Dolores Huerta
Latina Leader
For thousands of years immigration to the United States has been considered one of the biggest
problems and has been one of the topics most talked about, especially in this year, being one of the
favorite topics to talk about in the presidential debates. Yet, due to speeches given by President Donald
Trump little is known and talked about the problems immigrants, especially Latinos face day by day,
socially and economically. By being a minority in the United States it has been very difficult for
immigrant farm workers to get where they are now and have more opportunities than before the
1970s. Fortunately, there have been organizations and leaders that have helped immigrants through the
years, one of these being Dolores Huerta. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Socially Huerta fought against discrimination and racism against Latinos, but she did not only help the
Latino community, but she also helped fight for women s rights. Although there hasn t been a
complete elimination discrimination against minorities and women in the whole country there has
been a big improvement. It was while she was working in New York, where she met feminist Gloria
Steinem, who inspired her to start a feminist movement (Dolores Huerta). Another big social change is
that Latinos became more involved in politics each year. Especially in this year s elections Latinos
have proved to have a big influence in state politics as their power have boosted the concentration on
the Democratic side as 22 out of 24 are democratic (Los Angeles Times). Now in days Dolores Huerta
has continued to influence politicians and organizations to continue helping the Latino/immigrant
community. One of these being the U visa program which has helped to encourage more than 2000
immigrants that have suffered from domestic violence to report these crimes without having to fear
that they will be deported (Kaitlyn Schallhorn). Politicians such as Jerry Brown in California have
also helped the Latino community by providing $ 176.6 million to fix and clean houses (California
Latino Legislative).
Dolores Huerta has not taken for granted as shown by today and the previous year, her legacy
continues as she herself countess helping the Latino community. Creating the United Farm Workers
association and helping pass the Agricultural relation acts as being without a doubt one of the most
and significant things that Dolores has done to help the immigrant and Latino community

Common Core Standards Of Active Learning
Active learning focuses the responsibility of learning on the learners, it should be experimental,
mindful, and engaging. The learners are required to do things and think about those things they are
doing. As a 8th grade math teacher, dealing with the Common Core Standards daily, I feel as if the
internal design grammars are set up to produce an active learning environment. The standards were
written with verbs, such as: apply, perform, verify experimentally, graph, interpret, construct, and
compare; therefore, if a teacher is to have his/her students master these standards, then there should be
some active learning going. The problem with this is that teachers do not have enough time in a day,
week, or even the year to push the students

Partition as Madness
If I be allowed to quote from the movie,
The land is divided, lives are shattered
Storms rage in every heart; it s the same here and there...
Funeral pyres in every home; the flames mount higher
Every city is deserted; it s the same here and there..
No one heeds the Gita; no one heeds the Koran
Faith has lost all meaning; here or there....
The partition of India and its subsequent independence is the most barbaric incident in the history of
India. Millions of people were forced to leave their homes and many were butchered in the worst
possible ways. There was an unorganised and unplanned brutality. The unbelievable part was how
could our sense of moral righteousness be handicapped by the actions of a few. How could it be that
the same people who had driven the Britishers out of their country could in turn start killing each
other. The communal politics reached every nook and cranny in India polluting whole of the country
with the advertisement of a freedom of a very unique kind than that imagined by many people of
India. The theory of the partition was initially opposed by most of the Indian people. For many people,
the riots that took place during partition was completely beyond their wildest imagination. The idea
was arbitrary, illogical, gruesome, unreasonable and mad and lead to immense confusion. Today,
perhaps, it has become an accepted reality. The Maulvi Saheb in the story of Toba Tek SIngh says that
Pakistan is a place in Hindustan where they make cut throat

Nextgen
What is NextGen? NextGen is not just one particular project or aspect. Instead, it is a wide range of
changes improvements, and implementations created by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
and its partners that are designed to improve and make air travel more efficient and safer today and in
the years to come. NextGen has the ability to save air carriers money by reducing fuel costs via
shortened and more direct routes.
NextGen is the overall modernization of the National Airspace System (NAS) that provides benefits to
the air carrier and to the consumers/passengers in that it allows for flights to depart on time, arrive on
time (or ahead of schedule), decreases the EPA emissions, thus helping to save the environment, and

The role of accreditation in the hospital setting.
The history of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals is a story of the health professions
commitment to patient care of high quality in the 20th century. According to Dr. Ernest Codman,
founder of the accreditation system, which would enable hospitals to track every patient it treat long
enough to determine whether or not the treatment was effective. If not, the hospital would figure out
how to prevent similar failures in the future (Roberts, Coale Redman, 1987). At present, the
accreditation is a process of review that health care organizations participate in to display the ability to
meet approved criteria and standards of accreditation. Accreditation represents agencies as credible
and reputable organizations dedicated to ongoing and continuous compliance with the highest
standard of quality. Professional accrediting agency work together with the health care industry
experts to create standards to ensure that quality is maintained throughout all aspects of an
organization (Accreditation Commission for Health Care, 2008; Greenfield, Pawsey Braithwaite,
2010). However, the on site surveys are conducted, today unannounced, by health care industry
experts. A inclusive review is conducted of organizational structure, policies and procedures,
compliance with federal, state, and local laws, leadership, patients rights and responsibilities, fiscal

A highly regarded art form, music aids in defining cultural phenomenon that individuals use to
experience, communicate and express emotional states. Music is also known to evoke an emotional
response that is associated with physiological arousal (Olsen Stevens, 2013). Past and present research
has defined arousal as an early emotional response. The present study seeks to examine physiological
response (anxiety) in response to classical music through the measurement of skin conductance level
(SCL). The purpose of this study is to determine if music affects, specifically lowers, the amount of
physiological arousal (anxiety) experienced by a participant while listening to classical music. SCL

Those with GAD also experience fatigue, muscle tension, difficulty sleeping, irritability, restlessness
and edginess (ADAA, 2015). Worry and anxiety are a natural part of everyday life, but for those with
GAD, the worry becomes so severe that it impairs their normal functioning. The lifetime prevalence of
GAD is 28%, with a mean age of onset at 11 years (Duval et al., 2015). This section will focus on the
neurological information of GAD, current research and the effect music has on GAD. Neuroscience.
When an anxiety response occurs, objectively unthreatening stimuli becomes threatening (Davidson,
2013). To help cope with stress, the brain releases the hormone cortisol (Bear, Connors Paradiso,
2007). During the fear and anxiety response, the central nucleus of the amygdala is active; once active,
an excitatory response in the hypothalamus occurs (Davidson, 2013). This excitation causes
corticotrophin releasing hormone (CRH) to be released; CRH then triggers the anterior pituitary gland
to secrete ACTH (Davidson, 2013). The ACTH levels in the blood stream cause cortisol to be released
from the adrenal cortex and once the levels of cortisol become high, the hippocampus activates,
suppressing the release of CRH (Davidson, 2013). The bloodstream carries cortisol to the brain, where
it bind to receptors in the cytoplasm of man

Italian Art Research Paper
Art is defined as something that is created with imagination and skill and that is beautiful or that
expresses important ideas or feelings. (Merriam Webster) Since the beginning of time, art has been a
regular part of life. Art is all around us every day, and sometimes, we don t notice or care where these

Artistic styles have many impacts, however, the most prolific impacts originate from the newly
formed religious Orders coming to light in Italy during the 1200s and 1300s. Because of these new
religious orders, two notorious art styles merged together to make a necessary change. Dominican and
Franciscan styles merge together with the Byzantine art styles to form a completely new format. While
Western Christendom fell into the cultural abyss of the barbarian Dark Ages, its religious, secular and
artistic values were maintained by its new Eastern capital in Byzantium (later renamed Constantinople
after Constantine). Along with the transfer of Imperial authority to Byzantium went thousands of
Roman and Greek painters and craftsmen, who proceeded to create a new set of Eastern Christian
images and icons, known as Byzantine Art. (Byzantine Art: Characteristics, History) As the Western

officials who feared Haitian instability would possibly result in foreign rule of Haiti. In 1868,
President Andrew Johnson urged the annexation of the one island Haiti and the Dominican Republic,
to secure a U.S. defensive and economic stake in the West Indies. In 1910, President William Howard
Taft granted Haiti a large loan in hopes that Haiti may pay off its international debt, thus lessening

Tooth Decay Is An Imbalance Of Mineral Loss And Replacement
Tooth Decay
Tooth decay is an imbalance of mineral loss and replacement within a tooth over time in response to
acid attacks on a daily basis. These acid attacks are a direct result of food and drink consumption
resulting in cavities and decay. The cavity and tooth decay process can be prevented by working
closely with a professional dentist and following a thorough at home dental health routine. Eating the
correct foods at the right times and avoiding certain snacks can all help to prevent tooth decay. So let s
take a look at tooth decay and the actual process itself.

This series of attacks and rebuilds is much like a tug of war in your mouth. It s also a way of the body
protecting itself from everyday problems. In order to help prevent tooth decay we must first
understand it fully and a great way to begin is to look at each of the three main factors in closer detail.
The three main factors in tooth decay
Food and Drink when food and drink is consumed over an extended period of time between meals, the
balance between remineralisation and demineralisation can tip in favour of tooth decay. Sticky foods
such as caramel and raisins are particularly adept at causing acid attacks that become too much for
saliva to prevent and repair. Eating these foods during a meal however allows for the tug of war
scenario to become a winning situation for a person and their teeth. A scenario in which tooth decay
can occur rather rapidly happens to be when children are allowed to fall asleep with a bottle. This can
be the same if a bottle is given to them for them to carry around too. Whether it contains milk, juice or
another drink, bacteria can use them all to produce acids and this is known as baby bottle tooth decay .
In order to help prevent tooth decay, you must limit the intake of sugary and sticky foods along with
sweetened beverages between your meals.
Bacteria in Plaque plaque on your teeth should be removed by your toothbrush and floss everyday.
Usually, in the majority of cases a clean tooth

Dna Profiling
DNA profiling is a method of identifying an individual by unique characteristics of their DNA. A
specific DNA pattern, called a profile, is obtained from an individual or a sample of tissue. This
allows the comparison of the base sequence of two or more DNA samples to determine whether they
are related.
DNA profiling has many uses, in prevention of economic fraud, dietetic work, and classifying species,
identifying bodies, forensic science, screening for disease, and investigating paternity. Most
importantly DNA profiling is used in forensic science; used to identify who committed the crime. It is
estimated that roughly one percent of all criminal cases employ this technique. However, DNA

Sarah Ley, Dietitian, says in the future we would expect to use DNA profiling to check out the risk of
getting a disease such as heart disease more closely and what sorts of reactions food might have for
some people.
The last common use for DNA profiling is for paternity testing. This can be used for immigration
issues by screening people claiming citizenship on the basis of their relations holding
British/American citizenship. If parents are unsure who is the father of a child a DNA sample can be
taken from the child and profiled beside that of the possible fathers and the result can be read against
that, resolving the paternity dispute.
DNA profiling meets human demand in all these categories of uses from keeping endangered species
safe to identifying killers. More detail to the cancer research is needed as a struggle for a cure is
continued. The recent sequencing of the human genome, coupled with advances in biotechnology, is
enabling the comprehensive molecular profiling of human tissues. In particular, DNA microarrays are
powerful tools for obtaining global views of human tumor gene expression. Complex information
from tumor expression profiling studies can, in turn, be used to create novel molecular cancer
diagnostics. DNA profiling of tumor DNAs may reveal important new diagnostic therapys targets to
improve prediction and treatment of advanced cancer patients. In a breast cancer study, the American

Baseball Has No Game Clock Essay
The batting team attempts to score runs by hitting a ball that is thrown by the pitcher with a bat swung
by the batter, then running counter clockwise around a series of four bases: first, second, third, and
home plate. A run is scored when a player advances around the bases and returns to home plate.
Players on the batting team take turns hitting against the pitcher of the fielding team, which tries to
prevent runs by getting hitters out in any of several ways. A player on the batting team who reaches a
base safely can later attempt to advance to subsequent bases during teammates turns batting, such as
on a hit or by other means. The teams switch between batting and fielding whenever the fielding team
records three outs. One turn batting for both teams, beginning with the visiting team, constitutes an
inning. A game is composed of nine innings, and the team with the greater number of runs at the end
of the game wins. Baseball has no game clock, although almost all games end in the ninth inning.
Baseball evolved from older bat and ball games already being played in England by the mid 18th
century. This game was brought by immigrants to North America, where the modern version
developed. By the late 19th century, baseball was widely recognized as the national sport of the
United States. Baseball is now popular in North America and parts of Central and South America, the
Caribbean, and East Asia.
In the United States and Canada, professional Major League Baseball (MLB) teams

Keywords: chinook, hyporheic exchange, rearing habitat, salmon
Target Journal: CJFAS or Freshwater Biology or Ecological applications??
Introduction
Multiple salmonid species are known to actively select areas of groundwater upwelling for spawning.
Surface water groundwater (SW GW) exchange research has primarily focused on the importance of
intra gravel flow that supports fish egg incubation success, through moderated water temperature,
dissolved oxygen content and removal of respiration waste (Webster and Eiriksdottir 1976, Curry and
Noakes 1995, Baxter and Hauer 2000 Geist 2001). Although this spawning habitat selection is likely
to mediate conditions for juvenile salmonid rearing, the role that surface water groundwater (SW GW)
exchange plays in post emergent salmonid growth has not been well studied (except Jungwirth et al
2000). In this study, we performed a field experiment to test if SW GW exchanges increased post
emergent fish growth. In addition, we examined the direct and indirect effects of SW GW exchange on
foodweb drivers resulting in observed fish growth to explore implications for fish conservation,
management and stream restoration. We believe this study to be the first of its kind to show direct fish
growth due to surface water groundwater

How the stability/instability of funding shape the nature of activities of international organizations
The funding sources for IOs are not exactly the same. While some depend on regular budgetary
contributions, others depend on voluntary contributions for the fulfillment of their mandates. In either
ways, the flow of funds could be stable or not stable. The stability or instability of these funds could
affect the nature of activities IOs choose to do in several ways: it could affect the execution of
mandates, planning and timing of programs, and sustainability. First, the flow and availability of funds
is the life blood of very IO. Even though every IO designs the nature and type program of activities
based on its mandates for a given period, the implementation of such programs are dependent on the
availability of funds. Thus, the timing of the program implementation is tied to the availability of
funds. Programs with stable funds will be carried out on time and programs with delayed or no funds
will be delayed in implementation or not carried out at all. Therefore, which programs to carry out and
when to carry them out is dependent on the stability or instability of funds. Secondly, given the fact
that the stability or instability of funds are dependent on donors, donors capitalize on it to control the
types of activities that IOs engage in. Donors therefore attach

Tourette Syndrome
Physical: Tourette syndrome is a neurological disorder that is characterized by involuntary movements
referred to as a tic. The tics can range from being relatively simple to complex. Simple: sudden
repetitive movements that only involve a small number of muscle groups. Involves eye blinking, other
eye movements, shoulder tension, facial rigidity, and head and shoulder twitching. Complex: Very
distinct characteristics. These complex tics involve several muscle groups. Combined facial rigidity
with neck and shoulder spasms, sniffing loudly, touching certain things repetitively, and other large
movements such as jumping, bending, or twisting. Most Dramatic: large motor movements that self
harm the individual. This may include punching the face and repeated swearing. Coprolalia is
repeating words or phrases of others which offends others because they are usually curse words or

5 Ways To Prevent Abortion Research Paper
In this essay, I will be persuading you to the reasons of why the United States should expel abortion
laws. Abortion is the termination of a fetus from the womb before it is able to survive independently.
Abortion has been a hot topic for quite a long time and has affected many lives of women in every
socioeconomic situation throughout human history. Until 1880, women in the United States were
using abortion as a device for population control From then on, abortion was only legal if the woman s
life was in danger. After, women were going to drastic, dangerous measures to have illegal abortions
that, usually, resulted in hospital visits because of the damage it did to their own health. As time went

Though it plays a part in it, Alia Hyod wrote an article, Birth Control and Abortion , to demonstrate
the hypocracy of Planned Parenthood s article, 5 Ways to Prevent Abortion , because half of Planned
Parenthood s health center funds is from providing abortions. Hyod states pregnant women who come
to Planned Parenthood for counseling, almost 98% have abortions. Two percent receive prenatal care.
Less than half of one percent are referred for adoption (4 6). Birth control is not absolute. According
to Hyod, Planned Parenthood estimates that 2 9% of pill users will get pregnant in any given year and
15 24% of condom users will still wind up with an unplanned pregnancy (15). In the article, Abby
Johnson, a director of Planned Parenthood, admits that she became pregnant three times while using a
contraceptive(17). Also, in the article, Planned Parenthood states that the only absolute contraceptive
is abstinence(16). Hyod shares Ann Freuri s comment on birth control at a debate in 2008 saying, We
live in a society where we know contraception fails. In the real world, out of women who are using the
pill well, about 8 in every 100 will get pregnant in the course of a year... (12). Women need to know
the truth about contraceptives and think more carefully before the have intercourse; and there needs to
programs that will support and help women with their extenuating circumstances instead of

Freud Mental Illness
The history of mental illness in the United States as for other parts of the world is ever changing.
Mental illness have been seen as insanity, source of sorcery, treated through the church, seen as
genetic based etc. through the centuries. For example, due to the belief that mental illness was caused
by evil spirit during the stone age, the cure was trepanation (History of mental illness lecture). We no
longer see the use of trepanation because over time, knowledge of mental illness has evolved. In the
twentieth century, there were three revolutions in the United States that initiated highly influential
patterns of treatment for the mentally ill: psychoanalysis and the theories of Sigmund Freud, the

psychoactive drugs will remain the most significant throughout the twenty first century. I say this
because, our generation has become quite dependent on drugs. For example, according to a
publication in the Journal of the American Medical Association, 59 percent of all U.S. adults are
currently on at least one prescription drug, and 15 percent of all U.S. adults are on at least five
prescription drugs (Snyder 2016).Futhermore,we find over the counter medicine, there are numerous
painkillers available on the market, and most of all as we evolve, scientist will eventually find a way
to better than and lessen the negative effects that comes with them. We live in a society were money

method to deal with mental illness; Because of that, with work, it has the most potential of remaining

Pros And Cons Of Personal Jurisdiction
Personal Jurisdiction also known as jurisdiction in personam is the power of a court to require that a
party or a witness come before the court; extends to the states boarders in the state court system and
across the courts geographic district in the federal system (pg. 42). In this case, there are three states
involved; first is a Internet Company called Funny Face which is based in California, second state
involved is Novelty Now Inc. in Florida who manufactures and distributes the product, the third state
is New York which is where the customer lived that received the faulty product. This product was a
aftershave lotion which had an harmful side effect due to a ingredient that is not FDA approved.
According to the contract between Funny Face and Novelty Now all conflicts must go through the
state of Florida, therefore this case would be under the state of Florida jurisdiction. Subject matter
jurisdiction is a courts power to hear certain kinds of cases (pg44). It determines which court system
will hear a particular case; state jurisdiction, exclusive federal jurisdiction, or concurrent jurisdiction.
The federal court system has exclusive jurisdiction over very few cases including bankruptcy cases,
lawsuits in which one state sues another, and claims against the United States. State court systems
have a bigger range of jurisdiction including all cases not falling under exclusive federal jurisdiction.
Concurrent federal jurisdiction means that both state and federal

Madness In Hamlet Analysis
The key theme of madness in Hamlet serves the critical roles of the play, serving to depict the chaos
and turbulence reigning through the lives of all within the play. Characters portraying both feigned
and authentic madness, such as Hamlet and Ophelia, serve pertinent roles displaying the corruption
and destruction of the mind when left alone without a guiding figure, most significantly one in the role
of a father, and restrained without a chance to speak freely. Shakespeare creates a definitive line
between the sane and mad characters within the play, both in dialogue and presence in many scenes. In
the dialogue of both Hamlet and Ophelia in the apex of their madness, as Yi Chi Chen states in his
Pregnant with Madness Ophelia s Struggle and Madness in Hamlet, Other than being pregnant in
madness, Hamlet s and Ophelia s language is also pregnant with madness (Chen 14.) Through this
remark, Chen states that not only is their language sprinkled with puns and dark humor that reflects a
meaning underneath a cover of meaningless remarks, their remarks serve to bring about, the truth that
lies beneath the masquerade like court of Denmark, each in their own ways (Chen 14.) Hamlet, with
his incense towards the marriage between Claudius and Gertrude, serves to utter his disregard towards
this relationship in his biting remarks towards both parties. Ophelia, in her utter dismay at the
rejection of her love by Hamlet and her father s death, serves to facilitate her thoughts through the use
of madness, speaking her mind clearly on her thoughts on Hamlet s exploitation of the mind of
women, showcasing her sorrow and heavy burden. While the sane merely remain aloof to the sorrows
at hand, the mad seek to reflect them in their true light through backwards remarks and sly words.
Most significantly, this dividing line between the sane and mad is first seen in the character of Hamlet.
Throughout the play, one of Hamlet s key struggles remains to be his inability to express his desire to
rise to action in the name of his father, Old Hamlet, who spurs him to honor his name through
revenge. As Hamlet is visited by his father and called to rise to the occasion and honor his father s past
name and untimely murder through his

Examples Of Andy In Shawshank Redemption
An individual s personality or persona is created through a combination of events a person would
receive from society, and how the individual absorbs these events gives the bases for that individual to
develop hishers persona. In the novella, Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption, Stephen King
uses the character Andrew Dufresne to demonstrate the influence society has on the development of a
person s persona or identity. When change of social environment occurs to an individual, it is natural
reaction for the individual to climb the social chain, so that they may find contentment. The first time
Andy talks with Red, and Andy is still new and is faced with the drastic change in environment and
the way of communication being less formal, thus making Andy look more of a snob to other inmates
at Shawshank, an Red s thoughts Andy had a reputation for being a [snob] and a [cold fish]. (King 20).
The words cold fish and snob are used to clearly describe how the character Andy is seen by others, is
used by King to present the readers a starting point for which the character Andy can build up from
and develop a new persona. Once an individual finds their place in the new environment, society
molds the individual into a working part of the social chain. The day Andy, Red, and a couple of
others were working on the top of a roof, and Andy overheard one of the guards talking about the
fortune he had made, but complaining about the income taxes. Andy agrees with the guard, that

in the sector are able to achieve higher profit margins due to strong brand name recognition,
innovative products and good marketing techniques. A trend observed in this industry was to focus on
primary strengths rather than on diversification strategies, which was the case in 1990s. This allowed
many companies to sell off their non profitable businesses and for others acquiring of cash cows.

It is important for everyone to get enough sleep, but many people often ignore it. If people do not get
enough sleep they may experience sleep deprivation. Sleep deprivation can have negative effects.
When people do not get enough sleep or less, they may feel crabby and unable to function as well as
they usually do the next day. Balancing work and parenting as a single parent in today s society is
tough. Juggling children, work, taking care of home, and cart the children to extracurricular activities

my children fall sick or when I work extra shift at work. The last time I remember when I had a

Comparing Emile Durkheim s The Division Of Labor
In comparing Emile Durkheim s The Division of Labor in Society and readings from the The Rules of
Sociological Method to Peter Berger and Thomas Luckmann s The Social Construction of Reality in
addition to Harriet Martineaus Morals and Manners, Morals of Slavery, and The Political
Nonexistence of Women, all of these authors investigate people as beings that are fundamentally
social that create the basis for society. Even though their perspectives have similar components when
it comes to fundamentally key ideas, they still tend to take different stances on viewing the individuals

This author has had a particular focus on women in politics and how slaves were included in this
social structure during this time period making an effort to convey that all men are born equal and free
as her views were very radical during this time. In comparison to Martineau, Emile Durkheim
emphasizes that the division of labor is a key attribute to the social structure of society as the general
population continues to grow, people will naturally become more disciplined in specialized
professions that will ultimately create institutions as all of these specializations will work together to
benefit society. However, Durkheim does agree with Martineau to the extent that power is diffused
throughout society and ultimately belongs to the government. As government holds the ultimate
authority, punishment will be defined as a reaction as to what has violated laws that have been
instituted in order to maintain standards of moral order. Additionally, Berger and Luckmann make it
clear that it is because people are social beings, people create a society the more we interact with one
another as [man s] relationship to the surrounding environment is everywhere...structured by his own
biological constitution that people attach what they know to be the physical world and build structural
concepts that constitute our society. (Berger and Luckmann, 47.) All address to some degree, that the

Unlike the Minoan Palace of Knossos, the Citadel of Mycenae was heavily fortified and featured
many entrances. It s famous gate, The Lion Gate, is known for its keystone depicting two of the
animal. Though the columns appear Minoan in style, this is a Mycenaean innovation featuring the first
example of monumental sculpture in Greek art. This post and lintel limestone entrance is over 9 6 tall.
Also Mycenaean, the Beehive Tomb at the Treasury of Atreus, complete with corbelling, and post and

Mycenae was full of war and turmoil. A vase, c.1300 100 bc, was dubbed The Warrior Vase for its

The more people the US has serving our country the more secure it is. For example, would you rather

they got to you. The same with our country it would be safer if USA had more service men and

the draft the USA will not have to worry about running out of troops. And people think that might be
bad thing but the chance of one person being drafted is one in two hundred. Another thing if a person
would happen to get drafted their chances of dying are really slim considering that USA have the

Benefits of Dissection
Dissection, by definition, is the pathological splitting or separation of tissue, according to Webster s
online dictionary. Beneath the simple definition lies an immense amount of controversy. This paper
will provide pros and cons regarding ethics of dissection. Dissection has many benefits. The
experience of dissection is unforgettable. Things you can actually touch usually stick in your head
better, according to Dr. Damon Scoville. Dissection is an approach to science that creates a lasting
impression. Students gain many things from an experience with dissection. Some of which include
respect for life, and necessary skills for dissection that will be useful later in higher level classes. The
hand s on job really allows the student to gain a visual an understanding. They learn the true
positioning of organs and have the opportunity to feel them while dissecting. The 3D view and texture
friendly experience are things not offered in textbooks or on screens. (5) Models and paper do not do
justice or serve as a sense of discovery. As Mr. Roger Kassebaum states, If you are going to be a
surgeon or a veterinarian, that tactile feedback is likely important. The procedure for dissection can be
complex. With this complexity comes the opportunity to teach students motor skills, how to follow
directions, observation and comparison skills, and the relationship between tissues and organs. (5) It is
pretty evident that the educational advantages of dissection are great. Mr.

Difference Between Micro And Macroeconomics
The differences between Macroeconomics and Microeconomics
The two aspects of Macroeconomics and Microeconomics are important factors when considering an
academic approach to economics. The understand their significance it is firstly important to define
these two aspects of economics.
Macroeconomics
This aspect of economics, studies the economy as a whole. Macroeconomics requires a study of the
overall performance of the aggregate economy. This can be achieved by looking key measures such as
GDP, Unemployment rates and inflation, major indicators of the overall performance of the economy
itself. By studying this, it can help economists determine the correct fiscal and monetary policies that
would be required for a country to achieve, or if established, maintain a stable growth.
It is most common in Macroeconomics to use larger variables, which are present in the economy to
determine such growth, if we consider government spending, inflation, employment and consumption
when considering a nation s current and future economic outlook (Investopedia, n.d.).
Microeconomics
While Macroeconomics, discussed above deals with a broad approach to the economy,
Microeconomics is quite different. Instead, microeconomics focuses on key agents of the economy.

The hemp plant and marijuana has been around for a long time and has had a variety of purposes.
What is marijuana and how is it consumed?
Marijuana is a greenish gray mixture of the dried, shredded leaves, stems, seeds, and flowers of
Cannabis sativa the hemp plant. (Drugabuse.gov, 2012). It is a naturally occurring plant. It can be
consumed by smoking it, eating it or brewing the leaves into a tea (Drugabuse.gov, 2012). The
preferred method of ingestion is by smoking. Once it is inhaled into the lungs it enters the blood
stream and moves quickly throughout the body eventually making it to the brain.
What physical and mental effects does marijuana have on a person?
Smoking or ingesting marijuana creates a euphoric effect for the user. The effects can range from
being in a mellow or calm mood to sleepiness. Users also exhibit an inability or lack of desire to use
critical thought processes and show little or no motivation to complete normal activities of daily
living. The active ingredient in marijuana that causes these effects is THC or Delta 9
tetrahydrocannabinol (Drugabuse.gov, 2012, July). According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse,
THC binds to specific sites called cannabinoid receptors (CBRs) located on the surface of [the brain]

  • 2. Dolores Huerta Latina Leader For thousands of years immigration to the United States has been considered one of the biggest problems and has been one of the topics most talked about, especially in this year, being one of the favorite topics to talk about in the presidential debates. Yet, due to speeches given by President Donald Trump little is known and talked about the problems immigrants, especially Latinos face day by day, socially and economically. By being a minority in the United States it has been very difficult for immigrant farm workers to get where they are now and have more opportunities than before the 1970s. Fortunately, there have been organizations and leaders that have helped immigrants through the years, one of these being Dolores Huerta. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Socially Huerta fought against discrimination and racism against Latinos, but she did not only help the Latino community, but she also helped fight for women s rights. Although there hasn t been a complete elimination discrimination against minorities and women in the whole country there has been a big improvement. It was while she was working in New York, where she met feminist Gloria Steinem, who inspired her to start a feminist movement (Dolores Huerta). Another big social change is that Latinos became more involved in politics each year. Especially in this year s elections Latinos have proved to have a big influence in state politics as their power have boosted the concentration on the Democratic side as 22 out of 24 are democratic (Los Angeles Times). Now in days Dolores Huerta has continued to influence politicians and organizations to continue helping the Latino/immigrant community. One of these being the U visa program which has helped to encourage more than 2000 immigrants that have suffered from domestic violence to report these crimes without having to fear that they will be deported (Kaitlyn Schallhorn). Politicians such as Jerry Brown in California have also helped the Latino community by providing $ 176.6 million to fix and clean houses (California Latino Legislative). Dolores Huerta has not taken for granted as shown by today and the previous year, her legacy continues as she herself countess helping the Latino community. Creating the United Farm Workers association and helping pass the Agricultural relation acts as being without a doubt one of the most and significant things that Dolores has done to help the immigrant and Latino community ... • 3. Common Core Standards Of Active Learning Active learning focuses the responsibility of learning on the learners, it should be experimental, mindful, and engaging. The learners are required to do things and think about those things they are doing. As a 8th grade math teacher, dealing with the Common Core Standards daily, I feel as if the internal design grammars are set up to produce an active learning environment. The standards were written with verbs, such as: apply, perform, verify experimentally, graph, interpret, construct, and compare; therefore, if a teacher is to have his/her students master these standards, then there should be some active learning going. The problem with this is that teachers do not have enough time in a day, week, or even the year to push the students ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Partition as Madness If I be allowed to quote from the movie, The land is divided, lives are shattered Storms rage in every heart; it s the same here and there... Funeral pyres in every home; the flames mount higher Every city is deserted; it s the same here and there.. No one heeds the Gita; no one heeds the Koran Faith has lost all meaning; here or there.... The partition of India and its subsequent independence is the most barbaric incident in the history of India. Millions of people were forced to leave their homes and many were butchered in the worst possible ways. There was an unorganised and unplanned brutality. The unbelievable part was how could our sense of moral righteousness be handicapped by the actions of a few. How could it be that the same people who had driven the Britishers out of their country could in turn start killing each other. The communal politics reached every nook and cranny in India polluting whole of the country with the advertisement of a freedom of a very unique kind than that imagined by many people of India. The theory of the partition was initially opposed by most of the Indian people. For many people, the riots that took place during partition was completely beyond their wildest imagination. The idea was arbitrary, illogical, gruesome, unreasonable and mad and lead to immense confusion. Today, perhaps, it has become an accepted reality. The Maulvi Saheb in the story of Toba Tek SIngh says that Pakistan is a place in Hindustan where they make cut throat ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Nextgen What is NextGen? NextGen is not just one particular project or aspect. Instead, it is a wide range of changes improvements, and implementations created by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and its partners that are designed to improve and make air travel more efficient and safer today and in the years to come. NextGen has the ability to save air carriers money by reducing fuel costs via shortened and more direct routes. NextGen is the overall modernization of the National Airspace System (NAS) that provides benefits to the air carrier and to the consumers/passengers in that it allows for flights to depart on time, arrive on time (or ahead of schedule), decreases the EPA emissions, thus helping to save the environment, and allows ... Instead of multiple systems talking to one another, all systems will interface with SWIM, which will then disseminate the information as applicable to the user requesting it, as seen in Figure 2. For an example, when a user interfaces with an application appropriate to their role in the airspace system, e.g., controller, dispatcher, pilot, or maintenance coordinator. Each user identifies themself to the system through the application or through a centralized system sign on. • 6. Homecoming Dance During the year, Student Council members have been behind the scenes of events like Homecoming week and the blood drives. Student Council is in charge of a lot of different activities you see, for example the homecoming dance, the snowball dance, the blood drive, they organize, plan it, come up with a theme, and then decorate the events, Rudebusch .Said We basically do most of everything during Homecoming week, It s a really fun group there s energy in the room when they get pretty pumped up we sometimes, Aaron Rudebusch, student council adviser, said. The Homecoming dance Sept. 22 was organized completely by the student council members. Rudebusch works to organize the council members to give them tasks to get it done. When an anxiety response occurs, objectively unthreatening stimuli becomes threatening (Davidson, 2013). To help cope with stress, the brain releases the hormone cortisol (Bear, Connors Paradiso, 2007). During the fear and anxiety response, the central nucleus of the amygdala is active; once active, an excitatory response in the hypothalamus occurs (Davidson, 2013). This excitation causes corticotrophin releasing hormone (CRH) to be released; CRH then triggers the anterior pituitary gland to secrete ACTH (Davidson, 2013). The ACTH levels in the blood stream cause cortisol to be released from the adrenal cortex and once the levels of cortisol become high, the hippocampus activates, suppressing the release of CRH (Davidson, 2013). Baseball Has No Game Clock Essay The batting team attempts to score runs by hitting a ball that is thrown by the pitcher with a bat swung by the batter, then running counter clockwise around a series of four bases: first, second, third, and home plate. A run is scored when a player advances around the bases and returns to home plate. Players on the batting team take turns hitting against the pitcher of the fielding team, which tries to prevent runs by getting hitters out in any of several ways. A player on the batting team who reaches a base safely can later attempt to advance to subsequent bases during teammates turns batting, such as on a hit or by other means. The teams switch between batting and fielding whenever the fielding team records three outs. One turn batting for both teams, beginning with the visiting team, constitutes an inning. A game is composed of nine innings, and the team with the greater number of runs at the end of the game wins. Baseball has no game clock, although almost all games end in the ninth inning. Baseball evolved from older bat and ball games already being played in England by the mid 18th century. This game was brought by immigrants to North America, where the modern version developed. By the late 19th century, baseball was widely recognized as the national sport of the United States. Introduction Multiple salmonid species are known to actively select areas of groundwater upwelling for spawning. Surface water groundwater (SW GW) exchange research has primarily focused on the importance of intra gravel flow that supports fish egg incubation success, through moderated water temperature, dissolved oxygen content and removal of respiration waste (Webster and Eiriksdottir 1976, Curry and Noakes 1995, Baxter and Hauer 2000 Geist 2001). Although this spawning habitat selection is likely to mediate conditions for juvenile salmonid rearing, the role that surface water groundwater (SW GW) exchange plays in post emergent salmonid growth has not been well studied (except Jungwirth et al 2000). In this study, we performed a field experiment to test if SW GW exchanges increased post emergent fish growth. • 25. Madness In Hamlet Analysis The key theme of madness in Hamlet serves the critical roles of the play, serving to depict the chaos and turbulence reigning through the lives of all within the play. Characters portraying both feigned and authentic madness, such as Hamlet and Ophelia, serve pertinent roles displaying the corruption and destruction of the mind when left alone without a guiding figure, most significantly one in the role of a father, and restrained without a chance to speak freely. Shakespeare creates a definitive line between the sane and mad characters within the play, both in dialogue and presence in many scenes. In the dialogue of both Hamlet and Ophelia in the apex of their madness, as Yi Chi Chen states in his Pregnant with Madness Ophelia s Struggle and Madness in Hamlet, Other than being pregnant in madness, Hamlet s and Ophelia s language is also pregnant with madness (Chen 14.) Through this remark, Chen states that not only is their language sprinkled with puns and dark humor that reflects a meaning underneath a cover of meaningless remarks, their remarks serve to bring about, the truth that lies beneath the masquerade like court of Denmark, each in their own ways (Chen 14.) Hamlet, with his incense towards the marriage between Claudius and Gertrude, serves to utter his disregard towards this relationship in his biting remarks towards both parties. Ophelia, in her utter dismay at the rejection of her love by Hamlet and her father s death, serves to facilitate her thoughts through the use of madness, speaking her mind clearly on her thoughts on Hamlet s exploitation of the mind of women, showcasing her sorrow and heavy burden. While the sane merely remain aloof to the sorrows at hand, the mad seek to reflect them in their true light through backwards remarks and sly words. Most significantly, this dividing line between the sane and mad is first seen in the character of Hamlet. Throughout the play, one of Hamlet s key struggles remains to be his inability to express his desire to rise to action in the name of his father, Old Hamlet, who spurs him to honor his name through revenge. This author has had a particular focus on women in politics and how slaves were included in this social structure during this time period making an effort to convey that all men are born equal and free as her views were very radical during this time. In comparison to Martineau, Emile Durkheim emphasizes that the division of labor is a key attribute to the social structure of society as the general population continues to grow, people will naturally become more disciplined in specialized professions that will ultimately create institutions as all of these specializations will work together to benefit society. However, Durkheim does agree with Martineau to the extent that power is diffused throughout society and ultimately belongs to the government. As government holds the ultimate authority, punishment will be defined as a reaction as to what has violated laws that have been instituted in order to maintain standards of moral order.
