Anzac Legend Analysis
The Anzac spirit was born on the twenty fifth of April 1915, when Australian soldiers landed upon
the shores of Gallipoli to serve their country for the first time. Each year Australians celebrate the
mateship, courage and heroism the Anzac soldiers showed during the Gallipoli campaign.
Although, people tend to depict these soldiers as victims of a catastrophic trauma, yet this
passionate sacrifice is what gave Australiaits name. Furthermore, word of discussion argues the
truth behind the accuracy of the Anzac Legend. Through the analysis of sources, it is demonstrated
that the Anzac Legend displays numerous inspirational characteristics. Thus, the Legend of
mateship, heroism and courage is an accurate representation of the fighting Australian and New
Zealand soldiers in world war one.
After the Anzac s landed in Gallipoli, they were in combat for approximately eight and a half
months. Throughout this long and tedious period of time the soldiers went through many traumatic
experiences. Although, looking into the face of death the soldiers were able to have a spirit of
mateship to make conditions bearable. They gave their lives for a supreme cause in gallant
comradeship with the rest of my soldiers who fought and died with them (Di, 2008). This source
explains that the soldiers put their fellow comrades before themselves as mateship prioritised by
them. Because of this the word mateship stands out today and inspires many Australians. Therefore,

Labor Union History
A labor union can be defined as an organization of workers dedicated to protecting their interests in
the workplace and improving wages, hours, and working conditions (Carrell Heavrin, 2013, p. 41).
It has also been mentioned how the United States has various labor unions and that these unions fall
into a smaller number of broad groups. Also, union membership in the United Stateshas fallen from
20.3 percent in 1983 to 11.8 percent in 2011, according to the Labor Department (Mason, 2017).
Currently, one of the top labor unions is the National Education of the United States. With this
Union, it has roughly around 3.2 million members and it is the nation s largest union as it

My Personal Experiences In My Life
Essay #1 Have you ever felt like life is difficult? Or not to your expectations? Chances are that we
all have to deal with some difficult situations at times. When I was in Middle School I struggled
to fit in with my classmates. I have always been quiet and just listened to their conversations.
They always had so much to talk about and plans to see movies and other plans such as going to
parties and other social gatherings. But I was never included or invited. I remember one day I
came home and went straight to my room, laid down on my bed and cried. My mom came into
my room and asked what was wrong. I told her what happened that made me feel very sad and cry.
A girl in my group passed out invitations for her birthdaypartyto everyone but me. My mother told
me that if I had received the invitation for the birthday partyI would probably be ignored and they
would act like as if I wasn t there. And she also said this is a life lesson that I want you to
remember, when you invite someone make sure you include the whole group or invite privately.
Then she told her story about not having time to be with friends. She came to Santa Barbara
from Mexico when she was seventeen years old with her older sister. A single mother of two
daughters, one that was five years old and the other six and a half. And also my mother s
youngest sister who was seven years old. They came to live with their aunt who had seven
children of her own all under eighteen years old. They lived in a four

The Development Of Software Development
I. Introduction
In today s software development, quality is a significant factor of software projects. Companies
always expect that software developers could deliver a product with as many as possible demanded
quality. How to allocate those limited resources transparently and effectively during the quality
assurance activities and how to balance the risk and quality while software development? Current
methods indicate us that we need to mitigate quality risks and emphasize the constraints of limited
resources for quality assurance activities simultaneously.
Moreover, as the development of software management, the time of which customers could not see
their software product until delivering is gone. Nowadays, it is much more emphasis on getting the
feedback of stakeholder about the project quality. Therefore, a major issue is how could developers
or software project managers reaches an agreement with customers about project functions or
features. In order to solve this problem, Alexander Poth and Ali Sunyaev attempt to establishing a
method, which allow stakeholder could participate in the selection of functions and features phase.
To do this, both project developers and stakeholders would have a confidence of the quality of a
project. Due to this attempt, they develop the effective quality management, which focuses on the
effectiveness of risk mitigation during project process.

The Importance of Understanding and Interpreting Leisure Trends and Forecasts for Leisure
Managers, and Provide Examples of Their Use
The continually changing and occurring, media driven sports industry must be fully aware of the
current and upcoming trends which occur and impact youth and society. To develop an insight into
the relationship between both understanding and interpreting leisure trends and how this directly
implicates leisure managers they need to be completely aware of how their ideas will be
interpreted by the public. The concept of understanding and interpreting leisure trends comes from

The plans and policies for businesses are dealing with new issues and ideas within society, keeping
up with the regular changes of the time and age. Thus leisure providers need to continually
research and provide the right trends at the right times in order for a successful venture. Changes,
which occur, allow new trends and ideas to become endorsed into society, making the consumers
see the significance of products which managers and leisure providers want to make profitable.
Managers will appreciate the need to adapt to changing situations. They will also be made aware
of the demand for more individual and social leisure pursuits. Torkildsen (1999) Page 131
Torkildsen (1999) page 158 goes on to say how the latter part of the 20th century led the way for
social change, as more participants began to take part in leisure activities thus from the changes
that began to take place in the work and home environment. From an increased population and
increased disposable income, greater emphasis was being placed on personal independent
lifestyles, as society was beginning to put emphasis on self satisfaction. With more leisure time,
leisure providers began to do more research on what the needs of the participants are, focusing on
the future changes and planning for likely

Acts Of Bioterrorism
Bioterrorism refers to biological agents (microbes or toxins) used as weapons to further personal
or political agendas. Acts of bioterrorism range from a single exposure directed at an individual by
another individual to government sponsored biological warfare resulting in mass casualties. (CDC)
The way that bioterrorism happens is that there is a deliberate release of germs or other biological
substances that can cause individuals to become sick. This attack happens internally rather than
externally. According to Centers for disease Control and Prevention (CDC), In the U.S., the risk of
contracting anthraxis extremely low. The intentional release of anthrax following the events of 9/11

The club can accept the commercial advertisement offers to gain the profit, furthermore they try
to raise the price of the related products of players or the team to gain more revenues from the
sales. Since a consortium of foreign investors has interest in rescuing the business and improving
the performance of the club under the circumstance that the debt is reduced or rescheduled, the
club can try to negotiate with the consortium to agree on a valid contract. The content of
contract, for example, can be that if the team succeeds in wining a certain grade in the next
football season, the consortium should decide to invest in exchange. If the team obtains the
investment successfully, it should first pay a part of the debt of Bank Beta in case of worse
situation. Due to the agreement of the preliminary negotiation with the bondholders, Gamma
Bank and trade creditors, the team can choose to ask for a partial write off and the rescheduling
of the maturity dates. According to the financial advisor of the team, the current market value of
Bank Beta s collateral is lower than the face value of its secured claim. Therefore, based on the
rules relevant to pledge in the property law, the team can meet its liabilities by letting Bank Beta

Emma think of straightjackets and padded cells. The cold linoleum floor, however, resembled
icepacks, soothing her road beaten bare feet. The smooth surface felt like a pillow compared to the

The stark obviousness that Emma had only the clothing she wore, made Shelly s question feel

absurd, but painful, considering everything she owned is now gone. She blurted, I must have

Similarities Between Christians And Byzantines
In this course, we have learned about three medieval worlds that existed in regions bordering the
Mediterranean Sea: the Latin Christian ruled world, the Byzantine ruled world, and the Muslim
ruled world. Some historians argue that all of these worlds were really part of one larger
Mediterranean Cultural world, while others argue that each world was actually very different. I
stand on the side of separate but connected in this debate. The extent that these three worlds were
similar politically was the constant power struggles, Culturally the connection through trade, and
Religiously their prevalent worship of god. The extent were they different politically was their
diplomatic/war relations, Culturally their language and arts, and Religiously how they practiced
their religion.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When a King, emperor, pope, or other powerful position was taken down both worlds would cut out

are fractured. The Latin Christians have kingdoms and empires that fight for land and resources in
europe. While Muslims have a similar power struggle with rivaling Caliphates. Both areas are
connected within themselves culturally but fight against their own kind for power.Political
similarities between the Byzantines and Muslims is their view, treatment and history with the Latin
Christians. Both saw the Christians or Franks as courageous but ignorant, greedy, and idiotic at
times. This is because of the multiple invasions the Christian s undertook unto both Muslim and
Byzantine lands. Latin Christian s tendency to make a deal with you today and stab you tomorrow

The Southwest Is A Region Of The United States
The southwest is a region of the United States that makes our country unique. Without the
southwest, we would undoubtedly lack the spirit, hope, beauty, and truth that this vast region brings
to the rest of the United States as a whole. The southwest represents many things, such as
journeying, racism, violence, the clashing and cooperation of cultures, and spirituality, as well as
primitivism and pastoralism. All of these elements that the Southwest is comprised of is perhaps
the reason why the rest of the country feels so captivated by it; why the southwest is considered a
place to find yourself or to regenerate ; and why literature and film regarding the Southwest has
been and continues to be of the most popular genres. The westernfilm was one of the most popular
during the first half of the twentieth century. Audiences far and wide were mesmerized by actors
such as John Wayne and Roy Rogers, and their roles as heroes who fought to tame the American
frontier. This very concept, taming the frontier , gives way to a larger theme that was prevalent in
many western films and literature of the southwest: ubi sunt, or rather where are those who came
before us? . Director Sam Peckinpahs The Ballad of Cable Hogueportrays this idea better than any
other western film; the concept of ubi sunt is undeniably the film s overarching theme, clearly seen
through its components.
By conquering the frontier, characters in western films portray how they, as well as society at this

Should College Should Be Free For College
This has always been a question to students if, college should be free to continue their education.
In most cases people believe students should not pay for college. Many students could benefit if
college was free. A group of researchers studied that the out come free college could result to,
lower income students will have a chance for a degree, Student debt will no longer ruien students,
and more people will attend college. First, this is a major benefit for lower income students is that
now they have an opportunity to attend college without worrying about financial aid money.
Letting college be free will eliminate the excuses for not graduating. This would also improve
the college graduation rates, as it makes it accessible for low income students to attend. Second,
student debt will no longer exist. This will allow students to be smart in controlling more money
and responsibly. Most students will also have more money to continue on their major. It will also
help low income save then to waste money they don t have yet. Final, college will allow more
people to attend college. This is far most important because people will raise the population of
people with a degree. This will also help future generations maintain a healthy grit mentality to
attend college. This will also encourage the people to have a better future and healthier life style. In
the first claim, it explains that lower income students have an opportunity to attend college, without

DATE: 19 October 2013
Introduction
North east (NE) India is connected to remaining part of India through a constricted passage known
as Siliguri Corridor squeezed between Nepal and Bangladesh (Hussain, 2011). It comprises of
seven sister states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and
Tripura. The region shares more than 4500 km of international border with China, Myanmar,
Bangladesh and Bhutan. The region is presently facing acute problem of drug addicts who operate

Sources reveal the trans border smuggling routes starting from Khamti (Myanmar) to Noklak and
Mokokchung in Nagaland (India), from Mandalay (Myanmar) via Tamu to Moreh in Manipur
(India) and from Homalin (Myanmar) to Kohima (India) (Dolabhai, 2003).
Recommendations
The present scenario of drug abuse in NE India is very alarming as the future of the states is in ruin.
Three simultaneous actions are recommended to resolve the problem. These are checking the trans
border smuggling of drugs, tackling the existing drug users and deterring fresh case. These can be
implemented through strict vigil, Systematic De addiction and Rehabilitation Programme (SDRP)
and by generating scope for healthy livelihood.
Strict VigilThe very first challenge is to impose strict check at the international borders again
drug trafficking. The second challenge is to increase awareness regarding the adverse effect of
drug abuse through mass campaigning. Young Mizo Association (YMA), a local organization
created by the youths of Mizoram observed that drug abuse cases in the state in decline. Since
2004, 143 drugs related death case has been reported and by June 2008, the same has come down
to only four. However, harsh punishment method employed by YMA called Supply Reduction
Service drew flak from many quarters including the local media the human rights activists. (Outlook

Public Water Supply For Drinking And Agricultural Water
Brazos River, the streams and lakes along the river are a major source of public water supply for
drinking and agricultural uses for communities in around the Brazos River basin. Segment 1242
of Brazos River and the watersheds (Leon River watershed and Lower Brazos Little Brazos
watershed) and their tributaries flowing into Brazos river in this segment are known to be
impaired for bacteria, salts, nutrients and chlorophyll a (TCEQ, 2013). The flow of nutrients from
rain water run off from land into Brazos River results in eutrophication of the river and algae

4.2Objectives
The purpose of modeling the fate and transport of pollutants in surface water is for a better
understanding of the relationship between pollutant loads during rainfall events and to be able to
simulate and make predictions of future water quality conditions. By connecting stream flow rates
model to pollutant loads, the relationship between pollutant transport and water quality can be
determined. For this research, models of the fate and transport of the chloride and sulfate in Leon
River was constructed.
4.3Conceptual Model
The conceptual model for this research is a network model which models the rate of flow of
pollutant through a connected network of points in surface water. The water quality monitoring
stations represent such points and serve as containers. From analysis of the water quality
monitoring measurements of pollutants at each chosen station, it is observed that the concentration
levels of pollutants tend to be high where it has not rained for a long time compared to where it
rained the previous day or few days ago. This then can be interpreted to mean that the concentration
of pollutant in surface water is proportional to the amount of water in the surface water body.
Drought condition will concentrate the pollutants, while on the other hand rain events help to
dilute the pollutes because of increase of water and also contribute to the flow of the pollutant from
one point to the other

The Grapes Of Wrath And Virginia Woolf s Mrs. Dalloway
The mid twentieth century represents a turbulent period of history in the western world from the
devastating effects of the Great Depression that began in 1929 to the bloodshed of World War II,
people were forced to adapt to unfamiliar and changing circumstances. The effects of these events
were especially felt in the United States and Britain, and the two countries set the scene for John
Steinbecks The Grapes of Wrathand Virginia Woolf s Mrs. Dalloway. The Grapes of Wrath
recounts the tale of the Joad family, farm owners who, after being forced off their land by big
business, head west to California in search of work only to find discrimination and further
hardship. Their story exemplifies the struggles faced by low income families unequipped to deal
with the changing reality of the American economy and reveals the nature of big business and
unregulated capitalism. At first glance, it seems that Mrs. Dalloway tells a very different story.
Clarissa Dalloway, a wealthy London woman, is spending her day planning one of her extravagant
parties. Although its characters are not struggling to find their next meal, through a stream of
consciousness style and an array of unique and complex characters the novel tackles many of the
same problems seen in The Grapes of Wrath. As these two nations face and recover from their
respective crises, Steinbeck s The Grapes of Wrath and Woolf s Mrs. Dalloway highlight the
changing ways in which the American and British people interact with

U.s. National Bureau Of Economic Research
In December of 2007 the Great Recession hit not only the american but the world s economy.
According to the U.S. National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) the struggle didn t end
in the United States until June 2009, and therefore had a duration of about 18 months. This
global crisis ranks fourth in terms of the weighted sum of countries suffering it (NBER).
Consumers, who had been the engine of the economy for the past several decades, suffered the
loss of their jobs. Between 2008 and 2009, the U.S. labor market lost 8.4 million jobs, or 6.1% of
all payroll employment (State of Working America). This resulted in the most sever consumer
spending decline since World War II and the worst employment contraction since the Great
Depression, reaching a peak of 10% of all the workforce on October 2009 (BLS). The economy
was already faltering in the banking sector, but it finally crashed with the dearth of credit. As a
heart distributes the blood throughout the human body, even reaching the limbs, allowing the

When the banking sector stops giving credit, the whole economy freezes since businesses don t

as follows: Profit and growth are stimulated primarily by customer loyalty. Loyalty is a direct
result of customer satisfaction. Satisfaction is largely influenced by the value of services
provided to customers. Value is created by satisfied, loyal, and productive employees. Employee
satisfaction, in turn, results primarily from high quality support services and policies that
enable employees to deliver results to customers (J. Heskett, T. Jones, G. Loveman, E. Sasser, L.
Schlesinger, 1994). They have found that the value of a satisfied customer is huge because they
can become a loyal customer, and will also affect their peers to become loyal customers as well.
Over time, a loyal customer can bring in thousands of dollars for a company. One interesting way
to analyze customer satisfaction is to look at the apostles and terrorists. Apostles are those
customers that are so pleased with a product or company, that they get more people to like the
product as well. Terrorists are those customers who are so displeased that

Carbon-14 Dating In Anthropology
Two skeletons were uncovered at Deerwood Park, August 21, 2017, early in the morning on a
marked trail. No IDs or identification were found on the pair when searched. The police have
asked us, forensic anthropologists Dr. Doe and Dr. Smith from Oklahoma University, to identify
one of these sets of remains. We were given the humerus, femur, cranium, mandible, and pelvis of
the body to measure and examine to determine sex, ethnic origin, age, and height. Our findings
have led to us believe the victim was male due to the sub pubic angle being 90 degrees, lying
distinctly in the male range of 90 degrees, and the pelvic cavity shape forming into a heart like
form and expressing the sacrum and coccyx which differs from a female which shows mainly...

This technique involves science and art as it guesses on how the soft tissues may have fitted on
the skull based on skull characteristics, sex, and race. The facial sculpting uses molding clay to
create a modal of what the victim may have looked like in life. However, if this fails we could
use carbon 14 dating. Carbon 14 dating deals with the radiocarbon found in the air we breathe
due to the above ground nuclear testing increase; teeth grown in intervals and absorb these
microscopic molecules. In adults they can help date time of birth within a 1.5 range which can
allow for investigators to search for hospitals that apply to the year of birth with the other
evidence such as race, sex, age, ect to help narrow the search. Additionally, another test we could
use called bone analysis. It is a basic test because, simply put, it is the observation of the bones.
Bone analysis permits the collecting of past injuries to the bone such as a broken femur or a
fracture to the occipital region of the skull that could be used to slim down the search among
missing persons. Thus, allowing investigators to exclude missing persons who do not have these
past injuries to the bone and focus on whose who s families have reported that they

The 60 s Research Paper
The 1960 s was the period that saw the greatest revolution in popular music. It was due to many
features, such as the change in social structures, cultural shifts, and new technologies. The music
was novelty, powerful, and relayed a message to those who listened. Rock music seemed to embody
the change that the young generation wanted to see in the world after their parents generation
destroyed it. Many of the artists, such as the Beatlesand Bob Dylan, remain major influences to
musicians to this day, and their music still remains very popular. The music in the 60 s was
egalitarian, promoting equality; eclectic, deriving influences from many different styles; and real,
relating music to the world.

The Beatles especially seemed to have songs influenced by LSD, such as Lucy in the Sky with

the genre, with many artists of many backgrounds gaining popularity. Women like Janis Joplin,
African Americans like Jimi Hendrix, and even white British men such as the Beatles all gained
popularity. It included everyone. Since there was no disclusion, there were influences from many
different backgrounds and musical styles. There was folk influences such as Dylan, pop
influences from the Beatles, soul influences from Aretha Franklin, and even African American
influences that led to Motown. These styles led to the formations and beginnings of new types
of musical styles, from people who began to mix genres. People such as Jimi Hendrix began to
take the already laid groundwork of the rock sound and turn it into their own, in the matter of a
decade. Hendrix was best known for his amazing guitar skills, and was able to throw down mighty
solos and flights. Jamerson also recreated the role of bass through Motown. These new ways of
creating music and experimentation, combined with the integration of the rock community, led to a

Human Condition
One of the reasons the movement is so difficult to define is because many of these thinkers have
differing views on what the human condition is, which is at the center of the study of
existentialism. Something that is found to be common between many existentialist, though, is their
consistent and utter rejection to any and all systems, theories and organizational constructs that
attempt to answer the question of the human condition, and give value to our existence in a
comprehensive approach whether they are based in religion, science or philosophy.
One of the most historically outstanding systems which claims to explain some core existential
questions about the human condition is religion. Religion was something that filled the void of the
existential question for as long as humanity has existed, and alleviate the concern of creating
meaning and purpose. Existentialist thinkers have adopted the belief that following organized ...

Oftentimes, constructs such as religion offer a partial experience, often such systems will see the
meaning and purpose to life as somehow emanating from an alternative, objective realm, such as
heaven. However; in doing so they lose sight of the perspective of what life is like for an
individual living on this earth and experiencing all the fears, anxieties, hopes and disappointments
that are a part of the human condition. For example, many of the mass organized religions often
provide answers to many of the vexing questions of life from the perspective of an all knowing and
all powerful God, whose word is thought to be communicated to us through prophets. However,
existentialists stress that what we most need is not a divine perspective of the human condition, but

Hypertext and Literary Study Essay
Hypertext and Literary Study
Hypertextual fiction (hyperfiction) and other hypertext applications are making their way into the
literature courses where, Professor Larry Friedlander says, learning has basically meant the study
of texts, in the form of the printed word (257). And these newer works, inseparable from their
contemporary technologies, offer the possibility of a very different type of literary study than the
one most English majors experience in traditional literature courses. Print and book technology
perpetuate and validate linear experience, thought, and narratives, which buttresses a hierarchical
educational structure that shapes the roles of writers, readers, teachers, and students. Challenging

I. Fixed in Print: Our Inheritances from the Renaissance
As readers and as scholars many of us tend not to identify the organizational layout of print books as
evidence of socially valued formats regarding the proper forms of narrative, thought, and conveying
meaning. To many modern readers print technology is just the natural form for narrative
entertainment or study. Although printed texts just seem natural, they reinforce concepts of
stability, finality, authority, and even immortality. The pursuit of a final authoritative, authentic text
not unrelated to the final draft students submit in literature courses is an endeavor of great
historical significance, especially in terms of literary history. It was establishing the original text
that the Renaissance scholars thought their main task ..., notes Richard Lanham, The aim of all
this was to fix the text forever (quoted in Slatin 155). One of the icons of the English literary
canon, Shakespeare himself went so far as to praise the immortality of print in his famous sonnet
sequence. Many of his sonnets like 19, 55, and 60 contain references to the lasting quality of art;

Little Miss Sunshine Belonging Essay
Hello, my name is Valerie Faris, and I am one of the co directors (along with Jonathan Dayton) of
the film, Little Miss Sunshine . When making this film, my co director and I heavily aimed to
portray the different ways we as human beings search to find our place in the world. We focused on
the conception of building relationships and trust within the concept of a family. We wanted to
convey the concept that when it comes to family, its never too late to re connect and belong.
Our film follows an extended family on their journey from New Mexico to California, as young
daughter Olive prepares to compete in the Little Miss Sunshine beauty pageant.
In the beginning of the film, each member of the family feels isolated from one another, ... Show

All it takes is Olives small hand upon his shoulder and he starts to calm down. This conveys that
although he does not feel a connection to anyone else around him, he will always feel one to
Olive, and it reminds him that he is on this trip for her. By dressing her in red, we also highlighted
her determination to win the Little miss sunshine contest and to make her appear more vulnerable
to the harsh treatment by the girls at the pageant, to which physically, she does not belong.
This use of colour continues throughout the film, with the bright yellow VW bus, which acted as a
motif. We used the colour yellow to evoke feelings of happiness and optimism, symbolising the
families journey of re connecting, of hope, and to reinforce the individual versus the collective
action working together for a change rather then separating themselves as individuals. We chose the
ridiculous loud and irreparable car horn to symbolise and reinforce the dysfunction of the family,
and convey the initial lack of connection.
Portrayal of the progress of the family was very important, and the van was used to symbolise this.
It started to break down just as the family was at its peak of frustration, however when they all
worked together to give it a pushing start, the van was able to continue on its journey. This
highlighted their restoring sense

The Last Of The Mohicans Character Analysis
The Last of the Mohicans is a novel series by James Fenimore Cooper. This novel series takes
place in Colonial America, Frontier in the 1750 s. Throughout The Last of the Mohicans the
main character is Hawkeye. Hawkeye has many problems during the story but the big conflict is
his struggle to conform to society s expectations. Through Cooper s eyes, it is possible for
Hawkeye to be a savage and a gentleman, a killer and a peacemaker, a loner and a lover. The
frontier gives Hawkeye an opportunity to have many possibilities throughout the story to live a
life of opposites. His personality is made up of many of those opposite. One of those opposite
personalities is him being a savage and a gentleman. One of these examples that are shown of
him being a savage is him fighting throughout the whole story and taking out his enemies.
Especially during the Huron and British fight when Hawkeye takes people out to make his way
to Quora. When he does this he makes everything look so easy as if he was trained for it. In

This gentleman personality is also shown a lot throughout the story. For example, once he makes
his way over to Quora during the Huron British fight. Hawkeye starts to comfort Quora and
make her feel safe bringing out his gentleman skills. As well as being a gentleman to Quora s
sister and keeping both of them safe while they travel throughout their experiences. Hawkeye uses
his gentleman and savage personalities a lot throughout the novel series because of the
opportunity he has to use them. Not only does the frontier give him opportunities to use his
savage and gentleman skills but it also gives him an opportunity to show his killer and
peacemaker skills. These killer peacemaker traits are viewed in the movie and in the text. In the
text, Hawkeye is fighting with an Indian. The narrator says, Deerslayer, after tossing the tomahawk
into the canoe, advanced to his victim, and stood over him, leaning on his rifle, in melancholy

Reading Admissions Essay
Since childhood, I have been enamored with reading. My passion for reading was passed from
my mother who has always advocated literacy to my siblings and me. During elementary school,
my teachers would send report cards with comments admonishing me for reading throughout
class. A novel would be hidden behind a textbook or in my lap, and I would sneak a glance
whenever possible. When school was dismissed, my nose would be buried inside a book. I would
read anything I could get my hands on: my brother s books, my mom s Women s Day
magazines, and even the backs of cereal boxes. I would snuggle up in blankets, grab the latest
Magic Treehouse book, and plunge into magical worlds for countless hours. Every summer break I
would spend my time reading numerous books for my library s Summer Reading Program.
My preferences changed as I grew older. By age eleven, I was reading Young Adult Fiction,
which challenged me more than children s novels. The Harry Potter, Maximum Ride, and Lord of
the Rings series enthralled me, and I waited desperately for each installment to be released. It was
also during this time that I read my family s collection of classics. The cultures and time periods in

Stand And Hit Or Ground
Stand and Hit or Ground and Submit?
Are you a good ground fighter ? Or maybe you prefer a stand up style of self defense/martial arts?
In a self defense situation (not a competition), would you try to take the fight to the ground
(grappling/wrestling), or would do your best to stay on your feet (standup/striking)? Many styles do
focus on one of these two options. Some are more standup/striking oriented like Kung Fu, Karate,
Taekwondo, and Boxing/Kick Boxing. These rely mainly upon punches, kicks, elbow/knee and
other strikes, along with some standing grabs, pins, and even throws. Others like Brazilian Jijitsu
and Judo focus on taking the fight to the ground and winning the fight via various grappling
techniques. Of course, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One cannot know what the arena may be for an unknown real life encounter. Sharp objects like
glass, rocks, gravel, tools, and an endless number of other things could prove to be a serious danger
to someone rolling around on the ground during a fight.
More situational awareness:
A stand up focused approach to fighting allows one to keep good situational awareness. Being
aware of one s surroundings is always important, in any given situation in life, but that is
especially true during a self defense event. For example, it is far easier to quickly notice a drawn
weapon while standing up on your feet.
If you go to the ground, it may provide an easy opportunity for others to join the fight...on the
other side. For instance, you may be on the ground and even in full guard, but that will leave your
back and the back of your head exposed as an easy target. One can always be attacked by multiple
opponents (regardless of posture), but one will usually fare better in such an occasion while
standing running is often the best option here anyway.
More distance when needed:
With proper training, one can keep the fight at a longer range with powerful kicks, and an unskilled
opponent may not know how to respond to skilled kicks.

Fox News is known for having a Republican bias, and its bias was very prevalent in the use of

The Degree Of Mba Degree
There is controversy in the added value a student gets out of a degree in Masters of Business
Administration (MBA). Experts outside of the field argue that the MBA degree program
provides courses for students, but that the courses are not teaching the students skills that they
need for the field. Chris Roebuck says that MBA School graduates educated bad leaders, (62).
Jeffrey Pfeffer; a professor of organizational behavior says that not all successful business leaders
have an MBA degree (12). Supporting professor Pfeffer, Charles Haddad mentions that
successful businessmen have made a career without a degree in MBA. For example, Bill Gates
and Ted Turner say they didn t bother with the degree because over a span of years the degree
lessens in value (12). Attaining an MBA degree has better benefits than those who don t because a
degree ensures that you are qualified and skillful in doing your job. Having an MBA degree
enhances managementpractice because it gives you tools that prepare you for the field, a broader
perspective on how business is run, and enriches your learning experience by networking with
peers of various disciplines. MBA programs are designed to prepare, and enhance managers for
difficulties they might find in the field. Having an MBA gives the manager a broader perspective
on the business as a whole, and allows more strategic decisions that will ultimately impact the
bottom line. Studies suggest that for most managers, the MBA program was seen to

Set aside the physical demands of conditioning, a fight lasts as short as a one punch knock out to

submission or loss of consciousness would toughen a human far more than the toll a body takes
in any other sport. Another factor that is somewhat overlooked is the effect fans have on a sport

of the UFC fan base may cause the opposition to question the true loyalty and passion of the fans
of the UFC. Just watching an event live, however, you can really see the intrigue and energy in

People don t like to bring family or friends over while they are on vacation just to feed their fish.
I would suggest going to a fish store and picking up items you need a few days before you go on
vacation. You will either need to buy fish feeders or you will need to buy automatic fish feeders
and put fish flakes inside of them. They will turn every day and feed the fish flakes while you
are gone. You need to remember to keep the feeders on the opposite sides of the bubbler or they
will clog with water and the fish feeder will stop working. You will need to take a look at your
fish before you leave for vacation. If you notice that their fins are torn or they have white
speckles on their gills or fins you will need to give them medication for fin rot and ich. Make
sure that your bubbler, filter and heaters are working properly before you leave for vacation. If
your power goes out the filter may kick back on along with everything else. I wouldn t suggest
putting everything on a plug in that can be shut off with a button because your other animals,
dogs and cats, can shut off the power strips and cut off bubblers and filters. You will want to
change the water at least 20 percent before you leave for vacation. You can purchase feeders
which you put in your tank which last up to 2 weeks but I would grab several of them. Put them
in areas away from bubblers so that they don t disperse as fast. The 3 days feeders are usually
gone in one day. Fish can go a few days without eating but you can t leave them alone for weeks
without feeding your fish. You will need to give them quite a bit of food before you leave but
don t give them a lot of excess food because it will make the water cloudy and all the levels in the
fish tank will go up while you are gone. You will need to purchase either fish feeders you place in
the bottom of the tank or automatic fish feeders which spin on the top of the tank. If you buy

Why Homosexual Marriage Is Harmful And Must Be Opposed
The article I will be deconstructing is so pleasantly and simply titled, 10 Reasons Why
Homosexual Marriage is Harmful and Must be Opposed . I d like to preface my paper with this: It
was posted and written by FTP Student Action, a fundamentally conservative student organization.
Many of their statements are based on biblical teachings and beliefs. As such, many of the
arguments presented are subjective and perceived validity will vary with one s religious standpoint.
The primary claim is that homosexual marriage is morally, socially, and biologically wrong. Each
supporting statement is separated into list format, so the connecting thread ended up being a bit
disjointed. Collectively the argument appears deductive, though unsound. It ... Show more content

Given these two statements, it is concluded that a union of two of the same gender would not
constitute a real marriage. This would be considered an appeal to tradition fallacy. Saying that
something must be done a certain way because it s always been done that way does not mean that
it is the true or right thing to do.
Next, they argue that homosexual relations are a violation of natural law. It s stated that marriage
is a relationship rooted in human nature and thus governed by natural law . This would be
engaging in an appeal to nature fallacy: a tactic in which it is proposed that a thing is good
because it is natural , or bad because it is unnatural . It is also untrue. Marriage is an not an
institution ingrained in natural law it is a societal construct that has no empirical definition other
than what society has decided it to be.
It is then claimed that non hetero families raise children deprived of either his natural mother or
father . They make the analogy that there are evident difficulties faced by the many children who
are orphans or are raised by a single parent, a relative, or a foster parent. This could be considered
a false analogy due to the fact that in most homosexual families there is not just one parent
involved in raising the child. The writer uses these cases to conclude that same sex marriage
ignores a child s best interests ,

Survivor Of War Ibadete Quotes
Survivor of war tells about a girl name Ibadete who was in a situation where she could have almost
lost her life and she lost both of her legs. People were very inspired by how she managed to be
strong and always been a positive person. Before her legs were blown off, Ibadete was a normal 14
years old girl who listen to music and wears jeans and is from Kosovo in the southern europe.
Kosovo was in war between two groups called The Serbs and The Albanians and Ibadete was a
albanian. People were afraid that the Serbs came in and would kill everyone in the village. To get
away from the serbs, the village would set up a camp in a nearby forest where they would stay to
survive. Every night, the villagers would hear bombs dropping

Traditional Belief Of Interracial Marriage
Traditionally, people have believed that when a person marries outside of their race, they do so
as a way to escape from their race, culture, or traditional beliefs. In contrast, popular culture
theorizes that interracial marriages are motivated not by a desire to leave behind one s heritage,
but by love between two people who happen to be of different races. In this paper, I seek to
analyze and compare these two perspectives, proposing a theory that combines the two by
accounting for a person s upbringing and beliefs when deciding what their motivation may be. I
first analyze the traditional belief of interracial marriagein comparison to the popular culture belief
and present my theory combining the two. I then analyze the effect of dominant versus
nondominant culture on motivations, and use examples from popular culture to look at the effect a
person s culture and upbringing can have their motivations for marriage. Lastly, I explain how my
perspective will affect the way I live my life.
Interracial marriage has traditionally been viewed as a means of expressing a hatred of oneself,
of escaping something in one s culture or self that one no longer wants to identify with. Jacki
Thompson Rand describes the outcome of this phenomenon in an essay on her experience as the
child of an interracial marriage. She explains how her mother married a white man in an effort to
make herself more white, and therefore more legitimate: My mother s marriage to my father was a
racial love

  • 2. Anzac Legend Analysis The Anzac spirit was born on the twenty fifth of April 1915, when Australian soldiers landed upon the shores of Gallipoli to serve their country for the first time. Each year Australians celebrate the mateship, courage and heroism the Anzac soldiers showed during the Gallipoli campaign. Although, people tend to depict these soldiers as victims of a catastrophic trauma, yet this passionate sacrifice is what gave Australiaits name. Furthermore, word of discussion argues the truth behind the accuracy of the Anzac Legend. Through the analysis of sources, it is demonstrated that the Anzac Legend displays numerous inspirational characteristics. Thus, the Legend of mateship, heroism and courage is an accurate representation of the fighting Australian and New Zealand soldiers in world war one. After the Anzac s landed in Gallipoli, they were in combat for approximately eight and a half months. Throughout this long and tedious period of time the soldiers went through many traumatic experiences. Although, looking into the face of death the soldiers were able to have a spirit of mateship to make conditions bearable. They gave their lives for a supreme cause in gallant comradeship with the rest of my soldiers who fought and died with them (Di, 2008). This source explains that the soldiers put their fellow comrades before themselves as mateship prioritised by them. Because of this the word mateship stands out today and inspires many Australians. Therefore, with determination, courage ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Chances are that we all have to deal with some difficult situations at times. When I was in Middle School I struggled to fit in with my classmates. I have always been quiet and just listened to their conversations. They always had so much to talk about and plans to see movies and other plans such as going to parties and other social gatherings. But I was never included or invited. I remember one day I came home and went straight to my room, laid down on my bed and cried. My mom came into my room and asked what was wrong. I told her what happened that made me feel very sad and cry. A girl in my group passed out invitations for her birthdaypartyto everyone but me. My mother told me that if I had received the invitation for the birthday partyI would probably be ignored and they would act like as if I wasn t there. And she also said this is a life lesson that I want you to remember, when you invite someone make sure you include the whole group or invite privately. Then she told her story about not having time to be with friends. She came to Santa Barbara from Mexico when she was seventeen years old with her older sister. A single mother of two daughters, one that was five years old and the other six and a half. And also my mother s youngest sister who was seven years old. Companies always expect that software developers could deliver a product with as many as possible demanded quality. How to allocate those limited resources transparently and effectively during the quality assurance activities and how to balance the risk and quality while software development? Current methods indicate us that we need to mitigate quality risks and emphasize the constraints of limited resources for quality assurance activities simultaneously. Nowadays, it is much more emphasis on getting the feedback of stakeholder about the project quality. In order to solve this problem, Alexander Poth and Ali Sunyaev attempt to establishing a method, which allow stakeholder could participate in the selection of functions and features phase. Either way, the space made Emma think of straightjackets and padded cells. The cold linoleum floor, however, resembled icepacks, soothing her road beaten bare feet. The smooth surface felt like a pillow compared to the gravel and pebble strewn street. Emma found it not only absurd, but painful, considering everything she owned is now gone. She blurted, I must have forgotten to grab those oranges on my way over. Shelly sat up straight, finally looking awake. She leaned forward, and placed her elbows on the desk, her fingers laced together. Miss, I m trying to help you. I ve got plenty of folks here who would be thrilled to perform a cavity search on such a sweet, young thing like yourself, so I suggest answering my questions without attitude. Emma nodded and looked away. Next to the desk, a sign with a tally board hung from a nail. 2 days since last intake. So, any items to declare? she repeated. No. Good. Next question. Similarities Between Christians And Byzantines In this course, we have learned about three medieval worlds that existed in regions bordering the Mediterranean Sea: the Latin Christian ruled world, the Byzantine ruled world, and the Muslim ruled world. Some historians argue that all of these worlds were really part of one larger Mediterranean Cultural world, while others argue that each world was actually very different. I stand on the side of separate but connected in this debate. The extent that these three worlds were similar politically was the constant power struggles, Culturally the connection through trade, and Religiously their prevalent worship of god. Without the southwest, we would undoubtedly lack the spirit, hope, beauty, and truth that this vast region brings to the rest of the United States as a whole. The southwest represents many things, such as journeying, racism, violence, the clashing and cooperation of cultures, and spirituality, as well as primitivism and pastoralism. All of these elements that the Southwest is comprised of is perhaps the reason why the rest of the country feels so captivated by it; why the southwest is considered a place to find yourself or to regenerate ; and why literature and film regarding the Southwest has been and continues to be of the most popular genres. The westernfilm was one of the most popular during the first half of the twentieth century. Audiences far and wide were mesmerized by actors such as John Wayne and Roy Rogers, and their roles as heroes who fought to tame the American frontier. This very concept, taming the frontier , gives way to a larger theme that was prevalent in many western films and literature of the southwest: ubi sunt, or rather where are those who came before us? . Director Sam Peckinpahs The Ballad of Cable Hogueportrays this idea better than any other western film; the concept of ubi sunt is undeniably the film s overarching theme, clearly seen through its components. By connecting stream flow rates model to pollutant loads, the relationship between pollutant transport and water quality can be determined. For this research, models of the fate and transport of the chloride and sulfate in Leon River was constructed. 4.3Conceptual Model The conceptual model for this research is a network model which models the rate of flow of pollutant through a connected network of points in surface water. The water quality monitoring stations represent such points and serve as containers. From analysis of the water quality monitoring measurements of pollutants at each chosen station, it is observed that the concentration levels of pollutants tend to be high where it has not rained for a long time compared to where it rained the previous day or few days ago. This then can be interpreted to mean that the concentration of pollutant in surface water is proportional to the amount of water in the surface water body. Drought condition will concentrate the pollutants, while on the other hand rain events help to dilute the pollutes because of increase of water and also contribute to the flow of the pollutant from one point to the other ... The links in the chain are as follows: Profit and growth are stimulated primarily by customer loyalty. Loyalty is a direct result of customer satisfaction. Satisfaction is largely influenced by the value of services provided to customers. Value is created by satisfied, loyal, and productive employees. • 30. Reading Admissions Essay Since childhood, I have been enamored with reading. My passion for reading was passed from my mother who has always advocated literacy to my siblings and me. During elementary school, my teachers would send report cards with comments admonishing me for reading throughout class. A novel would be hidden behind a textbook or in my lap, and I would sneak a glance whenever possible. When school was dismissed, my nose would be buried inside a book. I would read anything I could get my hands on: my brother s books, my mom s Women s Day magazines, and even the backs of cereal boxes. I would snuggle up in blankets, grab the latest Magic Treehouse book, and plunge into magical worlds for countless hours. Every summer break I would spend my time reading numerous books for my library s Summer Reading Program. My preferences changed as I grew older. By age eleven, I was reading Young Adult Fiction, which challenged me more than children s novels. The Harry Potter, Maximum Ride, and Lord of the Rings series enthralled me, and I waited desperately for each installment to be released. It was also during this time that I read my family s collection of classics. The cultures and time periods in books like Austen s Emma, Lereaux s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Twenty minutes of being punched in the face, kicked in the ribs legs and face, getting body slammed onto the wooden mat, and being choked until submission or loss of consciousness would toughen a human far more than the toll a body takes in any other sport. One reason for this energy is the sheer excitement of a fight. Another reason, and possibly the reason for the excitement, is the complexity of the sport of MMA. I d like to preface my paper with this: It was posted and written by FTP Student Action, a fundamentally conservative student organization. Many of their statements are based on biblical teachings and beliefs. As such, many of the arguments presented are subjective and perceived validity will vary with one s religious standpoint. The primary claim is that homosexual marriage is morally, socially, and biologically wrong. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Given these two statements, it is concluded that a union of two of the same gender would not constitute a real marriage. This would be considered an appeal to tradition fallacy. Saying that something must be done a certain way because it s always been done that way does not mean that it is the true or right thing to do. Next, they argue that homosexual relations are a violation of natural law. It s stated that marriage is a relationship rooted in human nature and thus governed by natural law . This would be engaging in an appeal to nature fallacy: a tactic in which it is proposed that a thing is good because it is natural , or bad because it is unnatural . It is also untrue. Marriage is an not an institution ingrained in natural law it is a societal construct that has no empirical definition other than what society has decided it to be. It is then claimed that non hetero families raise children deprived of either his natural mother or father . They make the analogy that there are evident difficulties faced by the many children who are orphans or are raised by a single parent, a relative, or a foster parent. This could be considered a false analogy due to the fact that in most homosexual families there is not just one parent involved in raising the child. The writer uses these cases to conclude that same sex marriage ignores a child s best interests , ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 43. Traditional Belief Of Interracial Marriage Traditionally, people have believed that when a person marries outside of their race, they do so as a way to escape from their race, culture, or traditional beliefs. In contrast, popular culture theorizes that interracial marriages are motivated not by a desire to leave behind one s heritage, but by love between two people who happen to be of different races. In this paper, I seek to analyze and compare these two perspectives, proposing a theory that combines the two by accounting for a person s upbringing and beliefs when deciding what their motivation may be. I first analyze the traditional belief of interracial marriagein comparison to the popular culture belief and present my theory combining the two. I then analyze the effect of dominant versus nondominant culture on motivations, and use examples from popular culture to look at the effect a person s culture and upbringing can have their motivations for marriage. Lastly, I explain how my perspective will affect the way I live my life. Interracial marriage has traditionally been viewed as a means of expressing a hatred of oneself, of escaping something in one s culture or self that one no longer wants to identify with. Jacki Thompson Rand describes the outcome of this phenomenon in an essay on her experience as the child of an interracial marriage.
