2. Mind Map
IDEA
S
Hip-Hop Fanzine
Music FanzineMy idea for this would to create
a fanzine about the hip-hop
genre, the culture and
movement. I would talk about
where the culture started to
where it is today.
My idea for this would be to
create fanzine based on a
specific artist. This would
include information such as the
artists background, there up
bringing etc. this would be
different than the hip-hop one
because I am looking at the
one artist instead of the genre
Fashion Fanzine
My ideas is to create a street wear
fashion fanzine. This would include
the history of streetwear and how it
has evolved throughout time. I will
look at current brands such as
supreme and off white and explain
how they have changed the
industry.
Hip – Hop Documentary
Hans Global Documentary
Create a documentary about
the security company Hans
Global and behind the scenes
of the sport industryMy idea is to create a hip-hop
documentary documenting the
evolution of the hip-hop genre
and culture . This would be
similar to the hip-hop fanzine
but in a video format instead
3. Final Idea
My final idea is to film a documentary series of the company Hans Global. Hans Global are a
security company that work with many people within the sports industry such as the England
football team , Brazil football and formula 1 race car drivers. The documentary will be based
around the CEO of the company and I will have him to talk about his business and his
experience within this industry and how he got to where he is today. I will ask him questions
about the people he has worked with and when he is talking I will include videos and pictures
over the top of the interview about these questions so that it makes it more interesting rather
than just watching the one video without it changing at all. I will ask questions that my target
audience will find interesting and get him to tell different story's.
4. Mood Board
These images on my mood board here reflect my work as the football and formula 1 will link
into the questions from the interview and the videos that I will include in the interview. The
security guards next to the cars represent the type of security that it is which is close up
protection.
6. Mood Board Analysis
My mood board inspires my final product as this is the mood / vibe I am going for. The sport
photos all link in with the interview where it will be talking about the industry and include
photos of footballer on screen. In the second mood board I have in stills from interviews
and this will help my final product because it allows me to look at the shots used within
existing documentary's and allows me to include this into my own work to make my product
look like a professional product. It also gives the audience an idea on what to expect when
they watch my documentary.
7. Demographics
The average age of a security guard in 41 years old and 78% of security guards
are male. From the 20th November 2019 the average hourly rate of a security
guard in the UK is £8.71.
8. Target Audience
My target audience for this project would be sport fans that are interested
with the industry and want to find out about more about behind the scenes
of the sporting world. This could be from football fans to formula 1 . My
target audience could also be businesses that are interested with hiring Hans
global as well as other people that are in the security and close up protection
industry that are interested with finding out more information. My primary
audience would also be older people aged 30+ that are males. To make the
video appeal to this audience I would upload it online to sites such as
YouTube and Facebook

11. Conventions
Some conventions of documentary's are that they often include re-enactments of real
events so that the consumer has a better understanding of what the interviewee is talking
about and it will help the consumer to vision it better. Another common convention that is
used in documentary's is that they have a structure to tell a story which can be done in a
various different ways from footage of events, voiceovers, to interviews. Interviews are a
common convention in documentary's because it allows the interviewee to talk directly to
the audience and this gives them a sense of realism. They also include voice over
narrations, and real footage of events. Documentary's and interviews include a variety of
different camera angles and shots the most common ones that are used would be a
medium close up shot and a close up shot as this allows the consumer to see facial
expressions and feel more engaged with the documentary. Another convention is that they
all look very natural. Ie look like they have natural lighting. finally another convention that I
have noticed when watching many different interviews is that they tend to fade in and out
of the different shots.
13. Contingency Planning
Potential Issue Solution
SD Card Full Make sure that the SD card has been
cleared so that there is enough storage on
the SD card so it doesn’t get full half way
through the interview and stop filming.
Camera runs out of power. Make sure the camera battery is charged
the night before so that the battery is fully
charged and the camera doesn’t die when
you are halfway through the interview.
Wrong Format Before you film the interview make sure
that the camera is set to the correct
settings that you want to film the
interview in.
Microphone Doesn't Work Check before the shoot that the audio is
working and that it is all set up for the
camera so that when you record you can
hear the audio clearly.
14. Research
In lesson we looked at various different techniques for when it comes to filming our interviews.
We had different lessons where we focused on different topics. The first lesson we looked at
lighting for our interviews and how to set up different lights and the best way to set up the lights
for our interview to get the effect that we want. We looked at monolights to led studio lights.
We looked at how to set them up effectively whilst using light reflectors to get the most out of
the lighting. This was useful because it allowed us to reflect the light to exactly where we
wanted it to go and gave us more freedom when setting up the lighting. We at looked at the
different camera lenses we can use and where the camera positing should go depending on
what sort of shot you want. The second lesson we looked more into the theory side about how
to ask the questions and how to word them so they sound professional.
15. Questions
-Begin the interview with the interviewee introducing who they are and about their
business.
Questions
----------------
1) How did you get your business started?
2) What made you set up a security company?
3) who is the most interesting celebrity that you have looked after?
4) What has been the most interesting part of your job?
5) Who ate the most interesting celebrities that you have worked with?
6) what is one of the most interesting story from your job that you will always
remember ?
17. Colour Scheme analysis
From looking at the different colour schemes I think for my interview I will try and
chose a natural colour scheme and use simple colours like grey, navy , black and
white. The colour white works well because it conveys truth and simplicity. Grey is a
good colour that works well with interviews because it represents sophistication.
These colours also look aesthetically pleasing and will make the interview look
professional,
19. Style Sheet Analysis
Overall from looking at the different texts from my style sheet I think the best fonts for me
to use in my interview would be Avenir Next or verdana or Helvetica as these fonts are
very [plain and simple which is what you want if you are having texts in an interview
because it keeps the interview looking professional
I don’t like this Stencil text because it looks like something that you would see on some army
product and I don’t think that this text would work with my interview.
I think this Avenir Next font would work well for my interview because the text is very plan
and simple. It allows the audience to be able to read the font easily. This font w ould be good
to use for when I ask the questions.
20. Font Summary
For my font that I use in the video I will chose a font that is fairly
simple however I will chose a bold font so that it looks
professional within my work and goes well with the interview
however because it is bold it can easily be read on top of photos.
I think a good font to use would be something like Helvetica ,
Verdana or Thonburi. This will be good fonts because it is easy to
read and it looks professional so that it looks conventional for
this sort of interview.
21. Shot List
• Medium Close Up Shot camera
• Medium Shot
When filming an interview position the interviewee
sat slightly to the left looking just past the camera
at the interviewer.
When filming the interview I will have two camera angles. I will have a medium close up shot
filming a natural angle with the interviewee looking to the left past the camera (as seen in the
photo above) and the second camera will be a medium shot filming the side of the interviewee.
