This document describes the procedure to plot the V-I characteristic curve of a zener diode. The necessary apparatus includes a regulated power supply, milliammeter, voltmeter and multimeter. The circuit diagram connects a zener diode and resistor in a reverse biased configuration. By increasing the input voltage in steps and measuring the current and voltages, the characteristic curve is obtained, showing the small reverse current until the zener voltage is reached, after which current rises sharply with little change in voltage.
