than the demand. Mechanism of Demand and Supply: When the other factors,
which are seen to affect the demand for the product is constant then a rise in the price of the product,
will lead to fall and when there is fall in the prices then there will be an increase in the demand. There

Reflection In Computer Science And Engineering
Stuck in between majors at the beginning of the quarter, and desperately needing another credit to
compete my schedule, I stumbled upon this seminar and added it to my already stem filled schedule.
Hoping to gain value on what a potential major could be for me, I went to the first week of class and
was immediately impacted by the presenters for the College of the Environment. I wish to reflect back
on this presentation as well as Professor Richard Ladner s presentation in Computer Science
engineering and Professor Wendy Thomas s presentation in bioengineering. The first week of class
immediately brought with it an important presentation to me on the topic of Diversity in stem. As an
existing pre engineering student at the time of the presentation I had a very narrow misconception as
to what the field of engineering entails and the majors that are available within in. During the
presentation, I learned that the College of the Environment actually contained its own form of
engineering, environmental engineering, that is recognized as the only engineering major outside the
School of Engineering here at the University of Washington. This was crucial to me because it
immediately broadened my horizon, I have always had an interest in the environment and this allowed
me to research a new potential major that could intertwine my interest in science with my background
in the outdoors. The second presentation that affected me was the presentation by Wendy Thomas, and

Hamlet Movie Adaptation
Hamlet was written in 1609 by William Shakespeare; Shakespeare is one of the greatest poets and
playwrights. Since the original performance of Hamlet, there have been many movie adaptations.
Some of the many well known film directors for these movies are Kenneth Branagh, Franco Zeffirelli
and Sir Laurence Olivier. From the above film directors, I will compare and contrast Zeffirelli s
production of Hamlet to the original Shakespeare s play Hamlet.
Zeffirelli s version of Hamlet is one of the sound versions of Hamlet. It was produced and starred Mel
Gibson in the late 1900s. Comparing the film version of Hamlet to the play, Zeffirelli has made
noticeable changes in the movie including some clothing choices and characters reactions. He also
altered and cut lines from the original Shakespeare play.
Shakespeare centralized the theme of revenge in the ghost scene in Act 1 Scene 5 with the use of
literary devices. In the movie adaptation, Zeffirelli used a different approach to portray the theme,
without the use of any literary devices. He instead used costume choices, characters reactions and
different word choices.
Zeffirelli used a creative way to portray Hamlet s father wearing a white shirt with black pants instead
of Shakespeare s choice of armour. He used this to show how Hamlet s father would look in 90 s
society. He made Hamlet wear black clothing throughout the movie to show that Hamlet was the only
one who cared and grieved throughout his mother s marriage and until his own death.
Zeffirelli changed the characters reactions throughout the scenes. One of the character changes is
during Hamlet s father s ghost soliloquy. Instead of his father being projected as angry towards his
wife and his brother in the movie, he uses a calm tone. In the movie while Hamlet was listening to his
father, he should have looked angry and upset. Instead he had no emotions while listening to his
father. In the movie, he should have an angry tone and should be eager to plot revenge on who killed
his father, instead he did not talk throughout his father s death story. Zeffirelli chose this so that the
audience will wait and anticipate when Hamlet s anger will grow and his reaction during the scene.

Margo Roth Spiegelman s Paper Towns
Paper Towns starts in Orlando Florida, where Quentin Jacobsen has carried on with all his life,
adoring Margo Roth Spiegelman since when they initially met. The book, on the other hand, begins
with the foundation of Margo and Quentin s relationship. Back when Quentin and Margo were in
primary school, they were friends ... Until one day, when amidst their journeys, they discovered a
deceased man sitting under a tree. Margo was truly fascinated of the man, needing to explore his
demise, yet Quentin needed to leave and call for help quickly. After they cleared out and the police
had assumed control, Margo had really investigated it herself while Quentin was at home. One night
after, Margo went to Quentin s window and lets him know what she had ... Show more content on

The book closes with Margo and Quentin saying farewell and promising to stay in contact.
Despite the fact that John Green s tone changes all through the book, his tone is ordinarily idealistic
and has a determination about it to stop the dull potential outcomes of Margo s future. Quentin can
discover inspiration regardless of the possibility that now and again it would appear that Margo has
conferred suicide. Regardless, the circumstances, there is a happy comical inclination that John Green
composes all through the novel. The dialogue and relationship in the middle of Quentin and his friends
keeps the book light. Something as random as Radar s guardians gathering black Santa s helps keep a
carefree tone all through the book despite the fact that it manages more profound and darker

Isolation In Metamorphosis
On (page 101) Kafka s point of how society treat workers are that Gregor and the workers around the

treating them bad and never can understand what s going on such as Gregor really isn t getting the
respect he needs from his parents, boss, chief clerk, and employer and that is the exact same thing the
workers around this world are doing to them. Metamorphosis is showing that it isn t just Gregor that s
getting treating by abuse of power or making them isolated. Kafka is making a point that these types
of things can happen to anyone in this world even in a book, a novel, or a cartoons. This shows that

part of industrialization because they would keep their working space unsanitized and have the
workers complaining about their work and that can relate to Gregor

is my favorite hobby because it s part of my life and I cannot live without it and sometimes I get my
motivation through watching a soccer game when my team is losing but they comeback during the
game to score more goals and win before at the last minute, then I feel like I can do it too and it s

For instance, me and my friends will go on vacation and first thing we had to make sure to bring was
the soccer ball. Soccer is unlike other sports that requires so many equipment because all you really
need is just cleat and a soccer ball. The world cup is one thing that all soccer fans wait for it every four
years, me and my friends always get together to watch it and we will be going to the stadium
sometimes if we can afford it. The reason Soccer is the most popular game in the world because it is
played by 250 million players in over 200 countries. One of the things I learned from soccer, the game
is not over till the whistle blows, meaning you must work hard and do not give up until the last
moment. My favorite player is Ronaldo, and one of his famous words is work hard in the dark and one
day you may shine under the lights. Soccer is not just a game, it is a passion, if you do not breath or
dream soccer, then you are just wearing a jersey. Therefore, soccer is without any doubt in my mind
the best sport because it is fun, you work out and you shar exciting moments with friends. So, what

The Seven Deadly Sins After The Reformation
The Reformation of the Christian faith caused a major change within the Church and was a major 16th
century European movement aimed initially at reforming the beliefs and practices of the Roman
Catholic Church. The Reformation ended the unity imposed by medieval Christianity and, in the eyes
of many historians, signaled the beginning of the modern era. The Protestantism Reformation was also
the schism within Western Christianity initiated by Martin Luther, John Calvin, and other early
Protestant Reformers. The Reformation caused a change in the attaining of salvation; salvation was no
longer achieved through the community, but through individualism. In this essay, I argue that after the
Reformation, salvation was achieved through individualism ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The Penitential Cycle was a series of actions that led to salvation and forgiveness of one s sins by
God. This cycle included both the achieving of salvation and strengthening the relationship of the
community as a whole. There were five steps: Contrition, Confession Communion, Absolution,
Penance, and then Grace is achieved. When a Christian committed a sin, the first step to have his sins
forgiven is contrition, which was truly feeling remorse for committing the sin. The second stage was
Confession, in which the sinner would confess to the community of his sins. This would strengthen
the relationship between the sinner and the community. The fourth stage was Absolution. In this stage,
the sinner would go to the pope to receive absolution from God and God would forgive his sin. After
the absolution had taken place, and the sinner was forgiven of his sin, but was required to continue to
show his remorse by completing the next stage, Penance. Penance was community service that the
sinner would complete to show his contrition and once again strengthen his bond with the community.
After the Penitential Cycle, he/she would stay in a period of grace, where the former sinner was
completely cleansed of any sin. Through these stages, a member of the community would strengthen
his relationship and bond with

Who Was Responsible For The Sinking Of Titanic
Who was was responsible for the sinking of titanic? This topic is important because it was the biggest
sea disaster and it was one of the biggest events in history. The audience should care because they
should learn the details on this historical event. Captain Smith is responsible for the sinking of Titanic
because he is responsible for the whole ship. This paragraph is my counterclaim. I understand why
people believe that Thomas Andrews was responsible for the sinking of titanic because he didn t
design the boat with enough lifeboats. Also people might believe that Thomas Andrews was
responsible for the sinking of titanic because he sent out the titanic knowing it was a flaw but, I
believe it was Captain Smith because he ignored

The Causes And Effects Of Indirect Rule In Nigeria
Indirect rule is a system that was put into place by imperialist who did not have the manpower to rule
a country by force. It is an ingenious system that allowed countries to come into Africa and impose
their rules and influences over the natives without fully taking over. According to W. R. Cocker, Sir
Fredrick Lugard was given the position of High Commissioner in Northern Nigeria. His objective was
to bring Nigeria under British rule. This was no easy task because the native population outnumbered
the amount of men they could bring to enforce British rule and government. So what Sir Lugard did,
as did many other imperialist, left most of the power in the hands of the natives. In Lugard s case, the
land was under the control of the Fulani Emirate, which he found their administrative set up to be
respectable. Not left with much of a choice, he left the Emirates in charge and set in place British rule
which governed alongside side the natives. Thus indirect rule was brought to Africa. There were lots
of criticism that came with indirect rule. They mainly came after Lugard s book, Dual Mandate, came
out. Many of the men that were enlisted at the time became arrogant after this book came out. They
thought they were makers of history. This being said they lost a lot of their old values. Religious
groups cut them off from making anymore scriptures. To which they referred to them as the
interpretation of which was their own monopoly. Another criticism that came from

Bailey Nielsen Galloway College Composition 20 January 2015 Education in Society Within the speeches The Purpose of Education by Martin Luther King Jr. and Wiley College vs. Oklahoma City College from the movie The Great Debaters, there are many different points that can be identified as ethos, pathos, or logos. Logos In The Purpose of Education, King talks about how even though a person may be educated it doesn t necessarily mean that they are intelligent. King mentions Eugene Talmadge, whom of which King believed had a better mind than many in Georgia, yet Talmadge thought as King as an inferior being, but he was still considered educated from every logical stand point. Ethos We are prone to let our mental life become invaded by legions of half truths, prejudices, and propaganda. Many decisions within a day are controlled and guided by the things that have already been said to be good . In order to be good and accepted in society it has to come from source when is credible and reliable but for that to happen someone has to have their own opinion on a matter but with the education system the way it is education is bias knowledge. Pathos For the Wiley College vs. Oklahoma City College debate, the resolve is Negroes should be admitted to state universities. Empathy is gained from the audience as the black students make their case in support of the resolve. While the negative argued that a black student cannot possible succeed in a white college, affirmative states ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Social Primes Affect Prosocial Behavior Harriet Over and Malinda Carpenter set out to find answers as to when people will spontaneously help out by conducting an experiment called, Eighteen Month Old Infants Show Increased Helping Following Priming With affiliation. These researchers explored if infants spontaneously help a person in need when shown pictures eliciting affiliation. By setting up an experiment, circumstances were tested to see if social primes could influence eighteen month old infants. Even the smallest changes in an infant s social environment has the potential of affecting prosocial behaviors. It is said that living in groups promotes survival, and helping and sharing are just two examples of prosocial behaviors found present in groups. In a way, prosocial behavior ... The assistant worked with the infant first by saying the foreground item, its color, and the use for it by following a script. At the same time, the assistant completely ignored the priming object(s) in the background. The experimenter was unaware of what priming picture the infant was shown. Afterwards, the infant was asked to play with the experimenter, and shortly after, the experimenter left the room and returned with six sticks. As the experimenter approached the ground, they accidentally dropped six sticks on the ground. Within the first 10 seconds of dropping the sticks, the experimenter said nothing which gave the infant an opportunity to spontaneously help pick up the dropped sticks. If the infant made no attempt to help clean up the sticks within the first 10 seconds, the experimenter would say their name and state how the sticks had fallen. When another 10 seconds went by, the infants name was repeated and the experimenter stated how they needed the sticks back all while making two attempts to reach for the sticks. Finally, the experimenter asked for help after thirty seconds went by. A general measure of helping was scored based on whether the infants helped pick up at least one stick and offered it to the experimenter at any time during the experiment. ... A great deal of criminals, offenders or even people with some kind of criminal history are known to have been affected by violence or a child. Some of them have come from abusive environments, poor living and social environment, and not being taught well. As stated previously, being abused or witnessing abuses can cause a child to be violent, because it can be a learned habit. Not being taught well goes back to the parents. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The referendum was for the nation to grant power to the government to send capable citizens overseas to serve in the war. The referendum was held on the 28th of October 1916 and was only just defeated. Because of the different values in the Labour Party at that time William Hughes and some of the other people split away from Labour and decided to form the Nationalist Party. After the Nationalist Party had been formed Hughes called for another referendum on the issue of conscription in 1917, but once again it was defeated. It was as heated as the first referendum but this one had a slightly larger majority. The reason why Hughes wanted to have this referendum was because Australia only had conscription for Australian men to serve within Australia, however Hughes wanted to extend this so that the troops could be sent to the front line in Europe. He was convinced that they could win the war if Britain had more reinforcements from Australia. Hughes s conscription campaigns became much more fierce and he focused on advertising to the eligible men of Australian by using posters and speeches targeted at them. Any man who was over 21 and hadn t signed up was labelled as a shirker and a traitor to Australia. In World War 1 the white feather was introduced as something to try and get men to fight. Young women would give them out to men who weren t in army uniform at wartime and then that man was labelled as a coward. This was started as a means of putting pressure on those men who were eligible to fight. Charles Fitzgerald commenced it in the first month of the war and many people encouraged ... Society has created roles for race and gender, they are determined by what society thinks is appropriate for the gender or race. I will first discuss how in today s society we promote to stop racism yet it is still happening everyday, and people are just blind to see it. Creating a role for race is racism, some people do not understand that. I will then talk about gender, how it is socially constructed, and labeling roles for men and women. I will also discuss how race and gender intersect in the formation of identities. How gender and race is socially constructed, us people have the power to change it but we use our power to look past it and pretend like it does not exist. Majority of society has been blinded to the fact gender and racial roles do not exist, society has created it and now we think it is the norm. Race is a concept that differentiates people based on human bodies. There is no biological basis for racial classification. Classifying people based on the colour of their skin is being racist. Many people are aware of this, yet every day people are being judged based on the colour of their skin. We are being racist without even noticing it. • 18. Meaning Of Sacrament The word sacrament comes from Latin word Sacramentum the Greek word mysterion is equivalent to Sacramentum and it is used by Paul in Ephesians when he is speaking about marriage. This is a great foreshadowing Mysterion; I mean that it refers to Christ and the church. In later usage, the term Sacramentum emphasizes the visible sign of the hidden reality of salvation which was indicated by the term Mysterium. In this case, Christ himself is the mystery of salvation For there is no other mystery of God, except Christ Jesus. The synonymous of the word Sacramentum in the Bible is Mysterion, Orthodox Church uses the word mystery to mean sacrament. • 19. Benefits Of Electronic Medical Records There are many reasons why some health care organizations have been reluctant to use electronic medical records. First let s talk about, what is an electronic medical record. An (EMR) Electronic Medical Record consist of standard medical and clinical data gathered in the provider s office which include a more in debt patient history. EHRs are created to hold and distribute information from all providers dealing with patient care. EHR data can be created, managed, and advised by authorized providers and staff from across more than one health care organization. EHRs is another name for digital paper chart that hold all of the patient s medical history from one practice. While expanding daily, electronic medical records are becoming extremely popular. Research shows that some healthcare organizations continue to be reluctant to purchase electronic record programs. The pressure on hospitals, clinics, systems, physicians and other providers to get with the program is outstanding. Cost is a major concern for single practitioners, which are least likely among physicians to adopt EHRs. EHR systems are not cheap by any means. Physicians have to weigh the cost of not only creating, but supporting their own IT structure and applications as well. The option to decide to use external vendors to provide the services is given also. Batman The Unexpected Cultural Revolution Summary Critique of Batman, The unexpected Cultural Revolution In the essay Batman, The Unexpected Cultural Revolution Chris Gould sheds light on Batman, and how the comics are described as dismal yet the show was made to be laughable with a main character described as gentle. The main point of Gould s essay is that the show has become a pop art utopia (pg. 268) and how it shaped the morals of a young generation. The Batman TV show thus became a depiction of pop art utopia, where bright colors forever defeated darkness, where creativity forever defeated logic and Good forever triumphed over Evil. (Gould 1). The author of Batman, the unexpected Cultural Revolution made the argument that Batman left a lasting impact on society and he uses valid information to prove his point. Chris Gould explains how William Dozier introduced Batman, the crime fighting superhero, to TV in 1966. The show was about a man in a suit that fought crime with his teenage sidekick. The show was aimed at families, it wanted to send a positive message to younger viewers. He realized that the legislature was doing as well as could be expected, on the other hand, he likewise realized that war was among them. Consequently, Confucius was resolved to locate an illuminated ruler. He had confidence in family and that family was the establishment of a moral society. Confucius set up any of the real rules for Chinese thought and activity: regard for the declarations of researchers, duty to expansive instruction, and preparing for all who were exceedingly astute and willing to work. • 25. The Demand And Supply Analysis Introduction: The most important tool in microeconomics is the demand and supply analysis. Demand refers to the amount of the product which is desired by the purchaser at a certain price level where as the supply of the product represents the amount of quantity that is supplied in the market at a certain level of price. There are different factors on which demand is dependent. Apart from the price of the product, the demand depends upon the income, the number of consumers, preferences of the consumers and income of the consumers. The supply of the product depends upon the price of the product, future expectation of the prices and price of the factors of production (Colander 2013). Resources availability is limited in the country so there is a need to observe the demand and supply so that the resources are not exhausted. The demand and supply mechanism is analyzed before getting into a detailed discussion upon the demand and supply of human resources and iron ore resources in the Australian economy. Several newspaper articles has been collected showing the demand for the skills in the state of Queensland and the supply iron ore has dropped in respect of the increase in global supply more than the demand. • 27. Hamlet Movie Adaptation Hamlet was written in 1609 by William Shakespeare; Shakespeare is one of the greatest poets and playwrights. Since the original performance of Hamlet, there have been many movie adaptations. Some of the many well known film directors for these movies are Kenneth Branagh, Franco Zeffirelli and Sir Laurence Olivier. From the above film directors, I will compare and contrast Zeffirelli s production of Hamlet to the original Shakespeare s play Hamlet. Zeffirelli s version of Hamlet is one of the sound versions of Hamlet. It was produced and starred Mel Gibson in the late 1900s. Comparing the film version of Hamlet to the play, Zeffirelli has made noticeable changes in the movie including some clothing choices and characters reactions. He also altered and cut lines from the original Shakespeare play. Shakespeare centralized the theme of revenge in the ghost scene in Act 1 Scene 5 with the use of literary devices. In the movie adaptation, Zeffirelli used a different approach to portray the theme, without the use of any literary devices. He instead used costume choices, characters reactions and different word choices. Zeffirelli used a creative way to portray Hamlet s father wearing a white shirt with black pants instead of Shakespeare s choice of armour. He used this to show how Hamlet s father would look in 90 s society. He made Hamlet wear black clothing throughout the movie to show that Hamlet was the only one who cared and grieved throughout his mother s marriage and until his own death. Zeffirelli changed the characters reactions throughout the scenes. One of the character changes is during Hamlet s father s ghost soliloquy. Instead of his father being projected as angry towards his wife and his brother in the movie, he uses a calm tone. In the movie while Hamlet was listening to his father, he should have looked angry and upset. Instead he had no emotions while listening to his father. In the movie, he should have an angry tone and should be eager to plot revenge on who killed his father, instead he did not talk throughout his father s death story. Zeffirelli chose this so that the audience will wait and anticipate when Hamlet s anger will grow and his reaction during the scene. With the removal and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When a Christian committed a sin, the first step to have his sins forgiven is contrition, which was truly feeling remorse for committing the sin. The second stage was Confession, in which the sinner would confess to the community of his sins. This would strengthen the relationship between the sinner and the community. It is an ingenious system that allowed countries to come into Africa and impose their rules and influences over the natives without fully taking over. According to W. R. Cocker, Sir Fredrick Lugard was given the position of High Commissioner in Northern Nigeria. His objective was to bring Nigeria under British rule. This was no easy task because the native population outnumbered the amount of men they could bring to enforce British rule and government. So what Sir Lugard did, as did many other imperialist, left most of the power in the hands of the natives. In Lugard s case, the land was under the control of the Fulani Emirate, which he found their administrative set up to be respectable. Not left with much of a choice, he left the Emirates in charge and set in place British rule which governed alongside side the natives. Thus indirect rule was brought to Africa. There were lots of criticism that came with indirect rule. They mainly came after Lugard s book, Dual Mandate, came out. Many of the men that were enlisted at the time became arrogant after this book came out. They thought they were makers of history. This being said they lost a lot of their old values.
