False Loyalty And False Loyalty
Those who buy the goods or services provided by companies or entities or customers. Another way, a
customer is a stakeholder of an organization who provides payment in the exchange for the offer
provided to him by the organization with the aim of fulfilling a need and to maximize satisfaction. The
term customer and consumer is confusing sometimes. A customer can be consumer, but a consumer
may not necessarily be a customer. Another scholar describes the difference. E.g. a customer is the
person who does buying of the products and the consumer is the person who ultimately consumes the
product (Hameed, 2015, p. 100). customer satisfaction is the sensation or attitude of a customer

Tim Jordan Research Paper
Welcome back to our list of the top 10 richest NBA players. In part two, we ll get even deeper into the
pool of incredible NBA talent and we ll get into some deeper pockets, as well. Read below for more
rich NBA bank accounts.
Number Five: Dirk Nowitzki
With $204 million, Dirk is the most well off European player on this list. He is also arguably the
greatest European player of all time. He has the distinction of being the best player on an NBA
championship team, and even if it only happened once, Dirk will retire having pretty much
accomplished everything he could have hoped for when he came to the United States from Germany.
Number Four: Tim Duncan

And he has helped to revolutionize the power forward position even as new power forwards continue
to do so today. The competitive old vet will probably always be around basketball, even though he
could easily retire with his $315 million.
Number Two: Kobe Bryant
The player nicknamed the Black Mamba is one of the most divisive, controversial figures in NBA
history. He was biggest scoring phenomenon for many years, replacing Michael Jordan as the shooting
guard of his generation even though his reputation as a person was as far from Michael as it could get.
He made a lot of friends, maybe more enemies, and $279 million along the way. It s his last year in the
league now, as he s announced his retirement. But he ll be just fine.
Number One: LeBron James
LeBron will go down as one of the best basketball players to have ever lived. Period. Like Kobe,
LeBron has his made his share of haters and doubters. But anyone who thinks he hasn t been the best
player in the game every year he s played at least until very recently is lying to themselves. He s made
$130 playing the game so far, but it looks like he s get more than a few years left in him. Thanks for

Crime And Social Control Theory Essay
Social control theory refers the ideas that society is responsible for maintaining law abiding citizens
and/or producing deviant behavior (Hagan, 2016). The textbook generalizes that social control
theories view crime as taking place when social control or bonds to society break down (Hagan, 2016,
p. 170). This is concluded by the theories of four theorists Walter Reckless, Travis Hirschi, Michael
Gottfredson, and John Hagan who investigated and theorized different philosophies that explain the
relationship between crime and social control (Hagan, 2016). Reckless s theory of containment is one
of the most prominent and earliest models of social control theory (Hagan, 2016). Reckless theorized
that individuals have various social controls (containments) that assist them in resisting pressures that
draw them toward criminality (Hagan, 2016, p. 170). This theory holds that social factors and external
or internal pressures influence individuals to either abide by the law or produce criminality (Hagan,
2016). A second theory is Hirschi s social bond theory that states delinquency takes place when a
person s bonds to society are weakened or broken, thus reducing personal stakes in conformity
(Hagan, 2016, p. 170). Hirschi posited that the bonds consist of four components: Commitment,
belief, involvement, and attachment (Hagan, 2016). Commitment refers to an individual s
responsibilities, such as a job or providing for a family (Hagan, 2016). It states if an individual

Advantages and Disadvantages of the Unitary, Confederation...
Advantages and Disadvantages of the Unitary, Confederation and the Federal system of the
Government
We can look at governmental systems as a continuum from a unitary type to a confederacy with
federalism sitting in the middle. The unitary government is often described as a centralized
government. It is a government in which all powers held by the government belong to a single, central
agency. The central government creates local units of government for its own convenience. Most of
the government in the world are unitary, Great Britain being one of them. One single central organ is
Parliament it holds all the power of the British government. Local governments do exist but solely to
relieve Parliament of burdens it could perform ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The disadvantages are weakness of central government it makes it unable to enforce laws or collect
taxes, also lack of unity and common laws.
Lastly we move to federal government this is one in which the powers of government is divided
between a central government and several local governments. There is a authority superior to both the
central and local governments which makes this division of powers on a geographic basis; That
division cannot be changed by either the local or national level acting alone. Both levels of
government act directly on the people through their own sets of laws, the officials, and agencies. In the
United States, for example the National Government has certain powers and the 50 states have others.
This division of powers is set out in the Constitution of the United States. However federal
government also has the advantages and disadvantages. The advantages of the Federal unity is that
local government handles local problems also the local government and officials have to be very
responsive of the people who elect them. The central government can devote more time and energy to
national and international problems. They also have more opportunities for participation in making
decisions that influence what is taught in the schools, also deciding where highways and government
projects are to be built. The disadvantages are the

Film Analysis Of The Film MoBetter Blues
Mo Better Blues is a 1990 music drama film. Mo Better Blues follows a jazz musician named Bleek
Gilliam (Denzel Washington) who is obsessed with his art, but because he begins a path that separates
him from the person closest to him. Another band member encountered a problem in another quintet
named Shadow Henderson (Wesley Snipes), which led to everyone in the band. Their manager Giant

clearly through simple movies. ...
Mo Better Blues signature style is attractive. In the daytime scene, the film took all the deep tan,
emphasizing the nature of the city. When the night falls, the film shoots all the effective contrasting
shadows and charming lighting to capture the real jazz mood. The film s soul is captured through its
atmosphere, the film is the key to this. The real technique in film photography is also good because
the way the camera uses the focus is very atmospheric, slowly using slow motion, scaling and clutch
angles as well. These have reached a high point in the musical of the film because the visual style
coincides with the nature of the music s hypnotic jazz, and the mood is just with the audience to attract
them, which is a very versatile and artistic experience that makes Mo Better Blues became one of the
best films ever made by Stricker Lee.

The Purpose of the African Union Mission in Somalia...
The African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) on the surface is an effective fighting force in
Somalia; however, the success of AMISOM is contingent upon Ugandan participation. The existence
of AMISOM is due to a long Somali history of political / economic instability and the current struggle
against the Somalia based terrorist organization, Al Shabaab. The overall objective within Somalia is
to eliminate or at a minimum contain the Al Shabaab threat. The creation of AMISOM assists the
Somalian Transitional Federal Government (TFG) and its allies to effectively target Al Shabaab while
using the United Nations (UN), European Union (EU), and African Union (AU) backed AMISOM as
an umbrella organization.
From the UN standpoint, Somalia has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Next, the EU, like the UN, is assisting with the famine issue plaguing Somalia, as well as paying the
total of AMISOM troop salaries. Currently, members of the EU are considering the amount to which
that financial backing can be increased, given that the Union is already financially burdened with
several projects in the region, and the funds initially reserved for AMISOM will not be enough to
cover the costs sustained by the increasing troop ceiling. The new EU Resolution 2036 (2012) states,
It is therefore vital, as stated in the resolution, that new contributors pledge to join the European Union
in providing financial support. The EU is active with the UN on international initiatives set out by the
UN Security Council Resolutions on eliminating piracy off the coast of Somalia. Piracy acts have
been occurring simultaneously with the instability in Somalia, further strengthening the motives for a
stable Somalia.
The AU operates AMISOM with the approval of the UN and is headquartered in Ethiopia. They face
many tasks which include health issues (AIDS/HIV epidemic), famine, intermediating in civil wars;
and improving the standard of living. According to their website, one of the objectives of the AU is to
promote peace, security, and stability on the continent. This objective directly aligns with eliminating
the threat posed by Al Shabaab.
Due to these instabilities within Somalia, it was essential for the UN, EU, and AU to combine their
efforts and form an

Human-Less Warriors Essay
As bloody wars drag on in Iraq and Afghanistan the United States military increasingly turns to human
less warriors to stem the loss of lives. The MQ 1 Predator and MQ 9 Reaper aerial drones are seeing
an increase in use, while remote controlled robots are being used to dispose of improvised explosive
devises. At what point do these computer systems move from machines capable of unethical actions,
to machines whose very existence is unethical? I argue that fully automated systems should not be
used in an offensive manner; rather they can only see ethical uses in limited defensive roles. In
exploring this question I will draw on the only fully autonomous US armed forces weapon system I
am aware of, the Phalanx CIWS, a missile defense system ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Phalanx checks that the missile is coming toward the ship, it does this to avoid shooting down friendly
missiles. It checks to see if the missile is able to hit the ship, based on its speed and heading. It also
checks to see if the missile fits within a velocity bracket in which missiles tend to fall. These are not
an exhaustive list of fail safes to ensure Phalanx only engages enemy projectiles, however it gives an
idea of the design thinking behind the system.
I believe that Phalanx CIWS falls into the third category presented in Who s in Charge of the Chip?,
that category being machines capable of harmful consequences. I believe it falls into this one by the
process of elimination, it isn t designed with a malicious intent, quite the opposite, its intent is to
protect. Secondly, it seems to have been designed with safety in mind as there are a battery of
conditions that must be fulfilled in order for the gun to fire. This leaves only the third category as a
possibility. As I am about to show the Phalanx has been shown capable of causing bad consequences. I
found two instances where a Phalanx system has acted in a way we would deem undesirable. First, in
February 1991, during the First Gulf War, a Phalanx system aboard the frigate USS Jarrett fired upon
the battleship USS Missouri. The ships were around three miles apart when they fell under attack from
an Iraqi missile.

Sociological Imagination In The Promise By C. Wright Mills
The term sociological imagination is the ability to recognize that as individuals we are also apart of
the large society. it also helps us to see situations socially and ways they inter and influence each
other. In the The Promise , C. Wright Mills defines sociological imagination as a individual s ability to
recognize the influence of their society of key historical happening on their own life struggle . He
conveys that an individual cannot strive if she/she doesn t recognize the history occurring in the world
them. Specifically, Mills suggests that, the sociological imagination enables its possessor to
understand the larger historical sense in terms of its meaning for the inner life and the external career
of a variety of individuals (Mills,1959,p. 2). Ultimately what this indicates is that in order for a
individual to see the impact he/she has on the world and the impact the world has of them, they must

Implementing A New Communication Record For Tracking...
Assessment of Problem: Clearly describe the problem in your work unit and your plan to solve the
problem.
The problem within the work unit is that we tend to be complacent and sees things as they are and not
as they could be. The Agency s mission is To responsibly provide access to quality health coverage for
vulnerable Mississippians. In order to accurately carry out this mission, the Office of Appeals needs to
aggressively keep up with advances in technology (i.e. computer application and software), and
eagerly embrace new found ways of ensuring that our clients receive information and assistance as
quick and efficiently as possible. My plan to solve this problem is to create, and then recommend
implementing a new communication record for tracking beneficiaries and clients request for a state
eligibility hearing. Each record will be assigned an appeal number that would allow us to track the
case from receipt through resolution.
To date, the Office of Appeals is utilizing an Excel spreadsheet to record and track incoming requests
(See Attachment I). The spreadsheet displays data in text and numbers, which allows sorting and
calculations. The problem with the spreadsheet is it does not effectively provide electronic tracking of
incoming eligibility appeal requests from the Agency s thirty (30) regional offices. Also, the problem
is that the spreadsheet does not allow space for more specific data to be entered that is considered
pertinent to the case (See Attachment

perhaps a century late, has finally come to a difficult crossroads about the creation of the world:
Should the Vatican alter (no pun intended) modify Church Dogmas, which are infallible snippets of
doctrinal teaching, or ignore rapid scientific finds that have eroded the Church s belief that God

Unfortunately, there is no proof for the alleged Creator. It is important, however, to acknowledge that
Science has not disproved God either. Science has further discounted the Church s teaching that Adam
and Eve existed with artifacts of animals, many of which have human characteristics, existing
thousands of years before the appearance of the human form society knows today. Science has
discovered that humans share approximately ninety seven percent of the same DNA with
chimpanzees, and that humans have one less chromosome than monkeys. Charles Darwin, a
nineteenth century English naturalist, developed a controversial peace that challenged the established
theories of how humans developed, which until his time, remained based heavily on the Christian
Churches. His Theory of Evolution, and the Roman Catholic Church s response (or lack thereof) to the
theory has brought increased criticism from liberal theologians and scientists alike about whether or
not the Church is serious about evolution and science in general. This comes as an admittedly liberal

Social London s West End theatres have a very, almost posh stigma surrounding them. However, this
sort of image is being removed from the area as theatres are seen as less exclusive and are attracting a
different, more diverse type of clientele. However, the prices can still feel slightly high; as standard
tickets can range from £30 to £60 with the more prestigious tickets going for prices of £90 and even
more. Prices like these, even the lower ones, may discourage people with lower disposable incomes
from visiting the area and to find a cheaper alternative, such as local, smaller theatres meaning that
there would be fewer tourists around in the area. Other factors than ESD should look at are how the
culture differs in the UK compared to their home market of the US. In general, portions are smaller
which means that their new potential customers will eat less during their meals. This could lead to
more waste being generated from leftover food, this means that the Diner would be overspending on
ingredients. If they take this into account properly, then they can make sure they order the right
amounts of food in an attempt to reduce waste. Also, due to smaller portions, the dietary requirements
of British people are generally healthier and they may not be enticed by classic American foods. The

Six Sigma and Project Management
Six Sigma and Project Management
Project Management in Business and Technology, Section 02
Introduction
Sigma is a symbol for a unit of measure which measures how much a process deviates from
perfection. With the increase in demand for quality products/services, several organizations look for
ways to improve their performance to meet customer s expectations. Six Sigma is considered to be an
approach which blends the components of quality management and business process re engineering.
Six Sigma s aim is to increase the efficiency and remove waste, thereby increasing the customer
satisfaction. There are many myths about Six Sigma:
a) It s only concerned with reducing defects
b) It is a process for production
c) It can t be applied to engineering activities
d) It is just a training process
e) It is a new concept
History of Six Sigma
Since 1920 s the term sigma is used by mathematician s measurement unit in product quality
measurement. In mid 1980 s, engineers at Motorola Inc. coined the term Six Sigma which they used it
informally as an in house initiative to increase the quality for reducing the defects in the production
process. Initially the engineers measured the defects in terms of thousands which gradually increased
to defects per million . This prompted the use of Six Sigma technology and idea of branding Six
Sigma. A company is Six Sigma certified if it could limit its flaws up to 3.4 defects per million.
In 1991, Motorola introduced his first

The United Colours Of Benetton
The definition of a brand has evolved over the years, giving it a variety of meanings. Williams (2000)
defines it as a combination of names, slogans, logos, product design, packaging, advertising and
marketing that together give particular products or services a physical, recognisable form . Another
definition describes a brand as a form of crystallised knowledge (Arvidsson 2005 p. 7). Brands can
also use as a strategy to differentiate themselves from competitors, to potentially encourage the
consumer to recognise and purchase their goods. Hart and Murphy (1998) points out that people have
used brands and marks to distinguish products since the earliest times, dating back to 2000 BC .
According to research owners of cattle, slaves, timber and crockery would burn or brand they produce
using markings or symbols, using a hot rod iron. The term branding originates from the Old Norse
Brand , which means to burn (Kurtuldu, 2008).
The United Colours of Benetton is clothing company, especially known in the 1980s for its
flamboyant advertising campaigns which communicated social issues of the time. In the earlier years,
Benetton used standard forms of traditional advertising. However, in 1983 Benetton collaborated with
creative director Olivier Toscani who would transform the brand s image forever. Their advertisements
have proven to shock and mentally stimulate the viewer; as well as develop public consciousness.

Tartuffe, a Comedy by Molier
Tartuffe is one of the most famous comedies written by the French playwright Molière. The play tells
the story of a wealthy Frenchman named Orgon who takes in Tartuffe, a man who presents himself to
be religious and passionate but actually turns out to be a hypocrite. Despite his family s warnings,
Orgon completely turns his back on his family in order to protect Tartuffe, who betrays him. During
that time the play was first written and performed, many people, along with King Louis XIV himself,
enjoyed the play. However, to others it was seen as being critical of religion and the church, which
then lead to it being banned. In a political sense, Tartuffe serves as both an endorsement and critique
of the ideas of absolutism, divine right, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In those times, religion was hard to separate from politics and other aspects. Tartuffe was able to fool
people by claiming to be a devout man of God. If this were to happen with the King s advisors, it
could cause corruption throughout many parts of the kingdom. Molière does believe that the King
should seek advice from others, but he warns that he should listen to many opinions and think
carefully before making a final decision.
The divine right theory claims that the monarchs are specially selected by God to rule the kingdom.
Consequently, the King is responsible for his own actions and decisions. However, God is the only
one who can make judgments. So even if the King rules unfairly, that does not permit the citizens to
rebel against his rule. Rather, it is up to God to handle it. In Tartuffe, Molière seems to praise the King
for his fairness and mercy by pardoning Orgon in the end. Due to his previous loyalty to the throne, he
returned Orgon s property to him and forgave him for hiding the papers. The wise King also saw
through Tartuffe s deception and hypocrisy and had him arrested. These events in the story definitely
show Molière s support for King Louis XIV, as he knew that abolitionism and divine right were honest
intentions to rule the kingdom fairly.
Also during this time period, an emphasis was placed on patriarchal family. God has ultimate authority
over all, as He is the true

that are preventing the business from maximizing value, such as drivers having to sometimes go back
to the customer s location in order to collect money. Data consolidation in many areas of the process is
also wasting valuable resources that could be better focused elsewhere. This and other manual
procedures are partly responsible for mistakes being made and errors occurring. Having one live
database copy is impractical and ineffective, especially considering the company s virtual business
model. Changes are bound to arise and there needs to be a centralized place where all team members
can go to make updates and look up relevant information in real time. Emailing information back and
forth among several people makes it easy for some of that information to get lost in the mix. Kingo

Examples Of Damsel In Distress
Sonia Piątek
CHAPTER I: TYPES OF REPRESENTATION OF WOMEN IN VIDEO GAMES
1.1. Damsel in distress One of the most widely used clichés in video games is Damsel in distress. The
word comes from French demoiselle, which means young lady . Demoiselle en detresse translates into
damsel in distress . As a trope the damsel in distress is a plot device in which a female character is
placed in a perilous situation from which she cannot escape on her own and must be rescued by a male
character, usually providing a core incentive or motivation for the protagonist s quest.
First known example of the Damsel in distress can be seen in the myth about Perseus and his wife
Andromeda, who is chained naked to a rock by the sea as a sacrifice, and is then ... Show more content

The protagonist Booker DeWitt, is sent there to find a young lady called Elizabeth, who has been held
captive by her father Zachary Comstock in a tower for most of her life. The scenario sounds to be the
classic example of Damsel in distress, but when Booker reaches the tower, he realizes that she is not
so gentle, helpless and defenseless as he thinks. She is unlike any character that I have seen in a game,
especially when you play through the entire thing and you see how she evolves. DeWitt manages to
rescue Elizabeth and they both get involved in the city s conflict, during which she shows her strange,
but strong superpowers. Her character is well rounded. Her backstory is interesting and complex. Her
flaws and the way she expresses emotions makes her more real and human. She s resourceful and
quick witted, with the ability to break codes and pick locks like they re nothing (being locked in a
tower with nothing but books means she s got a lot of hobbies). Elizabeth has no experience with
shooting and fighting, but she effectively helps Booker. She looks for ammunition and health kits and
provides them to the main character. Her participation plays a vital role during battles. Elizabeth even
saves Booker life few times. That time Elizabeth gave him CRP on the beach when he almost
drowned, or that time she caught him with a blimp to save him from falling off the city, or that time
she gave herself up to Songbird to save his life. Elizabeth is essential to succeed. There is also no
sexual undertone in her relationship with Booker. Creative director of Irrational Games, said that In
terms of her body type, I think certainly people on the Internet have spent way more time thinking
about Elizabeth s chest than I have, he said. It s something I ve barely thought about. Levine said it
becomes disappointing for him when Elizabeth s measurements become the topic of conversation,
because this was

Panera Bread Company Essay
A loaf of bread in every arm is the mission statement of Panera Bread Company (Vincelette Fogarty,
2010, p.1). Panera started as a small bakery under the name Au Bon Pain and grew to one of the
largest fast food service companies in the U.S. In 2008 they had the 5th overall rating in the restaurant
industry. Panera Bread is widely recognized for driving the nationwide trend for specialty breads
(Panera Bread, 2011).
Company Timeline
Over $3 million in debt and preparing to file for bankruptcy Kane partnered with Ronald Shaich.
Shaich saw potential in Kane s business and the first strategic move was to offer extended menu
choices to boost morning sales. From 1981 1984 the company was expanding their business, they

The sale of Au Bon Pain lead to their corporate name change to Panera Bread Company. In the early
2000 s the company grew through franchise agreements, acquisitions and expansion. In 2010 Shaich
stepped down from his roll of CEO to the company s executive chairman to focus on concept and
strategy. Shaich had what he referred to as concept essence the blueprint of what he wanted to achieve.
Concept essence included a focus on artisan bread, quality products and a warm, and friendly, and
comfortable environment (Vincelette Fogarty, 2010, p4.).
Strategy
Panera has three business segments: Company owned bakery café, franchise operations and fresh
dough operations. The company s growth strategy was to grow their store profits, to increase
transactions and gross profits per transaction, use capital wisely and put into place drivers for concept
differentiations and competitive advantage (Vincelette Fogarty, 2010, p7.). In 2009 while everyone
else was experiencing the hard economic times Panera Bread was sticking to their strategic plan.
Panera did not lay off employees, or worry about closing underperforming stores. Instead, they
continued to add menu items and even increased prices on existing items. This strategy worked for
them and they were able to take advantage of clientele that came from fine dining. The company has

Analysis Of Shirley Jackson s Flower Garden
Known for her psychological thrillers, Shirley Jackson has always been able to get into the mind of
the reader and force them to think of the deeper meaning behind her stories. However, it is always
brought to question if her best selling works were a result of her poor mental health. Growing up,
Jackson had always felt like an outsider; dealing with a cruel mother and other children her age only
fueled her isolation later in life. As a way to record her feelings and thoughts, Jackson began writing
stories and including herself in ways through the characters. While Shirley Jackson s earlier stories are
often about people being oppressed and persecuted by closed minded communities, in her later work
she focussed increasingly on the demon ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She used her writing as a way to accuse real neighborhoods of this persecution and prejudice that was
happening within their communities. Those outside factors led to the downfall of her characters
opposed to other works where her character s downfall was themselves.
Another work that accounts for this change is The Lottery , one of her most famous pieces. The
Lottery is an early and extremely famous controversial work of Shirley Jackson s. This book once
again deals with problems within a community. Every year, the townspeople pull little slips of paper in
a box and each family living in the town draws out a slip. The family that draws the slip marked with
a black dot joins the orchestrator of the lottery on stage. Then each member of the family draws again
and the one who picks the one with the black dot this time is stoned to death. All of the villagers
contribute to the stoning, even the children and family members of whom is being killed. The
townspeople judge and persecute members of their society willingly without another thought about it.
Shirley Jackson used this short story to help the readers understand the oppression and persecution of
others at the time. While Shirley Jackson s mental health was never quite normal, she was able to
focus more on current events going on in the outside world much more than later in her life.
Contrary to her earlier works, The Daemon Lover , one of Jackson s later works

The Pros And Cons Of The Nuremberg Code
Tens of thousands of people have been tortured, killed, or experimented on for unfair and unjust
reasons. Some of the people didn t sign up for what they thought it was and were manipulated into the
situations. Others were forced upon the inhuman cruelties that no person should ever have to
endeavor. Without the Nuremberg Code, tons of unethical experiments were being conducted. The
Nuremberg Code is a very important document in regulating all scientific research for the better of
humans now, and in the future.
Without the Nuremberg Code there was many contradictories in the field of science that was cruel to
humanity. For example, many experiments done in the Nazi Experimentations were completely
unnecessary and resulted in tons of deaths. An article about the sun lamp experiment states, The
victims were placed under sunlamps which were so hot they would burn the skin. One young
homosexual victim was repeatedly cooled to unconsciousness then revived with lamps until he was
pouring with sweat. He died one evening after several test sessions ( Medical Experiments ). This
experiment wasn t justified with any reasonable explanation for why it was done. They should of
stopped when he went unconscious the first time instead of continuously torturing him by repeating
the procedure. Another time the Nazi scientists went to far was with the twin cases. The article later
says, After three weeks of tortuous medical examinations they were taken to the dissection laboratory.

Sternberg believes that psychology can help others in their everyday lives. Sternberg conducted this
study at an APA convention where he would give the audience members three quizzes based on his
research on learning, love and conflict resolution. The exercises showed that if your style doesn t
match with the three most important levels that you are involved in you are less likely to be
successful. There first quiz was revolved around how we think and learn in the work place it contained
three levels and each person has a varying amount of each. The three levels are the legislative,
judicial, and executive and everyone has a different style due to fact that we are all different. No one
level is better than the other, but it all depends on what task is being given. Furthermore, Sternberg s
second quizzed put emphasis on how we love impacts our relationships. There are also three levels
included in Sternberg s triangular theory of love, which include intimacy, passion and commitment.
Intimacy, passion, and commitment all positively related to successful relationships. How well the
levels matched with your partner would determine the happiness of the relationship. Also, the third
quiz involved how we solve conflict. Sternberg found that the way we solve conflict is steady and
almost universal. The article proves that the Psychology is important for the basic human interaction

Wars Of The Roses Research Paper
Wars of the Roses were a series of wars that took place in London. Both the house of york and the
House of Lancaster fought for the throne of England. Which both had rights to the English throne.
Both Houses were descendants from Edward the third, an english king. He had seven sons, five of
whom grew up to become adults. Edward the black prince, Lionel of antwerp, John of gaunt, Edmund
of langley, and Thomas of woodstock. John of gaunt was the duke of Lancaster and Edmund of
Langley was the duke of York. After Edward the black prince dies a year before his father, so the
crown went to edward the black princes son, Richard of bordeaux. he claimed the throne at the age of
10. So richard bordeaux became richard the second of England. In richards early year, he was a

A Brief Note On The North Fork Of Long Island
Going out to the North Fork of Long Island, many people indulge in the wineries dotted along the two
main roads. These wineries produce world renowned wines and have a great atmosphere. For those
who get a little hungry, they might stop at our multiple family owned farm stands and buy some fresh
salad greens, or go apple picking in the crisp fall air. This all sounds wonderful until you face the
facts. Without the overuse of many topical chemicals to treat for pests, fungus, and weeds, these
commodities would be much harder to come by. Chemicals such as PCB s, PHA s, and the now
banned DDT were all once used on these fertile farmlands of Long Island and since then may be a
direct factor to the rise in cancer rates on Long Island, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This hypothesis had lead scientists to believe that being within sight distance of a pre 1972 fogger
truck spraying DDT may be associated with the estrogen receptive tumors, the most common type of
breast cancer diagnosed among American women (White). While DDT is still banned, there is the
factor of biological magnification that is still present today. Biological magnification is the process in
which chemicals of small doses are absorbed into the fatty tissues of animals through the water they
drink, and as they are absorbed into the fatty tissues, they are then passed down to the offspring of the
animals through the mother s milk, and are absorbed into the offspring s fatty tissues. This is present
in humans just as much as animals, and has lead to the fact that DDT still exists in our ecosystem to
this day. Pesticides and other chemicals also enter the ecosystem through water sources. DDT is
commonly known to be soluble in water, and have great biological magnification factors in the
ecosystem of the Long Island Sound. In a study used in research done by Marietta College, there was
biological magnification of eight hundred times from the water to zooplankton. Then, fish will eat the
zooplankton, and those fish received another magnification of thirty one times. Then a larger fish eats
the first fish and receives a biological magnification of almost two times. Then the unfortunate larger
fish is eaten by a seagull which

Demand And Supply Of Oil Prices
The sporadic nature of oil prices has over the years posed as a great deal of concern to economists,
investors, financiers, consumers, analysts and other relevant stakeholders. In a perfect market, the
price of a commodity is an indication of the present circumstances as well as future signals that could
impact demand and supply. Ordinarily, we expect prices of commodities to move in response to
changes that affect demand and supply at a relatively normal rate. When prices change drastically
within a short period and consistently over time, then such market is fraught with high volatility a
typical case of the crude oil market. A sudden increase in oil price becomes a concern for the
consumer as it results into a reduction in his purchasing power; thereby struggling with allocation of
income among competing demands. For an investor, high price volatility increases risk associated
with the investment and also creates uncertainties. High volatility will impact the macroeconomic
variables in an economy including but not limited to unemployment, inflation, consumption,
investment and industrial output (Ebrahim, Inderwildi et al. 2014a). This paper seeks to evaluate oil
price volatility by examining the trend of oil price from 1970 to 2013. Attempts will be made to
explain the causes and root factors influencing price changes. Finally, a view on whether oil price
volatility is inevitable will be established. Annual U.S. Imported Crude Oil Prices Nominal vs.

Mozart Effect Lab Report
Title
The Effects of Music on the Growth of the Bacterium, Escherichia coli.
Introduction
The purpose of this experiment was to carry out an interesting, unique and uncommon project, just
from curiosity and experiment researches. From prior research, most experimenters chose to use the
Mozart Effect because it was proven to strengthen achievement on cognitive tests(EMedExpert, 1). In
this experiment, the genres of music chosen did not include classical music of any type. From recent
research expert scientists have proved that listening to any genre of music that is enjoyable by
preferences has positive effects on insight (EMedExpert, 1). For the beginning of this experiment,

average of 9.8 colonies grown, foreign music had an average of 11.6 colonies grown, and pop music

genre of pop music possibly had the same vibration rate, or beats per minute, similar to Mozart s
classical music. Though the pop song had an abundance of growth for colonies in bacteria, the foreign
song nearly had the same amount of growth for agar plate 11 and agar plate 15. Sources of error may
have been the connections between the 5 way headphone splitter jack, headphones, and mp3 player.
From results of experiment, sources of errors didn t seem to be a real issue of concern. Areas of

Essay about I am Vietnamese, I am American
I am Vietnamese, I am American
Durian fruit. When people ask me how I feel about my Vietnamese culture, the first thing that comes
to mind is durian fruit. Unlike the strawberries or cherries found at Safeway, durian fruit at first glance
does not even look edible. The entire fruit resembles a dirty old football, except that durian weighs
nearly three pounds. One inch spikes and a tough brown outer peel cover the fruit, giving it an
intimidating look. Inside, yellow, kidney shaped pieces line the peel like orange slices. As a child, I
hated durian. I refused to even taste it. Later on, when I was older, my mother bribed me with two
dollars to try the meaty flesh. I fell in love with the fruit instantly. Its heavenly aroma tantalized ...

I dreamed of living in a big house like his, with nice new furniture. I wanted my parents to be just like
his caring, loving, and smiling all the time. Richie s parents always seemed to be home. Never once
did Richie come home to an empty house. He always joyfully greeted his mother after school by
tossing his books on the couch, running over to give her a hug, and saying, Mother, dear, I am home.
If I could not have all of this, I decided, I would settle for merely hanging out with the white,
American crowd. After all, Richie Cunningham hung out with white guys at Al s Cafe. To be like
Richie Cunningham, I concluded, was to be American.
Sometimes, after watching Happy Days, I would pull a chair into the cramped little bathroom in our
apartment and look at myself in the cracked mirror above the rusty sink. I always felt sad. In the
cracked reflection, I saw a small face with no blue eyes, no red hair, and no red freckles. I wondered if
my skin would ever fade to the nicer shade of white. I even tried to imitate Richie s clean, accent free
voice and realized that I could not get rid of the Vietnamese influence on my English. As the years
passed, I still lugged that same chair into the same decrepit bathroom, realizing more and more every
year that my dreams of gaining Richie s stature would never come true.

Why Batteries Are Very Important
Batteries, The Science Behind Them, and Their Importance Batteries are extremely important. But
most people don t know the science behind it or how imperative they really are. Today, I will tell you
about this, the items they power, they re importance, and how they really work. A battery is a device
that stores electrical energy in the form of chemical energy. When it comes to the use of batteries, they
are imperative to most people s lives. They re used for practically everything like flashlights, watches,
calculators, phones, laptops, and power tools. Bigger things include cars, trucks, buses, lawn mowers,
wheel chairs, forklifts, trains, and satellites. So they re very important and even more important when
you consider that they power smoke and carbon dioxide detectors. As said before, society is heavily
impacted by batteries. Without them, everything would always need to be plugged in, or need to be
charged. There d be lots of outlets and plugs without batteries. But how many important everyday
items do we use that run on batteries? Well, there would be no such thing as wrist watches or
flashlights or anything portable that runs on electricity. Batteries make everything so convenient, we
forget about them. Switching on the TV, texting on your mobile while walking around, or taking
pictures would never be so easy if ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A battery has three main parts: it has two terminals made of chemicals, which are called the anode and
the cathode. There s also the electrolyte, which detaches the two terminals. The electrolyte is a
chemical medium. It allows the flow of electrical charge between the cathode and anode and when a
device is connected to a battery the chemical on the anode releases electrons to the negative terminal.
This is called an oxidation reaction. While this is happening, at the positive terminal the cathode
accepts electrons. This completes the circuit for the flow of

Eutrophication Essay
Eutrophication comes from the Greek word eutrophos meaning well nourished. In other words, this
natural process found in water occurs as a result of additional rich nutrients forming a flourish in plant
production.
At this moment in time, eutrophication is causing worldwide devastation to not only aquatic life, but
the fishing industry. The release of nutrients into fresh water lakes, rivers and reservoirs leads to
excessive growth of three different plant species:
a) Open water algae (phytoplankton)
b) Attached algae (periphyton)
c) Higher plants (macrophytes)
Above all, these organisms encourage the growth of algae, which absorb dissolved oxygen in the
water essential for the survival of fish populations. Occasionally, ... Show more content on

This is an example of phytoplankton as it is suspended freely on the surface of most rivers and lakes.
Now, of course, the open water algae have optimum solar energy, a sufficient supply of water from
below and carbon dioxide which is absorbed from either the water or sediments. Photosynthesis is
more likely to happen and trigger the production of algal blooming [Fig 2] as oxygen will stimulate
plant respiration.
I believe that low dissolved oxygen (DO) is the most destructive effect of eutrophication, depriving
aquatic life of food and natural habitats. Nevertheless high concentrations of DO may assist algae in
their production, so adequate proportions are essential to ensure a constant environment. Other factors
associated with this process include too much organic matter which is made up of carbon atoms and
carbon carbon, C C bonds. This indirectly effects fish life as eggs and food sources are smothered.

  • 5. Crime And Social Control Theory Essay Social control theory refers the ideas that society is responsible for maintaining law abiding citizens and/or producing deviant behavior (Hagan, 2016). The textbook generalizes that social control theories view crime as taking place when social control or bonds to society break down (Hagan, 2016, p. 170). This is concluded by the theories of four theorists Walter Reckless, Travis Hirschi, Michael Gottfredson, and John Hagan who investigated and theorized different philosophies that explain the relationship between crime and social control (Hagan, 2016). Reckless s theory of containment is one of the most prominent and earliest models of social control theory (Hagan, 2016). Reckless theorized that individuals have various social controls (containments) that assist them in resisting pressures that draw them toward criminality (Hagan, 2016, p. 170). This theory holds that social factors and external or internal pressures influence individuals to either abide by the law or produce criminality (Hagan, 2016). A second theory is Hirschi s social bond theory that states delinquency takes place when a person s bonds to society are weakened or broken, thus reducing personal stakes in conformity (Hagan, 2016, p. 170). Hirschi posited that the bonds consist of four components: Commitment, belief, involvement, and attachment (Hagan, 2016). Commitment refers to an individual s responsibilities, such as a job or providing for a family (Hagan, 2016). It states if an individual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Advantages and Disadvantages of the Unitary, Confederation and the Federal system of the Government We can look at governmental systems as a continuum from a unitary type to a confederacy with federalism sitting in the middle. The unitary government is often described as a centralized government. It is a government in which all powers held by the government belong to a single, central agency. However federal government also has the advantages and disadvantages. The advantages of the Federal unity is that local government handles local problems also the local government and officials have to be very responsive of the people who elect them. The MQ 1 Predator and MQ 9 Reaper aerial drones are seeing an increase in use, while remote controlled robots are being used to dispose of improvised explosive devises. At what point do these computer systems move from machines capable of unethical actions, to machines whose very existence is unethical? I argue that fully automated systems should not be used in an offensive manner; rather they can only see ethical uses in limited defensive roles. In exploring this question I will draw on the only fully autonomous US armed forces weapon system I am aware of, the Phalanx CIWS, a missile defense system ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Phalanx checks that the missile is coming toward the ship, it does this to avoid shooting down friendly missiles. It checks to see if the missile is able to hit the ship, based on its speed and heading. It also checks to see if the missile fits within a velocity bracket in which missiles tend to fall. These are not an exhaustive list of fail safes to ensure Phalanx only engages enemy projectiles, however it gives an idea of the design thinking behind the system. I believe that Phalanx CIWS falls into the third category presented in Who s in Charge of the Chip?, that category being machines capable of harmful consequences. I believe it falls into this one by the process of elimination, it isn t designed with a malicious intent, quite the opposite, its intent is to protect. Secondly, it seems to have been designed with safety in mind as there are a battery of conditions that must be fulfilled in order for the gun to fire. This leaves only the third category as a possibility. As I am about to show the Phalanx has been shown capable of causing bad consequences. I found two instances where a Phalanx system has acted in a way we would deem undesirable. First, in February 1991, during the First Gulf War, a Phalanx system aboard the frigate USS Jarrett fired upon the battleship USS Missouri. Wright Mills The term sociological imagination is the ability to recognize that as individuals we are also apart of the large society. it also helps us to see situations socially and ways they inter and influence each other. In the The Promise , C. Wright Mills defines sociological imagination as a individual s ability to recognize the influence of their society of key historical happening on their own life struggle . He conveys that an individual cannot strive if she/she doesn t recognize the history occurring in the world them. Specifically, Mills suggests that, the sociological imagination enables its possessor to understand the larger historical sense in terms of its meaning for the inner life and the external career of a variety of individuals (Mills,1959,p. 2). The problem within the work unit is that we tend to be complacent and sees things as they are and not as they could be. The Agency s mission is To responsibly provide access to quality health coverage for vulnerable Mississippians. In order to accurately carry out this mission, the Office of Appeals needs to aggressively keep up with advances in technology (i.e. computer application and software), and eagerly embrace new found ways of ensuring that our clients receive information and assistance as quick and efficiently as possible. My plan to solve this problem is to create, and then recommend implementing a new communication record for tracking beneficiaries and clients request for a state eligibility hearing. Each record will be assigned an appeal number that would allow us to track the case from receipt through resolution. To date, the Office of Appeals is utilizing an Excel spreadsheet to record and track incoming requests (See Attachment I). The spreadsheet displays data in text and numbers, which allows sorting and calculations. The problem with the spreadsheet is it does not effectively provide electronic tracking of incoming eligibility appeal requests from the Agency s thirty (30) regional offices. Also, the problem is that the spreadsheet does not allow space for more specific data to be entered that is considered pertinent to the case (See Attachment ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Science has discovered that humans share approximately ninety seven percent of the same DNA with chimpanzees, and that humans have one less chromosome than monkeys. Charles Darwin, a nineteenth century English naturalist, developed a controversial peace that challenged the established theories of how humans developed, which until his time, remained based heavily on the Christian Churches. His Theory of Evolution, and the Roman Catholic Church s response (or lack thereof) to the theory has brought increased criticism from liberal theologians and scientists alike about whether or not the Church is serious about evolution and science in general. This comes as an admittedly liberal organization, National Public Radio, released an article that detailed how At Johns Hopkins University, research suggests that chemicals that act on the serotonin system trigger mystical experiences that are life altering. Another definition describes a brand as a form of crystallised knowledge (Arvidsson 2005 p. 7). Brands can also use as a strategy to differentiate themselves from competitors, to potentially encourage the consumer to recognise and purchase their goods. Despite his family s warnings, Orgon completely turns his back on his family in order to protect Tartuffe, who betrays him. During that time the play was first written and performed, many people, along with King Louis XIV himself, enjoyed the play. In those times, religion was hard to separate from politics and other aspects. Tartuffe was able to fool people by claiming to be a devout man of God. If this were to happen with the King s advisors, it could cause corruption throughout many parts of the kingdom. Molière does believe that the King should seek advice from others, but he warns that he should listen to many opinions and think carefully before making a final decision. The divine right theory claims that the monarchs are specially selected by God to rule the kingdom. Consequently, the King is responsible for his own actions and decisions. However, God is the only one who can make judgments. So even if the King rules unfairly, that does not permit the citizens to rebel against his rule. Rather, it is up to God to handle it. In Tartuffe, Molière seems to praise the King for his fairness and mercy by pardoning Orgon in the end. Due to his previous loyalty to the throne, he returned Orgon s property to him and forgave him for hiding the papers. The wise King also saw through Tartuffe s deception and hypocrisy and had him arrested. These events in the story definitely show Molière s support for King Louis XIV, as he knew that abolitionism and divine right were honest intentions to rule the kingdom fairly. Though the pop song had an abundance of growth for colonies in bacteria, the foreign song nearly had the same amount of growth for agar plate 11 and agar plate 15. Sources of error may have been the connections between the 5 way headphone splitter jack, headphones, and mp3 player. From results of experiment, sources of errors didn t seem to be a real issue of concern. Areas of improvement may be to choose genres of music already tested so the data collected can be compared to actual results of expert ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 32. Essay about I am Vietnamese, I am American I am Vietnamese, I am American Durian fruit. When people ask me how I feel about my Vietnamese culture, the first thing that comes to mind is durian fruit. Unlike the strawberries or cherries found at Safeway, durian fruit at first glance does not even look edible. The entire fruit resembles a dirty old football, except that durian weighs nearly three pounds. One inch spikes and a tough brown outer peel cover the fruit, giving it an intimidating look. Inside, yellow, kidney shaped pieces line the peel like orange slices. As a child, I hated durian. I refused to even taste it. Later on, when I was older, my mother bribed me with two dollars to try the meaty flesh. I fell in love with the fruit instantly. Its heavenly aroma tantalized ... Richie s parents always seemed to be home. Never once did Richie come home to an empty house. He always joyfully greeted his mother after school by tossing his books on the couch, running over to give her a hug, and saying, Mother, dear, I am home. If I could not have all of this, I decided, I would settle for merely hanging out with the white, American crowd. After all, Richie Cunningham hung out with white guys at Al s Cafe. To be like Richie Cunningham, I concluded, was to be American. Sometimes, after watching Happy Days, I would pull a chair into the cramped little bathroom in our apartment and look at myself in the cracked mirror above the rusty sink. I always felt sad. In the cracked reflection, I saw a small face with no blue eyes, no red hair, and no red freckles. I wondered if my skin would ever fade to the nicer shade of white. I even tried to imitate Richie s clean, accent free voice and realized that I could not get rid of the Vietnamese influence on my English. As the years passed, I still lugged that same chair into the same decrepit bathroom, realizing more and more every year that my dreams of gaining Richie s stature would never come true. I looked to my Vietnamese parents to see if they shared any characteristics with Richie Cunningham s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Why Batteries Are Very Important Batteries, The Science Behind Them, and Their Importance Batteries are extremely important. But most people don t know the science behind it or how imperative they really are. Today, I will tell you about this, the items they power, they re importance, and how they really work. A battery is a device that stores electrical energy in the form of chemical energy. When it comes to the use of batteries, they are imperative to most people s lives. They re used for practically everything like flashlights, watches, calculators, phones, laptops, and power tools. Bigger things include cars, trucks, buses, lawn mowers, wheel chairs, forklifts, trains, and satellites. So they re very important and even more important when you consider that they power smoke and carbon dioxide detectors. As said before, society is heavily impacted by batteries. Without them, everything would always need to be plugged in, or need to be charged. There d be lots of outlets and plugs without batteries. But how many important everyday items do we use that run on batteries? Well, there would be no such thing as wrist watches or flashlights or anything portable that runs on electricity. Batteries make everything so convenient, we forget about them. Switching on the TV, texting on your mobile while walking around, or taking pictures would never be so easy if ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A battery has three main parts: it has two terminals made of chemicals, which are called the anode and the cathode. There s also the electrolyte, which detaches the two terminals. The electrolyte is a chemical medium. It allows the flow of electrical charge between the cathode and anode and when a device is connected to a battery the chemical on the anode releases electrons to the negative terminal. This is called an oxidation reaction. While this is happening, at the positive terminal the cathode accepts electrons. This completes the circuit for the flow of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Eutrophication Essay Eutrophication comes from the Greek word eutrophos meaning well nourished. In other words, this natural process found in water occurs as a result of additional rich nutrients forming a flourish in plant production. At this moment in time, eutrophication is causing worldwide devastation to not only aquatic life, but the fishing industry. The release of nutrients into fresh water lakes, rivers and reservoirs leads to excessive growth of three different plant species: a) Open water algae (phytoplankton) b) Attached algae (periphyton) c) Higher plants (macrophytes) Above all, these organisms encourage the growth of algae, which absorb dissolved oxygen in the water essential for the survival of fish populations. Occasionally, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is an example of phytoplankton as it is suspended freely on the surface of most rivers and lakes. Now, of course, the open water algae have optimum solar energy, a sufficient supply of water from below and carbon dioxide which is absorbed from either the water or sediments. Photosynthesis is more likely to happen and trigger the production of algal blooming [Fig 2] as oxygen will stimulate plant respiration. I believe that low dissolved oxygen (DO) is the most destructive effect of eutrophication, depriving aquatic life of food and natural habitats. Nevertheless high concentrations of DO may assist algae in their production, so adequate proportions are essential to ensure a constant environment. Other factors associated with this process include too much organic matter which is made up of carbon atoms and carbon carbon, C C bonds. This indirectly effects fish life as eggs and food sources are smothered. Algal chlorophyll in Mj #248;sa, Norway In the past 10 years, NIVA (Norwegian Institute for Water Research) have continued to measure the concentrations of chlorophyll in almost 350 Norwegian freshwater lakes. The results have been used to demonstrate the quantities of phytoplankton The graph indicates that between 1980 and 1985 there was a rapid increase in the mean proportions of chlorophyll in phytoplankton and other algae micro organisms. 1986 brought about nutrient Control programs which
