The Is A Norton Antivirus Program For Multiple Handheld...
I chose this advertisement because of the whole family scene and also because it contains no macho
man stuff. It is from a Wired magazine September 2014 issue on page 5. What they are attempting to
make you buy is a Norton Antivirus program for multiple handheld systems to protect transmitted
information. The main message is to use the software to keep connected with family safely. The
dominant view is of the supposed father and his son sharing a cherished moment. The woman figure
or mother is not being heard in this advertisement as it is shown from the male role model s
perspective. The background displays either a relaxing moment or an adventure that could easily be
replaced with an amusement park scene or any other event. The wording communicates the
empowerment of protecting what you care about. The font displays bright yellow for the product
resemblance as well as pretty sharp and standard lettering in a white format where nothing is too
decorated. This image sort of displays a father son moment, either a busy family or possibly a
separated couple sharing a child. The father seems a little grungy so I am just implying the separation.
This even could be an uncle with his nephew or niece. The wording Boldly Go with the photo
describes having an adventure and enjoying life with family without worry about personal information
being lost or stolen. The emotional aspect displays kinship and being carefree because there are so
many things in the world to worry about,

An Emerging Class Of Non Relational Database Management...
NOSQL is an emerging class of non relational database, used to handle Big Data, it stands for Not
Only SQL which solve the problem of processing unstructured data, considering that this non
relational database does not use a schema, and does not relay on the table/key model used in RDBMSs
(Relational DataBase Management System).
NOSQL have the following characteristic:
Scalability: the competence to store data across multiple data stores simultaneously, moreover enlarge
and decrease the size of data stores in response to the need. All these operations must be invisible to
the end users.
Data and Query model: a specific framework are used in SQL to store data, in addition data are access
intelligently with a requisite set of query APIs.
Interface diversity: a variant connection mechanism is offered for programmers and data base
managers; it also supports RESTfull APIs.
Persistence design: a very fast memory system of the servers is used to keep the entire database.
Eventual consistency: Basically Available Soft state and Eventual Consistency known as BASE is the
used mechanism to ensure the consistency of data, rather than Atomicity, consistency of Isolation,
Durability ACID used in RDBMS.
The main technology under NoSQL are: Key Value Pair Store, Document Oriented Databases, and
Graph databases.
a) Key Value Pair Store:
KVP is the simplest od NoSQL databases, uses to store huge amount of data, it employs the Key Value
Pair model.

Consequences of Passion Exposed in The Romance of Tristan...
Consequences of Passion Exposed in The Romance of Tristan and Iseult
The story of Tristan and Iseult celebrates the triumph of adultery. When looking vaguely at this
romance, readers may think the potion of love that they both drink is the one that makes them to
commit adultery. However, this is only a representation of the power of passion and lust Tristan and
Iseult have for each other.
To better understand this love story, one must realize that Tristan is a marshal hero who volunteers to
take a battle against the King of Ireland, in order to redeem the people and the monarch of King Mark.
It would therefore, be suitable to say that King Mark has given his nephew the trust to accomplish the
mammoth exercise. In Ireland, Tristan ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

This is where the story of Tristan and Iseult takes a twist because the reader knows enough that
Tristan, if given the chance, would like to have Iseult for himself. It is fascinating therefore, when
Iseult s mother entrusts Tristan with the potion of love that should only be shared between King Mark
and Iseult. By this time, Tristan and Iseult have developed passion in each other, and the potion they
would drink only enhances the chemistry that is already existent. To not drink the potion, which
Tristan knows would cause Iseult to love him even more, is attempting to remain dishonest to his true
self. Tristan is not just an ordinary man; he is a war hero seducing the would be queen of Cornwall.
Because of this predicament, Iseult as the wife to the king is to engage in adulterous affair with Tristan
to reinforce the courtly love value, while Tristan gains access to Iseult through chivalrious prowess.
The potion of wine therefore, serves as a big temptation for both, and the Christian ideal that is forced
into the situation by the hermit stands as an experiment.
How then can all these three values be reconciled in this story? I think it is not only the flaw displayed
by medieval people like Tristan to succumb to the temptation of fulfilling sexual desires. The concept
of eat, drink and be merry comes into play in this story and quite evidently, even in our contemporary
society, we have not

Superwoman And Lady
Women have had to deal with oppression for centuries. Not being able to speak freely or having the
same privileges as men can take a toll. Even in this day and age, women still face these issues, and for
years, female poets and music artists have used their creativity to express the emotions they keep
bottled up. The writer of the poem Lady, Lady , Anne Spencer, was alive during a time where women
did not have the social status that they possess today. She was an African American poet, and
important figure, during the Harlem Renaissance. Spencer s poems focused mostly on equality, nature,
and women. Both the poem, Lady, Lady and the song Superwoman by Alicia Keys, an African
American song writer, imply resiliency and strength in women who have had to deal with pressures
from the world around them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The narrator speaks of the subject of the poem as having bourne so long the yoke of men. This Lady ,
whom the narrator is referring to, is implied to have had to deal with overwhelmingly harsh men who
have no regard for women s rights. The poet s attitude towards the woman in the poem seems to be
sympathetic because the woman lived a lifetime of unequal treatment and false perceptions because of
her gender, a similar situation for the majority of women in that time. In the song Superwoman , Alicia
Keys writes that she hangs [her] head in sorrow [at the] state of humanity. What the songwriter means
by this is that she is saddened by the situations that women are put through and her lyrics are clearly
more literal regarding her position on the issue of gender equality. The state of humanity is the issue
not being dealt with appropriately, and that society has not changed much concerning the social
superiority of men over women. Although circumstances of the characters in the song and poem are
different, they are both fed up with a male dominated

The great Gatsby Task
Rationale
With my written task I would like to explore one of the parts of the book of which the narrator does
not talk about. Those who will be mentioned in this gap will be two of the main characters: Jordan
Baker and Jay Gatsby.
Being a fill the gap kind of writing piece the text type is gonna be a short story.
The reason why I chose to fill this gap is due the empty feeling who got triggered in me making me
feel incomplete and unfulfilled while reading the chapter.
Even though the writer does explain what happened while Jordan talked with Gatsby, I felt compelled
to write something about it anyway.
Intended for people like me, my writing aims to ordinary readers, such as students or anyone who

The Battle Of The Uss Maine
On April 19th, 1898, the United States declared war on Spain. Over the next three months the United
States, along with Cuban Rebels waged war against the Spanish forces in hopes of returning the
Cuban lands back to its people. President McKinley who was pressured into war by yellow press, sent
American forces into battle which ultimately led to the birth of a western hemispheric super power,
the United States. The sinking of the USS Maine, the use of yellow press journalism, and the national
uproar and motivation is what drove the Americans to victory. Valeriano Weyler, the Spanish General
in Cuba, started a campaign called Subjugation or Death. This bloody campaign was Spain s attempt
to force the local people into slavery. Filled with concentration camps, burning villages and murdering
Cubans, this campaign took the lives of over 200,000 Cuban people. Since Spain was aware that the
US had sympathy towards the Cuban rebels this endangered the lives of American citizens living
there. The USS Maine was built in 1888 and was seen as advanced American battleship modeled after
advanced European designs. President McKinley while keeping a close eye on the events unfolding in
his neighboring country, sent the USS Maine to the island of Key West, only 90 miles from Havana,
Cuba. The USS Maine was sent in anticipation of an evacuation of American s from Cuba should
things get worse. In January of 1898 rioting broke out in Cuba which led to the dispatch of the USS
Maine. Spain

Napster amp; MP3: Redefining The Music Industry
Introduction
Napster was the first, very innovative music technology application that allowed users to download
MP3 from the internet and other peers for free, or at a cost. Napster strongly adapted the word sharing
and put it their own terms to avoid any copyright infringement but it ended badly on their part. This
disruptive technology was leading the market and had over 60 million users by 2001. Although very
similar technologies were soon after developed, Napster was still on top and lead the market. Many
users knew exactly what they wanted but getting it seemed to be the difficult part once Napster and the

In terms of the artists and musicians, I believe that although they started out as losers, in the end, they
ended up winning because for already discovered, well known singers, they are getting the royalties
they are owed and for new, up and coming artists, they are getting their name out there in a much less
expensive way than before and still making some sort of money to support their dream. The agents
and label companies will become winners as well through the transformations. The larger companies
will most likely lose some strength and then gain back once they begin to find new artists and those
artists begin to take off. The risk/reward of the digital market here will yield much more reward and
their financial strength from the start will help them be a winner here. I feel the biggest loser in
throughout the entire industry transformation is the packaging and CD production industry. Because
CDs are no longer at an all time high, they will no longer be needed. There is very little need for this
and it has almost become a niche market, barely used for music anymore, unless someone is burning
their own music onto a CD. Albums being created and sold solely onto a CD has decreased
substantially and within the next few years could become something in the past. This is the biggest
loser by far through the music industry transformation. Although customers might think they are

Developing a Christian Worldview of Spiritual Formation...
Developing a Christian Worldview of Spiritual Formation and Growth
Liberty University
Abstract
This paper looks at how spiritual formation and growth can develop through a person s lifetime. The
goal is to show how modern day human development theories relate to Christlike living. Erikson s
developmental theory and Kohlberg s moral development theory both give a guide to maturity in a
secular worldview. By looking at Jesus Sermon on the Mount, we can see God s directions to living a
Christlike life in a Christian worldview. It s also important to look at the influence of the Holy Spirit
in developing a person s spiritual life. By relating a worldly view of personal development with god s
guidance through scripture and the Holy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
stagnation is characterized by achieving meaningful work and possible a family (Berger). Finally,
Berger explains later adulthood, integrity vs. despair focuses on older adults trying to make sense out
of their lives.
Looking at these stages through a Christian worldview, these stages take on a different spiritually
relevant developmental outcome. Tate amp; Parker (2007) explain trust vs. mistrust now can be
characterized by the born again gaining trust in the goodness of God. Autonomy vs. shame and doubt
now focuses on one s ability to build self control and the willpower to resist evil (Tate amp; Parker).
The Christian worldview of the play stage can be characterized by an individual s initiative to begin
spiritual disciplines such as prayer, Biblical studying, and listening for God s voice in their life (Tate
amp; Parker). The industry vs. inferiority stage now focuses on an individual s dedication to service
within the Kingdom (Tate amp; Parker). In the identity vs. identity confusion stage, a Christian
worldview will focus on an individual s role in the body of Christ (Tate amp; Parker). Tate and Parker
describe the spiritual young adult stage as being characterized by developing a close and intimate
relationship with Christ. Tate and Parker admit the final two spiritual stages, middle adulthood and
later adulthood, are characterized by an individual reaching spiritual adulthood and become spiritual
authorities that begin mentoring those individuals

Castle Clash Research Paper
Castle Clash is an astounding game full of strategy and competition. Unlike the dim, rival game, Clash
of Clans, Castle Clash is based on heroes. Heroes are a necessity in this game. You won t get far
without them. Heroes in Castle Clash are separated into three groups; ordinary, elite, and legendary.
Ordinary heroes are the basic type of heroes, the easiest to acquire. The next step up is elite heroes.
Elite heroes are not yet the superlative, but they are far more ameliorating than ordinaries. They are
easily attained, but they re a slight trickier. Legendary heroes are the most problematical to obtain.
Ordinary heroes have the lowest stats, but are reasonably priced. If you have just started the game,
they will be great for you. There are eight ordinary heroes that consist of Angel, Marauder, Hill Giant,
Engineer, Frost Witch, Dryad, and Marksman. In order to get a specific hero you have to purchase
them with shards. You can also get them by rolling with Honor Badges or gems, but there is a random
choice of what hero you get. Elite heroes have mediocre stats and are slightly more prefered than

La Manche Power And Colonialism
La Malinche, Power and Colonialism
The Mexican Mother, known as Malinche was a creator. Through her words, she created a new land
free from the Aztecs and human sacrifice. Malinche s ability to translate the native languages of
Mexico to the Spanish invaders gave Malinche the power to stop the much unnecessary bloodshed.
Malinche was a slave, she had no power other than her ability to translate for the Spaniards.Yet, her
name still holds controversy in the Mexican community. La Malinche is acclaimed to be the harlot of
Conquistador Hernan Cortez, her name is a curse among her people. Malinche is blamed for the
suffering of the natives and is believed to be a complacent whore.
The history of Malinche was obscured by fiction and then sold to the Native population of Mexico.
The Spanish wanted the natives to believe that Malinche was the antagonist so they could deflect the
blame from themselves. This increased tensions in the native communities and helped the Spanish
achieve greater success during the colonization of Mexico. It is Ironic that the Mexican people curse
Malinche because they are feeding into the very propaganda that belittles their original native
ancestry. The Spanish believed that the natives were stupid, their traditions were savage and held no
place in their new world. The Spanish planted these seeds of guilt in regards to Malinche, attempting
to falsify history through literature and culture. Instead of embracing Malinches contributions, her
children, the Mexicans curse her name and defy their native origins. The Spanish then achieve the
satisfaction of taking all the credibility for her actions against the Aztecs. By feeding the natives false
information about their Mother, the Spanish are able to control the perception of the uneducated.
These fictions are apparent in the articles that we have read. The seeds of hatred that the Spanish have
sown, appear in the form of prejudice, racism, and sexism.
. By comparing the native mother to a harlot, the Spaniards successfully planted the seeds of shame
into every Mexican. The very same seeds Octavio Paz claims to have been planted by La Malinche
herself. These historical fallacies have been embedded into Spanish literature to promote the

We are all lawbreakers, most of us just do not realize it yet. In Frank Trippets excerpt A Red Light for

Analysis Of Silence Of The Lambs
ART 105: Film as Art
Critique One
Silence of the Lambs: Eating Other Movies with Fava Beans and a Nice Chianti
Silence of the Lambs is viewed as one of the greatest horror thriller films, as it has won Academy
Awards in all the top five categories: Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, and
Adapted Screenplay. Some of the people in our ART 105 class might not even want to see this movie
due to its realism of such a dark and painful story, as well as some of the graphic material shown. This
movie, however, is one of the best horror films of the century, in my humble opinion. I enjoy this
movie thoroughly and often watch it in my spare time, so I have plenty of opinions on every aspect of
this movie.
During this entire movie, all the main characters, to me, were all very interesting, as the two(ish)
antagonists are, to this day, traumatizing those who see them without having seen the movie. Clarice
Starling (Jodie Foster), the protagonist, is a very hard worker who is blunt and concerned more about
education and catching a killer, as she rejects advances by both Dr. Chilton (Anthony Heald), the
asylum owner, and an entomologist named Pilcher (Paul Lazar) , who ask about her personal life. She
is often enthralled with catching Buffalo Bill (Ted Levine) that even in one of the first scenes, she
already has her sights on him. She soon dedicates every spare moment trying to dig deeper, to find the
truth and to save lives. Also, Hannibal Lector (Anthony

Taxing Dilemma Case Study
Introduction
The taxing dilemma case study is the case that shows two different considerations of two assistants of
the deputy director of the state s budget and planning, Jill Scot, about an idea of eliminating personal
income tax in the state (Fenske, n.d.).
Background
Jill Scott is the deputy director of one of the states, and she worked in the public sector for six years.
One day, she was called in the office of the director to make a study about the idea of eliminating
personal income tax in the state. She had no idea of what to do even if her boss called this activity a
significant work.
Scott had no idea about what to do. As a result, she directly called the meeting with her two assistants
to conduct a study about what could be the result of the idea if implemented. She believed her staff
would offer valuable alternatives so waited to see what their views would be. Surprisingly, the two
assistants brought two different ideas. Robert Gomez, one of Scott s assistants argued with the idea of
removing personal income tax, whereas Drishti Ghosh opposed this idea.
To support the idea, Robert showed that nine states already adopted the policy, and he showed various
considerations to support his idea. He mentioned that removing the personal income tax would allow
agencies be more efficient, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A deep study should be done before implanting this policy to see if personal income tax has the
negative effect on people. Then if it is found to be a problem, several measures should be taken into
account including reducing the rate of paying the personal income tax. I would recommend both
Robert and Drishti to explore more about this topic, especially from the political perspective. In other
words, I am with the solution given by the deputy director Jill Scot concerning making a deeper
analysis on the political implications of removing personal income

Culture forms as sense of who we are in the larger community in which we exist among. This
connection shapes the rules we follow to exist to peacefully live with one another. The culture we

it. The reason why this is true: is that I am very picky and eating is challenging for me.
This taboo can affect me socially. Our society in the United States, places

A Human-Friendly Method of Treating Acid Mine Drainage
The worldwide problem of acid mine drainage causes harm to waterways, plants, animals, and even
humans. Acid mine drainage is water with a high acidity content that originates from water coming in
contact with highly acidic bearing materials in rocks. Those rocks are common in mining regions,
which is why acid mine drainage is such a problem for those locations, including the coal mining
region of Northeastern Pennsylvania. The water affected by acid mine drainage becomes yellow or
orange in color due to the presence of dissolved iron in the oxygen rich water and the water reeks of
sulfur. The water from acid mine drainage has a high pH level and can be dangerous if it comes in
contact with living organisms. Acid mine drainage occurs gradually, with some scientists and
governmental officials predicting some cases of acid mine drainage may be around for as long as a
thousand years (Earthworks Action). Acid mine drainage is a monetary burden as well as an
environmental one. The materials used in the common chemical treatment processes for acid mine
drainage are very costly, with materials costing nearly $1,000 per gallon. Six primary chemicals are
used to treat acid mine drainage, and they are: calcium carbonate, calcium hydroxide, calcium oxide,
sodium carbonate, sodium hydroxide (in solid, 20% liquid and 50% liquid forms), and anhydrous
ammonia (Skousen, Hilton and Faulkner, Overview of Acid Mine Drainage Treatment with
Chemicals). All of these chemicals can be efficient in

Kurt Vonnegut s Galapagos was written one million years ahead of the year 1986 AD. In this book,
Vonnegut argues that the ultimate effect of humanity s sociological problems with technology is that

The Role of Hbcus in American Society
For almost two hundred years, Historically Black Colleges and Universities or HBCUs have played a
pivotal role in the education of African American people, and negro people internationally. These
schools have provided the majority of black college graduates at the Graduate and Post Graduate
level; schools such as Hampton University, Morehouse University, Spellman University and Howard
University are four universities at the forefront of the advanced education of blacks. For sometime
there has been a discussion on whether or not these institutes should remain in existence or if they are
just another form of racism. There were also concerning the quality of education provided at these
institutions. In my opinion, from the evidence provided ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I also believe that HBCUs are a better alternative to affirmative action. These institutions have the
capacity to attract and motivate many young black people, to advance their education. By seeing
people just like them, with similar backgrounds and similar interest making great achievements, it
provides those young black people with a pride and a sense of empowerment. This is most effective in
the poorer neighborhoods where morale is low. It is true that HBCUs enroll students with the lowest
test scores in American education; according to Elias Blake Jr. in the article from Emerge, Black
colleges are still enrolling a majority of the most vulnerable students that have the lowest income and
the lowest test scores (par. 7). Studies show that in many disadvantaged communities, the quality of
education is not up to par with the quality in the wealthier communities. Therefore, those in these
poorer communities are at a disadvantage. But from the statistics on the amount on the amount of
successful African Americans who graduate from these historically black institutions, something right
must be occurring. I believe that these HBCUs are an ideal environment for these students as they
place these under achieving students in an environment which they are comfortable, and allows them
the ability to develop their skills. In the end, most of

Difference Between The Appellate Process And Trial Process
1. The appellate process and appeals differs from the trial process and trials in the following ways:
Trial court is the first court where case is tried. (pg. 353 359)
Appellate court is an appeals court and reviews the verdict of the trial court.
Evidence and witnesses are presented before trial court while appellate court reviews the decision
made by trial court and checks to see that there is a point of fact or point of law in the appeal.
In trail court, there is only one judge in the courtroom. In the appellate court, there are usually five
groups of three judges to decide the case.
Finding facts and evidence is the task of trial court while appellate court decides the case on already
collected evidences and witnesses.
Appellate court can accept, amend, or reject the decision of trial court. (pgs. 437 441)
2. There are three types of errors, the plain error, the harmless error, and the reversible error. The plain
error is the most serious and rarest, it is a substantial error that results in an unfair trial and jeopardizes
the integrity of the judicial system. A reversible error is an error that was found to have happened at
the trial level by the judge, the jury or an attorney, the decision of the court is negated and sent back to
the trial court for a new trial. A harmless error is an error that is not serious enough to change the
outcome of the trial and therefore the lower ruling stands. (pg. 444) 3. Mandatory appellate review is
for all cases that

The First Generation Of The Family
Mike had given a speech to Bodnar about the hardships that the men went through in the mills. He
wondered if God had put him on his earth was to be worked in the furnaces. Once I used to ask
myself, Is this what the good God put me on earth for, to work my life away in Carnegie s blast
furnaces, to live and die in Braddock s alleys? I couldn t believe it. Now I know that God had nothing
to do with it. Chance rules the world (Bell, 197). Mike felt everyone should love the job they work in
and shouldn t feel as if they re not appreciated. I don t mind work. But a man should be allowed to
love his work and take pride in it (Bell, 196).
The third generation of the family seemed to be the strongest willed. Mike and Mary s son, Dobie, did
everything George wouldn t do and was against not standing up to anyone. He created the birth of
labor unionism during his time working at the steel mills. It was against the law to join this labor
unionism act. Many of the mills were go into protests about how they were getting treating working at
the mills and they weren t afraid to speak their mind. This interest Dobie that something needed to be
done and he started to met with lawyers and investigators. Eventually he was able to get the steel
corporation to sign a contract to end the hardships with the steel mills. The steel corporation signed a
contract with the S.W.O.C. and the most important job ever undertaken by organized labor in America

Catholic School Values
Catholic schools help students learn about important values in life. Such as self discipline, excellence
in academics, volunteer service for both students and parents, the preparing of college, a secure
environment, and to look to Christ as a role model in our lives. By learning these values, students are
able to succeed later on life. Students at public schools do get a good education but they do not learn
about Catholic values since such practice is illegal to teach. Most particularly Catholic schools pray
and talk about God. The openness to talk about God offers students to grow spiritually and live a life
of holiness where one can be truly happy.

sacrifices for my younger siblings and I to attend to a school where we can learn about our faith and

them I was able to apply and get accepted into the Catholic high school where I can continue to pursue
a high school experience of holiness. The students I have encountered not only helped me when I fell
down but they made me feel like I belonged in Catholic school. I have made wonderful friends that
continue to make me believe in myself even in my darkest times. The memories I made at my Catholic
school is one I want to share with my children in the future. To me a Catholic education means the
guarantee of good moral thinking, self confidence, excellence in academics, a safe, loving
environment, self discipline, and most importantly to live as Jesus Christ would have lived. Catholic

See the last page.
2. How long (the throughput time) will it take to fill a rush order of 1 dozen cookie? Assume no other
cookies are currently in process. Use a Gantt chart to help with the analysis and attach the screen shot

3.What is the cycle time? How many orders can you fill in a night (4 hour period)? Does your answer
depend on the size of the order, 1 dozen, 2 dozen, or 3 dozen?
cycle time=60/6=10mins (Bottleneck is 10mins, 1hour(60mins)/10mins=6. It has a capacity 6 dozen

Why?
If our cost is depend on the ingredients. Therefore, giving discount or not is depend on how much time
we spend on the process. For the 2 dozen, we spend on 8.5 mins per dozen. 3 dozen, we spend
7.3mins per dozen. In this case, the time we spend on each dozen is decreasing in 2 dozen and 3
dozen. Therefore, we can give the discount.
6.How many electric mixers and baking trays will you need? Why?
The bottleneck is baking, which takes 10mins. We can put 3 dozens of cookies in one mixer.
Therefore, buying an additional mixer is unnecessary. However, we should buy trays. The oven only
holds one tray each time. From spoon out the cookie onto a tray to pack them in boxes, this process
takes 19mins, if we only have one tray, then we waste time on that. Therefore, we need one more tray
if we want to bake 2 dozen cookies. However, just in case, I will buy 3 trays for future accidentally
damage.
7. How can you tell that the oven. From baking activity is the bottle neck? What is the effect of adding
another oven in term of cycle time and capacity? How much in general would you be willing to pay to
rent an additional oven (you won t be able to give a number because there is no data on selling price
and costs)?
The oven is the bottleneck, because it takes the longest time to bake, which takes 10mins. Most of the
order is waiting for the oven.
It takes 10mins for only oven working.

Pepsi Of Pepsi Cola Company Essay
Pepsi Cola started as Brads Drink in his drugstore in New Bern, North Carolina in 1893. Caleb Doc
Davis Bradham decided to create a mix of sugar, water, caramel, lemon oil, nutmeg, and other natural
additives. Officially it became Pepsi Cola five years later due to its word of mouth popularity. In 1902
The Pepsi Cola Company was formed due to great demand of the product and popularity among
customers. Mr. Bradham decide to devote all his time to the product and it proceeded to become a full
fledged company. After applying for a trademark, the first Pepsi Cola company was formed and Mr.
Bradham was the first president. The company had many ups and downs but it wasn t due to not trying
to build and market the business. It fell on particular hard times during WW1 and was bankrupt in
1923 and the assets were sold to Craven Holding Corporation, the first of what would become several
ownership changes. In the early 1930 s, Pepsi Cola was once again bankrupt after the trademark was
purchased by New York stockbroker Roy Megargel. In 1931 Pepsi Cola finally took off after being
purchased by Charles G. Guth, the founder of the modern Pepsi Cola. His marketing skills took the
company to new heights, but it was not meant to be. Legal battles cost him ownership and in 1941
Pepsi was merged into Loft Inc. and the Pepsi Cola name merged in Loft. In 1950 a former vice
president of Coca Cola became CEO of the Pepsi and the product took off due to his advertising and
marketing ideas. In

Hennessey Venom Swot Analysis
A car to a normal person will get you from point A to point B and not think anything different. To
other individuals, a car is actually a part of its owner. They treat it as part of the family. These
individuals will take their pride and joy and manipulate their automobile to get the most out of it. This
could be just for looks or for performance. One of the most important things to a car junkie looks for
is speed. Since the day the automobile was created, individuals kept pushing the limits of how fast
they could go. The Model T when it was invented had a top speed between 40 45 MPH back in 1919.
These days, individuals have been able to slightly improve upon those numbers. In 2014, a Hennessey

connections. Tyson explores through many examples of the cosmic perspective to prove just how

Comparison Between Greece And Greece
Persia (550 BCE 330 BCE) and Greece (480 BCE 323 BCE) were two strong and prosperous empires.
For over two centuries, persia and Greece have been waging war on one another. Although Persia and
Greece gave men more power than women, both empires developed different social structures and
unalike religious beliefs.
Persia and Greece both have dissimilar social structures that consist of certain individuals. In early
western Iran, the society was categorized into three social classes. The classes consisted of warriors,
priests, and peasants. Warriors had the privilege in gardening, hunting, and fighting. The priest was in
charge of supervising sacrifices. And the peasants or common people were farmers and shepherds. The
Persian King had his groups of people as well. There were the son of Persian aristocrats, noblemen,
the central administration, the king s bodyguard, and many servants/slaves. On the other hand, the
Greeks had two societies: Athens and Sparta. Athens was divided into four classes. The top classes
were allowed to hold state office while the lower class could not. Sparta was separated into three
classes: Spartiate, perioeci, and helots. The Spartiate could participate in politics, serve the military,
and run Sparta. The perioeci could own land, serve in the military, and they were in charge of Sparta s
communication and trade. Last but not least, the helots were at the bottom and the most disliked. They
were slaves and they were only allowed to serve in the

Doctors have to start the treatment without the complete information of patient s medical history,
which sometimes, is life threatening for the patient. Technologies could be used in healthcare sector to
provide better healthcare facilities and reduce the operations costs. In our country we see that there is
scarcity of doctors, nurses and pharmacy. But still there is rapid growth in healthcare services, while
diseases are becoming more complex. More and more new and efficient diagnostic techniques and
new way of treatments are being developed and used in healthcare sector so as to provide the patients
with best possible treatment and in their budget. Many healthcare organizations are providing different
kind of services to cater to highly diversified economic population which in turn has resulted in
competition in the market. So the organizations which do not perform well are out of business. [3][4]
As healthcare providers need cost effective automating processes which gives more profits, cloud
computing will provide perfect platform in the healthcare information technology space. Many
hospitals may share infrastructure with large number of systems linked together. By this pooling the
hospitals automatically reduce the cost and increase utilization. The resources are delivered only when

An Effective Power Of Attorney
#1 Ineffective Power of Attorney
Whether one has an effective Durable Power of Attorney document can mean the difference between
having a trusted person handle all of your affairs, in a manner that you would yourself if you could,
versus having to endure a costly Guardianship proceeding. Therefore, having an effective power of
attorney can be crucial. Keep in mind that all Power of Attorney documents are not the same.
In fact, even if you have a Durable Power of Attorney, you will want to make sure it has sufficient
language so that your Agent can indeed administer all your affairs without the need of judicial
intervention. In other words, by having a custom Power of Attorney document that meets all your
needs, you could save thousands of dollars by avoiding Guardianship Court.
#2 No Backup
So you have found your trusted person to act for you if you are unable. Perhaps you have chosen your
spouse, an adult child, maybe a dear friend. Question now is: What happens if that person becomes
incapable of acting for you in your time of need. For example, What if the person you named has died
or is incapacitated him or herself? The question will then be: Do you have a backup were the first
person you named is unable to act for you? For couples, they will often name a trusted adult child as a
backup.
In the context of not having a backup Power of Attorney, a Guardianship may be required. In the
context of medical directives, you may be at the mercy of the

The task of implementing a protection scheme that will provide controlled access to specific files in a

need to have access to a particular file within the system. It will also provide clarity on Access control

Groups
Creating and assigning users to groups in a protection scheme is not only a recommendation but also a
standard for control all modern operating system. Users and machines alike can be assigned to groups
and that group is then placed on ACLs as if they are individual users. Every group member inherits all
the permissions granted to that group on the ACL. This assignment of users and machines to groups
will solve many problems when addressing security issues, one such issue would be the assignment of
permissions to massive number of people rather than individually
Groups permissions are managed by the ACL that grants the user the permissions assigned by the ACL
to take actions on objects. These permissions can be assigned fixed actions for a given group. For
example, a User in the Accounts group could only submit, manage and view data pertaining to the
accounts department. Someone in the Sales group also would only be able to view customer
information, add or remove products or services from the customer account, etc. Permissions also can
be set where there is an all or nothing, parameter where a member of a group manages files across
multiple ACLs. For example the HR group can manage files associated with all employees from every
department. Actions and permissions assigned

The Human Immunodeficiency Virus ( Hiv ) And The Acquired...
Introduction The Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and the Acquired Immune Deficiency
Syndrome (AIDS) do not seem to be a major topic of discussion in the World today. Especially within
the United States, HIV and AIDS are not conversed about as openly as perhaps it was in the past two
decades. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) at the end of 2010 there
were approximately 1.1 million people living in the United States with the HIV virus. Of those 1.1
million people, about 16% did not even know they were infected (Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention [CDC], 2010). Each year there are approximately 50,000 new HIV infections within the
United States (CDC, 2010). Within the 50,000 new cases of HIV infection, the elderly population is
the fastest growing segment within the United States (Sankar, Nevedal, Neufedl, Berry, Luborsky,
2011, p.2). By 2015, adults who are ages 50 and older will make up approximately 50% of all
HIV/AIDS cases in the United States (Effros, Fletcher, Gebo, Courtney, Halter, Hazzard, High, 2008,
p. 542). With the increasing number of HIV/AIDS infections, the demand for prescription drug
cocktails has increased. Half of the population diagnosed with HIV/AIDS does not receive regular
health care (CDC, 2010). Due to this there are a huge economic impact on the U.S. When it comes to
the cost of medication and treatment, many patients are not able to afford the inflated prices,

The Equal Protection Clause From The Fourteenth Amendment
The Equal Protection Clause derives from the Fourteenth Amendment, which specifies no state shall
deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws... As a part of the
Reconstruction Amendments, the aforementioned clause was meant to ensure racial equality in the
Reconstruction Period and has been applied successfully against the affirmative action. Introduced in
United States v. Carolene Products Co., the strict scrutiny has been applied to the cases, in which a
fundamental constitutional rights have been infringed or a government action applies to a suspect
classification (i.e. race, religion, national background). Specifically, in regards to Bakke v. Regents of
University of California, the Supreme Court ( the Court ) concluded that, considering that the
University of California, Davis received several Caucasian applicants for its special admission
program in 1973 and 1974 and that none of the applicants received the admission to the program since
the start, the program unfairly administered in favor of minority races and, therefore, violated the
rights of the white applicants under the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment.
Furthermore, from Hopwood v. State of Texas, the Fifth Circuit Court ruled under strict scrutiny that,
the affirmative action imposed by the University of Texas School of Law ( the law school ) violates
the Fourteenth Amendment since neither the law school nor the University of Texas system has proved

Hegemony and Youth Culture
Hegemony is a concept that involves uses of power. It was created by Antonio Gramsci in order to
understand the difference between dominant groups in society that have power and that use
intellectual and moral leadership in an attempt to win over the less powerful submissive groups
(Storey 8). In this way, hegemony will be demonstrated in youth culture. Willard states that the
cultural authority of the dominant society must be questioned as to its legitimacy in the dominant role
as the authority plays an important role in its production (739). Talcott Parson (qtd. in Osgerby) says
that youth in his view, established behaviours and values, often perceived by older generations as
unique and different from the dominant society which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Others that called themselves the authentic gothic community didn t particularly like this and thought
they sought resistance they had been portrayed the wrong way. They then used the internet to
counteract this by posting on sites that the shooters of columbine weren t true Goths and had merely
adopted gothic fashion (Griffiths 240). This indicates that the influence of the media has
misrepresented Goths as something they are not. In this case Goths had achieved the resistance from
the powerful dominating society they sought if not in the way they planned to.
Though Goths have been outcast by the media, Paul Hodkinson (qtd. in Osgerby) illustrates a different
portrayal of Goths in society, they pride themselves on having individuality, creativity, open
mindedness and commitment (132) and this is shown in society by applying themselves in creative
works, sometimes involving their usual job.
Popular entertainment also applies to hegemony in its use of power as there is a dominant view that
through the use of popular media, video games, particular theatres and other popular forms of
entertainment youth has been badly affected and influenced by these. The transgression of juvenile
crime in Britain in Victorian times in youth is thought to be derived from penny gaff theatres
(Springhall qtd. in Osgerby 66).
Over the years popular entertainment has

Companions in Artificial Intelligence Ruben Damian Corbo
University of the People
Artificial Intelligence has always been a very interesting subject to me from the time I watched any
film from the Terminator series (1984 2015) with the evil A.I. known as Skynet. Not all AI is bad as
we know from Steven Spielberg s A.I. (2001) and today Artificial Intelligence is far from fiction. I ve
always wondered how close could we get to a world where Artificial Intelligence could become a
companion, and in my research I have found that programmers and inventors are already working on a
companion to ease the sense of loneliness we all feel from time to time.
There could be a lot of reasons why someone would want some form of companionship when real life
presence is not readily available. Katie Collins (2013) quotes, Like any proud parent whose kids leave
home, Hayashi had a void to fill. He s doing that by creating a robot

Workplace Book
What is a commonplace book? My understanding of a commonplace book is less about the book
aspect and more of a method to compile knowledge, and ideas from quotes in order to reflect and gain
a greater understanding through self reflection. In a sense it is like a mental scrapbook. A place to
store ideas and work through them in order to gain a better understanding of the work as a whole. So
what made it into my scrapbook and why. Looking over the past 5 weeks of commonplace entries and
the 20 quotes that I have accumulated a few patterns seemed to develop. The first pattern that I
discovered upon reflection is when a quote has intense or impactful imagery. This pattern doesn t
surprise me. Why write anything if you re not interested in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Having a place to collect, store, and reflect on my thoughts has helped me gain a better understanding
of the assigned works that we are assigned in class. Not only that but it got me into a habit of writing
more. While the commonplace book started as a chore it has helped me put my thoughts in order and
improve upon my writing habits. What started as a laborious task turned into a path of self
improvement, reflection, and a method of creating a bulk of work to pull from to better complete this

Dashing Dreams, Raising Realism
Dashing Dreams, Raising Realism Everyone is told that they can be anyone they want to be, be
anything they want to be, and go anywhere they want to go. I took this to heart and determined that I
would go to my dream college, Washington University in St. Louis, and become an astounding author
with an English degree to be proud of. However, I knew that I might need a backup college, and I
settled upon Kansas University. Although the choice between the two originally seemed clear to me,
after doing extensive research, my views were quickly morphed. While most people would chase after
their dream college, I have found that facing reality, and choosing the so called backup college, is by
far the better choice. Education has always been my primary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

While going to a noteworthy school is delightful, the magnificence of the school comes at a price.
While Washington University is one of the best colleges in the country, they are known to be
extremely expensive. Not only that, but their scholarships are much harder to obtain. In addition, even
before trying to repay loans, tuition there costs about twice as much as going to Kansas University.
When paying off student loans, even with scholarships, students may find themselves paying around
77,000 dollars more than their original loan balance of around 180,000 dollars. Conversely, Kansas
University is much cheaper, allowing good students to take out a loan of less than 100,000 dollars.
Additionally, obtaining scholarships from Kansas University is much easier than trying for one at
Washington University. Future students from in state such as myself will find themselves having to
pay less tuition and travel costs. Although Washington University may be nicer, its ridiculous prices
make it a worse alternative to the much more affordable Kansas University. I always dreamed of
attending the glorious Washington University in St. Louis, but when doing concrete research, I found
that Kansas University may be a better alternative. Their educations vary little, but Kansas University
s social environment is much less competitive. In addition, Washington University offers a much

Supporting Influences in the Process of Special Education
How does the role of the Response to Intervention process (RTI), and the Positive Behavior
Interventions and Support (PBIS) structure influence the pre referral process for special education? In
today s time it is of common practice to use the RTI method for academic issues. Likewise, the PBIS
framework is used for issues dealing with unfavorable characteristics in student behavior. Each
method is widely known and looked on as a favorable approach. Both RTI and PBIS are very
important in addressing students during the pre referral process, and each plays a very significant role.
In the following essay the aforementioned question of their role and influence will be explored and
answered. In addressing the role of the Response to Intervention process (RTI), one must first become
familiar with the premise of this process. RTI is a method that is used to address school aged children
that are showing evidence of academic struggle. At the beginning of the pre referral process, educators
identify struggling pupils. Following this identification, these same teachers begin to explore several
avenues of remediation through highly recommended research based approaches. An approach is
selected, implemented, and the child s progress is documented fully. If solid evidence of success is
discovered, through the implementation of a given program, then the process is concluded because
success has been met. However, if there is solid evidence that proves that the program is unsuccessful

It is from a Wired magazine September 2014 issue on page 5. What they are attempting to make you buy is a Norton Antivirus program for multiple handheld systems to protect transmitted information. The main message is to use the software to keep connected with family safely. The dominant view is of the supposed father and his son sharing a cherished moment. The woman figure or mother is not being heard in this advertisement as it is shown from the male role model s perspective. The background displays either a relaxing moment or an adventure that could easily be replaced with an amusement park scene or any other event. The wording communicates the empowerment of protecting what you care about. The font displays bright yellow for the product resemblance as well as pretty sharp and standard lettering in a white format where nothing is too decorated. This image sort of displays a father son moment, either a busy family or possibly a separated couple sharing a child. The father seems a little grungy so I am just implying the separation. This even could be an uncle with his nephew or niece. The wording Boldly Go with the photo describes having an adventure and enjoying life with family without worry about personal information being lost or stolen. Consequences of Passion Exposed in The Romance of Tristan and Iseult The story of Tristan and Iseult celebrates the triumph of adultery. When looking vaguely at this romance, readers may think the potion of love that they both drink is the one that makes them to commit adultery. However, this is only a representation of the power of passion and lust Tristan and Iseult have for each other. To better understand this love story, one must realize that Tristan is a marshal hero who volunteers to take a battle against the King of Ireland, in order to redeem the people and the monarch of King Mark. It would therefore, be suitable to say that King Mark has given his nephew the trust to accomplish the mammoth exercise. In Ireland, Tristan ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (368) This is where the story of Tristan and Iseult takes a twist because the reader knows enough that Tristan, if given the chance, would like to have Iseult for himself. It is fascinating therefore, when Iseult s mother entrusts Tristan with the potion of love that should only be shared between King Mark and Iseult. By this time, Tristan and Iseult have developed passion in each other, and the potion they would drink only enhances the chemistry that is already existent. To not drink the potion, which Tristan knows would cause Iseult to love him even more, is attempting to remain dishonest to his true self. Tristan is not just an ordinary man; he is a war hero seducing the would be queen of Cornwall. Because of this predicament, Iseult as the wife to the king is to engage in adulterous affair with Tristan to reinforce the courtly love value, while Tristan gains access to Iseult through chivalrious prowess. The potion of wine therefore, serves as a big temptation for both, and the Christian ideal that is forced into the situation by the hermit stands as an experiment. How then can all these three values be reconciled in this story? I think it is not only the flaw displayed by medieval people like Tristan to succumb to the temptation of fulfilling sexual desires. The concept of eat, drink and be merry comes into play in this story and quite evidently, even in our contemporary society, we have not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Even in this day and age, women still face these issues, and for years, female poets and music artists have used their creativity to express the emotions they keep bottled up. The writer of the poem Lady, Lady , Anne Spencer, was alive during a time where women did not have the social status that they possess today. She was an African American poet, and important figure, during the Harlem Renaissance. Spencer s poems focused mostly on equality, nature, and women. In the song Superwoman , Alicia Keys writes that she hangs [her] head in sorrow [at the] state of humanity. What the songwriter means by this is that she is saddened by the situations that women are put through and her lyrics are clearly more literal regarding her position on the issue of gender equality. Over the next three months the United States, along with Cuban Rebels waged war against the Spanish forces in hopes of returning the Cuban lands back to its people. President McKinley who was pressured into war by yellow press, sent American forces into battle which ultimately led to the birth of a western hemispheric super power, the United States. The sinking of the USS Maine, the use of yellow press journalism, and the national uproar and motivation is what drove the Americans to victory. Valeriano Weyler, the Spanish General in Cuba, started a campaign called Subjugation or Death. This bloody campaign was Spain s attempt to force the local people into slavery. Filled with concentration camps, burning villages and murdering Cubans, this campaign took the lives of over 200,000 Cuban people. Since Spain was aware that the US had sympathy towards the Cuban rebels this endangered the lives of American citizens living there. The USS Maine was built in 1888 and was seen as advanced American battleship modeled after advanced European designs. The agents and label companies will become winners as well through the transformations. The larger companies will most likely lose some strength and then gain back once they begin to find new artists and those artists begin to take off. The risk/reward of the digital market here will yield much more reward and their financial strength from the start will help them be a winner here. Malinche was a slave, she had no power other than her ability to translate for the Spaniards.Yet, her name still holds controversy in the Mexican community. La Malinche is acclaimed to be the harlot of Conquistador Hernan Cortez, her name is a curse among her people. Malinche is blamed for the suffering of the natives and is believed to be a complacent whore. The history of Malinche was obscured by fiction and then sold to the Native population of Mexico. The Spanish wanted the natives to believe that Malinche was the antagonist so they could deflect the blame from themselves. This increased tensions in the native communities and helped the Spanish achieve greater success during the colonization of Mexico. It is Ironic that the Mexican people curse Malinche because they are feeding into the very propaganda that belittles their original native ancestry. The Spanish believed that the natives were stupid, their traditions were savage and held no place in their new world. The Spanish planted these seeds of guilt in regards to Malinche, attempting to falsify history through literature and culture. Instead of embracing Malinches contributions, her children, the Mexicans curse her name and defy their native origins. The Spanish then achieve the satisfaction of taking all the credibility for her actions against the Aztecs. By feeding the natives false information about their Mother, the Spanish are able to control the perception of the uneducated. These fictions are apparent in the articles that we have read. The seeds of hatred that the Spanish have sown, appear in the form of prejudice, racism, and sexism. . • 19. A Human-Friendly Method of Treating Acid Mine Drainage The worldwide problem of acid mine drainage causes harm to waterways, plants, animals, and even humans. Acid mine drainage is water with a high acidity content that originates from water coming in contact with highly acidic bearing materials in rocks. Those rocks are common in mining regions, which is why acid mine drainage is such a problem for those locations, including the coal mining region of Northeastern Pennsylvania. The water affected by acid mine drainage becomes yellow or orange in color due to the presence of dissolved iron in the oxygen rich water and the water reeks of sulfur. The water from acid mine drainage has a high pH level and can be dangerous if it comes in contact with living organisms. Acid mine drainage occurs gradually, with some scientists and governmental officials predicting some cases of acid mine drainage may be around for as long as a thousand years (Earthworks Action). Acid mine drainage is a monetary burden as well as an environmental one. • 23. Difference Between The Appellate Process And Trial Process 1. The appellate process and appeals differs from the trial process and trials in the following ways: Trial court is the first court where case is tried. (pg. 353 359) Appellate court is an appeals court and reviews the verdict of the trial court. Evidence and witnesses are presented before trial court while appellate court reviews the decision made by trial court and checks to see that there is a point of fact or point of law in the appeal. In trail court, there is only one judge in the courtroom. In the appellate court, there are usually five groups of three judges to decide the case. Finding facts and evidence is the task of trial court while appellate court decides the case on already collected evidences and witnesses. Appellate court can accept, amend, or reject the decision of trial court. (pgs. 437 441) 2. There are three types of errors, the plain error, the harmless error, and the reversible error. The plain error is the most serious and rarest, it is a substantial error that results in an unfair trial and jeopardizes the integrity of the judicial system. A reversible error is an error that was found to have happened at the trial level by the judge, the jury or an attorney, the decision of the court is negated and sent back to the trial court for a new trial. A harmless error is an error that is not serious enough to change the outcome of the trial and therefore the lower ruling stands. (pg. 444) 3. Mandatory appellate review is for all cases that ... For over two centuries, persia and Greece have been waging war on one another. Although Persia and Greece gave men more power than women, both empires developed different social structures and unalike religious beliefs. Persia and Greece both have dissimilar social structures that consist of certain individuals. In early western Iran, the society was categorized into three social classes. The classes consisted of warriors, priests, and peasants. Warriors had the privilege in gardening, hunting, and fighting. The priest was in charge of supervising sacrifices. And the peasants or common people were farmers and shepherds. The Persian King had his groups of people as well. There were the son of Persian aristocrats, noblemen, the central administration, the king s bodyguard, and many servants/slaves. On the other hand, the Greeks had two societies: Athens and Sparta. The Spartiate could participate in politics, serve the military, and run Sparta. The perioeci could own land, serve in the military, and they were in charge of Sparta s communication and trade. Introduction The Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and the Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) do not seem to be a major topic of discussion in the World today. Especially within the United States, HIV and AIDS are not conversed about as openly as perhaps it was in the past two decades. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) at the end of 2010 there were approximately 1.1 million people living in the United States with the HIV virus. Of those 1.1 million people, about 16% did not even know they were infected (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], 2010). Each year there are approximately 50,000 new HIV infections within the United States (CDC, 2010). Within the 50,000 new cases of HIV infection, the elderly population is the fastest growing segment within the United States (Sankar, Nevedal, Neufedl, Berry, Luborsky, 2011, p.2). By 2015, adults who are ages 50 and older will make up approximately 50% of all HIV/AIDS cases in the United States (Effros, Fletcher, Gebo, Courtney, Halter, Hazzard, High, 2008, p. 542). With the increasing number of HIV/AIDS infections, the demand for prescription drug cocktails has increased. Half of the population diagnosed with HIV/AIDS does not receive regular health care (CDC, 2010). It was created by Antonio Gramsci in order to understand the difference between dominant groups in society that have power and that use intellectual and moral leadership in an attempt to win over the less powerful submissive groups (Storey 8). In this way, hegemony will be demonstrated in youth culture. Willard states that the cultural authority of the dominant society must be questioned as to its legitimacy in the dominant role as the authority plays an important role in its production (739). This indicates that the influence of the media has misrepresented Goths as something they are not.
