Computational Fluid Dynamics Paper
B) Provide the main aim of the article, as concisely and clearly as possible.
Prove, through the use of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations that the
front wing is a vital component because it is where air first meets the car. It
improves aerodynamic performance more than other add on devices like roof spoiler,
nose wing and bargeboard.
C) Provide at least one diagram that best illustrates the mathematical model.
D) Give the main equations (1 3 equations) at a level of your understanding of the
system.
The two main equations used in the article are the Lift and Drag coefficients shown
below:

The output parameters were the lift and drag co efficients.
G) Explain how the model (diagram, parameters, equations) relates to the purpose of
the article. (How was the model used to achieve the purpose ?)
Both output parameters (lift and drag co efficients) helped determine the
effectiveness of the front wing when compared to the output parameters of the other
add on devices. Through the optimization of the body area parameter (more
specifically the area of the front wings end plates) of both equations their respective
co efficients were altered significantly. When the end plates area was increased, the
overall lift coefficient increased while the drag coeffiecent decreased drastically. This
helped prove that the front wing is a vital component to a formula one car.
H) Explain the mathematical simulation performed.
In CFD simulation, it is easier to optimize and change certain features in the design
rather than changing the shape of prototype in the wing tunnel tests. This is a
significant advantage as it leads to a reduction in time. Also, CFD can simulate and
optimize sub components, which are affected by the flow of air at high

Nonetheless, Pvfs2 enhances results on account of the usage of diverse I/O

is to acquire better execution with the incorporation of Pvfs2, in light of the fact
that it diminishes the information access idleness, lessening system movement
and the information is dispersed crosswise over diverse I/O servers. This permit
information be conveyed as opposed to be incorporated, counteracting complete
loss of information. Likewise in the future we may utilize usage made by

Positive youth development (PYD) and resilience science differ in importance and
focus but share many roots, assumptions, concepts, and goals. Both structures are
grounded in developmental systems theory; both are focused on a positive adaptation
for youth, and both a common goal of promoting positive development. Yet there also
are differences (Masten, 2014).Resilience from a PYD standpoint can be defined as a
dynamic attribute referencing the adaptive and mutually influential relation of an
individual adolescent and that person s context (Masten, 2014, p1018). This meaning
that resilience is not in the person or the situation, but in their connection and
relationship to each other. Both PYD and resilience have deep roots in developmental
theory and they... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Family stress theory is a developmental theory borrowed from family science which
explores why some family systems adapt and even grow and thrive when faced with
situational stressors or transitional events, while other family units deteriorate and
disintegrate under similar circumstances (Family Stress Theory, PPT). Murray was
able to handle the stressors in her life because she had the resilience toward her
ACEs (2010). Other youth may grow through these stressors because their family
could become closer or the child has a trusted adult that can help them get through
the stressors that they may face in their family. Some children however are not able
to thrive because of the stressors and the family will weaken, unable to change, and
a crisis will occur in the family making the family not capable of returning stability.
This goes along with the theme of resilience because some families and youth can be
resilient toward their family stressors, while others do not know how to be resilient
and the youth and family become
Why Is Walt Whitman Considered A Transcendentalism
The elegy When lilacs last in the dooryard bloom d, written by Walt Whitman in
1865, extraordinarily emphasizes on the unexpected loss of love, succinctly portrayed
through the combination of three parts of free verse poems containing constant
comparison between transcendentalism and realism that sums up to 216 lines.
Abraham Lincoln, assassinated in 1865, is the man whom Whitman always talks
about, despite never been mentioned by name. The first section, stanza 1 4, conveys
his massive depression and ruthless despair through the metaphorical lilacs. The
second, stanza 5 9, depicts an emotional dramatization when the coffin is in progress
to be buried. The third, stanza 10 13, indicates the tributes and the actions that
Whitman is willing to do the best he could for the dead Lincoln. Stanza 14 16 sums
up the motif and symbolisms to develop the ideology of reconciliation of the eternal
loss. Whitman illuminates his reconciliation on the feeling of great loss through his

The focuses are on basic beliefs such as the most simple, natural, and straightforward
beliefs that could guide human behavior and foster a health .(http:/

Emerson, an American essayist and also one of the developers of the
Transcendentalism, influenced Whitman to learn to trust his own experience.
Emerson also praises Whitman that every word selection Whitman chooses are all
carefully chosen. Emerson says If you cut his words, they will bleed . (Proust
Neuro Science book). This metaphor indicates how important people think toward
Whitman s words. Whitman later discovers that we do not have the body, we are a
body . This implies that people do not just move their body, but people hold the
energy to move their body. The whole message is about being alive and
Disrupted Circadian Rhythms
Hypothesis: Disrupted circadian rhythms has negative effect on sustained
attention. My Initial Hypothesis In life, we all encounter those night where we
can t seem to get to sleep. This can be due to insomnia or having a lot of things to
do and little time to do them. During college and afterwards people will begin to
deal with a lack of sleep more and more as they gain more responsibilities. I ve
always heard it s not good to go without sleep and I agree with this thought. This
was confirmed when we had a lecture on consciousness. We discussed how our sleep
and wake schedule, biological clocks, bodily functions, etc., are controlled by
circadian rhythms (Truelove, 2017). When we ignore circadian rhythms, it leaves us
open to an increased... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It also showed me that it can become quite dangerous even life threatening. I now
see its extremely important to let your body get rest so the circadian rhythms can
happen as they should. The body doesn t react positively to sleep deprivations. As
stated earlier circadian rhythms assist with many other bodily functions such as
body temperature. Not allowing these functions to reboot properly have a negative
effect on the body. Personally, I love getting a good night rest and the articles I ve
found have only deepened my respect for the art of sleeping. The benefits far out
way any other things that could come from not allowing yourself to rest. The
effect of disturbing circadian rhythms are quite worry some to me. Being a college
student I feel the pressure to get things done on time and I don t get to sleep as
much as I should. I can see how it affects me and I worry for those who have even
more going on than I do. I think we need to make sleep a priority just like we make
eating. In class Truelove told us that you can die from staying up for and extended
amount of time. Which, can also happen if you go a long time without eating. It s
very important for us to take care of bodies especially while were young so we will
be in better shape as we
The Most Important Source Of Power Within Global Politics
Gabriel Bernarde (837256) International Politics (INTS10001)
Assignment 2
Are material forces or ideas the most important source of power in global politics?
Consider this question through comparison of Realism with either Constructivist or
Poststructuralist approaches to global politics.
Power that Matters: A constructivist and realist approach to distinguishing material
power as dominant in international relations
Hans Morganthau s realist approach to international politics was centred around the
stuggle for power, to the extent that, if the study of international politics were not
focused on the global power structure, we would instead be studying international
law and justice, or international economics (Morgenthau, 1985). Simply put, Politics
defined as power is important and merits study in its own rights (Barkin, 2003, p.
327). The concept of realism rose from the need to study international politics as they
are, not as we feel they should be (Barkin, 2003, p. 327), that is, as put by
Morgenthau, through an empirical and pragmatic approach (Morgenthau, 1985, p. 3).
As will discussed in this essay, we have seen throughout history to current times,
actors in international politics behaving in such a way to maximise their self interest
through the harvest of material power. Constructivism provides another lens in which
power in the shape of ideas, culture, ideology or other socially constructed factors,
can be realised through political discourse (Hopf, 1998).

  • 4. Resilience Vs Psy Positive youth development (PYD) and resilience science differ in importance and focus but share many roots, assumptions, concepts, and goals. Both structures are grounded in developmental systems theory; both are focused on a positive adaptation for youth, and both a common goal of promoting positive development. Yet there also are differences (Masten, 2014).Resilience from a PYD standpoint can be defined as a dynamic attribute referencing the adaptive and mutually influential relation of an individual adolescent and that person s context (Masten, 2014, p1018). This meaning that resilience is not in the person or the situation, but in their connection and relationship to each other. Both PYD and resilience have deep roots in developmental theory and they... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Family stress theory is a developmental theory borrowed from family science which explores why some family systems adapt and even grow and thrive when faced with situational stressors or transitional events, while other family units deteriorate and disintegrate under similar circumstances (Family Stress Theory, PPT). Murray was able to handle the stressors in her life because she had the resilience toward her ACEs (2010). Other youth may grow through these stressors because their family could become closer or the child has a trusted adult that can help them get through the stressors that they may face in their family. Some children however are not able to thrive because of the stressors and the family will weaken, unable to change, and a crisis will occur in the family making the family not capable of returning stability. This goes along with the theme of resilience because some families and youth can be resilient toward their family stressors, while others do not know how to be resilient and the youth and family become
  • 5. Why Is Walt Whitman Considered A Transcendentalism The elegy When lilacs last in the dooryard bloom d, written by Walt Whitman in 1865, extraordinarily emphasizes on the unexpected loss of love, succinctly portrayed through the combination of three parts of free verse poems containing constant comparison between transcendentalism and realism that sums up to 216 lines. Abraham Lincoln, assassinated in 1865, is the man whom Whitman always talks about, despite never been mentioned by name. The first section, stanza 1 4, conveys his massive depression and ruthless despair through the metaphorical lilacs. The second, stanza 5 9, depicts an emotional dramatization when the coffin is in progress to be buried. The third, stanza 10 13, indicates the tributes and the actions that Whitman is willing to do the best he could for the dead Lincoln. Stanza 14 16 sums up the motif and symbolisms to develop the ideology of reconciliation of the eternal loss. Whitman illuminates his reconciliation on the feeling of great loss through his personal... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Emerson also praises Whitman that every word selection Whitman chooses are all carefully chosen. Emerson says If you cut his words, they will bleed . (Proust Neuro Science book). This metaphor indicates how important people think toward Whitman s words. Whitman later discovers that we do not have the body, we are a body . This implies that people do not just move their body, but people hold the energy to move their body. The whole message is about being alive and
  • 6. Disrupted Circadian Rhythms Hypothesis: Disrupted circadian rhythms has negative effect on sustained attention. My Initial Hypothesis In life, we all encounter those night where we can t seem to get to sleep. This can be due to insomnia or having a lot of things to do and little time to do them. During college and afterwards people will begin to deal with a lack of sleep more and more as they gain more responsibilities. I ve always heard it s not good to go without sleep and I agree with this thought. This was confirmed when we had a lecture on consciousness. We discussed how our sleep and wake schedule, biological clocks, bodily functions, etc., are controlled by circadian rhythms (Truelove, 2017). When we ignore circadian rhythms, it leaves us open to an increased... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It also showed me that it can become quite dangerous even life threatening. I now see its extremely important to let your body get rest so the circadian rhythms can happen as they should. The body doesn t react positively to sleep deprivations. As stated earlier circadian rhythms assist with many other bodily functions such as body temperature. Not allowing these functions to reboot properly have a negative effect on the body. Personally, I love getting a good night rest and the articles I ve found have only deepened my respect for the art of sleeping. The benefits far out way any other things that could come from not allowing yourself to rest. The effect of disturbing circadian rhythms are quite worry some to me. Being a college student I feel the pressure to get things done on time and I don t get to sleep as much as I should. I can see how it affects me and I worry for those who have even more going on than I do. I think we need to make sleep a priority just like we make eating. In class Truelove told us that you can die from staying up for and extended amount of time. Which, can also happen if you go a long time without eating. It s very important for us to take care of bodies especially while were young so we will be in better shape as we
  • 7. The Most Important Source Of Power Within Global Politics Gabriel Bernarde (837256) International Politics (INTS10001) Assignment 2 Are material forces or ideas the most important source of power in global politics? Consider this question through comparison of Realism with either Constructivist or Poststructuralist approaches to global politics. Power that Matters: A constructivist and realist approach to distinguishing material power as dominant in international relations Hans Morganthau s realist approach to international politics was centred around the stuggle for power, to the extent that, if the study of international politics were not focused on the global power structure, we would instead be studying international law and justice, or international economics (Morgenthau, 1985). Simply put, Politics defined as power is important and merits study in its own rights (Barkin, 2003, p. 327). The concept of realism rose from the need to study international politics as they are, not as we feel they should be (Barkin, 2003, p. 327), that is, as put by Morgenthau, through an empirical and pragmatic approach (Morgenthau, 1985, p. 3). As will discussed in this essay, we have seen throughout history to current times, actors in international politics behaving in such a way to maximise their self interest through the harvest of material power. Constructivism provides another lens in which power in the shape of ideas, culture, ideology or other socially constructed factors, can be realised through political discourse (Hopf, 1998).
