Essay On The Week 1
After clicking the print button, the young researcher took his hand off the mouse and stretched,
groaning as his back popped. Sighing in contentment, he looked at his partner who was similarly
printing out the results of their tests. Miwa, you want to get a cup of coffee later? the researcher asked
after Miwa retrieved both their papers. Sure, I ll treat you this time. Good work, my man, Miwa
replied. So, what do you think about your first overnight shift here? I still can t believe I m working
for Everworld right now! the researcher replied, suddenly energetic. His speaking quickened. That

It would be an affront to his ancestors if he didn t ask for an autograph... Rochen walked past him. The
young researcher tucked the test results under his arm while he searched his pockets for a pen. Fishing
one out, he turned and started toward his idol when Miwa grabbed his arm. What are you doing?
Miwa hissed. The researcher frowned. I m getting an autograph! I can get you one too if you want, let
go! Miwa s grip was tight and he shook his head. It s 16th of February today. It s not a good time.
Maybe later? The young researcher s excitement drained away, quickly replaced by horror. He had
been so happy over meeting his idol that he had forgotten that today was the anniversary of Rochen s
wife s death. Rochen Rochmell had a wife named Lira who he had known since childhood.
Unfortunately, Lira had died twelve years ago from a genetic disease. Rochen never remarried and
visited Lira s grave every year on the 16th of February. If he had been so blunt to ask his idol for an
autograph on a day as inauspicious as today, who knew how bad Rochen s opinion of him would be?
Swallowing, the young researcher nodded and turned back, his footsteps quickening as he
accompanied Miwa toward their supervisor s room. Rochen Rochwell whistled softly as he walked out
of Everworld Headquarters. He reached into his pocket and pressed a button. The button read his
fingerprints and issued a quiet beep of confirmation. Seconds later, a sleek gray car

The Bill Of Rights Is Outdated
Some might say the Bill of Rights is outdated, since it was written back in 1789. I would like to show
how it is as relevant today as when it was first penned. Some people believe the Bills of Rights are
outdated and need to be modernized. Our Bill of Rights should not be altered and therefore should
remain the same. These rights retain an important role in American society and outlines specific
freedoms for all Americans. They are essential to preserving our individual rights while ensuring
freedom for our future generations.
The Bill of Rights is the name for the first ten Amendments of the United States Constitution. This
limits the power of the U.S. Federal Government. Those limitations protect our natural God given
rights and ensure no man or government will be able to obtain excessive power and infringe them.
Some of these rights include freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of
assembly, and our right to keep and bear arms. Our Founding Fathers wanted to name these particular
rights to prevent citizens from being oppressed and to the limit the intrusion of the Government.
The Bill of Rights should not be altered because it protects the citizens of America and it enumerates
specific freedoms given to us in our Constitution. The Bill of Rights is somewhat like the Ten
Commandments, which highlights specific guidelines which keeps our nation in check. Before we
consider altering the Bill of Rights, we should first seek to evaluate and gain

Batman Origin
Although the Batman: Year one was released almost thirty years ago, it was one of the most popular,
best known origins in popular culture because of its true character and raw chain of events: a young
boy becomes scarred for life after he sees his family murdered in a dark alley by a quarrelsome
mugger simply by chance. After years of training to be the greatest crime fighter in the world evolves
the Batman, one of the greatest superheroes of all time and protector of Gotham City. Although there
was one clear provenance when the original graphic novel was released, after two huge blockbuster
movies, almost half a dozen animated series, a greatly popular video game, and multiple other comic
book interpretations, that origin has been morphed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The mistake was not accounting for the impact first person narration had over placing the characters
and narrative action within their proper context in the original comic. This mistake is vividly apparent
in a scene where Batman is on one of his first adventures to fight crime in his costume where he
attacks three teenagers that are in the middle of robbing an apartment. The scene does not have much
action to it besides the rookie Batman almost throwing one of teens off a fire escape then saving him
and fighting off the other two accomplices. After Batman defeats them and saves the other boy he lies
on the ground for a bit and mentally scolds himself for being a lucky amateur . The scene in the
original comic is much more different as Wayne s emotions, feelings, observations, the context of
actions, and his pain are much more apparent. They are portrayed through Wayne s first person
narration which is where most of the visual and mental content comes from in the scene, all of which
is almost inexistent during the scene in the animated version. Instead of slowly uncovering something
else Batman was feeling during that scene through his first person narration, all that was compressed
and saved for when Wayne is on the ground scolding himself. The original scene was filled with
emotional and narrative context and when compared to the brief scene from the movie, which still
makes its point, the comic simply blows the movie out of the

Study Of Hbase A Nonsql Database Essay
Study of Hbase A NonSql Database
Abstract:
With the expansion of the internet, there has been an exponential growth in the data being collected
from various social media, searching patterns and online transactions. This rapid growth of data has
become difficult to be handled by relational database, thus they have been replaced with NoSql
databases. The NoSql databases are distributed databases that have the ability to store and process
large volumes of data.
This study is focused on HBase database which is a column oriented NoSql database. HBase is
Apache s open source database that is modeled after Google s BigTable technology. It uses Java as the
API and is developed on top of the Hadoop distributed file system (HDFS) to store and process large
quantities of data, maintaining reliability and fault tolerance. This database is being used by many big
enterprises including Facebook, Twitter and Yahoo to store and process large quantities of data in
efficient and cost effective manner.
Together HBase and HDFS allow low cost hardware to be used to provide a reliable and fault tolerant
data management solution that is highly scalable solution to meet the challenges of rapidly growing
data efficaciously.
Keywords: BigData, No Sql database, Hadoop, MapReduce, HBase, HFDS

Native Americans in the United States and Squanto Essay
Squanto Squanto is a Native American who lived in the early seventeenth century in what is now the
Northeast United States. When the English came to this area of America to settle, they became very
fond of Squanto and used him as a translator due to his unique knowledge of the English language
acquired through an earlier voyage to Europe. Squanto helped the Pilgrims adapt to their new
surroundings by providing them with the knowledge that he and his ancestors used to survive when
they first settled in this area. He became known as a friend to the English and a spokesman for his
Native friends (Johnson p.2). However, in helping the English, Squanto realized the power he had
obtained through his position and used it for his own gain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He also acted as an interpreter and a guide to help make the English more comfortable around the
indigenous people (). Without Squanto s help, the Pilgrims would probably have had severe famine
over the next year, and would have lived in constant fear of their indian neighbors (Johnson p.2); the
English could not have survived without the knowledge that Squanto had given them. However, the
friendly side of Squanto is traditionally the only one taught to the American public, in which he is
portrayed as an extremely friendly Native American who devoted much of his time and effort to
helping the European settlers adapt to their newly acquired land. It is true that Squanto was a great
help to the English settlers, however many modern texts, articles, and essays concerning Squanto
neglect to include his betrayal of many Native American tribes in what is now Connecticut and Long
Island(Vine p. 201 ). Many elementary educated students are led to believe that Squanto simply saved
the newcomers from starvation and [taught] the Pilgrims how to survive (David p. 24). This
misconception of Squanto is the exact opposite of what many Natives thought of him(Vine p.201). He
became aware of his position with the English and began to threaten the indians by telling them he
would release the plague (Johnson p.2) on them if they did not do what they were told. He also
provided the English with certain secrets that allowed them to easily defeat other

Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy Research Paper
Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy (MMD) Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy, abbreviated MMD, is a
disease that affects the muscles and organs of a body. To break Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy down,
the word myotonic is the adjective for myotonia, which is an inability to relax muscles at will.
Muscular dystrophy means the gradual muscle degeneration, which weakens and shrinks muscle
tissue. Knowing the breakdown of MMD, this disease summed up means a person is restricted to relax
their muscles at their own will whenever they would like ( Overview Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy ).
MMD is also known as Steinert Disease , which was named after a German doctor who first described
the disorder in 1909 ( Facts About Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy ). There are two types of Myotonic
Muscular Dystrophy. Type one MMD, abbreviated MMD1, occurs when a gene on chromosome 19
contains an abnormally enlarged section. Type two MMD, abbreviated MMD2, is caused by an

Factory Farms Vs Factory Farming
Where does the food humans consume come from. Probably not, if foods placed on the plate most find
satisfaction with that. But, most of the food humans consume probably comes from factory farms.
Factory farms consist of large buildings that confine animals in order to prevent diseases but also to
produce food fast and more efficiently. Factory farms help produce more food to feed the world.
World hunger continues to be a growing issue and has caused issues for quite some time. Factory
farms increase production and help feed the world. Due to an increase in population factory farms
holds the world s food supply in check. Factory farms produce more animals in a quicker matter than
any other place. Factory farms help contain waste and help stop some environmental problems that
come with raising livestock. One problem that concerns most happens to be the disposal of animal
waste. With their waste being captured in a pit under the confinement factory farms help stop the
spread of pollution that comes from livestock.
One example of a factory farm in use, a major producing company Tyson foods. At Tyson foods 33
day old chickens weigh enough to be slaughtered. This goes to show that factory farms need to be
used in order to feed the world. Factory farms raise food more efficient than any other place. Brett
Hendricks Tyson foods responsible for 7 million birds alone. Tyson foods, a factory farms that has

Analysis of William Faulkner s Noble Prize of Literature Acceptance Speech William Faulkner was an
often misunderstood writer of many novels and short stories. ( William Faulkner s Nobel Prize
Acceptance Speech ) It was not until 1949 and after his death when he was given the Nobel Prize in
Literature that people began to acknowledge him and his works. ( William Faulkner ) In his Nobel
Prize of Literature acceptance speech, at the city hall in Stockholm on December 10, 1950, Faulkner
uses a powerful tone and effective rhetorical devices to convey his purpose. In his Nobel Prize of
Literature acceptance speech, William Faulkner utilizes rhetorical devices such as ... Show more

This device helps him convey that people need to start writing about emotional conflicts with
themselves because that alone can make good writing. He also uses a metaphor to compare the writing
of something meaningful and important to something not when he states, He writes not of the heart
but of the glands . This helps the effectiveness by comparing something major and meaningful such as
the heart to something less meaningful and pity as a gland. These were effective by helping Faulkner
relate to everyday situations and thing we are familiar in life therefore aiding him in connecting with
his audience.
Faulkner uses syntactical strategies throughout his speech to assist him in communicating his message
to his audience. In the third paragraph he emphasizes a syntax device known as anaphora, when
stating, He must learn them again... He much teach himself... He writes not of love...He writes not of
the heart... .The anaphora helps Faulkner be effective in his argument by the repetition of words to
help him get his view of things across to the audience. To also succor his effectiveness he uses
polysyndeton, which is used to draw the audience s attention therefore adding the effect of persistence
and intensity to help keep his audiences attention, making his speech effective. An example of
polysyndeton is when he declares love and honor and pity and pride and compassion and sacrifice
This quote helps signify that authors need to write from their soul and

Racial Profiling Characteristics
Racial profiling is targeting individuals based upon their particular characteristics ( What is Racial,
2015). Before September 11th, polls showed that Americans of all races and ethnicities believed racial
profiling to be both widespread and unacceptable ( Reports and Curricula, 2015). However, after the
September 11th terrorists attacks on the World Trade Centers and the Pentagon, this was no longer the
case. Individuals as well as the federal government started to racially profile Arab Americans, Arabs,
and Muslims ( Reports and Curricula, 2015).
Today, there are close to six million Muslims living in the United States. In the video Flying While

Assess the Individual in a Health and Social Care Setting...
Unit 518
Assess the individual in a health and social care setting Compare and contrast the range and purpose
of different forms of assessment
The assessment process is the back bone to any package of care and it is vital that it is personal and
appropriate to the individual concerned. Although studies have found that there is no singular theory
or understanding as to what the purpose of assessment is, there are different approaches and forms of
assessment carried out in health and social care. These different approaches can sometimes result in
different outcomes.
One method of assessment used is a holistic approach. To assess an individual in a holistic manner is
to see that individual for more than just their functioning body, ... Show more content on

The next stage is to implement the care package, ensuring all the care staffs involved are made aware
of the individuals needs and preferences. After 6 weeks we would then review the care package,
making any adjustments if required, and following that the care package would be reviewed again in
12 months. If for any reason there was a change to the individuals needs or situation then a review
would be carried out at an earlier date in order to address the change.
Research was carried out by Smale et al (1993) which suggested three different models of assessment.
One model was the Questioning Model which suggests that the assessor leads the process by
questioning the individual and developing a more service led assessment. Another model is the
Procedural Model . I believe this method would be used more commonly be social workers when
means testing an individual for a suitable care package. The Procedural Model is based on a set of
criteria and checklists which a professional would carry out based on the needs of the individual. I do
not feel that this method would be appropriate for setting up a care package in a domiciliary setting as
it is not person centred friendly. The final model that was

The Creation Of A Hip Hop Music Genre
Hip Hop
The music that truly inspires who I am today would have to be hip hop. The genre itself has been
around for generations and many more to come. Let alone of the sheer diversity of the genre. Also, the
variations each rapper, emcee, etc. to bring to the genre makes it so much larger than people may think
about it. Last, but not least hip hop has a lot of culture and its only been around since 1979.
First, of all the genre hip hop is truly diverse open to any and of all ethnicities to join the genre.
Another reason, is that hip hop has very nice production from the G funk era, to the trap era that is of
the present. Furthermore, people may think hip hop is only rap, but that isn t true. Hip hop can be

soul, except for country they both don t mix. Finally, some hip hop artists use their music as a public

The Rings of Saturn by W.G. Sebald
W.G. Sebald s novel The Rings of Saturn explores the relationship between toleration and persecution
through a first person narrative. The novel is preoccupied with loss and the ways we have tried to
come to terms with mortality. It is a meditation on the destructive nature of history, the human lives
affected, and the restorative power of art. However, his work is not simply a record of these human
induced catastrophes, but also attempts to fashion new representational tools for the purpose of
acknowledging and coming to terms with the realities of modern human history. Sebald s critcism
tends to focus on the biographical and psychological backgrounds of the writers he mentions. He
draws heavily on the canon of twentieth century Marxist thought, including works from Theodor
Adorno and Max Horkheimer. His complex thesis draws specifically on their work The Dialectic of
Enlightenment. The Enlightenment was an intellectual movement that spread through Europe during
the eighteenth century, which involved a radical change in the way that philosophers and others
understood the role of reason. It valued independent thought and promoted reason to a higher status
and for some came to replace faith. Intrinsic in Sebald s work is the idea that the Enlightenment
project was programmed by violent distrusts of the non identical and a coercive desire to eliminate
otherness. Specifically, Sebald draws on Horkheimer and Adorno s critique of civilization articulated
in The Dialectic of the

The Rhodes Must Fall Movement
This essay will attempt to give a response of the Rhodes Must Fall writings. It is clear that the rising
of movements like Rhodes Must Fall, has been a result of a wave of philosophies of Fanon and Biko
who share a highly similar pedigree in their interests in the philosophical psychology of consciousness
and desire for a decolonising of the mind (). Their ideologies have the interest of young South
Africans. The essay will be done by looking into how the movement wants the university to be
decolonised, the statue of Rhodes, alienation the students are experiencing, curriculum change, the
university s lack of cultural space and representation of blacks, racism in the university and
social/systematic exclusion of black students. In order to understand what the movement wants to
achieve, it is relevant to provide a background of its insurgence. The Rhodes Must Fall Movement is a
collective movement of students and staff members mobilizing for direct action against the reality of
institutional racism at the University of Cape Town (The Johannesburg Salon, 2015:6) .The movement
aims to advance black students interests by ending the oppression they experience in the university
and achieving equality. It is a shame that the University of Cape Town, just like other parts of the
South African society still retain a colonial character. The Rhodes Must ... Show more content on

New Hampshire Visit
My mother held the reason for the family s New Hampshire visit, two tickets to a race at New
Hampshire Motor Speedway. While my parents attended the race in the sweltering heat, my sister,
Catlyn, and I had the entire day to ourselves. We didn t have much of a plan besides spending the day
without our parents. Catlyn and I agreed to explore the area around Hampton, starting near our hotel.
We found a pamphlet for a group of outlet stores. Upon further inspection of the pamphlet, we realized
that outlets were in Maine. This fact had confused us. To our knowledge New Hampshire and Maine

arrived at Kittery sometime near noon. After walking around in the summer heat, we stopped at a Bose

Stuttering In The King s Speech
The King s Speech (2010) follows King George VI, referred to as Bertie throughout the film, as he
seeks stuttering treatment while managing his increasing responsibilities in the years preceding World
War II. One of the ongoing thematic elements of The King s Speech was Bertie s on going struggle
with his self confidence and self worth, especially as the looming responsibilities of kingship magnify
his feelings of inadequacy. It was interesting to contrast Bertie s self perception to the manner in
which his stuttering was perceived by those around him. In a few instances, Bertie mentions that his
stuttering has always been particularly difficult when speaking with his father and older brother. In
one of the few scenes with King George V, the King is seen as being extremely strict with Bertie.
While he initially tries to encourage Bertie by stating public speaking is a matter of practice, this
attempt at encouragement rapidly devolved into openly berating Bertie. Almost immediately upon
sitting down, the King instructed Bertie to sit up straight, to get it out , and even at one point angrily
tells his son to relax. A second scene involved Bertie stating that his brother, Edward, was prone to
mocking his stuttering and was even encouraged to do so by their father. As adults, Edward resorts to
mocking Bertie when faced with criticism. Given the negative attitudes of his family members
towards his stuttering, it is understandable that these attitudes contributed so

The Oil And Natural Gas
Everyday oil and natural gas is being found in new areas and being sought after by companies who
want to drill for and use those resources. More often than not these resources are under land already
owned by someone else so the companies must come to an agreement with the landowner in order to
get permission to drill for the oil and natural gas. Oil and gas are valuable commodities for
landowners and can mean an extra income. Instead of selling the land and completely giving up their
stake in the potential fortune most owners decide to negotiate a lease with the company in which both
parties benefit from the resources.

A landman (or woman) is a person whose job it is to secure leases on as large an area as possible and
they are either employed by oil and gas companies or work independently. Because these men and
women are professionals and are trained in the art of making sells using all possible tactics, it is
usually advised that landowners seek an attorney or some type of professional to assist in the
negotiations.
A lease in this context is a legal document or contract between a landowner who is the lessor and a
company (or individual) who is the lessee that grants the lessee rights to exploration and development
rights to potential subsurface mineral commodities. Today there is no standard oil and gas lease form.
At one point the Producers 88 form was considered the standard form but today various oil and gas
companies utilized several different types of lease forms as their starting point for negotiations.
Generally their are two broad types of oil and gas lease forms based on the timing of the lease bonus
payments. The most commonly used type is the Pay Up lease which no bonus payments are due after
the signing of the lease, instead the lessor gets one hundred percent of the lease bonus money
combined with annual rental payments up front. The other type is the Rental Lease that is not as
commonly used in which the lease, can lapse if the rentals are not paid in a timely manner by the
company which would ultimately result in the termination of

Compare And Contrast In The Grove And The Return Of Martin...
Throughout this semester we read numerus of text relating to this semester enduring question what do
we know, and how can we know our understanding is reliable? with this question in hand I would like
to us two text to explore this question. The first text being In the Grove, by Akutagawa the second text
being The Return of Martin Guerre by Natalie Zemon Davis. Both books have multiple people telling
multiple stories hence what do we know and how do we know what is true form who is telling us
these things. The different tales we hear in both stories exemplifies different methods for pursing
knowledge. The Return of Martin Guerre by Natalie Zemon Davis we hear a tale of a man named
Arnaud du Tilh who takes advantage of a village with a long lost man by the name of Martin Guerre.
The village was overwhelmed with joy to see that Martin had returned the towns people over looked
the difference in his appearance then what he looked like when he had left. The village had believed
him because he had told the stories they had cherished and long forgot about things that the real
Martin had done with the villagers several years ago. Arnaud du Tilh used storytelling and the use of
their memory to remind ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The story goes through and have the characters each tell us what knowledge they know and we as
readers are left in the end to decide who is the one who actually killed the Samurai. We as readers are
supposed to use our knowledge we retain from reading to make a decision on who the perpetrator is.
Yet in the story the court is also trying to use their knowledge from what they have just heard to make
a decision on who is guilty we don t get to hear the verdict because the author like I said before wants
us to use what we had learned from all of the stories and figure it out our self and discuss what we

Impact Of International Aid Program On Sub Saharan African...
The intertwined nature of poverty and education, as well as the interplay between the two has
constantly been raised in the literature and research of development (Arnove1980; Deininger 2000;
Don 2001 Torres 2003), inter alia in search of the way for achieving universal primary education
(UPE) in the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). It is also the focus of international cooperation
since UPE is one of the major objectives of international development aid (Aiglepierre Wagner 2013).
The year of 2015 is approaching but the issues such as global poverty and education inequality still
persist in many developing countries. An inevitable question arises: has the international aid been a
contributory factor to those recipient countries in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Others such as the World System theory and Dependency theory, see education as an instrument used
by the developed/core countries to penetrate western ideology and values into the
developing/periphery or semi periphery countries as part of the process of exploitation, which worsens
the condition of poverty so the poor remains poor.
To be specific and explicit, the Modernisation theory emerged in the late 1950s claiming that to
improve living standards, leaving poverty and backwardness behind, traditional societies or low
income countries have to learn from and adapt to the values held by the modern western countries
(Fagerlind Saha 1989; Matunhu 2011). The ideas of becoming modern are strongly associated with the
promotion of Westernisation or colonisation as well as the development of dependency between rich
and poor countries (Don 2001, p. 617 618). If we accept this premise, education was considered by
this theory to be endowed with a pivotal role because of its ability to diffuse western values and
knowledge. It was considered a great contribution to the economic productivity in the growth process,
especially of developing countries (Arnove1980, p.48). Some of the proponents of modernisation
theory believe that some unenlightened countries have already benefited a lot from learning about the
successful western model of

Antibiotic Investigation
The graph I have created is a line graph. I included the four types of antibiotics we tested.
Control, which is a blank template and has no medicine on it, but acted example of no effectiveness,
penicillin, streptomycin, and tetracycline. The zone of inhabitation is a circular shape around the circle
pad of antibiotic that represents the effectiveness of an antibiotic at a given dosage. It is measured in
millimeters and included the diameter of the disk of antibiotic. We determine the effectiveness of it by
putting the different measurements in three different categories. The categories are resistant,
intermediate, and susceptible. Resistant means that the antibiotic was not effective, intermediate
means it was slightly effective, and susceptible ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
coli, and the other was for s. epi. We covered the inside of each petri dish (that had a jelly base) with
the bacteria it was designated for. After that, we split both dishes into four sections. In the middle of
each section we would put an antibiotic disc. After all four of the antibiotics were placed in each dish
with tweezers, they were incubated overnight. The next day, we measured the zone of inhabitance
around each antibiotic disc. I had two statements in my hypothesis. If S. epi is gram positive, then
penicillin, streptomycin, and tetracycline will be effective on it because each one reacts with gram
positive bacteria. If E. coli is gram negative, then streptomycin and tetracycline will be effective on it
because each one reacts with gram positive bacteria. I reject the first statement in my hypothesis
because only one of the antibiotics was susceptible on s. epi, while the others were resistant. I accept
my second hypothesis because both streptomycin and tetracycline were susceptible on the e. coli
bacteria. We can relate this experiment to the outside world by testing the effectiveness of antibiotics
on certain diseases and infections. This important for the care and treatment of people so they can
continue living their lives. If I or a friend every needed to know the effectiveness of a antibiotic
against a bacteria I can look up labs similar to this one to make sure we are taking the right

Distribution Channel Of Tata Motors
2.3 Distribution
Distribution Channels
The distribution channel environment for automobiles in India is different from that of most advanced
countries. These differences exist in number of dealers, size and type of dealers, functions of dealer,
manufacturer dealer relationship, car supermarkets, vertical integration, bookings, financing, number
of cars sold per dealer, margins, and market environment. Because customer has wide choice, most car
dealers would have to adjust to the as per the need of the customer. As far as Tata Motors is concerned
and in the current automobile marketing system, the dealer orders cars in advance in a `push system
driven by the Tata Motor s agendas, and there after the dealer has to bend the customer s requirements

Tata Motors first ship the products to their depot from where it is taken to a local distributor, who then
supplies to the retailers in that region, and finally sell it to the end customer. In some cases, where the
Tata Motors does not operate its own depots, it employs a carrying and forwarding agent (C F), who
then supplies to the local distributor. The roles of the above mentioned players in the distribution
channel are extremely important because most of the retail stores could stock only 5 10 units of a
given stock and often stock competing brands of Tata Motors together in a small space. As a result, it
is the distributors and sales agents, who have to convince the retailer on stocking their products as
well as making sure that their items are sold in a timely fashion at the retail stores. A local distributor
may have 5% to 10% margin, while a C F agent may have 2% to 4%. The final price has to be paid by

The Influence Of William Herschel s Telescope
Kathleen Lundeen, an English professor at Western Washington University, offers a view of William
Herschel s creation of the largest telescope (for at least fifty years), and how the public received this
invention. Lundeen explains that Herschel was as renowned as a maker of telescopes as he was as an
astronomer, and he oversaw the construction of several hundred instruments, which were sold in
England and on the continent (2). Herschel, his sister, and his son, all shared an interest in astronomy;
and all of which made numerous contributions to the study of the sky (O Connor Robertson 1999).

significant flaws with his telescope and designs. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although Herschel had a lot of success with his forty foot telescope, he himself was aware of its
limitations and flaws. He knew that moving the massive scope was not really feasible, which made
looking at different parts of the sky a challenge. Also, the material the telescope was made of was not
ideal. The telescope s mirror was very thick, and tarnishing became an issue, especially because of the
amount of copper. Condensation would also occur, which not only affected the visibility, but also
accelerated the tarnishing (Lundeen 9). Despite the flaws, I think people tend to forget just how
massive this telescope was, and how revolutionary it should be considered, even just as an example of

Do celebrities make bad role models? I believe they do. Kids see celebrities in the news everyday and
mimic what they do, thinking that they should be like them. But that is wrong. Most celebrities don t
know what they are doing in their life because they have a hard time telling reality from fantasy. They
are like you and me, but people think that they are more than that. Most magazines and movies have

Ledan (currently going by the alias of Ledan Leda Hale) is an archangel/human hybrid, sometimes

then the company improved the update system by introducing FedEx.com webpage. This webpage
allowed the tracking data to be easily accessible. However, recently, FedEx uses Savvy bundle for
packing and tracking the products across couriers. (Baldwin, 2016)

Instinctively, Takayuki jammed down the emergency opening button on the controls and with a hiss;

The unchecked fires were dispersing rapidly from downtown Nakanoshima, and had at last reached
the Kansai Power building. Believing it to be empty, emergency crews were instructed to stay outside,
whilst firemen attempted to tame the fires.
Panting heavily, Takayuki stripped off his sweaty jacket, carelessly dumping it on the ground as he

It s Time To End Poverty In The United States
Throughout years poverty has been an ongoing situation that has only been increasing throughout the
years. Many efforts have been issued by the government over the situation; but yet many of those
efforts have failed to succeed. Increased dependency is the only long term impact that government
efforts have had on poverty. By solving poverty the government could make the economy grow more

Detection And Treatment Of Malocclusions And Other Dental...
Abstract
Detection and treatment of malocclusions and other dental deformities are a considerable field of work
in the plan of orthodontic treatment. Severe malformations of the midface such as maxillary or
mandibular deformity can be treated by the distraction and reformation of skull bones. During an
operation, the appropriate bony part of the mid face is separated from the rest of the skull (osteotomy),
slowly moved into the ideal position by way of a distraction device. In the current clinical practice,
planning for orthodontic treatment and orthognathic surgery was based on Computed Tomography
(CT) data sets. CT images are inefficient for helping the orthodontists and surgeons in treatment and
surgical planning. A tool is needed to help the physicians and surgeons in the treatment planning in
order to anticipate the results and give the accurate decision, in this paper there are preliminary
descriptive studies on DICOM images of the skull to help the orthodontists by providing the following
algorithms: Segmentation of the lower jaw (mandible), Segmentation of the upper jaw (maxilla) from
CT data, Segmentation of upper teeth, each tooth and computation of mandible volume.
Keywords: CT scans, threshold, K mean, Region growing, DICOM.

they hold greater test scores since they are focusing a greater narrow path, not a broad path like public

Management (v/s) Leadership:
In one of the articles Kent (2005, p1012) succinctly sums up the most commonly made distinctions
between management and leadership with clear echoes of Drucker when he states: Managers do the
things right; leaders do the right things; managing is an authority relationship; leading is an influence
relationship; and managing creates stability; leading creates change .
US President Truman famously had a motto on his desk during his period of office, which starkly
outlined what makes the difference between a leader and manager: The buck stops here .
Clegg et al (2005) expound in their work the interesting view that management, or rather good or
successful management, should not be noticed. They consider that the clearest sign that a manager is
doing an excellent job managing her team; she takes time off work and no one notices she s gone
(Clegg et al,2005,p 233).It would seem that, whereas leadership is a high visibility, high profile role,
that of a manager should be like the oil which keeps cogs turning, virtually invisible.
The different strategies a Team leader adapts for depends upon the Task Orientation and
Employee Orientation and can be best attributed by this exhibit.

Ambiguity In Emily Bronte s Remembrance
In the poem Remembrance, Emily Bronte writes about a person who mourns the death of a loved one.
Since no names are explicitly given, however, ambiguity surrounds the identity of the speaker and
loved one. One interpretation is that the persona is Bronte herself, having lost her mother and sisters at
a young age. Another interpretation is that the persona is simply a figure through which Bronte
expresses the general experiences of love, loss, and memory. However, after reading the poem, it is
hard to imagine someone crafting such a powerful piece without having personally experienced
something similar. Nevertheless, throughout the poem, the speaker experiences tension between
letting go of and holding onto memories of the past, as shown through ... Show more content on

In the first half of the poem, the speaker mainly seems to be in mourning. However, in the sixth
stanza, the speaker suddenly shifts her tone, focusing on how she has grown from the painful
experience. In fact, the speaker claims to have learned to appreciate life without the aid of joy (24),
which suggests a greater will to live and be present mentally and physically. Despite her claims,
however, in the final stanza, the speaker acknowledges the rapturous pain of remembering and ends
the poem with a rhetorical question: How could I seek the empty world again? (32). This question
seems to resolve the tension between forgetting and remembering by insinuating that she would rather
live with the memories of the past, where she finds

Materialistic Items In The Great Gatsby
Materialistic possessions became the center of popularity in the 1920 s, life became all about who
could get the most Women and throw the biggest party. These materialistic items were used to acquire
other non materialistic things such as love and social status. These goals were often unattainable,
specifically for three characters in F. Scott Fitzgerald s , The Great Gatsby. Love and social status
were the unattainable dreams of Myrtle, the status driven cheater; Wilson, the shooter; and Gatsby; the
Daisy craving self made millionaire. Myrtle Wilson married George Wilson because she thought he
could provide for her. She wanted to be elite but George could not take her there. Myrtle and Mrs.

He married Myrtle in a tuxedo that he borrowed from a friends because he could not afford one of his
own. He seemed like a gentleman to Myrtle but she now thinks she was wrong about him. The only
crazy I was was when I married him (35). He could not make Myrtle happy because she regrets ever
marrying him. Nick describes The Valley of Ashes as we are introduced to it in the book. This is The
Valley of Ashes a fantastic farm where ashes grow like wheat into ridges and hills and grotesque
gardens. The Valley of Ashes is a place where life cannot exist. Wilson could never please Myrtle
because he lived in The Valley of Ashes, which is where dreams go to die. Tom and Nick go to visit
Myrtle in The Valley of Ashes. ...maybe I d better sell it somewhere else after all. I don t mean that
(25) Tom is threatening to take his business elsewhere after Wilson gets impatient for the car he is
buying. Wilson immediately apologizes because he needs that car, he has to make more money if he
wants to please Myrtle. Similar to Wilson, Gatsby wanted to please a Woman except he had to have all
of Daisy and he would not settle for anything

The water was taken from the same source and the same thermometer was used, yet different values
were derived each time. This is a type of environmental factor, which is a random error as it affected
the values differently. This error causes the rate of collisions to decrease or increase based on the
change in temperature, which in turn causes the rate of reaction to decrease or increase too. The
change in temperature was also affecting the reaction rate, causing the results to fluctuate because of
an added factor. One way to mitigate the source of error is to take more data on the temperature to
average as one constant temperature. This would avoid any additional factors affecting the reaction
rate, and completely isolate the relationship between the surface area and reaction

Migraine Informative Speech
IT IS NOT JUST A HEADACHE. 3
It Is Not Just a Headache.
An Informative Essay
As stated by Dr. Dawn Marcus (2013), If you have migraines, you know migraines can touch many
areas of your life. A Migraine is more than just a headache or a pain disorder―migraine can change
how your go about your day, how you feel about yourself, and how you interact with important people
in your life (p. 1).
According to Ellen Welch (20103), a migraine is a disorder thought to affect 2 15 percent of the world
s population (p. 45). Among those migraines is a condition called Hemiplegic Migraine. At the first
occurrence of this type of a migraine, even medical professionals mistake it for a full blown stroke.
There are many steps to successfully overcome the effects of a migraine. Test to eliminate major
medical issues are a series of test preformed to rule out any serious illness such as stroke, meningitis,
tumors, brain bleeds or inflammatory or infectious diseases.

Although it takes quite a lot of time to teach patients about their condition, it is well worth it for the
money that is saved by education but even more important the number or severity of the migraine
attacks can be reduced. Kennedy, Bonnie M. International Journal of Pharmaceutical Compounding;
Edmond 10.5 (Sep/Oct 2006): 344 350.
By learning the about the patient s condition and medication a family member is a great help to them
during severe migraines. The patient suffering from a Hemiplegic Migraine can become confused
during a severe attack and might require help in choosing which rescue medication he/she should take.
Learning about the condition helps the family member know what to expect during an attack, what
helps the patient get through the symptoms and what helps to relieve the pain the

Saving The Music Foundation
Saving the Music In the United States, a notably charitable nation, there are many organizations
created solely for the betterment of the human race. These groups serve a wide variety of purposes
ranging from helping the homeless to fighting disease. Some are large nonprofit companies making
sizable donations to a cause, while others are school clubs improving their communities a single step
at a time. However, many overlook these charities, having no understanding of their work. In fact,
many organizations provide only a small glimpse into the effects of their efforts. The VH1 Save the

next fall in New York City, where famous musical artists such as Mariah Carrey and Jason Derulo
have attended in past years ( What s Going On ). The gala is based on the Pay It Forward campaign,
with the organization describing the concept as, a good deed is done for you and, in return, you pass
that good deed forward to someone new ( What s Going On ). Anyone involved with this campaign
would be paying forward the benefits of music to countless communities across the United States,
furthering their effectiveness as an educator and increasing their contributions to music education
itself. But aside from benefiting the skills of its volunteers and setting up celebrity meetings, the VH1
Save the Music Foundation provides diligent workers with a sense of pride in knowing that they have
allowed young people a more well rounded education ( What s Going On ). The foundation even

There are different themes which were identified using qualitative techniques and theoretical models
were used to decipher the data acquired. 2.1. Cost Benefits: The main criterion for selecting possible
alternatives for travel was the reduction and efficiency in cost (Decorla souza et al, 1997). It was a
common theme which was addressed by all jobholders. The important aspect of this theme is to
identify the platform for effective optimization of alternatives to travel. 2.2. Accessibility: It is
important for all personnel to perform to their maximum level and getting access to technology
emerged to be an important aspect on possibilities for travel alternatives (Burrus , 2009). In cases
where people are working from home, they may find it hard to effectively transform the facilities and
atmosphere persisting in their workplace (Burrus , 2009). 2.3. Evolution Of Technology: It is
remarkable to think how much alternatives have been provided due to constant enhancements in
technology (Frary, M 2004). Video conferencing, audio conferencing, teleconferencing etc have made
it easier for people to work efficiently without having to go through the burden of a stressful business
travel (Chorus Bierlaire, 2013). All the aforementioned travel alternatives have become a viable form

Nuclear Waste Research Paper
Nuclear fuel has been providing energy to the world for around sixty years, and it is the second most
used energy source, first being fossil fuels. Nuclear energy is closely chained to the invention of the
atomic bomb and is in fact, nuclear fission and/or fusion. The problem with nuclear energy is that
while it can provide energy without air pollutants, there is nowhere to put the radioactive nuclear
waste. With the spent nuclear fuel, we currently dump it in places relatively far from people or we
reprocess it. However there is more to that than meets the eye. Dumping is not the best method for
dealing with nuclear waste, the best way is to reprocess the nuclear waste because it recovers a portion
of reusable energy that can be recycled back into the plant, recovers fuel that can be reused for other
purposes and also helps reduce the effects on the environment.
The reusable energy that is recovered may not feel like much, however once you reprocess tons and
tons of nuclear waste it adds up to an enormous amount of saved waste. When reprocessing the
nuclear waste, they add a variety of different substances at different times such as acids and oxidants,
this is necessary to separate the different levels of reactivity in the nuclear waste. Most of the energy
from the reprocessed plutonium is put back into the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

  • 2. Essay On The Week 1 After clicking the print button, the young researcher took his hand off the mouse and stretched, groaning as his back popped. Sighing in contentment, he looked at his partner who was similarly printing out the results of their tests. Miwa, you want to get a cup of coffee later? the researcher asked after Miwa retrieved both their papers. Sure, I ll treat you this time. Good work, my man, Miwa replied. So, what do you think about your first overnight shift here? I still can t believe I m working for Everworld right now! the researcher replied, suddenly energetic. His speaking quickened. That Everworld! Rochen is my god! Haha, you got that right. I was the same when I was first hired, Miwa said. It s almost time for Yoen to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It would be an affront to his ancestors if he didn t ask for an autograph... Rochen walked past him. The young researcher tucked the test results under his arm while he searched his pockets for a pen. Fishing one out, he turned and started toward his idol when Miwa grabbed his arm. What are you doing? Miwa hissed. The researcher frowned. I m getting an autograph! I can get you one too if you want, let go! Miwa s grip was tight and he shook his head. It s 16th of February today. It s not a good time. Maybe later? The young researcher s excitement drained away, quickly replaced by horror. He had been so happy over meeting his idol that he had forgotten that today was the anniversary of Rochen s wife s death. Rochen Rochmell had a wife named Lira who he had known since childhood. Unfortunately, Lira had died twelve years ago from a genetic disease. Rochen never remarried and visited Lira s grave every year on the 16th of February. If he had been so blunt to ask his idol for an autograph on a day as inauspicious as today, who knew how bad Rochen s opinion of him would be? Swallowing, the young researcher nodded and turned back, his footsteps quickening as he accompanied Miwa toward their supervisor s room. Rochen Rochwell whistled softly as he walked out of Everworld Headquarters. He reached into his pocket and pressed a button. The button read his fingerprints and issued a quiet beep of confirmation. Seconds later, a sleek gray car ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Bill Of Rights Is Outdated Some might say the Bill of Rights is outdated, since it was written back in 1789. I would like to show how it is as relevant today as when it was first penned. Some people believe the Bills of Rights are outdated and need to be modernized. Our Bill of Rights should not be altered and therefore should remain the same. These rights retain an important role in American society and outlines specific freedoms for all Americans. They are essential to preserving our individual rights while ensuring freedom for our future generations. The Bill of Rights is the name for the first ten Amendments of the United States Constitution. This limits the power of the U.S. Federal Government. Those limitations protect our natural God given rights and ensure no man or government will be able to obtain excessive power and infringe them. Some of these rights include freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, and our right to keep and bear arms. Our Founding Fathers wanted to name these particular rights to prevent citizens from being oppressed and to the limit the intrusion of the Government. The Bill of Rights should not be altered because it protects the citizens of America and it enumerates specific freedoms given to us in our Constitution. The Bill of Rights is somewhat like the Ten Commandments, which highlights specific guidelines which keeps our nation in check. Before we consider altering the Bill of Rights, we should first seek to evaluate and gain ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Batman Origin Although the Batman: Year one was released almost thirty years ago, it was one of the most popular, best known origins in popular culture because of its true character and raw chain of events: a young boy becomes scarred for life after he sees his family murdered in a dark alley by a quarrelsome mugger simply by chance. After years of training to be the greatest crime fighter in the world evolves the Batman, one of the greatest superheroes of all time and protector of Gotham City. Although there was one clear provenance when the original graphic novel was released, after two huge blockbuster movies, almost half a dozen animated series, a greatly popular video game, and multiple other comic book interpretations, that origin has been morphed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The mistake was not accounting for the impact first person narration had over placing the characters and narrative action within their proper context in the original comic. This mistake is vividly apparent in a scene where Batman is on one of his first adventures to fight crime in his costume where he attacks three teenagers that are in the middle of robbing an apartment. The scene does not have much action to it besides the rookie Batman almost throwing one of teens off a fire escape then saving him and fighting off the other two accomplices. After Batman defeats them and saves the other boy he lies on the ground for a bit and mentally scolds himself for being a lucky amateur . The scene in the original comic is much more different as Wayne s emotions, feelings, observations, the context of actions, and his pain are much more apparent. They are portrayed through Wayne s first person narration which is where most of the visual and mental content comes from in the scene, all of which is almost inexistent during the scene in the animated version. Instead of slowly uncovering something else Batman was feeling during that scene through his first person narration, all that was compressed and saved for when Wayne is on the ground scolding himself. The original scene was filled with emotional and narrative context and when compared to the brief scene from the movie, which still makes its point, the comic simply blows the movie out of the ... • 7. Native Americans in the United States and Squanto Essay Squanto Squanto is a Native American who lived in the early seventeenth century in what is now the Northeast United States. When the English came to this area of America to settle, they became very fond of Squanto and used him as a translator due to his unique knowledge of the English language acquired through an earlier voyage to Europe. Squanto helped the Pilgrims adapt to their new surroundings by providing them with the knowledge that he and his ancestors used to survive when they first settled in this area. Without Squanto s help, the Pilgrims would probably have had severe famine over the next year, and would have lived in constant fear of their indian neighbors (Johnson p.2); the English could not have survived without the knowledge that Squanto had given them. However, the friendly side of Squanto is traditionally the only one taught to the American public, in which he is portrayed as an extremely friendly Native American who devoted much of his time and effort to helping the European settlers adapt to their newly acquired land. It is true that Squanto was a great help to the English settlers, however many modern texts, articles, and essays concerning Squanto neglect to include his betrayal of many Native American tribes in what is now Connecticut and Long Island(Vine p. 201 ). Many elementary educated students are led to believe that Squanto simply saved the newcomers from starvation and [taught] the Pilgrims how to survive (David p. 24). This misconception of Squanto is the exact opposite of what many Natives thought of him(Vine p.201). ( William Faulkner s Nobel Prize Acceptance Speech ) It was not until 1949 and after his death when he was given the Nobel Prize in Literature that people began to acknowledge him and his works. This device helps him convey that people need to start writing about emotional conflicts with themselves because that alone can make good writing. He also uses a metaphor to compare the writing of something meaningful and important to something not when he states, He writes not of the heart but of the glands . This helps the effectiveness by comparing something major and meaningful such as the heart to something less meaningful and pity as a gland. These were effective by helping Faulkner relate to everyday situations and thing we are familiar in life therefore aiding him in connecting with his audience. Faulkner uses syntactical strategies throughout his speech to assist him in communicating his message to his audience. In the third paragraph he emphasizes a syntax device known as anaphora, when stating, He must learn them again... He much teach himself... He writes not of love...He writes not of the heart... .The anaphora helps Faulkner be effective in his argument by the repetition of words to help him get his view of things across to the audience. To also succor his effectiveness he uses polysyndeton, which is used to draw the audience s attention therefore adding the effect of persistence and intensity to help keep his audiences attention, making his speech effective. Although studies have found that there is no singular theory or understanding as to what the purpose of assessment is, there are different approaches and forms of assessment carried out in health and social care. If for any reason there was a change to the individuals needs or situation then a review would be carried out at an earlier date in order to address the change. Research was carried out by Smale et al (1993) which suggested three different models of assessment. One model was the Questioning Model which suggests that the assessor leads the process by questioning the individual and developing a more service led assessment. • 17. The Rings of Saturn by W.G. Sebald W.G. Sebald s novel The Rings of Saturn explores the relationship between toleration and persecution through a first person narrative. The novel is preoccupied with loss and the ways we have tried to come to terms with mortality. It is a meditation on the destructive nature of history, the human lives affected, and the restorative power of art. However, his work is not simply a record of these human induced catastrophes, but also attempts to fashion new representational tools for the purpose of acknowledging and coming to terms with the realities of modern human history. Sebald s critcism tends to focus on the biographical and psychological backgrounds of the writers he mentions. He draws heavily on the canon of twentieth century Marxist thought, including works from Theodor Adorno and Max Horkheimer. His complex thesis draws specifically on their work The Dialectic of Enlightenment. The Enlightenment was an intellectual movement that spread through Europe during the eighteenth century, which involved a radical change in the way that philosophers and others understood the role of reason. It valued independent thought and promoted reason to a higher status and for some came to replace faith. Intrinsic in Sebald s work is the idea that the Enlightenment project was programmed by violent distrusts of the non identical and a coercive desire to eliminate otherness. It is clear that the rising of movements like Rhodes Must Fall, has been a result of a wave of philosophies of Fanon and Biko who share a highly similar pedigree in their interests in the philosophical psychology of consciousness and desire for a decolonising of the mind (). Their ideologies have the interest of young South Africans. The essay will be done by looking into how the movement wants the university to be decolonised, the statue of Rhodes, alienation the students are experiencing, curriculum change, the university s lack of cultural space and representation of blacks, racism in the university and social/systematic exclusion of black students. In order to understand what the movement wants to achieve, it is relevant to provide a background of its insurgence. The Rhodes Must Fall Movement is a collective movement of students and staff members mobilizing for direct action against the reality of institutional racism at the University of Cape Town (The Johannesburg Salon, 2015:6) .The movement aims to advance black students interests by ending the oppression they experience in the university and achieving equality. • 20. Stuttering In The King s Speech The King s Speech (2010) follows King George VI, referred to as Bertie throughout the film, as he seeks stuttering treatment while managing his increasing responsibilities in the years preceding World War II. One of the ongoing thematic elements of The King s Speech was Bertie s on going struggle with his self confidence and self worth, especially as the looming responsibilities of kingship magnify his feelings of inadequacy. It was interesting to contrast Bertie s self perception to the manner in which his stuttering was perceived by those around him. In a few instances, Bertie mentions that his stuttering has always been particularly difficult when speaking with his father and older brother. In one of the few scenes with King George V, the King is seen as being extremely strict with Bertie. While he initially tries to encourage Bertie by stating public speaking is a matter of practice, this attempt at encouragement rapidly devolved into openly berating Bertie. Almost immediately upon sitting down, the King instructed Bertie to sit up straight, to get it out , and even at one point angrily tells his son to relax. A second scene involved Bertie stating that his brother, Edward, was prone to mocking his stuttering and was even encouraged to do so by their father. As adults, Edward resorts to mocking Bertie when faced with criticism. Given the negative attitudes of his family members towards his stuttering, it is understandable that these attitudes contributed so ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A landman (or woman) is a person whose job it is to secure leases on as large an area as possible and they are either employed by oil and gas companies or work independently. A lease in this context is a legal document or contract between a landowner who is the lessor and a company (or individual) who is the lessee that grants the lessee rights to exploration and development rights to potential subsurface mineral commodities. Today there is no standard oil and gas lease form. At one point the Producers 88 form was considered the standard form but today various oil and gas companies utilized several different types of lease forms as their starting point for negotiations. Generally their are two broad types of oil and gas lease forms based on the timing of the lease bonus payments. The most commonly used type is the Pay Up lease which no bonus payments are due after the signing of the lease, instead the lessor gets one hundred percent of the lease bonus money combined with annual rental payments up front. The other type is the Rental Lease that is not as commonly used in which the lease, can lapse if the rentals are not paid in a timely manner by the company which would ultimately result in the termination of ... Others such as the World System theory and Dependency theory, see education as an instrument used by the developed/core countries to penetrate western ideology and values into the developing/periphery or semi periphery countries as part of the process of exploitation, which worsens the condition of poverty so the poor remains poor. To be specific and explicit, the Modernisation theory emerged in the late 1950s claiming that to improve living standards, leaving poverty and backwardness behind, traditional societies or low income countries have to learn from and adapt to the values held by the modern western countries (Fagerlind Saha 1989; Matunhu 2011). The ideas of becoming modern are strongly associated with the promotion of Westernisation or colonisation as well as the development of dependency between rich and poor countries (Don 2001, p. 617 618). If we accept this premise, education was considered by this theory to be endowed with a pivotal role because of its ability to diffuse western values and knowledge. It was considered a great contribution to the economic productivity in the growth process, especially of developing countries (Arnove1980, p.48). (Leadership attitudes) Management (v/s) Leadership: In one of the articles Kent (2005, p1012) succinctly sums up the most commonly made distinctions between management and leadership with clear echoes of Drucker when he states: Managers do the things right; leaders do the right things; managing is an authority relationship; leading is an influence relationship; and managing creates stability; leading creates change . US President Truman famously had a motto on his desk during his period of office, which starkly outlined what makes the difference between a leader and manager: The buck stops here . Clegg et al (2005) expound in their work the interesting view that management, or rather good or successful management, should not be noticed. They consider that the clearest sign that a manager is doing an excellent job managing her team; she takes time off work and no one notices she s gone (Clegg et al,2005,p 233).It would seem that, whereas leadership is a high visibility, high profile role, that of a manager should be like the oil which keeps cogs turning, virtually invisible. The different strategies a Team leader adapts for depends upon the Task Orientation and Employee Orientation and can be best attributed by this exhibit.

Since no names are explicitly given, however, ambiguity surrounds the identity of the speaker and loved one. One interpretation is that the persona is Bronte herself, having lost her mother and sisters at a young age. Another interpretation is that the persona is simply a figure through which Bronte expresses the general experiences of love, loss, and memory. However, after reading the poem, it is hard to imagine someone crafting such a powerful piece without having personally experienced something similar. Nevertheless, throughout the poem, the speaker experiences tension between letting go of and holding onto memories of the past, as shown through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the first half of the poem, the speaker mainly seems to be in mourning. However, in the sixth stanza, the speaker suddenly shifts her tone, focusing on how she has grown from the painful experience. In fact, the speaker claims to have learned to appreciate life without the aid of joy (24), which suggests a greater will to live and be present mentally and physically. Despite her claims, however, in the final stanza, the speaker acknowledges the rapturous pain of remembering and ends the poem with a rhetorical question: How could I seek the empty world again? (32). This question seems to resolve the tension between forgetting and remembering by insinuating that she would rather live with the memories of the past, where she finds ... • 51. Nuclear Waste Research Paper Nuclear fuel has been providing energy to the world for around sixty years, and it is the second most used energy source, first being fossil fuels. Nuclear energy is closely chained to the invention of the atomic bomb and is in fact, nuclear fission and/or fusion. The problem with nuclear energy is that while it can provide energy without air pollutants, there is nowhere to put the radioactive nuclear waste. With the spent nuclear fuel, we currently dump it in places relatively far from people or we reprocess it. However there is more to that than meets the eye. Dumping is not the best method for dealing with nuclear waste, the best way is to reprocess the nuclear waste because it recovers a portion of reusable energy that can be recycled back into the plant, recovers fuel that can be reused for other purposes and also helps reduce the effects on the environment. The reusable energy that is recovered may not feel like much, however once you reprocess tons and tons of nuclear waste it adds up to an enormous amount of saved waste. When reprocessing the nuclear waste, they add a variety of different substances at different times such as acids and oxidants, this is necessary to separate the different levels of reactivity in the nuclear waste.
