Unity to End Global Warming
Islands and low lying regions are being flooded and masses of native people have to migrate into
higher areas. The natives from low lying impoverished equatorial areas are being faced with
unwanted migration. The sea levels are rising due to global warming, thus causing a chain reaction.
The kiribati people who live in a low lying developing country have to deal with this issue every
day. Little Anna, a girl who lives on the island, prays each night that when she wakes she does not
have to deal with the rising water next to her home. She fears moving from her home and leaving
everything she knows to decay. Her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Market based Solutions To Climate Changeby Richard L. Sandor says The data shows that the
climate was getting warmer and more erratic (689). People have known about the connection
between carbon pollution in the atmosphere and the climate rising. But, it was not until recent
years that climate change has been a concern. Global warming is a tragedy waiting to happen.
Climate change is real and has costs of not only animals in the wild, but human lives as well. In
Market based Solutions To Climate Change by Richard L. Sandor says In the poles, pieces of ice
the size of Singapore are falling off of glaciers (689). Like a terrorist attack it will come suddenly,
bringing fire, floods, and other natural disasters. Rising sea levels will cause a horde of people from
impoverished communities and migrate into areas on higher ground. Therefore, climate change can
be reduced by government involvement, alternative energy and control over greenhouse gases.
Alternative energy could play a significant role in contributing to a solution on climate change. In
How to Break the Climate Change Deadlock by Naomi Oreskes the Article states pollution from
coal causes disease, damages buildings and contributes to climate change (2). Having an alternative
energy source would greatly impact the environment, it would eliminate the one of the main causes
for pollution and in return the earth would revise itself helping the beings that

Introduction
Confessions of an Economic Hitman by John Perkins, tells a story about his experience as an
economic hitman at MAIN, with the goal to mislead and manipulate less developed countries and
persuade them to give lucrative government contracts to foreign corporations. Leaving countries
with massive debt to which the United States government uses as a means to exploit their resources
and labor.
In this paper, John Perkins intentions in writing this book will be reflected upon. Throughout the
text, it will further reflect some of the stories of the voices from below mentioned by Perkins and
link them with the questions that came into mind while reading. This team s own opinions and
thoughts will be addressed. This team consists of individuals with various professional and cultural
backgrounds, including multiple religions, such as Islam and Christianity. Consisting primarily of

The Importance Of Sexual Education
1.Sex education also known as high quality teaching and/or learning about various sex topics
relating to sex and sexual activities should be taught by schools. Schools teaching adolescents not
only allow them to have a more depth understand of the topic, but allow adolescents to explore
different values, aspects, and beliefs about the topic. Schools teaching sexual education allow
children to learn, while gaining specific skills that are manage their own sexual health,
relationships and life style. Intercourse is a natural part of life, with or with out sexual education in
school individuals may engage in it. Even if an adolescent isn t engaging in sexual behaviors,
contraceptives, anatomy, and sexual topics should be discussed. Instead of children not having any
knowledge of the topic and explore on their own, the school system should be responsible in making
sure adolescents have a understanding of these topics. Despite sexual education being taught in our
school systems, although 47% of high school students have engaged in sexual intercourserates of
sexual behavior have been slightly declining since 1991 (Dolgin, 2001). Schools teach sexual
education in various ways through comprehensive which explores various topics including safe sex
and contraceptives (Dolgin, 2001). Also rather than encouraging adolescents to engage in sexual
behaviors schools teach abstinence which deter teens from having sex Dolgin, 2001).
2.Sexual education should start as young as 10 years

My Writing Process Analysis
Attending Davidson Fine Arts High School, I was constantly tasked with the challenge of writing
many papers such as literary analysis, rhetorical device analysis, and my least favorite poetry
analysis. Each paper I wrote during high school felt the same as the last one simply because I
never felt as though I pressured myself to progress or develop my writingprocess, since my papers
were academically efficient. While writing in high school, I usually viewed a paper as a whole
without trying to understand how I went from a blank screen to a 1000 word paper. In addition, a
paper was never meant to question me as a writer or to display the most important thing I wanted to
be shown about myself through my writing. However, upon entering English... Show more content

This process reflects how the political system works in America as well because each running
official or policy maker is trying to convince the populous that their ideas will generate the greatest
amount of benefits, while also fixing preexisting problems. English 1102 gave me a different
outlook on how to view not only my writing, but also my decision making as I am just beginning
my journey as an adult and how each decision I make will directly impact my future and those
around me. In addition, through the actually writing portion of completing essay, it has taught me to
be sure that each decision made leads to forward progression and not trying to address an issue
using an old technique, which didn t work by redressing the technique to make it seem like new.
For example while writing my second essay, I had to use a scholarly source in order to strengthen
my argument without repeating the information already given in the article, but instead, use the
article to present my own claim and provide textual evidence with the analysis to explain my
argument. After the formation of the essay, the final part comes the revision process, which is the
most important part of not only the writing process but also being to succeed in life as

The Book of 1 Samuel Essay
The Book of 1 Samuel
The book of 1 Samuel, a part of the Old Testament, sparks the dawn of the United Kingdom of
Israel by telling of its first king, Saul. Samuel is one of the first talked about pre literary prophets
in the bible perhaps because he anointed the first king of the United Kingdom. He is a prophet by
definition because he possessed the ability to converse with the almighty Yahweh. Samuel and Saul
are key players to the rise of the kingdom but Saul runs into trouble and disobeys God, which
leads him to his own inevitable demise. In 1 Samuel 28: 1 25 Yahweh guides Saul to his death
because he has outright deceived and disobeyed God. This passage sets an example to obey
Yahweh; otherwise he will inflict punishment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Saul had previously wiped out all of the mediums and wizards from the land because they were
evil in the eyes of Yahweh. Because of his realized hypocrisy, he disguised himself and visited
the medium his servants had sought out in Endor. He told the medium to call upon Samuel and
so she immediately suspected that he is Saul. She knew that her work was extremely illegal by
Saul s court, so she became afraid until he reassured her that he was permitting the act in that
occasion. She then called upon Samuel. Samuel apparently took over the medium s body or
appears in some other way to Saul. So Saul did what he came there for and asked for advise on his
latest predicament. The irritated and disturbed Samuel explained that Yahweh is taking away his
kingdom and giving it to David because of his disobedience of not carrying out the Lord s
punishment against the Amalekites (according to Mc Carter the dead had some way of knowing
God s plans and had access to them). So, Saul fell to the ground in anguish from the news and lack
of energy caused by fasting. The medium quickly attended to him and forced him to eat. Saul and
his servants then left. And there the chapter ends. Yahweh took the kingdom from Saul because

Feb. 16th, 2016 The eight photos I chose were arranged in a particular order. The first four were
selected from the Globetrotter s Japan while the other four photographs were chosen from John
Thomson s Illustrations of China and Its People: A Series of Two Hundred Photographs. Moreover,
the photos on the left side depicted the traditional Asian people and places, in contrast with those on
the right side, which seemed to be more modern due to some western elements presented in the
pictures. These eight photos well represented the themes that are recurring in the three albums:
Asians in traditional dress doing menial labor without the presence of technology, ... Show more

The two scenes were beautiful in a natural, traditional and exotic way, which was different from
Yokohama s beauty of modernity in picture 2 and 4. Yokohama was one of the seven treaty ports
opened by the Kanagawa Treaty in 1854 and Harris Treaty in 1858. Under the intimidation of
America s steam and coal warships, Japan had no choice but ended its close country policy and
gave the U.S., later also Britain, the Netherlands, Russia, and France, the access to the seven
treaty ports. After a decade, when the globetrotter tourists visited Japan and pressed the camera
shutter, we can see how those treaty ports, especially Yokohama, were influenced by the West.
Picture 2 depicted a main street of Yokohama. On the left side of the street was a printing office
while on the right side of the street, there was a Cigar store. Cigar was clearly not a native
product of Japan, but something introduced from the West. Another noteworthy detail was that
the shop signs of the two stores were both written in English instead of Japanese. Picture 4 was a
portrait of a railway station. Train was a symbol of technology development and signified Japan
was stepping outside of the Biological Old Regime and start to use steam and fuel as the source of
energy. In addition, in the middle of the picture stood a lampstand. It indicated the use of electricity,

Veronica Roth Research Paper
Veronica Roth At the age of twenty two, Veronica Roth had carved her path to becoming a
successful Young Adult author. Born on August 19, 1988, in New York City, NY, Roth began
writing ever since she was 11. Although she loved to write, Roth only considered it as a hobby.
She grew up in Barrington and graduated from Barrington High School. After finishing high school,
Roth decided to study at Minnesota Carleton College for one year. When she grew interested in a
writingcareer, Roth transferred to Northwestern University s creative writingprogram for the rest of
her college education. During her senior year, she drafted the first copy of Divergent. She quickly

30 million copies by 2015. She plans to continue creating more sci fi and dystopian YA books.
Roth claims that she is up for the challenged. Let s see if I can create a world and make it feel
detailed and interesting, she beamed.
Conclusion
In conclusion, Veronica Roth is a very talented author. Even though many people think that the
Divergent series is a rip off of Suzanne Collins Hunger Game series, I believe that Roth is an
original author who comes up with her own ideas. She is still young compared to other authors.
She s just beginning her writing career. Roth plans to stick to the sci fi genre and base more of her
books off of dystopian societies. She hopes to continue sparking questions in her readers

A Beautiful Young Woman Steps Down From The Horse Drawn...
A beautiful young woman steps down from the horse drawn carriage, one foot touching down
onto the rough ground outside her second home. As she looks around, she cannot help soaking in
all the wonderful scenery surrounding her. The fabulously large trees too tall to climb perfectly
blanketing the hillside in the distance. The sky clear, blue and bright with a few lingering
perfectly formed cotton clouds. The trees just starting to turn from their deep green to shades of
orange, yellow and brown. The grazing grass that surrounds still the brightest shade of green
imaginable. There are many at this entrance of the castle, standing tall and at attention to welcome
this young woman home. She feels as though she has been absent for too long. Everyone looks so
different, and she feels they must think the same of her. She was just a young lady of thirteen
when she was sent away in hiding, but now she is seventeen and has matured into a young woman.
She moves slowly taking her first few steps, and approaches the handsome young man in front of
her. Their eyes connect with one another, and the connection is not to be broken despite every
distraction surrounding the two. They are both remembering their younger days. The days of a boy
meeting a girl. The days of holding hands as they ran up and down these grounds just for play. The
days of so much laughter, games, and unconditional affection. Oh how they had missed each other s
company, and both feel the calm on their

My Proposed Plan For Life
Holley Lentner Events My Proposed Plan for Life in College While attending the University of
North Florida for my first semester, I have learned several new things about myself, like
empathy, through classes like Honors Colloquium. This class, in particular, has provided me
with experiences that will aid me further along in life, like our service projects. Additionally,
through the assignments of this course I have come to realize the skills and abilities that are in
need improvement in order for me to be successful at the occupation I intend to pursue. My
aspiration in life is to earn an honest living by providing health care to those in need of such
attention. With this career path, I believe that I will have both an exciting and rewarding
occupation. Helping those in need by promoting health and preventing disease is something that
I found interesting ever since I was little. For when I was younger, I was in the hospital quite
often for countless reasons, and knowing that I was going to be perfectly okay lead my
impressionable self to gain the utmost respect for those in the healthcare business and
eventually lead me to pursue a career in the field. Ultimately, I feel that this profession will allow
for me to contribute to society and in doing so, I remain confident that I will learn a great deal
from an occupation in health care. For a great man once said, Far and away the best prize that life
has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing (Theodore

Symbols In The Great Gatsby And Citizen Kane
The Great Gatsby and Citizen Kane are both stories in which the main character wants to get
back to times before where they presently are. In both stories they have an object that symbolizes
a time and person they wish to be. For Gatsby it is the green light and for Kane it is Rosebud.
What I want to explore is what happens when theses symbols are no longer symbols, but
memories. First I want to talk about Gatsby, in the book the green light symbolizes Daisy, which
we find out in the fifth chapter when Nick and Daisy are at Gatsby s house after he has showed
them all of his shirts. This is important because for Gatsby, Daisy is a physical embodiment of a
time when he was happier, and he wants to go back to that time therefore he has to attain Daisy.
The reason the green light represented Daisy was because it was the closest Gatsby could get to
her from the other side of the bay it was something he could look at every night and reminisce on
what he wants to make his future. Consequently, when Gatsby is telling Daisy and Nick how
you can typically see the green light on her dock the significance of the light vanishes and he
becomes absorbed at the idea of the death of light to where he doesn t notice the physical
embodiment of his happy time is in his reach. For example, it s like setting the goal of getting
into UT so you hang a poster in your room to represent the idea, and then you go for a visit but the
whole time you re thinking of the poster because it was all you had

courting, chemistry and breeding is a healthy appearance; whatever that may mean for that

prevalent though to find that merely living in our accelerated world of high demand in the

The Airport and Airway Act of 1982 chartered the FAA to address the growing aviation traffic
flying through major airports in the United States. The FAA generated the National Plan of

Airport System Plan. The NPIAS focuses on the metric of enplanements, the number of
boarding passengers at an airport, to aid in the delineation among airports categorized as a
Commercial Service (Primary), General Aviation (GA), or Reliever Airport (Young, p. 11). The
FAA generates a NPIAS report and delivers it to ...Congress with a 5 year estimate of AIP

reliever airport for Los Angles International (LAX). However, the NPIAS defines ONT as a
primary medium hub airport, and Long Island MacArthur is a primary small hub facility (
Appendix A, p.21, 72). The only airport referenced in the article as a reliever airport, and agrees
with NPIAS designation is Santa Monica Municipal Airport (SMO). Hence, even though not
categorized as a reliever airport, there may be some primary medium and small hub airports that
are still considered reliever airports for large hub

Analysis Of Barbara Bush s Speech
In May of 1990, Barbara Bush gave a speech that made waves throughout the United States. The
First Lady was asked to give a commencement address to the graduating class of Wellesley
College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Her audience was filled with soon to be graduates and
their families. As a public figure, her speech was also reproduced to be read and listened to by
thousands of people. Being a commencement address, the speech was about life, the future, and
the graduates time at Wellesley. She explicitly stated, Today you meet on Severance Green to say
goodbye to all of that, to begin a new and a very personal journey, to search for your own true
colors. Her purpose was to impart wisdom onto her audience. Barbara Bush s speech was an... Show

The reality was quite the contrary, that the Angry 150 had valid opinions, as did their
opposition. As previously said, Barbara Bush was invited to be the 1990 commencement
speaker because she placed second in a classwide vote. Her popularity indicates that a sizable
amount of Wellesley students thought her visit would be beneficial. The class president, Julie
Porter, said, I support Mrs. Bush coming here. She s a very interesting and successful lady who
lived in a different time. She didn t have the options we have. I think women should be evaluated
not on how much money they make, but whether they re happy. Porter s remark brings to mind a
very important concept, one that Tyrell felt the petitioners were overlooking: that the progress in
women s rights did not mean the same thing for every woman. Too many of the soon to be
graduates, Barbara Bush was an icon, someone to be admired. They believed she had the right to
be their commencement speaker, just as much as Maya Angelou (1982) and Gloria Steinem (1986)
had. In the study of American history, the 1980s and 1990s are considered a time of turbulence.
Bush touches on this when she says, These These are exciting times. They re exciting in
Washington, and I have really looked forward to coming to Wellesley. She was living in the White
House, placing her at the center of everything, and she knew better than anyone what the future
may hold. When Bush gave this speech, America had already survived the fall

Flipping Houses Avoid
Flip to Flop: 5 Mistakes to Avoid
Flipping houses can be an extremely rewarding and profitable task, but there are many pitfalls
along the way that can derail even the most determined flipper.
Here are 5 of the most common mistakes that turn a potential flip into a colossal flop:
1.Lack of Money Real estate can be a very expensive proposition. It begins with the cost of
acquisition, adds in the cost of repair and remodel, and takes into consideration the amount of time
needed to resell and recoup costs. There are also capital gains taxes after the sale. One of the
biggest mistakes a flipper can make is to underestimate the amount of money the project will take to
get off the ground.
2.Lack of Time Renovating and selling houses can take

A Brief Note On Automobile And Automobile Insurance Essay
These are many different types of automobile insurances. One type is Comprehensive Auto
Insurance this applies to damages with your automobile should you be involved in an accident not
involving another car, a roll over, or any other similar type problem. Please remember that there are
other automobile insurances that would be more appropriate in dealing with accidents that involve
other automobiles. For every accident involving only one automobile, comprehensive is the kind of
automobile insurances you need to have. Besides crashes, this kind of automobile insurances
coverage also covers auto theft. Let s not forget no matter what happened to your vehicle, someone
needs to pay for the repair and the parts. This of the many types of automobile insurances covers
other situations as well like destruction from fires, floods, and times when you have a car
accident involving a deer or other animal. Also covered under this type of coverage are the
following situations: rioting that causes damage to your car, raining hail, shattered windows, an
object being flung at your car during a tornado or other wind intensive storm. Taking
comprehensive coverage for an old car is not a good idea. However, certain items aren t covered
that make a big difference to some customers for instance removable electronics: radios, CB radios,
scanning monitor receivers, and laptops are all devices not covered in the package. Any other

The Pros And Cons Of The Holocaust
Holocaust prisoners left, together, in cold dark water for hours at a time. Were their punishments
for nothing? Or did their suffering somehow help us today? Between the years of 1939 and
1945, also known as the Holocaust; the Nazi s took test subjects from groups of people to
perform procedures and experiments on. Unfortunately, all of these so called important tests were
exceptionally inhumane. A few examples of the procedures performed were leaving prisoners in
freezing cold water for three hours straight or only allowing them to drink pure ocean water for
two weeks straight. For the most part, what those German doctors did was unnecessary due to the
fact that the outcome was highly predictable. But over the course of the intense studies, a few valid
and useful tidbits of information did surface. Some of the researchfindings from Nazi medical
testings during the Holocaust continue to benefit today s modern medical development. One of the
many humanexperiments that the Nazi s performed on Holocaust prisoners was the cold water
experiment. Prisoners were immersed into tanks of ice water for hours at a time, (Cohen, et. al).
The purpose of this at the time was to find out how long German pilots could survive in the North
Sea if their plane was to be shot down (Cohen, et. al). Unfortunately, many of the prisoners died as
result of being left in for an absurd amount of time (likely close to three hours). However, the
information that was recorded from this specific

A Woman s Best Quality Eggs
A woman is at her most fertile when she is in the ages 20 to 24. Infertility is generally defined as
the inability to conceive after one year of unprotected sex. At the age of 30 fertility starts to
gradually decline, the chance of successfully conceiving each cycle drops from 22% to just 6 to
8% between 30 and 40 years of age. This big drop in fertility is due to the ageing of a female s
eggs. When born women have around a million eggs, by the time they reach their mid thirties
this number will have dropped to around 25,000. Unfortunately, a woman s best quality eggs
will likely have been used up when younger, meaning the ones left over are of a worse quality
and therefore less fertile. Women also release fewer eggs when they get older. In terms of
successful IVF treatment (which is more often used by older women), for women under 35
years the success rate is around 27%, but for women over 40 years old that drops to as low as
6%. The graph to the left shows the general trend in the drop in fertility, backing up what was
said earlier, and further backed up by Benjamin Younger, the executive director of the American
Society for Reproductive Medicine. He states that fertility continues to decline after the age of 35
but takes a nosedive at the age of 38. Clearly fertility is something to be worried about, and
looking at these stats it is well worth getting pregnant younger in order to have a better chance of
getting pregnant and also having good quality eggs still. Health

My Choice Of Organization Is Leaning Toward The Floating...
My choice of organization is leaning towards the Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical
Center. I have learned so much about the organization as a solid partner of Tufts NEMC during
one of my Strategic and Planning Management classes. Similar to Tufts NEMC, the Floating
Hospital for Children has a rich history as it was established in 1894 as a hospitalship, sailing in
BostonHarbor. Back then, people believed that fresh air was the most favorable alternative in
treating ailing children. It has continued to provide medical care to sick children while cruising
Boston Harbor for the next three decades. It has then upgraded its facilities and expanded
amenities to having an inpatient service and onboard research facility. However, at some point in
the spring of 1927, the floating hospital was ruined by fire. As luck would have it, none had been
on board. Four years later, another facility was built this time on land providing a comprehensive
service pediatric facility with ongoing research activities. In 1965, the facility has officially merged
with Tufts Medical Center. Tufts is the oldest permanent medical facility in the nation. Samuel
Adams and Paul Revere originally established it at the Boston Dispensary in 1796. Despite the
former s strong historical foundation, Floating Hospital for Children has kept hold of its character
and celebrated tradition. Moreover, it was highlighted in the case analysis that the hospital has been
beset by financial

10.4 Disadvantages Of Cellular Layout
10.4 COMPARISON OF INFORMATION FLOW
In existing layout the production line is very long, starting from preparatory to the end of
assembly. Because of this, communication and information flow is difficult and for each and
every thing supervisor has to walk around the line frequently. In case of new layout (cellular
layout) the information flow is effective and quick. Because, the group of people who are in the
same cell, works in compact area where each operator is in direct contact with other operator of the
cell and they know each other s job inside the cell. This makes information flow fast and accurate.
Whereas this cannot be achieved in long assembly line; where one operator is in contact with only
two operators (one operator before and one operator after his operation) so neither he can give any
suggestion nor he knows the issues of other operation i.e. workers are not participating in each other
s work, rather working independently.
10.5 COMPARISON OF REWORK LEVEL
The rework level has been decreased by 80% over existing trends. In existing production, the
rework level is approximately 5% but after implementation of recommended layout the rework
level falls to 1%. The main reason for rework reduction is due to reduction in WIP and balanced
work cells. Due to low ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So there is no arguing that someone is doing a difficult operation and others are working in
easier operations. On the other hand, this is not possible in batch production because of specific
allocated work for the whole day. Similarly, in case of new layout, operators are treated as a
group inside the cell so their combined effort is to do better and produce more. Likewise,
operators cannot work carelessly because they will be immediately caught by the next operator
inside the cell, so the combined result of all these factors motivates them to do better in each

Theme Of Symbolism In Chronicle Of A Death Foretold
Of the many literary devices used by writers to make their work more powerful and layered,
symbolism is one of the most effective, and Gabriel Garcia Marquez s Chronicle of a Death
Foretold is a text that relies heavily on its use to develop its narrative. The novella recounts, in the
form of a pseudo journalistic reconstruction, the murder of Santiago Nasar in a small Colombian
town in the mid 1900 s. Through the course of the novel, Marquez employs various symbols to
reinforce key ideas, themes and techniques. This helps the novella break the monotony of a linear
storyline and unfolds the plot in a unique way that compounds both effect and meaning.
Santiago s dream sequence mentioned at the beginning of the novella is one of the most significant
symbols in the novella. He dreams that he was going ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After Santiago is murdered and his body is autopsied, it is revealed seven of the many wounds were
fatal and some of his organs were destroyed . Moreover, when Pedro plans to fatally stab
Santiago, he looks for his heart almost in his armpit, where pigs have it . Thus by likening
Santiago to a pig, Gabriel Marquez emphasizes the significance of the pig knives as a symbol. The
use of the pig knives as a murder weapon is also symbolic of the crassness of the decision to
murder Santiago. The novel states that the Vicario brothers had less than a day to plan the
execution of Santiago, since the were told of their sister s loss of virginity a short time before
three on the morning they killed Santiago Nassar. Earlier in the novel, it is also mentioned that the
brothers were known to slaughter the same hogs they raised, a fact that links to the idea that the
twins looked at Santiago as simply another hog to slaughter , and therefore they used the same
weapon to murder

The Assassination Of President Abraham Lincoln Essay
One of the most tragic moments throughout all American history in my opinion is the Assassination
of President Abraham Lincoln. With no surprise I am writing about certain event that occurred
leading up to, during, and after this unfortunate event. This historical event is clouded with
conspiracy but I will try to avoid specifics of that particular view. Abraham Lincolnwas born in a
little town located within Hardin Country, Kentucky on February 12, 1809
(www.whitehouse.gov/abrahamlincoln). He grew up dirt poor and in my opinion could be
considered a frontiers man just like his father was. His mother on the other hand passed away
when Lincoln was at a very young age. Lincoln was also in my opinion of great intelligence, hard
worker, and a very ambitious young man. He would farm and run a store in New Salem, Illinois
(www.whitehouse.gov). A little less known tale about him is that he was a very good wrestler
back in the day and received his nick name honest Abe for walking a library book several miles
to be returned. He met the love of his life May Todd after becoming a dynamic lawyer and had
four young boys. Sadly only one lived to see adult hood (www.history.com). Abraham Lincoln
became the 16th President of the United Statesof America in 1861. At this time the states where not
so united. As a matter of fact 13 of them had succeeded from the union in the same year President
Lincoln was elected (1861). The historical significance of this time was known as the

God Of Carnage Response
God of Carnage Response I saw the central idea of the play was how uncivilized we can be as
humans. Two parents whose children got into a dispute met to talk and got virtually nothing
accomplished. No one was empathetic with the others situation. The Novaks believed Alan and
Annette s son s behavior was caused by their neglect and was the base of the problem. The
Raleighs believed Michael and Veronica s son was too sheltered and the altercation was not a big
deal. For me there were no emotionally moving moments in the play as it was more on the side of
a comedy. The way the characters dressed was a production element that reinforced the central
theme. All four of the characters were dressed formally but did not act in that way for long. The

Mattress Vs Latex Research Paper
When looking for a mattress that can replace your old mattress, your three best choices are spring,
foam and latex mattress. The differences are so distinct that it will really take a bit of pondering to
figure out which mattress is the best choice.
Let us take a look at the pros and cons of using each mattress:
About Foam Mattress
The most popular form of foam mattress is the memory foam. This is a special kind of foam that
is sensitive to the heat of your body. This technology enables it to conform well to your body
resulting to better sleep minus the usual body aches and pains. This is actually the type of mattress
recommended for people constantly suffering from back aches and pains.
It offers a firm mattress comfort that can particularly support the lumbar area of your body. The
downside to using ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Its firmness has always been compared to memory foam, however, it uses less density so it is
slightly bouncier. There are numerous upsides to using this mattress. It does not use any kind of
chemical so it is good for those with suffering from chemical allergies. Also, it is inherently durable
but even made more durable because it is resistant to molds.
Latex is not good for people suffering with latex. However, there are also synthetic latex around
that mimics the comfort and support provided by 100% natural latex. Also, to give a chance to
latex sufferers to try this mattress, some companies remove the protein found in rubber tree sap as
this is the main reason why allergies are instigated.
About Spring
Spring mattresses occupy the biggest part of the mattress population. Most company use this
technology as this is the easiest to develop, not to mention, the cheapest. This is a good choice if
you want a heavenly kind of mattress feel. But make sure that you scrutinize closely the quality of
the mattress you are using.

Gertrude s Treatment Of Female Characters In Hamlet
In the contemporary world of today, women are allowed to express their feelings, thoughts and
they have unlimited amount of freedom, however during William Shakespeare s time women
were not allowed to act on stage as men were the ones who played the roles of women. In
William Shakespeare s play, Hamlet the female characters are characterized with very little roles,
however they directly or indirectly influence the actions by the men in their lives. Literary and
historical scholars conclude that women were not interested political, economic, or social equality
with men during this time in history. In the play the female characters are restricted in a patriarchal
society as they are portrayed firstly as weak, secondly as obedient and lastly as dependent. These
characters include, Gertrudewho is the queen of Denmark, and Ophelia who is the love interest of
Hamlet. The play revolves around the theme of revenge and how these women had a big influence
in the plot of the play. Firstly, Gertrude is one of the main characters in the... Show more content on

Walmart Smart Inventory System Essay
Arnold Zio
BUS 362 Spring, Miller
Wal Mart S.M.A.R.T System
I live close to a walmart in Burtonsville MD, so I decided to write this Paper on their Inventory
System. Wal mart, the wholesale retail monopoly, focused on developing an RFID based electronic
product code, or EPC. The electronic code would allow businesses to track shipments and inventory
automatically through a system of tags and sensors. It was a potential replacement for the manual
scanning of bar codes, a technology that itself revolutionized retail two decades earlier. Given the
nearly non existent cost of bar codes relative to RFID, several in the industry said, the EPC was a
solution in search of a problem. Wal Mart view RFID technology in their SMART system as a...

current system and processes. Wal Mart is testing LCD shelf tags from NCR that are powered and
controlled by infrared light units on the ceiling and can be changed in real time, concurrent with
changes at the point of sale registers.
The Strengths of The SMART Inventory System are, the actual database has to be enormous.
There are so many products that the Wal Mart keeps track of. All of which must be in the same
database because products they don t carry will still scan and give all the detailed information of
those Products. This is helpful because it allows people to return products from a Mega Wal Mart
that carries a much larger stock than a regular Wal Mart. Other Strengths are that the SMART
system is linked to the cash registers. When a product is sold, inventory is updated automatically.
On hand counts are updated and on some products they are reordered automatically, depending on
how many are left. With in addition to the RFID technology.
Wal mart uses smart tag sensors on garments to track better inventory controls, Wal Mart workers
will be able to quickly learn, which size of a particular brand product is missing, with the aim of
ensuring shelves are optimally stocked and inventory

The Tortilla Curtain By. Boyle
The Tortilla Curtain by T.C. Boyle is a novel that is praised with high regards, and by evaluating
the text by means of a rhetorical analysis, we as readers can fully appreciate the deeper meanings
that Boyle is trying to convey throughout the book. Through the use of language, Boyle is able to
communicate and interact with his readers by evoking responses to the given text that is being
presented. We begin to ask questions such as what is the situation, purpose, target audience, and
what claims are being made? Also, what appeals or strategies does the author use to establish his
credibility? These are all legitimate questions that because of
Boyle s strength as a writer, have credible answers. Therefore, the text that Boyle ... Show more

The purpose as to why Boyle writes is to address that the U.S. is a country that is comprised of
immigrants from throughout the world, and Boyle makes it clear that Mexican
Immigrants are no exception, despite the misinterpretations that the white middle class are led to
believe. Boyle makes use of this statement by using the character of Delaney Mossbacher, another
white middle classmen from the novel, to project what he is trying to convey to the reader. Delaney
argues to Jack that the U.S. is a country of immigrants, that they are the very heart and soul of the
nation and that not one person, including Jack, would be here if that was not the case (Boyle 101).
Despite his status as a white middle classmen like Jack, Delaney knows the reality of the situation
regarding immigrants in the U.S., and Boyle uses this character to convey that message to us, the
audience, to fully understand the significance of this information.
Therefore, Boyle s target demographic consist of people who are eager to learn about the realties
from both opposing sides: immigrants striving to achieve the American Dream and the white
middle class feeling threatened and reacting in numerous ways. Analyzing the predicaments that
both immigrants and the white middle class confront is valuable information to know, and Boyle
succeeds in doing so by capturing an audience of people who are

Proposed Ways to Improve Behaviour (1000 words)
One can argue that the potential to cause disruptive behaviour from the perspective of a student or a
group of students does not automatically result in disruptive or troublesome behaviour. Such
behaviour can be kept dormant, controlled, neutralised or changed over a period of time.
Keeping troublesome/disruptive behaviour dormant is not the ideal solution and although it has its
short term benefits, it may adversely affect the rapport between teacher and learners not a good
start. Abatement, enhancing or changing disruptive behaviour requires certain skills and so it is
hoped that by addressing the pre requisite, specifying an appropriate methodology, identification,
and selection of appropriate techniques a logical flow to this section is established.

Antoine Henri Jomini
The eighteenth and nineteenth centuries were turbulent eras generating several changes in the
way how commanders led the war. The world owes a debt to one man for interpreting and
recording his contributions to strategy and the art of war: Antoine Henri Jomini. The purpose of
this paper to explain why the Jomini s theories are a school of thoughts that remain adequate for
explaining warfare in the modern era. The importance of logistics, the acceptance of principles of
war, and the concept of the geometry of battlespace proposed by Jomini s theories are three broad
concepts that are still adequate for explaining in the modern era. Incorporating the logistics in the
planning process is a key task to achieve important militaryoutcomes. Clausewitz... Show more

Mallick argues that The Principles of War are the principles expressing the rules of military
thought and actions that serve as the permanent basis for combat doctrine. Ettrich mentioned
that to have a better understanding of how Jomini developed his principles of war creating a set
of thoughts that have remained relatively unaltered for approximately two centuries, it is
necessary to study his life, his intense studies of war, military career, and the circumstances that
shaped his tactical and strategic thinking. Jomini as the same way of other military philosophers,
tried to articulate his insights about of the art of war presenting his ideas through a list of
maxims or as a list of general truths whose application contributes to success in war, they may be
legitimately viewed, as the prototype of the modern principles of war . Jomini s maxims are the
closest thought to the modern principles of war. Without considering the fact that Jomini never
defined his concepts like general principles of war, nor did he provided precise details of the
fundamental principles he wrote, these have been adopted for many armies in the world. In
chapter six of Peter Paret s Makers of Modern Strategy: From Machiavelli to the Nuclear Age,
John Shy mentioned that many of the nineteenth centuries military leaders accepted Jomini s
maxims as valid principles. Ettrich recalls that historically, the Jomini s concepts of principles of
war were introduced to the United States in 1817 and were used initially at the US Military
Academy; these principles are still valid in the US Army doctrine. Weigley argues that during the
United States Civil War, military leaders from both sides embraced concepts and principles
learned while studying as contemporaries at the Military Academy prior to the rise and secession
of the Confederacy ; as a result, Union and Confederates leaders achieved

Consider Mass Syndication Without A Lead
Consider mass syndication without a lead Syndicated investment refers to investing in projects,
such as start ups, which are considered too risky for a single investor or investment firms.
Syndicated investments are joint investment opportunities and a good option for business
fundraising. While a mass syndication can also happen with a lead investor in charge of the

essentially appealing for multiple investors at any single time. With a mass syndication, your

When it comes to mass syndication without a lead, there are two crucial points you need to cover

There are two categories of violence in literature: the specific injury and the narrative violence.
Specific injury causes characters to visit on one another or on themselves. Narrative violence
cause the characters to cause harm in general. Chapter 12: Is That a Symbol? Chapter 12 is
about symbolism. The author says that not everybody will think a symbol will mean the same
thing and it won t. The symbol is whatever you think it means. Some writers make their symbols
direct, but most let you use your own imagination. Chapter 13: It s All Political Chapter 13 was
about how most writing is political. It was about how writers secretly put their political point of
views into their stories. Usually political writing is boring and vague. Some writing is more
political than others, but nearly all writing is political on some level. Chapter 14: Yes, She s a
Christ Figure, Too Chapter 14 is about how almost everything, in some form, is a Christ figure.
The chapter gives a list to relate characters to. The list is 1. crucified, wounds in the hands, feet,

water, wine 6. thirty three years of age when last seen 7. employed as a carpenter 8. known to use

Running Head: Exclusionary Rule Evaluation 1 Exclusionary Rule Evaluation Paper University of
Phoenix CJA 364 Abstract The following paper will analyze the rationale and purpose of the
exclusionary rule and identify exceptions to the exclusionary rule. In this analysis, it will state the
costs and benefits of the exclusionary rule, as well as alternative remedies to the rule. The author
will state their position on the exclusionary rule and provide support for their position. The author
will also include support from two peer reviewed sources. The Fourth Amendment to The
Constitution of the United States reads:... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though the search warrant was invalid at the time of the search and seizures officers
obtained evidence in good faith thinking they were acting on a valid search warrant. The evidence
obtained under this exception is admissible. An independent source doctrine is evidence obtained
in an unlawful search and seizure may later on be admissible after a valid seizure is obtained, the
same evidence would be considered admissible due to this exception. The inevitable source doctrine
states that evidence would have been discovered without the unlawful search and seizure, hence
inevitable . Attenuation doctrine states when evidence is challenged and an unlawful search and
seizure is too isolated and weakened it can be admissible in court. Evidence admissible for
impeachment states the court can use tainted evidence or illegally obtained evidence to impeach
and prevent perjury in court but not to show guilt in a trial. Qualified immunity is a rule more for
defendants who believe their Miranda rights have been violated due to an unreasonable search
conducted by law enforcement. The rule protects government officials against lawsuits. Finally the
fruit of the poisonous tree states any evidence gathered from an illegal search may not be
admissible in court and must be excluded from trial. The exclusionary rule covers many different
exceptions to what deemed admissible to court with the violation of the Fourth Amendment. The
two rules that can be adjusted in the

Rockefeller Center Research Paper
Following a decade of a booming economy during the Roaring Twenties, New York suffered a
period of economic collapse, which began with the Wall Street Crash on Black Tuesday in 1929,
and continued with the Great Depression. The 1930s was a decade that was mostly consumed with
financial depression that left most of New York City in shambles. Many Americans did not see the
Depression coming, which resulted in mass panic that had a substantial effect on culture at the
time. New York City, was at the heart of the Depression, was also as a place of high architectural
advancement. Even in a crisis of economic failure, buildings such as the Chrysler Building, the
Empire State Building, and the Rockefeller Center were all colossal structures that were built that

Its distinctive architecture, outstanding tenants, and numerous amounts of facilities and services
separate it from other buildings created during that period. The Rockefeller Center reminds
developers and designers that the design of individual buildings did not need to be exquisite to
be functional and an improvement to the city. The Rockefeller Center was an innovator in
providing a place complete with service facilities and shops for its tenants and visitors. It was
designed with users in mind to attract people 24 hours a day for business, shopping, sightseeing,
and for dining, theater or just plain promenading on its tree shaded esplanades and flower filled
plazas. The users of the Center could be credited for the success of the Center, as they are vital for
the practicality of what was envisioned the Center would be used for. This was different as other
buildings during this time were built to house as many tenants as possible explaining why architects
strived to construct buildings as tall as possible. Architects of these other buildings did not take
urban planning to the extent that the Rockefeller Center

Limited Liability Companies ( Llcs ) Essay
Limited Liability Companies (LLCs) Rationale. The advent of the limited liability company in the
1990 s came about primarily to promote small business start ups by providing substantial asset
protection, simpler rules, and favorable state and local tax treatments (Millon, 2007; Riles
Whitlock, 2003: Vandervoort, 2004). LLCs are also typically easier and less expensive to form and
manage than a corporationand quickly became the entity of choice (Hopson Hopson, 2014).
Similarities to corporations. Like corporations, LLCs are separate legal entities, and as with the
shareholders of corporations, the members of LLCs are provided significant asset protection from
creditors and other stakeholders (Riles Whitlock, 2003) by limiting the liability to the amount of the
capital contribution (Albert, 2015). This shifts the risk of failure and insolvency from the members
to the creditors (Millon, 2007).
Differences from corporations. Many of the differences between LLCs and corporations have
been the crux in the area of litigation, the first being the lack of corporate formalities. Unlike a
corporation, an LLC can be managed by its members or appointed managers and does not require
periodic meetings. Although every state now has LLC legislation (Albert, 2015) which impose
default fiduciary duties, these duties can be modified or eliminated altogether by the members of
the LLC (Raju Remming, 2012). As opposed to corporations following FASB ASC 105 Generally

Unity And Low Lying Regions Genesis Miranda English 3A Per 2 Junior Position Research Paper Ms.Johnson December 22, 2016 Unity to End Global Warming Islands and low lying regions are being flooded and masses of native people have to migrate into higher areas. The natives from low lying impoverished equatorial areas are being faced with unwanted migration. The sea levels are rising due to global warming, thus causing a chain reaction. The kiribati people who live in a low lying developing country have to deal with this issue every day. Little Anna, a girl who lives on the island, prays each night that when she wakes she does not have to deal with the rising water next to her home. But, it was not until recent years that climate change has been a concern. Global warming is a tragedy waiting to happen. Climate change is real and has costs of not only animals in the wild, but human lives as well. In Market based Solutions To Climate Change by Richard L. Sandor says In the poles, pieces of ice the size of Singapore are falling off of glaciers (689). Like a terrorist attack it will come suddenly, bringing fire, floods, and other natural disasters. Rising sea levels will cause a horde of people from impoverished communities and migrate into areas on higher ground. Therefore, climate change can be reduced by government involvement, alternative energy and control over greenhouse gases. Alternative energy could play a significant role in contributing to a solution on climate change. In How to Break the Climate Change Deadlock by Naomi Oreskes the Article states pollution from coal causes disease, damages buildings and contributes to climate change (2). • 4. The Importance Of Sexual Education 1.Sex education also known as high quality teaching and/or learning about various sex topics relating to sex and sexual activities should be taught by schools. Schools teaching adolescents not only allow them to have a more depth understand of the topic, but allow adolescents to explore different values, aspects, and beliefs about the topic. Schools teaching sexual education allow children to learn, while gaining specific skills that are manage their own sexual health, relationships and life style. Intercourse is a natural part of life, with or with out sexual education in school individuals may engage in it. Even if an adolescent isn t engaging in sexual behaviors, contraceptives, anatomy, and sexual topics should be discussed. Instead of children not having any knowledge of the topic and explore on their own, the school system should be responsible in making sure adolescents have a understanding of these topics. Despite sexual education being taught in our school systems, although 47% of high school students have engaged in sexual intercourserates of sexual behavior have been slightly declining since 1991 (Dolgin, 2001). Schools teach sexual education in various ways through comprehensive which explores various topics including safe sex and contraceptives (Dolgin, 2001). • 5. My Writing Process Analysis Attending Davidson Fine Arts High School, I was constantly tasked with the challenge of writing many papers such as literary analysis, rhetorical device analysis, and my least favorite poetry analysis. Each paper I wrote during high school felt the same as the last one simply because I never felt as though I pressured myself to progress or develop my writingprocess, since my papers were academically efficient. While writing in high school, I usually viewed a paper as a whole without trying to understand how I went from a blank screen to a 1000 word paper. In addition, a paper was never meant to question me as a writer or to display the most important thing I wanted to be shown about myself through my writing. However, upon entering English... This process reflects how the political system works in America as well because each running official or policy maker is trying to convince the populous that their ideas will generate the greatest amount of benefits, while also fixing preexisting problems. English 1102 gave me a different outlook on how to view not only my writing, but also my decision making as I am just beginning my journey as an adult and how each decision I make will directly impact my future and those around me. In addition, through the actually writing portion of completing essay, it has taught me to be sure that each decision made leads to forward progression and not trying to address an issue using an old technique, which didn t work by redressing the technique to make it seem like new. For example while writing my second essay, I had to use a scholarly source in order to strengthen my argument without repeating the information already given in the article, but instead, use the article to present my own claim and provide textual evidence with the analysis to explain my argument. After the formation of the essay, the final part comes the revision process, which is the most important part of not only the writing process but also being to succeed in life as ... • 6. The Book of 1 Samuel Essay The Book of 1 Samuel The book of 1 Samuel, a part of the Old Testament, sparks the dawn of the United Kingdom of Israel by telling of its first king, Saul. Samuel is one of the first talked about pre literary prophets in the bible perhaps because he anointed the first king of the United Kingdom. He is a prophet by definition because he possessed the ability to converse with the almighty Yahweh. Samuel and Saul are key players to the rise of the kingdom but Saul runs into trouble and disobeys God, which leads him to his own inevitable demise. In 1 Samuel 28: 1 25 Yahweh guides Saul to his death because he has outright deceived and disobeyed God. This passage sets an example to obey Yahweh; otherwise he will inflict punishment ... Because of his realized hypocrisy, he disguised himself and visited the medium his servants had sought out in Endor. He told the medium to call upon Samuel and so she immediately suspected that he is Saul. She knew that her work was extremely illegal by Saul s court, so she became afraid until he reassured her that he was permitting the act in that occasion. She then called upon Samuel. Samuel apparently took over the medium s body or appears in some other way to Saul. So Saul did what he came there for and asked for advise on his latest predicament. The irritated and disturbed Samuel explained that Yahweh is taking away his kingdom and giving it to David because of his disobedience of not carrying out the Lord s punishment against the Amalekites (according to Mc Carter the dead had some way of knowing God s plans and had access to them). So, Saul fell to the ground in anguish from the news and lack of energy caused by fasting. The medium quickly attended to him and forced him to eat. Saul and his servants then left. And there the chapter ends. Yahweh took the kingdom from Saul because Saul did not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Moreover, the photos on the left side depicted the traditional Asian people and places, in contrast with those on the right side, which seemed to be more modern due to some western elements presented in the pictures. Yokohama was one of the seven treaty ports opened by the Kanagawa Treaty in 1854 and Harris Treaty in 1858. Under the intimidation of America s steam and coal warships, Japan had no choice but ended its close country policy and gave the U.S., later also Britain, the Netherlands, Russia, and France, the access to the seven treaty ports. After a decade, when the globetrotter tourists visited Japan and pressed the camera shutter, we can see how those treaty ports, especially Yokohama, were influenced by the West. Picture 2 depicted a main street of Yokohama. On the left side of the street was a printing office while on the right side of the street, there was a Cigar store. Cigar was clearly not a native product of Japan, but something introduced from the West. Another noteworthy detail was that the shop signs of the two stores were both written in English instead of Japanese. Picture 4 was a portrait of a railway station. A beautiful young woman steps down from the horse drawn carriage, one foot touching down onto the rough ground outside her second home. As she looks around, she cannot help soaking in all the wonderful scenery surrounding her. The fabulously large trees too tall to climb perfectly blanketing the hillside in the distance. The sky clear, blue and bright with a few lingering perfectly formed cotton clouds. The trees just starting to turn from their deep green to shades of orange, yellow and brown. The grazing grass that surrounds still the brightest shade of green imaginable. There are many at this entrance of the castle, standing tall and at attention to welcome this young woman home. She feels as though she has been absent for too long. Everyone looks so different, and she feels they must think the same of her. She was just a young lady of thirteen when she was sent away in hiding, but now she is seventeen and has matured into a young woman. She moves slowly taking her first few steps, and approaches the handsome young man in front of her. Their eyes connect with one another, and the connection is not to be broken despite every distraction surrounding the two. They are both remembering their younger days. My Proposed Plan For Life Holley Lentner Events My Proposed Plan for Life in College While attending the University of North Florida for my first semester, I have learned several new things about myself, like empathy, through classes like Honors Colloquium. This class, in particular, has provided me with experiences that will aid me further along in life, like our service projects. Additionally, through the assignments of this course I have come to realize the skills and abilities that are in need improvement in order for me to be successful at the occupation I intend to pursue. My aspiration in life is to earn an honest living by providing health care to those in need of such attention. With this career path, I believe that I will have both an exciting and rewarding occupation. Helping those in need by promoting health and preventing disease is something that I found interesting ever since I was little. For when I was younger, I was in the hospital quite often for countless reasons, and knowing that I was going to be perfectly okay lead my impressionable self to gain the utmost respect for those in the healthcare business and eventually lead me to pursue a career in the field. Ultimately, I feel that this profession will allow for me to contribute to society and in doing so, I remain confident that I will learn a great deal from an occupation in health care. • 11. Symbols In The Great Gatsby And Citizen Kane The Great Gatsby and Citizen Kane are both stories in which the main character wants to get back to times before where they presently are. In both stories they have an object that symbolizes a time and person they wish to be. For Gatsby it is the green light and for Kane it is Rosebud. What I want to explore is what happens when theses symbols are no longer symbols, but memories. First I want to talk about Gatsby, in the book the green light symbolizes Daisy, which we find out in the fifth chapter when Nick and Daisy are at Gatsby s house after he has showed them all of his shirts. This is important because for Gatsby, Daisy is a physical embodiment of a time when he was happier, and he wants to go back to that time therefore he has to attain Daisy. The reason the green light represented Daisy was because it was the closest Gatsby could get to her from the other side of the bay it was something he could look at every night and reminisce on what he wants to make his future. Consequently, when Gatsby is telling Daisy and Nick how you can typically see the green light on her dock the significance of the light vanishes and he becomes absorbed at the idea of the death of light to where he doesn t notice the physical embodiment of his happy time is in his reach. For example, it s like setting the goal of getting into UT so you hang a poster in your room to represent the idea, and then you go for a visit but the whole time you re thinking of the poster because it was all you had ... The FAA generated the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems (NPIAS). The NPIAS modernized and replaced the 1970 National Airport System Plan. The NPIAS focuses on the metric of enplanements, the number of boarding passengers at an airport, to aid in the delineation among airports categorized as a Commercial Service (Primary), General Aviation (GA), or Reliever Airport (Young, p. 11). The reality was quite the contrary, that the Angry 150 had valid opinions, as did their opposition. As previously said, Barbara Bush was invited to be the 1990 commencement speaker because she placed second in a classwide vote. Her popularity indicates that a sizable amount of Wellesley students thought her visit would be beneficial. The class president, Julie Porter, said, I support Mrs. Bush coming here. She s a very interesting and successful lady who lived in a different time. She didn t have the options we have. I think women should be evaluated not on how much money they make, but whether they re happy. Porter s remark brings to mind a very important concept, one that Tyrell felt the petitioners were overlooking: that the progress in women s rights did not mean the same thing for every woman. Too many of the soon to be graduates, Barbara Bush was an icon, someone to be admired. They believed she had the right to be their commencement speaker, just as much as Maya Angelou (1982) and Gloria Steinem (1986) had. In the study of American history, the 1980s and 1990s are considered a time of turbulence. Bush touches on this when she says, These These are exciting times. Here are 5 of the most common mistakes that turn a potential flip into a colossal flop: 1.Lack of Money Real estate can be a very expensive proposition. It begins with the cost of acquisition, adds in the cost of repair and remodel, and takes into consideration the amount of time needed to resell and recoup costs. There are also capital gains taxes after the sale. One of the biggest mistakes a flipper can make is to underestimate the amount of money the project will take to get off the ground. 2.Lack of Time Renovating and selling houses can take ... • 17. A Brief Note On Automobile And Automobile Insurance Essay These are many different types of automobile insurances. One type is Comprehensive Auto Insurance this applies to damages with your automobile should you be involved in an accident not involving another car, a roll over, or any other similar type problem. Please remember that there are other automobile insurances that would be more appropriate in dealing with accidents that involve other automobiles. For every accident involving only one automobile, comprehensive is the kind of automobile insurances you need to have. Besides crashes, this kind of automobile insurances coverage also covers auto theft. Let s not forget no matter what happened to your vehicle, someone needs to pay for the repair and the parts. This of the many types of automobile insurances covers other situations as well like destruction from fires, floods, and times when you have a car accident involving a deer or other animal. Also covered under this type of coverage are the following situations: rioting that causes damage to your car, raining hail, shattered windows, an object being flung at your car during a tornado or other wind intensive storm. Taking comprehensive coverage for an old car is not a good idea. However, certain items aren t covered that make a big difference to some customers for instance removable electronics: radios, CB radios, scanning monitor receivers, and laptops are all devices not covered in the package. • 19. The Pros And Cons Of The Holocaust Holocaust prisoners left, together, in cold dark water for hours at a time. Were their punishments for nothing? Or did their suffering somehow help us today? Between the years of 1939 and 1945, also known as the Holocaust; the Nazi s took test subjects from groups of people to perform procedures and experiments on. Unfortunately, all of these so called important tests were exceptionally inhumane. A few examples of the procedures performed were leaving prisoners in freezing cold water for three hours straight or only allowing them to drink pure ocean water for two weeks straight. For the most part, what those German doctors did was unnecessary due to the fact that the outcome was highly predictable. But over the course of the intense studies, a few valid and useful tidbits of information did surface. Some of the researchfindings from Nazi medical testings during the Holocaust continue to benefit today s modern medical development. One of the many humanexperiments that the Nazi s performed on Holocaust prisoners was the cold water experiment. Prisoners were immersed into tanks of ice water for hours at a time, (Cohen, et. al). The purpose of this at the time was to find out how long German pilots could survive in the North Sea if their plane was to be shot down (Cohen, et. al). Unfortunately, many of the prisoners died as result of being left in for an absurd amount of time (likely close to three hours). However, the information that was recorded from this specific ... • 20. A Woman s Best Quality Eggs A woman is at her most fertile when she is in the ages 20 to 24. Infertility is generally defined as the inability to conceive after one year of unprotected sex. At the age of 30 fertility starts to gradually decline, the chance of successfully conceiving each cycle drops from 22% to just 6 to 8% between 30 and 40 years of age. This big drop in fertility is due to the ageing of a female s eggs. When born women have around a million eggs, by the time they reach their mid thirties this number will have dropped to around 25,000. Unfortunately, a woman s best quality eggs will likely have been used up when younger, meaning the ones left over are of a worse quality and therefore less fertile. Women also release fewer eggs when they get older. In terms of successful IVF treatment (which is more often used by older women), for women under 35 years the success rate is around 27%, but for women over 40 years old that drops to as low as 6%. The graph to the left shows the general trend in the drop in fertility, backing up what was said earlier, and further backed up by Benjamin Younger, the executive director of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. He states that fertility continues to decline after the age of 35 but takes a nosedive at the age of 38. Clearly fertility is something to be worried about, and looking at these stats it is well worth getting pregnant younger in order to have a better chance of getting pregnant and also having good quality eggs still. I have learned so much about the organization as a solid partner of Tufts NEMC during one of my Strategic and Planning Management classes. Similar to Tufts NEMC, the Floating Hospital for Children has a rich history as it was established in 1894 as a hospitalship, sailing in BostonHarbor. Back then, people believed that fresh air was the most favorable alternative in treating ailing children. It has continued to provide medical care to sick children while cruising Boston Harbor for the next three decades. It has then upgraded its facilities and expanded amenities to having an inpatient service and onboard research facility. However, at some point in the spring of 1927, the floating hospital was ruined by fire. As luck would have it, none had been on board. Four years later, another facility was built this time on land providing a comprehensive service pediatric facility with ongoing research activities. In 1965, the facility has officially merged with Tufts Medical Center. Tufts is the oldest permanent medical facility in the nation. Samuel Adams and Paul Revere originally established it at the Boston Dispensary in 1796. Despite the former s strong historical foundation, Floating Hospital for Children has kept hold of its character and celebrated tradition. • 23. 10.4 Disadvantages Of Cellular Layout 10.4 COMPARISON OF INFORMATION FLOW In existing layout the production line is very long, starting from preparatory to the end of assembly. Because of this, communication and information flow is difficult and for each and every thing supervisor has to walk around the line frequently. In case of new layout (cellular layout) the information flow is effective and quick. Because, the group of people who are in the same cell, works in compact area where each operator is in direct contact with other operator of the cell and they know each other s job inside the cell. This makes information flow fast and accurate. Whereas this cannot be achieved in long assembly line; where one operator is in contact with only two operators (one operator before and one operator after his operation) so neither he can give any suggestion nor he knows the issues of other operation i.e. workers are not participating in each other s work, rather working independently. 10.5 COMPARISON OF REWORK LEVEL The rework level has been decreased by 80% over existing trends. In existing production, the rework level is approximately 5% but after implementation of recommended layout the rework level falls to 1%. The main reason for rework reduction is due to reduction in WIP and balanced work cells. Due to low ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 24. Theme Of Symbolism In Chronicle Of A Death Foretold Of the many literary devices used by writers to make their work more powerful and layered, symbolism is one of the most effective, and Gabriel Garcia Marquez s Chronicle of a Death Foretold is a text that relies heavily on its use to develop its narrative. The novella recounts, in the form of a pseudo journalistic reconstruction, the murder of Santiago Nasar in a small Colombian town in the mid 1900 s. Through the course of the novel, Marquez employs various symbols to reinforce key ideas, themes and techniques. This helps the novella break the monotony of a linear storyline and unfolds the plot in a unique way that compounds both effect and meaning. Santiago s dream sequence mentioned at the beginning of the novella is one of the most significant symbols in the novella. He dreams that he was going ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Moreover, when Pedro plans to fatally stab Santiago, he looks for his heart almost in his armpit, where pigs have it . Thus by likening Santiago to a pig, Gabriel Marquez emphasizes the significance of the pig knives as a symbol. The use of the pig knives as a murder weapon is also symbolic of the crassness of the decision to murder Santiago. The novel states that the Vicario brothers had less than a day to plan the execution of Santiago, since the were told of their sister s loss of virginity a short time before three on the morning they killed Santiago Nassar. Earlier in the novel, it is also mentioned that the brothers were known to slaughter the same hogs they raised, a fact that links to the idea that the twins looked at Santiago as simply another hog to slaughter , and therefore they used the same weapon to murder ... With no surprise I am writing about certain event that occurred leading up to, during, and after this unfortunate event. This historical event is clouded with conspiracy but I will try to avoid specifics of that particular view. Abraham Lincolnwas born in a little town located within Hardin Country, Kentucky on February 12, 1809 (www.whitehouse.gov/abrahamlincoln). He grew up dirt poor and in my opinion could be considered a frontiers man just like his father was. His mother on the other hand passed away when Lincoln was at a very young age. Lincoln was also in my opinion of great intelligence, hard worker, and a very ambitious young man. He would farm and run a store in New Salem, Illinois (www.whitehouse.gov). A little less known tale about him is that he was a very good wrestler back in the day and received his nick name honest Abe for walking a library book several miles to be returned. He met the love of his life May Todd after becoming a dynamic lawyer and had four young boys. Sadly only one lived to see adult hood (www.history.com). Abraham Lincoln became the 16th President of the United Statesof America in 1861. At this time the states where not so united. As a matter of fact 13 of them had succeeded from the union in the same year President Lincoln was elected (1861). The historical significance of this time was known as the ... Jomini as the same way of other military philosophers, tried to articulate his insights about of the art of war presenting his ideas through a list of maxims or as a list of general truths whose application contributes to success in war, they may be legitimately viewed, as the prototype of the modern principles of war . The host of the video interviewed several different companies. Every company he interviewed was an American company that either purchased a new line of manufacturing or moved one of their plants from another country to America. The Mississippi State University speaker stated that America had a net lost 200,000+ a year and is now up that much or a little more a year. The oldest hat manufacture in the U.S. bought another brand that has been made inChina for years. Between China and NAFTA American manufacturing has really been distressed. I found the video very interesting. I didn t know that American manufacturing had gotten so competitive with China. I think it would be great to gain some manufacturing jobs in America. New Albany used to be in the biggest furniture making area in the U.S. When NAFTA and China started taking jobs it became a ghost town. Now that jobs are coming back it would be good to see it thriving again. The labor force in New Albany are very skilled in furniture building, so a furniture company would be perfect in that area. I realize that, right or wrong, everything is about a dollar in the end. It has been my experience in the timber and agriculture industry that American made products are much more durable than Chinese products. A lot of their products come out of the box with defects. Customer service has basically went down the drain since the outsourcing of manufacturing as well. The aluminum fan plant mentioned that they were required to have some extent of customer service. That was a big reason the reshored that company to the United States. American workers created a better product and were a lot better at trouble shooting than Chinese workers. I was glad to see the hat company come back to the states as well. In this geographical region, textiles and fabric were a huge part ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Consider Mass Syndication Without A Lead Consider mass syndication without a lead Syndicated investment refers to investing in projects, such as start ups, which are considered too risky for a single investor or investment firms. Syndicated investments are joint investment opportunities and a good option for business fundraising. While a mass syndication can also happen with a lead investor in charge of the round, it is possible to opt for a mass syndication without a lead. This means that you are essentially appealing for multiple investors at any single time. With a mass syndication, your business will receive multiple, smaller investments and won t often have to provide investors any say in the business direction and day to day running. Therefore, mass syndication without a lead can be a great way to secure investment without losing control of your business. Because investors still get to enjoy the same economic deal as more conventional angle investors, investors are increasingly interested in this form of investing. The right terms and valuation When it comes to mass syndication without a lead, there are two crucial points you need to cover before you start knocking on the doors of investors. First, you must cover the terms for fundraising clearly. You want to approach investors with a clear strategy and plan since you are looking for multiple investors, you cannot start making up the terms as you go on. Define the term sheet clearly and make sure it is the same for each investor. This will bring ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 48. Limited Liability Companies ( Llcs ) Essay Limited Liability Companies (LLCs) Rationale. The advent of the limited liability company in the 1990 s came about primarily to promote small business start ups by providing substantial asset protection, simpler rules, and favorable state and local tax treatments (Millon, 2007; Riles Whitlock, 2003: Vandervoort, 2004). LLCs are also typically easier and less expensive to form and manage than a corporationand quickly became the entity of choice (Hopson Hopson, 2014). Similarities to corporations. Like corporations, LLCs are separate legal entities, and as with the shareholders of corporations, the members of LLCs are provided significant asset protection from creditors and other stakeholders (Riles Whitlock, 2003) by limiting the liability to the amount of the capital contribution (Albert, 2015). This shifts the risk of failure and insolvency from the members to the creditors (Millon, 2007). Differences from corporations. Many of the differences between LLCs and corporations have been the crux in the area of litigation, the first being the lack of corporate formalities. Unlike a corporation, an LLC can be managed by its members or appointed managers and does not require periodic meetings. Although every state now has LLC legislation (Albert, 2015) which impose default fiduciary duties, these duties can be modified or eliminated altogether by the members of the LLC (Raju Remming, 2012).
