Summary Of The Short Existence Of Francis Macomber
Ernest Hemingway has made a magnum opus of various mystery in his story The Short Existence of
Francis Macomber . The riddle does not reveal itself to the pursuer until the very closure of the story,
yet it leaves a lot of creative energy. Around the finish of this story Margaret Macomber butchers her
significant other unexpectedly, she tries to spare him from being battered by extensive Bison while
they were on a safari in Africa. The mystery is paying little respect to whether the killing was
inadvertent, or purposeful. It was purposeful, they would have many proof in the story to give you a
reasonable intention too.
What makes this riddle uncommon is that Hemingway gives the pursuer different events that would
lead the pursuer to devise a commendable rationale, yet human impulse tells the pursuer that this
executing couldn t have been deliberate. From a just target investigation of the story, the pursuer
would see altogether additionally supporting the theory of a deliberate executing rather than a
coincidental one. The snippets of data supporting Margaret executed Francis intentionally can best be
seen when watching and focus the foundation information on both Francis Macomber, and Margaret
herself. (Hemingway 1402). What is in like manner key is that Margot and Francis have altogether
different personalities. This is doubtlessly watched when the storyteller states, (Hemingway 1402).
With this little measure of foundation data, the intention in a deliberate

Brief Summary Of Chapter 11 Analysis
The first chapter comes from the mother s point of view. It all started in Berkeley, spring season of
1942 with a sign on a post office window. The mother had just gotten a fresh pair of eyes, everything
was brighter, heightened, and clear. The woman read the sign, made and list and immediately went
home to make preparation. She packs for nine days prior to the day that all Japanese descent must
report for relocation. She makes most of the preparation while the children, a girl and a boy, attend
school. She completes the difficult tasks alone because her husband was already arrested after the
Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor.
The second chapter was told from the perspective of the 11 year old daughter. She talks about their
journey on a train. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The boy longs for his missing father and thought he saw him everywhere. The boy truly loves his
family and wonders who thought about him and wondered why Elizabeth was the only friend who
wrote to him. From the narrative of the boy s perspective allows the readers to witness the events and
condition inside the camp.
The fourth chapter is a collective perspective from both children during the fall season. The forth
chapter is after the war when they return home to Berkeley. They are wiser as they observe how the
years has changed the environment they once called home. They take in their condition of having no
financial stability and the hardship of working to survive. They have all changed in some way but they
were utterly shocked as to how much their father changed in their years apart.
The Fifth and final chapter is different from the previous four chapters. The powerful final chapter is
from a singular first person narrator, the father. The final chapter shows us the father s view on being
labelled dangerous enemy alien , being separated from his family, ripped of his identity, merely a
number to the soldiers and being punished because of his appearance. The final chapter is short but
paints a very vivid picture of how he felt about the world around him and how people think in

Pros And Cons Of Health Care Reform
Introduction: The topic of discussion is the fairness of an individual mandated to purchase health
insurance. It was one of the most argumentative subjects in U.S. politics: the federal health care law s
requirement that everybody has health insurance or pays a fine. Supporters of this debate, argue that it
s fundamental to make health care more affordable and available to everyone.
Those against the mandate say a law that forces people to purchase anything, as well as health
insurance, disturbs promises of personal freedom protected by the Constitution. Opponents say, it also
makes health care more expensive and ineffective.
Reconstructions of Arguments:
A. It is the conclusion of Karen Davenport that it is the key to reform. Should everyone ... Show more

In the second article, Michael F. Cannon argues no: premiums will rise according to his article asking
should everyone be required to have health insurance. He even tells us if the mandate were
constitutional; it would still be a bad idea. Some of his reasoning s for this is not a good plan is that
the mandate will increase premiums. The mandate s greatest fabrication is the idea that it promotes
personal responsibility. He explains that supporters want a mandate so it can keep them from being
responsible. Here s how this will happen, by the federal law promotion of irresponsibility by allowing
healthy people to wait until they get sick to buy coverage. He argues this is selfishness forcing others
to bear the cost of ones decision.
I believe in the importance for each American to have the option for health insurance. As a nurse, I
have seen many cases of people that did not seek medical attention due to they could not afford health
care. I believe that I should support article #1 in regards to health care and it should be available and
affordable to all citizens. The Affordable Care Act is meant to address a lack of access and high costs.
The requirement of health insurance is not only fair, but it is desperately

Theranos Trade Secret
Theranos is a medical laboratory and technology firm started in Palo Alto by Stanford dropout
Elizabeth Holmes. Holmes, with the aid of the numerous scientists and engineers employed at
Theranos, has been diligently working on innovative ways to collect and analyze blood samples. The
company claims that their devices use smaller blood samples, often taken from less painful points on
the body (palm of the hand versus heavily nerved fingertips). Also, Theranos markets quick, real time
results that can indicate the effectiveness of a patient s medication dose. Despite its growth over the
last 13 years, Theranos has been shrouded in mystery. When starting up the company, Holmes was

to prescribe statins, a class of drugs that can help ward off heart disease. The Mount Sinai researchers
wrote that the average gap on the cholesterol test between Theranos and the other labs was large
enough that it could lead doctors to either inappropriately initiate or fail to appropriately initiate statin

A Report On Le Corbusier s Esprit Nouveau, And Several...
If one were to travel back to Paris in its immediate post WW1 years, one would find a growingly
dissatisfied architect made anxious by his surroundings. All around Le Corbusier, engineers were
making their presence felt through rapid innovation of technology and industry, whilst architecture
seemed to be mired in a state of stagnation. As he watched this chasm grow between his profession
and the push for progress, he felt compelled to express his criticisms on the contemporary state of
affairs, as well as the bold, comprehensive vision he himself carried for the future. He did so through
essays in his magazine L Esprit nouveau, and several of these were collected and published as a book
in 1923 titled Vers une architecture (literally Towards an Architecture though mistranslated as Towards
a New Architecture in the English edition of 1927). A manifesto of the architect s ideas for a
reconsideration of the house as well as the way to build it, it proved hugely influential in its time and
undoubtedly played in part in shaping the development of architecture. We approach the question with
the assumption that the book was indeed relevant owing to the word still within its phrasing. Thus, it
is useful to investigate the nature of its relevance at its time of publication almost a century ago. A
major reason for the widespread reception of Le Corbusier s ideas can be found in his country s social
conditions during the interwar years. Towards a New Architecture was launched into

Analysis Of The Thinking Out Loud Video
After watching the three videos, I had a very differing opinions about all of them. The one that stuck
out to me the most, and certainly not in a good way, was the Thinking Out Loud video. Obviously, the
interpreter was not qualified to be doing that type of work. After watching the video, the first time
with the sound on, I watched it again with the sound off to see if I could understand her signing.
Unfortunately, I did not understand what she was saying. In terms of ethical considerations, or in this
case lack thereof, there is absolutely no regard toward assuring equal access to her consumers. I do not
recall her even completing one full sentence or thought when I was watching with the sound off and
no captions. I did notice that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

We thought the same things about the videos, especially the Thinking Out Loud one. During our

had to read the captions for the whole first part of the video since the interpreter was not shown until
later. Even when the interpreter was being shown, Alyssa said it was difficult to see her. She said that
in emergency situations it is absolutely important for interpreters to be shown in focus, or at least on
the side of the screen in a separate bubble. Alyssa did say that she appreciated the first and the last
videos much more than she appreciated the middle one. Along with interviewing a Deaf Individual, I
also spoke with (retired) certified interpreter Debbie Drobney. Debbie had very few, if any, positive
things to say about the second video, much like both Alyssa and I. She couldn t even sign the year

The Execution Of A New Strategy
Execution of a new strategy is always a taxing task. It necessitates the possession of significant
resources, and also a well designed and engaged administrative composition. Good policy will
designate a specific person who or entity who is accountable for implementing the new policy. At the
outset of the execution of a new policy, a group should be identified that can oversee the new strategy
in all pertinent sectors of the organization to assure various efforts within management are
synchronized.
In Jordan, an expansion synchronization team was set up in the governmental bureau that collected
information from each of the government directorates within the kingdom s Education Ministry to
oversee the implementation of diverse programs connected to the education transformation that
included the ICT Plan that the government wished to develop (Ministry of Economics, 2008). In
Singapore, the Educational Technology Division teamed up with divisions within the government s
education ministry in such activities as curriculum preparation, development and training of teachers
in ICT and the execution of their long range and short range plans. In addition, the Ministry of
Education worked closely with the government agencies that are held responsible for the national ICT
grid and for increasing an aggressive ICT industry in Singapore (Coppock, Smith Howell, 2007).

A framework of sustainable supply chain management: moving toward new theory
Craig R. Carter and Dale S. Rogers
University of Nevada, College of Business Administration, Reno, Nevada, USA
Abstract
Purpose The authors perform a large scale literature review and use conceptual theory building to
introduce the concept of sustainability to the field of supply chain management and demonstrate the
relationships among environmental, social, and economic performance within a supply chain
management context. Design/methodology/approach Conceptual theory building is used to develop a
framework and propositions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unfortunately, a review of the literature will show that the term sustainability has been inconsistently
defined and applied in the extant research. This lack of an explicit consideration of economic criteria
in current models and definitions of LSR and PSR, and the failure to consistently define sustainability
and to apply the concepts of sustainability to the field of supply chain management, lead to the
following research questions: RQ1. How can the term sustainability be defined and applied to supply
chain management? RQ2. Is there a relationship between the integration of the concepts of
sustainability and supply chain management, and long term economic success? More specifically, do
firms which engage in sustainable supply chain management (SSCM) practices attain higher economic
performance than firms which concentrate solely on economic performance? The answers to these
research questions will help to clarify and begin to defuse the debate surrounding the relationship
between environmental and social performance on one hand, and economic performance on the other.
As noted by Hoffman and Bazerman (2005, p. 16):
The key to resolving this debate is the recognition that (social and environmental) behaviors are

The School Poem
The two passages I will be comparing the aspects of death in is the Short Story The School and the
poem Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening these two stories have some similarities when it comes
to the aspect of death. However, I believe that the short story does do a lot more than the poem does in
this case. Mostly because of how much longer the short story is than the poem. In the short story The
School there are so many things literally dying in the story, and the school seems to have bad luck,
because most of the things they bring in eventually dies somehow, for example all the trees the kids
planted all died, and there were many more things. The Story told you exactly what was dying. What
this short story does that a poem doesn t is, that there are many things more going on in this short
story, and if you need to go back, and try to find certain things in this story it would not be hard to tear
it apart, and try to understand every line. In the poem it is much shorter, and we do not get to know
much about the characters, it is harder to go back, and look at certain points in the poem to be able to
understand it 100%. In this Poem a man is on his horse going somewhere, and this poem gives you
kind of a dark and mysterious feeling. This man stops in the middle of someone s woods, and just
stares out into it, for a pretty long time before going on his way. What this poem did that the short
story did not was confuse me. It was hard to understand what was going on in

Thomas Builds-The-Fire
topic C. in imagining the reservation, Alexie says Survival = Anger x Imagination. Using The Trial of
Thomas Builds the Fire, show how this formula works in the life of Thomas. How has he used his
anger and his imagination to survive? The story of the Trial of Thomas Builds the Fire represents the
author Sherman Alexie s famous quotation survival = anger x imagination very well. Thomas is
charged for nothing in particular except standing up and speaking out. He did it before, but agreed to
remain silent, and so charges were dropped: A quiet Indian man is the kind that sticks around. But his
anger grew, and after many years of complete silence, Builds the Fire reached his tipping point and
began to speak up again. To be stopped, he had to be arrested; to be convicted, his words had to be
twisted by law into crime. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Indians who came to hear his trial weep as he speaks of the slaughter of 800 beautiful ponies.
They are made proud as he tells of a single pony s rebellion. Even in this Alexie s equation is evident:
the anger, sadness, and resentment over injustice is poured into emotional fuel, which when harnessed
by Builds the Fire s stories becomes a reason to stand straighter. In the midst of hardship inspiration
has to be found in order make it through. Thomas transforms his rigged trial into a platform to speak
out from, he tells the stories he and his people need to survive. He brings attention back again to the
Native plight. The golf course being named after Qualchan isn t just another misdeed, it s a sign that
even the Natives are losing sight of what they NEED to be proud of and to remember. Thomas
survives what is thrown at him (the unfair arrest, the rigged trial, the eventual biased conviction)
because he has to, his imagination and anger over Native memory losses of tradition pushes his
actions, he prods his

There is a consensus that childhood is the best time in one s life, where a person not only learns new

Modern Traditionality Vs Modernity
Traditionality vs Modernity Younger generations in the 1920s wanted to be different than their
parents. Traditionalists are people who have a deep respect for long held cultural and religious values
while modernists are people who embrace new ideas, social trends, and styles. In this case, they
wanted to be more modern rather than stick with traditional values and ways of life, and they wanted
to embrace new cultures too. The John Scopes Trial is an example of how one man wanted to be more
modern and teach something new to younger generations. A high school biology teacher, John Scopes,
was put on trial for teaching Darwin s theory of evolution in a Tennessee public school. It was a
modernist idea, teaching something new, that at the time, Tennessee had a state law that made it illegal
to teach the theory in any state funded school. Traditionalists at the time feared that the bible teachings
would then be forgotten if Scopes won the trial. He ended up losing. Scopes and other modernists
believed that teaching evolution in schools showed the public another perspective of the world
through science rather than through religion. Traditionalists were not in favor of immigration during
the 1920s, so they restricted it. Nativists in the 1920s argued that new immigrants were threatening
American political cultural and religious traditions, and that new immigrants were taking the jobs
away from native born Americans. They had the American Dream, which is the ideal that every U.S.

Psychoanalytical Theories That Show How Healthy Development
Christos Vagenas
Azusa Pacific University The stages of development are psychoanalytical theories that show how
healthy development in an individual should be from the age of adolescence to adult hood as
described in the Invitation to the Life Span by Kathleen Berger (Berger, 2010). I interviewed an
eighteen year old female who is currently a freshman at a four year university, the youngest in her
family. In addition, I interviewed a man in his early fifties who has two kids and a wife. This
individual owns a business that he started thirty years ago. These interviews and responses coincide
and differentiate in many ways. This portrays a contrast in their developmental stages, while including
how their faith has been a key factor in their development.

Summary Of The Movie Neanderthal
I think the movie did portray the neanderthals abilities realistically. When Charlie made fire, used
stone tools for his benefit, and hunted for small game in his habitat it showed a strongly realistic
perception of him. When looking at archaeological evidence, we see that Neanderthals could carry out
these duties and this is how they survived. Another time Charlie was perceived realistically was when
he adapted to his new environment so quickly. A neanderthal s frontal lobe shows some of the first
signs of advancement among early hominins. With this being said, Charlie figured out quickly how to
hunt game, communicate with Shepherd, and how to make fire in his new setting. Neandertals had to
have been skilled hunters. These findings are part of a growing body of literature that suggests
Neandertal subsistence behavior was more complex than previously thought (Wong, 2000). In the
movie, Shepherd questions if Charlie could interact socially with him and somewhat understand his
english. Charlie does a great job of showing social communication to Shepherd. He has his own kind
of language, which they interpret and understand what he is saying. Charlie also shows signs of
understanding what Shepherd says to him. When he told him no, Charlie kind of turns away or gets
upset as if he knew what no meant. When they realize Charlie is asking where his children are, he
draws children in the dirt. This proved that Charlie had potential for living among humans today.

Importance Of Coral Reefs
Coral reefs are a very important to our ecosystem and our earth. The ocean contains many different
types of coral reefs containing a wide variety of living things. Although, every day, it seems that our
coral reefs are becoming endangered. While these coral reefs are important to us, they are in great
danger of being nonexistent.
First of all, a coral reef is defined as a ridge of rock in the sea formed by the growth and deposit of
coral. Coral reefs are a diverse underwater ecosystem held together by calcium carbonate structures.
They are created by colonies of tiny animals and organisms found in marine water. These animals and
organisms contain nutrients needed to help the process of coral reef formation. These reefs begin to

In these coral reefs, live many different types of plants and animals. Some of these plants include but
are not limited to, algae. Algae is known for providing a source of food for the smaller fish and
invertebrate sea life. Then they are also known for acting like glue while helping the reefs grow larger
and stronger. Then in the reefs, are also seagrasses. These seagrasses can grow very rapidly growing,
and in return, they help trap sediment loads near the reefs. The seagrass can also provide a habitat for
smaller fish, invertebrate animals, sea turtles, and even manatees. One of the final plants is the
mangroves. Mangroves are plants that can help support a very wide range of reef fishes and other
marine life. The roots of the mangrove trees act as a nursery for young reef fishes by giving them an

Symposium Chapter Summary
This chapter talks mainly about the importance of the periodic table and discusses some of the stories
behind some unique and important elements, along with interesting scientific discoveries. Chapter 1
really intrigued me, and I wasn t expecting that. Even after I read the back of the book summary, I still
reluctantly started reading. However, I don t regret it now because this book is pretty fascinating.
After reading the first half or so of this chapter, I bought Symposium by Plato, which was mentioned.
It seemed like a neat read, and I feel like it would make me a little more cultured by reading
something that old. Plato is mentioned because of his theories about forms and ideal types, and those
theories really seemed cool to me. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rather than going into further detail of the actual looks and characteristics of the periodic table, he
focused on describing the interesting people that built the table into what it is now. Kean talks about
Robert Bunsen along with some other scientists that Bunsen taught. I really enjoyed how he
introduced the chemists that Robert Bunsen taught by giving the relationship between Bunsen and
them.
However, Kean also shares the stories behind other chemists such as Meyer, Lecoq de Boisbaudran
(his major rival), as well as chemists related to the Ytterby mining discoveries. After sharing the
history behind Europe s booming production of porcelain and the discovery of the precious material,
he moves on to the discovery of the gaps in Mendeleev s table, being the lanthanides. For me, this
chapter was pretty interesting because I had no idea about how the buns on burner was created and I
definitely had no idea he also created the spectroscope. Another cool fact is that Mendeleev was very
stubborn in his beliefs to the point that the facts were changed so he could keep his table the

Us Response To Haiti Earthquake
A few years ago, an earthquake struck Haiti causing complete destruction. Earlier last month, a
hurricane struck Haiti causing another wave of terror. An already hurt country has been knocked back
down. In response to this devastation, the United States is working with the United Nations to help
Haiti recover. Money, supplies, and teams are being sent to bring Haiti back up to its feet. However,
despite these actions, there are arguments as to whether or not the US is helping enough. Contrary to
what some may believe, the US is giving enough aid to Haiti for the recovery process. Some people
believe that the US is not helping enough and that they should send more aid. They have such beliefs

Americans Should Eat Healthy Foods Essay
Americans Should Eat Healthy Foods The overall health of the nation should concern every American
within the United States. The populous has acquired a bad habit of turning to convenience foods
because of availability, taste and comfort. Thus to re direct the health of the nation, people need to
stop crippling their health by convenience foods and replace it with healthy, natural choices, otherwise
the health of all will continue to decline. The body responds differently to food types, either healthy or
convenience, and determines the mood and daily productivity of an individual. According to Donald

On an average, large amount of fast foods consumed on a daily basis, leads to the deterioration of an
individuals bodily health over time. Consuming more fruits, vegetables and healthy foods, will
increase the life expectancy of most individuals. According to Donald D. Hensrud of the Mayo Clinic
on Healthy Weight, Eating well choosing a plant based diet, which emphasizes vegetables, fruits and
whole grains also will reduce your risks of some of our nation s biggest killers and related conditions.
Many cancers, heart disease and high blood pressure, among other conditions, are linked to diet, most
notably to diets high in fat and saturated fat. Even without weight loss, adopting a healthier eating
style can be beneficial. (Hensrud 49) The majority of Americans give the argument that healthy food
takes up too much time. They state that they do not have enough time to prepare healthy meals with a
busy schedule, whereas convenience foods are easily squeezed into a day. This common
misconception often inhibits the populous from exerting any energy toward trying to accommodate a
healthier lifestyle. As Hensrud states, Cooking healthfully is not difficult to do, but it may involve
rethinking your approach. (Hensrud 49) Just a little prior preparation cuts time and effort in a tight
schedule and healthy foods generally taste much better than foods from the local convenience
restaurant. When going the healthy route, many choices

Technology Enhanced Simulation Training With Debriefing
BACKGROUND: Innovations within the healthcare industry related to scientific and technical
advancements often lead to changes in healthcare delivery. To cope with these changes, it is necessary
to prepare and train healthcare workers to improve employees knowledge and the quality of care.
Limited clinical experience with the mechanical ventilation approach, like high frequency oscillatory
ventilation (HFOV), makes its implementation difficult in the real critical care world. The authors
investigated the effectiveness of technology enhanced simulation with debriefing in improving
participants confidence level, cognitive knowledge and psychomotor skills in using SensorMedics
3100B high frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV) in adult patients. METHODS: This is a quasi
experimental research design with pre and post tests. The educational strategy involved technology
enhanced simulation training with debriefing. The population included critical care respiratory
therapists, residents, fellows and attending physicians at Rush University Medical Center. RESULT:
Twenty six participants were included for data analysis; 12 respiratory therapists and 14 critical care
physicians. There were almost an equal number of females (53.8%) and males (46.2%). The
improvement was statistically significant in cognitive knowledge test score with p value .05; t (25) =

Compare And Contrast Reason And Faith
In my essay I intend to explore the two very different theories on wether the Sun or the Earth is in the
middle of the universe, referring to the models, represented at the Earth and Sun exhibition. I will be
exploring the topic from different points of you, that are stated in my question, which is reason and
faith. Referring to reason, we can be implying different meanings, but mainly reason is our way of
trying to make sense of the world, which gives us explanations and justifications. All humans and
scientists seek to find answers by using a common way of knowing, such as reason. We use it for
different matters, which is why we know some reasons of the origins, of where Earth and where Sun
is. At first, faith might seem irrelevant in my question, however faith doesn t always have to be related
to religion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe that faith is why we search for answers, hoping that there is a reason for everything, which
has to do with such way of knowing as emotions. This are the things I ll discuss, in order to find a

towards those attempts to understand, does faith has something to do with it and how does the
knowledge of Earth and Sun helps us understand the origins of life through reason and faith.

Anatomy And Physiology With A Related Disorder
Integumentary System: Anatomy and Physiology with a related disorder
The integumentary system is an organ that is made of the skin, nails, hair, and the exocrine glands.
The skin is the largest organ in the human body. The skin covers the outer body forming a protective
barrier from chemicals, disease, UV light, and physical damage. Hair and nails both develop from the
skin to protects us from environmental damages. The integumentary has four main types of glands that
excrete sweat, oil, wax, and milk. (Skin) The integumentary system can develop disorders or diseases.

The Dermis is separated by two main layers called the superficial layer and the deep layer. The
superficial layer consists of looser areolar connective tissue and the deep layer consists of dense
irregular connective tissue. Dermal cells have four main cells types called fibroblast cells, macrophage
cells, adipocyte cells, and mast cells. The most interesting cell to me are the mast cells. Mast cells
release two chemicals called Histamine and heparin. Histamine increases blood flow that relaxes
smooth muscle. Heparin is a blood thinner that increases capillary diffusion. (Tabor)
The epidermal Layer consists of 5 strata layers called the stratum basale, stratum spinosum, stratum
granulosum, stratum lucidum, and the stratum corneum. The stratum basale contains two cells called
the keratinocytes and melanocytes. Keratinocytes produce keratin and melanocytes produce melanin.
Melanin is only found in the epidermis and it protects the body from UV rays. The stratum spinosum
has tons of layers of keratinocytes. The deepest spinosum layer can undergo mitosis, pushing more
keratinocytes toward the surface (Tabor). The stratum granulosum has cells that contain an oily
substance. This oil substance waterproofs the skins and prevents the skin from dehydrating. Stratum
Lucidum cells have no nuclei or organelles. The stratum corneum

Effects Of Anti Babesia Vaccine On The Livestock Industry
4. Discussion Babesia has a worldwide economic importance due to the enormous losses it causes for
the livestock industry. A subunit antigen attracted the attention for the development of anti Babesia
vaccine (Brown et al., 2006). In this respect, HSPs have emerged as prospective immunostimulatory
components for vaccine development (Suto and Srivastava, 1995; Suzue and Young, 1996; Zugel and
Kaufmann, 1999). Therefore, we investigated the characterization of a member of the HSP 70 family
from B. bigemina. The sequence of BbigHSP 70 was found in the genome sequence database of B.
bigemina through the blast search with homologue sequences of B. bovis and B. gibsoni. The
sequence of BbigHSP 70 from the Argentina strain was identified by sequencing. Gene has 2 copies in
most apicomplexan, but we did not analyze the copy number in B. bigemina; this will be done in a
future study. Phylogenetic analysis of the amino acid sequence showed that all intraerythrocytic
protozoan parasites, including Plasmodium spp., make one group located outside the paraphyletic
group containing eumycetes and vertebrates. Since the HSP 70 of the parasites and hosts do not seem
to be closely related, they likely evolved separately. The H SP 70 of Babesia, Theileria and
Plasmodium seem to be closely related; therefore, the function of HSP 70 might be similar among
these parasites. Jie et al. (1996) suggested that HSP 70 perform functions critical to the survival of B.
microti parasites. As described

The Road to Serfdom Valid Today as it Was in 1944 Essay
The Road to Serfdom Valid Today as it Was in 1944
The following paper will explore the book, The Road to Serfdom, by F.A. Hayek. I challenge that
many of Hayek s assumptions are still valid today even though his book was written in 1944. Hayek s
assumptions regarding 1) the government s rule of the law, 2) the concept of government directed
economic activity that includes artificial separation of economics and politics, and 3) the notion that
the unscrupulous and uninhibited are likely to be more successful, are still true in today. Hayek was
anti central planning yet not anti welfare state, and he was a libertarian. As a libertarian he believed

The most recent example of this locally involves the Port of Olympia. The port discriminates against
individual businesses that it believes are not consistent with the plan for the area. Lack of controls
allows for government control of industries that can lead to discrimination based on individual beliefs
and values. There is no doubt that the Olympia government maintains enormous power over good and
evil. One has only to look to the Seattle Tacoma Airport as another prime example. The Port district
has imminent domain allowing it to take private property for the good of the people. It appears to be
more for the good of the Port. The Port is currently acquiring property under the pretense of needing
to build a third runway. It is not relevant that the permit for the runway will be held up in the court
system for many years. Of the property acquired, much is from individual homeowners. The Port

The theme, reaching for a goal we desire to achieve can encourage us to grow and evolve, although, if
that goal is for perfection the outcomes can be devastating, is displayed in multiple selections. Two
selections that will be explored are the poem The Lady of Shalott by Alfred Tennyson and the song
Candle in the Wind by Elton John and Bernie Taupin. These selections provide sufficient evidence to

This song is a eulogy that was written for Marilyn Monroe after her tragic passing due to an overdose.
Marilyn Monroe s goal was to be famous and to be the image of perfection, but when she obtained the
fame that she believed she wanted, she felt troubled as she felt like she was playing a role and not
being true to herself. In the line, And they made you change your name, it displays the pressure that
she was under in order to achieve her goal of fame. Marilyn Monroe was told to change her name
from Norma Jean to Marilyn Monroe in order to become the perfect person that everyone wanted her
to become. This made her feel as if she was constantly playing a role and lead to a source of
discontentment in her life which led to her untimely death, a devastating consequence of reaching for
perfection. Another reference to the song is, Never knowing who to cling to, this represents the
loneliness in her life when she achieved her goal of fame. Although, she had accomplished her goal
and was what many considered to be perfect, she had no one around her to give her support and when
times were hard she had no one that she could rely on. To the outside world, it seemed like Marilyn
Monroe was the essence of perfection, but, she had her demons and felt lonesome in her own life. This
again is a devastating consequence of having a goal of perfection. A lyric of the song, And pain was
the price you paid, summarizes the theme of the unit as while she was reaching to obtain her goal of
perfection, in the end all she felt was pain and loneliness. The result of Marilyn Monroe s goal of
perfection was ultimately destructive as it was a factor in her

Yet there is evidence in memoirs of travellers and missionaries at this time, that some existing
qualities were perceived. While these so called documenters were often more concerned with
providing the world with desired images of the warrior dressed in extravagant battle regalia than with
accurate representations, evident in the work for example of celebrated painter Paul Kane, they did
discern a power of speech and eloquence which they found surprising in what they deemed to be a
heathen race without knowledge of basic civilising tools such as the wheel and writing. Indeed
rhetoric was a symbol of great power and command since, as Penny Petrone states chiefs were leaders
only insofar as they were able to persuade their kinsmen to follow them, (Native Literature in Canada,

incorporating story telling, would be recited at length, while stories were passed from generation to
generation describing the world, nature and man s position in relation, often using allegory and fable
with figures such as Coyote the trickster who appears time and again in various forms. The power of
spoken language was also recognised in terms of medicinal purposes and communicating with spirits,

  • 2. Summary Of The Short Existence Of Francis Macomber Ernest Hemingway has made a magnum opus of various mystery in his story The Short Existence of Francis Macomber . The riddle does not reveal itself to the pursuer until the very closure of the story, yet it leaves a lot of creative energy. Around the finish of this story Margaret Macomber butchers her significant other unexpectedly, she tries to spare him from being battered by extensive Bison while they were on a safari in Africa. The mystery is paying little respect to whether the killing was inadvertent, or purposeful. It was purposeful, they would have many proof in the story to give you a reasonable intention too. What makes this riddle uncommon is that Hemingway gives the pursuer different events that would lead the pursuer to devise a commendable rationale, yet human impulse tells the pursuer that this executing couldn t have been deliberate. From a just target investigation of the story, the pursuer would see altogether additionally supporting the theory of a deliberate executing rather than a coincidental one. The snippets of data supporting Margaret executed Francis intentionally can best be seen when watching and focus the foundation information on both Francis Macomber, and Margaret herself. (Hemingway 1402). What is in like manner key is that Margot and Francis have altogether different personalities. This is doubtlessly watched when the storyteller states, (Hemingway 1402). • 3. Brief Summary Of Chapter 11 Analysis The first chapter comes from the mother s point of view. It all started in Berkeley, spring season of 1942 with a sign on a post office window. The mother had just gotten a fresh pair of eyes, everything was brighter, heightened, and clear. The woman read the sign, made and list and immediately went home to make preparation. She packs for nine days prior to the day that all Japanese descent must report for relocation. She makes most of the preparation while the children, a girl and a boy, attend school. She completes the difficult tasks alone because her husband was already arrested after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. The second chapter was told from the perspective of the 11 year old daughter. She talks about their journey on a train. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The boy longs for his missing father and thought he saw him everywhere. The boy truly loves his family and wonders who thought about him and wondered why Elizabeth was the only friend who wrote to him. From the narrative of the boy s perspective allows the readers to witness the events and condition inside the camp. The fourth chapter is a collective perspective from both children during the fall season. The forth chapter is after the war when they return home to Berkeley. They are wiser as they observe how the years has changed the environment they once called home. They take in their condition of having no financial stability and the hardship of working to survive. They have all changed in some way but they were utterly shocked as to how much their father changed in their years apart. The Fifth and final chapter is different from the previous four chapters. The powerful final chapter is from a singular first person narrator, the father. The final chapter shows us the father s view on being labelled dangerous enemy alien , being separated from his family, ripped of his identity, merely a number to the soldiers and being punished because of his appearance. The final chapter is short but paints a very vivid picture of how he felt about the world around him and how people think in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Pros And Cons Of Health Care Reform Introduction: The topic of discussion is the fairness of an individual mandated to purchase health insurance. It was one of the most argumentative subjects in U.S. politics: the federal health care law s requirement that everybody has health insurance or pays a fine. Supporters of this debate, argue that it s fundamental to make health care more affordable and available to everyone. Those against the mandate say a law that forces people to purchase anything, as well as health insurance, disturbs promises of personal freedom protected by the Constitution. Opponents say, it also makes health care more expensive and ineffective. Reconstructions of Arguments: A. It is the conclusion of Karen Davenport that it is the key to reform. Should everyone ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the second article, Michael F. Cannon argues no: premiums will rise according to his article asking should everyone be required to have health insurance. He even tells us if the mandate were constitutional; it would still be a bad idea. Some of his reasoning s for this is not a good plan is that the mandate will increase premiums. The mandate s greatest fabrication is the idea that it promotes personal responsibility. He explains that supporters want a mandate so it can keep them from being responsible. Here s how this will happen, by the federal law promotion of irresponsibility by allowing healthy people to wait until they get sick to buy coverage. He argues this is selfishness forcing others to bear the cost of ones decision. I believe in the importance for each American to have the option for health insurance. As a nurse, I have seen many cases of people that did not seek medical attention due to they could not afford health care. I believe that I should support article #1 in regards to health care and it should be available and affordable to all citizens. The Affordable Care Act is meant to address a lack of access and high costs. The requirement of health insurance is not only fair, but it is desperately ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. A Report On Le Corbusier s Esprit Nouveau, And Several... If one were to travel back to Paris in its immediate post WW1 years, one would find a growingly dissatisfied architect made anxious by his surroundings. All around Le Corbusier, engineers were making their presence felt through rapid innovation of technology and industry, whilst architecture seemed to be mired in a state of stagnation. As he watched this chasm grow between his profession and the push for progress, he felt compelled to express his criticisms on the contemporary state of affairs, as well as the bold, comprehensive vision he himself carried for the future. He did so through essays in his magazine L Esprit nouveau, and several of these were collected and published as a book in 1923 titled Vers une architecture (literally Towards an Architecture though mistranslated as Towards a New Architecture in the English edition of 1927). A manifesto of the architect s ideas for a reconsideration of the house as well as the way to build it, it proved hugely influential in its time and undoubtedly played in part in shaping the development of architecture. We approach the question with the assumption that the book was indeed relevant owing to the word still within its phrasing. Thus, it is useful to investigate the nature of its relevance at its time of publication almost a century ago. A major reason for the widespread reception of Le Corbusier s ideas can be found in his country s social conditions during the interwar years. Towards a New Architecture was launched into ... This lack of an explicit consideration of economic criteria in current models and definitions of LSR and PSR, and the failure to consistently define sustainability and to apply the concepts of sustainability to the field of supply chain management, lead to the following research questions: RQ1. How can the term sustainability be defined and applied to supply chain management? RQ2. Is there a relationship between the integration of the concepts of sustainability and supply chain management, and long term economic success? More specifically, do firms which engage in sustainable supply chain management (SSCM) practices attain higher economic performance than firms which concentrate solely on economic performance? The School Poem The two passages I will be comparing the aspects of death in is the Short Story The School and the poem Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening these two stories have some similarities when it comes to the aspect of death. However, I believe that the short story does do a lot more than the poem does in this case. Mostly because of how much longer the short story is than the poem. In the short story The School there are so many things literally dying in the story, and the school seems to have bad luck, because most of the things they bring in eventually dies somehow, for example all the trees the kids planted all died, and there were many more things. The Story told you exactly what was dying. What this short story does that a poem doesn t is, that there are many things more going on in this short story, and if you need to go back, and try to find certain things in this story it would not be hard to tear it apart, and try to understand every line. In the poem it is much shorter, and we do not get to know much about the characters, it is harder to go back, and look at certain points in the poem to be able to understand it 100%. In this Poem a man is on his horse going somewhere, and this poem gives you kind of a dark and mysterious feeling. Traditionalists are people who have a deep respect for long held cultural and religious values while modernists are people who embrace new ideas, social trends, and styles. In this case, they wanted to be more modern rather than stick with traditional values and ways of life, and they wanted to embrace new cultures too. The John Scopes Trial is an example of how one man wanted to be more modern and teach something new to younger generations. A high school biology teacher, John Scopes, was put on trial for teaching Darwin s theory of evolution in a Tennessee public school. It was a modernist idea, teaching something new, that at the time, Tennessee had a state law that made it illegal to teach the theory in any state funded school. Traditionalists at the time feared that the bible teachings would then be forgotten if Scopes won the trial. He ended up losing. Scopes and other modernists believed that teaching evolution in schools showed the public another perspective of the world through science rather than through religion. Traditionalists were not in favor of immigration during the 1920s, so they restricted it. • 22. Summary Of The Movie Neanderthal I think the movie did portray the neanderthals abilities realistically. When Charlie made fire, used stone tools for his benefit, and hunted for small game in his habitat it showed a strongly realistic perception of him. When looking at archaeological evidence, we see that Neanderthals could carry out these duties and this is how they survived. Another time Charlie was perceived realistically was when he adapted to his new environment so quickly. A neanderthal s frontal lobe shows some of the first signs of advancement among early hominins. With this being said, Charlie figured out quickly how to hunt game, communicate with Shepherd, and how to make fire in his new setting. Neandertals had to have been skilled hunters. These findings are part of a growing body of literature that suggests Neandertal subsistence behavior was more complex than previously thought (Wong, 2000). In the movie, Shepherd questions if Charlie could interact socially with him and somewhat understand his english. Charlie does a great job of showing social communication to Shepherd. He has his own kind of language, which they interpret and understand what he is saying. Charlie also shows signs of understanding what Shepherd says to him. Technology Enhanced Simulation Training With Debriefing BACKGROUND: Innovations within the healthcare industry related to scientific and technical advancements often lead to changes in healthcare delivery. To cope with these changes, it is necessary to prepare and train healthcare workers to improve employees knowledge and the quality of care. Limited clinical experience with the mechanical ventilation approach, like high frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV), makes its implementation difficult in the real critical care world. The authors investigated the effectiveness of technology enhanced simulation with debriefing in improving participants confidence level, cognitive knowledge and psychomotor skills in using SensorMedics 3100B high frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV) in adult patients. METHODS: This is a quasi experimental research design with pre and post tests. The educational strategy involved technology enhanced simulation training with debriefing. The population included critical care respiratory therapists, residents, fellows and attending physicians at Rush University Medical Center. RESULT: Twenty six participants were included for data analysis; 12 respiratory therapists and 14 critical care physicians. There were almost an equal number of females (53.8%) and males (46.2%). The improvement was statistically significant in cognitive knowledge test score with p value .05; t (25) = 3.91. Compare And Contrast Reason And Faith In my essay I intend to explore the two very different theories on wether the Sun or the Earth is in the middle of the universe, referring to the models, represented at the Earth and Sun exhibition. I will be exploring the topic from different points of you, that are stated in my question, which is reason and faith. Referring to reason, we can be implying different meanings, but mainly reason is our way of trying to make sense of the world, which gives us explanations and justifications. All humans and scientists seek to find answers by using a common way of knowing, such as reason. We use it for different matters, which is why we know some reasons of the origins, of where Earth and where Sun is. At first, faith might seem irrelevant in my question, however faith doesn t always have to be related to religion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Melanin is only found in the epidermis and it protects the body from UV rays. The stratum spinosum has tons of layers of keratinocytes. The deepest spinosum layer can undergo mitosis, pushing more keratinocytes toward the surface (Tabor). The stratum granulosum has cells that contain an oily substance. You should be able to identify the trend direction (up or down) of your asset. • 34. Effects Of Anti Babesia Vaccine On The Livestock Industry 4. Discussion Babesia has a worldwide economic importance due to the enormous losses it causes for the livestock industry. A subunit antigen attracted the attention for the development of anti Babesia vaccine (Brown et al., 2006). In this respect, HSPs have emerged as prospective immunostimulatory components for vaccine development (Suto and Srivastava, 1995; Suzue and Young, 1996; Zugel and Kaufmann, 1999). Therefore, we investigated the characterization of a member of the HSP 70 family from B. bigemina. The sequence of BbigHSP 70 was found in the genome sequence database of B. bigemina through the blast search with homologue sequences of B. bovis and B. gibsoni. The sequence of BbigHSP 70 from the Argentina strain was identified by sequencing. Gene has 2 copies in most apicomplexan, but we did not analyze the copy number in B. bigemina; this will be done in a future study. Phylogenetic analysis of the amino acid sequence showed that all intraerythrocytic protozoan parasites, including Plasmodium spp., make one group located outside the paraphyletic group containing eumycetes and vertebrates. Since the HSP 70 of the parasites and hosts do not seem to be closely related, they likely evolved separately. The H SP 70 of Babesia, Theileria and Plasmodium seem to be closely related; therefore, the function of HSP 70 might be similar among these parasites. Jie et al. (1996) suggested that HSP 70 perform functions critical to the survival of B. microti parasites. As described ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I challenge that many of Hayek s assumptions are still valid today even though his book was written in 1944. Hayek s assumptions regarding 1) the government s rule of the law, 2) the concept of government directed economic activity that includes artificial separation of economics and politics, and 3) the notion that the unscrupulous and uninhibited are likely to be more successful, are still true in today. Hayek was anti central planning yet not anti welfare state, and he was a libertarian. As a libertarian he believed that the emphasis of the government should be on individual freedom. ... There is no doubt that the Olympia government maintains enormous power over good and evil. One has only to look to the Seattle Tacoma Airport as another prime example. The theme, reaching for a goal we desire to achieve can encourage us to grow and evolve, although, if that goal is for perfection the outcomes can be devastating, is displayed in multiple selections. Two selections that will be explored are the poem The Lady of Shalott by Alfred Tennyson and the song Candle in the Wind by Elton John and Bernie Taupin. Marilyn Monroe s goal was to be famous and to be the image of perfection, but when she obtained the fame that she believed she wanted, she felt troubled as she felt like she was playing a role and not being true to herself. In the line, And they made you change your name, it displays the pressure that she was under in order to achieve her goal of fame. Marilyn Monroe was told to change her name from Norma Jean to Marilyn Monroe in order to become the perfect person that everyone wanted her to become. This made her feel as if she was constantly playing a role and lead to a source of discontentment in her life which led to her untimely death, a devastating consequence of reaching for perfection. Another reference to the song is, Never knowing who to cling to, this represents the loneliness in her life when she achieved her goal of fame. Although, she had accomplished her goal and was what many considered to be perfect, she had no one around her to give her support and when times were hard she had no one that she could rely on. To the outside world, it seemed like Marilyn Monroe was the essence of perfection, but, she had her demons and felt lonesome in her own life. This again is a devastating consequence of having a goal of perfection. A lyric of the song, And pain was the price you paid, summarizes the theme of the unit as while she was reaching to obtain her goal of perfection, in the end all she felt was pain and loneliness. While these so called documenters were often more concerned with providing the world with desired images of the warrior dressed in extravagant battle regalia than with accurate representations, evident in the work for example of celebrated painter Paul Kane, they did discern a power of speech and eloquence which they found surprising in what they deemed to be a heathen race without knowledge of basic civilising tools such as the wheel and writing. Indeed rhetoric was a symbol of great power and command since, as Penny Petrone states chiefs were leaders only insofar as they were able to persuade their kinsmen to follow them, (Native Literature in Canada, 25). In addition to such social structuring, oratory had a didactic function as tribal history, incorporating story telling, would be recited at length, while stories were passed from generation to generation describing the world, nature and man s position in relation, often using allegory and fable with figures such as Coyote the trickster who appears time and again in various forms.
