associated neurodegeneration)
Hallervorden-Spatz syndrome
■ The "eye" corresponds to the low
signal globus pallidus with the
central focus of high signal. The
low signal is secondary to the iron
deposition.

compressive myelopathy, ALS,
cervical spondylotic amyotrophy,
Hirayama disease, and ossification
of posterior longitudinal ligament
■ On axials, the gray matter is seen
to be oedematous and
hyperintense, giving the 'snake
eyes' sign.

 The facial nerve on coronal CT
 Posterior to the genu of the facial
nerve, the tympanic and labyrinthine
segments are seen as two 'dots'
which look like eyes of a snake

of the calvaria coupled with
prominent orbits gives the fetus the

be seen in unilateral or bilateral
coronal suture synostosis, and
refers to the elevation of the
superolateral corner of the orbit.

an orbital floor or medial wall
fracture
■ On plain facial radiograph, lucent
intra-orbital air gives the
appearance of a black eye brow.

of a pedicle
■ Neurofibromatosis
■ Radiation therapy
