A Comparative Analysis of the Health Care System in France...
A Comparative Analysis of the Health Care System in France vs the United States
Introduction
Everyone would agree that a good health system, above all, must contribute to good health. It is
certainly not considered acceptable to protect or improve the average health of the population, if at the
same time inequality worsens or remains high because the gain accrues disproportionately to those
already enjoying better health. The responsibility of a health care system is also to reduce inequalities
to race, gender, social status and religion. While the United States is considered a world leader in
almost any category they are judged; however, the US healthcare system remains one of the worst.
This analysis will compare the US health ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But, the problem presented now is reform is being done in reaction to failure. Any industry will show
that making change based on a reaction is much less effective and more costly than making change
proactively after careful consideration. And, at whose expense will reform come It will come at the
expense of the American people.
Expenditures Dutton, summarizing OECD statistics reported in 2005, claims that the French
government pays for 78.3% of France s total health care spending which accounts for 10.4% of their
GDP equating to $3048 per capita. Depressingly for the United States, health care spending makes up
a much higher 15.2% of the GDP at $5711 per capita, of which the United States government is
contributing only 44.6%. (Dutton, 2007, p.7) Health insurance in France is primarily funded through
their Social Security System. The system is made up of many different bodies and is complicated to
understand in detail. Everyone working in France must contribute to the French Social Security
system and everyone (French or not, working or not, unemployed, child or retired, legal or illegal
immigrant) is entitled to benefit from it with no exception; the system is rather complex and
considered bureaucratic. The system is threefold: Health, Family and Retirement, each of them having
different structures and financing; each of them being financially

Christopher Wren Research Paper
Christopher Wren can be called the largest phenomena of English architecture of the period of the
second half of 17th century and beginning of 18th century. His life is free from the rebellious quest of
the previous generation and to the brim is filled with often very bold, but sure and planned
development of what has been achieved in the field of exact sciences and then architecture. Fine arts,
literature and, in general, the humanities, apparently did not fascinate him. The son of the abbot of
Windsor Abbey and the nephew of the bishop, and hence the representative of the privileged social
stratum, with its settled way of life and influential connections, Christopher received a brilliant
education at that time and early surrendered to scientific interests, discovering, like many ... Show

In a Newton s opinion he was one of the three most outstanding mathematicians of his time. Wren was
a professor of astronomy at Oxford. He developed many inventions, including construction
mechanisms, and later became one of the founders and first presidents of the Royal Society created in
1660. However, Wren went down in history, first of all, as the most outstanding architect of his
country. To the architecture of Wren turned relatively late, in the thirty third year of life, and then after
repeated insistence of influential customers. This in itself testifies to a new attitude to architecture,
perceived by that time as an activity requiring deep, diverse knowledge and a broad outlook. And one
of the turning point in his life, which led to appeal to architecture, was the Great Fire of London in
1666. Wren creates a project for a radical redevelopment of the city, rejected, however, by the
reactionary authorities. At the same time, Wren received the order for the construction his the most
monumental structure of the St. Paul s Cathedral in London and rebuilding burned churches, of which

The Impact Of Overfishing On The Environmental Balance
As far back as the history of man, humans have been dependent on the ocean and water resources for
food and survival. While hundreds of years of single handed fishing rods in coastal and inland water
channels have not alone been the root cause of overfishing, these common practices today still impact
the environmental balance. Ocean overfishing is the removal or taking of wildlife from the oceans and
seas at rates too high for fished species to replace themselves and is a threat that exists to our way of
life. Overfishing can occur by commercial fishing, single person excessive fishing in a particular area
of a body of water, or by other natural predatory activity. A recent report by scientists said that if
commercial fish species the fish caught for food continue to decline at the current rate, by the year
2048 most commercial fish species will be in danger of never recovering because of the break in the
natural ecosystem which would affect the diversity of wildlife in the ocean (Kurlansky, 2011). As a
human species, we are responsible for educating each other on this worldwide concern to help save
our planet. If this isn t a reason to begin efforts of worldwide education on overfishing, what is? The
impact of overfishing has long term consequences on the human race and the animal population as it
threatens our biological balance and our ecosystem. The good news is that there are currently
organizations, governments and entities working hard to make a

The Importance Of Evidence Based Assessment
Review the care given and provide an evidence based critique of that care It is vitally important to
initiate accurate documentation and assessment when performing a patients observation as this can
clearly prevent and identify acute poor health (Mulryan, 2011). On the other hand, an observation
assessment can to often be performed accurately and incorrectly (Mulryan, 2011). For that reason, a
nurse s ability, knowledge, competence and documentation are all paramount when assessing a patient
stability (Mulryan, 2011). On evaluating the care that was given to Sam, when being assessed every
four hours for vital signs, by nurses involved in her care. Firstly, Sam was on medication for pain
relief which was helping keep her pain free. As she stated when asked in the PSA if she was in pain,
Sam stated that she was not in any pain at the time. Evidence based practice recommends that a nurse
should give the patient regular analgesic and PRN analgesic when needed (Park et al, 2016).
Inadequately managed pain can lead to adverse physical and psychological patient outcomes for
individual patients and their families (Park et al, 2016). inadequate pain management negatively affect
the patient s welfare and the hospital performance because of extended lengths of stay and
readmissions, both of which increase the cost of care (Park et al, 2016). Secondly, due to Sam s
condition she was at risk of having a high fever I identified through the PSA Sam s temperature at the

Much Ado About Nothing Monologue
For our drama assignment we had to do a Shakespearen monologue and do a write up about it. I chose
to do a monologue from the shakespearen play Much Ado About Nothing, act 4 scene 1, I played the
character Beatrice. I didn t really enjoy this assignment as much because I felt very overwhelmed
during the acting part of this assessment and I feel I didn t do very well. With the writing part of the
assignment I feel like I struggled especially with the interpretation of what each line meant of our
monologue. Overall I feel like I didn t do very well at all on this assessment task.
I believe that I could of done a lot better in the acting part by not stoping in the middle. I did get very
upset after I performed due too me feeling like I knew it and I practised it so much that I was so
disappointed in myself for stuffing the whole monologue up. I got myself all worked up before
performing so that when I stumbled during my monologue I blanked. I feel like I didn t do my best

The part I know that I definitely struggled with were the interpretation of the monologue and the
themes. I found the interpretation part difficult because the language of Shakespeare I find is very

difficult because at first I wasn t sure what the question was trying to ask but when I think I figured it

for the freedom of millions of enslaved African Americans during my time in Parliament, which for
those of you who aren t aware, is the governing body of Britain. These poor beings were human just as
we are, and were cruelly forced to work against their will. I am credited by historians as leading the
movement to pass the Slave Trade Act of 1807, which ended the sale and purchase of slaves
throughout the British Empire, which included the West Indies and India as well as England.
Unfortunately, abolition was not achieved in Britain until after I passed away in 1833. Again, history

groundbreaking at the time. Finally, one of my lesser known, and prouder achievements was my

Satire In Lysistrata
Satire, Sex and the Role of Women in Ancient Greece
Aristophanes comedy, Lysistrata, uses satire to show the issue of war between ancient Greek cities and
uses women and sex as a weapon to explain the futility of war. Aristophanes was a playwright,
landowner and political representative in Athens born around 450 BCE. He is considered by many to
be like Father of Ancient Comedy. All of Aristophanes comedies show commentary on the
contemporary society and the Peloponnesian War between Athens and Sparta. The comedy that I will
be analyzing today, Lysistrata, was produced in 411 BCE and involves a sex strike to end the war. In
this essay, I will show how Lysistrata reflects and satirizes the dominance of males in Athenian
society, show how the convention of cross dressing conveys the message of male dominance and
speculate how an Athenian society might have responded to men dressed as women outsmarting men.

Lines 76, 78). Athenian women rarely had a social life and were only allowed out into the public
sphere of activity for ritual. Within Lysistrata, we see satire used by other women characters to explain
their cultural norms. When Kinesias tries to use the image of their sad baby to keep Myrrhine from
leaving without having sex, Myrrhine humorously cries out How momentous is motherhood! I ve got
no choice but to go down there. (Episode Lines 63

Vanity Fair, By Chris Fraser Essay
Vanity Fair is one of the largest apparel companies in the world. Founded in 1899 as Reading Glove
and Mitten Company, it has expanded into a multi brands company and what is know today as Vanity
Fair. over the years Vanity Fair has acquired many companies such as, The North Face, Vans, Nautica,
Reef, Kipling, Eastpak, Majestic, etc.... Vanity Fair s strategic growth plan includes expanding into
markets outside the United States, countries such as Russia, India, and China, and expanding its direct
to consumer business by creating its own stores and online based retailing. Vanity Fair s president,
Chris Fraser proposes the third way sourcing to lower cost.
The complexity of the product line and the wide variety of the brands needs and priorities make it
difficult for Vanity fair to run its supply chain. It is a challenge for Vanity Fair to keep up with the
continuously changing product designs. Rapid replenishment is also a challenge. Major retailers
required Vanity fair to replenish inventories within 8 days so they can minimize inventory costs. In
this area, Vanity Fair competes with Zara, which is known for fast replenishment of inventory
throughout a season. Therefore, Vanity Fair needs a responsive and flexible supply chain.
Fraser points out that, for the past few decades, supply chain strategy in apparel was focused on
chasing low cost labor from one country to the next. Today, apparel is produced just about everywhere

Social Issues In The Walking Dead By Richard Kirkman
In the graphic novel, The Walking Dead by Richard Kirkman (writer), Tony Moore (art) and Cliff
Rathburn (gray tones) introduce us to see how it is to survive in the zombie apocalypse, where the
main story is not about the zombies themselves but the survivors. This is where a neighbor may turn
into a walker (slang of zombies, and infected) and probably they should consider murdering him or
her with an unsharpened object. This blunt object, the horrendous zombies, and the expressions of the
characters are well represented by Tony Moore through the art in this book. Kirkman shows us that
there are social issues between the survivors. Through his story, Kirkman tells us that in a post
apocalyptic world, there is no administration, there is no law implementation, money has no value,
there is no 911 to call and there is no characterized social structure. The only they have is family
members, friends, and strangers.
The social issues that take place revolve around Rick understanding that his wife Laurie has been
unfaithful. Shane is Rick s best friend and Laurie has reservations about the relations continuing. In
fact, Laurie has stated that the night with Shane was a mistake. Shane becomes aggressive with Rick
regarding an argument that resulted in Shane telling Rick to shut up about everything. When
everything has come to a head with all the friends and the zombies kill Amy, the friends grieve at her
funeral. Jim says at her funeral, that no one deserves this kind

The Increasing Weight Of The Union
The increasing weight of the Union since its creation in 1951 has elevated the community to the
international stage as an indubitable power and encouraged the debate about the characterization of
the EU, fostered by the involvement from European political science scholars. Scholars have came up
with a sui generis definition of the EU in the sense that it neither is an intergovernmental organization
nor a federal state.4 Still, the novelty of the Union does not bound itself to the definition of the nature
of European institutional set up. Indeed, the discussion between scholars goes further towards the
characterization of the European power.
To understand Manner s theory, let us first have a look at its inspirations. The concept of civilian
power (CP) was mostly developed by F.Duchêne in 1973. He defined it as a civilian group long on
economic power and relatively short on armed forces .5 This concept can be said to be the basis of
Manners NPE theory. Moravcsik deepened F.Duchêne s definition arguing that the EU s CP «does not
lie in the deployment of battalions or bomber, but rather in the quiet promotion of democracy and
development through trade, foreign aid and peacekeeping». 6 In a word, both definitions imply that
CP privileges means others than military ones in its foreign policy. As a matter of fact, the civilian
conceptualization of Europe puts the emphasis on negociacion, multilateralism, economic instruments
and diplomacy rather than privileging a

The Family Law Act 1975 ( Cth )
The Family Court is a superior court which was first established in 1975 under the Family Law Act
1975 (Cth). This Act, as amended by the Family Law Reform Act 1995 (Cth) and the Family Law
Amendment (Shared Parental Responsibility) Act 2006 (Cth), states that all children have a right to
know, be cared for, and have regular contact with both parents and other significant people. This is of
course if it would be contrary to the child s best interests.
The Family Court ensures that each case and judgement concerning marriage/relationship breakdowns
involving children is treated equally with emphasis on the child and its best interests. At times mutual
agreement on the shared parental responsibility (the underlying principle of the law ... Show more

The additional considerations are very broad and include a large variety. In many circumstances, and
depending on the situation of each individual case, what the court believes to be relevant will also be
taken into account. Some main ones include:
 the views of the child (depending on age)
 each parent s ability/ willingness to encourage a close and continuing relationship between the child
and the other parent
 the possible effect of change on the child
 the nature of the relationship between the child and each parent
 any family violence/family violence order that applies to the child or their family
International laws often play a large role in the development of laws and legislation of the Australia
Legal System. An example of this is the United Nation s Convention of the Rights of the Child,
otherwise known as CROC . This has been endorsed by Australian Family Law and has become the
basis to which the best interests of the child were formed.

Comparing The Diary Of Lady Murasaki And The Tale Of Genji
Did you know that there was a time where black teeth were considered beautiful? Or that the
stationary a poem was written on was just as important the poem itself? These customs are showcased
in both The Diary of Lady Murasaki and The Tale of Genji, which are both written by Murasaki
Shikibu and set in the Heian period of Japan. Poetry and story writing were highly valued art forms
during this period, poems were usually printed on beautifully decorated stationary. As for stories, most
of them were written by women and considered classics of the time. Aesthetics were also highly
valued. From the way a ladies hair was done, the color choice of her clothing, the blackness of her
teeth, and makeup. All of these were considered determining factors of status. As for religion, during
this time it was heavily influenced by Buddhism and Shintoism. During the Heian period a huge
emphasis was placed on art, aesthetics, and religion, which is prominently featured in The Diary of
Lady Murasaki and The Tale of Genji. Poetry, music, and art were considered the most important
human accomplishments in this time period , not only was poetry a valued art form it was also a
source of expression. Lovers would use poetry as a means to communicate their love. These affairs
would either be successful or not according to the sensitivity of the poem and the beauty of the writer
s handwriting. This is seen in The Diary of Lady Murasaki when Murasaki wrote a poem to a dear
friend whom she

The Feminist Short Story Of The Great Beacons
My dear reader, you live in a universe that is replete with adventures of the unknown, mysteries of the
forgotten and falsehoods of the truth. Yet, those are all lesser tales which shall remain untold for now.
The story in which you are about to delve into is far grander than any of the former. It is possibly the
truest legend that I have collected. It has taken me several years to find each piece in this intricate tale.
I had to venture to the very darkest corners if this world, which, mind you, are difficult to find and
flagitious creatures dwell within. Other parts of the story, however, were easy to come across, and the
furthest I had to go was to the ancient maple tree at the end of the lane. I realize that you may be

It smelled like human waste and rotten flesh. There were stains of dried blood on nearly every surface,
and most appalling, on a pair of shackles, somewhat hidden in the corner by a frail, broken body. Her
frame was naturally petite, but now she was all sallow skin and protruding bones. She probably
weighed about fifty pounds. Her skin was pallid, and nearly translucent. Her face was gaunt, and her
once exquisite ebony locks were colorless from malnutrition. The only evidence that she was indeed
alive, were her vitreous gasps for breath, and her large grey eyes. Her eyes were filled with a terror I
can scarce describe. Aside from the terror, deep in her eyes was also a great suffering, one that only
intensified when she saw the bars of her cell clang open. Her name was Violet, quite fittingly, for she
was as delicate as her namesake, both in appearance, and temperament. She had been detained for
nearly a full pass of the moon, facing abhorrent treatment. She had been starved, tortured, violated,
and ridiculed by an all but venomous mob of piss drunk men. The same men who had once protected
her, even befriended her. Betrayal, that devastating mistress, was her only friend now. The looming
sentence, unjust and morbid as it may be, was almost a relief, rather than a quite literal sword hanging

19th Century Jewish Culture Essay
Emancipation and enlightenment were pivotal aspects of Jewish history and culture beginning in the
eighteenth century and continuing through to the twentieth century. Influential political figures such as
Mendelssohn laid the framework for Jewish political and social freedoms. This was a direct response
to the oppression and anti Semitism Jewish people have faced for hundreds of thousands of years.
These harsh restrictions placed on Jews worldwide included, the prohibition of full citizenship,
coerced into assimilation, programs, all eventually leading up to the terrors of the Holocaust. The late
nineteenth century, beginning with the year 1881 was an especially critical time for Russian Jewry.
During this time, Tsar Alexander II was assassinated. Russian citizens naturally used the Jews as
scapegoats as it was speculated that the Jews were responsible for his untimely death. This was highly
detrimental for the Jewish people as anti semitism soon became a state policy in Russia. As a result,
Russian Jews were subjected to brutal violence also known as pograms. ... Show more content on

Persuasive Essay On Guns
In 2001, 12,102 murders were caused by gun violence, 17,424 suicides from guns, 366 people died to
accidents involving guns, 316 deaths by guns had unknown reasons, and only 154 were confirmed to
be in self defense. 30,708 deaths from guns in total, and only 154 out of 30,708 deaths were self
defense. Those statistics are alarming. Guns are not being used with the intent to defend yourself.
Guns are being used in today s society for celebration, murders, for sport and gang activity. Guns are
used for war, by the police force and on drill teams. Guns should not be used in such instances where
citizens can harm and even kill others . They should only be utilized to protect their loved ones,
themselves and their valuables, not used as tools of murder, suicide and gang activity.
The Gun Owners Foundation says that guns save more lives than they take and prevent more injuries
than they inflict. This is not true at all, however. The usage of guns for self defense to not self defense
ratio is 1:24. For every time a gun is used in self defense, there are 24 shootings that are not. Also, the
country is deprived of 180 billion dollars per year due to gun violence. A good chunk of this money
comes from taxpayers. You re literally paying for these people s injuries that come from violence
involving firearms.

firearms. A law in a city in Florida that required at least one gun in every

How Did Joan Of Arc Changed Society
Joan of Arc was just a girl until she put on the helmet and hoisted the sword that changed the course of
her life. Joan was a soldier for France during the Hundred Years War. Not only was she a woman on
the battlefield, but she led an army at the age of 16. Both her effort in the battles and her trial majorly
changed the outcome of the war. Joan of Arc changed society and continues to influence history today
through her poor upbringing and dedicated early life, her heroics and bravery in battle, her courage
and defiance during her trial, and her role and influence as a Catholic saint.
Joan of Arc showed her caring nature even at a young age and this helped her strong influence over
the culture of her time. Joan was born in Domremy, France in 1412 with the given name of Jeanne D
Arc. This is where her common nickname Joan of Arc came from. Domremy was located in the
Champagne district of northeastern France and was the last town that remained loyal to Charles VII,
the heir to the throne of France (DISCovering Biographies). Joan, the daughter of Jacques D Arc and
Ysabeau (Isabelle) Romee, grew up on her father s farm always working in the fields (Bellitto). She
was responsible for herding sheep and cattle and working in the fields during the harvest season. Joan
never attended school and never learned to read or write. She spent most of her time at the church or
praying to the statues that surrounded it. Her religious affiliation came from her mother s strong

The American Dream Is Everyone s Dream
I think the American Dream is everybody s dream. When Ralph Lauren, the corporation, chose this
quote from their respective patriarch as the basis for an advertisement in October 2017 s issue of
Esquire Magazine, they were making a bold, blanket statement. They also made an assumption. While
this advertisement uses many traditional American stereotypes, portraying a sense of optimism and
nostalgia centered around civic nationalism, it makes a mistake in itsit s overly broad appeals that
render the ad ineffective; the American dream is not everyone s dream, it s not even every American s
dream. To make sense of this, one must define both The American Dream and eEverybody within the

The Jeep is known as the vehicle that won World War II. The family represents the idea that America
is a place where one s children can grow up to maximize their full potential. These items are all tied
together by their identity within an American context. Of these classic American stereotypes, the
cowboy hat atop Lauren s head carries with it as much nostalgia as nearly any other possible non
government affiliated symbol (i.e. the American Flag). The cowboy hat represents American concepts
such as the west, wide open spaces, and manifest destiny. A secondary interpretation, which actually
makes more sense in the context of the ad, being that the form and shape of this hat renders itself
much more commercial than functional, is that the hat references the Golden Age of Hollywood, a
time in 1950 s and 1960 s America when Western film was at its height and every young boy in
America wanted to be John Wayne.
On an even deeper analysis, one may notice that the pose of Lauren in this photograph bears a striking
resemblance to a famous portrait of President Ronald Reagan in his cowboy hat and work shirt.
President Reagan is known, at least among conservatives, as a champion of the free work. They revere
him for his economic policies that were pro capitalist and for his work to fight communism and end

Termination Criteria
In order to meet the standards approved by the President or Secretary of Defense, US forces must;
ensure energy resources from the region are available for friendly states without corruption. Secondly
transportation and key infrastructure must be maintained and/or expanded without external assistance.
Lastly the threat from Ahurastan and SAPA must be isolated or defeated.

As per the results of two surveys, I was categorized as a liberal person. I count myself as the supporter
of Democratic party in USA. However, Don Huffines who is the representative of Texas senate from
district 16 is from Republican party who tries to expand his conservative philosophy.
One of the issues I stand against is for the right to keep and bear arms. The Republican party supports
the right to keep guns but the Democratic party is against it and so am I. In this issue, my ideas
diverge with the Republican party since it opposes the laws which limit the open use of guns. Even
Don Huffines states that every Texans should have legal rights to possess their fire arms. Republican
party are against the tax regulations of guns and argue to make a strong law for carrying guns as they
believe that it s God given right. However, I am against this action of Don Huffines as it can be more
severe in some contexts. Recently, even in my college Northlake college of Irving, a girl was
murdered by a guy who had gun which happened when I was there. What is the guarantee that such
acts will not be repeated in future? Carrying guns can be easy processes to threaten anyone showing
its power and as an international student, it sometimes scares me. Obviously, by carrying guns and

dripping. As I look around, I realize that the three groups I observed last week are probably not here
tonight. I honestly think I would recognize them due to how much they stood out to me on my last
visit. It did not take long before I was hit with that same sense of sadness I experienced last Saturday.
All of the young kids and some of the adults gave me the impression of a desire for attention.
Everyone wanted to be noticed in some way which was obvious by the clothes and accessories they all
wore. I even saw a few mothers whose clothing was not any different from their teenage daughters.
The girls I see here this evening are young teens who are wearing too much makeup trying to be seen
by the young boys who are wearing expensive sneakers and saggy pants down around their buttocks.
A few of the girls I see are young mothers pushing baby strollers and conversing about the latest
fashion. One young girl I see is pushing a newborn in a stroller while yelling at another toddler about
two years old. She is trying hard to act as though it is not bothering her to have two young kids all
alone but it is apparent that she is has gotten into something much more than what she bargained for.

The real differences around the world today are not between Jews and Arabs; Protestants and
Catholics; Muslims, Croats, and Serbs. The real differences are between those who embrace peace and
those who would destroy it; between those who look to the future and those who cling to the past;
between those who open their arms and those who are determined to clench their fists (William J.

was fought on Palestine land and this is when the Arabs enter the conflict after the Zionist committed

Palestine was not considered being a part of the Map for many years. Eighteen years later Israel did a

Sistine Chapel Challenges
The Sistine chapel was built between the years of 1475 and 1483 in Vatican City and is named after
the pope who had the chapel built, Sixtus IV. One of the most impressive things about the Sistine
chapel and one of the most famous works of art in history is Michelangelo s painting on the ceiling of
the chapel. The project was completed using fresco. In 1508 Michelangelo was requested by Pope
Julius II to repaint the chapel. The Chapel at the time was painted with a blue sky and gold stars. Pope
Julius II original request was to have the chapel painted with the twelve Christian Apostles and when
the project was completed Michelangelo had created more than 3,000 figures. The ceiling was created

The first challenge and maybe the easiest for Michelangelo to overcome was the fact that he had no
experience painting with fresco and he considered himself a sculptor. The next challenge was the sheer
size of the painting at a whopping 14 meters by 40.5 meters. That is more than 132 square meters
larger than a basketball court. Completing this large of painting was a monumental task enough even
without all the other challenges faced by Michelangelo. Michelangelo accepted this commission
regardless and would continue to face many more challenges over the next four years. One of the most
obvious challenges that stood in the way of completing this challenging work of art was the fact that it
was the ceiling that needed to be painted. A local townsman offered to manufacture scaffolding for
Michelangelo that would hang from the ceiling, but Michelangelo refused because he did not want to
leave holes in the ceiling from where the scaffolding would have hung. Michelangelo then created his
own scaffolding that could be held in place by brackets in the

We Need To Obey Laws In The United States
Without the unity of citizens, there is no nation. We stand together for moral values, freedom, respect,
and justice. Our nation has survived and prosper because we follow the guidelines in our constitution
and perform our duties as Americans. I agree that we should obey the laws set forth by our
government, pay taxes in order to keep the government funded, and to defend our nation from both
foreign and domestic threats. Without following these duties, we jeopardize our nation in becoming
divided, unlawful and vulnerable .
Laws are placed for many reasons, whether it s for public safety or to keep the government funded.
Anyone living or planning to move to the United States should understand that they should follow the
laws in place. Without having laws, and enforcing them properly, you leave a door open for chaos to
occur. Murder, fraud, not paying taxes, which would make the country unlivable, would occur if we
didn t have laws in place. The United States has survived over 200 years in part because we follow and

Don Lee s Structure And Human Resources Essay
Don Lee Camp and Retreat Center sits near the mouth of the Neuse River 5 miles away from the small
town of Arapahoe, NC. Along with offering the normal camp activities like swimming and arts and
crafts, Camp Don Lee specializes in teaching young people sailing and boating skills capitalizing upon
its proximity to the Neuse River and the Atlantic Ocean. In this analysis, I argue that Camp Don Lee s
structure has elements of an adhocracy and a professional bureaucracy due to the nature of the

The Great Joys Of Reading Roald Dahl s Charlie And The...
One of the great joys of reading Roald Dahl s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, is the catharsis
experienced by the readers when four nasty children are forced to undergo some gruesome
punishments. These punishments are carried out in very creative ways, from being turned into a big
blueberry to being zapped into a TV, so that they tend to come across as refreshing and entertaining to
the audience. However, it must not be overlooked that this small book does present some horrid
actions in a positive light, including the sadistic treatment of children, removal of a large population
from work, and imperial superiority over indigenous populations. Eleanor Cameron went so far as to
deem this novel as a tasteless story that represents the nasty character of the author (Cameron).
Though she is correct in terms of some of the atrocious aspects of the book, Charlie and the Chocolate
Factory is far from being a tasteless book. On the contrary, it is a book that must be kept on the
bookshelves, to inform us of some of the darkest aspects of humanity.
The repulsiveness of Augustus Gloop, Veruca Salt, Violet Beauregard, and Mike Teavey are so
obviously revealed in the book that there is no room to doubt that they are indeed nasty. In fact, they
are never even remotely pleasant, resulting in impatient readers that cannot wait for these children to
be punished. Consequently, when karma finally catches up to these spoiled children and their parents
who have raised them that way it

Dopamine In Hypsychology
Dopamine is one of the main hypothesized physiological causes of schizophrenia (Brisch et. al.,
2014). It is involved in movement, pleasure, and cognition: all of which are impacted in
schizophrenia. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter or a chemical messenger. It is in the neurotransmitter
class of catecholamine and has both inhibitory and excitatory effects (Carlson, 2013). These effects
are seen on the postsynaptic neuron, depending on the neuron dopamine can either be inhibitory or
excitatory. Within the brain, there are three main systems that use dopamine as their neurotransmitter.
These three systems are the nigrostriatal system, mesolimbic system, and the mesocortical system
(Carlson, 2013).
The nigrostriatal system runs through the basal ganglia which is the part of the brain that controls
movement (Carlson, 2013). The mesolimbic system runs through the nucleus accumbens which plays
a role in rewarding stimuli (Carlson, 2013). The nucleus accumbens reinforces behavior such as drug
addictions. The mesocortical system has neurons in the ventral tegmental area and the prefrontal
cortex (Carlson, 2013). The parts of the brain impacted by the ... Show more content on

Receptor sites are where molecules such as neurotransmitters react to other molecules. These D2
receptor sites are specialized for dopamine based on its molecular shape and composition. For
dopamine to have an impact on a cell such as a neuron in the brain, it has to bind to these receptor
sites. There is a higher level of dopamine seen in schizophrenia (Seeman Kapur, 2000). It is not just
the excess of dopamine that can lead to schizophrenia, it is the excess of dopamine receptors. The
increased number of receptors makes the body more sensitive to the presence of dopamine. The more
receptors allows for the dopamine to go to more place leading to a high release of dopamine (Seeman

that they didn t commit. While the Scottsboro trials took place over 200 years after the Salem Witch
Trials, the circumstances surrounding both cases are extremely similar. One way in which the
Scottsboro Trials and the Salem Witch Trials are similar is that in both cases, the accused parties were
eventually proven to be innocent. In the Scottsboro Trials, all of the nine accused young men were
later found to be innocent. In April 2013, the governor of Alabama officially pardoned the Scottsboro
Boys and exonerated them of any wrong doing. In 1711, the colony of Salem restored the rights and
innocence of those accused during the Salem Witch Trials. Even though both of the accused parties
seemed guilty to the people of both Scottsboro and Salem, they were later proven ... Show more

In Scottsboro, the two young women at the center of the case, Ruby Bates and Victoria Price, weren t
the innocent young women that they were perceived as being. In reality, they were both racist
prostitutes who were frequently drunk. There should have been serious doubts to the claims that these
girls were making, especially with how severe they were. Similarly, the lead accuser during the Salem
Witch Trials was Abigail Williams who, while the trials were taking place, stole money from her
uncle, Reverend Parris, and disappeared. The evidence that the accused were witches was based on the
testimony of the young girls of the town, mainly Abigail Williams. The testimonies that the young
girls gave should have been more highly questioned given their

The Effects Of Television Violence On Our Society
Our world has a variety of problems today, with violence being at the top of the list, you go anywhere
and that is all you here about. Unfortunately it s in front page headlines of the newspaper and
broadcasted on the news as top stories. Violence is a very big topic, although it is categorized into
many small groups. There is juvenile violence, domestic violence, hate violence, terrorist violence,
and violence displaced through various forms of the media. This research will be on violence in the
media and does it affect our society. How we view television, has changed the world, no doubt in that.
Turn your television set on and pick a channel at random; the odds are that half of the programs you
come across will contain violent material. The statistics are overwhelming as I look on the internet,
read articles, and look at the research. One of the things that most interests me in the violence on
television, is the effects it has on children. Children learn by repetition while watching educational
shows, so is learning violence on television an exception? This research paper is directed to parents,
educational providers, psychologists in research, clinical practice, and individuals with public
advocacy roles and defined by education, age and gender. Both women and men will be a core
audience for this paper, as I have come across the fact that adolescent boys and adult men are more
drawn to violent television then women. It will draw both genders for different

Essay on Diagnostic Medical Sonography
Amelie Landry
Professor Evans
English 102 2WA
20 March 2012
Diagnostic Imaging: A Sound Career in Sonography One of the main reasons for choosing a
healthcare career in todays society, aside from the basic need for a self sustaining income, is the
opportunity to make differences in peoples lives. With the demand for healthcare professionals and
alternative medicines on the rise, so is the need for adequately educated trained personnel. Diagnostic
Medical Sonography is becoming an increasingly attractive alternative to radiologic procedures such
as x ray and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Accounting for approximately 50,300 jobs in the
United States in 2008, compared to the 214,000 jobs held by radiologic technicians, according to ...

Detailed oriented individuals with biological science and mathematic backgrounds contribute to the
field of sonography. The increasing demand for diagnostic imaging and therapeutic technology
promises an exceptional outlook for sonographers. The majority of diagnostic medical sonographers
are employed by hospitals, but accessibility to low cost portable ultrasound equipment has led to a
growing number of career opportunities at clinics and diagnostic centers (Rising Demand for
Diagnostic Medical Sonographers). They now have access to portable units as small as laptop
computers making commuting from hospital bedsides to clinical practices easier. Since some
sonographers make their own schedules through contracts with clinics, these portable units make
traveling much more convenient. Less means more in terms of health risks. Unlike some imaging
methods, sonography doesn t involve radiation, harmful side effects, nor complications from repeated
exposure for both patient and sonographer. Although, due to repetitive movements they are
unfortunately prone to musculoskeletal pains. In a report, Murphy and Russo show In Figure 1 an
illustration of the anatomical sites of discomfort reported by sonographers, showing that higher
numbers of respondents experienced discomfort in the shoulder, neck, low back, wrist and
hand/fingers. A sonographer must apply

  • 2. A Comparative Analysis of the Health Care System in France... A Comparative Analysis of the Health Care System in France vs the United States Introduction Everyone would agree that a good health system, above all, must contribute to good health. It is certainly not considered acceptable to protect or improve the average health of the population, if at the same time inequality worsens or remains high because the gain accrues disproportionately to those already enjoying better health. The responsibility of a health care system is also to reduce inequalities to race, gender, social status and religion. While the United States is considered a world leader in almost any category they are judged; however, the US healthcare system remains one of the worst. This analysis will compare the US health ... Any industry will show that making change based on a reaction is much less effective and more costly than making change proactively after careful consideration. And, at whose expense will reform come It will come at the expense of the American people. Expenditures Dutton, summarizing OECD statistics reported in 2005, claims that the French government pays for 78.3% of France s total health care spending which accounts for 10.4% of their GDP equating to $3048 per capita. Depressingly for the United States, health care spending makes up a much higher 15.2% of the GDP at $5711 per capita, of which the United States government is contributing only 44.6%. (Dutton, 2007, p.7) Health insurance in France is primarily funded through their Social Security System. The system is made up of many different bodies and is complicated to understand in detail. Everyone working in France must contribute to the French Social Security system and everyone (French or not, working or not, unemployed, child or retired, legal or illegal immigrant) is entitled to benefit from it with no exception; the system is rather complex and considered bureaucratic. • 3. Christopher Wren Research Paper Christopher Wren can be called the largest phenomena of English architecture of the period of the second half of 17th century and beginning of 18th century. His life is free from the rebellious quest of the previous generation and to the brim is filled with often very bold, but sure and planned development of what has been achieved in the field of exact sciences and then architecture. Fine arts, literature and, in general, the humanities, apparently did not fascinate him. The son of the abbot of Windsor Abbey and the nephew of the bishop, and hence the representative of the privileged social stratum, with its settled way of life and influential connections, Christopher received a brilliant education at that time and early surrendered to scientific interests, discovering, like many ... However, Wren went down in history, first of all, as the most outstanding architect of his country. To the architecture of Wren turned relatively late, in the thirty third year of life, and then after repeated insistence of influential customers. This in itself testifies to a new attitude to architecture, perceived by that time as an activity requiring deep, diverse knowledge and a broad outlook. And one of the turning point in his life, which led to appeal to architecture, was the Great Fire of London in 1666. Wren creates a project for a radical redevelopment of the city, rejected, however, by the reactionary authorities. At the same time, Wren received the order for the construction his the most monumental structure of the St. Paul s Cathedral in London and rebuilding burned churches, of which he built more than ... • 4. The Impact Of Overfishing On The Environmental Balance As far back as the history of man, humans have been dependent on the ocean and water resources for food and survival. While hundreds of years of single handed fishing rods in coastal and inland water channels have not alone been the root cause of overfishing, these common practices today still impact the environmental balance. Ocean overfishing is the removal or taking of wildlife from the oceans and seas at rates too high for fished species to replace themselves and is a threat that exists to our way of life. Overfishing can occur by commercial fishing, single person excessive fishing in a particular area of a body of water, or by other natural predatory activity. A recent report by scientists said that if commercial fish species the fish caught for food continue to decline at the current rate, by the year 2048 most commercial fish species will be in danger of never recovering because of the break in the natural ecosystem which would affect the diversity of wildlife in the ocean (Kurlansky, 2011). As a human species, we are responsible for educating each other on this worldwide concern to help save our planet. If this isn t a reason to begin efforts of worldwide education on overfishing, what is? The impact of overfishing has long term consequences on the human race and the animal population as it threatens our biological balance and our ecosystem. The Importance Of Evidence Based Assessment Review the care given and provide an evidence based critique of that care It is vitally important to initiate accurate documentation and assessment when performing a patients observation as this can clearly prevent and identify acute poor health (Mulryan, 2011). On the other hand, an observation assessment can to often be performed accurately and incorrectly (Mulryan, 2011). For that reason, a nurse s ability, knowledge, competence and documentation are all paramount when assessing a patient stability (Mulryan, 2011). On evaluating the care that was given to Sam, when being assessed every four hours for vital signs, by nurses involved in her care. Firstly, Sam was on medication for pain relief which was helping keep her pain free. As she stated when asked in the PSA if she was in pain, Sam stated that she was not in any pain at the time. Evidence based practice recommends that a nurse should give the patient regular analgesic and PRN analgesic when needed (Park et al, 2016). Inadequately managed pain can lead to adverse physical and psychological patient outcomes for individual patients and their families (Park et al, 2016). inadequate pain management negatively affect the patient s welfare and the hospital performance because of extended lengths of stay and readmissions, both of which increase the cost of care (Park et al, 2016). Satire In Lysistrata Satire, Sex and the Role of Women in Ancient Greece Aristophanes comedy, Lysistrata, uses satire to show the issue of war between ancient Greek cities and uses women and sex as a weapon to explain the futility of war. Aristophanes was a playwright, landowner and political representative in Athens born around 450 BCE. He is considered by many to be like Father of Ancient Comedy. All of Aristophanes comedies show commentary on the contemporary society and the Peloponnesian War between Athens and Sparta. The comedy that I will be analyzing today, Lysistrata, was produced in 411 BCE and involves a sex strike to end the war. In this essay, I will show how Lysistrata reflects and satirizes the dominance of males in Athenian society, show how the convention of cross dressing conveys the message of male dominance and speculate how an Athenian society might have responded to men dressed as women outsmarting men. ... Vanity Fair s strategic growth plan includes expanding into markets outside the United States, countries such as Russia, India, and China, and expanding its direct to consumer business by creating its own stores and online based retailing. Vanity Fair s president, Chris Fraser proposes the third way sourcing to lower cost. The complexity of the product line and the wide variety of the brands needs and priorities make it difficult for Vanity fair to run its supply chain. It is a challenge for Vanity Fair to keep up with the continuously changing product designs. Rapid replenishment is also a challenge. Major retailers required Vanity fair to replenish inventories within 8 days so they can minimize inventory costs. In this area, Vanity Fair competes with Zara, which is known for fast replenishment of inventory throughout a season. Therefore, Vanity Fair needs a responsive and flexible supply chain. This is where a neighbor may turn into a walker (slang of zombies, and infected) and probably they should consider murdering him or her with an unsharpened object. This blunt object, the horrendous zombies, and the expressions of the characters are well represented by Tony Moore through the art in this book. The Increasing Weight Of The Union The increasing weight of the Union since its creation in 1951 has elevated the community to the international stage as an indubitable power and encouraged the debate about the characterization of the EU, fostered by the involvement from European political science scholars. Scholars have came up with a sui generis definition of the EU in the sense that it neither is an intergovernmental organization nor a federal state.4 Still, the novelty of the Union does not bound itself to the definition of the nature of European institutional set up. Indeed, the discussion between scholars goes further towards the characterization of the European power. To understand Manner s theory, let us first have a look at its inspirations. The concept of civilian power (CP) was mostly developed by F.Duchêne in 1973. He defined it as a civilian group long on economic power and relatively short on armed forces .5 This concept can be said to be the basis of Manners NPE theory. Moravcsik deepened F.Duchêne s definition arguing that the EU s CP «does not lie in the deployment of battalions or bomber, but rather in the quiet promotion of democracy and development through trade, foreign aid and peacekeeping». 6 In a word, both definitions imply that CP privileges means others than military ones in its foreign policy. As a matter of fact, the civilian conceptualization of Europe puts the emphasis on negociacion, multilateralism, economic instruments and diplomacy rather than privileging a ... Persuasive Essay On Guns In 2001, 12,102 murders were caused by gun violence, 17,424 suicides from guns, 366 people died to accidents involving guns, 316 deaths by guns had unknown reasons, and only 154 were confirmed to be in self defense. 30,708 deaths from guns in total, and only 154 out of 30,708 deaths were self defense. Those statistics are alarming. Guns are not being used with the intent to defend yourself. Guns are being used in today s society for celebration, murders, for sport and gang activity. Guns are used for war, by the police force and on drill teams. Guns should not be used in such instances where citizens can harm and even kill others . They should only be utilized to protect their loved ones, themselves and their valuables, not used as tools of murder, suicide and gang activity. The Gun Owners Foundation says that guns save more lives than they take and prevent more injuries than they inflict. This is not true at all, however. The usage of guns for self defense to not self defense ratio is 1:24. For every time a gun is used in self defense, there are 24 shootings that are not. Also, the country is deprived of 180 billion dollars per year due to gun violence. A good chunk of this money comes from taxpayers. You re literally paying for these people s injuries that come from violence involving firearms. The Gun Owners Foundation says that criminals do not feel comfortable with civilians that carry firearms. A law in a city in Florida that required at least one gun in every ... • 25. How Did Joan Of Arc Changed Society Joan of Arc was just a girl until she put on the helmet and hoisted the sword that changed the course of her life. Joan was a soldier for France during the Hundred Years War. Not only was she a woman on the battlefield, but she led an army at the age of 16. Both her effort in the battles and her trial majorly changed the outcome of the war. Joan of Arc changed society and continues to influence history today through her poor upbringing and dedicated early life, her heroics and bravery in battle, her courage and defiance during her trial, and her role and influence as a Catholic saint. Joan of Arc showed her caring nature even at a young age and this helped her strong influence over the culture of her time. Joan was born in Domremy, France in 1412 with the given name of Jeanne D Arc. This is where her common nickname Joan of Arc came from. Domremy was located in the Champagne district of northeastern France and was the last town that remained loyal to Charles VII, the heir to the throne of France (DISCovering Biographies). Joan, the daughter of Jacques D Arc and Ysabeau (Isabelle) Romee, grew up on her father s farm always working in the fields (Bellitto). She was responsible for herding sheep and cattle and working in the fields during the harvest season. Joan never attended school and never learned to read or write. When Ralph Lauren, the corporation, chose this quote from their respective patriarch as the basis for an advertisement in October 2017 s issue of Esquire Magazine, they were making a bold, blanket statement. They also made an assumption. While this advertisement uses many traditional American stereotypes, portraying a sense of optimism and nostalgia centered around civic nationalism, it makes a mistake in itsit s overly broad appeals that render the ad ineffective; the American dream is not everyone s dream, it s not even every American s dream. The Jeep is known as the vehicle that won World War II. The family represents the idea that America is a place where one s children can grow up to maximize their full potential. Of these classic American stereotypes, the cowboy hat atop Lauren s head carries with it as much nostalgia as nearly any other possible non government affiliated symbol (i.e. the American Flag). The cowboy hat represents American concepts such as the west, wide open spaces, and manifest destiny. A secondary interpretation, which actually makes more sense in the context of the ad, being that the form and shape of this hat renders itself much more commercial than functional, is that the hat references the Golden Age of Hollywood, a time in 1950 s and 1960 s America when Western film was at its height and every young boy in America wanted to be John Wayne. On an even deeper analysis, one may notice that the pose of Lauren in this photograph bears a striking resemblance to a famous portrait of President Ronald Reagan in his cowboy hat and work shirt. President Reagan is known, at least among conservatives, as a champion of the free work. They revere him for his economic policies that were pro capitalist and for his work to fight communism and end the Cold War. One of the most obvious challenges that stood in the way of completing this challenging work of art was the fact that it was the ceiling that needed to be painted. One of the great joys of reading Roald Dahl s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, is the catharsis experienced by the readers when four nasty children are forced to undergo some gruesome punishments. These punishments are carried out in very creative ways, from being turned into a big blueberry to being zapped into a TV, so that they tend to come across as refreshing and entertaining to the audience. However, it must not be overlooked that this small book does present some horrid actions in a positive light, including the sadistic treatment of children, removal of a large population from work, and imperial superiority over indigenous populations. Eleanor Cameron went so far as to deem this novel as a tasteless story that represents the nasty character of the author (Cameron). Though she is correct in terms of some of the atrocious aspects of the book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is far from being a tasteless book. On the contrary, it is a book that must be kept on the bookshelves, to inform us of some of the darkest aspects of humanity. The repulsiveness of Augustus Gloop, Veruca Salt, Violet Beauregard, and Mike Teavey are so obviously revealed in the book that there is no room to doubt that they are indeed nasty. • 38. Dopamine In Hypsychology Dopamine is one of the main hypothesized physiological causes of schizophrenia (Brisch et. al., 2014). It is involved in movement, pleasure, and cognition: all of which are impacted in schizophrenia. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter or a chemical messenger. It is in the neurotransmitter class of catecholamine and has both inhibitory and excitatory effects (Carlson, 2013). These effects are seen on the postsynaptic neuron, depending on the neuron dopamine can either be inhibitory or excitatory. Within the brain, there are three main systems that use dopamine as their neurotransmitter. These three systems are the nigrostriatal system, mesolimbic system, and the mesocortical system (Carlson, 2013). The nigrostriatal system runs through the basal ganglia which is the part of the brain that controls movement (Carlson, 2013). The mesolimbic system runs through the nucleus accumbens which plays a role in rewarding stimuli (Carlson, 2013). The nucleus accumbens reinforces behavior such as drug addictions. The mesocortical system has neurons in the ventral tegmental area and the prefrontal cortex (Carlson, 2013). The parts of the brain impacted by the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
