Essay about Hold Up Problem
FISHER GENERAL MOTORS AND THE NATURE OF THE FIRM* BENJAMIN KLEIN
University of California, Los Angeles Abstract After working well for more than 5 years, the Fisher
Body General Motors (GM) contract for the supply of automobile bodies broke down when GM s
demand for Fisher s bodies unexpectedly increased dramatically. This pushed the imperfect
contractual arrangement between the parties outside the self enforcing range and led Fisher to take
advantage of the fact that GM was contractually obligated to purchase bodies on a cost plus basis.
Fisher increased its short term profit by failing to make the investments required by GM in a plant
located near GM production facilities in Flint, Michigan. Vertical integration, with an associated ...

Fisher then refused to make the necessary capital investments required to produce bodies efficiently
for GM, in particular refusing to build an important body plant close to a GM production facility in
Flint, Michigan. These contractual difficulties were the primary reason GM decided in 1926 to
vertically integrate with Fisher Body. The marked change in Fisher s behavior between the early 1919
24 period and the later 1925 26 period provides important insights into the basic economic forces at
work in contractual arrangements. Similar to a biologist 3 Surveys of these studies are provided in

Jeeps-A way of Life Since 1941
The very first Jeep was created in 1941. This Jeep was known as the Military Bantam AKA the MB
Jeep. The United States Department of War needed a new light, cross country, reconnaissance vehicle.
Therefore an American automobile company called Willy s Overland and Motors created the Army s
new vehicle. This vehicle was a 2.2L engine, 4 wheel drive, 2 door, with a 3 speed manual
transmission Jeep. The Willy s Jeep another name for the MB was also a ¼ ton vehicle that was the
top of the line military technology. Jeeps were essential to transportation of military soldiers and
equipment to designated spots. With this amazing help of the Jeep, the army was getting to its peak in
World War II. Jeeps grabbed my attention and interest because not only do I own one, but I believe the
iconic history of Jeeps is amazing. It amazes me that this small vehicle can have such a huge impact
on history as becoming the World War II Vehicle . Jeeps have inspired other similar light utility
vehicles and are the oldest off road vehicle ever made. Jeeps also have a huge impact on today s
modern society. Jeeps bring society together. Jeep people have a slang term for themselves called
Jeepers . Within today s society there are Jeep Clubs. The aftermath of the Military Bantam Jeep, the
Civilian Jeep, was another start to the legacy of Jeeps. In 1944 the CJ was brought to life with in the
Jeep world. Along with all of its other brothers in the military this was the first Jeep to be used in

My Moment In The Moment Essay
It was august 4 3:47pm just 5 minutes before my arm would crack. My neighbor and I were upstairs in
my room when she said I m bored let s go outside. After 2 minutes we left my room and went into the
hall. I slipped my shoes on half way and thought, once i m in the living room I will put them on
completely. The railing of the stairs measured, right by my waist, so I locked my arms. I had just
started to go to the third step when my right leg slipped and I fell, landing seated. My sight turned dark
as if I had been staring at the sun and white snow. For some reason I thought I had made the railing
fall of the wall. I thought this because heard and felt something fall on me. I started searching for my
left arm with a blurry vision. I couldn t find it until I noticed it was hanging in between my legs. I
picked it up and I felt the bone move in my arm. I called my mom and said Mom I broke my arm! She
started helping me and I kept on saying don t let my arm go! and It keeps cracking . My dad took me
to the hospital in Hampton while my mom called my aunt and asked her if she could interpret. When
we got there I sat in a gray wheelchair and got x rays. After a couple of minutes the doctor came in and
asked if he could talk to my dad. My aunt went with him to interpret. A nurse came in and injected
some medicine in my hand for the pain. But while she injected the back of my hand, I heard the doctor
say in the room next door, It s either a cyst or cancer. I tried not

A study by Spocter and Hopkins examined comprehensive comparative analysis the distribution of
neuropil across the areas of the neocortex of humans and our closest living relatives, chimpanzees.
According to the research article, meaning of the neuropil is an area in the nervous system composed
of unmyelinated axons, dendrites, and glial cell processes that form a synaptically dense region. The
researchers purpose of this study was analysis the neuropil fractional connectivity with both
hemispheres in six cytoarchitecture regions using image analysis techniques which they are
frontopolar cortex (area 10), Broca s area (area 45), frontoinsular cortex (area f1), primary motor
cortex (area 4), primary auditory cortex (area 41/42) and planum temporale (area 22). Based on the
results, the researchers compared the distributions of the neuropil in the neocortex to chimpanzees.
Therefore, the clinical meaning of this research to find significant modification within the studied
regions that accompanied the evolution of the human brain. For this research, the study group
contained 12 brain chimpanzees, 6 females (mean age 37.8) and 6 males (mean age 29.3) that had died
of natural causes. Related to this sample size, researchers also analyzed the 12 normal human subjects,

China s Rise Of Power
China s Rise to Power
In the past decade, China has proven their potential to be peaceful in their rise to power. The United
States was acknowledged as one of the leading world powers in the late 19th century, following the
Cold War. This power came to be as a result of significant domestic industrialization and widespread
international influence. However, China s case is a bit more complex. It s rise to power was marked by
the Communist Party s completion of its sixth 5 year plan in 1982. Despite the country s rapid
development, much corruption and violence had occurred in its beginning years. Still, China will
likely not repeat the same mistakes and will avoid international conflict in its advancement. This can
be predicted by examining the country s current economic growth, stable relationships with trading
partners, and their keen focus on keeping citizens satisfied with the government.
The Chinese Communist revolution, beginning in 1949, signified the start of the country s desire for
social, political, and economic change. Mao Zedong, founder of the People s Republic of China, grew
up in poverty and aimed to dismantle a system of inequality and oppression. His platform was enticing
and quickly supported by many. Still, this revolution was not a peaceful one. His Red Army
successfully defeated both the US Army and the Japanese. As a result, China was reunified as a
sovereign state. However, this seems to be the height of Mao Zedong s positive influence. His so

Machiavelli s View Of Human Nature
All the states, all the dominions, under whose authority men have lived in the past
and live now have been and are either republics or principalities. In Machiavelli s, The
Prince, timeless keys to a successful principality are examined. The keys are understanding
human nature, respecting that nature, and reaffirming that successful leadership can exist
in the same fashion yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Machiavelli s perspective of human nature is founded on the principle that people
in general don t want their culture changed by an outside influence. Machiavelli
demonstrates in the book that the nature of people is to defend who they are. When the
prince attempts to change their culture in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Only through an understanding of the nature of his subjects, having an ability to
control his subjects, and possessing the means to defend his subjects can the prince truly
find the universal key to open the door to upholding the ideals of practical leadership.
When a prince understands the nature of the people it is easier for him to enter the land.
Machiavelli writes of the Romans and how they developed their empire, the Aetolians
once brought the Romans into Greece; and in every other country they invaded, the
Romans were brought in by the inhabitants. Because the Romans understood human
nature their movement into power was unchallenged. Once in power it is essential for the
prince to be able to control the people. I say that a prince must want to have a reputation
for compassion rather than cruelty: none the less, he must be careful that he does not
make bad use of compassion. When Machiavelli wrote this he was outlining the key to
controlling the people. The prince needs to be able to keep the people united, and loyal to
him and at the same time ensure respect for the laws by instilling a fear for punishment.
One of Machiavelli s most used examples of a successful prince is Cesare Borgia. It is
essential to be feared not hated and in the case of Borgia his minister Remirro de Orco
punished law breakers in a cruel fashion that led to people hating Borgia. To create a

Hershey Company produces the best chocolate according to a survey taken among my coworkers.
This company is well known for their Hershey s Kisses, Kit Kat, Whopper s, Reese s Peanut Butter
Cups and much more! Personally Kit Kat is my favorite. Hershey s is one chocolate that I can eat and
it changes my whole mood. Their mission statement is, Bringing sweet moments of Hershey
happiness to the world every day. 1 Hershey s focuses on love, and not only chocolate. History of the
Company 1894 is when it all started. This is when Milton Hershey had just established the company.
He was producing sweet chocolate as a coating for his caramels. 1894 was a great year for him
because this is also when he started developing his own formula for milk chocolate. In 1907, the
company began producing individually hand wrapped conical milk chocolate candies named Hershey

Company was purchased by the Hershey Chocolate Corporation. In Between the years of 1925 and

Lincoln Racist Dbq
Racism is the belief of superiority of a certain race which often leads to discrimination towards other
people. Lincoln was a racist because of his ideology. According to Document B, Lincoln was in favor
of the race to which I belong, having the superior position . Since Lincoln believed that he, the white
race, was better and superior to the Negroes, this proves that he is racist because of his ideology. In
addition, Lincoln was a racist because of his words. In Document C and D, Lincoln called the Negroes
heathism , barbarian , creatures . By using such demeaning and dehumanizing words, Lincoln puts
down the Negroes, which establishes himself as the better race. However, some may argue that
Lincoln was not a racist. In Document A, Lincoln believed that the Negro was born his equal and that
no human law can deprive him of these rights . By thinking that he is equal to Negroes, it
demonstrates that he does not think lowly of them. Although Lincoln stated that the Negro is his equal,
it does not hide the fact that he believes that the white race is more superior and the words he uses to
describe the Negroes.Historical figures should not be judged by today s moral standards because their
actions back then might have been different if they were here in present day. Instead, they should be
judged by the standards of their time. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Infamous Civil War Prison Andersonville Essay
The Infamous Civil War Prison Andersonville
The Confederacy established Andersonville, that most infamous of Civil War prisons, in late February,
1864. It built a stockade in west central Georgia to accommodate approximately 10,000 prisoners of
war. As the fighting moved ever deeper into the South in the last year of the war, the expanded
stockade at one point held nearly 33,000 Union soldiers. The termination by the North of the prisoner
of war exchanges which had existed previously and the continually depleting resources of the
Confederacy left these prisoners stranded in miserable conditions.
By the end of the war, 13,000 of the total 45,000 prisoners had died. They were buried in shallow
trench graves with numbers to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The entire regiment, except for one group on scout was captured at Union City, Tennessee on March
24, 1864 by a detachment of Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest s regiment under the command of Col.
William L. Duckworth. The captured men were mainly from Carroll, Henderson and McNairy
Counties with some recruits from Henry, Weakley, Benton, Madison, Gibson, Hardin, and Decatur
counties. These men suffered horribly during the time they were prisoners. Two thirds of them died
within a year of the capture. Their high mortality rate can be attibuted both to the prison to which they
were sent and to the actions of their captors.
One group within the captors of the 7th Tennessee Cavalry USA was the 7th Tennessee Cavalry CSA.
Both groups were primarily West Tennesseans and there was intense ill feeling between them. Some
men were neighbors and personally knew each other. For the 7th Tennessee USA, the humiliation was
almost total. Colonel Duckworth tricked them into surrender when help was nearby. And, it was the
second time that Forrest s men had forced them to surrender. The first time at Trenton in December,
1862, they had been paroled and had spent their time at Camp Chase, Ohio. Some members of the
regiment, who were captured at Ripley and Mt. Pinson, Tennesse, had even spent a short time in
Richmond, Virginia in 1863 before being parolled once again. By March 1864, however, the Lincoln
government had stopped the exchanges. This time there

Economic Integration
An economic integration, established on global, continental or regional level, is not a newborn
phenomenon. Ever since the voyages of Marco Polo in 1260, (Latham, 1958) the collaboration and
integration of world economies through trade, movements of factors of production and transmission of
economically effective knowledge and technology has been continuously increasing. (Masson, 2000)
The overall process of globalisation and economic integration has been in most cases globally
beneficial, but alongside winners it had also created losers, and the progression of economic
integration has neither always advanced smoothly nor has it been advantageous to all whom it had

(Dearden McDonald, 2005) Suranovic emphasizes the importance of effectiveness of communication
between all integrated countries and also focuses his attention on the coordination of their trade, fiscal
and monetary policies. (Suranovic, 1998)
Tinbergen in his International Economic Integration recognized two integrational dimensions and
identified them as negative and positive. Negative integration, generally less complicated to reach than
the positive, eradicates the measures used by states to obstruct the free flow of economic resources
between integrated countries, while the positive integration involves alteration of already existing
economic and political instruments and permits international markets to operate more effectively.
(Tinbergen, 1965) Example of implementation of the negative dimension could be found in the early
stages of the European Union, which, by employing the positive approach, reached the higher levels
of the economic integration. (Banchoff Smith, 1999) It is very seldom that countries involved in the
process of integration actually follow a certain pattern, (Holden, 2003) however, there are several

Progressives And The Progressive Era
The progressive Era was times in History were local state and federal government took a leap forward
in power and activism. In addition, the progressive era, was a time of development of new reforms and
changes for America. Progressivism handles a wide range of problems and struggle for America. Such
problems were created by unstructed industrialization, urbanization and immigration. As well as, the
unfavorable distribution of power and wealth. Progressives believed strongly that problems such as
these needed immediate action. Progressives existed in churches, organized labor, local political life,
organizations and progressives of high education. Progressives wanted to make America better
through inniatives, arranged action, idealism and social scientific research. Progressive had a tendency
to expect the best possible outcome of situations. By, the 1920 s, progressives put in effect, changes of
all aspects of society and government. Nevertheless, progressives had unhonorable qualities as well.
They were biased of class and prejudiced against races. The eventual goals of the progressive
movement was a better democracy, uncorrupt and improved working government ,regulations in
business and social justice for the working class. Progressives believed the governmenrt s involment
in society could make an impact of reaching those goals. Progressives also had a tendency to maintain

The Complex Processes Of Urban Development
The complex processes of urbanisation overarches and entails a set of social, cultural, economic,
political, environmental and technological functions that result in sprawl and densities, proportional to
core size and settlement. Further implicating the extensive use of natural resources from fringes and
rural spheres within city limits to be consumed and then later in turn converted into waste. Urban
ecosystems are therefore, complex multifaceted systems that require a burdensome amount of natural
resources input and negotiations for their adequate development. In urban discourse, the lack of
interdisciplinary and trans disciplinary interest partly due to an absence of tools to which all
disciplines can use to further incorporate ecological theories to assessment and planning of urban
centers. All these connections have been made and academics have divided the complex concept into
biophysical processes and socioeconomic processes when examining cities in case studies. The urban
ecology theory and a closely related concept of urban metabolism can explain the technical aspects of
urban density and growth but human influences are not accounted for in the assessment. However,
human scholarship is a key component that shapes the metabolic processes in urban ecologies and in
turn alters the initial footprint.
By examining the historical context of urban ecology, the early stages and latter results of the urban
ecology theory being transformed from a multidisciplinary concept into

Evolution of Hamlet s Emotional Suffering
Since the tense conclusion of the 2016 presidential election, many people have felt a tremendous
amount grief surrounding the results. For much of America, this grief has completely changed the way
people live their lives. According to an article by the LA Times [source needed], 35% of the workforce
today feels more stressed at work due to politics. Following the election, countless people began
creating scapegoats to blame for their loss. In some extreme circumstances, the results triggered
depression and almost a political sickness for some people. Furthermore, they directed their rage at the
world and then began to focus that anger on people such as their neighbors, co workers, and
politicians. This atmosphere of taking sides has created an exceptional rift in the fabric of American
society. However, very few have voiced opinions about how their current situation could have been a
result of their prior actions, and many people are still pointing fingers rather than directing their
passion towards finding a constructive solution to their problems. Similarly, in Shakespeare s play
Hamlet, the protagonist experiences a process of condemnation following his father s death. Between
his first and second soliloquy, Hamlet s method of coping with grief transitions from projecting his
animosity outwards at those around him to then directing it inwards with intense self loathing,

Safety Enforcement By Police And The Fire Department Essay
There are two images. Imagine you are walking down the sidewalk next to your home, and you see a
small boy riding a bike. The child accidentally hits a curb with the bike, and falls over, scraping his
head on the concrete. You see a nasty gash, and quickly help the boy stop the bleeding while
determining if it is a life threatening injury. Depending on what you find, you might call for an
ambulance, or if it is not threatening, you might just walk the boy back to his home and help him back
to his parents. In either case, you have demonstrated social responsibility. However, there is another
image. Imagine you are busy filing papers in your office. You happen to glance at your phone and see
a notification from your news source reporting a wildfire outbreak about 50 miles away. In this case,
all you can do is remain updated as to what is happening, and be vigilant to obey safety enforcement
by police and the fire department. That is the normal apex of an individual s social responsibility in
such a circumstance. On the other hand, professional privilege has a significant role in this, especially
in the context of public relations. It is the expectation of public relations and media sources to report
the happenings with accuracy and promptness. By looking more closely at professional privilege and
social responsibility in context of public relations, one should be able to gain a better understanding as

Using the completed decision flowchart I was able to evaluate whether upgrading or replacing the

question of whether the system even needed to be upgraded or replaced at all. We know that the

If we follow the flow chart through the path of choosing to completely replace the system, will the
replacement system have all the features that we require? We were able to research and select three
new ERP systems to send request for proposals (RFP) for. These new ERP systems are based on
modern technology, are GUI based, and have mouse support. There are additional functionalities and
integrations with these new platforms that the IT team feels the business would greatly benefit from.
Next, we need to determine if the new software will work with the current hardware in place, but it
does not due to the age of the current hardware. I advised that this would be a great time to start the
virtualization project and we can use the new ERP system as the test bed. If we choose not to merge
with the virtualization project to take advantage of the hardware, then we will need to establish costs
for the new hardware and if this will fit into the current budget. We will then need to decide if the
users will require extensive training for the new replacement software. Because this is brand new
software utilizing a GUI, the users will need training. As such, we will have to research what type of
training the company offers and the associated costs. Next we have to work out if the training for this
new software fits into the budget in addition to the hardware.

In this SA, we will study translocation of DNA damage repair proteins from the cytoplasm to
mitochondria in response to mtDNA damage induced by mt OX in A549 cells. We will treat A549
cells with mt OX as mentioned in SA#...., followed by using a SILAC method as described above. We
will perform differential ultracentrifugation to isolate cellular fractions as previously described (18).
The purity of cytoplasmic and mitochondrial fractions will be assessed by western blotting using IκB

Physics of Electric Guitars Essay
Introduction
More than any other instrument, the electric guitar has shaped and redefined music in the last century.
Although popular culture did not pay much attention to it when it was first introduced in the 1930s, it
has since become equated with the very essence of rock and roll music. On an international level, the
electric guitar is by far the most famous instrument to come out of the United States
(howstuffworks.com).
Background
Inventors have been playing with the idea of electrically powered musical instruments since the 1800s,
but the first attempts at an amplified instrument did not come until the development of electrical
amplification by the radio industry in the 1920s.

* The vibrations of the strings can be quantified and calculated according to basic laws in physics.
These include certain relationships between velocity, wavelength, and frequency and equations that
describe the motion of a string fixed at both ends.
How Pick Ups Work:
Electric guitar pick ups work by employing principles of magnetic induction. The pick ups are
composed of small electromagnets (magnets that are wrapped with a coil of wire, thus allowing an
electric current to flow through them). Because of their close proximity to the strings, these magnets
induce a north and south pole on the strings. When the string is played, it begins to oscillate, or move
in a wave like fashion. This affects the field surrounding the pick up and causes a change in the
magnetic field. These changes, or fluctuations in the magnetic field are transmitted through the wires
connecting the pick up(s) to the output jack and are thus relayed to the amplifier where they are sent to
the speaker and converted from electrical energy once again into motion energy (sound). (Brain, n.p.)
Electromagnets can turn electrical energy into motion. Likewise the converse is true: they can turn
motion into electrical energy.
Such is the case with electric guitar pick ups.
Waves on a String:
A guitar string is an example of a string fixed at both ends which is elastic and can vibrate.

Essay on America’s New Look as an Urban Nation
America s New Look as an Urban Nation
When the United States was founded as a nation after the Revolutionary War it was largely agrarian in
nature. Even when people lived in the village, that town was made up fewer that ten houses on
average and only occasionally had other buildings such as a school, church, or small store. The people
lived together for protection, and traveled out to their farm land everyday to till, plant and harvest.
With the advent of the industrial revolution staring in the early part of the nineteenth century and then
even more so with the information revolution of the 1960 s onward people began moving away from
the country and into the city because that was where they worked. There were enough farms to support

Two other problems with an urban society were; gathering enough drinking water for the increasing
populous and disposing of waste. When Europe started to urbanize, they did not realize the need for
the latter and they had plagues that swept through their filthy cities. When they had learned the lesson
and provided adequate sewage disposal. Transportation of goods could come into a city and be
distributed to building sites. Therefore, railways and roadbeds that could handle the traffic were
needed. Also, people who live closer together tend to be increasingly lawless. To maintain order, a
police force had to be maintained. This public service was accompanied by the need for a fire
department and public utility workers that were not as needed in the country.
When people move into a city there is going to be a division of labor that will eventually evolve into a
class structure. In the United States the Constitution was set up in Europe and other places around the
world. However, there will always be the gentried business owners, the middle class merchants, the
lower class factory workers and the poor. These four distinct groups seem to form due to natural
causes. It becomes class when it is difficult to move between the economic levels. In the United
States, people were able to move between the different classes if they chose, but it continued to be a
difficult change. The classes in the US were not developed

Argumentative Essay About Kobe Bryant
As it stands today, Kobe Bryant is the best basketball player to have ever played the game. Some
argue that Michael Jordan was better, but he was not. Some argue that Lebron James is better, but he is
not. To compare him to the men who played the center position is a waste of time. Obviously
Shaquille O Neal, Wilt Chamberlain, and Kareem Abdul Jabbar were more dominant. They were
freaks of nature. What Kobe had that set him apart from everyone else was a skill set and mentality
that is unmatched. Kobe is the best player first and foremost because he was a Los Angeles Laker for
twenty years. Some may say that my bias towards Kobe as a Laker fan discredits my argument, but it
does not. First, a list of his accomplishments. Kobe was drafted out of highschool at the age of
seventeen, broke into the league by winning the Slam Dunk contest in his rookie season, and by age of
twenty five he was a three time world champion. He was the youngest person to be named a NBAAll
Star at the age of nineteen. The combination of his talents with the talents of Shaquille O Neal was the
greatest one two punch of all time. That is an objective fact. Shaq himself has even admitted that had
the duo stayed together after the 2004 season, they most certainly would have gone on to win
additional world championships, but Kobe didn t need Shaq. When it was all said and done, Kobe
ended up with five rings to his name to O Neals four all five with the Lakers I might add. I won t lie,

Analysis Of In Praise Of The Urban Sandbox
In the article In Praise of the Urban Sandbox, Ferzoco (2011) explored simulation games like Sim City
and considered the eventual possibility of these games being used in more meaningful ways. Through
the article, the author focused on many meaningful points about gaming that did not simply highlight
the game s use as entertainment, but also went beyond these elements to explore these simulations
unique features and future potentials. Although Ferzoco s article was very impressive in exploring
these things, there were many points that he did not analyze in great enough depth or did not consider
at all. One of the interesting things that the author synthesized in writing this piece was in relation to
his own approach to the games. He indicated, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It would be much easier for game designers to develop true to life depictions of New York City streets
and work hand in hand with city officials to identify logistical challenges that the city is currently or
may face in the future. These games would then be a way for the game designers to collectively pool
the creative thinking of the thousands of people who play these games to address these pressing
infrastructure challenges. Ferzoco (2011) indicated that, Many of today s simulations are directly
inspired by the interactivity of mass market games (p. 11). Such a point would seem to mean that
although the potential exists for game designers to create more realistic simulations, since the current
types of games produced are based on what is popular in the gaming environment, that is what gamers
will tend to produce in the future. Even of this insight is true, this should not stop organizations and
designers from taking the time and effort to explore more socially responsible gaming

Dinitrogen Research Paper
A catalytic route to ammonia from dinitrogen has been one of the most intensively researched areas of
chemistry in the last 50 years. Nitrogen gas constitutes 78% of Earth s atmosphere, and is easily
accessed through the fractional distillation of air. Despite this enormous potential for use as a chemical
feedstock to synthesize ammonia, the inert nature of elemental nitrogen makes it extremely difficult
for most practical purposes. Currently, ammonia is synthesized via the Haber Bosch process, which
uses nitrogen, hydrogen, and an iron catalyst at an excess of 200 °C and 300 atm. The enormous
energy demands of this process consume approximately 2% of the world s annual energy supply.
Despite this high cost, the Haber Bosch process has been invaluable as a chemical process over the
last century because it has solely allowed the agricultural industry to keep up with the rising food
demand of the modern world by enabling the large scale production of nitrogen based fertilizers. Still,
a more efficient route to ammonia would remove a huge burden from the worlds energy supply.

you fishers of men Matthew 4:19 . The next verse show them immediately dropping their nets and

ISO 9001 is built upon 8 fundamental principles of Quality Management which include a few of its
many requirements.
1. Customer focus
2. Leadership
3. Involvement of people
4. Process approach
5. Systems approach to management
6. Continual improvement
7. Factual approach to decision making
8. Mutually beneficial supplier relationships
Customer focus
Customer focus is a great way of expanding and making your business or organisation successful. It s
absolutely crucial that you understand what your customer wants, what they need and how you can
meet their requirements to the best of your ability.
Leadership
This second principle relates to leadership and where the business or organisation is heading. The
company should have clear goals and its employees should be very keen on achieving this.
Involvement of people
Involvement of people is one of the best ways in achieving quality. This is done by involving people
who have a different set of skills and levels in the organisation or business. This will enable the
company to deal with much more customers who have specific requirements.

Psychological Effects Of Complex Traum Making A Case For...
Rachael Wandrey COURSE ASSIGNMENT DATE Treating the Psychological Effects of Complex
Trauma: Making a Case for Narrative Exposure Therapy Defining Complex Trauma Complex trauma
is a term that was established to differentiate traumas that occur repeatedly from traumas that happen
in only one instance (herein referred to as simple trauma ; Coutois, 2008). For instance, complex
trauma is typically referred to in the context of abusive childhoods wherein the child experiences
repeated traumatic events (e.g., physical or sexual abuse) over the course of their childhood. Often the
trauma will occur in parent child relationships leaving the victim under the control of the perpetrator
(Herman, 1992). However, complex trauma is not limited to family violence, but can include other
prolonged traumatic experiences, such as concentration camps and torture (Williams, 2006). Some
researchers have argued that victims of complex trauma experience different psychological challenges
than those who are victimized in one isolated incident (e.g., armed robbery). Coutois (2008)
delineated seven problem areas that she believes are related to repeated early interpersonal trauma
(i.e., complex trauma): 1) alterations in the regulation of affective impulses, 2) alterations in attention
and consciousness, 3) alterations in self perception, 4) alterations in perception of the perpetrator, 5)
alterations in relationships to others, 6) somatization and/or medical problems, 7) alterations in

When Muslims immigrate to the US, they are faced with the constant stares of onlookers who are
confused of what they are, where they come from, and when are they leaving. As you can tell,
Americans have always seen Muslims as the other , but tensions intensified after the 9/11 attacks. The
9/11 attacks brought Muslim culture to the forefront. Many people started performing hate crimes
against Muslims and Islamic nations. The American government has sanctioned surveillance and
investigations into Islamic nations in order to prevent another 9/11 attack. The government has
perpetuated this hatred towards Muslims on the basis that since all terrorists are Muslims, all Muslims
must be terrorists. Furthermore, Americans have this idea that Muslims should apologize for the 9/11
attacks. The entire Muslim culture was not responsible for 9/11. Although it seems to be easy to point
the finger at one group of people, it becomes difficult when you are blaming a group of people on one
person s actions. If Americans expect an apology for Muslims, all whites should be prepared to
apologize to blacks for slavery. The apology concept is complete ludicrous. If you believe that all
Muslims are terrorists, this judgment makes the statement that all blacks are criminals true. If either
one are true, how do we explain Barack Obama and Farah Pandith. In addition, airport customs have
used the 9/11 attacks as an excuse for random security checks of Muslims. This promotes an almost

future and receive a lesson from it. Perspective is very important in this novel. How it is interpreted is
dependent upon who is reading it. There is not a single meaning to this novel but many. As a child,
Penelope s father had attempted to drown her but she was saved by ducks and was ultimately
nicknamed Duck by her family. Afterwards, her father became overly affectionate towards her
seemingly out of guilt. Her mother was very absent minded and not consistently proactive in her life.
Many people have had issues from or in their childhood. Many have also had traumatic experiences as
a child and understanding why these things happened is rare and this often permanently affects lives.
Penelope was described as intelligent instead of beautiful while her cousin, Helen, was

Literary Analysis Of Plot In The Memory Keeper s Daughter
Section 1: Demonstrate understanding of the literary techniques employed by the author in the
selection.
Plot
Dr. Henry and Norah were expecting a baby boy, and when Norah went into labor; she found out that
her baby boy was healthy, but she also had a baby girl that had a heart defect. After the twins were
born, she didn t remember having the twins. Dr. Henry told his wife that was barely awake, that their
daughter had died, but what Norah didn t know is that her daughter was alive with an illness, and Dr.
Henry didn t want to put up with that. Their daughter, Phoebe was taken care of by Caroline, the
nurse. Caroline was supposed to take Phoebe to an institution but decided to raise her on her own.
David found out that Caroline wasn t taken to the institution, and told her to do the right thing.
Caroline left Pittsburgh with Phoebe for a fresh start. At the end, they reunited with Phoebe and
Caroline and Norah remarried in the final few pages of The Memory Keeper s Daughter. David went
through the down syndrome thing with his sister, June, that s why he gave Phoebe up.
Structure/Form
Chapters go back and forth between David and Norah, and the family of Caroline and Phoebe. The
book covers 25 years in 400 pages. The structure was an unnatural gulf between David and Norah, and
their missing family member (Phoebe). The fragmented structure represents the fragmented nature of
their lives, and to keep things fast paced. The story forms as the lives of these characters change

Compare And Contrast A Noiseless Patient Spider
A Noiseless Patient Spider , by Walt Whitman, and The Snow Man , by Wallace Stevens are two
poems that contrast well with each other, while still sharing some similarities. The two poems take
place in nature, and are about the observations of the surrounding area, with Whitman s poem being
more focused on a creature, a spider to be specific. Steven s poem focused more on the area itself.
They are both rather philosophical in nature, with Whitman s talking about soul and Steven s seems to
be about a lack of soul. The two poems contrast in the tone with Whitman s being more optimistic and
lighter, and Steven s being darker in contrast. The comparison will be of the two poem s tone, and
motivation.
The tone of the two poems are rather stark in their differences. Whitman s poem, is more optimistic,
and this can be seen here, Ceaselessly musing, venturing, throwing, seeking the spheres to connect
them (8 9). This excerpt is about the spider and the soul; it is describing the nature of both. The words
themselves have lighter, happier connotations to them, as musing is used to describe the act of
thinking, and that is a positive thing. The excerpt goes on to describe the soul and spider (which are
one in the same in the poem) as something seeking adventure, or at least willing to go searching for
something, another attribute that is positive. In general, the poem is observing the spider and what it is
doing, with some commentary on the nature of the soul. This is somewhat

Romanov Dynasty Case Study
There are many reasons behind the decline and fall of the Romanov Dynasty but I believe these are
the five main reasons why it occurred. The first two reasons are the socio economic struggle faced by
the Russian working class and the disappointment among Russian troops, which can be related to as
factors of the First World War. Secondly, another two reasons are the effects of failed reforms and the
role of the Siberian freak Rasputin, which can be categorised as reasons, linked to Nicholas II s
leadership. Finally, the last main reason is the mass scale and organisation of protests.
I believe that the First World War is the most significant factor in the decline and fall of the Romanov
dynasty, but in this case you could argue that either Nicholas ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

One massive event that occurred in 1905 was Bloody Sunday. This was a devastating event, which
occurred in Russia due to innocent people wanting justice and protection. The people wanted to reduce
the working day to eight hours. They also wanted the employers and administrators to provide medical
care in the workplace. Over these few days of protesting 1000 people were trampled on to death.
Moreover, the 1917 revolution led to Nicholas abdication. One of the main reasons for Nicholas
abdication was due to the mass amount of workers rights protests in February 1917. They grew so big
because of a series of uncoordinated strikes in the capital that immediately attacked the government
over food shortages, which gave more people a reason to protest. By 25th February 1917 over 200,000
people had protested on Petrograd streets. In 1905 protestors were divided, but in 1917 almost all were
united by their rejection of Tsarism. The Petrograd Soviet coordinated strikes and protests, making
them harder to stop because they would often occur randomly. By comparing February 1917 to 1905
you can easily figure out the reasons why protests were more successful the second time

sick man of Europe : The sick man of Europe is a label that is given to a European country. It was
given to them when they were experiencing a time of economic difficulty. In the mid 19th century is

nearly every major country in Europe.
Lusitania: The Lusitania is a ship that was started to be made on June 9, 1904. It was a British ocean
line, a holder of the Blue Riband, and was briefly the world s largest passenger ship. The ship was
launched by Cunard Line in 1906 which was during the time of fierce competition for North Atlantic
trade. The Lusitania was built in Clydebank, United Kingdom, and sank on May 7, 1915 in the first

Did Shakespeare Really Write His Plays? BBC America,
http://www.bbcamerica.com/anglophenia/2011/10/did shakespeare really write his plays a few theories
examined Accessed 27 February 2017. This article opened like many of the others did. The
Shakespeare authorship question has been a topic of lively controversy for nearly two centuries now .
The source detailed the evidence...and lack of evidence from Shakespeare s life. Evidence of
Shakespeare s life includes a few items, a few signatures, a record of his marriage to Anne Hathaway,
a three page will, papers detailing business transactions, and two portraits. There is no record of
Shakespeare s schooling or connection to his writing. The other main point the source hit was how the
controversy was born. The first person to make the argument did so as a joke, Shakespeare scholar
James Shapiro did this in his book Contested Will: Who Wrote Shakespeare? This article was the most
interesting to read because it contained the freshest information. The research I found in this source
did not overlap with or reword previous sources which made it not only so much more enjoyable to
read but much more beneficial to my research. This was the only article that swayed me to one side or
the other of the controversy. I found the list of evidence from Shakespeare s life confirmed, for me at
least, that William Shakespeare of Stratford upon Avon was the man he is remembered

Music And Political Conflict Between Hong Kong And China
The Sociology of music has become a hot button field of study in worldwide in recent years. The
purpose of this research essay is to explore the connections between music and political conflict
between Hong Kong and China. Through understanding the current conflict circumstance arose in
Hong Kong and China, I intend to demonstrate the penetrating power of music, as a social transmitter
of messages, within the society. Besides, it is also important to understand the perspective of different
actors within the whole process of making political songs, such as the songwriters thinking and
intention. In doing so, this essay examines how the social aspects of musical behaviour and the role of
music in society.

Therefore, it is a worthy qualitative sociological study because this research aim to give the audience a
closer look of the following three aspects: What factors have strategically inspired song writers in
making music in relates to a particular social phenomenon?, Does the rise of political songwriters
target a certain class of people?, and Why some music with strong emphasis on historical and political
contexts are banded in China?
Literature Review (based on 3 peer reviewed scholarly sources):
The common assumption throughout the selected sources was to describe the intensification of the
conflict between Hong Kong And Public Republic Of China through contextual data. (Baehr 2001;
Wai Chung Ho, 2000; Wai Chung 2006) In the first place, it is important to have knowledge of the
origin of the political conflict between Hong Kong and Public Republic of China before examining its
relation to the hot flash of local politic song. Baehr (2001) depicts The retrocession of Hong Kong to
China on 1 July 1997 was marked a major consequences for both domestic and Chinese politics. The
focal point is that One country, two systems has become the constitutional principle to Hong Kong,
and remain unchanged for 50 years. Not surprisingly, social problems arise due to the hardship in
assuring everyone to share a common value within the society, which is the matter of identity . To
further examine this idea, Baehr highlights that

The Economic And Trade Globalization
With the development of science and technology as well as transportation, economic and trade
globalization in gradually, most companies are not satisfied with the domestic market, and began to
open up markets in other countries, which is the origin of multinational enterprises. However, since
the environment of the market is different from the host country, such as natural conditions, socio
cultural, or customer needs, which is particularly difficult to deal with the situation when to enter the
market of a country, it will need to face the corresponding political risk. Political risk is a type of
foreign exchange risk, thence, a prerequisite of political risk and foreign exchange risk of the
occurrence of a prerequisite is the same, namely businesses or investors must hold foreign direct
investment (Foreign Direct Investment), otherwise, there would not be political risks (Jensen, 2003).
Therefore, for multinational enterprises, the economic benefit was on the most important position, and
even beyond the political relations such as social system, human ideology, or challenge the traditional,
however, for the country to say that in terms of national security goals happen with the economic
interests if they have conflicting objective, the state will first meet the security objective, it would be
more stressful for multinational enterprises in political risk.

A Case Study Of The Psychoanalytic Problem In Counselling
This Case study will discuss Louise (The Client) given that the emotional difficulty seems to have
begun for Louise since adopting a new child (Peter) due to the death of her husband s (Robert) sister,
Furthermore, a gambling addiction has emerged. The question arises of how each psychological
modality, theory or model could help Louise. To begin with, Firth (2015) describes the
Psychoanalytical approach (Freud) as focusing on the unconscious mind where events in childhood
shape the potentially developed adult. For this reason, therapy aims to uncover past conflicts created
in the unconscious mind and surface these (catharsis). Freud likened the mind to an iceberg.

The Economic Crisis Of Japan
Introduction Japan enjoyed an Asia s economic miracle that the world witnessed a country that started
out poor and had become the second largest industrial power during the postwar era. However, a large
bubble economy had been irritated by the growth, especially in the stock and asset price markets, the
economy suffered a near catastrophic crash caused by speculative mania(Hall and Von Wiesen, 2014).
The Japanese economy has stagnated after the collapse of bubble economy. The economic situation
has been in a wide deflation. In the last two decades, Japanese government took several measures to
solve the deflation problem and spur the economy. There are fiscal expansion, conventional monetary
measures, Yen depreciation, bank recapitalisation, Quantitative Easing, and three arrows of
Abenomics. But the situation did not change much, the balance sheet of the country shows continuous
economic recession. The paper is organized in the following way. Section 2 briefly describes the
prolonged deflation in Japan. Section 3 evaluates policies proposed by the government and gives some
reasons of unsuccessful policies. Section 4 summarizes the policy implementation. Background The
long lasting deflation exert a tremendous influence in Japan, the persistent decrease in the level of
consumer prices shrunk profits and investments in corporate, wages and consumption in individuals.
This leaded to a further price decline. Such vicious cycle has caused the recovery of Japanese
economy to

  • 2. Essay about Hold Up Problem FISHER GENERAL MOTORS AND THE NATURE OF THE FIRM* BENJAMIN KLEIN University of California, Los Angeles Abstract After working well for more than 5 years, the Fisher Body General Motors (GM) contract for the supply of automobile bodies broke down when GM s demand for Fisher s bodies unexpectedly increased dramatically. This pushed the imperfect contractual arrangement between the parties outside the self enforcing range and led Fisher to take advantage of the fact that GM was contractually obligated to purchase bodies on a cost plus basis. Fisher increased its short term profit by failing to make the investments required by GM in a plant located near GM production facilities in Flint, Michigan. Vertical integration, with an associated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Fisher then refused to make the necessary capital investments required to produce bodies efficiently for GM, in particular refusing to build an important body plant close to a GM production facility in Flint, Michigan. These contractual difficulties were the primary reason GM decided in 1926 to vertically integrate with Fisher Body. The marked change in Fisher s behavior between the early 1919 24 period and the later 1925 26 period provides important insights into the basic economic forces at work in contractual arrangements. • 3. Jeeps-A way of Life Since 1941 The very first Jeep was created in 1941. This Jeep was known as the Military Bantam AKA the MB Jeep. The United States Department of War needed a new light, cross country, reconnaissance vehicle. Therefore an American automobile company called Willy s Overland and Motors created the Army s new vehicle. This vehicle was a 2.2L engine, 4 wheel drive, 2 door, with a 3 speed manual transmission Jeep. The Willy s Jeep another name for the MB was also a ¼ ton vehicle that was the top of the line military technology. Jeeps were essential to transportation of military soldiers and equipment to designated spots. With this amazing help of the Jeep, the army was getting to its peak in World War II. Jeeps grabbed my attention and interest because not only do I own one, but I believe the iconic history of Jeeps is amazing. It amazes me that this small vehicle can have such a huge impact on history as becoming the World War II Vehicle . Jeeps have inspired other similar light utility vehicles and are the oldest off road vehicle ever made. Jeeps also have a huge impact on today s modern society. Jeeps bring society together. Jeep people have a slang term for themselves called Jeepers . Within today s society there are Jeep Clubs. The aftermath of the Military Bantam Jeep, the Civilian Jeep, was another start to the legacy of Jeeps. In 1944 the CJ was brought to life with in the Jeep world. Along with all of its other brothers in the military this was the first Jeep to be used in public ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

After 2 minutes we left my room and went into the hall. I slipped my shoes on half way and thought, once i m in the living room I will put them on completely. The railing of the stairs measured, right by my waist, so I locked my arms. I had just started to go to the third step when my right leg slipped and I fell, landing seated. My sight turned dark as if I had been staring at the sun and white snow. For some reason I thought I had made the railing fall of the wall. I thought this because heard and felt something fall on me. I started searching for my left arm with a blurry vision. I couldn t find it until I noticed it was hanging in between my legs. I picked it up and I felt the bone move in my arm. I called my mom and said Mom I broke my arm! She started helping me and I kept on saying don t let my arm go! and It keeps cracking . My dad took me to the hospital in Hampton while my mom called my aunt and asked her if she could interpret. When we got there I sat in a gray wheelchair and got x rays. After a couple of minutes the doctor came in and asked if he could talk to my dad. My aunt went with him to interpret. A nurse came in and injected some medicine in my hand for the pain. But while she injected the back of my hand, I heard the doctor say in the room next door, It s either a cyst or cancer. • 7. China s Rise Of Power China s Rise to Power In the past decade, China has proven their potential to be peaceful in their rise to power. The United States was acknowledged as one of the leading world powers in the late 19th century, following the Cold War. This power came to be as a result of significant domestic industrialization and widespread international influence. However, China s case is a bit more complex. It s rise to power was marked by the Communist Party s completion of its sixth 5 year plan in 1982. Despite the country s rapid development, much corruption and violence had occurred in its beginning years. Still, China will likely not repeat the same mistakes and will avoid international conflict in its advancement. This can be predicted by examining the country s current economic growth, stable relationships with trading partners, and their keen focus on keeping citizens satisfied with the government. The Chinese Communist revolution, beginning in 1949, signified the start of the country s desire for social, political, and economic change. Mao Zedong, founder of the People s Republic of China, grew up in poverty and aimed to dismantle a system of inequality and oppression. His platform was enticing and quickly supported by many. Still, this revolution was not a peaceful one. His Red Army successfully defeated both the US Army and the Japanese. As a result, China was reunified as a sovereign state. However, this seems to be the height of Mao Zedong s positive influence. His so called ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Only through an understanding of the nature of his subjects, having an ability to control his subjects, and possessing the means to defend his subjects can the prince truly find the universal key to open the door to upholding the ideals of practical leadership. When a prince understands the nature of the people it is easier for him to enter the land. Machiavelli writes of the Romans and how they developed their empire, the Aetolians once brought the Romans into Greece; and in every other country they invaded, the Romans were brought in by the inhabitants. Because the Romans understood human nature their movement into power was unchallenged. Once in power it is essential for the prince to be able to control the people. I say that a prince must want to have a reputation for compassion rather than cruelty: none the less, he must be careful that he does not make bad use of compassion. When Machiavelli wrote this he was outlining the key to

  • 12. Lincoln Racist Dbq Racism is the belief of superiority of a certain race which often leads to discrimination towards other people. Lincoln was a racist because of his ideology. According to Document B, Lincoln was in favor of the race to which I belong, having the superior position . Since Lincoln believed that he, the white race, was better and superior to the Negroes, this proves that he is racist because of his ideology. In addition, Lincoln was a racist because of his words. In Document C and D, Lincoln called the Negroes heathism , barbarian , creatures . By using such demeaning and dehumanizing words, Lincoln puts down the Negroes, which establishes himself as the better race. However, some may argue that Lincoln was not a racist. In Document A, Lincoln believed that the Negro was born his equal and that no human law can deprive him of these rights . By thinking that he is equal to Negroes, it demonstrates that he does not think lowly of them. Although Lincoln stated that the Negro is his equal, it does not hide the fact that he believes that the white race is more superior and the words he uses to describe the Negroes.Historical figures should not be judged by today s moral standards because their actions back then might have been different if they were here in present day. It built a stockade in west central Georgia to accommodate approximately 10,000 prisoners of war. As the fighting moved ever deeper into the South in the last year of the war, the expanded stockade at one point held nearly 33,000 Union soldiers. The termination by the North of the prisoner of war exchanges which had existed previously and the continually depleting resources of the Confederacy left these prisoners stranded in miserable conditions. The entire regiment, except for one group on scout was captured at Union City, Tennessee on March 24, 1864 by a detachment of Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest s regiment under the command of Col. William L. Duckworth. The captured men were mainly from Carroll, Henderson and McNairy Counties with some recruits from Henry, Weakley, Benton, Madison, Gibson, Hardin, and Decatur counties. These men suffered horribly during the time they were prisoners. Two thirds of them died within a year of the capture. Their high mortality rate can be attibuted both to the prison to which they were sent and to the actions of their captors. One group within the captors of the 7th Tennessee Cavalry USA was the 7th Tennessee Cavalry CSA. Both groups were primarily West Tennesseans and there was intense ill feeling between them. Some men were neighbors and personally knew each other. For the 7th Tennessee USA, the humiliation was almost total. Colonel Duckworth tricked them into surrender when help was nearby. And, it was the second time that Forrest s men had forced them to surrender. The first time at Trenton in December, 1862, they had been paroled and had spent their time at Camp Chase, Ohio. Some members of the regiment, who were captured at Ripley and Mt. Pinson, Tennesse, had even spent a short time in Richmond, Virginia in 1863 before being parolled once again. Negative integration, generally less complicated to reach than the positive, eradicates the measures used by states to obstruct the free flow of economic resources between integrated countries, while the positive integration involves alteration of already existing economic and political instruments and permits international markets to operate more effectively. (Tinbergen, 1965) Example of implementation of the negative dimension could be found in the early stages of the European Union, which, by employing the positive approach, reached the higher levels of the economic integration. The Complex Processes Of Urban Development The complex processes of urbanisation overarches and entails a set of social, cultural, economic, political, environmental and technological functions that result in sprawl and densities, proportional to core size and settlement. Further implicating the extensive use of natural resources from fringes and rural spheres within city limits to be consumed and then later in turn converted into waste. Urban ecosystems are therefore, complex multifaceted systems that require a burdensome amount of natural resources input and negotiations for their adequate development. In urban discourse, the lack of interdisciplinary and trans disciplinary interest partly due to an absence of tools to which all disciplines can use to further incorporate ecological theories to assessment and planning of urban centers. All these connections have been made and academics have divided the complex concept into biophysical processes and socioeconomic processes when examining cities in case studies. The urban ecology theory and a closely related concept of urban metabolism can explain the technical aspects of urban density and growth but human influences are not accounted for in the assessment. However, human scholarship is a key component that shapes the metabolic processes in urban ecologies and in turn alters the initial footprint. By examining the historical context of urban ecology, the early stages and latter results of the urban ecology theory being transformed from a multidisciplinary concept into ... For much of America, this grief has completely changed the way people live their lives. According to an article by the LA Times [source needed], 35% of the workforce today feels more stressed at work due to politics. Following the election, countless people began creating scapegoats to blame for their loss. In some extreme circumstances, the results triggered depression and almost a political sickness for some people. Furthermore, they directed their rage at the world and then began to focus that anger on people such as their neighbors, co workers, and politicians. This atmosphere of taking sides has created an exceptional rift in the fabric of American society. However, very few have voiced opinions about how their current situation could have been a result of their prior actions, and many people are still pointing fingers rather than directing their passion towards finding a constructive solution to their problems. Similarly, in Shakespeare s play Hamlet, the protagonist experiences a process of condemnation following his father s death. • 18. Safety Enforcement By Police And The Fire Department Essay There are two images. Imagine you are walking down the sidewalk next to your home, and you see a small boy riding a bike. The child accidentally hits a curb with the bike, and falls over, scraping his head on the concrete. You see a nasty gash, and quickly help the boy stop the bleeding while determining if it is a life threatening injury. Depending on what you find, you might call for an ambulance, or if it is not threatening, you might just walk the boy back to his home and help him back to his parents. In either case, you have demonstrated social responsibility. However, there is another image. Imagine you are busy filing papers in your office. You happen to glance at your phone and see a notification from your news source reporting a wildfire outbreak about 50 miles away. In this case, all you can do is remain updated as to what is happening, and be vigilant to obey safety enforcement by police and the fire department. That is the normal apex of an individual s social responsibility in such a circumstance. On the other hand, professional privilege has a significant role in this, especially in the context of public relations. It is the expectation of public relations and media sources to report the happenings with accuracy and promptness. By looking more closely at professional privilege and social responsibility in context of public relations, one should be able to gain a better understanding as to how they relate to each other. There are additional functionalities and integrations with these new platforms that the IT team feels the business would greatly benefit from. Next, we need to determine if the new software will work with the current hardware in place, but it does not due to the age of the current hardware. I advised that this would be a great time to start the virtualization project and we can use the new ERP system as the test bed. If we choose not to merge with the virtualization project to take advantage of the hardware, then we will need to establish costs for the new hardware and if this will fit into the current budget. We will then need to decide if the users will require extensive training for the new replacement software. Because this is brand new software utilizing a GUI, the users will need training. As such, we will have to research what type of training the company offers and the associated costs. Next we have to work out if the training for this new software fits into the budget in addition to the hardware. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

On an international level, the electric guitar is by far the most famous instrument to come out of the United States (howstuffworks.com). These include certain relationships between velocity, wavelength, and frequency and equations that describe the motion of a string fixed at both ends. How Pick Ups Work: Electric guitar pick ups work by employing principles of magnetic induction. The pick ups are composed of small electromagnets (magnets that are wrapped with a coil of wire, thus allowing an electric current to flow through them). Because of their close proximity to the strings, these magnets induce a north and south pole on the strings. When the string is played, it begins to oscillate, or move in a wave like fashion. This affects the field surrounding the pick up and causes a change in the magnetic field. These changes, or fluctuations in the magnetic field are transmitted through the wires connecting the pick up(s) to the output jack and are thus relayed to the amplifier where they are sent to the speaker and converted from electrical energy once again into motion energy (sound). (Brain, n.p.) Electromagnets can turn electrical energy into motion. Likewise the converse is true: they can turn motion into electrical energy. Such is the case with electric guitar pick ups. Waves on a String: A guitar string is an example of a string fixed at both ends which is elastic and can vibrate.

  • 32. Dinitrogen Research Paper A catalytic route to ammonia from dinitrogen has been one of the most intensively researched areas of chemistry in the last 50 years. Nitrogen gas constitutes 78% of Earth s atmosphere, and is easily accessed through the fractional distillation of air. Despite this enormous potential for use as a chemical feedstock to synthesize ammonia, the inert nature of elemental nitrogen makes it extremely difficult for most practical purposes. Currently, ammonia is synthesized via the Haber Bosch process, which uses nitrogen, hydrogen, and an iron catalyst at an excess of 200 °C and 300 atm. The enormous energy demands of this process consume approximately 2% of the world s annual energy supply. Despite this high cost, the Haber Bosch process has been invaluable as a chemical process over the last century because it has solely allowed the agricultural industry to keep up with the rising food demand of the modern world by enabling the large scale production of nitrogen based fertilizers. Rachael Wandrey COURSE ASSIGNMENT DATE Treating the Psychological Effects of Complex Trauma: Making a Case for Narrative Exposure Therapy Defining Complex Trauma Complex trauma is a term that was established to differentiate traumas that occur repeatedly from traumas that happen in only one instance (herein referred to as simple trauma ; Coutois, 2008). For instance, complex trauma is typically referred to in the context of abusive childhoods wherein the child experiences repeated traumatic events (e.g., physical or sexual abuse) over the course of their childhood. Often the trauma will occur in parent child relationships leaving the victim under the control of the perpetrator (Herman, 1992). However, complex trauma is not limited to family violence, but can include other prolonged traumatic experiences, such as concentration camps and torture (Williams, 2006). Some researchers have argued that victims of complex trauma experience different psychological challenges than those who are victimized in one isolated incident (e.g., armed robbery). Coutois (2008) delineated seven problem areas that she believes are related to repeated early interpersonal trauma (i.e., complex trauma): 1) alterations in the regulation of affective impulses, 2) alterations in attention and consciousness, 3) alterations in self perception, 4) alterations in perception of the perpetrator, 5) alterations in relationships to others, 6) somatization and/or medical problems, 7) alterations in ... Overall, Schumpeter would agree with the philosophy of Startup America, as it allows for entrepreneurs to be more successful, which in his mind would increase economic development. Next, when Israel Kirzner would examine Startup America he would approve of its focus on entrepreneurship in America, however, he would find flaws in the methods that Startup America uses. First, he would like how Startup America concentrated on promoting entrepreneurship, as he also believes it is directly correlated to economic development. In Kirzner s article, The Alert and Creative Entrepreneur , he says, Successful entrepreneurship plays an enormously significant role in driving economic development, growth, an in the achievement of the prosperous economy (1). Clearly, as stated in his article, Kirzner understands the significance of successful entrepreneurship and how it can impact the economy, therefore, he wants to find ways to promote entrepreneurship and increase its success, which is exactly what Startup America is doing. Although, Kirzner would agree with the philosophy of Startup America, he would dislike how it prioritizes everything. Instead of prioritizing, Kirzner would call for clear and equal rules, which would produce equality throughout the economy. Basically, Kirzner would find that Startup ... • 41. Conference Reflection Paper During the week of May 25, I had the privilege to attend a conference in Washington D.C. called NCORE, the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity. Conference topics ranged from police brutality, mass incarceration, Ferguson to moving towards identity after liberation. Since I am an African American, I felt that it was expected of me to attend conferences that only relate to my people and my identity. To stray away from the expected , I decided to dedicate one day to learning about different cultures. That morning, I attended a conference on the education of Asian Americans in the United States. Before we go into this, we have to understand the difference between the foreigner and the American. When Muslims immigrate to the US, they are faced with the constant stares of onlookers who are confused of what they are, where they come from, and when are they leaving. As you can tell, Americans have always seen Muslims as the other , but tensions intensified after the 9/11 attacks. The 9/11 attacks brought Muslim culture to the forefront. Many people started performing hate crimes against Muslims and Islamic nations. The American government has sanctioned surveillance and investigations into Islamic nations in order to prevent another 9/11 attack. The government has perpetuated this hatred towards Muslims on the basis that since all terrorists are Muslims, all Muslims must be terrorists. Furthermore, Americans have this idea that Muslims should apologize for the 9/11 attacks. The entire Muslim culture was not responsible for 9/11. Although it seems to be easy to point the finger at one group of people, it becomes difficult when you are blaming a group of people on one person s actions. If Americans expect an apology for Muslims, all whites should be prepared to apologize to blacks for slavery. The apology concept is complete ludicrous. If you believe that all Muslims are terrorists, this judgment makes the statement that all blacks are criminals true. If either one are true, how do we explain Barack Obama and Farah Pandith. In addition, airport customs have used the 9/11 attacks as an excuse for random security checks of Muslims. This promotes an almost majority rule of widespread racial profiling of Muslims. On the airport, there are numerous customs checkpoints for Homeland Security that takes a minimum of 2 hours to catch your plane. Americans even have this fear of terror ... • 42. Analysis Of Margaret Atwood s The Penelopiad Margaret Atwood is a Canadian author and poet. She is the author of more than forty books of fiction, poetry, and critical essays (margareatwood.ca) and is very popular in the feminist community due to her novels focusing on women s culture and viewpoint. The Penelopiad is a novel written by Atwood that tells the myth of the famous Greek king Odysseus from his wife Penelope s point of view. The reader response theory is the best way to interpret this novel. This theory is a form of literary criticism that depends on the reader s response to the text. Each reader will have a similar but slightly different experience from the text. This novel contains experiences most can relate to or will relate to in their future and receive a lesson from it. Perspective is very important in this novel. How it is interpreted is dependent upon who is reading it. There is not a single meaning to this novel but many. As a child, Penelope s father had attempted to drown her but she was saved by ducks and was ultimately nicknamed Duck by her family. Afterwards, her father became overly affectionate towards her seemingly out of guilt. Her mother was very absent minded and not consistently proactive in her life. Many people have had issues from or in their childhood. Many have also had traumatic experiences as a child and understanding why these things happened is rare and this often permanently affects lives. • 44. Compare And Contrast A Noiseless Patient Spider A Noiseless Patient Spider , by Walt Whitman, and The Snow Man , by Wallace Stevens are two poems that contrast well with each other, while still sharing some similarities. The two poems take place in nature, and are about the observations of the surrounding area, with Whitman s poem being more focused on a creature, a spider to be specific. Steven s poem focused more on the area itself. They are both rather philosophical in nature, with Whitman s talking about soul and Steven s seems to be about a lack of soul. The two poems contrast in the tone with Whitman s being more optimistic and lighter, and Steven s being darker in contrast. The comparison will be of the two poem s tone, and motivation. The tone of the two poems are rather stark in their differences. Whitman s poem, is more optimistic, and this can be seen here, Ceaselessly musing, venturing, throwing, seeking the spheres to connect them (8 9). This excerpt is about the spider and the soul; it is describing the nature of both. The words themselves have lighter, happier connotations to them, as musing is used to describe the act of thinking, and that is a positive thing. The excerpt goes on to describe the soul and spider (which are one in the same in the poem) as something seeking adventure, or at least willing to go searching for something, another attribute that is positive. In general, the poem is observing the spider and what it is doing, with some commentary on the nature of the soul. This is somewhat ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Romanov Dynasty Case Study There are many reasons behind the decline and fall of the Romanov Dynasty but I believe these are the five main reasons why it occurred. The first two reasons are the socio economic struggle faced by the Russian working class and the disappointment among Russian troops, which can be related to as factors of the First World War. Secondly, another two reasons are the effects of failed reforms and the role of the Siberian freak Rasputin, which can be categorised as reasons, linked to Nicholas II s leadership. Finally, the last main reason is the mass scale and organisation of protests. I believe that the First World War is the most significant factor in the decline and fall of the Romanov dynasty, but in this case you could argue that either Nicholas ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One massive event that occurred in 1905 was Bloody Sunday. This was a devastating event, which occurred in Russia due to innocent people wanting justice and protection. The people wanted to reduce the working day to eight hours. They also wanted the employers and administrators to provide medical care in the workplace. Over these few days of protesting 1000 people were trampled on to death. Moreover, the 1917 revolution led to Nicholas abdication. One of the main reasons for Nicholas abdication was due to the mass amount of workers rights protests in February 1917. They grew so big because of a series of uncoordinated strikes in the capital that immediately attacked the government over food shortages, which gave more people a reason to protest. By 25th February 1917 over 200,000 people had protested on Petrograd streets. In 1905 protestors were divided, but in 1917 almost all were united by their rejection of Tsarism. The Petrograd Soviet coordinated strikes and protests, making them harder to stop because they would often occur randomly. Evidence of Shakespeare s life includes a few items, a few signatures, a record of his marriage to Anne Hathaway, a three page will, papers detailing business transactions, and two portraits. The Economic And Trade Globalization With the development of science and technology as well as transportation, economic and trade globalization in gradually, most companies are not satisfied with the domestic market, and began to open up markets in other countries, which is the origin of multinational enterprises. However, since the environment of the market is different from the host country, such as natural conditions, socio cultural, or customer needs, which is particularly difficult to deal with the situation when to enter the market of a country, it will need to face the corresponding political risk. Political risk is a type of foreign exchange risk, thence, a prerequisite of political risk and foreign exchange risk of the occurrence of a prerequisite is the same, namely businesses or investors must hold foreign direct investment (Foreign Direct Investment), otherwise, there would not be political risks (Jensen, 2003).
