his depression The air thumped and shuddered and occasional flashes revealed the thickets of barbed

A Business Model For A Big Corporation
Indeed, the sharing economy known as collaborative consumption. It is a trending concept that
highlights the skills for individuals to rent or borrow the goods as compared to purchase them.
Without a doubt we can say that 2013 is a sharing economy year. (Forbes, 2013) The concept of the
sharing economy is following below:
Accommodation sharing: Airbnb has not only opened the doors for the alternative way in the
perspective of travel, but it has forced cities to follow up their housing codes and questions about
housing requirement and desires. (Lee, 2013)
Bike sharing: This concept defines that passing the bike to another person has maybe done more to
transform the city.
Car sharing: This industry begins with small business and no time became an attractive business
model for a big corporation. Chart 1 shown that the car sharing economy of scale. It indicates the car

The Pros And Cons Of Nuclear Power
Statement of intent That Nuclear power is a great way to produce power and is not as bad as it is said
to be. This will be directed teens and young adults looking for a quick read in a small informative
magazine. The following piece of writing is about how nuclear energy is a good source of power. This
is important because of the growing population and the need for electricity. I am writing this for teens
and young adults as just a small informative. Splitting the atom is a dangerous practice that can
cause widespread destruction but when used properly it is the best source of energy possible. Not only
does this method create huge amounts of energy for the amount of fuel required, but is also incredibly
environmentally friendly with a very low impact. Nuclear energy is not as dangerous as most people
believe it is. You can disagree and say nuclear power is dangerous but times have changed. Modern
reactors and containment facilities are far safer and more advanced now. Out of the thirty three
countries operating nuclear power plants, there have only been three major accidents. These were
Fukushima, Chernobyl and Three Mile Island. Only the Chernobyl accident in 1986 had fatalities. In
fact it had the only fatalities caused by a commercial nuclear disaster. The reactors used at Chernobyl
were the very flawed and poorly designed Soviet reactor which were designed at the birth of the
nuclear age. They were unable to cool themselves in an emergency shutdown or stop of the

What Were The Consequences Of The Cold War
One cannot apprehend the consequences the Second World War had, that lead to the Cold War without
having a look at the happenings and events during the war itself. The rivalry of influence between the
Soviet Union and the United States during the Cold War is indubitable. In the aftermath of World War
Two, the United States and the Soviet Union were already militarily and diplomatically engaged in
Iran. Iran became the major theatre of ideological conflict between the great powers, these effects
would deeply influence and shape Iran s politics and history. In this essay, I intend to explore the
effects the Cold War had on Iran s politics, starting with the stance of Iran during World War 2 and
ending with the Iranian Revolution that brought ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Various political parties demanded a role in his government such as the Tudeh party, an Iranian
communist party formed in 1941 that wanted the government to take control and own the nation s
businesses and properties. Many groups also wanted foreign companies banned from Iran. Most
Iranians opposed Great Britain. The British ran the largest oil facility in Iran and took advantage of it,
Iranian oil flowed out of the country and British companies became rich from it whilst Iranians
received little to no profit. In 1951, Iranians elected a man named Mohammad Mosaddeq as prime
minister. The prime minister was the most powerful man in the government even more powerful than
the Shah himself. Mosaddeq vowed to nationalize Iranian oil and free Iran from foreign control by the
West. When Mosaddeq tried to do so, the British claimed that he was stealing property. Along with the
Soviet Union, the United States had come from World War Two as a superpower. When the British felt
their personal interests in Iran were threatened, they asked the United States for help. The British
argued that communists in Iran, supported by the Soviet Union were threatening to take over Iran and
its valuable oil. President Eisenhower did not need any more

A Kaisin In The Sun Analysis
Catherine Gunther Kodat and Zachary Ingle : Racist Fear and Cultural Studies One scholar Catherine
Gunther Kodat takes a look at key concepts used in a classroom environment. Another Zachary Ingle
states his intentions, I intend to answer the question as to whether racist fear indeed victimized the
screenplay of A Raisin in the Sun (Ingle). While, Kodat digs into a cultural studies drama course about
A Raisin in the Sun , Ingle set out to see if the screenplay is a child of racist fear and victimization. As
stated in in The Norton Introduction to Literature , historical criticism took the obvious facts that a
work is created in a specific historical and cultural context and that the author is a part of that context
is reasons to treat literature as a reflective society (1833). This reflective model is used by both Kodat
and Ingle in their intents of depicting A Raisin in the Sun . The screenplay had mixed reviews coming
across on the cliché side, with an African American chauffer, ghetto and when Walter asked Beneatha
about wanting to be a doctor. Making a statement of why couldn t she become a nurse like other
women (1592). Ingle writes, A Raisin in the Sun stands as the greatest African American play of the
twentieth century, as well as one of the greatest American dramas, period. Black theatre historian
James V. Hatch says, A Raisin in the Sun confronted Whites for an acknowledgement that a black
family could be fully human, just like us (Ingle). The

Daily Surveillance Research Paper
Surveillance on a daily basis
Privacy used to be the norm and surveillance was a conspiracy theory. In the past if you wanted to
keep your life private then if somebody asked something a little too personal you could say it s none
of you business.
Today it s harder to just be a face in the crowd because each of those faces is only a couple of clicks
away from knowing more about them then most even know about themselves.
Below is a list of ways people are under surveillance on a daily basis.
Daily surveillance list
#1 Car Today s cars are much more computerized than 10 years or more ago with many of them with
GPS and internet capability,Many of these have voice recognition.
The surveillance is constant. They are not only seeing where you are but also listening to everything
that is said on the off chance you ask your car for assistance. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

#18 Satellite maps With satellite mapping you could be watched in your own back yard from the other
side of the world. This is a stalking nightmare.
#19 Email most free email services are free because the companies make money by selling ads based
on the content from reading your email.
#20 Snail Mail Insurance, bank statements and credit offers can easily be a treasure for a dumpster
diver. This form of surveillance, of your trash, could cost you your identity and needs to be shredded.
Someways to protect privacy
Privacy is not dead at least not yet but surveillance by individuals and large companies is on the
rise. While most people are not doing anything illegal or wrong they don t want to live in a fish bowl
and be under constant surveillance.
By using encrypted email and removing batteries from your phone you can help keep a private
conversation private.Turn off the GPS in you car and buy a RFID blocker to protect credit and debit

The Mirabal sisters never thought they would grow up to fight for their freedom, but as they get older
they start to realize what is really going on in the Dominican Republic. This book takes you for a wild
ride through their lives from their point of view. In the Time of the Butterflies is about four sisters that
grow up under the corrupted ruler known as Trujillo. It is written in first person from all of their
perspectives. From all of their perspectives you can tell Minerva is the most wrapped up in the
revolution. She is very rebellious, she makes friends with people of the underground, and she is the
one that is most concerned about the revolution.

Trujillo. Lío was inviting Minerva to take asylum with him! (Pg. 56). Dedé reads one of the letters Lío

How The Kumon Math And Reading Centre Franchise Into Is...
EE First Draft Research Question: How bringing Kumon Math and Reading Centre franchise into is
beneficial? Intro For this investigation I am going to research on bringing Kumon Math and Reading
Center into Vietnam. Kumon Math, as its name, Kumon provides a program in which students will
have the chance to improve their mathematical skills, from the basic one to the advanced level. It is
available for students from all ages to join. Vietnam is a great potential market to invest in. Since
Vietnam has the policies of searching for oversea investment, it has been an attractive market for
many foreign companies. The economy and industry there are in the developing process, which means
that they are lack of investments from outside. Moreover, the educational system has been focusing a
lot on natural science subjects such as math and other ones which also require certain math skills
(physics, chemistry, biology). This is the point that I want to exploit from, open up an education center
in a country which is always looking for outside investments and focusing highly on the education for
young generation should be reasonable and fit in. Kumon Math Reading Centers: Kumon, the math
Center established by a Japanese math teacher whose name is Toru Kumon (the Center is named after

people who have disabilities would never think of themselves as handicapped .
The disability community is the largest minority group in the country. It includes people of both
genders and from all religions, ethnic backgrounds, and socioeconomic levels. About the only things
that people with disabilities have in common with one another are 1) having a body function that

that it s the only minority group that any American can join in the split second of an accident.
If/when it happens to you, will you have more in common with others with disabilities or with your

The Disability Rights Movement is following in the footsteps of the Civil Rights
Movement of the 60s and the Women s Movement of the 70s. While people with disabilities and

revolution which was held at the 18th century was a turning point in the French and world s history
because of its philosophical and political impact.

So, they held an assembly called the tennis court assembly where they agreed that they would not

influenced by the philosophical idea of the Enlightenment. As the Enlightenment was This Person said
This intellectual movement challenged established forms of society, politics and religion by insisting
that the world should be understood using reason and logic rather than religion, tradition and

The Pros And Cons Of Shareholders
Shareholders of the company have ultimate control of the company. They can appoint and remove
directors who run the business and are also responsible for its management of the company.
A general phenomenon about the corporations is that shareholders must accept majority rule in a
company. Shareholders who own majority of the shares, feel that they have right to make majority of
all decision because they have more at stake. Minority shareholder can also participate in company
affairs by checking majority shareholders power, and promote transparency, ethical practices and good
governance (OECD, 2004) but they are often regarded as an unnecessary burden a dead weight in

shareholder may apply to court for assistance where;
a) The affairs of the company are being conducted or the powers of the directors are being exercised in

Goal Beliefs
Goal Beliefs Extreme sports may seem like a hard thing to conquer, having all of the risks and
criticism involved upon interaction of the sport. Although, there are many sayings that contradict on
giving up while harsh conditions appear before you. One of those is from Rabindranath Tagore, and
states You can t cross the sea merely by standing and staring at the water. This might mean that to
obtain a goal, you can not stand there and not do anything, it has to be worked for. While this quote

Comparing Xenophon s Testimony And Aristophanes
There are many differences between Xenophon s testimony and Aristophanes. Through the text we
learn that Socrates humiliated Aristophanes, therefore his negative description of Socrates might not
be true. On the other hand we have Xenophon s testimony of Socrates describing him as helpful
(Navia 48). We also learn that Xenophon was not that clever himself which may have lead to why he
idolized Socrates so much. The text states that Xenophon was a military man, not very liberally
endowed with brains and that his relationship with Socrates is comparable to that between a stupid
man and a clever man . (Navia 48) Xenophon clearly admired Socrates. He thought of him as someone

How Is Delaney Different In The Tortilla Curtain
In the beginning of The Tortilla Curtain by T.C. Boyle, we are introduced to two main characters.
Delaney Mossbacher a white male who claims to be a liberal humanist (Boyle 3), and Candido Rincon
an illegal immigrant from Mexico. Right off the bat, it is shown that both men differ very much in
what you would call class. Throughout the story, we are shown how different the men had and are
currently living by class, race, culture and social position. This leads me to ask do these differences
make us completely different from one another? Delaney and Candido are two men who differ from
each other from society s point of view. Delaney is a pretty wealthy man because of his parent s
money, while Candido barely has enough money to eat for a week.

A dependence grows between employee and leader in which the employee has grown accustomed to
the leader giving orders and directions, and makes every effort to follow such guidance to the letter.
This dependence does not bode well in situations of high stress and shortened reaction times. As
General Honoré stated, the first part of the leader s job is to set people on the right path ( A Military
General s Leadership Lessons, 2009). This happens when the leader gives the initial order. In this
case, it was to evacuate the people out of harms way. The plan was then laid out for the authorities to
execute.
What happened, was that the dependance the authorities placed on the plan of execution did not allow
themselves to modify the plan of execution when the situation changed. The leaders were bossing the
authorities around in such a manner that the right path and desired end result were forgotten. When
this occurs, and the execution loses all forward motion because the initial plan is not being followed to
the letter, the leaders who were barking orders have to devide their time up between coming up with a
new plan and then desiminating it to the proper authorities. A leader who motivates the execution,
works WITH the execution. In order to motivate, a leader needs to be involved with those he or she
plans to motivate. By involving themselves with the execution, they are doing more

Collecting data on social entrepreneurs is problematic for a number of reasons. For instance, the
nascency of the field means that there are relatively few (as compared with fields like commercial
entrepreneurship or family firms) potential subjects for those wanting to study founders of social
ventures. Moreover, due to the global nature of the field, social entrepreneurs tend to be a disbursed
group. Add to this the fact that there is little government mandated public information on most social
enterprises (as is the case with publically traded firms, for example), and one can understand why few

earthen lamp and wali means rows so Diwali means rows of lamps. We lit these lamps on Diwali in
our houses and places around our house. People eagerly wait for this festival the entire year. People
start cleaning their houses much in advance, buy gifts and new dresses for themselves and the loved
ones. Kids love to celebrate this festival as they get to burn lot of crackers and eat a lot of sweets. It
brings charm into our lives. Diwali is not only celebrated in India also in other countries such as
Malaysia, Nepal, Mauritius, and Sri Lanka etc.
Significance of the festival
Though we connect Diwali as the time when Lord Ram along with Sita and Lakshman came back to
Ayodhya after an exile of 14 years. But Diwali holds a lot of significance for people of many religions.
Let us find it out:
It is said that Diwali was the day when Lakshmi chose Shri Vishnu to be her husband and they got
married. So this is the reason why Lakshmi is worshipped on the day of Diwali.
In Sikhism, Diwali is called as Bandi Chhor Diwas because is said that Guru Har Gobind freed
himself along with some Hindu rulers from the incarceration of Jahangir the Mughal Ruler. He then
reached in Amritsar s Golden Temple. Since then, every year on Diwali the golden temple is all lit up
and firecrackers are burnt.
For people of Jain sect, this day is very important as Mahavira attained Nirvana on this day. It is said
that the darkness was being illuminated by the many gods present there.
In West Bengal, people worship Goddess Kali during the Diwali. However this is not an old practice
and came into being in the eighteenth century by the King of Navadvipa Raja Krishnachandra.
This day also marks the start of new financial year for many businessmen. They worship Goddess
Lakshmi and start the New Year with the prayers of prosperity and progress. Some people buy new
clothes and gifts for their employees. Homes and shops

Sinus Headache Research Paper
10 Ways to treat Sinus headaches
I have suffered from sinus and allergy problems throughout my entire life. Even if I currently live in a
drier climate, I still have sinus headache. Although, a sinus headache can be confused as a migraine
(just as a sinus infection feels like a cold), which is how bad a sinus headache can be. Misery becomes
company and it causes your full day to become unproductive from drowsiness regardless if the
medication suggests that it is a non drowsy formula.
From tossing and turning to I feel like crap the next day, here are some suggestions that will treat or
sooth your sinus suffering.

Most allergy medications do not give me the benefit of the doubt from their recommended dosage.
The decongestant is supposed to break up any mucus that are causing sinus pressure. For whatever it
is worth, if it is needed, a antihistamine with a decongestant would be ideal. Talk to your doctor if you
have high blood pressure or if any of the over the counter allergy medications will interact with any
medications that you are taking.
All decongestant medications are located at your local pharmacy behind the pharmacy counter. Yes,
you will have to ask for them and you must be 18 or older to purchase.
7. Hot Tea
I personally love any hot tea. Hot tea in general just has so many properties to prevent you from
dehydration and moisten your nasal cavity. Even though there may be that some teas are better than
others, for me, it does not matter. It also feels great to the throat since any sinus issues would cause
irritation to the throat. A holistic approach to relieving your agonizing headache, but not a long term
conclusion.
8. Medicated nasal sprays
Nasal sprays are to be use with the addition to other allergy medications. The spray is suppose to work
as a decongestant in order to relieve and prevent sinus pressure.
9. Stay away from cigarette smoke and people wearing heavy perfume or

Getting Rid Of Zoos Essay
Getting Rid of Zoos
Why should we get rid of zoos? Many people enjoy going to zoos. However, they don t think about
animals who live in zoos. Zoos collect different animals in one environment, but not all animals live in
this environment. No place can keep different animals in their environment in small place because
nobody can change the weather. We should get rid of zoos for two reasons.
Frist, there is no place like home, and a zoo is not home for an animal. There are some animals live in
wild, such as elephants and lions. Zoos take animals out of wild into place which is not same as their
environment. In the wild, chimpanzees don t venture beyond 5 meters from their mothers until they
reach 3 years of age. In captivity, new borns are often torn away from their mothers to be sold or
exploited for photo ops. Most animals like elephants suffer from the small space in zoos, so they
cannot walk as much as in their homes. According to Wells (2016) Like so many of her captive peers,

Moreover, when animals live without their habits, they will have zoochosis. Moreover, they might

The Use Of Protective Lung Strategies And Effects On...
A research study can be broken out into 4 different parts: topic, problem, purpose and questions.
Aligning these components will make the article cohesive in its content and guarantee that the author
is staying on track. I examined three scholarly articles that describe studies related to the field of
Respiratory Therapy. I reviewed each article to determine the topic, problem, purpose and question to
see if the authors were able to maintain alignment throughout the article.
Article 1
Effect of a Protective Ventilation Strategy on Mortality in the Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome
(Amato et al.,). The topic of the article is the use of protective lung strategies and the effects they have
on mortality rate for patients with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). The problem the
authors, and practitioners around the world, face is that traditional methods for mechanical ventilation
damage already diseased lungs which increases the mortality rate of patients with ARDS. The purpose
of this study is to define what lung protective strategies are comprised of and to determine if using
these strategies will reduce pulmonary complications which will ultimately decrease mortality rates.
The questions the authors focused on were:
What are the components of a lung protective strategy.
Will lung protective strategies decrease pulmonary complications in patients with ARDS?
Will decreasing pulmonary complications in this group decrease mortality rates?
The authors did a

A Primary Source Of The West Indies By Henry Nelson Coleridge
The document I chose to analyze as a primary source is Six Months in The West Indies by Henry
Nelson Coleridge. This is a small journal published in 1825 that follows Henry N. Coleridge s trips
around the West Indies with his uncle, William Hart Coleridge who is a bishop of Barbados. While on
his trip throughout the isles, Coleridge not only comments on the local governments and ecosystems
but the treatment of slaves and the institution of slavery as well. His viewpoints are in no way
abolitionist, but he does appear to have a vein of sympathy for slaves of the West Indies. Many of his
viewpoints are on how society and slave owners in the West Indies could better the lives of their
slaves, none of them abolition, but for instance he suggests that one of the most effectual ways for
bettering the slaves would be thorough and humanizing education of the masters themselves (p.54).
While this argument, I feel, is not uncommon of a well educated, English, relative of a high ranking
religious official during this time period, I find it interesting to compare Coleridge s accounts of
slavery throughout the West Indies with that of an actual slave, Mary Prince, in the same region. Mary
Prince was a slave in the Caribbean, who was bought and sold to multiple owners, on multiple isles,
eventually gaining her freedom in Britain in 1828. This secondary source, The History of Mary Prince,
was transcribed by Suzanna Strickland and edited by the abolitionist who took her in, Thomas Pringle

The Importance Of Police Officers
In recent years, law enforcement in America has been criticized for its use of excessive force. While
the abuse of power is not a new phenomenon, the rise of readily available cameras in the pockets of
the majority of citizens has lead to more of these instances being captured on video. This has lead to
an increasingly high level of distrust of law enforcement from the general public, especially from
minorities. Perhaps an issue generated from this distrust, many officers have been accused of using
excessive force; unfortunately, it s difficult to tell whether or not the allegations are true or not. One
debated solution to this issue is to require on duty police officers to wear body cameras (body cams).
These cameras would be mounted to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So far, I have mentioned the benefits body cameras would give police officers, but the safety these
cameras bring law enforcement and the general public is a mutually beneficial. Since police officers
are aware that their actions are being filmed, it is within their best interest to behave professionally.
This would reduce police officer s use of excessive violence since the likelihood of being reprimanded
for misconduct would increase as a result of the video evidence. In a study on the effectiveness of
police officer body cameras, Ariel et al. report a 93% before after reduction in complaint incidence.
However, the footage from body cams could carry other benefits.
In addition to increasing safety, body cameras provide material for training and evaluation. The
footage from body cameras could be used to train police officers, giving a visual demonstration on
what to do and what not to do. Furthermore, researchers at Washington State University are looking
into how to improve police training with the use of body cam footage (Aumen). These researchers
plan to use the camera data to design algorithms and new software in order to achieve more objective
and holistic descriptions of police community interactions (Aumen). This means that, in the near
future, footage from body cameras would be able to further improve the quality of police officer
training due to more advanced information collecting methods than are currently available.

George Washington And The Era Of The American Revolution
A Freemason is a member of a major fraternal organization called Free and Accepted Masons or
Ancient Free and Accepted Masons that has certain secret rituals . George Washington was one of the
American elites to join the Freemasonry society, their intentions weren t to better themselves but to
mimic the English gentill behavior , even though the organization actually ending up contributed to
the development of the American Revolution. Through the start of this organization George
Washington and many of the American elites policies were influenced to what we know them to stand
for today. As president he advocated for many policies that happened to be very heavily influenced by
the Masons of the 18th century to which adhered to liberal democratic principles that included
religious toleration, loyalty to local government, and the importance of charity .
The exact origin of Freemasonry is not known but the beginning of organized Freemasonry began
with the founding of the Grand Lodge of England on June 24, 1717, the first Grand Lodge in the
world . There is not an exact known origin of Freemasonry but two main theories are evolved from
this secret society. One begins with stonemasons, who built cathedrals and castles, in England that had
secret lodges in which they discussed trade affairs, initiation ceremonies, trade union membership
cards, and had secret signs and words to know if one were a trained mason moving from site to site.

Family Members Of Palliative Or End Of Life Patients
Family members of palliative or end of life patients tend to be very stressed about their loved one and
are often worried about the outcome, whether the circumstances were foreseen or not. Due to a family
member being incapable of carrying out normal roles, there are shifts in the family s identity and
function of roles in their daily routines (Brier, Del Gaudio, Kissane Zaider, 2011). Many families show
significant resilience and adaptation when facing stress such as this, but a substantial minority of
families become highly distressed when a family member has palliative or end of life illness,
condition, or acute event (Brier et al., 2011). This stress and worry can lead to grief and bereavement
before and after death. This causes coping mechanisms to begin functioning for the family members at
the time of diagnosis or discovery or imminent end of life. Each is family member is different and
some may have a more difficult time in dealing with the death of their loved one. These coping
strategies related to grief will be further discussed as it pertains to the family.
Family Coping With Palliative and End of Life Family Members

The question is unique. In my judgment rules that apply to a host of other symbols, such as state flags,
armbands, or various privately promoted emblems of political or commercial identity, are not
necessarily controlling. Even if flag burning could be considered just another species of symbolic
speech under the logical application of the rules that the Court has developed in its interpretation of
the First Amendment in other contexts, this case has an intangible dimension that makes those rules
inapplicable. Comments: Source: http://www.riverreporter.com/news/library/491us397.htm nbsp;

Comparison of how Orwell in 1984 and Ishiguro in Never Let Me Go use failure and futility in human
relationships as a theme in their dystopian novels
As humans, we judge ourselves by how others perceive us and seek to conform to a universally
accepted code of ethics and laws. It is this inherent value that we possess, a conscience that make us
different from animals and it is also what is missing to a large extent in Orwell s 1984 and Ishiguro s
Never Let Me Go . The futility of relationships in these works is part of what makes the worlds in
which they are based seem so bereft of hope and consequently, dystopia in nature.

different technique as the structure of human life is reduced in 1984 rather than altered. It is carried
out up to the point where, No one dares trust a wife or a child or a friend . Instead they turn to the only
thing in their life that seems concrete, Big Brother. The Spies are the ultimate example of this because
the Party has managed to sever the paternal bond, which should be stronger than almost anything else.
The extent to which this is achieved is shown by Parson declaring he is, proud of his daughter for
denouncing him as it proves that he, brought her up in the right spirit. It is as though the greatest
achievement for a parent has become to create a tool for the party. Winston sums this up by saying,
The terrible thing the Party has done was to persuade you that mere impulses, mere feelings, were of

nurture your offspring is a natural instinct, but the Party has removed this and in doing so has reduced

The Psychological Impact of the 2008 Elections
State and local elections create a series of moments that are sometimes stressful for the voters who are
faced with the decision making process that could have a major impact on their lives and their
communities. Selecting and voting for the candidate that holds the values, qualities and opinions that a
voter shares is often not so clear cut. Presidential elections have the potential for creating even greater
stress and anxiety due to the power and control that the voters give to one individual. Voters have to
consider the quality of a sole being that will eventually make decisions that impact the entire nation,
and ultimately every individual citizen. This decision making process for both the candidates and the
voters can be observed from multiple psychological perspectives; ranging from the social to the
psychoanalytic. The 2008 Presidential election, however, presents even more perspectives due to the
candidacy of a well known, strong female and a dynamic and charismatic African American. In light
of the fact that either one of these candidates will constitute a first if they win the election, many
voters may be influenced by a number of psychological perspectives as Election Day approaches.
From past presidential elections it is has been demonstrated that both female candidates and those of
African American decent have been viewed as the under dog in terms of the

Long-Term Effects of Divorce on Adolescent Boys and Girls
Long Term Effects of Divorce on Adolescent Boys and Girls
Undra Parker
Wayland Baptist University
Abstract
Parental divorce can result in devastating effects on children. These children suffer tremendous long
term consequences as a result of an event that is not their doing. This paper reviews literature and
opinions concerning the long term effects of divorce on adolescents. The paper outlines four major
areas of interest: aggression as a result of parental conflict and the different types associated with boys
and girls, depression in the lives of boys and girls in its various forms, the choice boys and girls make
to marry or not later in life and the possibility of adolescents expressing parental alienation. The

In a study published in 2007, Sarrazin and Cyr claim that aggression is more rampant if the child is
left in the custody of the less dominant parent. If the child identifies him or herself with the less
dominating opposite sex or the dominating same sex parent there could be increased problems of
aggression. If the father is the dominant figure then boys show fewer problems and vice versa for girls
if the mother is the dominant figure [ (Sarrazin amp; Cyr, 2007) ]. The father figure is very important
especially to adolescent boys because when father is absent they react more aggressively than girls [
(Dreman, 2000; Sarrazin amp; Cyr, 2007) ]. Portnoy [ (2006) ] stated that 20 percent of divorced
fathers do not see their children at all during their high school years [ (p. 76) ]. Oftentimes when boys
are placed in the custody of the mother these mothers identify sons with their ex spouse which results
in the child exerting more aggression either towards the custodial parent, non custodial parent or

Women In Athens Research Paper
The great city state of Athens was established around 3000 B.C¹ and was named after the Greek
goddess of wisdom and military victory, Athena. The Athenian empire lasted until its defeat in the
Peloponnesian war in 404 B.C², but despite its defeat Athens is still the capital of modern day Greece.
Greece is considered to be the cradle of western civilization, but the city in Greece that most lives up
to that claim is Athens as it was the home of democracy, philosophy, and free thinking. Although some
would argue that Sparta was the greater city state do to its skilled army and progressive views in
respect to women, Athens also had a strong army and the strongest navy in the ancient world, one that
was used to drive out the Persians and protect all of Greece⁴. In spite of the fact that women did not
have the same liberties as Athenian men, women were still valued by the Athenians and were
considered to be an important part of society, especially when it came to religion. According to the
World History textbook: Athen Evolves Into a Democracy Women in Athens , Women participating in
public religious ceremonies was considered to be important for the well being of the city. Athens,
despite its shortcomings, was still the superior city state, because of its trade, culture, and diverse
education. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

South Park, Family Guy And The Simpsons
Humor is a universal phenomenon in language. It is so common that it penetrates every field of human
life and it is embodied in newspaper, magazines, dramas, literature, advertising, films and especially
situation comedies (sitcoms). As a very popular type of TV program, American sitcoms have
enormously appealed to a large group of audience. Situation comedies order the narrative and effect a
particular closure, setting up a temporal sequence and positioning the subject, not in suspense but
amusement and laughter (Woollacott, 1996). Laughter eliciting conversation and behavior in sitcoms
have been much liked. In this essay I will talk about animated sitcoms. The South Park, Family Guy
and The Simpsons are the shows I will focus on. This essay ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In Family Guy, there are many revolutionary political opinions hide behind the characters. The
storyline is more focused towards family and societal problems, because this is where a large faction
of the audience comes from. The animator MacFarlane has carefully blended family problems and
politics with slap stick and fart jokes in Family Guy. And there are many people who believe the genre
of Family Guy is a disgrace. Apply this notion to Family Guy, a clear example of how the audiences
are blended can be seen in the song entitled The Fellas At The Freakin FCC sung by the Family Guy s
main characters Peter (father), Brian (dog) and Stewie (son). The song is mocking how the
government wants a more firm censorship of material. This is epitome of a political statement infused
with crude humor. The song goes as

State Regulation On Uber And Cab Drivers Essay
Introduction
The history of regulation could be traced back to the ancient civilizations such as standardized weights
and measures in ancient Rome, paper currency system in China, and others including Egyptian, Indian
and Greek ( Plagiarism, Wikipedia: The Free Encyclopedia). In the modern society, governments
choose to intervene to correct market failure, to achieve an equitable distribution of income and
wealth and to improve the performance of economy (Geoff, 2006), such as the debate on state
regulation on Uber and cab drivers in WNPR News recently in the United State. In the meanwhile,
one of the key economic questions, what variables contribute the difference in levels of growth of
GDP among countries, has a continuing discussion among economists in their papers. Is there any
casual relationship between regulation and growth of GDP? Hall and Jones (1999) showed in their
papers that the performance of regulation acts a vital role of growth of GDP and found that richer
countries today had better political and economic institutions in the past. Based on previous finding in
this topic, exploring how differently growth of GDP performances with the variability of regulation is
beneficial to find out expected performance of government in regulation in economics in the purpose
of promoting better growth of economic. Thus, this paper will focus on exploring how to evaluate the
effect of government regulation in economic area in terms of Gross Domestic Product growth. The

Why Study Cuba
The possibility to experience the culture of a new place excites me. I believe that studying abroad can
turn into an adventure filled with the chance to acquire knowledge and encounter new skills. However,
I do not want to visit just any place. A trip to Cuba will allow me to better understand the Spanish
language and culture there. I know that the best way to learn a language is to be immersed in it. The
complexity of the language, Spanish, comes from the variations in the way it is spoken. Cuba speaks it
in a unique way just like many other Spanish speaking place. Therefore, going there would teach me
better than any textbook or classroom could. As I continue my education with a Spanish minor,
traveling to Cuba will allow me to surround myself with the dialect which will further my ability to
speak it. I would be very grateful if I was given the opportunity to explore the historic city of Havana
along with touring the Cuban countryside. Pictures, videos and other forms of portrayal of the island
that I have seen reveal gorgeous sights. The old architecture in the ... Show more content on

This particular study abroad program interest me due to the area of topic. I believe that analyzing
literature from a Cuban author would give me a perspective of someone who knows the culture well,
and at the same time I will be able to make my own opinions of the culture while I m interacting with
people in Cuba. This study abroad would teach me more about Cuban history which fascinates me
greatly. The topic seems appealing because of everything that has happened in the past between Cuba
and other nations. I am still unclear on some parts Cuban international relations. The intrigue to find
out what has happened within this country makes me want to travel here and learn more about Cuba.

2.6 Creating an App
2.6.1 The Chosen Software
The first consideration for the app was the software needed to create it. As the developer does not have

of this project was to create an engaging user centred app, which highlighted two of the

2.6.2 Using an app to teach algebra
Technology is essential in teaching and learning mathematics; it influences the mathematics that is

Deviance And Violence In Sports Analysis
After reading both chapters, I found the constructionist approach on deviance important as it allows
for diversity within sports. It would be extremely boring if individuals in a particular sport had the
same style of playing. The games would suffer due to a lack of excitement and possible funding that
are generated from sold tickets and merchandise. Because of its raw nature and physical violence, I
think sports such as Mixed martial arts are a great example of how deviance and violence fall into
sports. Numerous individuals including myself find these sports interesting as the athletes withhold a
sport ethic that shows deviant overconformity. In MMA matches, mixed martial artists can be seen
with bloody faces and visible bruises, yet they still continue to fight in order to gain distinction for
their fighting skills. Their skills still from the type of violence called brutal body contact where they

Proposal To Reduce Gang Violence
According to Statistic Brain gang member statistics, 40% of gang members are under the age of 18,
and there are 90% of juvenile boys in a correctional facility with gang affiliation. With that large
number in place our youth is where we need to start when it comes to ending gang violence. It is
harder to separate someone from something they have been doing all of their lives, but a young teen
has a fighting chance if our community comes together and put programs in place like join a team not
a gang to stop potential gang joining. ABC7 news did an article; TEENS ASK FOR SUMMER JOBS

We want to take the targeted youth in and give them a future one person at a time. Our join a team not

lower poverty levels. Soon, we join a team not a gang wish to expand our program nationwide over
the U.S. We started in Los Angeles CA, the city of Los Angeles has high crime rates and are known
for gang affiliation. We wanted to start in this particular city, because it is the largest gang affiliate city
in the United States. The goal is to lay the foundation that gang violence is unacceptable and that we
are here to save our youth. It is truly a sad day when you aren t apart of a gang but still have to watch
out in fear of being killed by one. Surely we want to live in a world, not just community where it is
always safe. Families suffer the most at the end, because they are losing loved ones. Join a team not a
gang realizes we will not be able to solve this problem world wide but we want to strive to do our very
best to contain the issue at hand. We are tired as a program of watching the news seeing parents bury
their kids or parents speaking with their children

How Did Jp Morgan Chase
JPMorgan Chase had many incidents where it has violated the rules and regulation and ended up
paying big chunk of money for the violations. But one of the biggest penalties the bank had to pay was
$13 billion. The bank represents several alliances of most Chicago and New York money center banks.
In 2008, JPMorgan Chase bought two failing institutions after the government asked it to help out
when the institutions got into deep financial difficulties. First one was brokerage house Bear Stearns
that was one of the firms that was heavily involved in the businesses of packaging and reselling
subprime mortgage backed securities. In March 2008, to prevent Bear Stearns from collapsing,

This will be directed teens and young adults looking for a quick read in a small informative magazine. The following piece of writing is about how nuclear energy is a good source of power. This is important because of the growing population and the need for electricity. I am writing this for teens and young adults as just a small informative. Splitting the atom is a dangerous practice that can cause widespread destruction but when used properly it is the best source of energy possible. Not only does this method create huge amounts of energy for the amount of fuel required, but is also incredibly environmentally friendly with a very low impact. Nuclear energy is not as dangerous as most people believe it is. You can disagree and say nuclear power is dangerous but times have changed. Modern reactors and containment facilities are far safer and more advanced now. Out of the thirty three countries operating nuclear power plants, there have only been three major accidents. These were Fukushima, Chernobyl and Three Mile Island. Only the Chernobyl accident in 1986 had fatalities. In fact it had the only fatalities caused by a commercial nuclear disaster. The reactors used at Chernobyl were the very flawed and poorly designed Soviet reactor which were designed at the birth of the nuclear age. They were unable to cool themselves in an emergency shutdown or stop of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The British ran the largest oil facility in Iran and took advantage of it, Iranian oil flowed out of the country and British companies became rich from it whilst Iranians received little to no profit. In 1951, Iranians elected a man named Mohammad Mosaddeq as prime minister. The prime minister was the most powerful man in the government even more powerful than the Shah himself. Mosaddeq vowed to nationalize Iranian oil and free Iran from foreign control by the West. When Mosaddeq tried to do so, the British claimed that he was stealing property. Along with the Soviet Union, the United States had come from World War Two as a superpower. • 6. A Kaisin In The Sun Analysis Catherine Gunther Kodat and Zachary Ingle : Racist Fear and Cultural Studies One scholar Catherine Gunther Kodat takes a look at key concepts used in a classroom environment. Another Zachary Ingle states his intentions, I intend to answer the question as to whether racist fear indeed victimized the screenplay of A Raisin in the Sun (Ingle). While, Kodat digs into a cultural studies drama course about A Raisin in the Sun , Ingle set out to see if the screenplay is a child of racist fear and victimization. As stated in in The Norton Introduction to Literature , historical criticism took the obvious facts that a work is created in a specific historical and cultural context and that the author is a part of that context is reasons to treat literature as a reflective society (1833). This reflective model is used by both Kodat and Ingle in their intents of depicting A Raisin in the Sun . The screenplay had mixed reviews coming across on the cliché side, with an African American chauffer, ghetto and when Walter asked Beneatha about wanting to be a doctor. Making a statement of why couldn t she become a nurse like other women (1592). Ingle writes, A Raisin in the Sun stands as the greatest African American play of the twentieth century, as well as one of the greatest American dramas, period. Black theatre historian James V. Hatch says, A Raisin in the Sun confronted Whites for an acknowledgement that a black family could be fully human, just like us (Ingle). The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The leaders were bossing the authorities around in such a manner that the right path and desired end result were forgotten. When this occurs, and the execution loses all forward motion because the initial plan is not being followed to the letter, the leaders who were barking orders have to devide their time up between coming up with a new plan and then desiminating it to the proper authorities. A leader who motivates the execution, works WITH the execution. In order to motivate, a leader needs to be involved with those he or she plans to motivate. For instance, the nascency of the field means that there are relatively few (as compared with fields like commercial entrepreneurship or family firms) potential subjects for those wanting to study founders of social ventures. Moreover, due to the global nature of the field, social entrepreneurs tend to be a disbursed group. Add to this the fact that there is little government mandated public information on most social enterprises (as is the case with publically traded firms, for example), and one can understand why few empirical studies on social entrepreneurship have gone beyond case studies. Short Speech On Diwali Diwali (Lakshmi Puja) 2018 Date: Significance, Puja Shubh Muhurat Time Vidhi to Celebrate Diwali (Lakshmi Puja) Introduction Diwali is a most important and famous Indian festival. Diwali is known by other names as well such as Deepawali and Deepali. Deepawali or Diwali is a combination of two words Deepa or diwa means earthen lamp and wali means rows so Diwali means rows of lamps. We lit these lamps on Diwali in our houses and places around our house. People eagerly wait for this festival the entire year. People start cleaning their houses much in advance, buy gifts and new dresses for themselves and the loved ones. Kids love to celebrate this festival as they get to burn lot of crackers and eat a lot of sweets. It brings charm into our lives. Diwali is not only celebrated in India also in other countries such as Malaysia, Nepal, Mauritius, and Sri Lanka etc. Significance of the festival Though we connect Diwali as the time when Lord Ram along with Sita and Lakshman came back to Ayodhya after an exile of 14 years. But Diwali holds a lot of significance for people of many religions. Let us find it out: It is said that Diwali was the day when Lakshmi chose Shri Vishnu to be her husband and they got married. So this is the reason why Lakshmi is worshipped on the day of Diwali. In Sikhism, Diwali is called as Bandi Chhor Diwas because is said that Guru Har Gobind freed himself along with some Hindu rulers from the incarceration of Jahangir the Mughal Ruler. He then reached in Amritsar s Golden Temple. Since then, every year on Diwali the golden temple is all lit up and firecrackers are burnt. For people of Jain sect, this day is very important as Mahavira attained Nirvana on this day. It is said that the darkness was being illuminated by the many gods present there. In West Bengal, people worship Goddess Kali during the Diwali. However this is not an old practice and came into being in the eighteenth century by the King of Navadvipa Raja Krishnachandra. This day also marks the start of new financial year for many businessmen. They worship Goddess Lakshmi and start the New Year with the prayers of prosperity and progress. Even if I currently live in a drier climate, I still have sinus headache. Zoos collect different animals in one environment, but not all animals live in this environment. No place can keep different animals in their environment in small place because nobody can change the weather. We should get rid of zoos for two reasons. Frist, there is no place like home, and a zoo is not home for an animal. There are some animals live in wild, such as elephants and lions. Zoos take animals out of wild into place which is not same as their environment. In the wild, chimpanzees don t venture beyond 5 meters from their mothers until they reach 3 years of age. In captivity, new borns are often torn away from their mothers to be sold or exploited for photo ops. Most animals like elephants suffer from the small space in zoos, so they cannot walk as much as in their homes. I reviewed each article to determine the topic, problem, purpose and question to see if the authors were able to maintain alignment throughout the article. Article 1 Effect of a Protective Ventilation Strategy on Mortality in the Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (Amato et al.,). The topic of the article is the use of protective lung strategies and the effects they have on mortality rate for patients with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). The problem the authors, and practitioners around the world, face is that traditional methods for mechanical ventilation damage already diseased lungs which increases the mortality rate of patients with ARDS. The purpose of this study is to define what lung protective strategies are comprised of and to determine if using these strategies will reduce pulmonary complications which will ultimately decrease mortality rates. The questions the authors focused on were: What are the components of a lung protective strategy. Will lung protective strategies decrease pulmonary complications in patients with ARDS? Will decreasing pulmonary complications in this group decrease mortality rates? The authors did a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 27. A Primary Source Of The West Indies By Henry Nelson Coleridge The document I chose to analyze as a primary source is Six Months in The West Indies by Henry Nelson Coleridge. This is a small journal published in 1825 that follows Henry N. Coleridge s trips around the West Indies with his uncle, William Hart Coleridge who is a bishop of Barbados. While on his trip throughout the isles, Coleridge not only comments on the local governments and ecosystems but the treatment of slaves and the institution of slavery as well. His viewpoints are in no way abolitionist, but he does appear to have a vein of sympathy for slaves of the West Indies. Many of his viewpoints are on how society and slave owners in the West Indies could better the lives of their slaves, none of them abolition, but for instance he suggests that one of the most effectual ways for bettering the slaves would be thorough and humanizing education of the masters themselves (p.54). While this argument, I feel, is not uncommon of a well educated, English, relative of a high ranking religious official during this time period, I find it interesting to compare Coleridge s accounts of slavery throughout the West Indies with that of an actual slave, Mary Prince, in the same region. Mary Prince was a slave in the Caribbean, who was bought and sold to multiple owners, on multiple isles, eventually gaining her freedom in Britain in 1828. This secondary source, The History of Mary Prince, was transcribed by Suzanna Strickland and edited by the abolitionist who took her in, Thomas Pringle ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While the abuse of power is not a new phenomenon, the rise of readily available cameras in the pockets of the majority of citizens has lead to more of these instances being captured on video. This has lead to an increasingly high level of distrust of law enforcement from the general public, especially from minorities. Perhaps an issue generated from this distrust, many officers have been accused of using excessive force; unfortunately, it s difficult to tell whether or not the allegations are true or not. In a study on the effectiveness of police officer body cameras, Ariel et al. report a 93% before after reduction in complaint incidence. Family Members Of Palliative Or End Of Life Patients Family members of palliative or end of life patients tend to be very stressed about their loved one and are often worried about the outcome, whether the circumstances were foreseen or not. Due to a family member being incapable of carrying out normal roles, there are shifts in the family s identity and function of roles in their daily routines (Brier, Del Gaudio, Kissane Zaider, 2011). Selecting and voting for the candidate that holds the values, qualities and opinions that a voter shares is often not so clear cut. Long-Term Effects of Divorce on Adolescent Boys and Girls Long Term Effects of Divorce on Adolescent Boys and Girls Undra Parker Wayland Baptist University Abstract Parental divorce can result in devastating effects on children. These children suffer tremendous long term consequences as a result of an event that is not their doing. This paper reviews literature and opinions concerning the long term effects of divorce on adolescents. The paper outlines four major areas of interest: aggression as a result of parental conflict and the different types associated with boys and girls, depression in the lives of boys and girls in its various forms, the choice boys and girls make to marry or not later in life and the possibility of adolescents expressing parental alienation. In a study published in 2007, Sarrazin and Cyr claim that aggression is more rampant if the child is left in the custody of the less dominant parent. If the child identifies him or herself with the less dominating opposite sex or the dominating same sex parent there could be increased problems of aggression. If the father is the dominant figure then boys show fewer problems and vice versa for girls if the mother is the dominant figure [ (Sarrazin amp; Cyr, 2007) ]. The father figure is very important especially to adolescent boys because when father is absent they react more aggressively than girls [ (Dreman, 2000; Sarrazin amp; Cyr, 2007) ]. Portnoy [ (2006) ] stated that 20 percent of divorced fathers do not see their children at all during their high school years [ (p. 76) ]. Oftentimes when boys are placed in the custody of the mother these mothers identify sons with their ex spouse which results in the child exerting more aggression either towards the custodial parent, non custodial parent or others [ (Dreman, 2000) ]. Research has identified different types of aggression to include instrumental, reactive, relational, bullying aggression (Berger, 2008; Merrell, Buchanan, amp; Tran, 2006; Cappella amp; Weinstein, 2006) and social aggression [ (Merrell, Buchanan, amp; Tran, 2006; Cappella amp; Weinstein, 2006) ]. ... It is so common that it penetrates every field of human life and it is embodied in newspaper, magazines, dramas, literature, advertising, films and especially situation comedies (sitcoms). As a very popular type of TV program, American sitcoms have enormously appealed to a large group of audience. In Family Guy, there are many revolutionary political opinions hide behind the characters. The storyline is more focused towards family and societal problems, because this is where a large faction of the audience comes from. The animator MacFarlane has carefully blended family problems and politics with slap stick and fart jokes in Family Guy. And there are many people who believe the genre of Family Guy is a disgrace. Apply this notion to Family Guy, a clear example of how the audiences are blended can be seen in the song entitled The Fellas At The Freakin FCC sung by the Family Guy s main characters Peter (father), Brian (dog) and Stewie (son). State Regulation On Uber And Cab Drivers Essay Introduction The history of regulation could be traced back to the ancient civilizations such as standardized weights and measures in ancient Rome, paper currency system in China, and others including Egyptian, Indian and Greek ( Plagiarism, Wikipedia: The Free Encyclopedia). In the modern society, governments choose to intervene to correct market failure, to achieve an equitable distribution of income and wealth and to improve the performance of economy (Geoff, 2006), such as the debate on state regulation on Uber and cab drivers in WNPR News recently in the United State. In the meanwhile, one of the key economic questions, what variables contribute the difference in levels of growth of GDP among countries, has a continuing discussion among economists in their papers. It would be extremely boring if individuals in a particular sport had the same style of playing. The games would suffer due to a lack of excitement and possible funding that are generated from sold tickets and merchandise. Because of its raw nature and physical violence, I think sports such as Mixed martial arts are a great example of how deviance and violence fall into sports. Numerous individuals including myself find these sports interesting as the athletes withhold a sport ethic that shows deviant overconformity. In MMA matches, mixed martial artists can be seen with bloody faces and visible bruises, yet they still continue to fight in order to gain distinction for their fighting skills.
