How Did Robert Owen Teach Poor Children
Based on our discussions in class, our readings, video clips and the readings that discuss about the
education provided in nineteenth century England for poor children and orphans who normally
wouldn t be able to afford it, there seems to be two sides to the story. One side you have a document

interest of knowledge and a clip showing how Styal Mill School was teaching kids with multiple
useful tools and even how to cure sickness and were even provided good beds . However on the other

Naturalism And Naturalism
To start things off, both versions touched on the four traits in which naturalism convey. Those four
traits being heredity, passion, instinct, and environment. However, not all traits were expressed the
same, and not all traits had the same substance or background information within the stories. For
starters in Version A, each character was identified by their gender, but in Version B, the character had
an actual name. Version A suggests This fact did not worry the man (London 629). However, in
Version B it states In the Klondike, as Tom Vincent... (1). This goes against the whole basis of
naturalism. Naturalism is very raw and philosophical when it comes to identity. In the sense of not
caring for names. It ll rather identify something ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nevertheless, Version A had a little twist to it because unlike Version B, the man in Version A had a
dog to accompany him. The dog played a very pivotal role in this story. In Version A, you see the true
fashion of Eric Link s method of Scientific Naturalism. The story shows how the man was willing to
kill the dog, so that he could use the carcass to relieve his hands from the numbness. Version A stated
He remembered the tale of the man, caught in a blizzard, who killed a steer and crawled inside the
carcass, and so was saved (London 636). In other words, he was willing to take a life to save his own.
This is naturalism at its finest because in order to live, sometimes we have to do the unthinkable.
Survival of the fittest plays a crucial role in life or death situations. In addition to that, when it comes
to death in naturalism; we tend to have two choices. Either you accept defeat and die or you go out
swinging, and maybe just maybe you will live. In both stories, the men are about to freeze to death.
However, one begins to panic and accept his demise. While the other begins to think of a solution.
Version A states There were lots worse ways to die (London 638). This shows the pessimistic side of
the man in Version A. This goes hand to hand with Becker s definition of naturalism. Which touches
on the subjects of being hopeless. Version B states Burned hands are better than dead hands. No hands
at all were better than death (5). This shows the instinct of man

The Importance Of Tourism And Tourism In Vietnam
The trip to Vietnam from the 16th of November to the 1st of December was an eye opener to my life
as I saw how the locals live and operate daily. This has helped myself gain a new perspective on life.
With gaining a new perspective it has helped myself understand and give direction to achieve my
future goals and personally help with figuring out a which career path within tourism and hospitality I
would like to go down. Over recent years in Vietnam tourism and hospitality impacted the local lives
which helped myself understand how they live the way they do. Travelling to diverse cities such as Ho
Chi Minh, Hoi An and Halong Bay showed me that Vietnam has different aspects on offer to help
myself understand their cultural but also the hospitality and tourism industry. The hospitality and
tourism within each city support the history of Vietnam. This increases the experience economy as
individual travel for their traditions but also to be educated about Vietnam and their past.
When visiting the University of Economics, Ho Chi Minh I had the chance to meet several of their
students. Long Ngugyen and Minh Tri Phan Duy, who helped Chloe, Sarah, Rebecca and I with our
project. During the project, we learned about the tourism and hospitality industry throughout Vietnam.
Travelling to areas such as walking street which is Nguyen Hue St, Pham Ngu Lao Street and the
Sense Market from my own observations and personal experiences I could see this as tourist hot spots.

Essay on Measuring Customer Satisfaction in Government...
Being in the government sector the research for customer satisfaction was focused on governmental
agencies and the aspects associated with those agencies. Most citizens have a preconceived idea about
government agencies and I wanted to see if those preconceived ideas were based on real experiences.
This was done by researching and finding results either supporting or contradicting this notion.
According to Tom Schoop the government does as well as any big company as far as customer
satisfaction. (Schoop 2006) I work for a contractor, ResCare that is assigned by the Dallas County

This was best illustrated with the failure of the Healthcare Act s website s inability to handle this
increasing demand. (ACSI Federal Government Report 2013, 2014) The best way for the federal
government to address these customer issues is improve access to the websites. Encourage agencies to
communicate with the customer and learn accessing behaviors and functions that would increase the
ability to access the website efficiently.
The second area is in the state of Texas customer satisfaction with the Texas Workforce Commission.
As mentioned previously, the recipients of unemployment benefits (UI) have only two options to
access their benefits or their profiles as well as file claims. The 1 800 phone number or through the
Texas Workforce Commission s (TWC) website. This area I have over three years experience and have
observed customer s reactions as well as read customer surveys. This has increased confusion in older
and first time recipients. Many of the older recipients received UI benefits previously when they
would visit a TWC office to file their claim and receive benefits. This has all been move to the phone
or the Internet so they require additional assistance where it was not needed previously. This creates
confusion and further irritates the customer when they arrive at the Workforce Center expecting the

How brilliant would it be to see the most favorite Disney Princess in the form of Renaissance Art?
This art project will focus in the time period of the Renaissance, a period where cultural rebirth
occured in Europe after the Middle Ages. Both paintings, Mona Lisa and Mulan, done by two different
artist in different time periods, were inspired by the art movement and classical techniques. While
from a distance there does seem to be noticeable similarities between the two paintings presented
above, there is a difference once one looks closely such as lack of accessories. During the
Renaissance, there were many great artists that emerged during that time period. Many who were
interested to revive languages, values, and intellectual traditions from Greek or Roman Empire. One
of the greatest artist that emerged during the Renaissance is Leonardo Da Vinci. He is named in
history books or articles as the Renaissance genius for his artistic skills and scientific circles.
Leonardo Da Vinci was also described as an inventor of many machines , many that were seen as

In this paper, use of Moringa oleifera seeds for purifying water is discussed. A study was carried out to
know the efficiency of Moringa oleifera seed suspension for removal of turbidity and hardness of
water. Turbid water sample of low turbidity (50 mg/L) was prepared in the laboratory using bentonite
clay, kaolin clay and black cotton soil. Moringa oleifera seed suspension was added as coagulant in
concentration of 20, 40, 60, and 80 mg/L. The hardness removal efficiency was checked on water
sample from tube well in the vicinity of Aurangabad city (India). The initial hardness of water sample
was 284 mg/L. The dosages of Moringa Oleifera seed suspension were 125, 250, 375 and 500 mg/L.
In addition to hardness, effect on pH, electrical conductivity, total dissolved solids and salinity was
also studied. Moringa Oleifera seed suspension was found to be effective in treating the water.

Nitric Oxide (NO) and the Nervous System Essay
Nitric Oxide (NO) and the Nervous System
Better known as an environmental hazard, nitric oxide (NO) is produced in combustion engines and
contributes to smog and acid rain and has been implicated in the catalytic destruction of the ozone
layer (Lancaster;1992). Though NO is the bad boy of the environment, it s roles in the body are
extremely diverse and in some instances can be deleterious or beneficial depending on the
circumstances. NO has been connected with immune function, control of blood pressure and
hypertension, impotence and penile erection, septic shock, insulin dependent diabetes mellitus, and
macrophage mediated destruction of oncogenic cells (Young;1993, Stroh;1992). However, its
activities in the nervous system may be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
NO is synthesized by NOS from L arginine and molecular oxygen with the concomitant release of
citrulline; NADPH and tetrahydrobiopterin are required as cofactors (Lancaster;1992).
In order to understand NO s neurobiological roles, some of NO s biochemistry and physiology must
be discussed. NO s radical structure, fleeting half life, and rapid diffusibility make it an ideal
neurotransmitter, albeit an unconventional one. In the peripheral vascular blood supply, acetylcholine
or bradykinin act on endothelial cells in the vessels which causes a release of endothelium derived
relaxation factor (EDRF) which has been verified to be NO (Snyder;1992). Acetylcholine or
bradykinin causes an increase in the intracellular Ca2+ concentration through the action of inositol
triphosphate; the increased intracellular Ca+ binds the calmodulin site in NOS and stimulates the
synthesis of NO which rapidly diffuses away from its site of synthesis to the tunica muscularis of
blood vessels causing vasodilation (Murray;1993). In this manner, NO is a sort of second
neurotransmitter potentiating the effects of acetylcholine or bradykinin on the muscular layer of blood
vessels. In this system, NOS is located in the endothelial cells; however, in the cerebral arteries, NOS
is located in the nerve plexus themselves in the outer layer of cerebral arteries, and the cell bodies of
these neurons lie in the sphenopalatine

Death of a Salesman Questions
One comes to know Willy over several key points in the play. One especially revealing point is in the
beginning of the play he comes home from work and contradicts himself to no end, when talking

thing about Biff he s not lazy later in the same dialogue. This shows that Willy is unstable in his
thoughts and not in the right mind.
Uncle Charley is the foil to Willy in the way Charley always set realistic goals and was very truthful to
himself while Willy was always telling himself he was the best and he could do anything he wanted to
which was not realistic. To Biff Bernard is his foil due to the fact in high school Bernard focused on

Literary Analysis Of Dystopian Literature
Textual Analysis Final DraftEven for those who do not enjoy reading, there is a genre that may peek
interest. The dystopian genre is unique and offers readers both suspense and action with a balance
between reality and fantasy. Dystopian literature is a genre of fictional writing used to explore social
and political structures in a dark, nightmare world (Questia par 1). In order to form this nightmare
world, the author must send a message of warning to readers regarding the reality of their characters,
often utilizing literary devices to do so. In order to compose the dystopian atmosphere, the author may
use dark images based on the their often grim tone which creates the frightening setting. Furthermore,
a dystopian author may use a disturbing motif, repeating the off putting theme throughout a work of
literature, or they may use personification to make political entities seem more ominous. One of the
most famous dystopian novels that contains such devices is 1984 by George Orwell. It is a story set in
a fascist political setting where the main character Winston Smith rebelled against the surveilling
Party and ended up being detained for the purpose of brainwashing him into developing a fondness for
the government. George Orwell demonstrated the dystopian genre in his novel 1984 through the use of
haunting atmosphere, fear motif, and personification of Big Brother because he successfully created a
horrifying political realm. The first way Orwell demonstrated the dystopian genre was by creating a

Essay on Hell s Kitchen and the Capeman Murder
Hell s Kitchen and the Capeman Murder
Hell s Kitchen is the section of Manhattan that is between 34th and 59th Streets and from 8th Avenue
to the Hudson River. It was the home of New York s most dangerous criminals from the early
tenement days to Prohibition to the Westies. The population consisted of poor people who lived in a
disorderly fashion and expressed themselves with a demanding spirit. Mayhem and reports of criminal
homicide from the late nineteenth century on supply a good idea of daily life in Hell s Kitchen. These
reports illustrate a neighborhood full of crime, poverty, religious worship, hard work and family
commitment. Vampires, Dragons, and Egyptian Kings divided by race, ethnicity, and neighborhood

Second, during the drafting of the Civil War there was a lot of chaos and many fatal riots against the
rich because they were able to buy there way out of the war, including the protest of the Conscription
Act. Differences in the beliefs of these people led to a segregated community and the creation of gangs
had begun. The first neighborhood gangs were formed by the massive amount of children (often
referred to as sea urchins) that became homeless after the Civil War. The Dutch Heinrichs led the 19th
Street Gang and it was known as one of the most infamous cliques around. They commanded tribute
from factory owners and merchants, they broke into houses and they abused and robbed strangers. The
gang s leader Dutch Heinricks was incarcerated after attacking a police Captain. Thereafter came the
Gophers, who were targeted for arrest after the slaying of a man named William Lennon in a bar at
45th Street and 11th Avenue, and the Dead Rabbits who lived in the filthy tenements west of 7th
Avenue in the 20 s and 30 s. By the 1900 s, 36th Street to 59th Street west of 9th Avenue became an
area of dirty tenements and factories forming a depressing and dark neighborhood that carried out the
nature of slum life. The murder rate (often committed by gang members) in this section of the city
continuously multiplied. The practices of the local criminal and the Westies gang in the middle of the

Apostle s Closing Admonitions
The Apostle s Closing Admonitions and Benediction (16:10 24)
E. Harrison (p. 275) summarizes the message of the Epistle in these words: The greatest single overall
emphasis seems to be on the unity of the local church as the body of Christ, which is brought out not
only in connection with the discussion of the groups (i.e.; the factions within the church), but also in
relation to the Lord s Supper and spiritual gifts. A corollary is the sanctity of the church as members of
Christ, both corporately and individually, (note, especially, such passages as 1 Cor. 3:16 17 and 6:15
20.) We may add, it is in this Epistle that the Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul most eloquently sets
forth the supremacy of love as the most excellent way, which the Christian is called to follow (1 Cor.

The Mystery Surrounding the Missing Letters
The References to Two Other Letters
Sometime after his initial visit to Corinth, probably while he was ministering in Ephesus, Paul wrote a
letter to the church, a letter to which he alludes in 1 Cor. 5:9, I wrote to you in my epistle not to have
any company with fornicators. As D. Guthrie points out (p. 426), the gist of the contents of that
previous letter may be inferred from 1 Cor. 5:9 13.
The apostle had evidently issued a warning to the Corinthians to maintain a clear separation from
those persons who continued to exhibit the pagan lifestyle that was characteristic of Corinth. (As we
have seen, the city was renowned for its

Oedipus Relationship Between Hamlet and Gertrude
The Oedipal Relationship between Hamlet and Gertrude
Throughout William Shakespeare s Hamlet, Shakespeare portrays Hamlet with the same types of
behaviors and frustrations in humans that Sigmund Freud saw at a much later date. When the
relationship between Hamlet and his mother is analyzed Freud s oedipal complex theory comes to
mind.
Sigmund Freud first wrote about his theory in his book An Interpretation of Dreams in 1899. Simply
put, Freud states that it is normal for children to have sexual desires for their parent of the opposite
sex. He says that it is also normal to have feelings of hatred for the other parent that is of the same sex
as the child. Most children experience these feelings between the ages of three and five, ... Show more

He states that she seeks out incestuous pleasure of his bed. (3.4 . l. 90) This exploring of his mother s
carnal nature is because he is sexually concerned for her. Hamlet also makes many allusions to beds
and sex in the scene because beds are where most sexual activity occurs. An example of this is when
Hamlet says: In the rank sweat of an enseamented bed Stew d (3.4 . l. 93 96) It is possible that here
Shakespeare wanted to show how Hamlet s rage brought out all his repressed sexually desires for his
mother because of Hamlet s concentration on Gertrude s sex life. All of these words come out in
Hamlet s rage because before he had repressed them. It can be best explained by Freud when he sates
the complex which is thus formed is doomed to early repression (Freud 51) but it has a lasting
influence from the unconscious. (Freud 51) It could be concluded from a Freudian point of view that
in this scene Hamlet s repressed sexual desire for his mother surfaces due to his rage in a form of
sexual allusions.
The significance of the closet scene taking place in Gertrude s bedroom is also important to look at
because the privacy and intimacy of the bedroom add a new dimension when Hamlet s and Gertrude s
relationship is examined. Bedrooms are very private and are usually places where sexual activity takes
place. Shakespeare possibly placed Hamlet and Gertrude in these

The World Of Graphic Design
The world of Graphic Design has been revolutionized time and time again with many artists setting
high standards for aspiring graphic designers. Two artists who are interesting and innovative in their
own ways are graphic designers Chipp Kidd and Jennifer Morla. Kidd has created many design
successes with some of his most famous book jackets being Jurassic Park, Naked by Davis Sedaris
and All the Pretty Horses. The designs of the books are all drastically diverse, making it difficult to
pinpoint the designs to one single artist. However dissimilar the designs are, they have two things in
common; they are innovative and perfectly reflect the content of the pages between the covers.
Jennifer Morla is an artist with a differing career from Kidd. She focuses on branding of companies
rather than book jackets. She has worked with companies such as Levi s, Apple Computer, Design
Within Reach, Wells Fargo, Herman Miller to help form a clean brand for the companies. I am
researching the histories of both Chipp Kidd and Jennifer Morla because they are both trailblazers in
the Graphic Design world and have come from drastically different backgrounds. Their histories and
accomplishments can have a great impact on aspiring graphic designers.
To begin, we will take a trip back in time to the summer of 1964. This was the time when perhaps the
most recognizable book cover designer, Chip Kidd, was born. He grew up in a small town in
Pennsylvania and his infatuation for pop culture and

Staring out the window watching building upon building pass by, I felt empty inside. I thought that I

Definition Essay About Moving To America
The definition of an American is hard to explain. Some believe it is only about being born in North
America, others believe it is about where your ancestors came from. The real definition of an
American is someone who is free. Free to choose any occupation they want to do, free to get a good
education, and free to speak or act for what they believe in.
One of the many reasons immigrants have moved to America is because of the large amount of job
opportunities available to anyone looking for work. Which explains why America is called the land of
opportunity. In America and I by Anzia Yezierska, a story about a woman moving to America to fulfill

Moral Absolutism And Moral Relativism
Moral Relativism is classified under any positions concerning the differences in moral judgments
between people and the culture. Moral relativism is the position that ethical or moral propositions
make claims regarding cultural or personal circumstances. Moral Relativism affirms relative form of
validation of moral statements but doesn t deny them. Moral relativist typically view the ethical
standards of right or wrong are culturally based and are issued to a person s individual decision.
Instead of making their decision on what is right, decisions are based on self interest. This procedure
has a negative impact on behavior and will affected the way we treat others. Moral absolutism is a
moral view that certain actions are inherently right or wrong. Moral absolution, in more depth, is a
belief that there are established standards against moral questions that can be judged and certain
actions are considered right or wrong. Absolutism represents that ethics and morals come from within
the laws of the universe, the nature of humanity, the will of God. Moral absolutists base their decision

Eddie Mabo Case Study
In the Eddie Mabo case, the case related to the ownership and control of land. However, aboriginal
land rights were not recognised. In this case there were two major principles, which were terra nullius
and native title. Terra Nullis is a legal principle indicating that a particular part of land doesn t belong
to anyone or could be considered as no man s land. Only Captain Cook in 1770 claimed all of the east
coast under international recognised law at the time. It followed three ground rules. The rules were if
the land is uninhabited, any country could claim ownership and settle the land under the principle of
terra nullius. If the land was inhabited, another country could request the leaders of the indigenous
inhabitants for permission to make use of some of the land. This may involve making a land purchase,
or coming to some other agreement such as treaty which was agreeable to the indigenous population.
The last rule meant that a country already inhabited could be conquered through invasion and war, ...

Western Australia created the Land (Titles and Traditional usages) Act 1993. This Act was to end the

Previously the Commonwealth Government tried to keep away from the conflicts between State
Governments over indigenous land rights. However, the then PM Paul Keating of the Labour
Government wanted to find a way to help those in need of rights. There was a risk with this decision
as some other State Governments might try to legislate to stop indigenous land rights as Western

Routing the water to benefit Boston is yet another option besides holding it back. Flood proofing
infrastructures from potential risks is another of Boston s reactions towards rising sea levels, as well as
floating and elevating buildings ( Sea Change: Boston Exhibition ). The article Sea Change: Boston
Exhibition simplifies the steps of action as fortify, adapt, and retreat. These three simple words are key
concepts within this momentous environmental conversation. Flood proofing buildings is a mode of
fortifying because Bostonians will strengthen their walls in doing so. This method must be durable
enough to hold back repeated surges of water during storms. Floating buildings in the flood is a way
of incorporating the water into the city s overall landscape. It is a way of adaptation when fortifying
infrastructure does not suffice. Still, the building will need a type of flood proofing substance to keep
water out. These structures will appear drastically different than the current city built on land. As for
elevation, this is a method of retreating from rising seas. It is a way of escaping the waters when all
else disappoints and having this third option available brings confidence. Raising the geography

Edward De Vere
The authorship of all of Shakespeare s genius literature is the biggest detective story. It is one that has

I have read many of the reasons as to why the 17th Earl of Oxford depicts a better candidate for these

Edward De Vere was a graduate at the age of 14. A man with that much genius must have published
something in his life. It would ve been a shame if he hadn t.

2. What is absolutism? Explain the top three reasons for its rise in the 17th century Absolutism, where
there is a person who has full political power over a country, rose in the 17th century due to the
increase in surplus, mercantilism and the standing armies. Due to the increase in surplus in these
countries, the government had more money to spend. Mercantilism also contributed to the economic
growth of countries that adopted it. The increased money from these meant increased funding for
standing armies. The standing armies gave the king an army without needing to call on the nobles,
thereby lessening their importance and power, and heightening the king s. 3. Why is Richelieu so
important for French history? Richelieu was important for French history as he strengthened the
French monarchy through the unification of France, lessening of nobles power and boosting economic
growth. Richelieu unified France by making French the national language of France. The unification
of France made it easier for Louis XIII to achieve an Absolutist government. Richelieu minimised the

Analysis Of Noises Off
Theater was always something that I admired and wanted to get involved with, but I never did. Noises
Off is the second play I ve ever attended in my entire life. Watching this play and analyzing it has
made me gain so much respect for the people that work hard to make plays happen. In the following
sections I will discuss the general plot of the play. I will describe the characters and who they are. I
will also talk about the set, lighting, dialogue, music, and other aspects of the theater. First, let s
introduce the characters. Noises Off, is a play within a play written by Michael Frayn. The play that
the characters are rehearsing and performing is called Nothing On. There are nine characters, who all
play a significant part in conveying the story. The major roles are Dotty Otley performed by Mary
Ruth, who also plays Mrs. Clacket the housekeeper in Nothing On; Lloyd Dallas performed by Ricky
Martinez, who is the passionate and hot tempered director; Garry Lejuene performed by Brian Vigen,
who plays the real estate agent in the play; Brooke Ashton performed by Carolina Graham, who also
plays Vicki in the play; Poppy Norton Taylor performed by Olivia Hicks, who is the assistant stage
manager; Frederick Fellows performed by Rudolfo Lopez who plays the part of Philip Brent who is on
the run from the IRS and the Sheikh; Belinda Blair performed by Crystal Fiallos who plays the role of
Flavia Brent; Selsdon Mowbray performed by Mario Flores Jr. who plays the burglar; Tim Allgood

The Battle Of The Kosovo War
The first battle of the Kosovo war which was meticulously planned with stomach revolting malice was
less than a mile from my house and it resulted in the death of over 50 members of the Jashari family.
As the Serbian Army surrounded the three homes the Jashari s began to prepare for the onslaught that
was to come. Although less than 20 men had arms they valiantly defended their house, their land, and
most importantly their family from a determined and well organize Army. These men, farmers by
trade, equipped with simple Kalashnikov rifles defended their homes and lives for hours and didn t
allow for their bloodthirsty enemies to advance even one step towards their precious brothers, sisters,
mothers, and fathers. The amount of power ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We drove through the narrow dirt roads that winded through the hills. We were cautious not to run into
the Serbian Army as they would want us to head South out of the country rather than North towards
our cousin s village. We finally made it to our cousins after what seemed like a never ending trip
although we only traveled ten miles. Our cousin s village would be our home for now, it was better
than being dead but we would soon learn that death could be easier to obtain than picking an apple
from a tree. The days slowly passed and every night we would hear the roar of gun fire. My mother
would rock me to bed to the sound of those shots and the explosions in the distance. The war raged on
and people in the cities were in need of food. At the time we had plenty of food so my father Gani and
his nephew Besnik decided they would enter the city to sell some crops. Gani and Besnik loaded their
small car with apples, plums, berries, some flour, and corn. They set off for Mitrovica and planned to
take the backroads all the way there. Their plans were soon useless as they were required to get off of
the backroads. Gani and Besnik drove onto the main road that leads to Mitorvica and travelled on that
road for a little over a mile. They spotted an armored vehicle belonging to the Serbian Army and
decided to continue driving past it. Unfortunately, the vehicle turned around and began following
them. Gani had a hand grenade in the center

Why Ipv6 May Be Adopted Later Rather Than Sooner
By this report I would like to explain the reasons for why IPV6 may be adopted later rather than
sooner. This report provides an information about what is IP, brief background on next version of IP,
IPv6. A review of the differences between IPv4 and IPV6, transition to ipv6, the features and benefits
of IPv6,barriers of IPV6,what are the risks will occur while moving to IPV6 from IPV4.
(IP)Internet Protocol:
The Internet Protocol (IP) is the most broadly utilized protocol as a part of web communications
because of its consistent communication technology . such a variety of individuals are relying upon
the protocol, because of the security examinations the IP got numerous patches and modification as it
has been sent comprehensively.
The present utilizing IP forms are IPv4 and IPv6 .Due to a few limitations of IPv4, IPv6 was created
IPV4 Limitations :
The principle purpose behind IPV4 tiredness arrives are more number of web clients and this number
is expanding day by day ,obviously the cell phones which are utilizing web connections are
additionally expanding excessively .
Most of the present IPv4 usage must be configured either physically or utilizing a Dynamic Host
Configuration Protocol (DHCP). so there is a requirement for straightforward and more programmed
designs because of more PCs and devices utilizing IP.
At the Internet layer there is a prerequisite of extra security solution (IPv6 features concepts and

Southern Gothicism In William Faulkner s A Rose For Emily
A Rose For Emily During the late eighteenth century, gothicism became a popular literary genre.
Years later, William Faulkner introduced the idea of Southern gothicism, which combined elements of
Southern regionalism and gothicism. A fine example of Southern gothicism is Faulkner s short story, A
Rose For Emily. William Faulkner was born in New Albany, Mississippi, on September 25, 1897, into
a Southern family. As a child, Faulkner demonstrated exceptional artistic abilities in drawing and
poetry. However, he was considered an indifferent student compared to his classmates and peers. In
1915 he dropped out of high school to work for his grandfather and began submitting art and poetry to
the University of Mississippi yearbook. During World War 1, Faulkner was accepted into the Royal
Canadian Air Force to become a pilot, but the war ended before he could experience any combat. He
returned to his hometown to attend the University of Mississippi where his first poem, L Apres midi d
un faune was published in August 1919. Later in the year, the Mississippian published his short story
Landing in Luck.
Faulkner later returned to Oxford, where he worked as a university postmaster for some time. In 1924,
he published The Marble Farm and moved to New Orleans a year later to associate with other writers.
He later published his first notable success, Sartoris in 1929. Later that year he married his high school
sweetheart, Estelle Oldham and published what is known as his greatest work, The Sound and the
Fury, followed by A Rose for Emily in 1930. By the mid 1940 s, William Faulkner s work was well
known across the country. In 1959 Faulkner suffered serious injuries after a horse riding accident and
later died of a heart attack on July 6, 1962. Faulkner in his works used pieces of his own life and his
family s history to create stories and plots. By the time of his death, Faulkner published almost twenty
novels and, several volumes of short fiction, and two volumes of poetry (Tim).
A Rose for Emily was first published on April 30, 1930 in the issue of Forum. It was Faulkner s first
short story that was published in a major magazine. The story starts with the death of Emily Grierson.

Kayapo Way of Life
The Kayapo Indians live in the Amazon River Basin of Brazil with villages along the Xingu River.
Vanderbilt reports that their population in 2003 was 7,096. They inhabit over 28.4 million acres of the
Amazonian Rainforest. This land was received formally via land reserves from Brazil in the 1980 s
and 1990 s. The land is mostly tropical rainforest and grassland. The Kayapo live in balance with their
natural ecosystem. The indigenous people hunt, fish, and practice slash and burn agriculture.
The Kayapo way of life is ever threatened by mining, logging and the threat of Brazilian developers
who wish to build the world s 3rd largest dam (Belo Monte) along with a series of support dams.
I support the Kayapo rights to preserve their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most notable example is the Kayapo business relationship with The Body Shop. Since 1991, The
Body Shop has been buying oil processed by the Kayapo. The `Trade Not Aid project has long been
the centerpiece of The Body Shop s attempt to market itself as a socially responsible business.
Although the relationship between the Kayapo and The Body Shop has reportedly been strained, this
is an example of how the Kayapo have learned to coexist with outsiders in business.
Additionally, I support the Kayapo s efforts to stop the construction of dams in the region. According
to Amazonwatch.org the Brazilian government is moving forward at any cost with plans to build the
third largest dam in the world and one of the Amazon s most controversial development projects the
Belo Monte dam on the Xingu River in the state of Pará. Belo Monte s three reservoirs will flood 400
square kilometers of agricultural land and forest. If this project proceeds, it would all but wipe out the
Kayapo and their way of life.
Finally, the Brazilian government and the rest of the world must come to realize that the increasing
destruction of the rain forest threatens the delicate balance between humans, plants, and animals. The
Kayapo have successfully maintained this balance for thousands of years. We have an obligation to
ensure they are able to continue to maintain this balance.

Just A Normal Football Fan
Just a Normal Football Fan There is a variety of professional sports in the world today. People from all
over have come to enjoy watching athletes compete. The fans of these sports all love, cheer and
support their respected teams. Even so, there is diversity among sports fans. Sports fans usually
exhibit distinct behaviors that separate them from others. By examining the behaviors of a sports fan,
a person can categorize the different types of fans. Football fans can be classified into the following
categories, the Bandwangoners, the Agents, the Coaches, the Followers, the Teachers, and the
Opportunists. The Bandwagoners are sports fans who will pick a team and drop them in an instant. A
Bandwagoner will cling to a sports team that has recently won a big game or several in a row or even
won a championship. In fact, the person probably became a fan of the team just a couple of days ago.
The Bandwagoner claims to know most of the players on the team and their positions, when in fact he
or she usually knows on one or two of the players. These fans have all the sudden become diehard
fans of the team and support the team one hundred percent. They are so committed to the team that
once the team loses they jump ship and go looking for the next hot team that is apparently
championship bound. The Bandwagon fan is one that does not get shackled down by commitment and
is always a fan of the that is on top. The Agent, aka. the player

The Effect of Social Hierarchy in to Kill a Mockingbird
The Effect of Social Hierarchy in
To Kill A Mockingbird
Social classing systems, also known as social hierarchy have been around since the beginning of time.
In such a system those of the upper class take advantage of the classes below them; whether it is kings
and their servants or a boss and their workers. This social hierarchy has a profound effect on society
and the events in Harper Lee s novel To Kill A Mockingbird. There are four classes in Maycomb; they
are distinguished in the Tom Robinson case and in the crowd who attend his trial. Due to the social
structure of Maycomb, Tom Robinson, a black man, is unjustly accused and convicted of a crime he
does not commit.
The society of Maycomb has four definite class structures, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

There was no room at the public hitching rail for another animal, mules and wagons were parked
under every available tree. The courthouse square was covered with picnic parties sitting on
newspapers. (Lee, 160). The Ewells, Negroes and the defendant, Tom, represent the lower classes, the
trial made it clear that when a black man s word is against a white, the white, no matter the social
status, always wins. Atticus understands the fact that winning the trial is very slim to none and he
explains that you just can t give up They ve done it before and they ll keep doing it again and when
they do it seems that only children weep. (Lee, 213). Despite the man Tom is, the jury must accuse
someone of the crime and choose the easiest man to blame, Tom Robinson.
The underling prejudice and social hierarchy of Maycomb County, sentenced Tom to life in prison,
where he was shot and killed, for a crime he never committed. The class structure in Maycomb has a
massive effect on the community and its people; even though it was evident that Tom Robinson was
an innocent man, he was unjustly accused of something he did not do just to his class level; and
finally, even with a fair trial it was show that a black man will never win against a white. Although the
class system limited the chances of Tom s freedom, his trial and the trial of man other Negroes will
lead to a change in attitude and legal rights for Negros, for the rest of

The Rock, Pop And Soul Reader By David Brackett
The articles that I chose to examine from the Rock, Pop and Soul Reader by David Brackett are titled
On Wax by Paul Whiteman and Mary Margaret McBride, and What Songs the Beatles Sang by
William Mann. These articles came from different time periods in which there was a need for change
in music. The artists discussed in these articles took a chance, and experimented to create a new sound
that the audience enjoyed. Other important similarities include the specific changes made in the music,
and what made the sound more popular. Despite the similarities and differences, these articles have
also taught me much about the history of rock and roll including; the effects of change in music, and
the imagination and creativity behind it. When comparing the articles, one can determine that they are
similar. On Wax looks at the introduction of new music and technology in the 1920s that
revolutionized the music industry. However, What Songs the Beatles Sang, looks at the change in
music during the time of the British Invasion, and why the Beatles were successful. In On Wax¸ it
stated that in the 1920s, there was change of instrumentation in nearly all orchestral pieces (Whiteman
and McBride, 11). This included the addition of the tuba replacing the double basses, ordinary drums
replacing banjo, and tympani and snare replacing the regular drum. These additions created a muddy
and fuzzed up effect that listeners enjoy (Whiteman and McBride, 11). Similarly, in Musicology by

Dental Hygiene Reflection
In elementary school, one of my favorite days in grade school would be when my mom came in for
her oral hygiene lessons. Even though my mom could have easily demonstrated proper techniques on
how to brush and floss teeth with a dental model for my classes, she knew how excited I would always
get when she called on me to personally demonstrate. I would brush in confidence those tooth
surfaces, at a 45 degree angle and with small circular strokes. Promptly in the lesson, I would put the
toothbrush vertically for those inside surfaces of my front teeth. My mom would end the brushing
technique with a friendly reminder to brush for a full two minutes, twice a day. She also told the kids
to think of triangles and to floss along the mesial and distal surfaces of their teeth, rather than straight
down and cutting their gums. With every upcoming yearly demonstration, I honed that routine of
mine, ensuring to my classmates the best way to keep the plague out. Even to this day, I have still got
my middle school sketchbook in my desk drawer, where I had illustrated the cover as, Dr. Pham, DDS
. Starting in my high school summer, I had my first shot to assist my parents with what I have always
known to be as, The Office. In the day to day, I strove to follow my dad s office procedures. Imagine,
my young, impressionable self holding onto the large suction and water syringe as a patient s wisdom
were extracted; gums cut, that red blood flowing throughout the procedure. However, as I

The Philosophy Of St. Thomas Aquinas
St. Thomas Aquinas was an influential philosopher who strongly incorporated faith into his
philosophy. In his Summa Theologiae, Aquinas uses his own arguments along with those of both
Aristotle and Plato to strengthen his claims. First and foremost, Aquinas uses his own philosophy to
back the Christian faith and the existence of God. However, Aquinas also extends his argument past
the initial claim of God and Christianity, and it is here where he uses these other influential
philosophers to help support his claims and arguments. Right away in Basic Works, Aquinas jumps
straight to the biggest issue regarding religion does God exist? Immediately in his philosophical
argumentation he focuses on his faith. Regarding this question, Aquinas first explains the notion God
being self evident. Aquinas divides propositions into two categories being propositions that are self
evident in themselves but which are not known to us because we do not know what the terms of the
proposition really mean, and propositions which are self evident in themselves and known to us
because we do. Aquinas goes on to explain that the proposition that God exists is self evident in itself
because the predicate is identical with the subject and that since we don t know what God is, the
proposition is not self evident to us but rather must be demonstrated to us though what is more evident
to us (Question 2, Article 1). Aquinas goes on to explain that there are two types of demonstrations
with one

The Legal Rules Of Equity
Introduction.
Equity by its nature is a fluid subject where maxims are simply guidelines to be used or ignored at the
whim of the court and solutions to litigation sometimes aim at justice (or expedience) at the expense
of the legal rules of equity (equity will [sometimes] follow the law).
This is illustrated by the two overarching maxims where equity will not assist a volunteer and equity
will not perfect an imperfect gift when in practise there are established systems of equity which often
do assist a volunteer and under the very flexible principle of benevolent construction the courts often
do perfect an imperfect gift. This is the case even where it appears to directly contradict common law
such as that from Bridge LJ in Paul v Constance .
Into this fluid area of the law is imposed the common law in the premise of this essay from Turner LJ
in Milroy v Lord : There are three modes of making a gift and these modes are mutually exclusive (1)
An outright transfer of the legal title to the property (2) A transfer of the legal title to the property to a
trustee to hold or (3) A self declaration of trust.
This essay will look towards the cases and academic comment discussing this premise and the further
recognised areas where equity does assist a volunteer and will perfect an imperfect gift and will
conclude that it is difficult to state with any certainty that anything is mutually exclusive in equity and
trusts.
Discussion.
The overview of this discussion is that there does

Removable Prosthodontics Essay
Removable Prosthodontics Removable prosthodontics is an area that not only involves the dental
prosthesis, their function and components, but also the assessment of the patient prior to
recommending this type of treatment for a patient and whether or not they are actually a candidate for
one. The importance of understanding extraoral factors that can influence a patient choice could be; a
patient s physical health, mental health, age, dietary habits, motivational factors like esthetics,
occupation and social or economic factors. If a doctor has any concerns that the patient may have any
weaknesses or problems in any of these areas, then choosing a removable prosthetic may not be the
best treatment option for that patient. (p.885 886) There are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

(889) Making the patient part of the design process is also important to help with choosing the style of
teeth and the shades for their smile and then translating all of this onto the lab prescription just like
with the fixed prosthodontic lab prescriptions. Keeping track of the cases, date of return,
appointments, articulators, bites and models is very important until the case is completed. (889 892)
Many patients need to have many teeth removed due to excessive damage, severe periodontal issues,
severe decay, and will need to have a full denture made. Some will elect to have an immediate denture
so they will not have to go without their anterior teeth for aesthetic reasons, but will have to go
through more adjustment and reline appointments in the future. Other patients that may be candidates
for a partial denture may have only one or a few missing teeth in one arch but have overall good
health and supporting structures but maybe can t afford a bridge or implant. Again, this is another very
important chapter where educating the patient as well as being informed about your patient is so
important. This chapter also goes well with the chapter on impression materials and pouring models

However, not all traits were expressed the same, and not all traits had the same substance or background information within the stories. For starters in Version A, each character was identified by their gender, but in Version B, the character had an actual name. Version A suggests This fact did not worry the man (London 629). Nevertheless, Version A had a little twist to it because unlike Version B, the man in Version A had a dog to accompany him. The dog played a very pivotal role in this story. In Version A, you see the true fashion of Eric Link s method of Scientific Naturalism. The story shows how the man was willing to kill the dog, so that he could use the carcass to relieve his hands from the numbness. Version A stated He remembered the tale of the man, caught in a blizzard, who killed a steer and crawled inside the carcass, and so was saved (London 636). In other words, he was willing to take a life to save his own. This is naturalism at its finest because in order to live, sometimes we have to do the unthinkable. Survival of the fittest plays a crucial role in life or death situations. In addition to that, when it comes to death in naturalism; we tend to have two choices. Either you accept defeat and die or you go out swinging, and maybe just maybe you will live. In both stories, the men are about to freeze to death. However, one begins to panic and accept his demise. While the other begins to think of a solution. Version A states There were lots worse ways to die (London 638). This shows the pessimistic side of the man in Version A. This goes hand to hand with Becker s definition of naturalism. Which touches on the subjects of being hopeless. Version B states Burned hands are better than dead hands. Nitric Oxide (NO) and the Nervous System Essay Nitric Oxide (NO) and the Nervous System Better known as an environmental hazard, nitric oxide (NO) is produced in combustion engines and contributes to smog and acid rain and has been implicated in the catalytic destruction of the ozone layer (Lancaster;1992). Though NO is the bad boy of the environment, it s roles in the body are extremely diverse and in some instances can be deleterious or beneficial depending on the circumstances. NO has been connected with immune function, control of blood pressure and hypertension, impotence and penile erection, septic shock, insulin dependent diabetes mellitus, and macrophage mediated destruction of oncogenic cells (Young;1993, Stroh;1992). NO is synthesized by NOS from L arginine and molecular oxygen with the concomitant release of citrulline; NADPH and tetrahydrobiopterin are required as cofactors (Lancaster;1992). In order to understand NO s neurobiological roles, some of NO s biochemistry and physiology must be discussed. NO s radical structure, fleeting half life, and rapid diffusibility make it an ideal neurotransmitter, albeit an unconventional one. In the peripheral vascular blood supply, acetylcholine or bradykinin act on endothelial cells in the vessels which causes a release of endothelium derived relaxation factor (EDRF) which has been verified to be NO (Snyder;1992). Acetylcholine or bradykinin causes an increase in the intracellular Ca2+ concentration through the action of inositol triphosphate; the increased intracellular Ca+ binds the calmodulin site in NOS and stimulates the synthesis of NO which rapidly diffuses away from its site of synthesis to the tunica muscularis of blood vessels causing vasodilation (Murray;1993). In this manner, NO is a sort of second neurotransmitter potentiating the effects of acetylcholine or bradykinin on the muscular layer of blood vessels. In this system, NOS is located in the endothelial cells; however, in the cerebral arteries, NOS is located in the nerve plexus themselves in the outer layer of cerebral arteries, and the cell bodies of these neurons lie in the sphenopalatine ... • 21. Literary Analysis Of Dystopian Literature Textual Analysis Final DraftEven for those who do not enjoy reading, there is a genre that may peek interest. The dystopian genre is unique and offers readers both suspense and action with a balance between reality and fantasy. Dystopian literature is a genre of fictional writing used to explore social and political structures in a dark, nightmare world (Questia par 1). In order to form this nightmare world, the author must send a message of warning to readers regarding the reality of their characters, often utilizing literary devices to do so. In order to compose the dystopian atmosphere, the author may use dark images based on the their often grim tone which creates the frightening setting. Furthermore, a dystopian author may use a disturbing motif, repeating the off putting theme throughout a work of literature, or they may use personification to make political entities seem more ominous. One of the most famous dystopian novels that contains such devices is 1984 by George Orwell. It is a story set in a fascist political setting where the main character Winston Smith rebelled against the surveilling Party and ended up being detained for the purpose of brainwashing him into developing a fondness for the government. George Orwell demonstrated the dystopian genre in his novel 1984 through the use of haunting atmosphere, fear motif, and personification of Big Brother because he successfully created a horrifying political realm. The first way Orwell demonstrated the dystopian genre was by creating a dark atmosphere because it made the citizens feel constantly threatened and alone. The party was able Hargreaves 2to control the characters because they felt threatened at all times and in all places. The government being able to control every single person at any given time and space is a terrifying element of dystopian literature. One means that Orwell created in order for his characters to constantly be monitored was the telescreen, which projected and gathered information simultaneously. The citizens fearfully obeyed the Party s demands because they were psychologically manipulated by the threat of torture or death if they were caught defying them through the telescreens. A corollary is the sanctity of the church as members of Christ, both corporately and individually, (note, especially, such passages as 1 Cor. 3:16 17 and 6:15 20.) • 43. Southern Gothicism In William Faulkner s A Rose For Emily A Rose For Emily During the late eighteenth century, gothicism became a popular literary genre. Years later, William Faulkner introduced the idea of Southern gothicism, which combined elements of Southern regionalism and gothicism. A fine example of Southern gothicism is Faulkner s short story, A Rose For Emily. William Faulkner was born in New Albany, Mississippi, on September 25, 1897, into a Southern family. As a child, Faulkner demonstrated exceptional artistic abilities in drawing and poetry. However, he was considered an indifferent student compared to his classmates and peers. In 1915 he dropped out of high school to work for his grandfather and began submitting art and poetry to the University of Mississippi yearbook. During World War 1, Faulkner was accepted into the Royal Canadian Air Force to become a pilot, but the war ended before he could experience any combat. He returned to his hometown to attend the University of Mississippi where his first poem, L Apres midi d un faune was published in August 1919. Later in the year, the Mississippian published his short story Landing in Luck. Faulkner later returned to Oxford, where he worked as a university postmaster for some time. In 1924, he published The Marble Farm and moved to New Orleans a year later to associate with other writers. He later published his first notable success, Sartoris in 1929. Later that year he married his high school sweetheart, Estelle Oldham and published what is known as his greatest work, The Sound and the Fury, followed by A Rose for Emily in 1930. By the mid 1940 s, William Faulkner s work was well known across the country. In 1959 Faulkner suffered serious injuries after a horse riding accident and later died of a heart attack on July 6, 1962. Faulkner in his works used pieces of his own life and his family s history to create stories and plots. By the time of his death, Faulkner published almost twenty novels and, several volumes of short fiction, and two volumes of poetry (Tim). The Rock, Pop And Soul Reader By David Brackett The articles that I chose to examine from the Rock, Pop and Soul Reader by David Brackett are titled On Wax by Paul Whiteman and Mary Margaret McBride, and What Songs the Beatles Sang by William Mann. These articles came from different time periods in which there was a need for change in music. The artists discussed in these articles took a chance, and experimented to create a new sound that the audience enjoyed. Other important similarities include the specific changes made in the music, and what made the sound more popular. Despite the similarities and differences, these articles have also taught me much about the history of rock and roll including; the effects of change in music, and the imagination and creativity behind it. When comparing the articles, one can determine that they are similar. On Wax looks at the introduction of new music and technology in the 1920s that revolutionized the music industry. However, What Songs the Beatles Sang, looks at the change in music during the time of the British Invasion, and why the Beatles were successful. In On Wax¸ it stated that in the 1920s, there was change of instrumentation in nearly all orchestral pieces (Whiteman and McBride, 11). This included the addition of the tuba replacing the double basses, ordinary drums replacing banjo, and tympani and snare replacing the regular drum. • 49. The Philosophy Of St. Thomas Aquinas St. Thomas Aquinas was an influential philosopher who strongly incorporated faith into his philosophy. In his Summa Theologiae, Aquinas uses his own arguments along with those of both Aristotle and Plato to strengthen his claims. First and foremost, Aquinas uses his own philosophy to back the Christian faith and the existence of God. However, Aquinas also extends his argument past the initial claim of God and Christianity, and it is here where he uses these other influential philosophers to help support his claims and arguments. Right away in Basic Works, Aquinas jumps straight to the biggest issue regarding religion does God exist? Immediately in his philosophical argumentation he focuses on his faith. Regarding this question, Aquinas first explains the notion God being self evident. Aquinas divides propositions into two categories being propositions that are self evident in themselves but which are not known to us because we do not know what the terms of the proposition really mean, and propositions which are self evident in themselves and known to us because we do. Aquinas goes on to explain that the proposition that God exists is self evident in itself because the predicate is identical with the subject and that since we don t know what God is, the proposition is not self evident to us but rather must be demonstrated to us though what is more evident to us (Question 2, Article 1). Equity by its nature is a fluid subject where maxims are simply guidelines to be used or ignored at the whim of the court and solutions to litigation sometimes aim at justice (or expedience) at the expense of the legal rules of equity (equity will [sometimes] follow the law). This is illustrated by the two overarching maxims where equity will not assist a volunteer and equity will not perfect an imperfect gift when in practise there are established systems of equity which often do assist a volunteer and under the very flexible principle of benevolent construction the courts often do perfect an imperfect gift. This is the case even where it appears to directly contradict common law such as that from Bridge LJ in Paul v Constance . Into this fluid area of the law is imposed the common law in the premise of this essay from Turner LJ in Milroy v Lord : There are three modes of making a gift and these modes are mutually exclusive (1) An outright transfer of the legal title to the property (2) A transfer of the legal title to the property to a trustee to hold or (3) A self declaration of trust. This essay will look towards the cases and academic comment discussing this premise and the further recognised areas where equity does assist a volunteer and will perfect an imperfect gift and will conclude that it is difficult to state with any certainty that anything is mutually exclusive in equity and trusts.
