In this paper the submerged flow through radial gates with and without a gate sill was
experimentally investigated. The effect of different gate sill heights on contraction
coefficient, discharge coefficient, submerged jump length, backup water depth, flow
energy dissipation, and velocity distribution with different hydraulic parameters were
analyzed and graphically presented. A combination of dimensional and regression
analysis tools was employed to develop reliable formulas for estimating the studied
parameters. This paper concluded the negative influence of sills under submerged
radial gates and justified the local scour phenomena occurred immediately
downstream the stilling basin of some existing submerged radial gates with a gate sill
in Egypt.

X ray powder diffraction patterns of good quality were obtained for the samples
using CuKО± radiation of wavelength 1.5406A0 at room temperature. The obtained
X ray diffraction patterns confirmed the formation of a single phase cubic spinel
structure for the ferrite samples with a crystallite size ranging from 25 34nm as
reported earlier [16]. The X ray diffractionpatterns were fitted using a Rietveld
refinement procedure as shown in Fig 2 [17,18]. The fitted patterns were observed
for eight peaks indexed by miller indices (220), (311), (222), (400), (422), (511)
and (440), evident from the normal XRD patterns as reported earlier [16]. From
the Fig 2 it is observed that sharpness in the peak is increased with an observed
decrease in the width of the peak, which is the indication of the increase in particle
size of the ferrite with the increase in Indium content. From the Fig 2 it is evident
that observed patterns were exactly coinciding with the calculated values and the
difference is very negligible. In comparison with the normal XRD patterns Rietveld
patterns have shown some extra peaks of (331), (531), (422), (620), (533) and (622)

differing constructs. Each speaker seeks to unleash his venomous emotions at a
woman who has scorned him, by humiliating her through complicated revenge
fantasies and savage metaphors. Through this invective, he hopes to convince us of

The eloquent My Lute, Awake! is ostensibly addressed to the speakers lute and to his
lover, but the story that he tells of her cruel rejection, and his predictions of her
eventual lonely decrepitude, are clearly meant for our ears, and he is notably
aware that we are listening. Although he refers to his lover as thee, he
acknowledges early on that she cannot or will not hear him: As to be heard where
ear is none, / As lead to grave in marble stone / My song may pierce her heart as
soon. In Farewell, False Love, Raleigh does not use the second person, and his
motive is obviously to characterize his faithless love before his public. His
metaphors are as creative as they are damning, and the verse itself is highly
structured: the first stanza deals with his lover s dishonesty, the second with her
appearance of sweetness which masks sin ( A poisoned serpent covered all with
flowers. . . A gilded hook that holds a poisoned bait ), and so forth. This is no
spontaneous outpouring of emotion: it s more like a finely tuned, premeditated

Raleigh and Wyatt both proclaim stoicism in the face of rejection, contending that
they no longer care for their lovers after having been betrayed and rebuffed. Raleigh
concludes his poem with Dead is the root whence all these fancies grew. Wyatt asks

Why I Want A Wife
Writing is a form of art, and like a painting two people are able to look at the
painting and give different interpretations of what they see, and the same is goes for
writing. The author paints the reader a picture with words they use. some artist are
better than others in the same way that some writers are better at expressing
themselves than others. An example of an author that is able to paint a picture into
the reader s mind is Judy Brady in her writing Why I Wanta Wife. She is able to
captivate the reader into her writing by sparking an interest in what she has to say
next. However, looking into her writing, the reader is easily able to see the flaws in
her words. She over uses repetition, transitions points poorly, is over stereotypical,
makes illogical claims, and is overly insensitive.
It is often said in order for a person to retain information they need to read the given
information at least three times. In Why I Want a Wife Brady definitely wants the
reader to remember her purpose, because she repeats the phrase I want a wife
twenty six times her short two page essay. Too much repetition can create a
ludicrous effect (Grammar). From the Title the reader already knows that she
wants a wife and does not need to be told another sixteen times. The purpose for
repeating may have been for added emphasis, but this repetition was interpreted as
more of poor word choice. She may have been more persuasive if she used different
ways to express the same idea

the choice to work are two very different things. With Toads it is similar, as we see
the perspective of, what looks like, a working class man, we are presented the
images of folk living on wit . It still seems that the persona of the poem sees work

assigned reading, Teaching Receptive Language Skills and Other Nonverbal
Operants, presented how Skinner describes receptive language as listener skills and
doesn t focus at all on developing imitation and matching skills since he doesn t
consider them verbal behavior. However, this does not mean they are not important.
In current verbal behavior (VB) programs, teaching children to respond to these
nonverbal operants is important and occurs early in the programming. The beauty of
the receptive skills is that they do not require a child to speak and many children find
them easy to comply with. Teaching these skills can often turn the tide away from
non compliance and frustration to learning. In addition, Dr. Mark Sundberg has
replaced the term receptive skills with the term listener skills. In the same way that
he thought the word expressive was too vague to describe manding, tacting,
intraverbals, and echoic, he believed that developing listener skills was a better way
to describe the process of assessing and developing this skill. Receptive language or
listener skills include being able to respond to another person s direction. Even
before a typical child can speak, he will be able to follow instructions to get a tissue,
find the remote control, or point to mommy. Children with autism usually do not
have strong listener skills when they are diagnosed since these skills are

Readers
Why poor children are more likely to become poor readers: the early years by

discuss low socio economic disadvantage and poor early literacy. Children from
disadvantaged families are less likely to have experiences that encourage the
development of fundamental skills for readingacquisition, specifically phonological
awareness, vocabulary and oral language. The relationship between socio economic
disadvantage and poor reading ability is one of the most enduring problems in
education. Socio economic disadvantage is a relative concept referring to low socio
economic status, which is usually deп¬Ѓned by income, occupation, education, or

When I think of poor children, I think of kids living in poverty having very limited
amount of food, clothes, education. The early year describes children before pre

Sports Media Changing the Sports Industry
When looking back at historical sporting moments, the impact ESPN has made on
sports, sports media and the sports industry as a whole can t be overlooked. On
September 7th 1979 ESPN launched their flagship show, SportsCenter. This moment
in sports media history was a game changer for the way fans consume sports. It is
amazing that back in 1979, the concept of watching highlights and footage of games
when they were happening or just completed was unfathomable for most people. The
moment SportsCenter aired, sports marketingand media was altered to a 24/7
industry that has continued to grow to its current place as a trend leader in society.
One sporting moment in particular for myself, was the launch of ESPN360 back in
2002. This provided fans the first broadband network that they could catch live
streams or recaps of different events from mainstream (NCAA tournament) and
obscure (Bassmaster Elite). Change for the fans is seen with so many media
platforms popping up that impact the fan experience from consumer to consumer.
A historical sporting moment involving an athlete, was in the 1970 s when Coke
marketed their product with Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Mean Joe Green.
These advertisements defined a sports industry as being accessible to the public and
really resonated with consumers of both the beverage industry as well as the sports
