is involved with health care, education, natural resources and road regulations. The significance
of this level is second to Federal government, but should not be ignored. This level controls entire

My Family Is Not The Typical Caucasian Family Dynamic
As with any family, ours is not the typical Caucasian family dynamic. We began with my
husband as the traditional breadwinner while I was finishing my college education. It was
planned that we both would be working in careers before we discovered I was pregnancy with
our first son. Three months later my spouse would suffer a great tragedy and was no longer able
to walk, much less work. I would have to take on the role of not only breadwinner, but also
caregiver and mother within the next year. Our familydoes not have the duel career supporting
parents as suggested in the text regarding our ethnic statistics.
Some similarities that our family has had with our African American ethnic families is that of the
maintaining and strong ties to our extended family, as stated in our text. Our families have often

I think this album is marvelous for a few reasons, one being her lyrics. The lyrics express

when she wasn t singing her lyrics, the sounds she made within her songs expressed the mood.
Her voice glints with possibility: tart, smoky, ready to flirt or sob, and capable of the jazzy
timing of a Dinah Washington or the declamation of soul singers like Martha Reeves and Carla

Being Jewish during the Holocaust must be terrifying. Overcoming all odds of being put into a
ghetto guarded by a Gestapo and being transferred into a concentration camp to be put into intense
labor is pure luck, but not for Vladek Spiegelman. In Art Spiegelman s Graphic Novel Maus, a
comic book not only about Vladek s first hand experience through the Holocaustbut also a
relationship of a father and son. This relationship is an important narrative all through Maus, and
this influences the feeling of guilt. Two different kinds of guilt are presented in this book: a
familial guilt, and the survivor s guilt.
In Maus, a specific relevance is a familial guilt that connects to the family. Artie s feeling of not

known such terror...chest was so tight...could barely breathe (Page 254) the reader is saddened
to know the traumatic physical pain the character had to go through, and that s not even taking
into account the dreadful emotional distress. Maria Teresa can be admittedly be described as a
weak person because she could not handle the horrible conditions the guards were putting her
through. On top of that, she mentions that the pain felt like her spirit [was] snapping loose,
soaring above [her] body and looking down at the scene (Page 255). The fact that she bring up
the actions of things snapping loose and the act of looking down emphasizes how broken Maria
Teresa feels. The snapping could be a reference to her sanity and peace breaking away little by
little. And the act of looking down is usually a sign of shame, it could be a sign that Maria Teresa
looks down upon herself and dislikes what she has become, an extremely fragile human
