Advantages And Disadvantages Of Dentures
Say goodbye to your ill fitted, wobbly denture by getting a fixed permanent denture.
These days, dentists use a variety of restorations to correct a patient s teeth and make his smile look
attractive and natural. Unfortunately, some of the restorative dentistry procedures can be more
complicated and take weeks and even months to complete. Since some procedures like dental implants
can be considerably expensive, not all people are lucky to have fixed their teeth.
Dentures have long been used as a cost effective replacement solution for missing teeth. But after
some time this removable dental device starts to loosen and shifts, causing discomfort while eating,
talking or laughing. Not only this, wearing removable dentures for long time can ... Show more

Dentures, which are removable artificial teeth, always need a fixative such as an adhesive paste or
wafers to be held in place.
Applying adhesives is generally not a pleasant experience as in addition to the bad taste the pasty
substance produces uncomfortable feeling in the mouth.
Also, the bond between gum and denture is not always secure and dentures often slip and move
around when you laugh, cough, or eat, causing you a great deal of discomfort and embarrassment in
social or public situations.
Your gums and jawbone that supports the dentures are gradually eroded over a period of time and the
device may not fit as well as it initially used to.
Denture looseness and slippage can lead to gum irritation and sores, prompting you to return to the
dentist for necessary adjustments.
If poorly fitting or worn dentures are not replaced in time, they can lead to mouth sores, infections or
problems with eating and speech.
When a new set of dentures is inserted in the mouth it may feel a little odd and cause increased
salivary secretions but these problems will diminish as your mouth gets adjusted to this

The Importance Of Daily Life In The Middle Ages
The newest piece of technology has just came out. This is a time machine that actually works and can
send a person anywhere in time he or she wants. And you are the first person to experience this. You
enter the capsule and hit a button and you re whisked away to the late 1300 s and the Middle Ages.
You take a step out and what do you see? People working in the fields, with taller men watching them
making sure they are doing their job. Men riding on horses in the woods out hunting. You don t know
whats going on, you re head is spinning, why are these people acting like this? This is because of their
position, what they are allowed to do, and how their daily life is like. Position in the Middle Ages

The peasants however could only eat what they harvested in their own fields and what was left if they
worked for the lord (Galloway 20 21). They also could rarely eat meat, which was a huge luxury back
then. They also had no refrigerators so many of the things peasants ate were stale food or spoiled food
(Allen). Clean water was also a rarity. This was because water ways were not always clean and
because many peasants used clean rivers as a place to dump their waste, there were no reliable sources
for clean water in the Middle Ages (Allen). To solve this problem, brewers, or people who made a
wine like drink called ale for living, used water and fermented fruits and was surprisingly cleaner than
the water they had back then! Because of this, many peasants asked the brewers to make them ale and
beaus of this, ale was the most popular dink for peasants and even the some of the nobles (Galloway).
The peasants usually ate bread because thats what they could grow. Many peasants could only grow
grain or barley and so they would take their crops to the miller who would grind the grain for you.
However many millers were known as cheaters as they made the people pay more or they kept some
of the flour for themselves or even both! (Galloway). Some millers would even put their hands on the
scale so it would make the grain weigh more so the peasants would have to

The Omnivore s Dilemma Summary
The author of The Omnivore s Dilemma, Michael Pollan stated, some possible ingredients in cattle
feed from a CAFO were Chicken manure, cattle manure, chocolate, stale pastry, cement dust,
molasses, candy, urea, hooves, feathers, meat scraps, fish meal, pasta, peanut skins, brewery wastes,
cardboard, corn silage, and pesticides (49). These ingredients could have terrible effects on cattle
raised in CAFOs or concentrated animal feeding operations and the people who eat them. The CAFOs,
or feedlots, are giant places where thousands of cattle are confined to be fattened up for slaughter. In
addition he stated there is another cost to raising cattle in CAFOs... these animals have evolved to eat
grass. But in a CAFO they are forced to eat corn at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
coli people should not eat CAFO beef. E. coli is very dangerous if people get it; it is not worth the risk
to eat CAFO beef. For example, U.S. researchers have found that high grain diets make E. coli more
virulent (Smith). Considering that a cow s diet in a CAFO is loaded with extra grain E. coli will
definitely be at a higher risk. Nancy Smith said, When cattle are fattened on grain, their digestive
tracts become unusually acidic and kill off most of the E. coli. The bacteria that survive are those that
have adapted themselves to an acidic environment (Smith). When Americans eat this beef people will
get the resilient bacteria and become very sick or worse. A writer for the Chicago Tribune, Stephen
Hedges, said, Tyson tests all raw beef components we know are destined for ground beef production,
Mickelson said, adding that the program provides a 95 percent or greater assurance of finding E. coli
(Hedges). Mickelson, a spokesman for Tyson, said that Tyson has very effective tests for catching E.
coli, however the five percent that is not detected could cause harm. However, E. coli from feedlot
beef can be deadly (Smith). If people eat CAFO beef they could get really sick or die. Obviously, E.
coli poses a giant threat to people who eat CAFO beef so people should not eat this feedlot product to

Aristotle s Duality Of Virtue Ethics
Aristotle s philosophy on virtue ethics involves the essence of what it means to be human, how to live
the most fulfilling and effective life, and how this affects one s responsibility to others. This theory is
applicable to virtually any profession, engineering included. As has been instilled in my perceptions
about my chosen career field since my first day at Texas A M University, engineering is far beyond the
intellect to do calculus and write computer code; engineering is making decisions that will affect
countless others and could even hold others life at stake. For this reason, Aristotle s duality of
intellectual and moral virtues deserves a more substantial introspective role in the engineering field.
Within Nichomachean ethics, Aristotle ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reason for this non exhaustive list of qualities is that an engineer needs to be able to work and do
business with an array of people, and showing too much emotion or anger is generally unproductive
for the group and can lead to serious interpersonal issues. Engineers should actively work to find ways
to improve their skills, learning from all others, as well be humble enough to admit when somebody
else has a better idea than them. Lastly, engineers should have a personal drive, a personal telos, to
improve not only themselves but to improve society as a whole, be it via increasing the technological
knowledge and capabilities or by providing aid during a humanitarian crisis.
There is much that can be said of engineering in terms of Aristotle s theory of virtue ethics. Engineers
must strive to attain a high level of virtuosity in both the intellectual and moral categories, as
engineers can make decisions that affect the welfare and the very lives of those that use the products
of their labor. While Texas A M University does present many relevant virtues to its students in their
coursework, these are mostly intellectual virtues; moral virtues will have to come through practice in
each of our individual

Essay On The Effect Of Sucrose Concentration On Rate Of...
Effects of Sucrose Concentration on Rate of Diffusion Through Osmosis
Introduction:
Many human beings undergo dialysis to filter waste from their blood due to the fact that their kidneys
are not working properly. The blood is filtered through a selectively permeable membrane which
separates waste from the blood, essentially pumping clean blood back into the body. This is a form of
osmosis, which by definition, is the net movement of water across a selectively permeable membrane,
which was our dialysis bag in this experiment. (Eisenbach et al. 2017). Showing the importance of the
type of selectively permeable membrane used as it allows different substances to go through it. People
who have kidney failure or a kidney disease can become dependent on the use of dialysis to keep them
alive. The rate for those who need dialysis and hospitalization continues to grow as these patients fall
victim to cardiovascular disease and infection such as sepsis (Thompson and Pannu 2011). Factors
that increase the effects of osmosis include temperature, as temperature increases salt transport, and
plays a role in water flux, water viscosity, and osmotic pressure (Zhao and Zou 2011). The rate at
which some substances moves through the selectively ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was measured against a 0% sucrose concentration to allow a controlled variable to be added to
the experiment. It was hypothesized that the diffusion rate of sucrose depends on the amount of
substance present, and that an increase in concentration of sucrose will lead to an increase in the rate
of diffusion. It was predicted that the diffusion rate of 20% sucrose concentration would have a lower
rate of diffusion than the 40% sucrose

The Killer Angels By John M. Skipper Essay
History 1301 John M. Skipper
The Killer Angels is a historic backstory of the days leading up to the Civil War. The story is told from
multiple viewpoints including Robert E. Lee, James Longstreet, George Meade, and Winfield Scott
Hancock. It is mentioned the Army of Northern Virginia is moving behind the Blue Ridge Mountains,
and that the Army of Potomac is also moving, but is traveling very slow. This is one of the
characteristics which plagued them throughout the war. Shaara gives insight to the background of both
Armies. He described the Confederates as a unified group with soldiers of the same background, while
the Union is the exact opposite. Its men are very divided soldiers fighting for unification. There is one
similarity between the two sides which stands out more than all the others; both sides are ready for the
final showdown. Shaara gives insight into this by hinting towards the conflict, yet never telling the
reader directly. This causes the reader to be drawn deeper into the story anticipating what will happen
next.
There are illustrations showing movement of the Confederate and the Union armies, an epilogue, and
an afterword stating the events after the Battle of Gettysburg. In the foreword, Sharra tells the reader
the purpose of the book is to educate the reader on the history of the battle, but also give insight into
the soldier s thoughts. Sharra also writes that out of all the historic writings about the battle, he chose
to use letters,

Radio Free Dixie
Critical Analysis: Radio Free Dixie The beginning of black militancy in the United States is said to
have begun with the chants Black Power demanded by Stokely Carmichael and Willie Ricks during
the 1966 March against Fear. While Carmichael and Ricks may have coined the phrase black power ,
the roots of the movement had been planted long before by Mr. Robert F. Williams. In Timothy Tyson
s book: Radio Free Dixie: Robert F. Williams and the Roots of Black Power, Tyson details the life of a
remarkable man who had the audacity not only to challenge racial injustice in America but also to
contest the rarely disputed strategies of Martin Luther King Jr. and the Civil Rights Establishment.
Tyson uses Williams life to illustrate his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The story telling effect allows for a fairly easy read that provides a great deal of information along the
way. Tyson s book in comparison to similar biographical works based in this time period was laid out
particularly well which again allowed for an easy read. Similar to Dr. King s autobiography, Tyson
goes in depth in to the roots of Williams past deciphering his experiences and relating them to the final
product. For example, detailing Williams life back to the ideologies of his grandparents, his childhood,
experiences with racial injustice and his military career allowed for a deeper understanding of his
transformation in to a militant black leader. Another effective tactic Tyson used to depict Williams life
was to focus his relationships with several other prominent black leaders at the time.; Roy Wilkins, Dr.
King, Thurgood Marshall etc. This allows the reader to find parallels and better understand the
complexities of the black freedom struggle. Tyson highlights the incongruity in strategy and ideology
in his detailing of these relationships yet maintains his central thesis that in the end they were all
fighting for the same thing. The life of Robert Williams underlines many aspects of the ongoing black
freedom struggle: The decisive racial significance of World War II and the impact of the Cold war on
the Freedom Struggle and equally important the centrality of questions of sexuality and gender in
racial politics.

he departed to the capital of the Persian Empire, Persepolis. Alexander believed Persepolis was their
worst enemy among the cities of Asia. Also, they were the wealthiest city. Alexander sacked and

Napoleon Bonaparte, A Great Leader, The Politician,...
Napoleon Bonaparte, soldier, general, politician, tyrant, emperor. Napoleon Bonaparte was a great
many things. He ended the French revolution, bringing stability and order to a country stricken with
chaos. He accomplished civil reforms that other countries could only dream off in matter of a few
years, restoring financial stability, reformed the education system, instituted an extensive program of
public works, centralized the governmental systems which is still in effect today in France, and settled
disputes with the almighty Catholic Church, the list of his great accomplishments go on and on.
Napoleon was born to Carlo Buonaparte, a Corsican lawyer, and his wife Letizia Ramolino on August
15, 1769. The Buonapartes were descended from minor Italian nobility of Tuscan origin, who had
come to Corsica from Liguria in the 16th century. He had an elder brother named Joseph, and six
younger siblings, Lucien, Elisa, Louis, Pauline, Caroline and Jerome. During his infant years civil
strife surrounded him, the people of Corsica were rising up against the French occupiers, originally his
family had sided with the nationalists, but after their leader Pasquale was forced to flee, Carlo turned
his coat and sided with the French. After his betrayal he was appointed a plush job as the accessor of
the judicial district of Ajaccio. The job allowed him to enroll his two sons Joseph and Napoleon in

11 October, 2016 In 1775 General Thomas Gage, Commander if the British Force in the
Massachusetts Colony, issued orders to the troops quartered in Boston, Massachusetts to march to
Concord and and destroy the colonial military stores that were there. The reason the British were in
Massachusetts in the first place was because the people of Massachusetts were very rebellious and
have had many violent resistances against the British already. The secret orders that Gage issued were
hardly a secret and some colonials knew about this movement a week before the British moved out.

John Bateman, a British soldier who was captured by the colonists said that he heard a command to
fire given to the Regulars, and that none of the colonists fired at the Regulars(3). This completely goes
against the British evidence which clearly says that they did not give the command to fire and were
giving orders to not fire. Also, since he was captured by the colonists, he obviously wants to say
something that pleases them since they are his audience. That makes his evidence unreliable since he
could have made that up to please the colonists who had captured him. Next up is Sylvanus Wood who
was a commonwealth of Massachusetts and gave a sworn testimony on June 17, 1826. He Said that
The officer then swung his sword, and said Lay down your arms, you damn d rebels, or you are all

Parker s company had dispersed, and he was at some distance, he gave them the guts of his gun (5).
Wood said that The British ordered their troops to fire, as well as him saying that one of the colonists
did in fact fire against the Regulars. This contradicts the fact that Bateman said that none of the
colonists fired at the Regulars while Wood is saying that at least one colonists did fire upon the
Regulars. It also seems a bit unreliable since Wood s testimony was made almost 50 years later after

The First Of A New Historical Period
With the repeated financial crises that effected the global market economy in resent years, and with
the realization that many of the practices, behaviors, and political decision that led to the economic
crisis in the first place are still in place, one can only wonder if capitalism as an economic, social, and
political structure is coming to an end as we know it? What makes this predication more realistic now
than ever is the political changes that we are witnessing and the lack of social stability that is affecting
every corner of the planet; it seems that the seeds of change were already planted, and now we are
witnessing the early stages of a new historical period. However, a system, like capitalism, that became
part of the very nature of how societies function and exist is hard to overcome. In addition, this
unstable era is not the first for the capitalist system. In fact, lack of stability and conflict during WWII
only allowed capitalist countries, such as the U.S. and Japan, to emerge stronger, more dominant, and
more hegemonic. Thus, why would this period of time could by any different from the previous crises
that the capitalist system faced and overcame?
These debates have dominated the political economy field in the recent years, and in this paper, I will
attempt to cover some of the main argument in support of each of these points of view.
Many argued that capitalism, as we know it, in all of it variations and models, has came to an end.
Capitalism, as Marx had

Lovable Jerk Film Analysis
It is these three, however, who absolutely make the film what it is. Such unparalleled acting and
interactions between Lucas, Rachael and Travis. No, it s not the three stooges, for these three tell a
much more compelling story and give stunningly impressive performances that far supersede the
antics of those superb comedians from another era. While the story does involve a love triangle,
Hallmark s writers seem to avoid the pitfalls we sometimes witness when viewing films that revolve
around that particular issue. In fact, jealousy doesn t even seem to be the dilemma between the two
young men. At least, not jealousy over the young lady s affections.
As the lovable jerk, Travis portrays the smooth talking, forward thinking Will who is often looking for
a means to an end. Unfortunately, he is not overly principled in his business dealings nor his
relationships. He sees the attractive, vivacious Maya, and he decides to woo her right from the outset.

Society In Brave New World
Brave New World s fictional society [World State] is practically an extreme, yet logically developed
version of our world s economic values, where economic growth and prosperity is equated with the
success of a society. It has several comparisons to the realistic one we live in everyday. Huxley
describes this part of his vision as being a consumer society, which evidently was satire of the society
he was living in and the one that still exists today. In which people buy all they can and keep buying
useless consumer items: nice clothes, food, and drugs. People indulge in these items and become so
happy that they lose and choose not to care about their personal freedoms, which is why it is so easy
for the World State s citizens to be controlled. Religion is replaced by the reverence for technology.
This can be seen throughout the entirety of the book, since the World State s citizens substitute the
name Ford, or Henry Ford, one of the most greatest industrialists of the 20th century, where people in

Causes Of Multiple Sclerosis
Affecting women more than men, Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is normally diagnosed between the ages 20
and 40, but can be seen during any age.; which is the most common disabling neurological disease of
young adults. It s caused by the myelin sheath, which is the protective covering which surrounds the
nerve cells, by being damaged. Nerve signals start slowing down or they stop when this nerve
covering is damaged, which is caused by inflammation. It can affect any area of the brain, spinal cord,
and optic nerve. The causes for Multiple Sclerosis are still unknown, however the common thought on
it is that it s a virus or gene defect, and environmental facts could also play a role in it. With MS, it
causes the sheath to be stripped away, which is a process called demyelination. Severe or mild
disabilities can occur depending on the nerves that were affected. If the myelin in the sensory nerves is
lost, a person may have impaired sense of touch. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Strategic Leadership Plans of Organizations
1. The Blake Mouton leadership grid uses the axes of concern of people and concern for production to
describe five different leadership styles auditory compliance, middle of the road, impoverished, team
management and country club. The National Council on Aging can be described by the Blake Mouton
model as team management. The organization s vision makes clear that t is a people oriented
organization. Trust and respect are important, and work is done by people who share in the common
vision and are willing to work hard towards it.
2. Hersey and Blanchard argue that the maturity of followers is task specific. They focus their model
on two types of maturity job maturity and psychological maturity. The works at the NCOA tend to be
experienced people with many years on the job, and also having worked in other organizations for
long tenures as well. This gives them a high level of job maturity and psychological maturity as well.
In an organization that is characterized by high maturity of followers and a high relationship
orientation, the management style is usually supporting, which is a fairly accurate description of the
NCOA. New workers tend to receive more coaching, but the experienced workers seldom require
more than support for their tasks.
3. The American Association for Retired People fits into the Blake Mouton leadership grid is middle
of the road management. There is equal emphasis on production as people at AARP. Part of this is due

The Japanese-American Internment Camps
Whenever you think of World War II camps, the first thing that comes to mind are the Nazi

camps, many of which were atrocious. During World War II, the Japanese American internment camps

the non Japanese. Two months after the attack on Pearl Harbor, President Roosevelt signed executive

stereotypes, such as yellow skin, slanted eyes, and faces that would resemble animals; the Americans

Americans could relate to this portrayal of their race. The subhuman depiction of the Japanese

Essay Casablanca Movie Review
The movie Casablanca tells the story of Rick Blaine, a bar owner in Casablanca. His heart breaks
when Ilsa, his sweetheart, fails to join him in his escape from Paris before the Nazis invaded. Rick s
relationship fall out begins the movie journey depicted in an authentic World War II time period. It
was on a stormy night that Rick received a letter from Ilsa telling him that she wouldn t be coming
with him to Casablanca. Realizing he has been dumped, he sadly hops onto the train and rides off to
Casablanca by himself. According to Jim Piper, Films aren t just about people; they are also about the
relationships people make...Often, in fact, a relationship is the movie (159). It is Rick s relationships
that make this movie. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If Ilsa had her way, she would remain in Casablanca with Rick to try to rekindle the relationship they
had. Rick, however, wanted Ilsa to go and be with her husband. Rick s journey was truly one of love.
His final act of love for Ilsa involved giving up the relationship he wanted the most because of the
love he had for her. Rick must choose between his love for a woman and helping her and her husband
escape Casablanca. He makes the right choice. Filmed during World War II, Casablanca differs from
most movies released during this time period. Most films depicted the war in some way. The setting
for Casablance focuses on the French refugees on their way to the United States. Every element fits
the time period. Period films try to capture the times how people live, what they value, what they are
willing to die for, and so on (171). The moviemakers try to capture and depict this World War II era
with accuracy. This is done successfully with the period cars, clothes, hairstyles and scenery. The men
wear suits with bow ties and cuff links. Officers wear appropriate uniforms with medals and
appropriate patches adorning them. Their hair is kept in place with gel, parted at the side and combed
back. Both the men and women wear period hats. The women s clothing is elegant and conservative,
adorned by broaches. Their pin curled hair is wavy and swept up. The cities look so convincingly real

Womens Rights Violations
Women s rights, as defined by the Global Fund for Women, is the right to live free from violence,
slavery, and discrimination; to be educated; to own property; to vote; and to earn a fair and equal
wage, and in our country, there have been many instances of the violation of these rights, such as
sexual harassment, gender discrimination, misogyny. These acts can even be seen at different points in
the timeline of the Philippine history, be it in the past decades, or at present. Hence, the purpose of this
paper is to compare women s rights violations in the Philippines in the context of both the present, and
the time of Martial Law.
During Martial Law At the time of Martial Law, rights pertaining to women were already present and
were those that have already been recognized by the state. Despite having these, the rise of harassment
and violations of these rights were not prevented as evidenced by the numerous victims of torture,
rape, abduction, and sexual harassment, which in particular, was the prominent act of violence against
women. As mentioned by Susan Quimpo upon inquiry, The common thought among women was that
rape was the minimum when you are caught and you are a woman. There was even an SOP with the
military where they were allowed to molest or basically rape women when caught, and this instance
alone shows how women are not only sexualized, but likewise how there is much disregard of the
rights they have not to live in discrimination and violence. Quimpo also

Red Lotus Of Chastity Analysis
In Machiavelli s The Prince , Machiavelli is able to express and display his own theories and views on
how a prince should act in certain situations. The style that Machiavelli uses to explain himself it is
very straight forward and most of the time the opposite of what people would think. Machiavelli s
concept of being a lion and fox appears in Somadeva s The Red Lotus of Chastity , where two of the
main characters Devasmita and the nun, Yogakarandita, both attempt to follow Machiavelli s concept
of being a fox and a lion. However, Devasmita is the only one that fully uses Machiavelli s concept
and comes out with a victory against the nun, which on the other hand did not use both attributes but

The Problem Of E Waste
E Waste may be described as a broad and growing range of electronics ranging from large household
devices such as refrigerators, air conditioners, cell phones, personal stereos and consumer electronics
to computers, which have been discarded by their users. (Puckett and Smith, 2002). While this
description is accurate, it is slightly ambiguous about the length of time before a device can actually
be considered waste. Often, owners discard their electronics long before they have reached the end of
their actual life cycle in order to upgrade to a newer model. In most cases the outgoing device finds its
way into the used market. This may prolong the life of the product by a few years, however all
electronic items eventually reach a point ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With devices becoming increasingly affordable, the replacement time for common consumer
electronics has also become shorter. Planned obsolescence is a significant contributor to the increase
in purchase of consumer electronics. Many companies these days limit software updates and features
to only a handful of new phones or tablets they offer, thus perpetuating the need to go out and
purchase the new model. The average use time before a consumer replaces their mobile phone is only
18 months even though it s actual life cycle may be much longer than that. PCs and laptops are usually
considered outdated within 3 4 years of purchase and are then replaced by their owners for newer and
faster models. Studies have estimated e waste generation worldwide at 20 to 50 million tonnes per
year with a steady increase of 8% to 10% annually. One of the methods to estimate the potential
volume of e waste in the present and the future is by analyzing sales figures of commercial
electronics. By taking into account how much we are buying, we may be able to approximate how
much will be added to this waste stream a few years down the line when newly purchased devices
become obsolete and are discarded. On the release of the latest iPad, electronic buy back firms stated
that consumers were trading in their older tablets at an unprecedented rate for the new iteration even
though their older tablets were completely functional and working.

Birthday By Dorothea Tanning Summary
Dorothea Tanning s painting Birthday from 1942 is an oil on canvas self portrait. The painting s
prominent subject is a woman who is standing alone to the left of the canvas. She is dressed uniquely
in a dark brown ruffled skirt that reaches all the way to her calves. On the sides of her skirt, there is an
abundance of vine like roots overflowing from the back towards the front. Her top is an open, purple,
green and white decorative jacket; revealing her bosom, chest and some of her torso. With her left
hand, she is holding onto one of the many doors that are behind her yet she is looking off in a different
direction from these doors. The woman has no shoes on and to the right of her feet is an animal that
looks like a combination of a cat and bat that has big yellow eyes and large wings. The outfit choice of
the woman reflects not only modernity but also antiquity thus, making the time represent the turn of
the century. This combination of modernity and antiquity reveals something new which attributes to
the portraits name, Birthday. Behind the woman and animal beside her, is a long hallway that seems to
be never ending of open doors; showing that the paintings setting is indoors. The exact location is
unidentifiable because there is no furniture to indicate where she is, which signifies a sense of
isolation. Though the look on the woman s face and the hallway of doors initially give a perception of
loneliness and unknowingness, the colors, composition, and lines create a

Examples Of Leadership In Animal Farm By George Orwell
An Inept Leader: Calamity for a Nation and its People The state of a nation primarily reflects the
strength and aptness of its leader; a weak leader submits their nation into an abysmal state, whereas a
great one promotes progress. In Orwell s novella, Animal Farm, the animals of inferior intelligence
comply with their vehement leader, Napoleon, who initially demonstrates strong qualities as a leader.
However, Napoleon s leadership succumbs to corruption as he gradually implements unprincipled
authoritarian rules that primarily benefit the pigs at the expense of the working class. Similarly, past
leaders have displayed abuse of power for personal gain. Through his accurate incorporation of Czar
Nicholas II s traits into Napoleon s disposition, Orwell articulates how negligent leadership
jeopardizes a nation and its citizens, such as Turkmenistan under Saparmurad Niyazov s reign. Czar
Nicholas II crippled Russia by misusing his power in authority: he disregarded the harsh working
conditions and poor health of his citizens and sought control through violent means. Under his reign,
the Czar s citizens faced severe conditions, and although widespread malnourishment was ... Show

My Life Of Being A Teacher Essay
Growing up I always dreamed of being a teacher. I soon realized that I would not be fit for that job.
Once I broke my arm being in the hospital fascinated me. There was so many things to see. As I got
older I did a lot research and came across one job that really caught my eye. A surgical technologist. I
never knew that there was such a thing. The best part was, I got to observe and the surgery I saw was
life changing. After doing some research, I contacted a friend whom is a surgical technologist. I was
so curious to know what it was like. She told me that she s seen so many different fascinating things.
Later on, she gave me her bosses number so I could contact her. I began to ask her boss many
questions and she eventually told me I could come in and observe. I was so excited. I could hardly
wait. I was finally going see something I never thought I would. Before I could do anything though, I
had to fill out a ton of papers. Some of the statements on the paper had me a little worried. Like how I
could catch a disease if I wasn t careful in there. The next morning, I got up early and got ready to go
watch surgeries. I was so excited I got there an hour early. Walking into the hospital was a little nerve
wracking. I had no clue where anything was, or who anyone was. When I finally reached my
destination, they took me to the lockers. There I changed into scrubs, a hair net, shoe covers and a
mask to cover my face. At first, I was confused on why I need shoe covers but one

Taking a Look at Conspiracy Theories
In today s modern world it seems as if all major events have an official story, and another often less
credible story pursued by doubters and sceptics of the government or the details in the story. These
sceptics are more often than not referred to as conspiracy theorists. The issue that arises with these
conspiracy theories is that while some sound over the top ridiculous, some have turned out to be all
but true. For this reason, conspiracies are often controversial, they make serious issues into a fairytale,
or a simple non serious event into a serious concerns. These theories are the result of paranoia
regardless of their truth, they are often formed on assumptions, absence of information, and fear. For
these reasons a conspiracy can be formed around nearly any situation, disaster or event. Conspiracy
theories are not just a modern phenomenon either, and they can be found throughout human history,
but with today s technology it has become easier than every to spread these ideas around. These ideas
propagate due to the culture surrounding the world, and the fear individuals have of the unknown.
Many people prefer elaborate stories over simple explanations, especially when they feel their
government is behind the event. Misunderstanding, disbelief, denial, fear and human abilities and
emotion play into why and how these conspiracy theories emerge. Theories based outside of definite
fact, or the accepted explanation has been occurring as far back as history goes. The

Renaissance Arranged Marriage
Arranged marriage in the Renaissance era was very popular among Florentine families. This was the
way of life for multiple different reasons. Arranged marriages were the way things were run in order to
bring two families together. The two families hopes were to gain an alliance and more importantly
gain wealth. Another objective was producing offspring more specifically boys that could eventually
inherit the family wealth and power. Although there were many positives with arrange marriage, there
were also a numerous amount of negatives with this lifestyle. Arranged marriage was a complicated
business. The girls were usually anywhere from fourteen to seventeen years of age with a difference of
fifteen to twenty years to their husbands or even greater if it were his second marriage. Girls were
young because with they way society worked they wanted the girls to be able to produce as many
children as possible. The goal was to have the young girl pregnant every other year until she was done
ovulating. Although this seems like it would end with an enormous amount of children that was not
the case because many children did not survive. On the other hand, men were older when married
because society wanted them to have a social network and wealth and such. With the wife being

The Unbelievable, Unethical CIA Mind Control Experiments
The Unbelievable, Unethical CIA Mind Control Experiments
The CIA s, the Central Intelligence Agency, duty is to provide national intelligence to U.S President
and officials. The CIA created a top secret experiment to try and control people s mind. According to
the CIA s file, MK ULTRA/Mind Control Experiments , which started in 1953 and continued to 1964.
The main goal for this project was to to brainwash people and reprogram their minds. At first, the CIA
denied of doing such thing, but later on admitted that they have done mind control experiments on
nonvoluntary people. Although, they said that they have stopped completely since then. If the CIA has
done brutal experiments like MK Ultra, what other experiments have they done on people without
their consents? Are we sure that the CIA discontinued with MK Ultra like they said? The CIA used
LSD to brainwash people, which has disastrous effects on people s health. This experiment was truly
wrong, unnecessary, and unconstitutional.
The CIA were influenced by other countries to experiment on brainwashing people but resulted in the
agency to making unethical decisions. In the article, Project Mkultra: One of the Most Shocking CIA
Programs of All Time , Melissa explains that, The motivation was also defensive, in that many were
afraid during the Cold War that the Russians and Chinese had already developed weapons in this area.
The CIA realized that this technique could possibly be very beneficial towards our country, and
wanted to understand this process before other countries. With this tactic, the CIA thought they could
use brainwashing to their advantage and also create manchurian candidates. In the article, The Secret

create Manchurian Candidates so they could do all of their dirty work. It is truly wrong how the CIA
thought that committing crimes or doing illegal tasks using Manchurian Candidates was perfectly

The International Bill That Threatens Online Privacy Essay...
Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and Protect Intellectual Property Act (PIPA) were big bills recently in
the EU and America that caught the attention of nearly every internet user. It was hard to not notice
these two bills. These legislations would have pushed copyright infringement on many sites and much
of the internet as it is known would have been shut down. On January 18, big sites such as Wikipedia,
and Google blacked out their site for a day. This sent a loud and clear message to the creators of this
bill and they put it on indefinite hold. While this was happening another bill decided to raise its ugly

The bill was put on a supposed indefinite hold. ACTA was finally brought to the attention by the
general public. Much like SOPA and PIPA it would cause unnecessary jailing, for crimes that would
prove meager to most of the crime in the world today. ACTA is made not only for online copyright
problems, but also to work against smuggling, and piracy. There is nothing wrong with a well written
bill that would work against fighting those crimes and shutting down illegal pirating sites. The way
ACTA is written, it would put copyright infringement on many sites that people use on a daily basis. A
clip of a little kid singing a Hannah Montana song could possibly land some unsuspecting adolescent
in jail.
Despite that fact that ACTA was poorly written it does raise some pros and cons. Any Pro ACTA
individual will claim that by instigating the bill, it will create more jobs, thus work towards fixing the
economy. The bill would also help prevent people from illegally downloading copyrighted material,
smuggling, and counterfeiting. There is no major disagreement that Artists should have better
protection for their work, but there is a fine line between protecting rights, and being beyond
ridiculous. As for creating jobs, this sounds like another case of working with the Upper Class, and
ignoring the majority of people in Middle and Lower Class. The way the bill is written it threatens

The Impact Of Gaming On The Gaming Industry
Since the video game console industry had a narrow focus, the entire gaming industry was used for
this scenario planning exercise. The environmental scan focused mainly on the competitive aspect and
left out many external factors. In order to give adequate attention to the external environment, a
PESTEL analysis was conducted. This helped determine external factors that the gaming industry
faced that were not in control of a single company, or their competitors.
PESTEL
In the political aspect of PESTEL, the main focus was on globalization and product dispersion. Most
gaming devices are made overseas, China and Brazil, so international trade plays a major part in
acquiring these products (CITE FROM SCAN). Items like trade restrictions, import duties and
taxation are all things no competitor in the gaming console industry has control over. The legal section
shares many similarities to the political one. The main focus here was trade and internet regulations.
Gaming has shifted from being a solo action, to one played with others around the world. The top
economic concern in this industry is the amount disposable income available. Gaming is a luxury
good, so as income falls the sales of the product decreases as well (CITE). The economic growth,
interest, inflation, exchange rate and unemployment all have a huge impact on the industry. Since the
world is interconnected, if the exchange rate difference becomes great, cost burdens will have to be
passed onto the consumer.

The Presentation of Women in La Belle Dame Sans Merci and...
The Presentation of Women in La Belle Dame Sans Merci and Mariana Though both poems have the
common theme of unrequited love, Keats and Tennyson assign very different characteristics to the
women in their poems. In Mariana , the woman is submissive and a victim of cruelty, whereas La
Belle Dame in La Belle Dame Sans Merci is the more powerful of the man and woman in the poem,
and the one inflicting the cruelty. In both poems, the landscapes mirror these characteristics, and even
the feelings of these two women. The landscape is also symbolic of Mariana, as she is mortal and will

even La Belle Dame is unhappy, as she is forced to spend her whole life abandoning men, without

  • 2. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Dentures Say goodbye to your ill fitted, wobbly denture by getting a fixed permanent denture. These days, dentists use a variety of restorations to correct a patient s teeth and make his smile look attractive and natural. Unfortunately, some of the restorative dentistry procedures can be more complicated and take weeks and even months to complete. Since some procedures like dental implants can be considerably expensive, not all people are lucky to have fixed their teeth. Dentures have long been used as a cost effective replacement solution for missing teeth. But after some time this removable dental device starts to loosen and shifts, causing discomfort while eating, talking or laughing. Not only this, wearing removable dentures for long time can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dentures, which are removable artificial teeth, always need a fixative such as an adhesive paste or wafers to be held in place. Applying adhesives is generally not a pleasant experience as in addition to the bad taste the pasty substance produces uncomfortable feeling in the mouth. Also, the bond between gum and denture is not always secure and dentures often slip and move around when you laugh, cough, or eat, causing you a great deal of discomfort and embarrassment in social or public situations. Your gums and jawbone that supports the dentures are gradually eroded over a period of time and the device may not fit as well as it initially used to. Denture looseness and slippage can lead to gum irritation and sores, prompting you to return to the dentist for necessary adjustments. If poorly fitting or worn dentures are not replaced in time, they can lead to mouth sores, infections or problems with eating and speech. When a new set of dentures is inserted in the mouth it may feel a little odd and cause increased salivary secretions but these problems will diminish as your mouth gets adjusted to this ... • 3. The Importance Of Daily Life In The Middle Ages The newest piece of technology has just came out. This is a time machine that actually works and can send a person anywhere in time he or she wants. And you are the first person to experience this. You enter the capsule and hit a button and you re whisked away to the late 1300 s and the Middle Ages. You take a step out and what do you see? People working in the fields, with taller men watching them making sure they are doing their job. Men riding on horses in the woods out hunting. You don t know whats going on, you re head is spinning, why are these people acting like this? This is because of their position, what they are allowed to do, and how their daily life is like. Position in the Middle Ages feudal system affected the daily lives of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The peasants however could only eat what they harvested in their own fields and what was left if they worked for the lord (Galloway 20 21). They also could rarely eat meat, which was a huge luxury back then. They also had no refrigerators so many of the things peasants ate were stale food or spoiled food (Allen). Clean water was also a rarity. This was because water ways were not always clean and because many peasants used clean rivers as a place to dump their waste, there were no reliable sources for clean water in the Middle Ages (Allen). To solve this problem, brewers, or people who made a wine like drink called ale for living, used water and fermented fruits and was surprisingly cleaner than the water they had back then! Because of this, many peasants asked the brewers to make them ale and beaus of this, ale was the most popular dink for peasants and even the some of the nobles (Galloway). The peasants usually ate bread because thats what they could grow. Many peasants could only grow grain or barley and so they would take their crops to the miller who would grind the grain for you. However many millers were known as cheaters as they made the people pay more or they kept some of the flour for themselves or even both! (Galloway). • 5. The Omnivore s Dilemma Summary The author of The Omnivore s Dilemma, Michael Pollan stated, some possible ingredients in cattle feed from a CAFO were Chicken manure, cattle manure, chocolate, stale pastry, cement dust, molasses, candy, urea, hooves, feathers, meat scraps, fish meal, pasta, peanut skins, brewery wastes, cardboard, corn silage, and pesticides (49). These ingredients could have terrible effects on cattle raised in CAFOs or concentrated animal feeding operations and the people who eat them. The CAFOs, or feedlots, are giant places where thousands of cattle are confined to be fattened up for slaughter. In addition he stated there is another cost to raising cattle in CAFOs... these animals have evolved to eat grass. But in a CAFO they are forced to eat corn at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... coli people should not eat CAFO beef. E. coli is very dangerous if people get it; it is not worth the risk to eat CAFO beef. For example, U.S. researchers have found that high grain diets make E. coli more virulent (Smith). Considering that a cow s diet in a CAFO is loaded with extra grain E. coli will definitely be at a higher risk. Nancy Smith said, When cattle are fattened on grain, their digestive tracts become unusually acidic and kill off most of the E. coli. The bacteria that survive are those that have adapted themselves to an acidic environment (Smith). When Americans eat this beef people will get the resilient bacteria and become very sick or worse. A writer for the Chicago Tribune, Stephen Hedges, said, Tyson tests all raw beef components we know are destined for ground beef production, Mickelson said, adding that the program provides a 95 percent or greater assurance of finding E. coli (Hedges). Mickelson, a spokesman for Tyson, said that Tyson has very effective tests for catching E. coli, however the five percent that is not detected could cause harm. However, E. coli from feedlot beef can be deadly (Smith). If people eat CAFO beef they could get really sick or die. Obviously, E. coli poses a giant threat to people who eat CAFO beef so people should not eat this feedlot product to keep themselves ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Aristotle s Duality Of Virtue Ethics Aristotle s philosophy on virtue ethics involves the essence of what it means to be human, how to live the most fulfilling and effective life, and how this affects one s responsibility to others. This theory is applicable to virtually any profession, engineering included. As has been instilled in my perceptions about my chosen career field since my first day at Texas A M University, engineering is far beyond the intellect to do calculus and write computer code; engineering is making decisions that will affect countless others and could even hold others life at stake. For this reason, Aristotle s duality of intellectual and moral virtues deserves a more substantial introspective role in the engineering field. Within Nichomachean ethics, Aristotle ... The reason for this non exhaustive list of qualities is that an engineer needs to be able to work and do business with an array of people, and showing too much emotion or anger is generally unproductive for the group and can lead to serious interpersonal issues. Engineers should actively work to find ways to improve their skills, learning from all others, as well be humble enough to admit when somebody else has a better idea than them. Lastly, engineers should have a personal drive, a personal telos, to improve not only themselves but to improve society as a whole, be it via increasing the technological knowledge and capabilities or by providing aid during a humanitarian crisis. There is much that can be said of engineering in terms of Aristotle s theory of virtue ethics. Engineers must strive to attain a high level of virtuosity in both the intellectual and moral categories, as engineers can make decisions that affect the welfare and the very lives of those that use the products of their labor. While Texas A M University does present many relevant virtues to its students in their coursework, these are mostly intellectual virtues; moral virtues will have to come through practice in each of our individual ... • 8. Essay On The Effect Of Sucrose Concentration On Rate Of... Effects of Sucrose Concentration on Rate of Diffusion Through Osmosis Introduction: Many human beings undergo dialysis to filter waste from their blood due to the fact that their kidneys are not working properly. The blood is filtered through a selectively permeable membrane which separates waste from the blood, essentially pumping clean blood back into the body. This is a form of osmosis, which by definition, is the net movement of water across a selectively permeable membrane, which was our dialysis bag in this experiment. (Eisenbach et al. 2017). Showing the importance of the type of selectively permeable membrane used as it allows different substances to go through it. People who have kidney failure or a kidney disease can become dependent on the use of dialysis to keep them alive. The rate for those who need dialysis and hospitalization continues to grow as these patients fall victim to cardiovascular disease and infection such as sepsis (Thompson and Pannu 2011). Factors that increase the effects of osmosis include temperature, as temperature increases salt transport, and plays a role in water flux, water viscosity, and osmotic pressure (Zhao and Zou 2011). • 9. The Killer Angels By John M. Skipper Essay History 1301 John M. Skipper The Killer Angels is a historic backstory of the days leading up to the Civil War. The story is told from multiple viewpoints including Robert E. Lee, James Longstreet, George Meade, and Winfield Scott Hancock. It is mentioned the Army of Northern Virginia is moving behind the Blue Ridge Mountains, and that the Army of Potomac is also moving, but is traveling very slow. This is one of the characteristics which plagued them throughout the war. Shaara gives insight to the background of both Armies. He described the Confederates as a unified group with soldiers of the same background, while the Union is the exact opposite. Its men are very divided soldiers fighting for unification. There is one similarity between the two sides which stands out more than all the others; both sides are ready for the final showdown. Shaara gives insight into this by hinting towards the conflict, yet never telling the reader directly. This causes the reader to be drawn deeper into the story anticipating what will happen next. There are illustrations showing movement of the Confederate and the Union armies, an epilogue, and an afterword stating the events after the Battle of Gettysburg. In the foreword, Sharra tells the reader the purpose of the book is to educate the reader on the history of the battle, but also give insight into the soldier s thoughts. Sharra also writes that out of all the historic writings about the battle, he chose to use letters, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Radio Free Dixie Critical Analysis: Radio Free Dixie The beginning of black militancy in the United States is said to have begun with the chants Black Power demanded by Stokely Carmichael and Willie Ricks during the 1966 March against Fear. In Timothy Tyson s book: Radio Free Dixie: Robert F. For example, detailing Williams life back to the ideologies of his grandparents, his childhood, experiences with racial injustice and his military career allowed for a deeper understanding of his transformation in to a militant black leader. Another effective tactic Tyson used to depict Williams life was to focus his relationships with several other prominent black leaders at the time.; Roy Wilkins, Dr. King, Thurgood Marshall etc. This allows the reader to find parallels and better understand the complexities of the black freedom struggle. Tyson highlights the incongruity in strategy and ideology in his detailing of these relationships yet maintains his central thesis that in the end they were all fighting for the same thing. The life of Robert Williams underlines many aspects of the ongoing black freedom struggle: The decisive racial significance of World War II and the impact of the Cold war on the Freedom Struggle and equally important the centrality of questions of sexuality and gender in racial politics. ... The reason the British were in Massachusetts in the first place was because the people of Massachusetts were very rebellious and have had many violent resistances against the British already. This completely goes against the British evidence which clearly says that they did not give the command to fire and were giving orders to not fire. Also, since he was captured by the colonists, he obviously wants to say something that pleases them since they are his audience. That makes his evidence unreliable since he could have made that up to please the colonists who had captured him. The First Of A New Historical Period With the repeated financial crises that effected the global market economy in resent years, and with the realization that many of the practices, behaviors, and political decision that led to the economic crisis in the first place are still in place, one can only wonder if capitalism as an economic, social, and political structure is coming to an end as we know it? What makes this predication more realistic now than ever is the political changes that we are witnessing and the lack of social stability that is affecting every corner of the planet; it seems that the seeds of change were already planted, and now we are witnessing the early stages of a new historical period. However, a system, like capitalism, that became part of the very nature of how societies function and exist is hard to overcome. In addition, this unstable era is not the first for the capitalist system. In fact, lack of stability and conflict during WWII only allowed capitalist countries, such as the U.S. and Japan, to emerge stronger, more dominant, and more hegemonic. Thus, why would this period of time could by any different from the previous crises that the capitalist system faced and overcame? These debates have dominated the political economy field in the recent years, and in this paper, I will attempt to cover some of the main argument in support of each of these points of view. Many argued that capitalism, as we know it, in all of it variations and models, has came to an end. Capitalism, as Marx had ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Problem Of E Waste E Waste may be described as a broad and growing range of electronics ranging from large household devices such as refrigerators, air conditioners, cell phones, personal stereos and consumer electronics to computers, which have been discarded by their users. (Puckett and Smith, 2002). While this description is accurate, it is slightly ambiguous about the length of time before a device can actually be considered waste. Often, owners discard their electronics long before they have reached the end of their actual life cycle in order to upgrade to a newer model. In most cases the outgoing device finds its way into the used market. This may prolong the life of the product by a few years, however all electronic items eventually reach a point ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With devices becoming increasingly affordable, the replacement time for common consumer electronics has also become shorter. Planned obsolescence is a significant contributor to the increase in purchase of consumer electronics. Many companies these days limit software updates and features to only a handful of new phones or tablets they offer, thus perpetuating the need to go out and purchase the new model. The average use time before a consumer replaces their mobile phone is only 18 months even though it s actual life cycle may be much longer than that. PCs and laptops are usually considered outdated within 3 4 years of purchase and are then replaced by their owners for newer and faster models. Studies have estimated e waste generation worldwide at 20 to 50 million tonnes per year with a steady increase of 8% to 10% annually. One of the methods to estimate the potential volume of e waste in the present and the future is by analyzing sales figures of commercial electronics. By taking into account how much we are buying, we may be able to approximate how much will be added to this waste stream a few years down the line when newly purchased devices become obsolete and are discarded. • 29. Birthday By Dorothea Tanning Summary Dorothea Tanning s painting Birthday from 1942 is an oil on canvas self portrait. The painting s prominent subject is a woman who is standing alone to the left of the canvas. She is dressed uniquely in a dark brown ruffled skirt that reaches all the way to her calves. On the sides of her skirt, there is an abundance of vine like roots overflowing from the back towards the front. Her top is an open, purple, green and white decorative jacket; revealing her bosom, chest and some of her torso. With her left hand, she is holding onto one of the many doors that are behind her yet she is looking off in a different direction from these doors. The woman has no shoes on and to the right of her feet is an animal that looks like a combination of a cat and bat that has big yellow eyes and large wings. The outfit choice of the woman reflects not only modernity but also antiquity thus, making the time represent the turn of the century. This combination of modernity and antiquity reveals something new which attributes to the portraits name, Birthday. Behind the woman and animal beside her, is a long hallway that seems to be never ending of open doors; showing that the paintings setting is indoors. The exact location is unidentifiable because there is no furniture to indicate where she is, which signifies a sense of isolation. Though the look on the woman s face and the hallway of doors initially give a perception of loneliness and unknowingness, the colors, composition, and lines create a ... • 31. Examples Of Leadership In Animal Farm By George Orwell An Inept Leader: Calamity for a Nation and its People The state of a nation primarily reflects the strength and aptness of its leader; a weak leader submits their nation into an abysmal state, whereas a great one promotes progress. In Orwell s novella, Animal Farm, the animals of inferior intelligence comply with their vehement leader, Napoleon, who initially demonstrates strong qualities as a leader. However, Napoleon s leadership succumbs to corruption as he gradually implements unprincipled authoritarian rules that primarily benefit the pigs at the expense of the working class. Similarly, past leaders have displayed abuse of power for personal gain. Through his accurate incorporation of Czar Nicholas II s traits into Napoleon s disposition, Orwell articulates how negligent leadership jeopardizes a nation and its citizens, such as Turkmenistan under Saparmurad Niyazov s reign. Czar Nicholas II crippled Russia by misusing his power in authority: he disregarded the harsh working conditions and poor health of his citizens and sought control through violent means. Under his reign, the Czar s citizens faced severe conditions, and although widespread malnourishment was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The next morning, I got up early and got ready to go watch surgeries. I was so excited I got there an hour early. Walking into the hospital was a little nerve wracking. • 33. Taking a Look at Conspiracy Theories In today s modern world it seems as if all major events have an official story, and another often less credible story pursued by doubters and sceptics of the government or the details in the story. These sceptics are more often than not referred to as conspiracy theorists. The issue that arises with these conspiracy theories is that while some sound over the top ridiculous, some have turned out to be all but true. For this reason, conspiracies are often controversial, they make serious issues into a fairytale, or a simple non serious event into a serious concerns. These theories are the result of paranoia regardless of their truth, they are often formed on assumptions, absence of information, and fear. For these reasons a conspiracy can be formed around nearly any situation, disaster or event. Conspiracy theories are not just a modern phenomenon either, and they can be found throughout human history, but with today s technology it has become easier than every to spread these ideas around. These ideas propagate due to the culture surrounding the world, and the fear individuals have of the unknown. Many people prefer elaborate stories over simple explanations, especially when they feel their government is behind the event. Misunderstanding, disbelief, denial, fear and human abilities and emotion play into why and how these conspiracy theories emerge. Theories based outside of definite fact, or the accepted explanation has been occurring as far back as history goes. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and Protect Intellectual Property Act (PIPA) were big bills recently in the EU and America that caught the attention of nearly every internet user. It was hard to not notice these two bills. These legislations would have pushed copyright infringement on many sites and much of the internet as it is known would have been shut down. On January 18, big sites such as Wikipedia, and Google blacked out their site for a day. This sent a loud and clear message to the creators of this bill and they put it on indefinite hold. While this was happening another bill decided to raise its ugly head. It had been lurking in the shadows of the other two bills and would prove to be a much more immense monster to face. Much like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The bill was put on a supposed indefinite hold. ACTA was finally brought to the attention by the general public. Much like SOPA and PIPA it would cause unnecessary jailing, for crimes that would prove meager to most of the crime in the world today. ACTA is made not only for online copyright problems, but also to work against smuggling, and piracy. There is nothing wrong with a well written bill that would work against fighting those crimes and shutting down illegal pirating sites. The way ACTA is written, it would put copyright infringement on many sites that people use on a daily basis. A clip of a little kid singing a Hannah Montana song could possibly land some unsuspecting adolescent in jail. Despite that fact that ACTA was poorly written it does raise some pros and cons. Any Pro ACTA individual will claim that by instigating the bill, it will create more jobs, thus work towards fixing the economy. The bill would also help prevent people from illegally downloading copyrighted material, smuggling, and counterfeiting. There is no major disagreement that Artists should have better protection for their work, but there is a fine line between protecting rights, and being beyond ridiculous. • 40. The Impact Of Gaming On The Gaming Industry Since the video game console industry had a narrow focus, the entire gaming industry was used for this scenario planning exercise. The environmental scan focused mainly on the competitive aspect and left out many external factors. In order to give adequate attention to the external environment, a PESTEL analysis was conducted. This helped determine external factors that the gaming industry faced that were not in control of a single company, or their competitors. PESTEL In the political aspect of PESTEL, the main focus was on globalization and product dispersion. Most gaming devices are made overseas, China and Brazil, so international trade plays a major part in acquiring these products (CITE FROM SCAN). Items like trade restrictions, import duties and taxation are all things no competitor in the gaming console industry has control over. The legal section shares many similarities to the political one. The main focus here was trade and internet regulations. Gaming has shifted from being a solo action, to one played with others around the world. The top economic concern in this industry is the amount disposable income available. Gaming is a luxury good, so as income falls the sales of the product decreases as well (CITE). The Presentation of Women in La Belle Dame Sans Merci and Mariana Though both poems have the common theme of unrequited love, Keats and Tennyson assign very different characteristics to the women in their poems. In Mariana , the woman is submissive and a victim of cruelty, whereas La Belle Dame in La Belle Dame Sans Merci is the more powerful of the man and woman in the poem, and the one inflicting the cruelty. In both poems, the landscapes mirror these characteristics, and even the feelings of these two women.
