Rape is a weapon used in history, and by the Serbs, to humiliate and destroy the lives of women and
their culture. The Serbs used it to make the women never want to come back to their homeland.

The killing had started due to the breaking up of Yugoslavia, which was filled with mixing ethnic

badges. Kings wear crowns. Symbols are used to categorize people into different social classes or
groups. In Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, those in leadership use tangible objects as symbols

In the opening of David Foster Wallace s speech, he talks about two young fish swimming past an

How Did I Grow Up In New York
I grew up in New York State, home of the city that never sleeps. This state is known for Manhattan or
the Big Apple, but that is only one of New York s five boroughs. Where in New York did I grow up?
Well, in New York there is a quaint borough called Staten Island. It is in Staten Island where I did just
that. My birth took place in Manhattan and I have lived on Staten Island ever since I had been released
from the hospital where I was born in. Staten Island is a lesser known part of New York State, filled
