My documentary will focus on how modern technology has changed policing over the years. It will examine body cameras, ANPR systems, and thermal imaging and how they have helped police solve crimes and stay safe. Through an interview with a retired police officer, cutaway footage, and images, the documentary aims to educate viewers about the impacts of modern policing techniques. I have scheduled a week-long production that will involve interviewing the retired officer at his home over three days of filming, followed by four days of editing to produce the final documentary.

3. Mood board analysis
My mood board conveys modern types of policing through all of the images. For example I have images of ANPR
cameras, Body cameras, thermal imaging cameras and Tasers. All of these images are modern types of technology that
have had a big impact on policing over the years. All of these modern techniques have helped to solve and prevent
crime over the years. Overall gathering images for a mood board has helped me to gather my ideas into one place,
visually, and give my subject a prime focus.
4. Content:
My product is a factual documentary about modern policing and the changes in policing over the years due to it. I will go
into details about how different technology has benefited the job and made the police safer, solved more crimes and
prevented crimes. The different types of technology that will be referenced are, Body cameras, Thermal imaging cameras
and ANPR systems. The purpose of my project is to show the impacts of modern policing and how it has changed. I want
to educate the audience on this subject and give them a further insight into the changes and impacts of modern
policing. To appeal to my audience I will be using different documentary techniques such as interviews, actuality footage
and cutaways. I am going to use an interview to carry the whole product. I want the whole documentary to be the
interviewee speaking and I will use cutaways such as different images of medals, certificates and old photos to break up
the interview. I will also use actuality footage to keep the subject relevant and to give the audience something visual to
see whilst the interviewee talks about it. I am also using different cutaways of medals, certificates and old photos
because it makes the audience feel more connected to the interviewee as they are seeing his achievements and his past
photos. This will make the audience trust the information more and educate them as they feel like they are listening to
an actual police officer and not just an actor.
