Wal-Mart Health Care Dilemma
Running Head: Case Analysis
Case Analysis Report
Wal Mart
Wal Mart Health Care Dilemma
There have been some concerns about Wal Mart s treatment of its employees, suppliers, the
environment, and the overall economic impact on communities. Wal Mart has been criticized by some
community groups, women s rights groups, grassroots organizations, and labor unions, specifically for
its extensive foreign product sourcing, low wages, low rates of employee health insurance enrollment,
resistance to union representation, sexism, and management efforts to pressure employees to vote for
specific parties during national elections. Wal Mart, one of the world s largest retailers, has the
reputation of paying its employees poorly, along with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By comparison, the average spending per employee in the wholesale/retailing sector was $4,800. For
U.S. employers in general, the average was $5,600 per employee (Miller, 2004, p 8).
Key Stakeholders
With any business there are always stakeholders. These people are influenced by businesses. However,
they also have the ability to influence businesses. Consequently, the relationship between businesses
and stakeholders is a two way street. According to Ferrell, Ferrell, and Fraedrich (2010),
In a business context, customers, investors and shareholders, employees, suppliers, government
agencies, communities, and many others who have a stake or claim in some aspect of a company s
product, operations, markets, industry, and outcome are known as stakeholders (p. 30).
Although most corporations have emphasized shareholders as the most important stakeholder group,
the failure to consider all significant stakeholders can lead to ethical lapses. Stakeholders are likely to
shift their prospective of a company after unethical actions have been exposed to the public. The key
stakeholders in this situation are the Wal Mart associates, taxpayers, and shareholders. The stakeholder
model of corporate social responsibility considers obligations firms may face as moral agents to
employees, customers and other stakeholders. Most employees rely on their employer to provide some
type of health care benefits because most cannot afford health

Insider Trading Regulations And The Enforcement Deficits...
Insider Trading Regulations and the Enforcement Deficits in New Zealand Insider trading refers to the
trading of a listed company s stock or other financial securities by individuals who has access to non
public material information about the company. This action often occurs within employees/ex
employees of the listen company. Information is considered to be non public material information if
making it public would affect the price of securities, and using such information in decisions to buy or
sell financial securities would be unfair to non insiders (Bainbridge, 2013). Insider trading is treated as
a mischief in more than 90 countries, and defendants are imposed with penalties (Beny, 2012).
Specific insider conduct regulations in New Zealand were first enacted in 1988, followed by
amendments in 2002, 2006 and 2008. The insider conduct regimes between 1988 and 2008 are often
considered as a failure due to weak enforcements. Thus in 2008, the regulator introduced a new
regime, which was a close model to the Australian insider conduct legislation. Both regimes are
expansive, meaning it could be applied to any person in possession of insider information. However,
while the Australian laws were aggressively enforced (more than 26 prosecutions were brought since
then), no prosecutions have been launched under the new legislation in New Zealand. In addition,
New Zealand also had no convictions secured prior to 2008, illustrating a clear enforcement deficit in

Main Aspects Of Vendors And Packages
IV. Vendor Comparisons Below is a table comparing the various key aspects of vendors and packages
they offer. Table 2 summarizes the main added media channels supported by these contact center
packages. A checkmark in this table indicates areas that we consider fully addressed in an off the shelf
manner; otherwise, comments provide a brief explanation. There are other media channels that aren t
reflected in Table 2 including fax capabilities, which is broadly supported by all these package
offerings. Another up and coming feature is the ability for desktop sharing, where an agent may aid a
customer in completing a form by sharing the mouse and keystrokes. Because of its nature and
thought of security concerns it is used sparingly. Total Cost The following table (table 3) is a
comparison of the major cost components. These are U.S. List prices, and may not always compare
the same configurations, functions, or features. In some cases, the incremental per agent charge is
based on total defined agent seats, while in others it is based on concurrently logged in agents, or
ports. Pricing shown is U.S. List, per seat or per concurrent agent (per port), for software only (unless
noted otherwise) While they vary considerably in some architectural respects, contact centers utilize
many of the same subsystems and components regardless of the vendor. Specific architecture can be
different per vendor based on requirements and the packages chosen for the

John Scopes Inherit The Wind
Inherit the Wind Rough Draft The Play Inherit the Wind is very similar to many different events in
history, such as the Scopes trial, or even the McCarthy trials. In the famous Scopes trial or Monkey
trial, John Scopes was caught teaching evolution to his biology students. Not long before the trial,
Darwin s Theory of Evolution had been published. Darwin s novel contained a newly formed idea that
man was created from gradual evolution. The idea caused an outrage from several Christian religious
groups, because it went against the book of Genesis in the Bible. This discontent grew so much that
the state of Tennessee passed a law on evolution. This law prohibited the teaching of evolution, with a
$500 dollar fine per violation. The Scopes trial led the most famous lawyers of the time to ... Show

To break this law was a minor offense, but it would shake America. Scopes lost the trial, but he
showcased a point to the world. The play writers used the Scopes trial to warn of the McCarthy trails,
which were happening when it was written. He argued that he had the freedom of speech to teach what
he wanted. This is very similar to Inherit the Wind in which Bertram Cates, also intentionally breaks
the laws because he believes that he should be able to teach what he wants. In the play, the prosecutor,
Mathew Harrison Brady, is a very religious man who believes very strongly in the Bible. He is a priest
and basks in popularity and adoration. He is very similar to the prosecutor in the Scopes trial, who is
also a religious and popular man. Through the play Inherit the Wind, Mathew Harrison Brady held
onto the old ways too tightly, he built his beliefs and life around love and adoration from others, and

The Atomic Bomb Essay
In this paper, it will be discussed why the Atomic Bomb is the biggest method of destruction known to
man. The paper will be discussing the results of the Atomic Bombs, along with the effects years after
the initial explosion. People always wonder how many people actually died in the two
Atomic Bombs which were dropped in Japan. This question will be answered, along with the method
that citizens were actually killed by the bomb. Besides the initial blast winds that an Atomic Bomb
gives off, people may be killed by several other things including heat rays, radiation and the implosion
of their home.

In the two bombings there was a large gap in the number of people that died. In Hiroshima the city
population at the time of the bombing was 310,000, The estimated deaths was
90,000 140,000 people. As for the Nagasaki bombing, the city population before the bombing was
250,000. The estimated number of deaths was 60,000 80,000 people.
Notice that the word, quot;estimated quot;, was used for both amounts of deaths. The reason for this is
because, the number of deaths cannot be precisely known because records of military personnel in
each city were destroyed.
There have been several comparisons between the damage capabilities of the two bombs. First of all,
it was said that to achieve maximum blast effect, the bomb had been set to detonate 1800 feet over
Hiroshima. This is approximately
548 meters. The bomb in Hiroshima reached a height of
580+/ 15 meters. As for the bomb in Nagasaki, it reached a height of 500+/ 10 meters. The radius in
which ceramic roof tiles melted was 600m in the Hiroshima bombing and 1000m in the Nagasaki
bombing. The radius in which granite stone melted was 1,000m for the Hiroshima bomb and 1,600m
for the Nagasaki bomb. What can be determined from these statistics is that the Nagasaki bomb has
much stronger heat rays in it, and in turn would destroy more territory and kill more people. As said
earlier in this essay, the location of
Nagasaki prevented that. It was said that when

Long Term Consequences Of Child Abuse Essay
Long Term Consequences of Child Abuse
Introduction
Child abuse has infested the United States of America; it is now more common than ever before, and
sometimes it may not be known that this issue is occurring. In most cases, it is obvious to the child
and sometimes to his surrounding support; although in few cases, the child may not be capable of
comprehending the issue at hand to further tell and report the situation (Shi 198). There is an error in
the method used to study how often child abuse occurs. The problem is that this method still lacks a
step to be able to understand the horrendous experience that children endure (Shi 198).
Child maltreatment is a sensitive subject to many. Child maltreatment is basically known as any type
of abuse affecting the child. It is only defined as follows: the child is left with potential harm of health,
developmental and survival processes, or behavioral dignity in relationships and trust (Norman 2). The
issue of child abuse has negatively affected numerous home lives. This situation will affect each child
differently, and children could be left with permanent and long term damage (Norman 2). Children
who have experienced abuse continue to hurt by experiencing long term physical, societal,
psychological, and behavioral effects to deal with for years to come and quite possibly the rest of their
lives.
What are the Basic Areas of Long Term Consequences?

What Is The Overall Process Of Memory Formation
Memories include many different stages of memory formation such as sensory memory, short term
memory and long term memory, which requires an intensive cascade of neuronal signalling in many
different regions in the brain in order to process. This brain wide process of memory formation
functions with each element of a memory (sights, sensations, emotions, sounds) being encoded in its
respective region of the brain that processes these responses and result in a reactivation of the same
neural patterns during recollection. Thus, this demonstrates the overall process of memory formation
which incorporates its ability to encode, store and recall information (Gibbs, M. E. Ng, K. T.,1977).

So This Is Nibraska
So this is Nebraska is a poem by Ted Kooser in the postmodern age. The poem had been written in
present tense, probably to emphasize the current state of rural Nebraska, which is a small village in
America.
The poem describes a Sunday afternoon in July in Nebraska and this is mentioned in the third stanza
of the poem all the other descriptive language in the poem is used to explain this setting.
The very first paragraph is a compound complex sentence. The purpose of this is to slow the pace of
the poem. In the first line the gravel road rides, the road is being personified, further description of
telephone lines is given to create the image of a long monotones. A visual image below of dust and

Tactile imagery is used with the phrase squeezing the air, this immediately makes the reader identify
with the environment and feel like he/she is there in Nebraska. In the 4th line of this stanza
anthropomorphism has been used because the meadowlarks are waiting and the author had given them
human qualities. The word waiting suggests that it is very still and silent in Nebraska.
The fourth stanza talks about a shelterbelt of cedars and a visual image is used here to make the trees
seem big and protected. An auditory image is used to describe the staring up of the engine of the pick
up truck.
The 5th stanza the phrase you feel has been repeated several times to elaborate the feeling that the u in
the poem is yearning to feel which is laid back and care free. The 5th stanza also suggests that the u in
the poem wants to fit into the environment. The phrase tires go flat implies silence and lack of
movement. The 5th stanza is also one big long compound complex, which runs into the next stanza to
slow the pace and contribute to this feeling of silence. The tone of this stanza is laid back suggesting
that the u in the poem wants to be off card and calm. The 6th stanza starts with an onomatopoeic word
clucking to describe the various sounds in the environment. The narrator says that the u in the poem
feels like holding a skinny old man in his/her lap... Waiting for someone to wave to.

Narrative Essay On Clarity
It all started out on July 21st of 1987 when I first noticed my boy, Ethan who named me Toby. As I
watched Ethan grow and figure out his life, I protected and cared for him. I believe that was my
purpose to serve for him. When I died, I felt satisfied thinking that I had served my purpose, but I was
unaware of many new people to meet and for more adventures that were ahead of me. In a later life
when I was named Buddy, I remember being the companion of someone I have met before. She was a

What set the Cistercian order apart from other monastic...
The speed, extent and tenacity of Cistercian expansion was by all accounts extraordinary, and one that
seemed to differ greatly from the other monastic movements of the twelfth century. Their growth from
one to seven foundations, to more than three hundred in the space of fifty years was almost entirely
unexpected by contemporary standards. However, when one delves into the history of the order and
looks at the factors that differentiated it from other similar monastic institutions of the same period
one begins to see a number of portentous factors that undoubtedly contributed to such explosive
growth.
Perhaps one reason for Cistercian expansion was the Social Catholicity of it s appeal. This was

feel best describes the intentions of the early Cistercians. It was the aim of the Cistercians to run
counter to the established habits and intellectual developments of western Christendom.
Another feature of the Cistercians that was certainly different to other twelfth century monastic
movements was in it s organisation and structure. In Western Society and the Church in the middle

Socrates Vs Niccolo Machiavelli Essay
Socrates and Niccolo Machiavelli are revered as some of the most influential thinkers of their
respective times. Both of these thinkers developed their thoughts while Athens and Florence, their
respective cities, faced political unrest. By questioning the people of Athens through their period of
turmoil following a shift in government, Socrates was able to formulate opinions regarding how a
government should operate and how people should rule. Centuries later during the Renaissance era,
Machiavelli s Italy was in a divided state with the Medici family holding rule over his native Florence.
It was during this period when Machiavelli s harsh views on how a prince should obtain power and

Socrates would view Machiavelli s prince as unnecessarily strict and limiting to the knowledge that
people crave to possess. Machiavelli s leanings towards the state over the individual starkly contrast
Socrates quest for individual knowledge through questioning.
Throughout his trial in Athens and when facing execution, Socrates solidly stuck beside his belief that
life without this sort of examination is not worth living (Apology, 38a). Socrates deeply believed in
philosophy. He spent his whole life seeking wisdom through moral and political questions and even
when addressing a jury with the possibility of execution looming over him he declared I shall never
stop practicing philosophy and exhorting you and indicating the truth for everyone (Apology, 29d).
The truth and the means of finding it were the most important thing to Socrates. Even though
questioning was Socrates way to achieve power, he still believed in following the law. Practicing free
speech and resisting political tyranny are not harmful as long as they fall within the constraints of the
law. In explaining to Crito why escaping execution was not an option, Socrates questions Crito saying,
Do you imagine that a city can continue to exist and not be turned upside down, if the legal
judgements which are pronounced in it have no force but are nullified and destroyed (Crito, 50b). In

It is also more likely for firms to operate against the public interest. Therefore, governments often ban
firms from operating as a monopoly by implementing a competition policy. An example of such
implementation can be seen in Britain s grocery industry. According to the news articles of The
Financial Times on November 21, 2003, Morrison won the battle of bidding for Safeway with a £2.9

Britain s grocery industry. Tesco owns 26% of the market and Asda possesses 16% of the market.
Asda is owned by American supermarket giant Wal Mart which aims to be the No.1 in Britain s

Hunting Persuasive
Hunting is a great sport. There are people who spend their entire year waiting on the next hunting
season to come along. They often strive to catch the biggest, most beautiful buck that they can find. It
is often enough to provide food for their family and friends throughout the season when they are
unable to hunt. The biggest problem with this is keeping your game fresh until you can get it back out
of the woods.
Gone Huntin
Hunting is a great way to get out into the world. It is something that make bonding with other men
easier and gives them a way to compete with one another to see who can bring in the biggest. It also
means getting out into nature, and in some cases; you may have to venture way out into the woods
where vehicles are unable to go. This can make keeping your catch a little difficult. To carry large
game, you would need a large cooler, but they can often be too heavy to carry deep into the woods, but
to stay fresh; it needs to be iced quickly. How do you handle it?

This allows you to get rid of the waste and it does help to keep the meat fresh. The main goal of this is
often to let it bleed out so that it does not end up tasting bad from adrenaline. However, some hunters
go the extra mile if they are completely out in the woods where their trucks cannot go. They go ahead
and cut it up for individual meals that they can prepare when they get to camp or back home. These
hunters know that icing the meat down is the key and often carry along a cooler for backpacking that
makes it easier on them to do

Robert Peary Research Paper
On April 6, 1909, Robert Peary planted an American flag on the top of the world. Peary had wanted to
travel north since his youth. He had tried the journey years before but had to retreat. This time, he
believed he had reached the North Pole. Or had he? How would he know?
2As a Smithsonian historian explains, it can be difficult to know when you have reached the North
Pole because it lies on drifting sea ice . . . there is no way to mark the spot, because the ice is
constantly moving. Years ago, when Peary traveled, it was difficult to confirm exact measurements.
Peary marked his position by noting shadows made by the sun. Peary was the only person who knew
how to navigate on the journey. No one could check his measurements.

The Papillion is a toy spaniel that takes its name from the French word for butterfly. This dog is often
referred to as the butterfly dog because of the manner in which his ears are set on the head and fringed
like a butterfly s wings. He is affectionate, full of life, and a good house dog. He is resilient, whelps
easily, does well in obedience classes, and easily adapts to the extremes of different climates. His
attractive look and friendly nature makes him an ideal family pet. But like many toy breeds, he has a
tendency to be very possessive of his owners and often resents visitors to his home. Size: His ideal

My Brother Sam Is Dead by Lincoln Collier and Christopher Collier is a novel about a boy named
Tim and his mother, Susannah Meeker, and his father, Eliphalet Life Meeker, and their journey
throughout war when their oldest son, Sam, goes off and fights in the American Revolution. The novel
starts off with Sam returning home after being away for a long time serving his country in the war and
college. His surprise homecoming was fun at first, until he and his father started getting into it because
of their different opinions on the war. Sam believes that Redding isn t free and that their king should
not rule their land because he lives 3000 miles away from Redding. He also believes that the king is
giving them unfair taxes that is making them richer that they already are. On the other hand, his father
disagrees completely. He thinks that everyone should obey the king and that his taxes aren t really that
bad. Later on, while doing chores, Sam confides in Tim his plan to steal their father s gun in order to
fight. Tim protests, but he can do ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The History of Christian Art and Structure
After Christ s death, in the first centuries, the Christians were oppressed and considered enemies of
the state. Because of this fact, they kept their tradition and art as a secret. Around the year 313, the
Christianity was proclaimed as the official religion by the Emperor Constantine, and Constantinople
became the second capital of the Roman empire. This was the period when the Byzantine art began to
grow. The art consists on usage of the mosaic techniques to create episodes of Christianity life in big

My Pretivation Of Early Child Observation
My observation took place in 3 4 yrs. old preschool class. During my observation, there were 2
teachers and 7 children.
Teacher directed experience This observation part took place during circle time. The children sat down
in a large circle carpet, each on a letter. One of the teachers sat directly across the children, with her
back facing the calendar. The other teacher sat down in between two children. All the windows were
open and there was music playing softly in the background, as they got ready to start. Teacher began
by singing and playing the Good morning song, while signing the song. Children follow the teacher
and began to sing, and make movements with their hands to follow along. They proceeded by singing
the days of the week, months of the year, What s the weather songs. Following by going over the
seasons, month and day of the week. Consequently, teacher followed by reading a story for the
children. She used a felt board to assist her with the story. She read, Five Little Monkeys Jumping on
the Bed. She smiled as she told the story, and tucked the monkeys behind her back as they fell off.
Teacher provided opportunities for children to collaborate on solving how many monkeys were left.
The children were engaged in the story, and smiled and sang as she told the story.

The Social Pathology Of Suicide By Emile Durkheim
Emile Durkheim studies the social pathology of suicide in detail. Through the use of both excessive
and insufficient social integration we can grasp suicide in a social context. Durkheim uses the example
of suicide among Jews, Protestants and Catholics within varying cultures and social settings. This
allows us to understand the rates and causes of suicide and how they differ across the three religions.
Protestants have always had more of an appetite for suicide than the Jewish and Catholic community
(Durkheim, Emile, A Study in Sociology, London: The Free Press, 1951). It is only on some occasions
that this is reversed. Up until the middle of the 19th century, Catholics have committed suicide more
than Jews in all countries, except for in Bavaria. Both Catholicism and Judaism teach strict disciplines
in their individual religions. They both teach self control and obedience, and due to this suicide is
often condemned. Along with this, these religions are often the minority within certain societies across
the globe. Durkheim invites us to investigate the rates and causes of their suicides with these factors in
play. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yet here we see that they kill themselves only one third as often as Protestants (Durkheim, Emile, A
Study in Sociology, London: The Free Press, 1951). In Bavaria we see a decline in the difference as
two thirds of the population are among the Catholic community. Suicides of the latter party are only
100 to 275 of those of the Protestant community (Durkheim, Emile, A Study in Sociology, London:
The Free Press, 1951). These statistics greatly contrast to those found in Austria, which is almost
entirely made up of Catholics. A rate of only 155 Protestant to 100 Catholic suicides exist. This shows
that Protestant suicides increase when they re a minority (Durkheim, Emile, A Study in Sociology,

Gender And Gender Socialization
Gender is defined by the Merriam Webster dictionary as the behavioral, cultural, or psychological
traits typically associated with one sex (2017). Gender and the way we carry out gender have been
linked to many different terms to try to create a better understanding of why we have or do gender
accordingly to what was assigned at birth. Through the process of gender socialization, a plethora of
social norms and expectations are bestowed upon all individuals as early as when an embryo s sex is
determined. To further describe and understand the prevalence of gender and its socialization I spent a
night and a day with my little cousins Leah age 5 (Female) and Landon age 4 (Male). They are a part
of a biracial four family member household in which their dad works full time and is the sole earner of
resources and their mom is in school and works a part time job. I believe the structure of their family
is modeled as the typical American Family and as far as their family s classification in an economic
class, they would be considered Upper Middle class. After taking their economic class into
consideration I have realized that these children are and will be able to gain access to more resources
associated with gender than their lower classed counter parts. Not meaning that they will be more
aware of how their gender is supposed to act but they will have access more access to resources like
being able to obtain psychological help and education.

Bowfishing Research Paper
Basic Bowfishing Accessories Nearly every task is made easier by the presence of a few well chosen
accessories, in addition to the main tools you are going to use. For example, if you are making
candles, you need nothing beyond wax, wicks, a melter, a thermometer, and a mold. However,
accessories such as gloves to protect you from splashes, a bottle of olive oil to help the candles come
loose, and so forth will make your job easier and more pleasant. Similarly, you can paint a ceiling
without a shower cap to protect your hair and drop cloths to shield the floor, but the results are better
if these accessories are present. Bowfishing is no exception to this rule. Although the only absolutely
necessary items are a bow, a set of arrow, and a reel, there are perhaps half a dozen or a dozen items
that will make the experience much easier and far more enjoyable. These accessories give you a boost
in many different ways, from allowing you to carry out simple field repairs on your equipment, to just
making you more comfortable and, after all, bowfishing is supposed to be enjoyable. ... Show more

Gambling In The United States
Betting on sports is a popular entertainment in the U.S. But sports betting is gambling, which has long
been deemed by state and federal governments to be a vice from which American citizens require
protection. In an attempt to limit the availability of sports betting , a 1992 federal law, the Professional
and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA), made sports betting illegal in all but four grandfathered
states (Nevada, Oregon, Montana and Delaware). At the time, only Nevada had true single team sports
wagering. With the advent of the Internet a year or two later, legal online betting began in 1994, when
Antigua and Barbuda passed a law that allowed licenses for opening online casinos. By 1997, more

Amber Fishing Research Paper
Although tourists come to Pedasi for a variety of reasons, probably the biggest attraction is its sport
fishing trips. In fact Pedasi is considered the top saltwater fishing spot for tuna, giving it the nickname
of The Tuna Coast. If you love to fish for tuna, here are some of the fish you can catch, besides some
fishing tips, so your Pedasi sport fishing trip is a dream vacation. Fish Avaialbe to Catch There are
many types of fish that you can catch here throughout the year. Some of these species include
amberjack, Pacific sailfish, Cubersnapper, roosterfish, grouper, Pacific Barracuda, and Sierra
mackerel. As the weather gets cooler, some of the more seasonal species found from November

Butterfly jigging has a zigzagging, fluttering motion, which cuts deep into the water that attracts fish
more than using traditional deep jigs. . Yellowfin Tuna This species, which has the brightest colors of
all other types of tunas, is so named for its golden yellow stripe on the fish s upper sides, along with
its bright yellow fins. Some of the largest yellowfin tuna, weighing more than 200 pounds, can be
found here in the waters of Pedasi. As for bait, sardines and anchovies work effectively for smaller
fish, while Pacific mackerel are more suited for the larger ones. Yellowfin tunas also eat squid. If you
don t have any live bait, try a method called chunking: in which you cut off chunks of large fish bait
and then toss it in the water. Just remember that tuna don t nibble. Just as bigeye tunas, yellowfin
tunas are difficult to pull. Once they get close to your boat, they tend to flip sideways, swimming in
big circles, so that it can take a long time to pull them into your boat. It s actually better to aim for
smaller fish as the bigger ones require more energy to capture.

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower Research Paper
Nora Roberts says, The wounded recognized the wounded. The Perks Of Being A Wallflower written
by Stephen Chbosky is a novel in which the narrator, known as Charlie, is an introvert teenage boy
who tells his experiences throughout a series of letters to an anonymous stranger. Years after its first
published copy in 1999, the novel reached The New York Times Best Seller list after a film version
was made. Charlie is a freshman in high school that struggles a lot with personality and shyness
issues. After being raped by his favorite aunt when he was a kid, Charlie develops a silent depression.
Chbosky highlights the reason of Charlie s shyness, how his friendship with Sam and Patrick saves
him, and the reason why he falls in love with Sam. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Charlie has difficulties making friends since his background does not allow him to be a social person.
One of the reasons is that a year before, his only friend in middle school, Michael, commits suicide.
The second reason is the death of his Aunt Helen (his favorite aunt). This event creates a negative
impact on Charlie s life. All these factors contribute to Charlie s shyness, but the real reason of his
introvert personality is due to his Aunt Helen. The author does not tell the reader, but one can come to
the conclusion that early in Charlie s life his aunt abuses him. He previously has suicidal attempts
because he gets to think that Aunt Helen s death is his fault. Being so young and naïve, he does not
acknowledge that his favorite aunt has sexually abused him. He hates her so much because she is
hurting him, but at the same time he loves her because she is good to him. These mix feelings drives
him crazy and makes a negative impact in Charlie s emotions and

low concentrations
Hypothesis: If I place an egg in vinegar, then the outer layer of the egg is going to become slimy and
look like rubber. It will also become larger and bubbles will form on and around the egg.
Hypothesis: If I place an egg in corn syrup, then the egg will become small and the outer layer will not
look like rubber any longer.
Day one:
Date started: 8/6
Volume: 2 oz. pH of acetic acid: 2.4
Day two

This is also known as a hypertonic solution which explains why the egg will decrease in size. Corn
syrup is a hypertonic liquid because it is very concentrated with not much water compared to the egg
unlike water which is hypotonic because it contains more water than the egg. In this solution, the
solute remains the egg, and the solvent is changed to corn syrup. Osmosis still plays an action because
water is still passing through the membrane from high to low concentrations.
Hypothesis: If the egg is placed into water, then it will increase in size since water is a hypotonic
liquid because it contains more water than the egg.
Day Five
Egg volume: 4oz.
Remaining water: 6oz.
Conclusion:
Osmosis took place in the egg under a variety of conditions because the membrane of the egg has tiny
openings where water can pass through from high to low concentrations. On day one, it was a
hypotonic solution because the higher concentration of water in the vinegar moved to the smaller
concentration in the egg. This means the egg was filled with water, which resulted in the eggs increase
in size. On day three, the hypotonic solution occurred because the corn syrup had a lower
concentration of water than the egg. That means the egg released water into the corn syrup, which
resulted in the eggs decrease in size. On day four, the egg was placed in water which resulted in an
isotonic solution where the concentrations become even. This

  • 3. Wal-Mart Health Care Dilemma Running Head: Case Analysis Case Analysis Report Wal Mart Wal Mart Health Care Dilemma There have been some concerns about Wal Mart s treatment of its employees, suppliers, the environment, and the overall economic impact on communities. Wal Mart has been criticized by some community groups, women s rights groups, grassroots organizations, and labor unions, specifically for its extensive foreign product sourcing, low wages, low rates of employee health insurance enrollment, resistance to union representation, sexism, and management efforts to pressure employees to vote for specific parties during national elections. Wal Mart, one of the world s largest retailers, has the reputation of paying its employees poorly, along with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By comparison, the average spending per employee in the wholesale/retailing sector was $4,800. For U.S. employers in general, the average was $5,600 per employee (Miller, 2004, p 8). Key Stakeholders With any business there are always stakeholders. These people are influenced by businesses. However, they also have the ability to influence businesses. Consequently, the relationship between businesses and stakeholders is a two way street. According to Ferrell, Ferrell, and Fraedrich (2010), In a business context, customers, investors and shareholders, employees, suppliers, government agencies, communities, and many others who have a stake or claim in some aspect of a company s product, operations, markets, industry, and outcome are known as stakeholders (p. 30). Although most corporations have emphasized shareholders as the most important stakeholder group, the failure to consider all significant stakeholders can lead to ethical lapses. Stakeholders are likely to shift their prospective of a company after unethical actions have been exposed to the public. The key stakeholders in this situation are the Wal Mart associates, taxpayers, and shareholders. The stakeholder model of corporate social responsibility considers obligations firms may face as moral agents to employees, customers and other stakeholders. Most employees rely on their employer to provide some type of health care benefits because most cannot afford health ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Insider Trading Regulations And The Enforcement Deficits... Insider Trading Regulations and the Enforcement Deficits in New Zealand Insider trading refers to the trading of a listed company s stock or other financial securities by individuals who has access to non public material information about the company. This action often occurs within employees/ex employees of the listen company. Information is considered to be non public material information if making it public would affect the price of securities, and using such information in decisions to buy or sell financial securities would be unfair to non insiders (Bainbridge, 2013). Insider trading is treated as a mischief in more than 90 countries, and defendants are imposed with penalties (Beny, 2012). Specific insider conduct regulations in New Zealand were first enacted in 1988, followed by amendments in 2002, 2006 and 2008. The insider conduct regimes between 1988 and 2008 are often considered as a failure due to weak enforcements. Thus in 2008, the regulator introduced a new regime, which was a close model to the Australian insider conduct legislation. Both regimes are expansive, meaning it could be applied to any person in possession of insider information. However, while the Australian laws were aggressively enforced (more than 26 prosecutions were brought since then), no prosecutions have been launched under the new legislation in New Zealand. In addition, New Zealand also had no convictions secured prior to 2008, illustrating a clear enforcement deficit in the New Zealand ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Main Aspects Of Vendors And Packages IV. Vendor Comparisons Below is a table comparing the various key aspects of vendors and packages they offer. Table 2 summarizes the main added media channels supported by these contact center packages. A checkmark in this table indicates areas that we consider fully addressed in an off the shelf manner; otherwise, comments provide a brief explanation. There are other media channels that aren t reflected in Table 2 including fax capabilities, which is broadly supported by all these package offerings. Another up and coming feature is the ability for desktop sharing, where an agent may aid a customer in completing a form by sharing the mouse and keystrokes. Because of its nature and thought of security concerns it is used sparingly. Total Cost The following table (table 3) is a comparison of the major cost components. These are U.S. List prices, and may not always compare the same configurations, functions, or features. In some cases, the incremental per agent charge is based on total defined agent seats, while in others it is based on concurrently logged in agents, or ports. Pricing shown is U.S. List, per seat or per concurrent agent (per port), for software only (unless noted otherwise) While they vary considerably in some architectural respects, contact centers utilize many of the same subsystems and components regardless of the vendor. Specific architecture can be different per vendor based on requirements and the packages chosen for the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. John Scopes Inherit The Wind Inherit the Wind Rough Draft The Play Inherit the Wind is very similar to many different events in history, such as the Scopes trial, or even the McCarthy trials. In the famous Scopes trial or Monkey trial, John Scopes was caught teaching evolution to his biology students. Not long before the trial, Darwin s Theory of Evolution had been published. Darwin s novel contained a newly formed idea that man was created from gradual evolution. The idea caused an outrage from several Christian religious groups, because it went against the book of Genesis in the Bible. This discontent grew so much that the state of Tennessee passed a law on evolution. This law prohibited the teaching of evolution, with a $500 dollar fine per violation. The Scopes trial led the most famous lawyers of the time to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To break this law was a minor offense, but it would shake America. Scopes lost the trial, but he showcased a point to the world. The play writers used the Scopes trial to warn of the McCarthy trails, which were happening when it was written. He argued that he had the freedom of speech to teach what he wanted. This is very similar to Inherit the Wind in which Bertram Cates, also intentionally breaks the laws because he believes that he should be able to teach what he wants. In the play, the prosecutor, Mathew Harrison Brady, is a very religious man who believes very strongly in the Bible. He is a priest and basks in popularity and adoration. He is very similar to the prosecutor in the Scopes trial, who is also a religious and popular man. Through the play Inherit the Wind, Mathew Harrison Brady held onto the old ways too tightly, he built his beliefs and life around love and adoration from others, and when that was taken ... • 7. The Atomic Bomb Essay In this paper, it will be discussed why the Atomic Bomb is the biggest method of destruction known to man. The paper will be discussing the results of the Atomic Bombs, along with the effects years after the initial explosion. People always wonder how many people actually died in the two Atomic Bombs which were dropped in Japan. This question will be answered, along with the method that citizens were actually killed by the bomb. Besides the initial blast winds that an Atomic Bomb gives off, people may be killed by several other things including heat rays, radiation and the implosion of their home. Robert S. In the two bombings there was a large gap in the number of people that died. In Hiroshima the city population at the time of the bombing was 310,000, The estimated deaths was 90,000 140,000 people. As for the Nagasaki bombing, the city population before the bombing was 250,000. The estimated number of deaths was 60,000 80,000 people. Notice that the word, quot;estimated quot;, was used for both amounts of deaths. The reason for this is because, the number of deaths cannot be precisely known because records of military personnel in each city were destroyed. There have been several comparisons between the damage capabilities of the two bombs. First of all, it was said that to achieve maximum blast effect, the bomb had been set to detonate 1800 feet over Hiroshima. This is approximately 548 meters. The bomb in Hiroshima reached a height of 580+/ 15 meters. As for the bomb in Nagasaki, it reached a height of 500+/ 10 meters. The radius in which ceramic roof tiles melted was 600m in the Hiroshima bombing and 1000m in the Nagasaki bombing. The radius in which granite stone melted was 1,000m for the Hiroshima bomb and 1,600m for the Nagasaki bomb. What can be determined from these statistics is that the Nagasaki bomb has much stronger heat rays in it, and in turn would destroy more territory and kill more people. As said earlier in this essay, the location of Nagasaki prevented that. It was said that when ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As I watched Ethan grow and figure out his life, I protected and cared for him. I believe that was my purpose to serve for him. When I died, I felt satisfied thinking that I had served my purpose, but I was unaware of many new people to meet and for more adventures that were ahead of me. The speed, extent and tenacity of Cistercian expansion was by all accounts extraordinary, and one that seemed to differ greatly from the other monastic movements of the twelfth century. Their growth from one to seven foundations, to more than three hundred in the space of fifty years was almost entirely unexpected by contemporary standards. However, when one delves into the history of the order and looks at the factors that differentiated it from other similar monastic institutions of the same period one begins to see a number of portentous factors that undoubtedly contributed to such explosive growth. Both of these thinkers developed their thoughts while Athens and Florence, their respective cities, faced political unrest. By questioning the people of Athens through their period of turmoil following a shift in government, Socrates was able to formulate opinions regarding how a government should operate and how people should rule. He spent his whole life seeking wisdom through moral and political questions and even when addressing a jury with the possibility of execution looming over him he declared I shall never stop practicing philosophy and exhorting you and indicating the truth for everyone (Apology, 29d). The truth and the means of finding it were the most important thing to Socrates. Even though questioning was Socrates way to achieve power, he still believed in following the law. Through the use of both excessive and insufficient social integration we can grasp suicide in a social context. Durkheim uses the example of suicide among Jews, Protestants and Catholics within varying cultures and social settings. This allows us to understand the rates and causes of suicide and how they differ across the three religions. Protestants have always had more of an appetite for suicide than the Jewish and Catholic community (Durkheim, Emile, A Study in Sociology, London: The Free Press, 1951). It is only on some occasions that this is reversed. Up until the middle of the 19th century, Catholics have committed suicide more than Jews in all countries, except for in Bavaria. Both Catholicism and Judaism teach strict disciplines in their individual religions. They both teach self control and obedience, and due to this suicide is often condemned. Along with this, these religions are often the minority within certain societies across the globe. In this solution, the solute remains the egg, and the solvent is changed to corn syrup. Osmosis still plays an action because water is still passing through the membrane from high to low concentrations. Hypothesis: If the egg is placed into water, then it will increase in size since water is a hypotonic liquid because it contains more water than the egg. Day Five Egg volume: 4oz. Remaining water: 6oz. Conclusion: Osmosis took place in the egg under a variety of conditions because the membrane of the egg has tiny openings where water can pass through from high to low concentrations. On day one, it was a hypotonic solution because the higher concentration of water in the vinegar moved to the smaller concentration in the egg.
