Essay On Juan Peron And Eva Peron
Keely Guallpa
LTS 1003
17 October 2017
Juan and Eva Peron Seventy two years later and the effects of Peronism are still present in the
Argentinian society. The roots of Peronism can be traced back to Juan Peron, a military general and
later on the President of Argentina. Him, along with his wife Eva Peron, left an imprint on the
Argentinian society with their radical changes in politics involving government aid to the poor and the
minority. The legacy of Juan Peron started before he became president. In the early 1940s Peron
joined the United Officer s Group, a secret group formed in Argentina with the sole purpose of
overthrowing the current fraudulent government and placing one of their military generals in power.
Peron played a key role in this military coup and during Edelmiro Farrell s presidency, Peron became
the Minister of War, Secretary of Labour and Vice President. Peron s political ideology was formed
from his army training delegation in Germany and Italy. There, he was able to study the works of
Benito Mussolini and the fascist government. He immediately became fascinated with the fascist
government and the power Mussolini had over the people. Instead of trying to implement that sme
government in argentina, Peron sought ways to improve upon the mistakes of Mussolini s
government. Peron s political ideology should not be viewed as fascist but rather as Justicialism.
Justicialism involved aid to the working class while not becoming part of capitalism or

Reward Management Essay
Reward Management (RM) has been defined as the distribution of monetary and non monetary
rewards to employees in an effort to align the interests of the employees, the organisation, and its
shareholders (O Neil, 1998). In addition O Neil (1998) also suggests that a RM system can serve the
purpose of attracting prospective job applicants, retaining valuable employees, motivating employees,
ensuring legal requirements relating to direct and indirect rewards are not violated, assisting the
company in achieving human resource and business objectives, and ultimately assisting the
organisation in obtaining a competitive advantage.
Various conflicts in the RM system can affect the benefits that can be obtained. It has been argued that

Similarly, Cascio (1991) suggests that the combination of the following five requirements along with a
performance based pay system can also have a very significant impact on performance. The first of
these is skill variety, where a wide variety of tasks or procedures is available to the employee. Next is
task identity, where the employee can clearly identify the output of a task as a product of their efforts.
This is followed by task significance, where the work is recognised as important and meaningful.
After this comes autonomy, where the employees have a major say in work planning and execution.
The final requirement is feedback, where employees receive constructive advice or criticism on their
performance.
The rewards offered can be extrinsic such as wages, incentives and bonuses, or intrinsic such as job
satisfaction, an internal feeling of worth and a sense of well being on the job.
O Neil (1998) suggests six minimal criteria for the design of a performance based pay system. The
first of these criteria is that the reward system should be self funding, that is, the performance
increases should as a minimum offset the cost of the rewards provided. The second criterion is that the
distribution of the rewards must be consistent, fair and justifiable. In addition reward plans must be
transparent and clearly communicated. The third criterion

Perception Is A Important Process For Human Beings
Countless data pass through our minds every single moment. Consider about height, colour, size and
even message from actual language or body language, those are information we perceive everyday as
usual. Perception is a very important process for human beings because it is a process that allow us to
experience any data around us such as smell, touch, taste, temperature and so on. (Otara, 2011) As we
perceive things, we collect data, we analyse it and interpret data in our minds in order to give the
reaction back. However, sometimes we might face some situation that we think we already have a
conclusion or outcome to some cases or some particular situations in our mind without receiving all of
the information first. This cognitive process is called bias which means the process of using shortcut
to see the outcome based on personal preferences without using all of information. This is not
unfamiliar process to human beings because this process used to help us in order to survive through
many eras. (Ross, 2011) For instance, you see a black shadow diving to your head so, you duck your
head to avoid it. After that, you see that it s just a bird. (Ross, 2008) Before you duck your head, you
didn t look at it well enough that means you didn t use all of information before react to the situation
also you might face with these experiences before so you know it is safe to avoid at first. However,
your bias is still useful because what if it s not a bird but a heavy object? You could

The Effects of Television Violence on America Essay
America has the highest crime rate in the world. Along with that crime rate is also the very high
violence rate. Why is violence becoming and everyday event in our society? When you flip on the
television and tune into the news, the highlight of every show is somehow directly related or
connected to violence. We see it every evening and perhaps say Oh my gosh and then forget all about
it two minutes later. Or perhaps we don t even make any comments at all, just a simple grunt or Oh,
how terrible . This numbness to violence is very scary and real. It makes you blind to the fact, that
America has the most crime and violence. Why not Switzerland or Australia? Are we not as civilized
and advanced as they are? I believe it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They need to learn to talk out and solve any disagreements or problems through other means than
violence. They must not know violence as an answer, as if violence was never even an option to
consider in solving a problem. I recently became aware of the problem of violence in children when I
started observing my child at play at my apartment complex. I had watched my daughter play with
many children and never really noticed nothing violent nor aggressive about her. However as she gets
older and more interested in television she is becoming, much more aggressive especially as she plays
outside with her friends. She would punch and copy the moves of the cartoon shows she watched even
to the point of copying their war cries and sayings. The media claims that they have no influence on
children, that could not be further from the truth. Children are the easiest to manipulate and take
advantage of because they are innocent and because they are innocent they are also ignorant. The main
problem was the television shows that she was watching. That is very obvious. The problem was not
just television itself but the combination of television and child. Children are very susceptible and
easily persuaded as we all know. In the early 1960 s, Albert Bandura of Stanford was the first to
present the theory that children not only learned from their parents through imitation but also through

The new rules of modern day baseball involved the ability to steal bases, how the fields were built,
and how many players are allowed on one team in the MLB. Bat sizes along with pitchers mounds
have been changed as well for new requirements in the MLB. The new rules also allowed a batter to
take a free base when hit by a pitch, or when taken four balls out of the strike zone. Many changes
have been changed since starting the game until todays game, such as, instead of a team winning when
one side scored twenty one aces, a team today wins by scoring the most runs through nine innings of
baseball. In 1858, strikes were introduced and now batters could get called out on strikes. In 1863 the
bat size regulation was introduced, someone had to have a required size bat to play. Batting averages
were introduced in 1865 along with the batter being able to call a low or high pitch in 1867. The most
recent rule was in 2008 when the MLB added limited instant reply to be in affect for all games, this
started August 29, 2008. In todays baseball, there are rules in which a limited amount of players can
be on a team, and all the extra players go to either free agency or go to double AA or triple AAA. The
save rule was finally changed in 1975 along with the suspension of players using bats that are filled,
flattened, or doctored. There have been many Home Run leaders throughout the years of Baseball. The
leaders have hit many home runs to be in this group, some have hit as

Adolf Hitler And Martin Luther Of Germany
Topic: Can we obtain a peaceful, ordered life? Should we even bother trying? If so, how?
Adolf Hitler of Germany: Martin Luther of Germany:
Argument: No it is impossible. Argument: Yes it is possible.
Today we have two great and influential people debating an incredibly controversial topic. Adolf
Hitler and Martin Luther are both German citizens during a time of conflict, however that is where the
similarities end. Luther, who was born in 1483 lived in a very different world from Hither. To Luther,
the conflict was focused primarily around religion and basic human rights. These conflicts resulted in
small scale battles and wars. Hitler s conflict was based on power and control. Religion was no longer
the most controversial subject. This conflict, combined with modern weaponry and tactics, produced
an incredibly deadly war: World War II. Luther was best known for being outspoken against the
corrupt Catholic church. Hitler was best known for murdering six million Jews. Both influential
people have interesting opinions to share on peace.
Argument of Martin Luther Indeed, it is possible to achieve a peaceful and orderly life. A peaceful and
orderly life can be achieved by learning obedience and fear of god through Lutheranism. This life can
only be rendered if some elemental requirements are fulfilled. The first of these requirements is that
there must be a general, universal, feeling of happiness. Secondly, there must be a widely practiced
goal that can be worked towards

Benefits Of Genetically Modified Organisms ( Gmos ) Essay
Life on earth began approximately 3.5 billion years ago and, since the rapid diversification of most
major living phyla (known as The Cambrian Explosion), evolution has given rise to an extraordinarily
diverse range of life forms. Evolution has resulted in various species with a wide range of traits, each
with the potential to be utilized by human kind. By modifying these organisms through cross breeding
and artificial selection to create crops with desirable traits, the agriculture industry has found a way to
produce essential food crops and a way to feed the world .
In the 1970s, Morrow et al. developed a technique that allowed them to cut DNA from one organism
and splice it with the DNA of another and thus modern biotechnology was born. Today, it is possible
to sidestep the relatively slow process of evolution by modifying genes of plants and animals in the
lab. Presently, such modifications allow for pest and herbicide resistance; faster crop production; more
nutritious food sources; and even disease resistance .
Despite these purported benefits of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs), there is considerable
debate surrounding their use. In the public sphere, beliefs concerning GMO tend to be dominated by
two markedly opposing narratives and it seems that one can only be in one of two camps:
I. Critics of GMO: Arguing that the use of GMO is not justified as it is unnatural, unsafe, and may
have long term environmental impacts.
II. Advocates of GMO: Arguing that

Both schools are great school, but each has very different Rec Sports and facilities. Just by looking at
the pictures from both facilities, I would say that they are really nice and up to date. So I will compare
and contrast Texas A M to Ohio State University.
The first university that I will talk about is Texas A M, who has over 12,000 students who participate
each year. They also have over 34 different programs that students can do for free. Intramural sports is
a big part of any university. Texas has over 12,000 students that participate in intramural sports. If you

The British Renaissance Produced Many Types of Literature and Was Influenced By
Shakespeare, Marlow, and Spenser
The British Renaissance produced many types of literature for the world to see. Shakespeare, Spenser,
and Marlowe all contributed to the shaping of the time period. Christopher Marlowe s quot; The
Passionate Shepherd to His Love quot; portrays one of the typical love poems that can be seen from
the Renaissance. A man is in search of the love of another girl, or woman. Sir Walter Raleigh wrote a
poem in response to this passage of Marlowe s entitled quot; The Nymph s
Reply to the Shepherd. quot; Although the name of the girl is not stated anywhere in the former poem,
Raleigh decided to use a wood nymph as his subject. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His age also brings up another very interesting view of Marlowe s. In the poem, Marlowe expresses
the idea that age has no influence upon love and a person s feelings.
The shallow rivers, waterfalls, birds singing, and flowers all personify the
Shepherd s feeling that age has nothing to do with love and his hopes of winning the younger girl s
heart. The scene that is created is highly discernible as
Spring, the time of year associated with love and light heartedness. The allusions to these things also
demonstrates the Shepherd s hollow sense of hope.
The Shepherd tries to lure the girl by offering her everything in the world.
This materialism clearly shows that Marlowe believes that only fancy trinkets and beautiful
possessions will win the heart of a girl. In virtually every stanza, there is a reference to a nicety that
the Shepherd offers the girl in pursuitof her love.
A belt of straw and ivy buds,
With coral clasps and amber studs;
Christopher Marlowe s Shepherd clearly believes that the only surefire way of attaining love would be
to offer as much as you can and lure your subject into a false sense of being loved by giving her (or
him) the world.
The world means nothing to Sir Walter Raleigh s Nymph, the girl Raleigh presumes to be the object of
the Shepherd s pleas, in his poem entitled quot; The
Nymph s Reply to the Shepherd quot; in direct response to Christopher Marlowe. The beautiful forest
creature is young compared to the elderly

The Era Of The Renaissance
Italy can be looked at as the home of the renaissance and consequently the immergence of great art.
Artists such as Michelangelo, Botticelli, Da Vinci, and Raphael are some of the greats and are looked
at for standards. But what about the artists whose lives are mysteries, and their works that were
influenced by the greats? These artists hold just as much importance in the history of art as do the
artist s whose names can be recalled off the top of an average person s head. During the sixteenth
century things began to change in the art world, and that change was the Baroque. This new style of
art brought a revolution to how subject matter was painted, it brought upon ... a radical reconsideration
of art and its purposes... (249) and how artists of all ranks could learn to paint the up and coming style
of Baroque.
Renaissance art created standards and principles that every painting and artist had to utilize in order to
even be considered good, let alone great. Characteristics such as the phenomenon of natural light, one
point and linear perspective, and highly idealized religious or mythological figures changed into the
Baroque techniques of manipulating light to create emphasis, dramatizing the illustrated allegory, and
unidealized realism. Additionally, ... the Baroque trend dominated and gave its name to the age... [but
it was the presence of both styles] that give the Italian seventeenth century its richness and diversity.

A very interesting, and somewhat strange mammal, the platypus. The platypus is a mammal thats
structure is built like an otter, the tail is like a beaver, and the beak is like a duck. It s almost as if the

The common mammal, gives birth by pushing out the baby, like humans. Humans and other animals
with hair or fur, like cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, wolves, foxes, and many others give birth by
pushing out their babies one by one. The platypus is more unique than other mammals.
A platypus gives birth like chickens, ducks, and many other birds. That s right, they lay eggs.
However, unlike birds, the platypus has hair. If an animal has hair, it means they are a mammal.
Like other mammals, the platypus lives for approximately 17 years. They get 14 hours of sleep and the

Stereotypes In A Doll s House
A man standing in front of a tank in Tiananmen Square, a second plane crashing into the World Trade
center, a group of soldiers raising the American flag at Iwo Jima, all have one thing in common, they
are all recognizable images captured in time through photography. Photography has challenged what
was achievable numerous times, and now it is one of the greatest influential mediums of the modern
society. Photography has advanced tremendously over time. At the beginning a person needed to stay
still for several minutes for a colorless black and white image. Moving was never allowed permitted,
for it would distort the image and result in it bury. Eventually, it would advance so that with only one
flash, a person could see an image of that time. But still, it was black and white and, if a person
moved, the image would come out blurry. Over time, the fluidity of what a camera can do and can
now accomplish, have changed. This is tantamount to how challenges to uprooting the traditional the
roles of women have led to changes and advancements in modern time. Henrik Ibsen s 1879 play, A

By 1852. the United States had been trading in the Orient for several years. President Millard Fillmore
sent Perry to Japan to open diplomatic and trade relations. He was resilient in his negotiations with
Japan and would not take no for an answer. On July 2, 1853, Perry arrived in Tokyo Bay. He
threatened to bring the President s message by force if necessary. On July 14, steam frigates

proceeded to the council house with special escort and pomp and presented his documents personally
to Princes Iduzu and Iwami and was given receipt of delivery. Perry left after three days he left and

Japanese people were more receptive and cordial. They exchange gifts and entertainment and the

Sociology 2XX
Critically anlayse a popular culture text utlising relevant theories and debates
In sociological theory there are many concepts discussed that are utilized in the analyses of society
and culture. Some of the main concepts are Postmodernism, Historical Materialism, Structuralism,
Interpretive Sociology and Poststructuralism to name a few. These theories are relevant to the research
of understanding certain or specific cultural texts. These concepts provide problems and solutions
associated with some of the research approaches fore mentioned. Analysing the main dimensions will
be covered by discussing the appropriate concepts separately and by individually contrasting the
classical and modern theories with Quentin ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dialectical materialism is the view that that the world exists independently of our perception of it and
that as it is sole reality it has primacy over the ideal, the imagined, and the spiritual.
In the film Pulp Fiction, by Quentin Tarantino the theme of capitalism was truly apparent, from the
discussion of the Big Mac in France by Jules and Vince to the success of the gang boss Marsellus. It is
relatively evident that it played a big part in making the film especially where other more obvious
displays of greed and capitalism are in the final scenes when the couple, Honey Bunny and Pumpkin,
holds up the restaurant. The man explains to his wife that nobody ever thinks to rob a coffee shop and
he makes the point that it is the perfect crime of opportunity. All of the primary and characters and
protagonists display materialistic personas, attempting to recreate their own past and future by means
of consumption and a form of class struggle against the gang leader, portraying a land owner or
bourgeoisie, by the workers .
Postmodernism is a term which is highly contested in the sociological world, where it is used to
indicate a significant detachment from modernism. It is easier to give the uses of the term; to give a
name to the present historical period, to name a specific style in arts and architecture and to name a
point of rupture or disjuncture in epistemology (Buchanan, 2010). For this,

The Aeneid-the Role of Fate
Fate is the essential idea of The Aeneid, but more importantly, the underlying force throughout the
text. Fate cannot be changed; it is the set of events with the inevitable result. Virgil uses the idea of
fate to narrate and advance through his epic poem, but perhaps also to illustrate that the gods had
originally intended for Rome to become a great and powerful empire. The king of gods, Jupiter, has
chosen Aeneas and his preordained path to destiny, by leading the Trojans and creating the
foundations for the Roman Empire. However, a variety of gods interfere with Aeneas s direction of
fate in order to satisfy their own desires, only to discover that Aeneas s fate can be manipulated, but
never overturned.

Perhaps the most significant example of the importance of fate in The Aeneid happens in Book VI; the
golden branch. Aeneas and his fleet arrive on the coast on Cumae in search of the Sibyl at the Temple
of Apollo. Following his father s instructions, Aeneas asks the Sibyl to gain him entrance to Dis so he
may visit his father s spirit. However, in order to enter Dis with any possibility of returning, Aeneas
must first locate a sign to gain him access across the Acheron River. The Sibyl then explains to Aeneas
that the sign is a golden branch in a nearby forest, if the branch breaks off the tree easily then fate
awards Aeneas a pass into the underworld. If the branch does not break off then Aeneas is not destined
to go.
A bough is hidden in a shady tree; its leaves and pliant stem are golden, set aside as sacred to
Proserpina. The grove serves as its screen, and shades enclose the bough in darkened valleys. Only he
may pass beneath earth s secret space who first plucks the golden leaved fruit of that tree. Lovely
Proserpina ordained that this be offered her as gift. And when the first bough is torn off, a second
grows again with leaves of gold, again of that same metal. So let your eyes search overhead; and when
the bough is found, then pluck it down by hand as due: for if the Fates have summoned you, the bough
will break off freely, easily; but otherwise, no power can overcome it, hard iron cannot help

Use of Technology in Election Campaigns

Social media
Social media played a vital role in 2008 U.S. President Elections. Using of Social networking websites
like Facebook, Twitter, You tube was adapted by the political parties and influenced them to use social
media in order to reach people effectively in U.S.
Presidential Elections in 2008 has changed the way of campaigning and expressing effectively. Digital
technology allowed leaders to interact with voters, transforming the campaigning totally into a new
level. Both the lead contenders Barack Obama and John McCain engaged with people by using Social
media. But there were many apparent discrepancies between Obama s use and his opposition use of
social media as their medium to communicate with people.
Obama s use of Social media in 2008 election campaign can be compared to former President John F.
Kennedy s use of television. Besides using email and website, Obama focused on Social Media to
activate the young voters. His extensive use of Social Media appeared to be the major factor in his
victory over John McCain in 2008. Obama had 2 million Facebook friends while McCain had only
600,000. Obama spent millions on advertising in Facebook and Google to grab attention of voters
whereas, McCain used television advertisements. Obama focused on Social media sites to pass on the
information to the millions of volunteers and to get the donations, the campaign used Social
networking sites to connect with voters and supporters. Obama

The Ama Code Of Medical Ethics
Informed consent is defined as permission granted in the knowledge of the possible consequences and
is the backbone to honorable physician patient interactions. Unfortunately, throughout history there
have been many cases where physicians have used a patient s lower socioeconomic status to
manipulate the obtaining of informed consent. The AMA Code of Medical Ethics predates back to
1847, yet cases continue to arise directly breaking their key principles. These principles include
autonomy, justice, beneficence, non maleficence; and if followed ensure patients receive a high
quality of care. Informed consent prior to any participation in experiments or procedures is essential
for physicians to act within these guidelines. Autonomy allows patients to have free will and make
decisions without coercion. Justice keeps all individuals in mind so resources are distributed fairly and
all individuals are treated the same. Beneficence and Non maleficence focus on the intent of the
procedure to do only good and no harm. Even with these principles established there are discrepancies
in on how they unfold in a clinical setting. The American Medical Association states physicians
should assess their patient s understanding of their medical condition, the recommended treatments,
and document the physician patient interaction. The Tuskegee, Abdullah vs Pfizer, and The Skid Row

Prince Of A Town Called Bel Air
Prince of a Town Called Bel Air
Now this is a story all about how my life got flipped, turned upside down, and I d like to take a
minute, just sit right here, I ll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel Air (Smith). Many
90s kids memorized this opening to the hit television show The Fresh Prince of Bel Air . Sometimes
you can t help but rap the words and visualize Will Smith spinning in front of a graffiti background.
Will Smith stars in the show as a fictionalized version of himself. The theme song sets the premise for
the entire show. Smith was a street smart, African American teenager born in West Philadelphia.
However, while playing basketball, he got in a confrontation with a group of men. This frightened his
mother, who sent him to Bel Air to live with his wealthy aunt and uncle. Smith grew up in a working
class environment and is now exposed to an upper class world. This is a theme around which many of
the show s plots revolve. The effect of the lyrics to this theme song goes beyond pure entertainment
value. Smith is hyper aware that he is combatting the prevalent television representation, at the time,
of young black males as thugs. Through this 90s comical theme song, Smith, who was born and raised
in West Philadelphia himself, confirms the stereotype of the urban, black, young thug and complicates
that stereotype by depicting himself as nothing like that.
As an appeal to ethos, Smith is initially portrayed as a person with good sense, good moral

The Life Of The Dry Hot Desert
The heat here was unbearable. The dry hot desert was slowly taking over all our land. Once the
beautiful plant we has was drying up. I have lived on this planet since the day I was born. I am
currently 102 years old, some people call me a wise, others call me Athena. Our planet was at
complete peace, everyone got along, we enjoyed each other s company, the land was beautiful, until
now. My fellow friends and I can t stand this planet any longer. We are of living here, were running
out of resources and we don t know how much longer we may survive. There had been talk of
explorations to find another solution to escape this terrible heat, but nothing came out of it. Rumors of
the some of our richest friends here were disappearing in bunkers built below the red ground and it
was gaining lots of attention. This was creating a chaos among the other aliens trying to survive. Many
even talked of a new planet far away that had lots of soil, water, and air with cool and warm
temperatures for everyone to live happily. But it all looked like now was a science fiction story. As I
stood on oxidized iron dust and rocks beneath my feet, I stared into the sky as questions pondered in
my head. Would there be planets like ours out there? With living aliens like us? With mountains and
rivers like we use to have? We have sent so many electronic messages across the universe for years
and have never received any response yet. In addition to the many coded

The colors used in the painting are complementary with orange, blue and green dominating over the
color pattern.
Surrounding the image of Shantarakshita, who is the central image of what is essentially a mandala
composition, are detailed scenes depicting how the eminent teacher brought the teachings of the
Buddha to Tibet and helped to establish the Himalayan nation s first Buddhist monastery. The eye
remains drawn to Shantarakshita, as the artist intends to praise Shantarakshita as the one who firmly
established Buddhism in the hearts, minds, souls, and daily lives of Tibetans. Portrayed in a rich color
palette containing saturated blues, reds, greens, and oranges, there is no remaining white space on the
canvas. The lowest portion of the composition is more cluttered than the uppermost portion, serving a
symbolic function. The artist contrasts the ordinary world of the human mind and society with the
transcendent world of enlightenment. The blue halo surrounding Shantarakshita leads the eye up,
through a lotus blossom, towards the two figures above him: Shakyamuni Buddha to the right and
Shantarakshita s own teacher to the left ( Historical Narrative: Shantarakshita ).
Although it is permanently on display in a Tibetan temple, the Drowa Sangmo Mural depicts more of
an ordinary scene than the portrait of Shantarakshita. However, it is entirely mundane in Tibetan
society. The Drowa Sangmo

is based on a true story of a Nigerian doctor named Dr. Bennet Omalu who is played by Will Smith.

parts of the movie was out of context and confusing. Especially the actor expressions and feelings

Self Identity In The Gospel Of Jew
The Gospel of Matthew, at least in its final form, is dated in the 80s AD and was possibly written in
Treasures New and Old (9: The Good News of Jesus) 2015 Syria. It gives us insights into the painful
transition from Judaism to early Christianity, including a growing number of Gentiles. Matthew s
community faces the problem of self identity Who are we? Where do we belong? Jewish Christians
discussed among themselves what it means to follow Jesus, the Christ, and yet remain Jewish. Could
these two things be reconciled? Evidence of this dilemma occurs in those texts that describe the
arguments that Jesus had with members of the Pharisaic group. The Pharisees were a reforming group
within Judaism. They were sincere and genuinely concerned

It is easy to presume that that person is in the position they are in because of money, connections or an
extraordinary intellect. We may suppose that any adversity or problems that this type of person has
encountered are on another level to those that we face. Perhaps we don t imagine that there were
private obstacles to overcome, personality traits that needed adjustment or adaptation, that private
insecurities or personal failings had to be surmounted. It is simplest to assume that the role of
leadership was cut out for him/her alone. More often than not, one imagines that the leader in an

A Brief Note On Automated Idiocy And Technology
Automated Idiocy
Technology has become an every expanding subject and material ever since its first introduction to the
world. The largest expansion and introduction of new technology has been in the last decade.
Companies and organizations are replacing employees with technology. It can be seen and heard
throughout major and minor companies and organizations throughout the United States. A prime
example of technology changing an entire market is within the travel agency field. Before the Internet
and new technology, if one wanted to book a trip or flight they would have to go into a physical store
and talk with a human that would do all the paperwork necessary to purchase a trip. Nowadays those
stores have completely disappeared. What was once a store found in every shopping center is now
only find in a handful of cities through the United States. The physical stores have turned into
websites found on the World Wide Web and the humans have turned into software programs.
Challenges of Technology Service organizations are seeking a competitive edge by using new
technology assisted services for their customers; however, these technologies can backfire onto the
company with high costs to run the technology, challenges of the new technology and embarrassing
fails of the technology. One of the challenges of using technology to manage customer interfaces is
automated idiocy. Just as the phrase lays out, automated idiocy is the rush to automate service
functions often leads

The Effect Of Hieroglyphics On The Rosetta Stone
Arguably one of the most important discoveries made regarding the historical and cultural study of
ancient Egypt is the translation of the writing form known as hieroglyphics. This language, lost for
thousands of years, formed a tantalizing challenge to a young Jean François who committed his life to
its translation. Scholars such as Sylvestre de Sacy had attempted to translate the Rosetta Stone before
Champollion, but after painstaking and unfruitful work, they abandoned it (Giblin 32). Champollion s
breakthrough with hieroglyphics on the Rosetta Stone opened up new possibilities to study and
understand ancient Egypt like never before, and modern Egyptology was born.

Although he was able to find them, he was not able to decipher an alphabetical system that applied to
the rest of the text. It seemed that the other symbols represented things, not letters. Having reached a
dead end in his work, he gave up, saying, The problem is too complicated, scientifically insoluble
(Giblin 32). A few others continued after him with the same idea of a solely alphabetical system, but
they all came to the same dead end and were not able to make any progress.
One of the first scholars to make any real headway on the translation was Thomas Young, a British
polymath (Silet 1). Being a polymath and not understanding any of the language to begin with, Young
meticulously inspected the stone, looking for recurring patterns and recording the number of times
each symbol was repeated (Meyerson 123). Young knew that Ptolemys were Greek, so he assumed
that the name Ptolemaios, spelled in the Greek style, would appear spelled the same way in the
hieroglyphic section. Indeed he did find several times the cartouche containing what he believed to
spell Ptolemaios (Giblet 40). He misunderstood a few of the symbols meanings, and it was later
discovered that the Egyptian spelling was Ptolmis, but Young had taken the first major steps into
translating the hieroglyphics (Giblet 41).
The next step, and arguably the whole rest of the project, was

Vincent Van Gogh s The Starry Night

The different shapes throughout the painting like the stars and the houses as well as the colors
expressed in the sky and in the dark hillsides and the texture of the rich and thick strokes in the
painting create these Art Principles. Unity is shown in the painting as all the elements belong together
and fit with one another to create a harmonious whole. The bright yellow blue night sky is filled with
stars and movement around it which guides the viewer s eyes in the same movement as the lines go
not only in the sky but in the hills. The hills are moving upward and then downwards onto the brightly
lit buildings repeating harmoniously in the painting. The variety of the orange color is seen in the stars
and moon and in some of the houses represented as a light. Patterns are seen in the skylines and stars
as they move across. Asymmetrical balance is seen in the work of art because even with the patterns,
the right and left sides are not the same because of the different and variety of elements that balance
together based on their meaning. The large moon in the painting is where you look at the longest
because of its size which draws attention to the stars around it balance it. The small yellow stars
balance out the dark and large blue sky because the warm dark blue color is heavier than the cool
yellow color. The focal point of the painting would be attention grabber which is the big moon
position in the top right corner with its bright colors of orange yellow and its big size to call attention
to it. The stars in the midnight blue sky show the subordination of the painting since there is lesser
interest in those areas. Eyes are drawn from left to right in direction to the focal point of the painting

Permit Me To Introduce Myself As An American Citizen
Permit me to introduce myself. I am an American citizen, a retired military member with twenty three
years honorable service to this country. I am a patriot, a husband, a father, and a grandfather. I have no
political aspirations nor do I want any notoriety. I just want to get America back. I want her to be
strong and healthy. I want her to resume her leadership role in the world. Every day when I put on my
uniform, I put my life on the line. I swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United
States against all enemies foreign and domestic. I have never broken that oath nor will I ever. I have
kept the faith with my brother Marines and sister services to defend this country at all costs.
I am writing this because I am fearful about the future of our country. The path the current
administration has chosen. Yet my fears go much farther back in 20th century history. The lack of
attention being paid to our Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. I am very concerned about the
corruption in Washington D.C. from our elected officials who are supposed to represent US not
himself or herself or a party.
Let me get to the subject.
Having been born ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Our parents as I have said many times were the nation s greatest generation. They worked hard,
sacrificed and built the good life for them and for us. I know my mother and dad did. So what went
wrong? How did this generation lose its way? Suffice it to say many books have been written on the
subject. For the sake of brevity, I will summarize what is common knowledge. Over indulgence,
permissiveness, failure to make our children accountable for their own actions and humanism are all
big factors. A falling away from God, lack of discipline and the attitude of If it feels good do it also

Examples Of Exegetical Fallacies
Your post on Exegetical Fallacies was insightful and thought provoking. Before learning Greek,
hearing preachers use Greek words throughout their sermons fascinated me, and that pushed me to do
more research and learn. As time moved on, I felt inclined to include Greek in my sermons especially
after Greek I. It seemed easy to research a passage, throw out a few Greek words, and move on. After
studying Greek further, I discovered that most preachers were misinterpreting and misapplying Greek
words within their sermons. I have to agree that often times, even now; I may find myself guilty of
some of Carson s fallacies. Your example of the disciples and apostles misinterpretation shows how
important it is to determine the true meaning in the correct

The Consequences Of Julius Jones And The Jonestown Massacre
All across America, television sets display nine hundred and nine dead bodies. These bodies, in
aluminum coffins, came over to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware. Tax payers were irate at possibly
having to pay for all the embalming and burial costs ( The Horror, 28). Embalming and burial costs
are expensive and many people lost sympathy for cult members. So, people opposed paying for the
consequences of the Jonestown massacre.
Jim Jones realized he was losing control over the People s Temple, leading to the Jonestown massacre.
Then in 1975, he uprooted his followers and isolated them in Jonestown, Guyana. Jones began
instructing his followers to commit a revolutionary suicide (Twemlow 224). The People s Temple s
actions concerned many family members and outsiders, which sparked Congressman Leo Ryan s
involvement. Congressman Leo Ryan and some reporters were on a mission to rescue Americans from
Jonestown. On November 18, 1978, Jim Jones was paranoid that his reign over Jonestown would
come crashing down when some of his followers went with Congressman Ryan. Jones used a mass
suicide to remain in control. Many people of Jonestown drank the poisonous Kool Aid. When people
resisted, Jones loyal followers injected hesitant followers with the poison. Jones ordered the murder of
Congressman Ryan and was responsible for the deaths of nine hundred and nine Americans. Jim Jones
constructed the Jonestown massacre by advertising false promises, instilling fear, and blackmailing his

Summary Of The Beginning Of A Long Poem On Why I Burned...
What is something society does that makes you hate? Many people have the tendency to either reveal
their emotions externally to the public or keep their emotions wrapped inside. The poem, The
Beginning of a Long Poem on Why I Burned the City by Lawrence Benford and Jimmy the Terrorist
by Omar Ahmed reveal the effects of racism in society and how one may handle the situation. In
comparing, Benford and Ahmed reveal the effects of one s experiences of injustice which can later
follow into adulthood and the two ways it is handled. In the poem, The Beginning of a Long Poem on
Why I Burned the City , the speaker [grows] up in hate [that] [bubbles] in the back streets (2 3).
Already at a young age the speaker knows being black living in his city, hate surrounds him. The
hatred continues where [he] shined shoes with [his] teeth , proving the city uses him as an object
rather than a person leading up to his anger (6,7). Unable to defend himself or do anything at all
because talking back would result in consequences, bringing attention to him and his family. While in
Jimmy the Terrorist , during Jamaal s growing, his choice of the name Jimmy the Terrorist had a
peculiar reason. The violence of the last decade...knowing the face of [his] death at the age of fifteen ,
as this was India, where not much your right or privilege, but a part of your identity (2,4). Jamaal s
facing of obstacles continues as his eyes are filled with fear because he knows his life will end.

Alexander The Caribou Is Drinking Out Of The Warm Arctic...
Alexander the caribou is drinking out of the warm arctic ocean with his friends; Owen, and Joshua. It
has been a relatively warm winter month with little snowfall so far this year, then all of a sudden, the
ice cracks separating Alexander from his friends slowly drifting away into the ocean. He attempts to
swim back, but does not make it. In 2002, the George River Caribou Herd (GRCH) population was
between 800,000 900,000 animals but by 2014 the population of caribou was decreased to 14,200
GRCH, in northern Canada. While at first it may appear that animal decline and animal population
loss in Canada/ the northern hemisphere, due to carbon emissions, is not as serious as it seems, but a
closer look reveals that carbon emissions from factories, cars, trains, etc. are a cause of global
warming and that the reduction of private transportation would be a quick efficient solution. By
forcing businesses to pay taxes and restrict the amount of carbon output and the general public to use
less private, and more public transportation, the Earth temperature raising would decline. As a result,
this solution would not only stop the destruction of the animal s; habitats, allowing the population
decline to stop, but also stop all the other effects of global warming, such as worse air qualities, higher
temperatures, and sea levels rising across the world. In Canada and the northern hemisphere of the
world the arctic is melting creating more water than there has ever been in this region of

  • 3. Essay On Juan Peron And Eva Peron Keely Guallpa LTS 1003 17 October 2017 Juan and Eva Peron Seventy two years later and the effects of Peronism are still present in the Argentinian society. The roots of Peronism can be traced back to Juan Peron, a military general and later on the President of Argentina. Him, along with his wife Eva Peron, left an imprint on the Argentinian society with their radical changes in politics involving government aid to the poor and the minority. The legacy of Juan Peron started before he became president. In the early 1940s Peron joined the United Officer s Group, a secret group formed in Argentina with the sole purpose of overthrowing the current fraudulent government and placing one of their military generals in power. Peron played a key role in this military coup and during Edelmiro Farrell s presidency, Peron became the Minister of War, Secretary of Labour and Vice President. Peron s political ideology was formed from his army training delegation in Germany and Italy. There, he was able to study the works of Benito Mussolini and the fascist government. He immediately became fascinated with the fascist government and the power Mussolini had over the people. Instead of trying to implement that sme government in argentina, Peron sought ways to improve upon the mistakes of Mussolini s government. Peron s political ideology should not be viewed as fascist but rather as Justicialism. Justicialism involved aid to the working class while not becoming part of capitalism or ... Reward Management Essay Reward Management (RM) has been defined as the distribution of monetary and non monetary rewards to employees in an effort to align the interests of the employees, the organisation, and its shareholders (O Neil, 1998). In addition O Neil (1998) also suggests that a RM system can serve the purpose of attracting prospective job applicants, retaining valuable employees, motivating employees, ensuring legal requirements relating to direct and indirect rewards are not violated, assisting the company in achieving human resource and business objectives, and ultimately assisting the organisation in obtaining a competitive advantage. Various conflicts in the RM system can affect the benefits that can be obtained. It has been argued that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Similarly, Cascio (1991) suggests that the combination of the following five requirements along with a performance based pay system can also have a very significant impact on performance. The first of these is skill variety, where a wide variety of tasks or procedures is available to the employee. Next is task identity, where the employee can clearly identify the output of a task as a product of their efforts. This is followed by task significance, where the work is recognised as important and meaningful. After this comes autonomy, where the employees have a major say in work planning and execution. The final requirement is feedback, where employees receive constructive advice or criticism on their performance. The rewards offered can be extrinsic such as wages, incentives and bonuses, or intrinsic such as job satisfaction, an internal feeling of worth and a sense of well being on the job. O Neil (1998) suggests six minimal criteria for the design of a performance based pay system. The first of these criteria is that the reward system should be self funding, that is, the performance increases should as a minimum offset the cost of the rewards provided. The second criterion is that the distribution of the rewards must be consistent, fair and justifiable. In addition reward plans must be transparent and clearly communicated. The third criterion ... • 5. Perception Is A Important Process For Human Beings Countless data pass through our minds every single moment. Consider about height, colour, size and even message from actual language or body language, those are information we perceive everyday as usual. Perception is a very important process for human beings because it is a process that allow us to experience any data around us such as smell, touch, taste, temperature and so on. (Otara, 2011) As we perceive things, we collect data, we analyse it and interpret data in our minds in order to give the reaction back. However, sometimes we might face some situation that we think we already have a conclusion or outcome to some cases or some particular situations in our mind without receiving all of the information first. This cognitive process is called bias which means the process of using shortcut to see the outcome based on personal preferences without using all of information. This is not unfamiliar process to human beings because this process used to help us in order to survive through many eras. (Ross, 2011) For instance, you see a black shadow diving to your head so, you duck your head to avoid it. After that, you see that it s just a bird. (Ross, 2008) Before you duck your head, you didn t look at it well enough that means you didn t use all of information before react to the situation also you might face with these experiences before so you know it is safe to avoid at first. However, your bias is still useful because what if it s not a bird but a heavy object? You could ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Why is violence becoming and everyday event in our society? When you flip on the television and tune into the news, the highlight of every show is somehow directly related or connected to violence. We see it every evening and perhaps say Oh my gosh and then forget all about it two minutes later. Or perhaps we don t even make any comments at all, just a simple grunt or Oh, how terrible . They need to learn to talk out and solve any disagreements or problems through other means than violence. They must not know violence as an answer, as if violence was never even an option to consider in solving a problem. I recently became aware of the problem of violence in children when I started observing my child at play at my apartment complex. I had watched my daughter play with many children and never really noticed nothing violent nor aggressive about her. However as she gets older and more interested in television she is becoming, much more aggressive especially as she plays outside with her friends. She would punch and copy the moves of the cartoon shows she watched even to the point of copying their war cries and sayings. The media claims that they have no influence on children, that could not be further from the truth. Children are the easiest to manipulate and take advantage of because they are innocent and because they are innocent they are also ignorant. The main problem was the television shows that she was watching. That is very obvious. The problem was not just television itself but the combination of television and child. Children are very susceptible and easily persuaded as we all know. In the early 1960 s, Albert Bandura of Stanford was the first to present the theory that children not only learned from their parents through imitation but also through ... The new rules of modern day baseball involved the ability to steal bases, how the fields were built, and how many players are allowed on one team in the MLB. Bat sizes along with pitchers mounds have been changed as well for new requirements in the MLB. The new rules also allowed a batter to take a free base when hit by a pitch, or when taken four balls out of the strike zone. Many changes have been changed since starting the game until todays game, such as, instead of a team winning when one side scored twenty one aces, a team today wins by scoring the most runs through nine innings of baseball. In 1858, strikes were introduced and now batters could get called out on strikes. In 1863 the bat size regulation was introduced, someone had to have a required size bat to play. • 8. Adolf Hitler And Martin Luther Of Germany Topic: Can we obtain a peaceful, ordered life? Should we even bother trying? If so, how? Adolf Hitler of Germany: Martin Luther of Germany: Argument: No it is impossible. Argument: Yes it is possible. Today we have two great and influential people debating an incredibly controversial topic. Adolf Hitler and Martin Luther are both German citizens during a time of conflict, however that is where the similarities end. Luther, who was born in 1483 lived in a very different world from Hither. To Luther, the conflict was focused primarily around religion and basic human rights. These conflicts resulted in small scale battles and wars. Hitler s conflict was based on power and control. Religion was no longer the most controversial subject. • 11. Benefits Of Genetically Modified Organisms ( Gmos ) Essay Life on earth began approximately 3.5 billion years ago and, since the rapid diversification of most major living phyla (known as The Cambrian Explosion), evolution has given rise to an extraordinarily diverse range of life forms. Evolution has resulted in various species with a wide range of traits, each with the potential to be utilized by human kind. By modifying these organisms through cross breeding and artificial selection to create crops with desirable traits, the agriculture industry has found a way to produce essential food crops and a way to feed the world . In the 1970s, Morrow et al. developed a technique that allowed them to cut DNA from one organism and splice it with the DNA of another and thus modern biotechnology was born. Today, it is possible to sidestep the relatively slow process of evolution by modifying genes of plants and animals in the lab. Presently, such modifications allow for pest and herbicide resistance; faster crop production; more nutritious food sources; and even disease resistance . Despite these purported benefits of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs), there is considerable debate surrounding their use. In the public sphere, beliefs concerning GMO tend to be dominated by two markedly opposing narratives and it seems that one can only be in one of two camps: I. Critics of GMO: Arguing that the use of GMO is not justified as it is unnatural, unsafe, and may have long term environmental impacts. II. Advocates of GMO: Arguing that ... The British Renaissance Produced Many Types of Literature and Was Influenced By Shakespeare, Marlow, and Spenser The British Renaissance produced many types of literature for the world to see. Shakespeare, Spenser, and Marlowe all contributed to the shaping of the time period. Christopher Marlowe s quot; The Passionate Shepherd to His Love quot; portrays one of the typical love poems that can be seen from the Renaissance. A man is in search of the love of another girl, or woman. Sir Walter Raleigh wrote a poem in response to this passage of Marlowe s entitled quot; The Nymph s Reply to the Shepherd. quot; Although the name of the girl is not stated anywhere in the former poem, Raleigh decided to use a wood nymph as his subject. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His age also brings up another very interesting view of Marlowe s. In the poem, Marlowe expresses the idea that age has no influence upon love and a person s feelings. The shallow rivers, waterfalls, birds singing, and flowers all personify the Shepherd s feeling that age has nothing to do with love and his hopes of winning the younger girl s heart. The scene that is created is highly discernible as Spring, the time of year associated with love and light heartedness. The allusions to these things also demonstrates the Shepherd s hollow sense of hope. The Shepherd tries to lure the girl by offering her everything in the world. This materialism clearly shows that Marlowe believes that only fancy trinkets and beautiful possessions will win the heart of a girl. In virtually every stanza, there is a reference to a nicety that the Shepherd offers the girl in pursuitof her love. A belt of straw and ivy buds, With coral clasps and amber studs; Christopher Marlowe s Shepherd clearly believes that the only surefire way of attaining love would be to offer as much as you can and lure your subject into a false sense of being loved by giving her (or him) the world. The world means nothing to Sir Walter Raleigh s Nymph, the girl Raleigh presumes to be the object of the Shepherd s pleas, in his poem entitled quot; The Nymph s Reply to the Shepherd quot; in direct response to Christopher Marlowe. However, in order to enter Dis with any possibility of returning, Aeneas must first locate a sign to gain him access across the Acheron River. The Sibyl then explains to Aeneas that the sign is a golden branch in a nearby forest, if the branch breaks off the tree easily then fate awards Aeneas a pass into the underworld. If the branch does not break off then Aeneas is not destined to go. A bough is hidden in a shady tree; its leaves and pliant stem are golden, set aside as sacred to Proserpina. The grove serves as its screen, and shades enclose the bough in darkened valleys. Only he may pass beneath earth s secret space who first plucks the golden leaved fruit of that tree. Lovely Proserpina ordained that this be offered her as gift. And when the first bough is torn off, a second grows again with leaves of gold, again of that same metal. Many 90s kids memorized this opening to the hit television show The Fresh Prince of Bel Air . Sometimes you can t help but rap the words and visualize Will Smith spinning in front of a graffiti background. Will Smith stars in the show as a fictionalized version of himself. The theme song sets the premise for the entire show. Smith was a street smart, African American teenager born in West Philadelphia. However, while playing basketball, he got in a confrontation with a group of men. This frightened his mother, who sent him to Bel Air to live with his wealthy aunt and uncle. Smith grew up in a working class environment and is now exposed to an upper class world. This is a theme around which many of the show s plots revolve. The effect of the lyrics to this theme song goes beyond pure entertainment value. Smith is hyper aware that he is combatting the prevalent television representation, at the time, of young black males as thugs. Through this 90s comical theme song, Smith, who was born and raised in West Philadelphia himself, confirms the stereotype of the urban, black, young thug and complicates that stereotype by depicting himself as nothing like that. The blue halo surrounding Shantarakshita leads the eye up, through a lotus blossom, towards the two figures above him: Shakyamuni Buddha to the right and Shantarakshita s own teacher to the left ( Historical Narrative: Shantarakshita ). Although it is permanently on display in a Tibetan temple, the Drowa Sangmo Mural depicts more of an ordinary scene than the portrait of Shantarakshita. Self Identity In The Gospel Of Jew The Gospel of Matthew, at least in its final form, is dated in the 80s AD and was possibly written in Treasures New and Old (9: The Good News of Jesus) 2015 Syria. It gives us insights into the painful transition from Judaism to early Christianity, including a growing number of Gentiles. Matthew s community faces the problem of self identity Who are we? Where do we belong? Jewish Christians discussed among themselves what it means to follow Jesus, the Christ, and yet remain Jewish. Could these two things be reconciled? Evidence of this dilemma occurs in those texts that describe the arguments that Jesus had with members of the Pharisaic group. The Pharisees were a reforming group within Judaism. Prior to their collision, a study in 1948 had been done, on the busyness of the New York harbor, and it recommended that ships traveling east go 20 miles south of the Nantucket lightship. Had these ships heeded this advice a collision might never have occurred. The Andrea Doria, captained by Piero Calamai, was headed towards New York harbor with 1,134 passengers on board. However critics deriding her as a gadfly and an unfit woman cite many flaws in her leadership capacity. Roosevelt was never elected to office. It is easy to presume that that person is in the position they are in because of money, connections or an extraordinary intellect. We may suppose that any adversity or problems that this type of person has encountered are on another level to those that we face. Perhaps we don t imagine that there were private obstacles to overcome, personality traits that needed adjustment or adaptation, that private insecurities or personal failings had to be surmounted. It is simplest to assume that the role of leadership was cut out for him/her alone. More often than not, one imagines that the leader in an individual emerges early on in life, apparent from an early age: a bright child with above average intelligence, active in all walks of life, successful in anything that he puts his/her hand to, popular with peers and admired by elders. But nothing is that simple. Take Eleanor Roosevelt: Eleanor Roosevelt was born into a rich elitist family. Her life was blessed with plenty, and she was brought up on a diet of French maids, German maids and governesses. The largest expansion and introduction of new technology has been in the last decade. Companies and organizations are replacing employees with technology. It can be seen and heard throughout major and minor companies and organizations throughout the United States. A prime example of technology changing an entire market is within the travel agency field. Before the Internet and new technology, if one wanted to book a trip or flight they would have to go into a physical store and talk with a human that would do all the paperwork necessary to purchase a trip. Nowadays those stores have completely disappeared. What was once a store found in every shopping center is now only find in a handful of cities through the United States. The physical stores have turned into websites found on the World Wide Web and the humans have turned into software programs. Challenges of Technology Service organizations are seeking a competitive edge by using new technology assisted services for their customers; however, these technologies can backfire onto the company with high costs to run the technology, challenges of the new technology and embarrassing fails of the technology. • 39. The Effect Of Hieroglyphics On The Rosetta Stone Arguably one of the most important discoveries made regarding the historical and cultural study of ancient Egypt is the translation of the writing form known as hieroglyphics. This language, lost for thousands of years, formed a tantalizing challenge to a young Jean François who committed his life to its translation. Scholars such as Sylvestre de Sacy had attempted to translate the Rosetta Stone before Champollion, but after painstaking and unfruitful work, they abandoned it (Giblin 32). Champollion s breakthrough with hieroglyphics on the Rosetta Stone opened up new possibilities to study and understand ancient Egypt like never before, and modern Egyptology was born. Although he was able to find them, he was not able to decipher an alphabetical system that applied to the rest of the text. It seemed that the other symbols represented things, not letters. Having reached a dead end in his work, he gave up, saying, The problem is too complicated, scientifically insoluble (Giblin 32). A few others continued after him with the same idea of a solely alphabetical system, but they all came to the same dead end and were not able to make any progress. One of the first scholars to make any real headway on the translation was Thomas Young, a British polymath (Silet 1). Being a polymath and not understanding any of the language to begin with, Young meticulously inspected the stone, looking for recurring patterns and recording the number of times each symbol was repeated (Meyerson 123). Young knew that Ptolemys were Greek, so he assumed that the name Ptolemaios, spelled in the Greek style, would appear spelled the same way in the hieroglyphic section. Indeed he did find several times the cartouche containing what he believed to spell Ptolemaios (Giblet 40). He misunderstood a few of the symbols meanings, and it was later discovered that the Egyptian spelling was Ptolmis, but Young had taken the first major steps into translating the hieroglyphics (Giblet 41). The different shapes throughout the painting like the stars and the houses as well as the colors expressed in the sky and in the dark hillsides and the texture of the rich and thick strokes in the painting create these Art Principles. Unity is shown in the painting as all the elements belong together and fit with one another to create a harmonious whole. The bright yellow blue night sky is filled with stars and movement around it which guides the viewer s eyes in the same movement as the lines go not only in the sky but in the hills. The hills are moving upward and then downwards onto the brightly lit buildings repeating harmoniously in the painting. The variety of the orange color is seen in the stars and moon and in some of the houses represented as a light. Patterns are seen in the skylines and stars as they move across. Asymmetrical balance is seen in the work of art because even with the patterns, the right and left sides are not the same because of the different and variety of elements that balance together based on their meaning. The large moon in the painting is where you look at the longest because of its size which draws attention to the stars around it balance it. These bodies, in aluminum coffins, came over to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware. Tax payers were irate at possibly having to pay for all the embalming and burial costs ( The Horror, 28). Embalming and burial costs are expensive and many people lost sympathy for cult members. So, people opposed paying for the consequences of the Jonestown massacre. Jim Jones realized he was losing control over the People s Temple, leading to the Jonestown massacre. Then in 1975, he uprooted his followers and isolated them in Jonestown, Guyana. Jones began instructing his followers to commit a revolutionary suicide (Twemlow 224). The People s Temple s actions concerned many family members and outsiders, which sparked Congressman Leo Ryan s involvement. Congressman Leo Ryan and some reporters were on a mission to rescue Americans from Jonestown. It has been a relatively warm winter month with little snowfall so far this year, then all of a sudden, the ice cracks separating Alexander from his friends slowly drifting away into the ocean. He attempts to swim back, but does not make it. In 2002, the George River Caribou Herd (GRCH) population was between 800,000 900,000 animals but by 2014 the population of caribou was decreased to 14,200 GRCH, in northern Canada. While at first it may appear that animal decline and animal population loss in Canada/ the northern hemisphere, due to carbon emissions, is not as serious as it seems, but a closer look reveals that carbon emissions from factories, cars, trains, etc. are a cause of global warming and that the reduction of private transportation would be a quick efficient solution. By forcing businesses to pay taxes and restrict the amount of carbon output and the general public to use less private, and more public transportation, the Earth temperature raising would decline. As a result, this solution would not only stop the destruction of the animal s; habitats, allowing the population decline to stop, but also stop all the other effects of global warming, such as worse air qualities, higher temperatures, and sea levels rising across the world.
