Analysis Of The Persistence Of Memory By Salvador Dali
Surrealism is a 20th century art and literature movement that pursued the creative potential of the
unconscious mind. Surrealism has been around for over a hundred years and the movement
consisted of many talented artists that are still relevant today. One of the most mysterious, yet
talented, surrealist painters of the 20th century was Salvador Dali. He was known for his bizarre
paintings during his time as an artist. Dali s most famous work of art was created in 1931 and
called The Persistence of Memory. This painting uses components such as color, contrast of light
and dark, composition, background, repetition, and symbolism to create a compelling and deeper
meaning within the artwork. The Persistence of Memory depicts a dream state... Show more content

The hidden meaning of color is an essential element of art. Simple principals involving color can
be applied to art and cause an impact on how a viewer sees it. Color has been used to evoke
certain emotions or create a specific message in art for centuries. Different colors convey
different moods; cool colors can bring the mind a calming effect while warm colors can bring
the mind a feeling of happiness. Dali used color as a tool in all of his art to either artistically
show his emotions or allow his viewers to feel a specific mood. In the painting The Persistence
of Memory, Dali used a faint light blue color and a pale yellow to create the horizon of the
painting. While painting this horizon, Dali s target was to convey a calm yet joyful mood. The
yellow undertones represent light. It creates a feeling of hope and happiness in the painting. The
light hearted feeling the color gives off resembles the feeling of optimism and mellowness one
feels within a pleasant dream. While dreaming, colors subconsciously having a meaning behind
them. The faint yellow and blue colors in the painting seem unreal as they blend with the ground,
but they give the viewer, or the dreamer, a feeling of comfort. Dark and light have always
represented two differing forces of nature, whether it is moral and unmoral, happiness and despair,
or love and hate. Light is an energy that

Whiplash Injury Essay
Many a times when you are involved in an automobile accident, you do not suffer from any
visible injuries. Most of the injuries are soft tissue injuries that tend to heal on their own and are
often neglected. One such soft tissue injury is the whiplash injury. Whiplash injury is a generic
term that encompasses the various types of neck sprains and strains. As majority of the injury is
to the muscles, the damage is not visible even on the x rays. Most of these injuries heal within a
specific period of time, but if the symptoms persist then it is considered as chronic pain. If you
feel that your pain is due to the accident, then you can file for compensation with the help of an

American Education System Faulty
It is a well known fact that Americans, in comparison to other developed nations worldwide, lags
in academic achievement as evidenced by various international assessments. The results of such
assessments have led many to question the reasons behind it is the American education system
faulty, is the population simply too large to fully educate, or is it the lack of motivation in all
parties involved? Though these aspects are all likely to have played a role in the educational lag,
the underlying reason for America s lagging academic achievement may well lie in its highly
diverse population and social culture within the schools, which may not particularly foster the kind
of social support necessary for success in an academic setting. While this... Show more content on

To get a sense for how low America ranks, it was found in a 2009 PISA study that the United States
ranks 25th out of 33 countries on the exam, where countries such as Japan, South Korea, and
Finland score consistently near the top (Sparapani et al, 2014). Such results make it clear that there
is a significant difference between these nations and the US. Namely, one of the largest differences
between America and other nations participating in the PISA exam is cultural diversity. In fact,
nations that rank higher on the PISA exam tend to have smaller, more culturally homogenous
populations with the majority of citizens holding similar views and cultural expectations of their
educational system. By contrast, America celebrates its high cultural diversity, which places unique
burdens on schools when considered in an educational context. Significant inequities within the
American culture stem from its cultural diversity, and inspire implicit disagreements as to how
education should be handled in America. For example, Laura Gonzalez (2013), an assistant
professor with the department of Counseling and Educational development at the University of
North Carolina, notes that the idea of respeto in Latino communities, which refers to the high
esteem and respect for elders and professionals within the community, is highly valued. As a result
of these values, Latino families are less likely than other ethnicities to report potential problems to
the school (Bower Griffin, 2011). In this context, the family, who may be recent immigrants without
the greatest grasp of the American educational system, tends view their role as being in the home.
Instead, they trust the teacher to do their job while their children are at school, and choose not to
interfere as a way of respecting the teacher s

Civil Engineering Purpose Statement
Statement of Purpose It is certainly true that, in a developing country like Nepal, after completing
high school education, students opt to pursue either medical or engineering degree with a hope that
they will enhance their economic status with high paid jobs. However, my affinity for mathematics
and science swayed me towards civil engineering. Ever since my high school education, I was
fascinated about landmarks such a lofty Itaipu Dam, Kansai Airport, and those of Indian engineers
who skillfully designed the metro system and mitigated the problems faced due to traffic congestion
in such a densely populated country. Upon completion of civil engineering from Tribhuwan
University, I was ambivalent about pursuing MS in Civil Engineering. I was... Show more content

The round robin is a livestock show at the Brown County Fair where kids 7th grade and older
show a variety of different animals. It s a large showmanship contest where a person is judged on
how they show the animal. My best friend had signed me up for it. I signed you and Abby up for
the round robin. she said.
Ugh, I complained, I m terrible at showmanship.
Well too bad. she laughed.
This year had a new twist to the contest. We had to show beef, sheep, swine, and rabbits, but we
couldn t show our own animals. Abby, Mikayla, and I walked around the barns to find animals to
show. We went to beef first. Hey Brooke, can we show three of your cows for round robin? we
asked in unison.
Of course. They re all pretty tame.
Thanks! We practice for about 30 minutes and then moved to our next animals. We didn t have to
practice with sheep and swine because we already know how to show them, so we went to rabbits,
Hey Winston, can we show your rabbits for round robin?
Yeah, you can have the 3 on the end. He said.
Thanks, we ll come by later to practice. After we got our animals and practiced, we got ready for
the show.
Beef was up first and I was terrified. Cows are much

Pyrolytic Oil Project Report
In modern years, consumption of waste is the most significant one before disposing to the land.
There is attention in the growth of alternative technologies for recycling waste tyres. The recycling
of tyres using pyrolysis is an attractive means to deal with this problem. The present work focused
on to increase the properties of the pyrolytic oil including elemental composition, higher heating
value(HHV),viscosity, flash point, density and distillation were find out using IS standards and

The waste to energy skill is explored to development the possible materials in waste which are
biomass, plastic and rubber tire to be oil. The bulk of waste tyres are disposed in landfills, ensuing
in a sort of troubles such as taking up huge quantity of more and more precious landfill space and
unintentional fires resulting in highly toxic emissions such as nitrogen dioxide (NO2), sulphur
dioxide (SO2), hydrogen sulphide (H2S), carbon monoxide (CO) and hazardous polycyclic
aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) [2 4]. A variety of strategies have been planned as choices to
waste tyre managing, all planning at tyre reprocess. Waste tyres can regrettably not be recycled
in traditional ways such as glass, metal or plastic by thaw out to attain raw material for new
products. This is as a consequence of the compound nature of tyres, which consist of steel,
rubber, carbon black, ash, fillers, etc. [5]. One more snag is that the polymers in the tyres are
cross linked, and these bonds cannot be chemically broken down simply [6]. Pyrolysis is distinct
as the method by which materials are thermally degraded by subjection to high temperature in the
lack of oxygen [7]. The pyrolysis process is effectual in the recycling of waste materials, counting
waste tyres, and thus contributes to decrease the ecological impact of waste tyres [8]. The
pyrolysis process yields three main products i.e., a gas, liquid and solid [9]. The

The flowmap denoted $phi_{t,t_{0}}in Diff(R^{N})$ where $Diff(R^{N})$ denotes the group of
diffeomorphisms of $R^{N}$ is defined as a map that takes the initial solution, that is the solution
at $t_{0}$ to the solution at any time $t$, this can be expressed mathematically by
egin{center}
$phi_{t,t_{0}}: Y_{t_{0}}longmapsto Y_{t}$ end{center} That is to say, given any initial data
$Y_{0}in R^{N}$, the solution $ Y_{t}$ at any later time can be easily specified. This can be
done by applying the action of the flowmap to the initial data $Y_{0}$ in order to
$Y_{t}=phi_{t,t_{0}} circ Y_{t_{0}}$.
Consider a function $fin Diff(R^{N})$, by using the chain rule, we obtain
$ frac{d}{dt}(f(Y))=V(Y).partial_{Y} f(Y)$
This means that action of the vector fields on $Diff(R^{N})$ is as first order partial differential
operators since $V(Y).partial_{Y} f(Y)$ is considered as first order partial differential operators.
vspace{0.5cm}
The evolution of $fcircphi_{t}$ is given by
egin{center}
$ frac{d}{dt}(fcircphi_{t})=Vcirc fcircphi_{t}$ end{center} The above equation is an autonomous
linear functional differential equation for $fcircphi_{t}$. Such equation has a solution
$fcircphi_{t}=exp(tV)circ fcircphi_{t}$ as $phi_{0}=id$
Setting $f=id$ provides the representation of the flowmap as follows
egin{center}
$phi_{t}=exp(tV)$ end{center} Hence, in this considered case, the flowmap is the exponential of
the vector field. By compositing the above equation

Police Officer Analysis
These two aforementioned events compels me, as a concerned citizen and veteran, to reassess
the standards and the roles of our contemporary policing agencies as well as individual law
enforcement officers. I believe that by changing the people who are police as well as increasing
diversity and officer education would be an effective strategy when dealing with social issues and
law enforcement. For instance, when it comes to excessive use of force, discrimination and the
like. In regards to the two incidents that involved excessive use of policeforce, responses to the
assault on both King and Garner have varied among the police, the public, and academic circles.
Since law enforcement officers are human it is quite possible that individual officers within a
department are merely microcosms of society. In other words, this sub culture within the policing
culture, abbreviates in miniature the characteristic qualities or features of something much larger
(i.e. society, clubs, and groups,). Moreover, if a police recruit... Show more content on

The Great Gatsby- Color Symbolism
The Power of Color Colors are used many different ways by many different people, but are used
mainly as a reflection of the way one feels or his or her own personality. This idea is depicted
through the different characters created in F. Scott Fitzgerald s The Great Gatsby, set in the post
World War I era. The novel evinces the major themes through the use and explanation of many
diverse colors. Jay Gatsby, the most significant character in the story, leads a very materialistic
lifestyle. Hoping to gain back his old love, Daisy, Gatsby uses his money to impress her, hopefully
leading to their settling down together. Daisy s second cousin once removed, Nick Carraway, is the

Caught in the romantic atmosphere of the night, Nick puts [his] arm around Jordan s golden

valuable, as of now, to Nick. While gold and silver are two valuable colors to the characters, gray
symbolizes the corruption behind the money. One depressing color that is quite significant to the
story happens to be the very dull gray. Gray represents the neutral, dull and corrupt society that
resides in America. It is seen, through some of the structures, that corruption has made a big impact
on everyone surrounding them. One such structure, that is only mentioned briefly, is the villages in
France. When Nick first meets and talks to Gatsby, they bring up how both men look familiar to
one another. Ironically, they both took part in some section of World War I, Gatsby, in the ninth
machine gun battalion, and Nick, in the Seventh Infantry (Fitzgerald 47). During the quick
recapitulation of the war, [they] talked for a moment about some wet, gray little villages in France
(Fitzgerald 47). These villages represent the corruption and destruction that the war has brought to
the people and society of France. Another gray structure is the windows at Gatsby house. Even
though Gatsby is a man of money and success, the gray windows on his home signify that this
happiness is just a facade, and that in reality, there is much fraudulence hidden within Gatsby

Comparing Three Cultures
The readings and video showed the similarities and differences of the threes cultures. King Tut,
The Emperor of China, and The Lords of Sipan all had strong feelings of the afterlife. Their
cultures all felt that you don t stop existing once you are dead. They all felt that you continue to
live in the afterlife with all their possessions. Women, men, animals, and children were buried
along with the tombs of the leaders. Sacrifices were made as well to certain animals and
prisoners as part of the burial rituals. Burials of our leaders today in America is completely

This invoked a scenario that can only be described as institutional religious bigotry especially in
the inter war period. Anti Irish prejudice was far more prominent in this era and not simply
discrimination uniquely identified with working class Orangemen. A cabal of churchmen,
academics and politicians were complicit in spreading the narrative that Irish Catholics were not
simply a threat to Scotland s Protestants, the established religion of the country, they were a
threat to the whole Scottish race. The 1923 report published by the Church of Scotland The

But, there is something unusual about the scene, the cattle have been untouched after being

remaining survivors of their family. Ethan s developed hatred for the Native Americans is
displayed when he fires his gun at the eyes of a corpse and then says that according to native
belief once one loses his sight they will forever roam the spirit world ceaselessly. This is
especially monstrous as one understands that he is not limited to destruction and hatred on a
physical level, but is willing to spiritually violate members of the native american race. The
proceedings in this film are extremely biased as many characters have assumed the native american
people to be savages. Even the reason for Ethan s hate is highly unlikely due to

Alternative Press In Vietnam War
t first my paper was going to be around what happen to the Vietnam people after the Vietnam war
and their struggles to migrate to other countries. This seemed to be a very interesting topic to
cover to know where are they now and how they feel about the war. Located a woman in her late
40s from Vietnam, her family has migrated to American when she was just 5 years old. This topic
seemed to be very sensitive for her to talk about, I brought to much pain to talk about her parents
that didn t survive the Vietnam war. After this failed attempt to interview a Vietnamese migrant, I
wondered how the press was reporting out to the world of what was really happening in Vietnam.

I just do not agree with the government hiding facts to help get what they want. In today s age
more then 30 years from the Vietnam War, our local and national leaders still employ the tactics
to keep the public in the dark in order to achieve their agendas. Bush jr told the American public
that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction however no such weapons were ever found. This
conflict stretch over several years and while it did dismantle the Iraqi government, we were still
over there for reasons not disclosed to the general public. This year alone we have dropped

Essay On Brownsville Museum
On October 21, I visited the Historic Brownsville Museum on 641 E. Madison Street. Admission
costs $4 for adults, $3 for children and seniors, and $2 for college students with ID proof.
The museum was a complex rather than one building. The complex was surrounded by a black
metal fence. The main building itself maintained its original style. In the late 1920s, the area was
build as the Southern Pacific Depot freight line. It ran from Brownsville to Edinburg until 1952.
Then, the loading/unloading building began restoration to become a museum. Finally, the Historic
Brownsville Museum opened its doors in 1986. The complex contained three buildings: the main
culture building, a transportation gallery, and the educational building. The main culture building
included artifacts in different categories. The first room was the information desk and gift shop.
The two museum guides were unable to present a tour, but they happily offered any assistance if
needed. The, the room at the right featured the first gallery. Rather than one category, the room

Definition Essay On Slang Word
Everyone has a word or phrase that purely defines who they are, how they speak or the way they
act. In this case, the slang word that defines me most is LOLOL . Nearly everyone in America is
aware of the slang word as LOL, which stands for laughing out loud. LOLOL means close to the
exact same thing as the slang word LOLbut it represents a continuation of someone, or multiple
people expressing their laughter by lots of laughing out loud, . There are multiple definitions for
this slang word, but the way Internet Slang defines this word is the one that relates most to the
meaning I believe in. According to Urban Dictionary, the definition of the word LOLOL is when

This slang word can be used through dialogue as well as a visual, sound, smell, taste, and touch.
One of the most recent visual encounters of using the word LOLOL was when my friend Taylor
Bruck was playing intramural basketball. Intramural sports are when people get teams together
to play one another in a non competitive fashion but, Taylor tried making this very competitive
so she decided to wear goggles and a mouth guard. I do not think I can t remember a time that I
laughed that hard. Since Taylor is one of my good friends I able to laugh at her without
offending her. Another visual detail that always seems to have me laughing out loud is when I
watch videos of dogs playing. I love watching videos of dogs that are doing trick and end up
failing or when dogs do something funny but of course not videos of dogs hurting themselves.
Now, for the last example of a visual detail that helps explain LOLOL is a classic. Taylor Bacon,
my best friend and I live by a lake named Lake Ladue. Last summer we both decided to go
canoeing so when we went we could rent out a canoe for two hours. Our trip on the lake was
going smoothly besides the fact we could not make the canoe go straight. We had the hardest
time to move in the water and before you know it time was almost up. When we arrived back at
shore, the guy who was helping us started laughing at us because we have been rowing the canoe
backward the whole time. Taylor and I just looked at each other and started dying of laughter at

1991 Sacramento Hostage Crisis
The United States had its largest hostage rescue operation in its entire history, during the 1991
Sacramento hostage crisis. Four Vietnamese men, aged between 17 and 21, with legally acquired
firearms purchased by the leader of the group, entered into a Good Guys! Electronics store with
the intention to hold hostages until the four gunmen would receive (as ransom) $4 million, four
bullet proof vests, a helicopter, and a 1,000 year old ginger plant (Gross, p. 10). The gunmen had
told negotiators and hostages that they were dissatisfied with their lives in the United States,
frustrated by the difficulty of finding jobs and eager to be movie stars during the televised hostage
crisis (Gross, p. 8). These men wanted notoriety, and they wanted to return to their country of
origin, Vietnam, using the helicopter they demanded in the ransom. Despite threatening the
hostages, shooting several of them with the intent to injure them, and making wild ransom
requests, the Vietnamese men made little headway. After they realized their ransom offers were
not going to be met, they pushed the negotiators to give bulletproof vests in exchange for several

Genetic Modification ( Gm )
Genetic modification (GM) is the use of modern biotechnology techniques to change the genes
of an organism such as plants or animals. No one is permitted to deal with a genetically modified
organism (GMO) in Australia unless the Australian Gene Technology Regulator has determined
that the GMO is safe to human health and the surrounding environment. As the world s
population continues to increase and is expected to double within the next few years, the world
s demand for food and fibre has increased drastically. GM foods and fibres seem to be the only
means for a solution to provide for the high demand in which we now face. (Agric.wa.gov.au,
2014) Many foods in Australia contain GMO s including Cereals, non organic dairy products,
papayas, bread, rice, potatoes, corn and many more. Genetic modification of foods and fibres
includes inserting genes from one organism into another. The purpose of this is to modify the
genetic code in animals and plants to make them resistant to pests or farming techniques such as
being soaked with chemicals that would normally kill them or even just to make the plants and
animals more productive. (Leigh Erin Connealy, 2013) If an organism is genetically modified it
can be breed or crossed with another organism whether it s GM or non GM. Reproduction
techniques such as cloning which is done through asexual reproduction or selective breeding and
hybrids can be used to breed the genetic modification from the parents into the offspring either

How Junk Food Can End Obesity By David Freedman Summary
David Freedman s article titled How Junk Food Can End Obesity is relevant since we first read
the title. It even sounds satirical or sarcastic, but it encourages the average reader, as well as
provokes the counterparts that would not even imagine nor tolerate the approach Freedman is
taking. This article mainly focuses on criticizing the relatively new wholesome foodmovement,
discrediting many of its preachers and followers. Freedman s discussion attacks the wholesome
activists. He affirms the excessive pressure these foodies are generating to the enactment of
regulations and the demonization of every processed food, has in some way, harmed the large
companies that have been trying to implement measures to reduce calories. Freedman also claims
that is selfish and fantastic to think a wholesome diet is going to fit the average American, that has
a busy schedule, a low to medium income, limited access to fresh farm markets, and a taste
acquired culturally and biologically towards high fat foods, carbohydrates, sugars, and salts. The

The Key Difference Between DBMS And RDBMS
What is DBMS?
A relational database management system (RDBMS) is a program that lets you create, update, and
administer a relational database. Most commercial RDBMS s use the Structured Query Language
(SQL) to access the database, although SQL was invented after the development of the relational
model and is not necessary for its use.
RDBMSs are a common choice for the storage of information in new databases used for financial
records, manufacturing and logistical information, personnel data, and other applications since the
1980s. Relational databases have often replaced legacy hierarchical databases and network
databases because they are easier to understand and use. However, relational databases have
received unsuccessful challenge attempts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Today, there is even a standard 4GL in the structured query Language (SQL) form. The main
difference between 4GLs and 3GLs is that in the former the user needs to specify what is required
and not how it has to be done.
Transaction rules: rules, processes and constraints can be integral part of the data bases. This
ensures that all transactions must obey these rules if they are to be successful. This offers a single
point control.
RDBMSs are used to store the information required by applications built using procedural
technologies such as COBOL or FORTRAN, object technologies such as Java and C#, and
component based technologies such as Visual Basic.
Some benefits of Retional database Management System (RDBMS):
RDBMS (Retional database Management System)are that the system is simple, flexible, and
productive.
RDBMS are more productive because SQL is easier to learn. This allows users to spend more time
inputting instead of learning.
RDBMS are flexible because users do not have to use predefined keys to input information.
It is the ease with which users can create and access data and extend it if

Big Influence On American Culture Essay
3
In the past couple years, there has been a noticeable uprise of comic items like movies, books
and merchandise. The comics have a big influence on American culture ever since the 1940 s.
Ever since then comics have an impact on the way people do, and see things. An example is the
first comic cover of Captain America punching Hitler in the face. That cover showed that anyone
could be a hero and that it was reflecting current events of the time by showing that America was
in World War 2. Comic book superheroes have made a huge difference on what American culture is
ever since their first appearance in 1938 and that impact can be seen in the literature, business, and
Film industry. In the 1930s, there was an idea to publish books that brought words with picture to
life and to reflect the era the audience was living in. 1935 came around and the first comic book
character made his first debut. Ever since then, more and more characters like Superman, Batman,
Captain America and Spider Man appeared and those characters started to reflect their respective
era s problems. An example is Captain America fighting hitler, Spiderman working as a
photographer, or Superman working at a newspaper company are jobs that were very high and
competitive is the 1940s. Those larger than life heroes and characters have always been relatable
or looked up too. With those characters, they have their problems and issues. An example is in
2013, when a writer started to write Captain America aka

Catcher In The Rye Alienation
No one likes being alienated, feeling alone, nor isolated from the outside world, yet so many
people are. At every glance someone takes, they will always find someone with first hand
experience of feeling left out from society due to events in their life, their own cause to leave
themselves out, or society alienating them. This is important to understand because there are so
many people alienated without any knowledge on why it is happening to them nor how it will
affect them in the long run. Even as much as people in real lifehave to deal with alienation so do
the characters in J.D Salinger remarkably told novel, the Catcher in the Rye. The Catcher in the Rye

Which also used for energy in the plant to grow Continuing i will be talking about the carbon cycle.
Now the carbon cycle. The carbon cycle starts with carbon atoms being absorbed in the water
soil or living things (ex plants animals etc.). It then when the said thing is burned or
decomposed the carbon is released back to be reabsorbed. Or when a living creature it pulls in
o2 with C and then when it exhales it creates Co2 which then is absorbed in plants to create
glucose in the process refer to image above. But when trees and stuff are burned or animals are
caught in fires it releases C or carbon. back into the Atmosphere where it is restarted.
Next is the oxygen cycle. Where oxygen is taken and turned by animals into co2 plants then take
it and turn it into o2 where it is released where is is either absorbed by the atmosphere where it will
stay for 4500 years or turn into o3 ozone, the biosphere where it will stay for 50 years ,the
lithosphere where it will stay for 500,000,000 years, and last the hydrosphere. after it is released
it will cycle again and find a new place to populate. oxygen is used in plants in the form of co2 and
h2o to form the photosynthesis equation to create energy. Which it then uses to grow while
outputting o2 or oxygen makes up 20% of our atmosphere. Next i will be covering the nitrogen

Film Commentary on Hakka Stuffed Bitter Melon
The video 客家釀涼瓜 (Hakka Stuffed Bitter Melon) uses a traditional Hakka meal, Hakka
Stuffed Bitter Melon, as an example to elaborate some of the concepts about food covered in
Anthropology. The symbolism of food, inheritance of food among the community, correlation
between food and identity, and the gender stereotypes in food preparation are to be included in the
video and would be discussed in this commentary.
Firstly, traditional food or eating practices are related to the building of self identities. According
Tam (2002), Yum Cha (й
ЈІиЊ¶) carries the symbolism of the spirits of Hong Kong people, which
are tolerant, diverse, adaptable and looking towards changesi. Drinking herbal tea (凉茶),
according to Cheng (2002), is a practice symbolizing Hong Kong people s affirmations towards
Chinaii. Food usually carries special meanings in a community, the Hakka Stuffed Bitter Melon
included. As what is mentioned in this video, in Hakka community, the dish introduced carries a
meaning of bearing hardships since the taste of bitter melon is bitter that many people do not enjoy
eating. Hakka people treat having the dish as a practice to become a patient and strong people. The
dish becomes a reminder for the Hakka community in their daily life, which helps building their
personal identities as one of the Hakka community.

Absurdism In Endgame
Hamm and Clov are the pseudo couples of Endgame; the quality is almost an inseparable feature of
the absurd plays.
Hamm and Clov fulfill the role of the master servant relationship or oppressor and the oppressed
successively in Endgame and Hamm s father and mother live in ashbins and occasionally emerge
only to be cursed by their insensitive son.
In the play, Hamm is confined to wheelchair and he is totally dependent on Clov for move,
likewise Clov reluctantly tries to do what Hamm orders him as there is a shortage of food outside
of their shelter and Hamm is the only one who knows the combination of the locked cupboard.

Moreover, two plays resemble in terms of Hamm s unceasing pleas for painkiller and Garcin s
frequent insistence for silence (Sartre, 1989: 17, 36, 39,49).
The struggle for catching and killing the flea both by Hamm and by Clov is another absurdist
element in Endgame.
Hamm and Clov fear that this small insect may give way to a kind of evolution from which a
potential humanity, civilization can restart: Hamm and Clov s attempts to prevent the emergence of
humanity may either arise from the assumption that humanity will again be subject to suffering or
once humanity emerge, human beings will treat one another inhumanly and oppress each other
hence they will put another layer on to the unbearable side of the world.
Clov, who is aware of the absurdity of close inspection of time, gets angry with Hamm that insists
Clov to pinpoint the time he oiled the castors of Hamm s wheelchair: CLOV: (Violently) That
means that bloody awful day, long ago, before this bloody awful day.
Clov philosophizes on the nature of time and the meaning of words; consequently he hints that if
life has no meaning, Hamm his benefactor or stepfather in this case or somebody (may be a
transcendental entity that is responsible for the mess and absurdity) must teach human beings the
meaning of life and put everything into order from the

Probation Is A Sentence That Is Given To Offenders Instead
Probation is a sentence that is given to offenders instead of jail. Probation comes in different forms
and many different conditions; therefore, if you were unable to meet those conditions you may be
sent to jail. Probation is mostly used for first time offenders, or for those charged with minor
crimes. When given probation you must meet with an assigned probation officer on a regular basis.
Probation dates back to English common law. The first probation officer was recognized by the
Supreme Court in 1841. Before parole and probation punishments were very harsh, and often lead
to death. Over time we have developed these two systems to punish individuals, but at the same
time help them learn how to live in the current society. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the divisions working together they ve made a huge difference in fixing what was once a
broken system.
John Augustus was the father of probation. His idea was to change the behavior of offenders. He
believed that if offenders get a second chance, they should have to learn new behaviors; however,
that would require help trough probation officers. Parole given to an individual when are eligible to
parole. This happens after the prisoner receives a minimum or maximum sentence; however, they
become eligible with the decision of the parole board. The board decides whether or not to put
them on parole after a consideration hearing. Just like probation, this is a program that focuses
on the rehabilitation of offenders. Parole was first introduced in the United States by Brockway
Zebulon in 1876 as a way to reduce overcrowding in jails. He also saw this as way to rehabilitate
offenders. He believed this was the best way to have offenders change their behavior for the
better. This would give an opportunity for offenders to get out of jail, and be rehabilitated. The
parole board decides when the parole period will happen. If the offender violates their parole they
will be sent back in jail for the rest of their sentence. The cost for probation is a lot larger than for
parole. For probation the average year cost is about $29,000 a year. That comes out to be roughly
$79 a day. While, for

Legislative Framework Regarding Disclosures Practices
LEGISLATIVE FRAMEWORK REGARDING DISCLOSURES PRACTICES IN INDIA
The essential mechanism of the legal framework which governs the performance and functioning of
listed companies in any country is the laws and regulations determining the quantity and quality of
corporate disclosures. The core of governance is transparency, disclosure, accountability and
integrity.
Disclosures are very necessary for transparency and accountability of listed companies; these are by
no means sufficient to ensure either of them.
The main concern for disclosure regulations lies behind the basic question of why disclosures need
to be regulated in the first place, and why not instead firms be allowed to voluntarily optimize the
quality and quantity of disclosed information in response to market forces.
There are basically two types of disclosures which are; Voluntary disclosure and required disclosure.
Voluntary disclosures are those disclosures that are left to the discretion of the companyand the
level of which is determined by the management or shareholders by balancing at the margin level
costs and benefits of disclosures. Disclosures that are required, in contrast, the ones that are
mandated by laws and regulations because these are the ones that a company would otherwise not
volunteer to provide.
In India, the laws legal framework regarding corporate governance is generally supervised by
SEBI guidelines and Companies Act, 2013, however they are not limited to only SEBI guidelines

Consumer Boycotts
Question 1: Naomi Klein, among others, is a big advocate of consumer boycotts as a means of
ensuring ethical labor conditions in the supply chains of major brands. Describe the logic by which
consumer boycotts are supposed to work.
The logic behind boycotts is to get a company or an establishment to change something about the
way they do business. For example in this article clothing brands where at the center of boycotts
to end the working conditions that where in the sweatshops that made their products. Boycotts
work because it hits a business right where it hurts, their wallets. People boycotting a company
for doing something that they see as an ethical issue will result in them not buying or using their
products or services. They will also tell their friends not to buy or use their products as well. So
the company either has to live with the reduced sales from the boycott or change they way they
produce their product. The more people that join in on a boycotts the more a boycott will be
successful. An example of a boycott is when people said they would not shop on Black Friday

obstacle in the way from getting a shipment shipped quickly and cheap. The first reason audits
are becoming less effective is because of fraud. Auditors have to going into a factory and try to
find out whether or not that factory is using child labor and hiding it or by falsifying paper work
that says they are old enough to work. A lot of the time workers lie about conditions for fear of being

Introduction
GDP is an important measure that indicates an economy s performance and affects employment,
inflation and foreign trade among others. Extensive research has been done on the factors that
impact real GDP growth, but many different models exist and there is no consensus that is
universally accepted. One important influence is government expenditure but economic theory
does not clearly state the relationship between government spending and GDP growth. Free market
supporters believe that government expenditure will lower real GDP per capita since they expect
that government expenditure in

The area of greatest concern and threat is Illinois Beach State Park which boarders the
contamination site to the North. This is a concern as asbestos can cause cancer if the fibers are
inhaled. Asbestos is less dangerous in water supplies although the site run off at one point was 3

contamination were remediated, secondary excavation and capping projects have taken place over
the years to continue to clean the site for future re development as shown in the image below.

Rogerian Death Penalty
Capital punishment, the state imposed penalty of death, continues to be one of the most
controversial issues in contemporary American public policy. Since the earliest days of its
employment in the colonial era until today, citizens have struggles with the issue of when and
under what circumstances the taking of a human life by the state can be morally or legally justified.
For some opponents of the death penalty, the simple answer is that the taking of a human life is
always morally and ethically wrong, even when conducted under the auspices of state authority as a
legal punishment. In contrast, proponents of capital punishmenthave contended with equal fervor
that the death penalty is morally justified as a form of retributive justice,... Show more content on

Abolitionist states seem unlikely to adopt capital statutes, and most death penalty states conducting
executions seem equally unlikely to eliminate the punishment. Similarly, states where the death
penalty is used frequently, such as Texas, seem certain to continue doing so, while those states
that use it infrequently., such as California, seems unlikely to begin frequent use (Hill, 2014).
The utilitarian theory would view the death penalty as moral because they look at what would
make most the people happy. Utilitarianism was founded by John Stuart Mills and Jeremy
Bentham. By killing the person who took another person s live, the victim s family would be
pleased that justice was served, and the rest of society would be happy knowing that the murderer
would never be able to escape and harm them. This theory does allow life without parole as an
alternative to the death penalty, since the murderer is still being punished and society s happiness

A Brief Note On The Border Between The United States And...

Southwestern Border
On the South Western border of the United States roughly 2000 immigrants cross the border
illegally from Mexico every day. The vast majority of these immigrants are seeking financial
security and a safer life in the United States however, some are coming over to traffic weapons and
drugs for gangs and cartels. It is these few individuals that have caused the U.S. government to
pursue a multi billion dollar defense along the border.
The border between the United States and Mexico consists of 1,952 miles of land border that
divides a first world and third world nation. Any border is an environment of opportunity. People
flock to borders around the world to exploit the regions resources and people. There are always
plenty of people at the borders of nations to build large factories, or to traffic narcotics and weapons
into neighboring nations.
The Guadalupe Hidalgo Treaty in 1848 and the Gadsden Purchase in 1853 dictated the border
between the United States and Mexico. The people of the region that surrounds both the United
States and Mexican sides of the border have a very similar past. The original inhabitants were
Native American societies, then the Spanish came to the New World and, by a perceived divine
right, took the land away from the natives and claimed the land for Spain. After the Spanish settled
into the area the English speaking nations came and claimed the lands from the earlier Spanish
settlers and Native Americans who

Analysis Of The Book The Hardy Boys
The Hardy Boys series written by various authors, all under the pseudonym Franklin W. Dixon
has been around for a very long time. Their first appearance was in 1927, and they have survived
numerous reboots and reprints since then. Part of their charm, especially for kids, is that, unlike
Sherlock Holmes and other popular detectives, they are teenagers. Like their readers, they have
school, chores, and church on Sunday. This essay will focus, as far as plot is concerned on the
first book The Tower Treasure, the differences between the Hardy Boysand typical detective fiction,
as well as on the cultural impact of the books. The Tower Treasure begins with the sons of private
detective Fenton Hardy running an errand for their father. The errand and their lives are almost cut
short, however by a speeding car that nearly runs them off the road. They survive the incident, and
continue on, completing their errand successfully. They then detour to the farm of Chet Morton, a
school chum of the Hardy boys [who] lived on a farm about a mile out of Bayport (Dixon 14).
On the way to Chet s they discover the car that almost killed them overturned. They examine the
wreck to find that it has been abandoned. Upon arriving at Chet s, they discover that his jalopy,
the Queen has been stolen. They drive into their hometown of Bayport, where they run into Callie
Shaw. Callie accuses Chet of lending his car to someone who then hit her and ruined a cake she
was carrying for a neighbor. They

The Learning Theories And Our Lives
The Learning Theories and Our Lives We start our lives and we immediately start to develop into
the person we become today. Obviously most of us would not start by learning calculus at two
years old, or care about what grades we are getting in first grade, but the process of learning starts
right away. This learningprocesses plays a significant role in developing us. There are three main
learning theories we look at. Observational, Classical Conditioning, and Operant Conditioning.
Observational learning occurs through observing the behaviors of others. This includes things
like memorizing and reproducing things that someone showed you or you saw done. Classical
Conditioning is when things happen multiple times and you learn a response to this. For
example, the first time you spoke out in class in elementary school, you were not conditioned yet
not to. The response to this might be being told to be quiet or a time out. You then are
conditioned that if you talk, you will get in trouble. Then you have Operant Conditioning, which
is behaviors that are associated with a consequence. An example to this is doing well in a swim
competition becomes associated with an award. When you start your life you start learning by
observing what you parents do. When you are young learning is done primarily from observing
what goes on around you. At this point in your life you are not developed enough to understand
consequences; or a least not to an advanced level. You observe what your

During 1941 through 1945 a war had occurred in the Pacific between the Americans and the
Japanese this war was called The Pacific Theater. This war was also being fought during the
duration of another World War against Germany and Japan but on May 8, 1945 Germany
surrendered to the allied powers leaving Japan to still be dealt with. However Japan would not
surrender even after the major battles between the Americans and Japanese in Iwo Jima and
Okinawa. The Americans then came to conclusion to try and get to a new military weapon which
then started the ManHattan Project. The Manhattan Project established a new powerful military
weapon known as the Atomic Bomb. This new entirely militarized weapon was designed to force

people who attacked Pearl Harbor without warning, those who treated prisoners of war with little
sympathy and pity, and those who caused international war crimes. The Americans were able to
stop the war with the Atomic Bombing and put an end to the empire which had done unjustly acts
upon the war. These acts that were caused by the Japanese were also prevented from happening
even further upon into the war. The Japanese would also do Island Hopping which they would
specifically attack enemy islands and take over them to create a Pacific Empire. The Americans
had also stopped this by using the Atomic Bomb to make them surrender. If the Americans have not

1 What are the advantages and disadvantages of nuclear family?
A main advantage of the nuclear family is that a couple has ultimate privacy. Nuclear families
incur less stress and trouble when moving into a new home. There is a specific sense of freedom
that gives a nuclear family the ability to live life as they wish. It is also easier to avoid stress. A
disadvantage is that children are left to take care of themselves. Another disadvantage is that the
feeling of safety and security is lacking. There is also not much of a support system.

The Theories Of The Labeling Theory
Historical Theoretical Conceptualization The labeling theory is a theoretical development
within the field of criminology, it is a theory that is used to determine self identity and behavior
of individuals. The theory is also used to classify and or describe the identity and behavior of
individuals. It is connected to the concepts of self fulfilling prophecy and stereotyping
(Paternoster Bachman, 2013). The primary authors of labeling theory are Howard Becker and
Edwin Becker. The works of these authors were started in the 1950 s. Edwin Lemert made a
distinction between primary deviance and secondary deviance, while Howard Becker focused
on the conditions under which labeling takes place. Howard Becker coined the phrase moral
entrepreneurs (Becker, 1963, p. 179), as individuals who take the lead in getting a specific
behavior negatively labeled or getting the label removed. The labeling theory s conception is
considered by many scholars to be an innovative area of research and development in the field of
criminogenic. This theory s inception was in 1963 and in 1960 the United States found itself in the
midst of a great degree of political and cultural conflict magnified by the civil rights movement, the
Vietnam War, and the expressions of love, peace, and happiness. The role that governmental
entities, such as the courts and human services agencies played in the creation of delinquency and
crime was highlighted by Howard Becker. In many accounts, the labeling theory was

Summary Of The Chimney Sweeper And The Victorian Childhood
The 18th century saw the development of children s literature as a category of its own. The horrors
of the Industrial Revolution made writing about children come to life. William Blake s The
Chimney Sweeper from the Book of Experience presents children as unimportant and mistreated
which influenced Charlotte Bronte s Jane Eyreto introduce childhood experience from a child s
perspective. The Romantic and The Victorian Ages share common themes in their literature.
Children were subject to many diseases and hardships, they had little or no education, and they
would often go to work to help support their family. As we compare the similarities of both works
of literature we will see how the literary writings are a part of culture and they signify the cultures
and the eras they were created in. Let s begin with William Blake s The Chimney Sweeper the
poem begins
A little black thing among the snow,
Crying weep! weep! in notes of woe!
The speaker begins to portray an image in the readers mind, we question what is this little black
thing until the second line confirming that it is a child covered in soot alone in the snow crying.
This image seems to stick out since there a sharp distinction between the black soot covered boy
and beautiful sparkling snow he is sitting in. That feeling of loneliness and abandonment is like
how Jane Eyre felt as a child. Her mother dies when she is young, and is forced to live with her
abusive Aunt. She is treated badly by her family. Continuing with Blake s poem the child is asked
where his parents are, the boy shows the hypocrisy by stating they are at church praying while he is
left in the snow.
Undeniably, the child is complaining about their irresponsibility because to work and to gain
money is the duty of the parents, not children. (Karakuzu, 2016). The next few lines give us the
boy s story he says
Because I was happy upon the heath,
And smiled among the winter s snow
They clothed me in the clothes of death,
And taught me to sing the notes of woe.?
The child talks about how he was happy at one point and had fun outdoors in the winter snow until
his parents dressed him the clothes if death and taught him to sing sad songs. I believe he is
referring to his clothing as

disagreed with the recommendation proposed by CFO to pay dividends to its shareholder because
the cash resources are used to generate interest income on fund investments. Besides, the company

actually his performance target that must be achieved. Second, Chairman also requested him to

performance indicator to ensure fair evaluation or determine specific action to improve
performance. Despite to that, the chairman emphasized on the importance of holding onto the
group value drivers to ensure survival and success. Third, the Chairman had questioned about the

Real Estate Property Pros And Cons
Real Estate Property Rights As Americans, we are able to purchase homes and become
homeowners without having to request permission to do so. It is the American dream to own a
real estate and make it a home for the family. As homeowners, a person has the right to do
whatever they desire to the property at any time as long as it is not against any law, local
ordinance and in some cases, a regulations set forth by a community association. In addition to
homeowner being able to do what they would like to the home, there are also ownershiprights. The
homeowner has the right of possession, control, quiet enjoyment, and disposition (Carey, B.,
Larsen, J.E., Eldred, G.W., 2016, p. 7).
Right of Possession
Whoever holds the title, owns the property. The title and deed validates ownership and along with
ownership comes the right of possession, within legal limitations (Carey, B., Larsen, J.E., Eldred,
G.W., 2016, p. 7). One of the pros of owning property is that the homeowner has the right to
occupy the property and use it as they so desire. According to Carey, Larsen and Eldred, this
includes the right to keep all others from coming on your property without your permission
(trespassing) (Carey, B., Larsen, J.E., Eldred, G.W., 2016, p. 7).... Show more content on

Corruption In Developing Countries
Despite the real efforts made, there has been little concrete progress to date. In most developing
countries today, corruption is widespread and part of everyday life. Society has learned to live
with it, even considering it, fatalistically, as an integral part of their culture. Not only are public
or official decisions for instance, on the award of government contracts or the amount of tax due
bought and sold, but very often access to a public service or the exercise of a right, such as
obtaining civil documents, also has to be paid for.
Several mechanisms help to spread corruption and make it normal practice in these countries.
Civil servants who refuse to toe the line are removed from office; similarly, businessmen who
oppose it are penalised vis Г vis their competitors. Furthermore, an image of the state has grown
up over the years according to which the civil service, far from being a body that exists to
implement the rights of citizens rights that mirror their duties is first and foremost perceived as the
least risky way of getting rich quickly. All of which helps to make corruption seem normal.
In practice, it is the environment in which public servants and private actors operate that causes
corruption. Public administration in developing countries is often bureaucratic and inefficient. And a
large number of complex, restrictive regulations coupled with inadequate controls are characteristic
of developing countries that corruption helps to get around.
But

  • 2. Analysis Of The Persistence Of Memory By Salvador Dali Surrealism is a 20th century art and literature movement that pursued the creative potential of the unconscious mind. Surrealism has been around for over a hundred years and the movement consisted of many talented artists that are still relevant today. One of the most mysterious, yet talented, surrealist painters of the 20th century was Salvador Dali. He was known for his bizarre paintings during his time as an artist. Dali s most famous work of art was created in 1931 and called The Persistence of Memory. This painting uses components such as color, contrast of light and dark, composition, background, repetition, and symbolism to create a compelling and deeper meaning within the artwork. The Persistence of Memory depicts a dream state... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The hidden meaning of color is an essential element of art. Simple principals involving color can be applied to art and cause an impact on how a viewer sees it. Color has been used to evoke certain emotions or create a specific message in art for centuries. Different colors convey different moods; cool colors can bring the mind a calming effect while warm colors can bring the mind a feeling of happiness. Dali used color as a tool in all of his art to either artistically show his emotions or allow his viewers to feel a specific mood. In the painting The Persistence of Memory, Dali used a faint light blue color and a pale yellow to create the horizon of the painting. While painting this horizon, Dali s target was to convey a calm yet joyful mood. The yellow undertones represent light. It creates a feeling of hope and happiness in the painting. The light hearted feeling the color gives off resembles the feeling of optimism and mellowness one feels within a pleasant dream. While dreaming, colors subconsciously having a meaning behind them. The faint yellow and blue colors in the painting seem unreal as they blend with the ground, but they give the viewer, or the dreamer, a feeling of comfort. Dark and light have always represented two differing forces of nature, whether it is moral and unmoral, happiness and despair, or love and hate. Light is an energy that ... • 4. American Education System Faulty It is a well known fact that Americans, in comparison to other developed nations worldwide, lags in academic achievement as evidenced by various international assessments. The results of such assessments have led many to question the reasons behind it is the American education system faulty, is the population simply too large to fully educate, or is it the lack of motivation in all parties involved? Though these aspects are all likely to have played a role in the educational lag, the underlying reason for America s lagging academic achievement may well lie in its highly diverse population and social culture within the schools, which may not particularly foster the kind of social support necessary for success in an academic setting. While this... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To get a sense for how low America ranks, it was found in a 2009 PISA study that the United States ranks 25th out of 33 countries on the exam, where countries such as Japan, South Korea, and Finland score consistently near the top (Sparapani et al, 2014). Such results make it clear that there is a significant difference between these nations and the US. Namely, one of the largest differences between America and other nations participating in the PISA exam is cultural diversity. In fact, nations that rank higher on the PISA exam tend to have smaller, more culturally homogenous populations with the majority of citizens holding similar views and cultural expectations of their educational system. By contrast, America celebrates its high cultural diversity, which places unique burdens on schools when considered in an educational context. Significant inequities within the American culture stem from its cultural diversity, and inspire implicit disagreements as to how education should be handled in America. For example, Laura Gonzalez (2013), an assistant professor with the department of Counseling and Educational development at the University of North Carolina, notes that the idea of respeto in Latino communities, which refers to the high esteem and respect for elders and professionals within the community, is highly valued. As a result of these values, Latino families are less likely than other ethnicities to report potential problems to the school (Bower Griffin, 2011). In this context, the family, who may be recent immigrants without the greatest grasp of the American educational system, tends view their role as being in the home. Instead, they trust the teacher to do their job while their children are at school, and choose not to interfere as a way of respecting the teacher s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Civil Engineering Purpose Statement Statement of Purpose It is certainly true that, in a developing country like Nepal, after completing high school education, students opt to pursue either medical or engineering degree with a hope that they will enhance their economic status with high paid jobs. However, my affinity for mathematics and science swayed me towards civil engineering. Ever since my high school education, I was fascinated about landmarks such a lofty Itaipu Dam, Kansai Airport, and those of Indian engineers who skillfully designed the metro system and mitigated the problems faced due to traffic congestion in such a densely populated country. The round robin is a livestock show at the Brown County Fair where kids 7th grade and older show a variety of different animals. It s a large showmanship contest where a person is judged on how they show the animal. My best friend had signed me up for it. I signed you and Abby up for the round robin. she said. Ugh, I complained, I m terrible at showmanship. Well too bad. she laughed. This year had a new twist to the contest. We had to show beef, sheep, swine, and rabbits, but we couldn t show our own animals. Abby, Mikayla, and I walked around the barns to find animals to show. We went to beef first. Hey Brooke, can we show three of your cows for round robin? we asked in unison. Of course. They re all pretty tame. Thanks! We practice for about 30 minutes and then moved to our next animals. We didn t have to practice with sheep and swine because we already know how to show them, so we went to rabbits, Hey Winston, can we show your rabbits for round robin? The waste to energy skill is explored to development the possible materials in waste which are biomass, plastic and rubber tire to be oil. The bulk of waste tyres are disposed in landfills, ensuing in a sort of troubles such as taking up huge quantity of more and more precious landfill space and unintentional fires resulting in highly toxic emissions such as nitrogen dioxide (NO2), sulphur dioxide (SO2), hydrogen sulphide (H2S), carbon monoxide (CO) and hazardous polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) [2 4]. A variety of strategies have been planned as choices to waste tyre managing, all planning at tyre reprocess. Waste tyres can regrettably not be recycled in traditional ways such as glass, metal or plastic by thaw out to attain raw material for new products. This is as a consequence of the compound nature of tyres, which consist of steel, rubber, carbon black, ash, fillers, etc. [5]. One more snag is that the polymers in the tyres are cross linked, and these bonds cannot be chemically broken down simply [6]. Pyrolysis is distinct as the method by which materials are thermally degraded by subjection to high temperature in the lack of oxygen [7]. The pyrolysis process is effectual in the recycling of waste materials, counting waste tyres, and thus contributes to decrease the ecological impact of waste tyres [8]. The pyrolysis process yields three main products i.e., a gas, liquid and solid [9]. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For instance, when it comes to excessive use of force, discrimination and the like. In regards to the two incidents that involved excessive use of policeforce, responses to the assault on both King and Garner have varied among the police, the public, and academic circles. Since law enforcement officers are human it is quite possible that individual officers within a department are merely microcosms of society. In the 1930s, there was an idea to publish books that brought words with picture to life and to reflect the era the audience was living in. 1935 came around and the first comic book character made his first debut. Ever since then, more and more characters like Superman, Batman, Captain America and Spider Man appeared and those characters started to reflect their respective era s problems. An example is Captain America fighting hitler, Spiderman working as a photographer, or Superman working at a newspaper company are jobs that were very high and competitive is the 1940s. Those larger than life heroes and characters have always been relatable or looked up too. With those characters, they have their problems and issues. The carbon cycle starts with carbon atoms being absorbed in the water soil or living things (ex plants animals etc.). It then when the said thing is burned or decomposed the carbon is released back to be reabsorbed. Or when a living creature it pulls in o2 with C and then when it exhales it creates Co2 which then is absorbed in plants to create glucose in the process refer to image above. But when trees and stuff are burned or animals are caught in fires it releases C or carbon. back into the Atmosphere where it is restarted. Next is the oxygen cycle. Where oxygen is taken and turned by animals into co2 plants then take it and turn it into o2 where it is released where is is either absorbed by the atmosphere where it will stay for 4500 years or turn into o3 ozone, the biosphere where it will stay for 50 years ,the lithosphere where it will stay for 500,000,000 years, and last the hydrosphere. after it is released it will cycle again and find a new place to populate. oxygen is used in plants in the form of co2 and h2o to form the photosynthesis equation to create energy. Legislative Framework Regarding Disclosures Practices LEGISLATIVE FRAMEWORK REGARDING DISCLOSURES PRACTICES IN INDIA The essential mechanism of the legal framework which governs the performance and functioning of listed companies in any country is the laws and regulations determining the quantity and quality of corporate disclosures. The core of governance is transparency, disclosure, accountability and integrity. Disclosures are very necessary for transparency and accountability of listed companies; these are by no means sufficient to ensure either of them. The main concern for disclosure regulations lies behind the basic question of why disclosures need to be regulated in the first place, and why not instead firms be allowed to voluntarily optimize the quality and quantity of disclosed information in response to market forces. There are basically two types of disclosures which are; Voluntary disclosure and required disclosure. Voluntary disclosures are those disclosures that are left to the discretion of the companyand the level of which is determined by the management or shareholders by balancing at the margin level costs and benefits of disclosures. Disclosures that are required, in contrast, the ones that are mandated by laws and regulations because these are the ones that a company would otherwise not volunteer to provide. Describe the logic by which consumer boycotts are supposed to work. The logic behind boycotts is to get a company or an establishment to change something about the way they do business. For example in this article clothing brands where at the center of boycotts to end the working conditions that where in the sweatshops that made their products. Boycotts work because it hits a business right where it hurts, their wallets. People boycotting a company for doing something that they see as an ethical issue will result in them not buying or using their products or services. They will also tell their friends not to buy or use their products as well. So the company either has to live with the reduced sales from the boycott or change they way they produce their product. Since the earliest days of its employment in the colonial era until today, citizens have struggles with the issue of when and under what circumstances the taking of a human life by the state can be morally or legally justified. For some opponents of the death penalty, the simple answer is that the taking of a human life is always morally and ethically wrong, even when conducted under the auspices of state authority as a legal punishment. Obviously most of us would not start by learning calculus at two years old, or care about what grades we are getting in first grade, but the process of learning starts right away. This learningprocesses plays a significant role in developing us. There are three main learning theories we look at. Observational, Classical Conditioning, and Operant Conditioning. Observational learning occurs through observing the behaviors of others. This includes things like memorizing and reproducing things that someone showed you or you saw done. Classical Conditioning is when things happen multiple times and you learn a response to this. For example, the first time you spoke out in class in elementary school, you were not conditioned yet not to. The response to this might be being told to be quiet or a time out. You then are conditioned that if you talk, you will get in trouble. Then you have Operant Conditioning, which is behaviors that are associated with a consequence. An example to this is doing well in a swim competition becomes associated with an award. When you start your life you start learning by observing what you parents do. When you are young learning is done primarily from observing what goes on around you. At this point in your life you are not developed enough to understand consequences; or a least not to an advanced level. You observe what your ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Theories Of The Labeling Theory Historical Theoretical Conceptualization The labeling theory is a theoretical development within the field of criminology, it is a theory that is used to determine self identity and behavior of individuals. The theory is also used to classify and or describe the identity and behavior of individuals. It is connected to the concepts of self fulfilling prophecy and stereotyping (Paternoster Bachman, 2013). The primary authors of labeling theory are Howard Becker and Edwin Becker. The works of these authors were started in the 1950 s. Edwin Lemert made a distinction between primary deviance and secondary deviance, while Howard Becker focused on the conditions under which labeling takes place. Howard Becker coined the phrase moral entrepreneurs (Becker, 1963, p. 179), as individuals who take the lead in getting a specific behavior negatively labeled or getting the label removed. The labeling theory s conception is considered by many scholars to be an innovative area of research and development in the field of criminogenic. This theory s inception was in 1963 and in 1960 the United States found itself in the midst of a great degree of political and cultural conflict magnified by the civil rights movement, the Vietnam War, and the expressions of love, peace, and happiness. The role that governmental entities, such as the courts and human services agencies played in the creation of delinquency and crime was highlighted by Howard Becker. In many accounts, the labeling theory was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. Summary Of The Chimney Sweeper And The Victorian Childhood The 18th century saw the development of children s literature as a category of its own. The horrors of the Industrial Revolution made writing about children come to life. William Blake s The Chimney Sweeper from the Book of Experience presents children as unimportant and mistreated which influenced Charlotte Bronte s Jane Eyreto introduce childhood experience from a child s perspective. The Romantic and The Victorian Ages share common themes in their literature. Children were subject to many diseases and hardships, they had little or no education, and they would often go to work to help support their family. As we compare the similarities of both works of literature we will see how the literary writings are a part of culture and they signify the cultures and the eras they were created in. Let s begin with William Blake s The Chimney Sweeper the poem begins A little black thing among the snow, Crying weep! weep! in notes of woe! The speaker begins to portray an image in the readers mind, we question what is this little black thing until the second line confirming that it is a child covered in soot alone in the snow crying. This image seems to stick out since there a sharp distinction between the black soot covered boy and beautiful sparkling snow he is sitting in. That feeling of loneliness and abandonment is like how Jane Eyre felt as a child. Her mother dies when she is young, and is forced to live with her abusive Aunt. She is treated badly by her family. Continuing with Blake s poem the child is asked where his parents are, the boy shows the hypocrisy by stating they are at church praying while he is left in the snow. Undeniably, the child is complaining about their irresponsibility because to work and to gain money is the duty of the parents, not children. (Karakuzu, 2016). The next few lines give us the boy s story he says Because I was happy upon the heath, And smiled among the winter s snow They clothed me in the clothes of death, And taught me to sing the notes of woe.? The child talks about how he was happy at one point and had fun outdoors in the winter snow until his parents dressed him the clothes if death and taught him to sing sad songs. I believe he is referring to his clothing as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 52. Corruption In Developing Countries Despite the real efforts made, there has been little concrete progress to date. In most developing countries today, corruption is widespread and part of everyday life. Society has learned to live with it, even considering it, fatalistically, as an integral part of their culture. Not only are public or official decisions for instance, on the award of government contracts or the amount of tax due bought and sold, but very often access to a public service or the exercise of a right, such as obtaining civil documents, also has to be paid for. Several mechanisms help to spread corruption and make it normal practice in these countries. Civil servants who refuse to toe the line are removed from office; similarly, businessmen who oppose it are penalised vis Г vis their competitors. Furthermore, an image of the state has grown up over the years according to which the civil service, far from being a body that exists to implement the rights of citizens rights that mirror their duties is first and foremost perceived as the least risky way of getting rich quickly. All of which helps to make corruption seem normal. In practice, it is the environment in which public servants and private actors operate that causes corruption. Public administration in developing countries is often bureaucratic and inefficient. And a large number of complex, restrictive regulations coupled with inadequate controls are characteristic of developing countries that corruption helps to get around. But ...
