Working Title:
Tech Circuit
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Audience:
My primary target audience is going to be males from the age of 18 to 24 as this is an age where a
lot of people start to care more about what they choose as a phone because at this age they are
able to buy their own phones and contracts so it is something that will probably intrigue them. I
think that my magazine will appeal to the A to C2 as these classes will be able to afford the more
expensive phones that I will be talking about in my magazine, the magazine will also appeal to the
D to E but it will appeal to them less. I think that the type of person that it will appeal to is the
Aspirer and the Mainstream as these are two groups of people who will want the latest technology
and will want to be perceived by people as better than them, they want to be seen as better than
the “normal” person. My product will appeal to these people as it will help them decide what will
make them seem the best to everyone else. My secondary target audience females from the age
of 18 to 24, I will also put my secondary target audience in the A to C2 bracket as these are the
people who earn a good to very good wage so they have the money to purchase the latest phone
if it is available. I think that my secondary target audience will fall into the same psychographic
group as my target audiences are very similar to each other, the main things that separate my
target audiences are gender.
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc. Use the
Audience Classifications PowerPoint on Blackboard to help you develop this section.
Why would your project appeal to this person? Discuss each audience element in relation to
content (why would your product appeal to the age group? Why would your product appeal to the
gender? Etc.)
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
Throughout this year I have been learning to use applications such as Photoshop, InDesign,
Premiere and After Effects, I already had some experience with Photoshop and InDesign so really
I was re-learning the software and learning more techniques in detail so that I can do the
techniques better and hopefully improve on my practical work as my practical work gets better and
better. I can then use some techniques together to make an even better product. I have studied
how to manipulate text, how to format text around images, and I also kind of know how to layout a
magazine semi-well but not the greatest. I think that my Irn-Bru project, my video game and print
project have helped me with learning how to use the Adobe Suite of software and how to use it
effectively.
Review your progress throughout the year- what skills and knowledge have you acquired?
How has the subjects you have studied this year informed your choice for this project?
What have you studied and how will it have a direct impact upon your project?
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
My project concept is a technology magazine where I can help people decide between different
pieces of technology that people might be interested in purchasing the tech but they are unsure on
which one to buy. I came to this idea because as a person I person I can be very undecided on
technology as there are so many good options to choose from but the differences can be very
subtle. I will look at other technology magazines to get an idea on how to talk about products and
be unbiased to some brands. I will also learn how to format the comparison of the different
devices. The research that I will do will help me to make a very good final product and it will help
with the experiments and the development of my product. I think that I will also make a website for
my magazine and I may look at creating a clothing line to go along with the website, I am also
thinking of doing an advertisement campaign for my magazine.
What is the concept for your project and what are you going to make?
What research will you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project

Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
To evaluate my magazine and other work I will compare it to other professional pieces of work in
the similar field, this will allow me to compare my work to a professionals work and then I will know
whether or not the work that I have done is good. I will also go back over all of the production
evaluations that I have done over the multiple weeks that I will be doing the project.
How do you plan to evaluate the work? Reference conducting on-going evaluation and your final
self-reflection, analysing your work and its outcomes.
