Dagoberto Gilb Narcissism
Do you know the story of Narcissus? He was the very handsome fellow in Greek mythology
who, because of his indifference and disdain toward others, was punished by the gods by falling
in love with his own image. He was so enraptured by his beauty that he was unable to pull himself
away from his own reflection, and he wasted away and died. Narcissismis also considered a social
and cultural problem in America. It s not surprising to see a rise in narcissism in this generation
given that young people are being bombarded by these messages and sorts of commercial all day,
every day through every form of media. It is the same with Jake who is the main character in the
story Love in L.A by Dagoberto Gilb. In the story, Jake is consumed with himself and with
gaining more pleasure for himself. He wants much more than he has, and he wants it for him to be
appraised by many women and finally fell in love with him. He clearly sees himself as a ladies
man and uses every opportunity to COLLECT them. He thinks that having all the luxurious things
will make him feel like invincible, like he is the greatest human being that god created.... Show

Although many will argue that narcissism is just a behavior that will not pose any danger to
anyone, Gilb has a theme of narcissism, showing us that young and adult people these days are
being infected with this narcissism because of being materialistic, having unmanaged stress, and
easy access on social

Essay on Morality in the Elizabethan Era
Morality in the Elizabethan Era Values and morals of the Victorian era are quite different than
those that our society upholds today. The satirical plays, A Doll s House by Henrik Ibsen, and
Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw, examine the problems with certain beliefs held by the
people, both men and women, of the Victorian age. Furthermore, the people in general didn t not
just hold certain morals, but the different classes in the Victorian society also held their own
beliefs on moral code. Of which, the middle class beliefs are most closely examined in both plays.
Men and women were expected by others in Victorian society to uphold certain moral behaviors.
These expectations caused many problems for the individual that upheld them... Show more content

This time the women are seen expecting the man to care for them, like in Freddy s case. You
really are very helpless, Freddy. Go again; and don t come back until you have found a cab
(Shaw 574). Because Freddy is a male, he is expected by his mother and sister to find a cab for
them in the rain when there are none in sight. Even on the streets men will defend women who
they don t even know. What business is it of yours? You mind your own affairs....Nice thing a
girl cant shelter from the rain without being insulted, (Shaw 576). Bystanders noticing the
flower girl is upset by the note taker, they defend her, if she were a man they would have
expected her to fend for herself. The second requirement that makes a man a man in Victorian
times is his perfect family. There they are!...Look at them, Christine! Aren t they darlings?
(Ibsen 19). Nora is showing off her perfect little children to her friend Mrs. Linde. Yes, take a
good look at her. I think she is worth looking at. Isn t she charming, Mrs. Linde? (Ibsen 53).
Torvald is now showing off his prize trophy, his wife, as if Mrs. Linde really cares. With a
perfect wife and children Torvald can be seen as a true hard working, good man. Yet, many times
these seemingly good values are flawed underneath. There are many problems with these values
imposed on men in Victorian times. In the case of protecting his woman, we see Torvald s true
colors in the end of the play after he discovers Nora s

6 Spiritual Lessons Learned From Watching Michael Phelps...
The article 6 Spiritual Lessons Learned from Watching Michael Phelps is a personal reflection of
what Tony Homsy, the author, learned and what he was inspired by watching Michael Phelps in
the Olympics in Rio. The first thing Tony learned was that you cannot always get what you want.
He writes about how he was not able to find or watch the video of Michael Phelpsgold medal
winning relay. The second thing that he learned was that life consists of numerous high and low
points. Tony learned that Phelps life was full of peaks and valleys. Phelps has gone from living in
a rehab facility to winning gold medals. By watching and reading about the Olympics, Tony
realizes that sharing our struggles gives us hope and that life is not always

How Does Romulus My Father Relate To Belonging
It is in human nature to strive towards a sense of Belonging, a process that incites the creation, or
deterioration of a sense of personal and cultural identification. The memoir, Romulus, My Father,
by Raimond Gaita; John Guare s play, Six Degrees of Separation; and Tim Winton s short story, Big
World, from the collection, The Turning, explore the concept that Belonging is the driving force for
the human condition. Each composer represents their varied perceptions of belonging in their texts,
conveying that Belonging as a fundamental need we strive for in our search to create a concrete
identity.
The memoir, Romulus, My Father, portrays the ways in which immigrants in 1950 s rural Victoria
struggled to be accepted in a foreign society, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Guare uses the post modern technique of fragmentation to purposely distance the audience from the
action. This technique causes the audience to immediately see the fear of rejection and isolation by
society felt by the characters, provoking the audience to reflect the characters determination to be
accepted.
Guares darker twist on the need to belong is represented through the central motif of the play, the
Kandinsky, the two sided painting, a metaphor for the different dimensions of a person. Guare
seems to be suggesting that to belong in our modern society, we must follow the rules dictated by
society and hide our true desires. This is enhanced by the characterization of Ouisa and Flan who
present themselves as courteous, but expose the audience to their true intentions of striving to
connect to a higher social class: Having a rich friend is like drowning, and your friend makes life
boats. The character Paul is a symbol of this determination and desperation, creating the persona of
Sidney Poitier s son for the acknowledgement and acceptance he receives from it. He uses deception
of his true identity to minimize social marginalization and fulfill his emotional need to connect.
Like Romulus, Paul becomes a representation of the impact of rejection, forging multiple
personalities in an attempt to connect to what he believes he deserves. This is Guare s central
irony; Paul has attempted to belong by forming these personas but they ultimately cause him

Benefits Of Using Generic Drugs For Cancer And Autoimmune...
In 2014, it was estimated that Americans spent over $373 billion on pharmaceuticals, which is an
increase of 13 percent and considered the highest increase since 2001. With the Affordable Care Act
in place, it is estimated that patients filled approximately 24 percent more prescriptions in 2014
than in 2013. There are several reasons to account for this spending growth. The first is the
increased spending of $20 billion on new medication brands. Secondly, over 161,000 people started
treatment for hepatitis C treatment, which is approximately ten times more than the previous year.
The third reason is an increase for recent innovative treatment for cancer and autoimmune diseases
(IMShealth.com, 2015). With health care spending continuing to rise, Americans have at least three
options to help reduce out of pocket expenses. Cost saving methods include switching from brand
name drugs to generic medications, discussing potential alternative medications that are less
expensive with healthcare providers, and rallying lawmaker to change current laws to restrict the
amount pharmaceutical companies can charge for medications.
Generic Drugs
In 2012, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reported that in 2004, the average price for
generic prescription drug was $28.74, while the average price of a brand name prescription drug
was $96.01. The FDA recognizes that the high price of medications puts the public at a high health
risk. To help Americans be able to have access

The Pros And Cons Of Aeronautical Drafting
Aeronautical Drafting and what makes it unique Aeronautical Drafting is unique compared to other
drafting jobs. Aeronautical Drafting is unique to me because I feel that the amount of
responsibility that an Aeronautical drafter has with his/her job is considerably more than that of a
civil or mechanical drafter. In most cases a civil or mechanical drafter does not design object that
will impact people s lives the way that designing a plane or missile can. education Aeronautical
drafting requires education just as any other drafting job out there. Anybody can download a CAD
program and know a little bit about it and still not have the knowledge you need going into a job

A Report On The European Union
The European Union contains just 7% of the world s population, but produces 1/3 of the world s
Gross National Product (Delegation of the EU to the US). A single market merges all 28
countries of the EU into one economic free trade zone with no trade tariffs imposed on one
another. The EU accounts for 51% of all trade that the UK conducts with the world (The Data
Team 2). Since its admittance to the Union in 1973, Britain s economy has grown from 326
million Euros per capita to 6,116 million Euros per capita in quarter four of 2012. Despite its
economic benefits, many have voiced concern over its undemocratic practices. In a summary of the

In order to recover from its economic losses, President Schuman of France proposed a single
market for the free trade of coal and steel. In an address delivered to the French Assembly, he
remarked, The pooling of coal and steel production... will change the destinies of those regions
which have long been devoted to the manufacture of munitions of war, of which they have been the
most constant victims. President Schuman s motives were not only the rebuilding of Europe s
economy, but also the assurance that Germany and France would never get into another war again.
In 1951, the Treaty of Paris was officially signed establishing the European Coal and Steel
Community (European Commission). The countries of Luxembourg, Belgium, The Netherlands,
France, West Germany, and Italy were the first countries to join.
As these countries experienced economic success, they hoped to expand the Coal and Steel
Community to something much more vast. In the Treaty of Rome in 1957, the European Economic
Community was established (CVCE). The EEC didn t just allow the free trade of coal and steel, but
also eliminated all trade tariffs completely. This enticed other countries including Britain to join the
Community. As the EEC continued to expand and prosper, it also started venturing into the role of
governing. It sought to emulate the model of that of

Stereotypes In Of Coming Of John
The next race to come across some major stereotypes are the African Americans. Although every
race has the ordeal that it had to go through one of the worse challenges that were thought of were
given to the African Americans which made life horrible for them in the past, still in the present,
and more than likely in the future as well. In the short story Of Coming of John, by W.E.B. DuBois
It was perceived that when it comes to education matters the African Americancommunity is not
very upcoming while the caucasian community is always very pleased and supportive of everything
that someone of their racedoes. In the short story when the black John had decided that he wanted

Even more evidence of the racial stereotypes that is given to African American people is evident
in Native Son, when it was stated that all black men want to do is go out and rape white women,
(Wright page 351 ). This places a stereotype upon us that is ultimately hard to escape from, with
people running from you without even taking the chance to get to know you and you having to
prove yourself to them from a distance, even though deep down you know you will never be
good enough to please them. While most forms of racial stereotypes follow in the fashion of
others judging you because of the rumors they hear, it also comes in the form of them using very
invective language towards you. As seen by Richard Wright on page 337, all of the white people
were calling Bigger racial names and racial slurs in an attempt to try and dehumanize him from all
other humans so that way they feel better for the horrible way that they were treating

Comparing Duchess Of Malfi And Midsummer Night s Dream
In the plays, The Duchess of Malfi by John Webster and Midsummer Night s Dream by William
Shakespeare, the main female characters can be put together from either story for easy
comparison. The Duchess and Cariola, from The Duchess of Malfi, can be compared to Hermia
and Helena, from a Midsummer Night s Dream, respectively as they serve as foils, even though
they appear in different plays. The reaction they have towards authority creates this comparison as
they act similarly to each other when it turns against them. The Duchess and Hermia, both devious
and defiant, attempts to escape their problems, as others treat Cariola and Helena poorly and cannot
deal with the problems when times get tough.
The Duchess and Hermia are torn away from their new lovers, and they both take similar action to
resolve their problems. Widowed in early age, the Duchess, a strong willed, loving wife and
mother, loses her bond in love but quickly finds love again. She finds Antonio, but her brothers
demand her not to continue; therefore she runs away. Hermia, a passionate woman with a strong
will to love the one she cannot, gets restricted from love due to her father s strong will and law. The
Duchess, in secret, does what she wants with Antonio by hastily marrying him, and having three
children. Hermia, with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Charles Darwin s Life
Charles Darwin was an English naturalist, which is now known as a biologist, who is best known
for his contributions to the theory of evolution by natural selection and his interest in the
Galapagos Islands through the adaption of species. The life of Darwin was highly influenced
through his childhood. His family greatly helped Charles with their financial and moral support
aboard the H.M.S. Beagle, the voyage [which] took nearly five years, from December 1831 to
October 1836. (American Museum of Natural History). In particular, the Galapagos and South
America greatly intrigued Darwin, where he discovered species such as the marine iguana, the
giant tortoise, the finch, and the blue footed booby (Cappadocia). It was due to the research... Show

The distribution of plants and animals in the Galapagos was puzzling to Darwin; where did
these species originate from? Why don t the same species appear in similar environments? Many
species only lived on the Galapagos and sometimes, only one certain island. How did these
species end up there? There were species on the Galapagos such as insects and reptiles that
resembled some species in South America, but were also different in very slight ways. Darwin
began to wonder if species would travel to the Galapagos, and then adapt to their new
environments over time. If two species came from a common ancestor, it would make sense for
them to live together. For example, Darwin s finches he discovered on the Galapagos had
differently sized beaks. These beaks would differ in size according to the area these birds were in
their appearance and behavior quickly adapted to this closed and rapidly changing environment.

Whistler Bike Park Research Paper
Within 10 months I hope to be able to save and plan for a summer trip to Whistler Bike Park in
British Columbia. I have always loved mountain biking as a hobby to both stay in shape and have a
blast doing it. Within the past two years I have gotten into downhill mountain biking. A discipline
where you take a shuttle up to the top of a trail/mountain, and riding extreme trails downhill. These
trails have large features such as jumps, gaps, drops. The risk is definitely increased but the
adrenaline rush of nailing a feature that has been on your mind for a while is a crazy rush.

As a car enthusiast myself, I love the internal combustion engine, but electric cars are absolutely
the future. Electric cars provide the efficiency that we have lacked for decades. The
environmental impact is extremely reduced and on average, the cost per mile is less. Going full
electric is the next step after hybrids in vehicle efficiency. While we have preliminary examples
such as Tesla, many other companies are beginning to produce flagship electric vehicles. Electric
is also the future of performance vehicles. The instant torque that electric motors provide
outclasses almost all combustion engines. BMW just announced their future plans to produce
performance electric and I expect many other manufacturers to follow suit. As more and more
cars are produced our charging technology and infrastructure will likely expand. This will make
cross country trips in electric vehicles a lot more accessible. While many consumers are weary of
the technology at this point, I predict that as the technology develops and more cars are put into
production, consumers will open up to the idea and electric will become the new norm in car
culture. Compared to combustion engines, electric is quiet, efficient, fast, and will likely become
universal on the

How Does Priestley Create Tension In An Inspector Calls
An Inspector Calls is a play written by J.B. Priestly in 1945. The play, which is set in 1912,
illustrates the vast status difference in society at the time. Priestly wanted to show to the
audience a more dramatic look at the relationship between the wealthy and the poor. Priestley, a
socialist, believed that we are all part of a community and have responsibilities to look after one
another. Using the inspector as a mouthpiece, Priestley was able to cleverly convey his ideas of
socialism and community under the idea of a murder mystery. From the very beginning of Act
One, Priestly emphasizes the birling families, spoilt and rich nature, fairly large suburban house .

She is a character that evolves as the play goes on, understanding her role in society and how she
must look after each other. She is immediately upset at the death of Eva Smith; even with
knowing which class she belonged to, Oh how horrible! . The use of punctuation for effect, ! ,
shows how Sheila is the second person (the first being Eric) so far to react so openly at the death
of this young woman. Priestley uses this to emphasize the cold nature of the upper class, and
how Mr. Birling seemed almost irritated at the fact that his night was being disturbed by such an
insignificant reason, rather impatiently . The adverb impatiently portrays Mr. Birling s cold
and hard nature. This shows how living in the upper class has made him indifferent to death and
so has little emotion things like that. Sheila understands that everybody is human, therefore

influence can be depending on your class. Just because Sheila was a woman in the upper class, a

Richard Byrd s The Cold War
The Cold War, spanning almost half a century, was a conflict that accelerated the production of
nuclear weapons and forced the United States and the other belligerent, the Soviet Union, to make
scientific advances at a rate unseen in any other time in human history. The Cold War Comes to
Main Street: America in 1950, written by Lisle A. Rose, thoroughly examines the year 1950 in the
United States and the effect that the Cold Warhad on the American populous. Rose examines
communism and the military threat that it posed on the nation and how this impacted American
society and the generation that endured World War II. Lisle A. Rose is a historian who has also
written Power at Sea and Explorer: The Life of Richard Byrd. Power at Sea examines the impact
naval superiority by countries around the globe has had on humans worldwide from the late
1800s well into the early 1900s. Another book written about significant changes in American
Society is The Life of Richard Byrd which chronicles the Byrd s exploration of Antarctica that
took place between the two world wars. Rose has desire to understand the impacts of global
issues on specific nations of interest; because of this, The Cold War Comes to Main Street,
another novel concerning the impact of a global issue on a specific society is implied to be well
researched and developed. Additionally, Rose wrote Farewell to Prosperity: Wealth, Identity and

Fire seems to be the only constant thing in her life, destroying but also building Jeannette as it

Fire begins spreading through Jeannette s life at a young age. It all begins with catching her dress

addresses the bloodbath through the stories of survivors and guerrilla members that witnessed it as

The Atlacatl was an elite armed force that specialized in counter insurgency combat and was
training by the United States military. It received a mission known as OperacГon Rescate, which
translates into Operation Rescue, that had a single goal of removing guerrilla fighters and its
sympathizers in the area surrounding El Mozote. The fighters in this force accused the villagers of
supporting FMLN and supplying them with food, arms, and people. This accusation eventually
escalated to the torturing of certain members of the community and then the barbaric killing of
close to a thousand people. The Atlacatl used various methods to murder and terrorize the people
of El Mozote that included beheading, shooting, stabbing, and hanging. The armed forces
separated the women and raped girls as young as 10 years old as well as gather the children into a
room and slaughter them by stabbing or shooting them. At the end of the El Mozote Massacre, the
families that were able to escape or that were out of town came back to a village full of carnage and
their homes destroyed. The total death count is still debated until this day but it is estimated that

Marijuana Should Be Legal
Marijuana is a greenish gray mixture of the dried, shredded leaves and flowers of Cannabis sativa
the hemp plant (What is marijuana?) Researchers say, Marijuana is the third most popular
recreational drug in America, behind only alcohol and tobacco, and has been used by nearly 100
million Americans (About Marijuana). The main mind altering chemical in marijuana is delta 9
tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC (Marijuana). Marijuana is not harmful to the human body; there has
never been a known death because of marijuana. Marijuana is also known as; cannabis, weed, and
pot. Why is marijuana illegal if it is far less dangerous than alcohol or tobacco? The smoking of
cannabis, even long term, is not harmful to health. ... It would be reasonable... Show more content

Marijuana is illegal because it gives you a high, and being high is considered under the influence.
Therefore, if tobacco is legal then marijuana should be too. Some say that both tobacco and
marijuana have damaging effects. Those who smoke both cigarettes and marijuana suffer the
compound consequences of two different drugs destroying their health simultaneously. Marijuana
users are widely viewed as nonproductive drains on society. Cigarette smokers are frowned upon
due to the effects of second hand smoke, the litter caused by discarded cigarette butts and the drain
on the health system caused by their addiction things. Marijuana contains 50 to 70 percent more
carcinogenic hydrocarbons than tobacco smoke, and thus has the potential to cause cancer.
However, Donald Tashkin, M.D., professor of medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at
UCLA in Los Angeles, has found that marijuana use is not linked to an increase in lung, head or
neck cancers. Tashkin surmises that this is due to a chemical within marijuana that kills off cells

Hrm 531 Change Management Plan
Change Management
Within every project, issues occur that require alterations in the schedule or scope of the project.
The change management plan outlines the process in which these recommendations be submitted,
evaluated, and approved or declined (Vaidyanathan, 2013). Appendix CC demonstrates the change
request form that will be utilized by team members. These forms are assessed and reviewed by the
change control board that will be further discussed in the project execution section.
Cost Management
Another element that is essential in the project management plan is the cost management plan. The
main focus of the cost management plan is overseeing the cost of the necessary resources for the
execution of the project (PMI, 2013). This function is completed within the planning stage of an
endeavor to provide a structure to support performance and efficiency throughout the lifecycle of
the undertaking (PMI, 2013). For the AAE Project, analogous and parametric estimating was
utilized in estimating the potential costs of the endeavor. Appendix T shows the cost breakdown of
each activity within the project by separating the salaries, equipment/vendor costs, and vendor
contract costs. Since

Challenges of American-Indians in the United States Health...
Cover Letter Challenges of American Indians in the United States Health System The difficulty
encountered was on the attempt to harmonize the various figures and facts like years to a coherent
essay without moving back and forth with the figures hence mixing up the reader. It was interesting
to learn new facts about the American Indians and the services that I would otherwise assume are
common with people. The driving force behind the choice of this topic is that I have heard on
several occasions that this minority group among others struggled with the health care hence
wanted to discover the reasons behind it. The U.S. Health care system has undergone many changes
and adjustments meant to provide quality health care to all Americans with the latest adjustments
put in place with the coming of President Obama. The Obama health care plan is aimed at ensuring
that all Americans, regardless of the race and economic status are privy to adequate health care that
is affordable and within their reach. This would come as an absolute relief to the American Indians
as well as the Alaska Native who have been suffering alienation from the health care from historical
years. Background It is because of this historical injustice meted against the American Indians over
the historic development of this nation that there have been various legislations targeted toward
ensuring the American Indians too get the adequate medical care. One most significant and helpful

Analysis Of The Book Eight Hearts Essay
Eight Hearts, All In a Row
The bus drops Randy off next to an ice cream stand he used to buy neapolitan cones from in the
summer. He s surprised it still exists, the stand now covered in a tarp, looking to survive the
New York winter. 1818 Cheshire Street stands less than a block away, and he walks slowly,
clutching his brown paper bag, trying to avoid slipping on the ice. When he was younger, a
winter night meant sledding with the other kids in the neighborhood while lights illuminated up
the inside of brightly painted houses. He, a stranger now, tiptoes through dead silence and
boarded up windows, trying to see from the glow of flickering streetlamps. No colorful bulbs
twinkled from roofs, no wreaths guarded welcoming doors, and no hot chocolate wafted through
window cracks. Now, the memory of gingerbread men leaves an acidic taste in his mouth. His
childhood home is one of the few in the neighborhood that hadn t been abandoned after the
incident. When families fled, fluidly like a stream of grief and fear, his father had stood his ground
at the house he bought for his family years ago. Almost nobody wanted to move into abandoned
perfectly painted houses, polished with vibrant hydrangea bushes and stained with ink black
tragedy. The property value had plunged like a bird shot from the sky, and the area was now a
ghost town. As Randy makes his way down the sidewalk, 1818 Cheshire Street looms in front of
him. This house where he went from youngest child to middle

Truman Doctrine Research Paper
The Truman Doctrine: Contain the expansion of communism, presumably everywhere.
Summarize a situation that required U.S. diplomatic efforts during the president s time in office:
As World War 2 came to a close an Anti Democratic Iron Curtain had descended across Europe
according to the British Prime Minister Winston Churchill. Britain and most of the other countries
in Europe s forces were worn out, and their wealth all but depleted from the challenges of World
War 2. Because of this it was almost impossible to stop the spread of communism all throughout
Europe. The Truman Doctrine emerged from a speech given by President Truman before a joint
session of congress on March 12, 1947. The speech was given because of a recent announcement by

Before the Truman Doctrine there was the Monroe Doctrine that was created in 1823 by American
President James Monroe which was overturned by the Truman Doctrine. The Truman Doctrine was
instrumental in the creation of the Marshall Plan, which was a plan designed to contain
communism by lending economic aid to struggling European countries to help get them on their
feet again. This aid would help these countries fight communism. The Marshall Plan was ratified in
1948. In Truman s speech he convinced congress that it was important to confront the soviets
immediately, because if they do not then more and more countries would fall to Communism like
Dominoes. This later became known as the Domino Theory which was introduced to Truman by his
Under Secretary Dean Acheson. The Domino Theory was later to inspire the American
interventions in Korea and Vietnam. He stated that if more countries succumb to communism it
would make it easier for communism to spread, and therefore more difficult to stop. The Truman
Doctrine ended up leading to NATO, and increased anti Communist hysteria. The speech also
convinced the Soviet Union that the U.S. was a threat to Soviet Communism which caused the

The Philosopher King
If the choice is between a blind person and a sharp sighted one, isn t it clear which one we ll
need? (Plato 203). The image of the philosopher king was thoroughly described in Plato s
Republic, but the perfect ruler or philosopher king has transformed throughout history and are
influenced by historical events. First, the description of a perfect ruler in an ideal society in Platos
Republic will be the first comparison and the basis of a philosopher king. Second, Marcus Aurelius,
who was described as the first philosopher king wrote Meditations and it expresses his own
thoughts and beliefs which can ultimately reflect his actions. Lastly, Notker s account of
Charlemagne can be used to examine a king who may not always be recognized as a philosopher
king, but Charlemagne is described as a great ruler who valued learning and philosophy. These
three examples are from different time periods and so their perception and lifestyles are different
in some aspects. Likewise, all three accounts are from different viewpoints because the Republic
is not examining one specific person, but an ideal individual. Marcus Aurelius wrote about
himself and his beliefs and values are examined to determine philosopher king characteristics.
Lastly, Notker s writing is a secondary source and Notker did not know Charlemagne personally.
Therefore, Notker s account is praising a king who he did not know, but Charlemagne is
remembered as an ideal ruler and Notker lists Charlemagne s accomplishments and

The Brain That Cause Broca s Aphasia
The study of human communication in the physiological and in the psychological field are
paramount as they are understood as the basis of mankind. As a collective human race, people
have been able to evolve due to the ability to talk and to listen, which eventually lead to reading
and writing. Linguistics allows for the recording and collecting of historical documents and data
that has been passed down to generations as a form of knowledge. Conversational exchanges are
a significant way one can indicate to the other some sort of behavioral response; whether it be
asking for an object or for assistance in performing a task. Also in an instance where one is asked

The ability to do so is achieved through a compilation of neurons in the superior temporal gyrus
within the left hemisphere of the brain, and this lesion is known as Wernicke s area. The type of
aphasia associated with this area is known as Wernicke s aphasia, which is identified as the
opposite of Broca s aphasia: being that poor speech and fluent meaningless utterances are
prevalent in patients with Wernicke s aphasia. Due to damage in the brain s Wernicke area or a
fracture in within the auditory system, a patient may develop pure word deafness. This type of
deafness allows patients to hear however they are unable to process the meaning of linguistic
speech. Transcortical sensory aphasia is a type of disorder which links the Broca and Wernicke
areas of the brain: patients with this speech problem typically can follow repetition but cannot
produce meaningful speech on their own. The connecting fibers of axons that link the two lesions
of the brain that cause transcortical damage are the arcuate fasciculus neurons. Another sort of
aphasia is conduction, where the patient is unable to speak words through repetition but they can
speak normally and understand the speech of others. Anomic aphasia is where the patient has
difficulty choosing the correct word to use in order to prompt controversial exchanges: they use

The Recorded History Of Ghana
The recorded history of Ghana begins in 1471, when Portuguese traders landed on the coast in
search of gold, ivory, and spices. Following the Portuguese came the Dutch, the Danes, the Swedes,
the Prussians, and the British. Commerce in gold gave way to the slave trade until the latter was
outlawed by Great Britain in 1807. The 19th century brought a gradual adjustment to legitimate
trade, the withdrawal of all European powers except the British, and many wars involving the
Ashanti, who had welded themselves into a powerful military confederacy; their position as the
principal captors of slaves for European traders had brought them into conflict with the coastal
tribes. British troops fought seven wars with the Ashanti from 1806 to 1901, when their kingdom
was annexed by the British crown.(Encyclopedia, 2007) Amada (2010) stated that Ghana s history
prior to the 15th century is concentrated primarily on oral traditions, however it is believed that
people may have inhabited what is present day Ghana from about 1500 B.C.E. European contact
with Ghana began in 1470. In 1482, the Portuguese built a trading settlement there. Shortly
thereafter for three centuries, the Portuguese, English, Dutch, Danes and Germans all controlled
different parts of the coast. Colonial period: 1902 1957 Amada (2010) also explained that in 1821,
the British took control of all of the trading posts located on the Gold Coast. From 1826 to 1900,
the British then fought battles against the native

Minnesota Glacier Features
Features Present in Minnesota were Formed by The Wisconsin Glaciation
A glacier is a large mass of ice that flows very slowly. A glacier forms by the compression and/or
crystallization of snow that has stayed in one place year round. Glaciers can be constructive and/or
destructive. Glaciers can be constructive by leaving sediments behind, or destructive by gauging the
earth s surface. Glaciers were once present in Minnesota, thousands of years ago, and as they
retreated, they left behind large amounts of glacial meltwater and various landforms, still present
today. The Wisconsin glaciation started in Minnesota about two million years ago. The parts
missed by the Wisconsin glaciation were the Southwestern and Southeastern corners of Minnesota.

Reflection On Group Work
This paper will reflect upon the experience of working in a group to produce a poster in
partnership with Lloyd and Kemi. The difficulties and challenges faced will be outlined along
with the advantages and disadvantages of group work. I will seek to be honest about how I felt
and will reflect on the final outcome of our project. Difficulties and Challenges By nature, I am
an introvert and deeply reflective. This at times can be an advantage, allowing me to look at the
diamond nature of truth from different angles. For Group work, however, this is a noticeable
hindrance. Working in a group is the last thing I expected for the first assignment, but I was
prepared to take on this challenge and set aside my negative preconceptions. We began strong,
meeting in the Library and immediately delegating tasks. I arranged to travel to Aylesbury in
order to make progress on the project with Lloyd and discovered he lived five minutes away
from my mum! Kemi was unable to join us on this occasion, but we updated her via Face Time.
The project seemed to be gaining traction: we had done research, we had a rough idea of the
content and we were all encouraged by the progress. The first difficulty, however, came in week 2.
I had begun Greek on Mondays and was immediately thrust into a world previously unknown. It
was a thrilling challenge that opened up scores of exegetical insights, but the weekly translation
exercises began to eat away at my time. One of my great weaknesses is the inability

For me this question shows the real reason for faillure. Most projects focus on producing a
rocket (only focus on delivery). Successful projects however look further: why do we create a
rocket? Because we want to go to the moon. If NASA would have only focussed on delivering
rockets, they would never have reached the moon and probably had produced a great number of
disasters while delivering or using those rockets. A Business Case focus, rather than only a delivery
focus!
(By the way off topic: this delivery approach for me also caused the current financial crisis. Only
focussing on the deal, not on the long term effects.)
All reasons summed up in the question above are in my view symptoms and results of the delivery
only approach rather than reasons.

The Artifacts And Artifacts Of Pottery Of The East Coast...
In the summer of 2016, recreational divers discovered fragments of pottery of the East coast of
Crete near the Palace at Zakros. The fragments depicted artwork resembling that of ancient
Minoan culture, specific to the Late Minoan IA IB period. A team of archeologists returned to
the location to start a week long search for any other Minoan artifacts. Divers were able to locate
a shipwreck where the artifacts originated from. The ship, which was named by divers as Minos
s Treasure (there is no substantiated claim to be connected to the mythical King; the divers
thought it was a clever name) , is located at DMS 35В°5 38.395 N 26В°17 23.783 E at a depth of
20 meters. The site is approximately 1.65 miles/2.65 km from the Palace of Zakros and 341.15
miles/549 km from present day Alexandria (see attached images). Minos s Treasure was
completely covered in sediment, which is why the site had not had been uncovered until now.
Consequently, the sediment preserved the ship remarkably well. Divers were only able to
excavate a small amount of sediment due to inadequate equipment and a short amount of time
allotted to the expedition. What was found is proof for the need of further attention from the
archeological community. The forward section of the top deck was the only area where
significant progress was made. The ship s hull and decking is completely intact, yet little is known
about the full design due to large portion of sediment yet to be removed. A sample of the wood was

Model Summary of using Household to predict Charges
RRВІAdjusted RВІStd Error of Estimate
.753.5670.558620.793
Paying particular attention to the RВІ values (Table 2), this prediction equation can account for
about 55.8% of the variations present within the data. This equation appears to have a stronger fit
for predicting credit card charges then using Income.
To construct a better prediction equation that produces a stronger linear relationship with the least
amount of unexplained variance, a multiple regression analysis was conducted. Results of this
analysis clearly indicate that using both Income and Household together to predict credit card
charges is a better fit then just one of these characteristics. A multiple regression analysis produces
a model prediction equation of Annual Charges = 33.13(Income) + 356.30(Household) + 1304.91.
To determine how well this equation model fits, a multiple linear regression model containing the
two characteristics variables was fitted to the data. The model assumptions were checked using a
full residual analysis. The residual plots are shown in Exhibit 2.

The Professional Nursing Mindset Of A Healthier And More...
Analysis
Change Mindset The first thing that needs to change is the professional nursing mindset of taking
the break that they are entitled to. Nurses tend to feel that it is uncommon, unnecessary, and even
wrong to take a break. Like one nurse put it: ...We don t always say, okay, go. Because they ve got
the old Catholic guilt that nurses get embedded into them as part of the military training we go
through (Happell et al., 2013, p. 644). Nurses need to realize that they are only hurting themselves
and the patients they think they are helping by not taking breaks. Leaders play a role in helping
identify the issue and using management skills to guide the unit into a healthier and more positive
mindset (Brunges Foley Brinza, 2014).
Communication
To assess if there is a problem with the current setup, nurse managers and leaders can try to gauge
employee satisfaction with surveys. If nurses indicate a problem with not getting their entitled
break, then action should be taken. Communication is key so meetings can be called to try to
brainstorm what the problem is i.e. are there too many patients or is there not enough coverage?
Communication should be encouraged and suggestions and problems be brought to management
attention. This can be stimulated with monthly unit meetings, having an open door policy, or even
a suggestion box. However the best type of communication is face to face so the matter can be
discussed and clarifications can be made without

differences is significant. 5. Were the experimental and control groups similar in their type of
feeding? Provide a rationale for your answer.
Yes, they were. The experimental group had 13 or 40.6% who breast fed, 17 or 53.1% who
bottle fed and 2 or 6.3% who did both while the control r4oup had 15 or 41.7% who breast fed, 18
or 50.0% who bottle fed and 2 or 5.6% who did both. However, it is noted that there is missing
data so percentages do not always total 100%, thus the accuracy of these numbers is questionable. 6.
What was the marital status mode for the subjects in the experimental and control groups? Provide
both the frequency and percentage for the marital status mode for both groups.
25 out of 32 in the experimental group are married (78.1%), 1 is separated/divorced (3.1%) and 6
are single (18.8%). In the control group, 31 are married (86.1%), 1 is separated/divorced (2.8%)
and 3 are single (8.3%). The mode is married in each group as that is the value that appears most
often. The frequency is

Oil Transmute Essay
Oil Transmute The oil change is a necessity for every vehicle/motorcycle owner that operates on
todays roads. The average person drives about ten to fifteen thousand miles each year. There are
many people that surpass the fifteen thousand mile mark and drive as much as fifty thousand
miles or more in one year. Most people do not consider that a vehicle purchase is usually not
always, there are some exceptions, the second highest priced property besides real estate being
purchased every several decades. Conversely, not servicing the automobileengine oil can lead to
broken car, severe financial stress, and having to decide on a new auto purchase in a short time
frame. Nearly all new auto dealers offer fifty, sixty, and one hundred... Show more content on

Not all oils within the same viscosity have the exact specifications, most engine oil
manufacturers provide a specification data sheet that shows all the oil properties including
oxidation, bearing wear and much more. Experienced mechanics will recommend oil to be
chanted every three thousand miles or less. The reason for the three thousand miles or less
interval is because mechanics have seen thousands of engine failures due to long oil intervals or
no oil changes for years. Several owners drive years without changing the oil and later realize
that the engine oil has oxidized lost its viscosity and turned into sludge. Although a special high
mileage oil is available for the public at any auto parts store, and the high mileage oil has had an
excellent result in the past with engine wear and oxidation test results. All high mileage oils are
recommended by mechanics for automobiles with fifty thousand miles or more and those
vehicles showing five years of age or more. Vehicle history is extraordinarily important for an oil
change service. The vehicle history shows specific oil type used in the past and crucial dates and
places the services were performed. Historical documents will help any new car or used car owner
develop a service plan for the car s engine. After choosing the desired oil

The Truth About Leadership By James Kouzes And Barry Posner
The word leadership has lost its power. A leader, in today s vernacular, liberally signifies any
individual who occupies a position of authority or management. Leadership is more than a
discounted buzzword or entitlement. There are an infinite number of interpretations of leadership
and no singular, definitive solution. However, despite the seemingly insurmountable challenge that
leadershipis, authors James Kouzes and Barry Posner scientifically defined what makes a great
leader. Their book, The Truth About Leadership: the no fads, heart of the matter facts you need to
know, provides ten truths that define proper leadership.
Kouzes and Posner are indisputably leadership experts. Their partnership includes co authoring
various books, developing a universally used leadership assessment instrument, conducting
leadership development programs for prominent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are actualities solely dependent on the leader s acceptance and implementation to their
leadership style. Leadership starts with the recognition that you make a difference. There are no
prerequisites to leadership, take Kouzes and Posner s example of Melissa Poe. A fourth grader
concerned about the environment whose message transformed into a multinational organization
responsible for planting over one million trees. Another important aspect of this truth is that
leaders are local. The author s survey revealed that family members are overwhelming viewed as
leaders, not celebrities or recognizable figure heads. In their article Why Should Anyone Be Led
by You?, Goffee and Jones state that everyone can be a leader is a myth. Expanding on the context
of their statement and considering Kouzes and Posner s work, the commonality is that you matter
and can only be a leader if you want to. Those who do not want to are

Connecting the Unconnected Harvard Business School Case Study Pradeep Bhat Strategy
Assignment MIP Politecnico di Milano 1. In an industry where profitable firms are scarce,
Emirates has delivered solid growth and solid financial performance for years. Why? What is
behind Emirates success? б№њecently, on May 20th 2014, the Air French KLM announced their
results showing record losses. The strategy of alliance between two struggling airlines is yet to
prove its success. Meanwhile, in a complete contrast, The Emirates Airlines have passed a
massive order of 32 Airbus 380 super jumbo jets at the Berlin Air show 2010. Today, Emirates has a

Twice a day, once from 12 a.m. 2 a.m. and again from 6 a.m. 8 a.m., a spike of passengers
deplaned from points west for a two hour window to connect to their east bound flights. These
spikes strained the airport s capacity, but they were essential to allow connecting passengers the
widest possible choice of connections from points east to west13. Emirates growth into new
markets produced some additional peak period hiccups. Strategic Expansion: The strategic
move of placing a planning department to forecast major growth regions and placed orders for
the number of new planes it expected to use. Once the planes were confirmed, the planning team
examined the overall fleet, the available craft currently in use, and how many planes remained.
This base was then used to determine whether to add capacity to existing routes or launch a new
route. If case of the former option, Emirates determined whether to add new service to an existing
route or to swap out a service s existing plane with a larger and newer craft. Emirates relied on
only three types of aircraft, because of which planes could be deployed onto existing routes to
supply much more easily to match the demand. Strategic Alliances with Manufacturer: Existing
plane models with Emirates in the end of 20th century, could only fly distances of up to 14 hours,
due to which they were not able to connect to the key potential

People on the web post all kinds of personal information, mainly on social media. People do this to
try and gain online friends and gain online popularity. People also post their info when it comes to
purchasing items online. Thus, putting their bank info online too. However, most people don t
realize just how public their information becomes. This info becomes viewed to the world, allowing
any one to use it, how they please.
I am not a fan of social media. I use one social media app and that is snapchat and i use it for the
reason of its discreteness and how hard it is to access anything i would post do to it being deleted
instantly after being viewed. I use VPNs and other security when browsing online or purchasing. I
will continue this cautionary behavior as long as I have internet access. I recommend anybody who

  • 2. Dagoberto Gilb Narcissism Do you know the story of Narcissus? He was the very handsome fellow in Greek mythology who, because of his indifference and disdain toward others, was punished by the gods by falling in love with his own image. He was so enraptured by his beauty that he was unable to pull himself away from his own reflection, and he wasted away and died. Narcissismis also considered a social and cultural problem in America. It s not surprising to see a rise in narcissism in this generation given that young people are being bombarded by these messages and sorts of commercial all day, every day through every form of media. It is the same with Jake who is the main character in the story Love in L.A by Dagoberto Gilb. In the story, Jake is consumed with himself and with gaining more pleasure for himself. He wants much more than he has, and he wants it for him to be appraised by many women and finally fell in love with him. He clearly sees himself as a ladies man and uses every opportunity to COLLECT them. He thinks that having all the luxurious things will make him feel like invincible, like he is the greatest human being that god created.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 3. Essay on Morality in the Elizabethan Era Morality in the Elizabethan Era Values and morals of the Victorian era are quite different than those that our society upholds today. The satirical plays, A Doll s House by Henrik Ibsen, and Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw, examine the problems with certain beliefs held by the people, both men and women, of the Victorian age. Furthermore, the people in general didn t not just hold certain morals, but the different classes in the Victorian society also held their own beliefs on moral code. Of which, the middle class beliefs are most closely examined in both plays. Men and women were expected by others in Victorian society to uphold certain moral behaviors. These expectations caused many problems for the individual that upheld them... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This time the women are seen expecting the man to care for them, like in Freddy s case. You really are very helpless, Freddy. Go again; and don t come back until you have found a cab (Shaw 574). Because Freddy is a male, he is expected by his mother and sister to find a cab for them in the rain when there are none in sight. Even on the streets men will defend women who they don t even know. What business is it of yours? You mind your own affairs....Nice thing a girl cant shelter from the rain without being insulted, (Shaw 576). Bystanders noticing the flower girl is upset by the note taker, they defend her, if she were a man they would have expected her to fend for herself. The second requirement that makes a man a man in Victorian times is his perfect family. There they are!...Look at them, Christine! Aren t they darlings? (Ibsen 19). Nora is showing off her perfect little children to her friend Mrs. Linde. Yes, take a good look at her. I think she is worth looking at. Isn t she charming, Mrs. Linde? (Ibsen 53). Torvald is now showing off his prize trophy, his wife, as if Mrs. Linde really cares. With a perfect wife and children Torvald can be seen as a true hard working, good man. Yet, many times these seemingly good values are flawed underneath. There are many problems with these values imposed on men in Victorian times. In the case of protecting his woman, we see Torvald s true colors in the end of the play after he discovers Nora s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. How Does Romulus My Father Relate To Belonging It is in human nature to strive towards a sense of Belonging, a process that incites the creation, or deterioration of a sense of personal and cultural identification. The memoir, Romulus, My Father, by Raimond Gaita; John Guare s play, Six Degrees of Separation; and Tim Winton s short story, Big World, from the collection, The Turning, explore the concept that Belonging is the driving force for the human condition. Each composer represents their varied perceptions of belonging in their texts, conveying that Belonging as a fundamental need we strive for in our search to create a concrete identity. The memoir, Romulus, My Father, portrays the ways in which immigrants in 1950 s rural Victoria struggled to be accepted in a foreign society, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Guare uses the post modern technique of fragmentation to purposely distance the audience from the action. This technique causes the audience to immediately see the fear of rejection and isolation by society felt by the characters, provoking the audience to reflect the characters determination to be accepted. Guares darker twist on the need to belong is represented through the central motif of the play, the Kandinsky, the two sided painting, a metaphor for the different dimensions of a person. Guare seems to be suggesting that to belong in our modern society, we must follow the rules dictated by society and hide our true desires. This is enhanced by the characterization of Ouisa and Flan who present themselves as courteous, but expose the audience to their true intentions of striving to connect to a higher social class: Having a rich friend is like drowning, and your friend makes life boats. The character Paul is a symbol of this determination and desperation, creating the persona of Sidney Poitier s son for the acknowledgement and acceptance he receives from it. He uses deception of his true identity to minimize social marginalization and fulfill his emotional need to connect. Like Romulus, Paul becomes a representation of the impact of rejection, forging multiple personalities in an attempt to connect to what he believes he deserves. This is Guare s central irony; Paul has attempted to belong by forming these personas but they ultimately cause him ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Benefits Of Using Generic Drugs For Cancer And Autoimmune... In 2014, it was estimated that Americans spent over $373 billion on pharmaceuticals, which is an increase of 13 percent and considered the highest increase since 2001. With the Affordable Care Act in place, it is estimated that patients filled approximately 24 percent more prescriptions in 2014 than in 2013. There are several reasons to account for this spending growth. The first is the increased spending of $20 billion on new medication brands. Secondly, over 161,000 people started treatment for hepatitis C treatment, which is approximately ten times more than the previous year. The third reason is an increase for recent innovative treatment for cancer and autoimmune diseases (IMShealth.com, 2015). With health care spending continuing to rise, Americans have at least three options to help reduce out of pocket expenses. Cost saving methods include switching from brand name drugs to generic medications, discussing potential alternative medications that are less expensive with healthcare providers, and rallying lawmaker to change current laws to restrict the amount pharmaceutical companies can charge for medications. Generic Drugs In 2012, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reported that in 2004, the average price for generic prescription drug was $28.74, while the average price of a brand name prescription drug was $96.01. The FDA recognizes that the high price of medications puts the public at a high health risk. To help Americans be able to have access ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In order to recover from its economic losses, President Schuman of France proposed a single market for the free trade of coal and steel. In an address delivered to the French Assembly, he remarked, The pooling of coal and steel production... will change the destinies of those regions which have long been devoted to the manufacture of munitions of war, of which they have been the most constant victims. President Schuman s motives were not only the rebuilding of Europe s economy, but also the assurance that Germany and France would never get into another war again. In 1951, the Treaty of Paris was officially signed establishing the European Coal and Steel Community (European Commission). The countries of Luxembourg, Belgium, The Netherlands, France, West Germany, and Italy were the first countries to join. As these countries experienced economic success, they hoped to expand the Coal and Steel Community to something much more vast. In the Treaty of Rome in 1957, the European Economic Community was established (CVCE). The EEC didn t just allow the free trade of coal and steel, but also eliminated all trade tariffs completely. Comparing Duchess Of Malfi And Midsummer Night s Dream In the plays, The Duchess of Malfi by John Webster and Midsummer Night s Dream by William Shakespeare, the main female characters can be put together from either story for easy comparison. The Duchess and Cariola, from The Duchess of Malfi, can be compared to Hermia and Helena, from a Midsummer Night s Dream, respectively as they serve as foils, even though they appear in different plays. There were species on the Galapagos such as insects and reptiles that resembled some species in South America, but were also different in very slight ways. Darwin began to wonder if species would travel to the Galapagos, and then adapt to their new environments over time. If two species came from a common ancestor, it would make sense for them to live together. For example, Darwin s finches he discovered on the Galapagos had differently sized beaks. Electric is also the future of performance vehicles. The instant torque that electric motors provide outclasses almost all combustion engines. BMW just announced their future plans to produce performance electric and I expect many other manufacturers to follow suit. As more and more cars are produced our charging technology and infrastructure will likely expand. This will make cross country trips in electric vehicles a lot more accessible. While many consumers are weary of the technology at this point, I predict that as the technology develops and more cars are put into production, consumers will open up to the idea and electric will become the new norm in car culture. The connecting fibers of axons that link the two lesions of the brain that cause transcortical damage are the arcuate fasciculus neurons. Another sort of aphasia is conduction, where the patient is unable to speak words through repetition but they can speak normally and understand the speech of others. Anomic aphasia is where the patient has difficulty choosing the correct word to use in order to prompt controversial exchanges: they use what is known as circumlocution and that is the ... The Obama Administration was given little chance in forging peace with North Korea because the North Koreans consistently defied Resolutions and provoked the United States as well as the UNSC into sanctions. • 29. The Recorded History Of Ghana The recorded history of Ghana begins in 1471, when Portuguese traders landed on the coast in search of gold, ivory, and spices. Following the Portuguese came the Dutch, the Danes, the Swedes, the Prussians, and the British. Commerce in gold gave way to the slave trade until the latter was outlawed by Great Britain in 1807. The 19th century brought a gradual adjustment to legitimate trade, the withdrawal of all European powers except the British, and many wars involving the Ashanti, who had welded themselves into a powerful military confederacy; their position as the principal captors of slaves for European traders had brought them into conflict with the coastal tribes. British troops fought seven wars with the Ashanti from 1806 to 1901, when their kingdom was annexed by the British crown.(Encyclopedia, 2007) Amada (2010) stated that Ghana s history prior to the 15th century is concentrated primarily on oral traditions, however it is believed that people may have inhabited what is present day Ghana from about 1500 B.C.E. European contact with Ghana began in 1470. In 1482, the Portuguese built a trading settlement there. Shortly thereafter for three centuries, the Portuguese, English, Dutch, Danes and Germans all controlled different parts of the coast. Colonial period: 1902 1957 Amada (2010) also explained that in 1821, the British took control of all of the trading posts located on the Gold Coast. The difficulties and challenges faced will be outlined along with the advantages and disadvantages of group work. I will seek to be honest about how I felt and will reflect on the final outcome of our project. Difficulties and Challenges By nature, I am an introvert and deeply reflective. This at times can be an advantage, allowing me to look at the diamond nature of truth from different angles. For Group work, however, this is a noticeable hindrance. Working in a group is the last thing I expected for the first assignment, but I was prepared to take on this challenge and set aside my negative preconceptions. I arranged to travel to Aylesbury in order to make progress on the project with Lloyd and discovered he lived five minutes away from my mum! Kemi was unable to join us on this occasion, but we updated her via Face Time. The project seemed to be gaining traction: we had done research, we had a rough idea of the content and we were all encouraged by the progress. The first difficulty, however, came in week 2. A Business Case focus, rather than only a delivery focus! (By the way off topic: this delivery approach for me also caused the current financial crisis. The fragments depicted artwork resembling that of ancient Minoan culture, specific to the Late Minoan IA IB period. A team of archeologists returned to the location to start a week long search for any other Minoan artifacts. Divers were able to locate a shipwreck where the artifacts originated from. The ship, which was named by divers as Minos s Treasure (there is no substantiated claim to be connected to the mythical King; the divers thought it was a clever name) , is located at DMS 35В°5 38.395 N 26В°17 23.783 E at a depth of 20 meters. The site is approximately 1.65 miles/2.65 km from the Palace of Zakros and 341.15 miles/549 km from present day Alexandria (see attached images). Minos s Treasure was completely covered in sediment, which is why the site had not had been uncovered until now. Consequently, the sediment preserved the ship remarkably well. Divers were only able to excavate a small amount of sediment due to inadequate equipment and a short amount of time allotted to the expedition. What was found is proof for the need of further attention from the archeological community. The forward section of the top deck was the only area where significant progress was made. This equation appears to have a stronger fit for predicting credit card charges then using Income. To construct a better prediction equation that produces a stronger linear relationship with the least amount of unexplained variance, a multiple regression analysis was conducted. Results of this analysis clearly indicate that using both Income and Household together to predict credit card charges is a better fit then just one of these characteristics. A multiple regression analysis produces a model prediction equation of Annual Charges = 33.13(Income) + 356.30(Household) + 1304.91. Nurses tend to feel that it is uncommon, unnecessary, and even wrong to take a break. Like one nurse put it: ...We don t always say, okay, go. Because they ve got the old Catholic guilt that nurses get embedded into them as part of the military training we go through (Happell et al., 2013, p. 644). Nurses need to realize that they are only hurting themselves and the patients they think they are helping by not taking breaks. Leaders play a role in helping identify the issue and using management skills to guide the unit into a healthier and more positive mindset (Brunges Foley Brinza, 2014). Communication To assess if there is a problem with the current setup, nurse managers and leaders can try to gauge employee satisfaction with surveys. If nurses indicate a problem with not getting their entitled break, then action should be taken. Communication is key so meetings can be called to try to brainstorm what the problem is i.e. are there too many patients or is there not enough coverage? Communication should be encouraged and suggestions and problems be brought to management attention. This can be stimulated with monthly unit meetings, having an open door policy, or even a suggestion box. However the best type of communication is face to face so the matter can be discussed and clarifications can be made without ...
