The Bajaj Group is amongst the top 10 business houses in India. Its footprint stretches over a wide

known across several countries in Latin America, Africa, Middle East, South and South East Asia.

It is all nonsense (family feud)... the work is divided and the ownership between four brothers and
two sons remains the same, he said.
As per the proposal, Bajaj Group s auto business will be demerged into a new subsidiary Bajaj
Holdings and Investment Ltd (BHIL) and other strategic businesses such as wind energy, insurance
and financial services would be demerged into another new entity Bajaj Finserv Ltd (BFL).
Bajaj Auto shareholders would continue to hold one share of the company with face value of Rs
10 and would also be allotted one BHIL share of Rs 10 face value and one BFL share of Rs 5 face
value. The demerger would be completed this year.
Rebuffing suggestions that the move was to spilt the group, he said: I will be the chairman of all the
three companies. It is not a split of Bajaj Auto. Out of Rs 8,500 crore cash and cash equivalents, Rs
1,500 cr will go to the new Bajaj Auto and Rs 800 crore will be transferred to BFL. The balance Rs
6,000 crore will remain with the BHIL, Bajaj said.
The transaction will enable the new companies to tap into the cash pool of BHIL to support future
growth, while enabling BHIL to participate in the growth of the auto business and the financial
services business.
Ruling out any change in management structure of the group, Rahul Bajaj said: There is generally
no change in the management structure.

Mrs. Whipple and Her Son in Katherine Porter s He Essay
Mrs. Whipple and Her Son in Katherine Porter s He
In the story He by Katherine Porter, the main character Mrs. Whipple is often seen as a cruel,
neglectful mother who mistreats her son, and there is ample evidence to support this view. But
there is another away to look at Mrs. Whipple: she can also be perceived as a pitiful mother being
forced to raise a retarded child that is totally incapable of returning her love. After closer
inspection, however, it becomes evident that Mrs. Whipple does the best she can under very harsh
circumstances, to raise and nurture her son to the best of her ability. She treats her son the way she
does out of necessity and therefore should not be hated or pitied for her treatment of Him. In his
book, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mrs. Whipple feels her neighbors are unfairly judging her because of her son s handicap. She
probably knows that they talk about her behind her back and suggest that there is bad blood in
her family. She also feels guilty about His condition; so she may suspect that it is somehow her
fault. Consequently, she feels she must justify herself to them, and is very careful not to do
things that will cause them to continually talk about her. Once again, this is a natural response
and does not mean she is a bad mother. It can also be suggested that Mrs. Whipple is outright
cruel to her son. It seems as if she makes Him do things around the farm that she does not make
the others do. For example, she lets Him handle the stinging bees. Her older son Adna always
gets stung, yet He does not seem to mind. This is a chore that has to be done, so she lets Him do
the job. In addition, making Him capture the small pig from its mother, or lead a dangerous bull
home seems unkind. Actually, Adna is unable to capture the pig, and her husband refuses to
lead home the bull, so again, out of necessity she has Him do these things. He was made to plow
the fields because He is the biggest and strongest and is also able to take over Adna s work when
He leaves home. The fact is, she lets Him do all of these things

Differences Involved In The Digestive System
The digestive system is one of the main organ systems. The first process in the digestive system is
to consume the food. This is called ingestion. The digestive system is what absorbs and breaks
down the food and drinks that were eaten. The digestive organs break down food in two ways,
mechanical digestion and chemical digestion. In mechanical digestion, the processes starts from the
mouth to the stomach. During this process the food gets broken into smaller sizes. Then from there
chemical digestions begins to occur. Chemical digestion is when many different enzymes break
down the molecules so that they can be absorbed. Chemical digestion begins in the mouth and
continues in the intestines. The mouth does two things, mechanical breakdown of... Show more

The food is changed into chyme which is a slimy material. The chyme gets mixed with highly
acidic gastric juice and strong digestive enzymes in the stomach. This is to prepare the chyme for
the small intestine. There are hormones like gastine and molin that help move the chyme and pump
gastric juice. The chyme then goes to the first part of the small intestine called the duodenum. The
small intestines have three parts which are the duodenum, jejunum, and the ileum. The small
intestines break down the chyme by enzymes from the pancreas and bile. The pancreas produces
insulin which controls metabolism in the blood and enzymes that break down fats, carbohydrates,
and protein. Then the gallbladder releases the bile it stores into the duodenum to absorb fats. The
duodenum is mostly the continuous breakdown of the chyme while the jejunum and ileum absorb
the nutrients. All the nutrients get absorbed from the foods (vitamins, proteins, minerals, fats, and
carbohydrates) that travel into the bloodstream throughout the body. This is the third main function
called absorption. The liver absorbs all the nutrients from the small intestines. Another thing that the
liver does is it makes chemicals from the nutrients it absorbs that the body needs. It also breaks
down poisons and drugs in the body. From the small intestines come the large intestines (colon) that
are attached to the small

The House At Sugar Beach
In the book The House at Sugar Beach , Helene Cooper s african childhood was filled with
nothing but happiness and wealth. Helene and her family lived in a three story mansion by the

also had a villa in Spain and a farmhouse on the other side of the country. Helene is a descendant
of two Liberian dynasties. Since her ancestors were one of the reasons why Liberiagot it s

Abuse In My Papa s Waltz
When I read, My Papa s Waltz, I didn t see any abuse going on in the story presented. I also
thought the child was a little girl, not a little boy. Not quite sure why I saw the child as a girl
though, I guess I just imagined a father dancing with his daughter from the title alone. Like at a
wedding, when the father and daughter dance. And so, I had thought that this was an awkward
dance between a father and his daughter. The father was drunk, of course, from the line, The

and therefore, accidently hurting his child by smashing her against counters or drawers in the
house. And of course, the mother, and perhaps wife of the man, looked on in

Little Red Riding Hood and Grandmother’s Tale Essay
Little Red Riding Hood and Grandmother s tale
Folktales has created men as the most powerful character in most stories but that does not mean
always as there s a difference in Grandmother s tale and Little Red Riding hood. Different
genders have different expectations according to their characteristics. The Red Riding Hood and
Grandmother s tale has produced ideas such as how a girl s life is looked upon in the past and
how the male has the upper hand in most situations according to the stories. This essay will argue
about how the girl s gender played a major role in the context of the story and how the wolf is
represented by a male character and why the male is not always the most powerful character in all
stories and the comparison ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is because needles are much harder to master and takes a lot of time to be good at it while
pins are easy to use so this could mean that the male character has more experience than the
female in life so he took the path of needles. In grandmother s tale the wolf puts the grandmother
s blood and flesh for the girl to eat and drink. But the girl did not know anything about it so she
drank it and while she was doing so the cat and the bird could represent society as they tried to
stop her from drinking the grandmother s blood. But she did not listen to what they were saying
and listened to the wolf who then tells her to take off [her] clothes and come to bed . By doing
what the wolf says this may be interpreted as how the wolf is trying to transform the girl into being
like him by doing what he does. This could also mean the male character has more sexual
experiences than the girl. Because needles are harder to use than pins which mean without practice
needles can hurt.
Furthermore, in Red Riding Hood she was wearing red which is the colour of blood as she was a
virgin she became the prey of the wolf. The colour red attracts unnecessary attention when she was
going through the forest. This tells us how naГЇve young girls can be and not being aware of her

Population Health Management Paper
Population Health Management is the iterative process of managing clinical, financial and
operational entities to help boost health outcomes and patient engagement, while also decreasing
expenses (Mellin Funk, 2014). This capstone project will depict what Population Health
Management (PHM) is and how it is incorporated within the military and civilian healthcare
industry. It will focus on what PHM can bring to healthcare organizations as well as discussing the
challenges they could face. PHM can be powerful instrument for improving the healthof the
community when utilized correctly. New technologies, laws and regulations will be broken down
and discussed to show how they each play a role in implementing a PHM program. Gardner (2014)

Patient Registries. These registries are used to collect and document administrative data, clinical
data and preventive health care information. PHM relies on electronic health information. Patient
Registries are computerized systems that will maintain data for individual patients especially if
they have a specific disease (Howard, 2015).
Personal Health Records: To help improve PHM programs patients and physicians need to be
actively involved. In order to help engage patients a personal health record should be established.
This will allow patients to view their own clinical results and be able to communicate with their
health care team.
Conclusion
The rapidly increase of health care costs and the limited amount of access to healthcare readily
available has made the United States alter the way their healthcare is delivered to the population.
Population Health Management (PHM) programs are being promoted as a tactical initiative for the
future state of all healthcare organizations (Cassidy, 2013). Population Health Management is the
topic of many studies as an iterative strategy for success as the healthcare industry changes in
regards to the government s regulations. It is also a valuable tool used to deduct costs. Health care
administrators need to focus on developing and implementing a Population Heath Management
program. Population health management gives organizations the opportunities to utilize technology
to help connect with and manage an individual s

Weight Loss Myths
Have you been exercising and dieting and still you don t get the desired results? Well you must
have fallen victim of bad advise that is in the internet concerning weight loss. Some are unproven
methods or literally proven not to work. Here are some common myths.
All calories are the same. Different foods go through a different metabolism pathway therefore
have different effect on hunger and hormones that regulate body weight. Calories found in refined
foods are less filling and require one to eat more leading to weight gain while calories in whole
foods are bulky and more filling.
Carbs make you fat. Refined carbs like fries will result to weight gain but whole carbs like brown
rice are bulky and more filling therefore are healthy.
Fat makes you fat. It seems logic but there is nothing fattening about fat. As long as calories ...

Actually it never works in long term. It leads to weight gain in the future. You shouldn t approach
weight loss with a dieting mindset instead make it a life plan to be happier, healthier and fitter.
Eating smaller meals make you burn more calories, well this is a myth too. Eat when you are
hungry and stop when you are full. You should eat to satisfy hunger not appetite.
Eating less and work out more. This may seem true because when calories out surpass calories in
fat is lost but this at times makes the body go into starvation mode. When the body does that it will
conserve every possible calorie, breaking down muscle tissue as well as fat, endangering ones health
and making weight loss difficult. Weight loss should involve eating right, the right kind of foodand
the right amount of food.
Losing weight is linear process. This is not true, it may fluctuate. This should not be a cause of
concern. At times you may be carrying more food in the digestive system or more water in the
body. As long as the trend is going downwards eventually you will lose weight in the long term.
Those are some of the common myths

Abstract
Purpose The authors posit that audit fees are driven by historical risk factors and risk encountered
in the current period. The purpose of this paper is to focus on historical risk by examining the
incremental effect of material weakness in internal control (MW) identified in prior periods on
current audit fees, after current risk factors are controlled for.
Design/methodology/approach The paper uses ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Increased engagement effort due to high risk in ICFR can be passed along to clients through audit
fees. In addition, audit tests cannot uncover all possible material misstatements; as a result, auditors
may add a risk premium to audit fees for risky clients.
Such risk premiums, which compensate the auditors for potential losses associated with high risk
clients, go beyond the incremental fees the auditors may charge for increased audit effort.
Although studies prior to SOX yield mixed results (O Keefe et al., 1994; Felix et al.,
2001), recent studies have found supporting evidence of a contemporaneous positive relationship
between current control risk and current audit fees by using ICDs disclosures under SOX
(Raghunadan and Rama, 2006; Hoitash et al., 2008; Hogan and
Wilkins, 2008; Bedard et al., 2008). Nevertheless, prior studies have not addressed whether control
risk identified in prior periods affects current period audit fees. This is an important question as
generally accepted auditing standards require the auditor to assess the effects of prior ICFR
deficiencies on current period audit procedures and risk assessment. In practice, auditors rely
heavily on past audit results in audit planning for the current period. Thus, past

Diplomacy in the United States and Saudi Arabia
Growing up being a diplomat has always been a career I wanted to pursue. When I was in
elementary school my best friend s father was diplomat for the State Department. He would
constantly tell me stories of his travels from living in South Africa, Germany, and Thailand. I
already loved traveling and I was so in love with this job because the career would be receiving a
check for something I already love to do. However it is not only about the traveling this job has
many benefits including being able to resolve world issues and help un developed countries with
their issues. Being a diplomat for the U.S government requires many requirements. There are not
many educational requirements a college degree is sufficient enough. What is really needed is to
pass the Foreign Service Exam. This exam consists of a written exam, oral interview, and a
negotiating exercise. After passing the test a medical and security clearance is then required.
Passing all those will allow you to be selected into the Foreign Service for the United States
government. This process is said to be more selective than Harvard University (Working Abroad).
Although being selected and qualifying for this process would be very honorable I am fortunate
enough to have a father and family members with great ties in the Saudi Arabian government. My
father used to work with a Prince of Saudi Arabiawhose uncle is the Foreign Minister of Saudi
Arabia. My father still remains in contact with him and he would be more

The Physiological Effect Of Nitric Oxide
The physiological effects of nitric oxide were first recognized in 1876, but was not acknowledged
for its physiological and medical usage until the late 20th century. Since then, inhaled nitric oxide
has been used by medical clinicians for the treatment of neonates who suffer from hypoxic
respiratory failure linked with persistent pulmonary hypertension and for the treatment of adults
with pulmonary hypertension associated with respiratory distress syndrome. Although inhaled
nitric oxidehas been known to offer great benefits for patients with respiratory diseases, it may
also have a detrimental effect on patients if the accurate amount of dosage is not administered
properly. To ensure the proper dosage is being administered to the patient, there are several newly
designed nitric oxide systems being developed to use in conjunction with mechanical ventilation or
for single use. Nitric oxide therapy has improved drastically over the last twenty years, but it is still
being developed and researched in pursuit of the most effective treatment for patients with
respiratory diseases.
Nitric oxide is a toxic gas that supports combustion, it is also colorless, odorless, highly diffusible,
but nonflammable unless mixed with another gas. In 1876 a physician named Thomas Lauder
Brunton recognized the physiological effects of nitric oxide by experimenting with his patients.
Thomas Lauder Brunton placed nitrite drops on a piece of clothing for his patients to inhaled and

The Environmental Problem Of Oil Spill
Oil Spill
A B S T R A C T
Oil spill pollution, a severe environmental problem which arouses in a marine environment or in
the water bodies, has grown into an alarming scale with the increase in oil production and
transportation. Causes are either accidental or due to operational failure. Henceforth, it is almost
impossible for marine life not to be a victim of this vulnerable zone. Our planet has the largest oil
reserves, occasionally it cracks and rarely causes a major accident. However, human interference
causes a devastating damage to marine and ecosystem.
Introduction
Oil is marked as the most used non renewable natural resource throughout the planet. Innovations in
the automobile technology has increased the demand for hydrocarbons as its used for the source of
heat and light. Development in the petrochemical industry boosted the oil supply throughout the
world. Today we have miles and miles of wired petroleumpipelines and tons of crude oil on the
go. The quantity of oil transported over the sea has enormously increased in volume with tankers
from a capacity of 100,000 to 500,000 tons resulting in increased possibilities of spillage by
accident. In the event of an accident, oil pollution will be encountered in the marine environment or
in inland water.
Within the past years Oil spills have created enormous debates and unhealthy concerns for the
ecosystem. On April 22nd , 2010 will be remembered as one of the darkest days in the history of oil
and gas industry.

Essay on Persian Gulf War
The Persian Gulf is one of the few regions whose importance to the United States is obvious. The
flow of Gulf oil will continue to be crucial to the economic well being of the industrialized world
for the foreseeable future; developments in the Gulf will have a critical impact on issues ranging
from Arab Israeli relations and religious extremism to terrorism and nuclear nonproliferation. Every
president since Richard Nixon has recognized that ensuring PersianGulfsecurity and stability is a
vital U.S. interest.
The Clinton administration s strategy for achieving this goal during the president s first term was
its attempted quot;dual containment quot; of Iraq and Iran. This is more a slogan than a strategy,

Hence no U.S. Gulf policy will satisfy everyone in every respect. That makes it all the more
essential that any adjustment in U.S. policy toward Iraq and Iran be preceded by extensive
consultations with friendly Gulf leaders. Inadequate dialogue and unilateral action have caused
some insecurity in the region and weakened trust in U.S. steadfastness.
When the British withdrew from the Persian Gulf in 1971, the United States became the principal
foreign power in the region. For almost three decades it has pursued the goal of preserving regional
stability, using a variety of means to that end, particularly regarding the northern Gulf powers of
Iraq and Iran.
At first the United States relied on Iran as its chief regional proxy, supporting the shah s regime
in the hope that it would be a source of stability. This policy collapsed in 1979 with the Iranian
Revolution, when Iran switched from staunch ally to implacable foe. During the 1980s, the United
States strove to maintain a de facto balance of power between Iraq and Iran so that neither would
be able to achieve a regional hegemony that might threaten American interests. The United States
provided some help to Iraq during the Iran Iraq War of 1980 88, moved in other ways to counter
the spread of Iranian backed Islamic militancy, and provided with Israeli encouragement some help

how it need to be done. In the beginning of each season there is a process that is known as
weight certification. What you have to do for that is pass the hydration test, get your body fat
checked and then weigh in. After all that is done your body fat and weight are put into a formula
that checks to see what the lowest possible weight class you can wrestle is with having a healthy
amount of body fat. They hydration test is extremely important, if you are not hydrated you
cannot certify until a later date. You have to pee in a cup and then the instructor puts the pee
into a Refractometer and it measures the absolute weight of the urine and if it s over 1.025 you
pass, anything less you fail and have to retry. They do this test so kids can t suck ridicules
amounts of weight, this makes the sport a little bit more healthy I suppose. This new certification
process was implanted in 2006 to help insure the safety of the participants (Funk). Every year in
high school I wrestled in the 119 weight class. My freshman year my coach/team wanted me to
wrestle 103 but I did not pass the hydration test and I just couldn t make the weight. It was an
unrealistic weight class and there was just no way to do

Distracted Driving (Psas)
Each day in the United States, 8 people on average are killed in a distracted driving related
accident (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2016). Distracted driving can constitute
anything from talking on the phone to reaching for a fallen object while driving. One way people
have been fighting to combat the deadliness of distracted driving is through PSAs. PSAs are Public
Service Announcements, like commercials, that warn people of dangerous activities and heighten
their awarenessof a problem. Even if people think no one pays attention to PSAs, if even one
person saw and understood a PSA, it would make a difference. PSAs are an important part of the
preventionof distracted driving because it heightens peoples awareness of the... Show more content

Around 90% of participants in a study on reception of PSAs understood the PSA eyes on the
road hands on the wheel to mean either stay alert or don t drive distracted (US Department of
Transportation, 2017). This implies that PSAs certainly get their message across when they are
viewed. On average, at least 70% of participants recognized a seat belt PSA, so PSAs stick in the
memory of those who view them (US Department of Transportation, 2017). According to the US
Department of Transportation (2017), around 60% participants agreed that it was often or always
necessary for dynamic PSA signs on roads. In addition, the majority of participants strongly agreed
that it was very important to provide information on putting away mobile phones while driving.
This shows that people are aware of the problem of distracted driving, and agree that awareness of
this problem in others is extremely important. Finally, the participants were asked if would change
their behavior if they saw a PSA that said eyes on the road, hands on the wheel , don t be a
distracted driver , or drive safely, text later it can wait . The overwhelming majority answered
maybe, probably yes, or definitely yes (US Department of Transportation, 2017). PSAs do make
a huge difference in driving behavior and give people a reminder of the consequences of
distracted driving. The more immediate a reminder, the more it will affect your behavior, so PSAs
on signs are even more effective than those viewed on television or in other advertising. PSAs are
important parts of preventing dangerous behavior like distracted

Persuasive Essay On Snow Removal
The gift that my group performed for the community of Juneau, Alaska is snow removal. The group
consisted of my two most trustworthy peers Marcos Yadao and Mitchell Laudert. We all understood
that living in a small tight knit town such as Juneau; the smallest of tasks can have the biggest
impacts. That is when the light bulb in our intellectual brains and the idea of snowremoval came to
mind. It was an appropriate job for the winter season. With heavy snow flurries in the forecast,
this would be an achievable accomplishment. With the service in mind our next step was to pick
a location. We did not want to select the wealthy neighborhoods because the residents there
would probably be financially able to pay for such services. The location that we settled on was
not a poverty stricken area, but the homes consisted of elderly residence. To avoid complications
with the occupants of the home and explain our reasoning for the free service we wanted to only
do homes were the residence weren t present. That did not hold up to a standard when we
actually got around to carry out the service. The whole point of going out and helping people of
Juneau with their snow blanketed driveways, walkways, and porches too was to gain self respect
and also to prove to the world that good can come from anything and anywhere too.
The reason that I believe that volunteer work and work in general is vital to success in the today s
world and society is because the generation that I am apart of is lack of a better term lazy. The
motto of the entitled generation is procrastination is key. The most important part in forming a
generation comes from the parents. The outcome of a generation s attitude always leads back to the
source (the parents). Volunteer work in present time is very important for the youth, but is equally
as important for adults too. Some local organizations in Juneau are Love Incorporation, Helping
Hands Healing Hands LLC, Saint Vincent De Paul, and Southeast AlaskaRegional Health

Similarities And Differences Between Ancient Rome And America
Slavery began in some of the earliest civilizations and continued to be around for over a thousand
of years after that time. During this time, people of various races were forced to work for those
above them and were treated almost as less than human. Two areas where slavery is best displayed
is in Ancient Romeand in America prior to the Civil War. When comparing and contrasting slavery
in these two places, one can see similarities and differences in how the slaves were acquired,
treated, freed, and the type of labor they had to undertake. Even though these two societies were
over a thousand years apart from each other, Ancient Rome and America can be compared to see the
changes that occurred in slavery during this time and the ideas that... Show more content on

During the 1600s, a small number of African American slaves worked on plantations because,
until the end of this time, it cost the slave owners less to buy white servants than slaves.
However, this changed by the end of the 17th century as the African American slaves became set
apart as a different group than the white servants and cost a substantial amount less than that of a
white servant slavery ( The Roots of Racism ). At this point slavery was, like in Ancient Rome,
based off of economic reasons and did not involve any racial discriminations. This idea of
slavery changed over time as rebellions broke out. These rebellions, such as the Bacon s
Rebellion, brought on full scale racial slavery ( The Roots of Racism ). This began the process of
African Americans being thought of as subhuman and strengthened the idea of white supremacy.
This showed a major development between the two societies as the Romans developed slavery to
have their work done for them, but this idea gradually changed into an almost entirely racial act,
as shown in America. Slavery in America did benefit those who owned slaves, but unlike in
Ancient Rome, the slaves were based off certain races and was used to almost punish those who

Marriage Of Figaro
The Marriage of Figaro, or Le Nozze di Figaro as originally titled in Italian, is a light hearted opera
buffa in four acts with musical setting by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and libretto by Lorenzo Da
Ponte. The libretto is based on La folle journГ©e, ou le Mariage de Figaro (The Madcap Day, or
the Marriage of Figaro), a comically titled stage play by Pierre Beaumarchais. Mozart s opera is in
fact part of a trilogy. The Marriageof Figaro continues the story of The Barber of Seville, another of
Beaumarchais plays adapted for opera by Paisiello. Composed in 1786 and originally a reasonable
success, The Marriage of Figaro s acclaim has grown much greater and is celebrated and

In anticipation of attending the performance, I read up on the opera s plot and watched videos
of key moments. I became familiar with the characters and formed expectations of each. For
instance, I expected Count Almaviva to be foolishly arrogant, with an I expect to be obeyed
attitude. However, I was surprised and shocked to discover how very human each personage
really was. A typical novel is told in the point of view of one individual with whom we, the
audience, tend to sympathize with. We know their thoughts and feelings and we cheer them on ,
while despising the antagonists. In Guth s The Marriage of Figaro, I found myself wishing for
good closure for each and every one of the characters despite the fact that they are the source of
each other s misery.
Despite a solid effort from all voice parts and some disconcertingly beautiful standout arias,
overall, I found the libretto and Guth s atmospheric changes to be much too disconnected,
resulting, for me, in a somewhat disappointing Marriage of Figaro. Those hoping to experience
the classical brilliance of a Mozart Da Ponte opera will come out of the theatre dissatisfied. On the
other hand, those wanting a glimpse of traditional operatic music and dialogue with added
psychological depth will take immense pleasure in viewing COC s 2016 production of The

Artificial Intelligence Is The Dominant Theory
Artificial intelligence is intelligence exhibited by machines or software. Artificial intelligence also
studies how people create computers that are capable or preforming an intelligent behavior, like a
human (Business Dictionary). To back up artificial intelligence, there is functionalism. Hilary
Putman developed functionalismin the 1970 s, which is still the dominant theory in todays society.
Functionalism states that having a mind does not require a brain and mental states can be realized
by other kinds of substances. Mental states are also defined by their functions. In other words,
functionalism is where ones causes and effects define the views of their mental states. An example
can be defined as being in pain, which can cause... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dualism is just a substance and it stated that the mind is made up of other things rather than just
atoms. Where materialism states the opposite. It showed that there were no such things as
immaterial substances, which meant there were no souls. Materialism was the simpler theory
because there was no mystery and it assumed the least. For that, Ockham s razor denied the
objection to the mind body dualism because it assumed too much. Along with that, materialism was
able to prove that without having a soul, computers can still be intelligent like a human.
Functionalism was an influence that made people believe in the possibility that machines can be
intelligent. It also identifies mental states by what they do rather than what they are made of and
there in that statement, the mind body dualism is denied by functionalism. Perhaps mental states
are more a matter of software, like running a program on your computer (Rosen et al., 355). It is
denied not only because there is not enough information to back it up, but because functionalism
says that beliefs, desires and emotions fit into the larger system since those types of mental states
must be realized by something else other than by what it already is.
Like anything else in philosophy, there are always objections to someone s theory. An objection or

Online Subscription Based Music Services

Online subscription based music services (like Spotify) compare lists of songs users have played
using if statements and for loops to find recommended songs for us. If a certain percentage of
songs are the same in the list of songs two users have played, the system will recommend songs to
the first user from the list of the other one.
Computer and mobile games use all programming concepts we have covered in this course: they
store lots of data for example boolean variables to check if objectives have been completed and
integers or floats to keep track of the user s score, they use loops and functions for all kinds of
things like running the game while the player s health is above 0 or a function to make the player
character move when a key is pressed. Perhaps the most obvious programming concept used in
games is the if statement, to check if an obstacle is hit (by checking if the distance between the
moving object and the obstacle is smaller than a certain value) or to make enemies stop moving if
their health is zero.
Delivery companies use lists (databases) to store tracking numbers and if statements to check if a
number entered into their online tracking system matches any in the list of these numbers. If it
does, they display the estimated delivery date and time (which are stored in variables) and
otherwise display an error message informing the user that the number they entered is incorrect.
Online messaging programs also use lists to store all kinds of user

Rpf In Rwanda
During 1959, the Hutus removed the Tutsi monarchy and thousands of Tutsis escaped to bordering
countries. A large group of Tutsi exiles created a rebel group, the Rwandan Patriotic Front. The
RPF(abbreviated) came into Rwanda to start a war which ended in a peace agreement in 1993.
Following the civil war in Rwandabetween the Tutsis and the Hutus, the Rwandan President

The Relationship Between Solicitors And Society
The relationship between solicitors and society is a unique one. If law is the system of rules
which a particular country or community recognizes as regulating the actions of its members ,
then solicitors are the agents who operate in its vast framework, acting as a voice for the people.
In this sense, it is undeniable that the legal profession exists to serve society as well as the court.
Because of the nature of this relationship the conduct of solicitors is paramount in ensuring that
public trust is maintained in the services solicitors offer. This has resulted in the public
expectation that solicitors conduct themselves in an ethical manner. When describing conduct,
there are many possible definitions of ethics. In the oxford dictionary ethics is defined as Moral
principles that govern a person s behaviour or the conducting of an activity . Tracey Calvert (a
regulatory compliance specialist and member of the policy team which drafted the SRA
handbook) defines ethics as Behaviour which defines the characteristic between professional and
employer . When applied in the context of law, these definitions suggest that a set of values should
shape the behaviour of solicitors, as well as their relationships with their clients. This is supported
by Professor Andrew Boon s definition of legal ethics where he defines the term as The study of the
relationship between morality and Law, the values underpinning the legal system, and the
regulation of the legal services

The Vietnam war began in 1954 through the region which goes back several decades. The vietnam

The Decline of Journalism as a Profession
Introduction The belief that journalism is in decline has triggered major alarms, because society
needs an informational environment that is easily available to all citizens such as newspapers.
There is a large body of journalist that suggests that if television has taken over from the press as
our main source of news this may limit our capacity to learn about public affairs; newspapers are
believed to be far more effective than television at conveying detailed information necessary to
understand complex and detailed issues. There is also widespread concern that if journalismfails as
a profession it will not be able to reach large sections of the community, particularly younger or less
educated readers. This may reinforce a growing gap among citizens between the information that
they receive.
Purpose of the Study The overview of the subject matter is that the big worry is that quality will
decline Journalists are employed to check their facts and they get checked in turn by editors who
question the reliability of their sources; we trust the paper s brand not the individual journalist.
Social media could be reliable, but how would we know? This is equally true then it comes to
bias. But the fact of the matter is journalism is more credible and if we lose credibility in the
information we get everything could fall for speculation. The authors thesis is we should not stand
for the decline of journalism as a profession but support our right to have valuable information

Observational Learning
Observational learning is when learning happens by observing other people s actions. Observational
learning involves cognitive processes such as attention, motor skills, motivation, and memory. For
observational learning to take place the person who is observing the behavior needs to be paying
attention to it in order to learn it. Another important part of observational learningis being able to
remember the behavior that you saw, so you can repeat it. As well as being able to remember the
behavior the person also needs to be able to perform the behavior for observational learning to

Drezner Reaction Analysis In Daniel W. Drezner s book, Theories of International Politics and
Zombies, Drezner explores the theoretical impact a zombie apocalypse would have on international
relations. In his exploration of ideas, Drezner analyzes the approaches of different types of feminism
disciplines to a zombie apocalypse. The two feminist ideas he explores are liberal feminism and
post structuralist feminism. Drezner however, ignores the idea of a radical feminist approach in a
critical time such as a zombie apocalypse. As an important discipline and idea around feminism,
Drezner s lack of acknowledgement of this idea proves to be hurtful to his argument of the
reaction of feminists as a whole to a potential zombie apocalypse. I will apply radical feminism to a
zombie apocalypse to better understand Drezner s focus on feminism, and contrast these ideas with
those explored in the book. I am to explore the differences between radical feminism and the two
feminist theories Drezner focuses on, liberalism and post structuralism.
Daniel Drezner explains the ideas that many feminist s share: the world is vastly different for
women than it is for men. The gap between the genders is to the detriment of women. Radical

The Mexican war had many battles, while America won all battles fought, Mexico was adamant
in putting up a fight against America, as they were not willing to give up Texas to America. The
Mexican war lasted longer than Polk had hoped for, it lasted well over a year. While war
continued Polk feared that Taylor could not achieve tactical skills to defeat Mexico. Polk also
feared that Taylor would gain political power if he was successful with his tactic against
Mexico, and he did gain that political power that Polk feared he would have. While Polk was
fearful he also went ahead and made orders to move offensive tactics against New Mexico and
California. Kearny saw that America needed help, so he helped to bring American forces
together under his command, eventually they had complete control over California. Mexico
was still adamant not to be defeated by America. Polk and General Winfield Scott decided that
the war had gone on long enough. Scott advanced on the Mexicans, and while he did so he was
able to keep a low body count of his own soldiers, while he had never lost a battle before finally
seizing the Mexican capital. After seizing the Mexican capital, a New Mexican government took
control and was now willing to negotiate peace with America. Polk still was wanting to annex
more of Mexico, but wanted the war to be over so, he sent Nicholas Trist to decide on a settlement.

Peter Pan Reflection
Altering Tink Sam Taylor (CEO), once said, If we aren t willing to change and keep up with
innovation someone else will. If someone isn t motivated to move forward and create new ideas,
there will be someone else that will succeed in their place. People need change sometime, or their
lives would be dull, static, and boring. Change is crucial to a person s life to show dynamic
differences in their characteristics. It is important for people to be flexible and open minded in
different experiences to handle future circumstances. Change is the key to determine one s future.
In J.M. Barrie s Peter Pan, the character Tinker Bellis dynamic as illustrated by her words, actions,
and motivations. To start, Tinker Bell is shown to be dynamic depicted through her unkind
words. An example of this from the book is when Tink treats Wendy offensively by calling her
ugly: He had to translate. She is not very polite. She says you are a great ugly girl, and that she is
my fairy(Barrie 27). Tinker Bell is shown to be uncivil and boorish towards Wendy by calling her
ugly. As a perfect antagonist, she creates tension and suspense in the story with her threats
towards Wendy. Without remorse, Tink doesn t even apologize to Wendy. With this type of
behavior, she shows her nasty side, her lack of concern for her feelings, and how she may have
hurt them. However, while Tinker Bell expressed in words, her more cruel side, being churlish
towards Wendy, that doesn t represent her whole self. Next, Tinker Bell illustrates her dynamic
self through her actions towards other characters, like Peter. For instance, when Tink plays the
role of protagonist towards Peter by saving his life: No time for words now; time for deeds;and
with one of her lightning movements Tink got between his lips and the draught, and drained it
to the dregs (121). Tink flew in front of Peter s lips before he could drink the poison knowing it
could kill either Peter or herself depending on who drank it. Tinker Bell shows a caring and
selfless side through an action that could kill her, but her love for Peter was so strong, she had no
choice. This makes her a protagonist. All in all, she was Peter s hero that night, and this explains
how Tink is not

Political Bias
Everywhere we look and listen there is bias. News stations and news reporters claim that they are
unbiased by are they really? Brooke Gladstone s, The Influencing Machine deciphers the different
types of biases. News stations such as CNN report on politics and news related to politics. The New
York Times reports on breaking newsstories such as 9/11 or Boston Bombings. The Today reports
on breaking news stories and stories for the family. Biascomes in all forms and shapes from the
newspaperwe read in the morning to the news we watch at night. There will always be political
bias, whether it is election season or the middle of the politicians term. It is prior knowledge of
many that CNN favors the Liberals on the political spectrum. The editors of CNN are very
politically biased and often times showcase the positive side of the Liberals and the negative
side of the Conservatives. In the article, Liberals Win Big the writer, Zelizer, writes about a
major victory for the Liberals. The Supreme Court on June 26, 2015 sided with the Liberal
advocates and ruled that states cannot ban same sex marriage. This ruling of The Supreme Court
was a huge accomplishment for the Liberals, but a major loss to the Conservatives. This article
showcases the positive side of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We can watch, listen to it, and read it. Nothing is unbiased. No news station or newspaper is
unbiased. Everything has bias whether it is subtle or not so subtle. I have bias for almost
everything. I have bias for stores, perfume, clothes, shoes, food, and even laundry detergent. I
make decisions based on bias. I choose to watch CNN because it has a Liberal bias. I read The New
York Times because I share the same opinions as the editors. I watch The Today Show because I
value the opinions of the cast. Without knowing it, bias is a huge component in how we live our
lives. Bias plays a part in what we watch, listen and even eat. The world is made of bias whether it
is good or

For Many Years, Academics And Athletics At The Ncaa Division
For many years, academics and athletics at the NCAA Division 1 level have been guided by
different priorities, admitting college athletes who are unqualified for an education of that level
just because of their ability to perform on the playing field. Now more than ever, professional
teams are scouting student athletes well into their high school days. In a lot of cases, these
athletes need to spend anywhere from one to three years in college before they can be drafted.
This has caused many to wonder what kind of an education colleges are really providing these
student athletes. In many cases, students are given special classes with less work, so that they can
pass. There needs to be steps to fix the problem. But first, we must see why... Show more content on

Many in higher education argue that participation in Division I athletics generates benefits for the
entire institution, including donations, applications, regional economic returns, school spirit, and
even state support. If those returns are in fact true, which both the report and recent research
question, the new Delta report says that may not be enough to justify the divergent trends in
academic and athletic spending, especially during an economic downturn. Possible benefits aside,
comparisons of spending on athletics and academics raise questions about institutional priorities
and whether rising athletic subsidies are appropriate, particularly in the current budgetary
environment, the report states. For many institutions, spending on athletics is sacrosanct, even
when academic spending (such as for faculty pay and academic programs) is being cut or frozen .
The report did not include spending for Division II or Division III programs. The report notes that,
during the downturn, while many institutions faced financial pressure and cut academic programs,
only a few Division I institutions including the University of Maryland at College Park, the
University of California at Berkeley, and Rutgers University cut athletic teams or spending to cope
with budget

After the battle of Palashi in 1757, the English set their colony throughout the indian sub continent

movement over all india and their own egarness to free india from their rule they gave the

Pakistan (todays Bangladesh ) and west Pakistan (todays Pakistan) Background of language
movement: After the division, the two sovereign country became separated. Pakistan was consisted
with two parts East Pakistan and West Pakistan with the distance of 5600 square miles, but the two
parts were different from one another in many sectors including regional differences, political
dissimilar, religious belief, economic importance and other sectors. Where East Pakistan was
economically more solvent than West Pakistan and most of the people of west Pakistan were
Muslim where the maximum inhabitants of east Pakistan were Hindu. On the other hand, there
were various language talked in westPakistan, but the common language of east Pakistan was
Bengali yet the autocratic ruler of west Pakistan wanted to make Urdu as the state language of
Pakistan, then the political, economic, language related clashes took places in many times and one
of them is the language movement of 1952. The reasons of Language movement: There were many

Emily Rose Exorcism
The Exorcism of Emily Rose precise (Primary Source): The Movie of the Exorcism of Emily
Rose is a horror film that was written and directed in 2005 by a Christian follower: Scott
Derrickson. The plot of the film is about a nineteen year old girl whom is possessed by six
demons: Cain, Nero, Judas Iscariot, Legion, Belial, Lucifer. Scott Derrickson wrote intent was to
capture the true events that lead to Anneliese Michel s death of hunger. Due to the Scott
Derrickson s religious background and the trial that took place after the death of Anneliese Michel;
the films intended audience would be for parishioners, Law and Order fans horror film enthusiast,
and religious non believers. The message of the film wasn t to challenges people s ideas and
thoughts of Demons. As Scott Derrickson states: I wanted to make an effective, entertaining,
provocative movie that wasn t attempting to offer the audience metaphysical or spiritual answers,
but was provoking significant religious and spiritual questions. That is the agenda of the film (SPU
Response) . In an attempt to prove the existence of demons, the film illustrates the Blessed Holy...

have been death, or to remain alive and show the world that demons are real by continuing to

forth facts of the accounts of Demons within the courtroom drama, present time, and the flashback
sequence of Emily Roses demonic possessions. The movie ends with Emily Roses priest being
found guilty of negligent homicide, however, was free to walk out of the court room. In the end

Wishes In The Raven
A wish is a hope or desire for something. Fictionally, wishes can be used as plot devices. In
folklore, opportunities for making a wish or for wishes to come true or be granted are themes that
are sometimes used.
In literature
In fiction a wish is a supernatural demand placed on the recipient s unlimited request. When it is the
center of a tale, the wish is usually a template for a morality tale, be careful what you wish for ; it
can also be a small part of a tale, in which case it is often used as a plot device. One can wish on
many things for example: wishing wells, dandelions when one blows the seeds or light them on
fire, stars and much more. When one wishes in a well he or she throws money in, in the hope his
or her wish comes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some wishes appear to be granted by nothing in particular. Snow White s mother s wish for a
beautiful child might have been a coincidence, but the father s wish in The Seven Ravens
transforms his seven sons into ravens, just as the mother s wish in The Raven transforms her
daughter. This is common in a tale involving a person, male or female, wishing for a child, even
one that is a hedgehog, or a sprig of myrtle, or no bigger than a hazel nut.
The number of wishes granted varies. Aladdin had an unlimited number in the original story, but
was restricted to three wishes in the 1992 Disney film. As in the Charles Perrault tale The
Ridiculous Wishes, three is the most common, but others may be granted to fit the constraints of
the tale. Several authors have spun variations of the wish for more wishes theme, though some
disallow this as cheating. In many stories the wording of the wish is extremely important. For
example, characters often say, I wish I was wealthy. This wording could be taken literally, the wish
granted so that at one time the wisher was wealthy but is not any more. Saying, I wish to be
wealthy , then because to

Religious Experience As An Argument For The Existence Of God
Key Concepts of Religious Experience as an Argument for the Existence of God
The argument is of an a posterioi nature, therefore it is inductive. This means the argument uses
data and evidence from which conclusions are drawn. The argument of experience must involve a
sense of encounter, the experience of the encounter therefore has been seen, felt and sensed and
therefore making the experience exist to us (Hume). These experiences seem to be widespread
throughout society and therefore can be claimed to be a normal occurrence. David Hay in his book
The Spiritual Experience of the British in 1979 his findings are counter intuitive, his findings show
that roughly 50% of the sample reported having ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The religious experiences have to be interpreted, this gives the possibility that interpretations will be
different and that these interpretations will be personal. The interpretations result in the reliability
of the experiences to be questioned, also it can be argued that the experience is just an
interpretation, and that this interpretation can change. We could argue that some people are
justified in interpreting their experiences religiously whilst others are justified in presenting
alternative explanations for the same phenomenon. Another problem is that we know our senses
can be deceived, for example Optical Illusions, this implies that perhaps religious experiences are
just illusions. There are 2 possible outcomes, one is that the interpretation is of Reality I think
therefore I am (Descartes) or it is of an opposite nature When a man tells me God has spoken to him
in a dream... it is no more than to say he dreamed God spoke to him .
Richard Swinburne s principle of Credulity and Testimony, help to support peoples interpretations
of experiences by stating that people who make such claims have a right to be taken seriously. If a
recipient of such an experience is normally a person who is sincere and trustworthy, the likelihood
is that their testimony has strong credibility. Religious experiences are rational proof of a belief in
religion/God s existence.

The Importance of Memory in Margaret Atwood s Handmaid s...
For this essay I aim to show the importance of memory and of remembering the past in The
Handmaid s Tale by Margaret Atwood. The Handmaid s Tale is a speculative fiction first
published in 1985 but set in the early 2000s. The novel was in response to changes in US politics
with the emergence of Christian fundamentalism, the New Right. Atwood believed that society
was going wrong and wrote this savage satire, similar to Jonathan Swift s A Modest Proposal ,
depicting a dystopia which she uses as a mirror to hold up to society. I will be focusing on the
main character and narrator, Offred, a handmaid who mingles memories of her life before the
revolution with her rebellious activities under the new regime (book group corner), as she... Show

She forgets where she is and remembers her past life as a waitress. The line between fantasizing
about the past and the harsh reality of her new life breaks down. She smiles blankly at the other
Handmaids and asks them how they are doing. She had a lapse similar to this at the Red Centre
where Handmaids were taught how to act in this new regime. Janine s mental state was frail to
begin with and her automatic reaction to scenes of brutality or stress set off her memories of her
previous life. Janine s breakdown shows how memories affect us. Janine cannot handle the
deprivation she is now faced with compared to the freedoms of her past.
There is a strong link between memories and hope. Raffaela Baccolini discusses this link in her
article The Persistence of Hope in Dystopian Science Fiction. She says that Utopia is maintained in
dystopia, traditionally a bleak, depressing genre with no space for hope in the story, only outside
the story. Offred does not have much, if anything, to stimulate herself with mentally. She is in a
bare room with shatterproof glass that has been made safe to prevent her from committing suicide.
Her only escape is her mind which harbours her memories. She has no hope in her story, which is
her life, but she does have hope

As per the proposal, Bajaj Group s auto business will be demerged into a new subsidiary Bajaj Holdings and Investment Ltd (BHIL) and other strategic businesses such as wind energy, insurance and financial services would be demerged into another new entity Bajaj Finserv Ltd (BFL). Bajaj Auto shareholders would continue to hold one share of the company with face value of Rs 10 and would also be allotted one BHIL share of Rs 10 face value and one BFL share of Rs 5 face value. The demerger would be completed this year. Rebuffing suggestions that the move was to spilt the group, he said: I will be the chairman of all the three companies. It is not a split of Bajaj Auto. Out of Rs 8,500 crore cash and cash equivalents, Rs 1,500 cr will go to the new Bajaj Auto and Rs 800 crore will be transferred to BFL. The balance Rs 6,000 crore will remain with the BHIL, Bajaj said. The transaction will enable the new companies to tap into the cash pool of BHIL to support future growth, while enabling BHIL to participate in the growth of the auto business and the financial services business. • 4. Mrs. Whipple and Her Son in Katherine Porter s He Essay Mrs. Whipple and Her Son in Katherine Porter s He In the story He by Katherine Porter, the main character Mrs. Whipple is often seen as a cruel, neglectful mother who mistreats her son, and there is ample evidence to support this view. But there is another away to look at Mrs. Whipple: she can also be perceived as a pitiful mother being forced to raise a retarded child that is totally incapable of returning her love. After closer inspection, however, it becomes evident that Mrs. Whipple does the best she can under very harsh circumstances, to raise and nurture her son to the best of her ability. She treats her son the way she does out of necessity and therefore should not be hated or pitied for her treatment of Him. In his book, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mrs. Whipple feels her neighbors are unfairly judging her because of her son s handicap. She probably knows that they talk about her behind her back and suggest that there is bad blood in her family. She also feels guilty about His condition; so she may suspect that it is somehow her fault. Consequently, she feels she must justify herself to them, and is very careful not to do things that will cause them to continually talk about her. Once again, this is a natural response and does not mean she is a bad mother. It can also be suggested that Mrs. Whipple is outright cruel to her son. It seems as if she makes Him do things around the farm that she does not make the others do. For example, she lets Him handle the stinging bees. Her older son Adna always gets stung, yet He does not seem to mind. This is a chore that has to be done, so she lets Him do the job. In addition, making Him capture the small pig from its mother, or lead a dangerous bull home seems unkind. Actually, Adna is unable to capture the pig, and her husband refuses to lead home the bull, so again, out of necessity she has Him do these things. He was made to plow the fields because He is the biggest and strongest and is also able to take over Adna s work when He leaves home. The fact is, she lets Him do all of these things ... • 5. Differences Involved In The Digestive System The digestive system is one of the main organ systems. The first process in the digestive system is to consume the food. This is called ingestion. The digestive system is what absorbs and breaks down the food and drinks that were eaten. The digestive organs break down food in two ways, mechanical digestion and chemical digestion. In mechanical digestion, the processes starts from the mouth to the stomach. During this process the food gets broken into smaller sizes. Then from there chemical digestions begins to occur. Chemical digestion is when many different enzymes break down the molecules so that they can be absorbed. Chemical digestion begins in the mouth and continues in the intestines. The mouth does two things, mechanical breakdown of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The food is changed into chyme which is a slimy material. The chyme gets mixed with highly acidic gastric juice and strong digestive enzymes in the stomach. This is to prepare the chyme for the small intestine. There are hormones like gastine and molin that help move the chyme and pump gastric juice. The chyme then goes to the first part of the small intestine called the duodenum. The small intestines have three parts which are the duodenum, jejunum, and the ileum. The small intestines break down the chyme by enzymes from the pancreas and bile. The pancreas produces insulin which controls metabolism in the blood and enzymes that break down fats, carbohydrates, and protein. Then the gallbladder releases the bile it stores into the duodenum to absorb fats. The duodenum is mostly the continuous breakdown of the chyme while the jejunum and ileum absorb the nutrients. All the nutrients get absorbed from the foods (vitamins, proteins, minerals, fats, and carbohydrates) that travel into the bloodstream throughout the body. This is the third main function called absorption. The liver absorbs all the nutrients from the small intestines. Another thing that the liver does is it makes chemicals from the nutrients it absorbs that the body needs. It also breaks down poisons and drugs in the body. From the small intestines come the large intestines (colon) that are attached to the small ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Not quite sure why I saw the child as a girl though, I guess I just imagined a father dancing with his daughter from the title alone. Like at a wedding, when the father and daughter dance. And so, I had thought that this was an awkward dance between a father and his daughter. The father was drunk, of course, from the line, The whiskey on your breath. Little Red Riding Hood and Grandmother’s Tale Essay Little Red Riding Hood and Grandmother s tale Folktales has created men as the most powerful character in most stories but that does not mean always as there s a difference in Grandmother s tale and Little Red Riding hood. Different genders have different expectations according to their characteristics. The Red Riding Hood and Grandmother s tale has produced ideas such as how a girl s life is looked upon in the past and how the male has the upper hand in most situations according to the stories. This essay will argue about how the girl s gender played a major role in the context of the story and how the wolf is represented by a male character and why the male is not always the most powerful character in all stories and the comparison ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is because needles are much harder to master and takes a lot of time to be good at it while pins are easy to use so this could mean that the male character has more experience than the female in life so he took the path of needles. In grandmother s tale the wolf puts the grandmother s blood and flesh for the girl to eat and drink. But the girl did not know anything about it so she drank it and while she was doing so the cat and the bird could represent society as they tried to stop her from drinking the grandmother s blood. But she did not listen to what they were saying and listened to the wolf who then tells her to take off [her] clothes and come to bed . By doing what the wolf says this may be interpreted as how the wolf is trying to transform the girl into being like him by doing what he does. This could also mean the male character has more sexual experiences than the girl. Because needles are harder to use than pins which mean without practice needles can hurt. Furthermore, in Red Riding Hood she was wearing red which is the colour of blood as she was a virgin she became the prey of the wolf. Population Health Management Paper Population Health Management is the iterative process of managing clinical, financial and operational entities to help boost health outcomes and patient engagement, while also decreasing expenses (Mellin Funk, 2014). This capstone project will depict what Population Health Management (PHM) is and how it is incorporated within the military and civilian healthcare industry. It will focus on what PHM can bring to healthcare organizations as well as discussing the challenges they could face. PHM relies on electronic health information. Patient Registries are computerized systems that will maintain data for individual patients especially if they have a specific disease (Howard, 2015). Personal Health Records: To help improve PHM programs patients and physicians need to be actively involved. In order to help engage patients a personal health record should be established. This will allow patients to view their own clinical results and be able to communicate with their health care team. Conclusion The rapidly increase of health care costs and the limited amount of access to healthcare readily available has made the United States alter the way their healthcare is delivered to the population. Population Health Management (PHM) programs are being promoted as a tactical initiative for the future state of all healthcare organizations (Cassidy, 2013). Population Health Management is the topic of many studies as an iterative strategy for success as the healthcare industry changes in regards to the government s regulations. It is also a valuable tool used to deduct costs. Health care administrators need to focus on developing and implementing a Population Heath Management program. Well you must have fallen victim of bad advise that is in the internet concerning weight loss. Some are unproven methods or literally proven not to work. Here are some common myths. All calories are the same. Different foods go through a different metabolism pathway therefore have different effect on hunger and hormones that regulate body weight. Calories found in refined foods are less filling and require one to eat more leading to weight gain while calories in whole foods are bulky and more filling. Carbs make you fat. It seems logic but there is nothing fattening about fat. As long as calories ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Actually it never works in long term. It leads to weight gain in the future. You shouldn t approach weight loss with a dieting mindset instead make it a life plan to be happier, healthier and fitter. Eating smaller meals make you burn more calories, well this is a myth too. Eat when you are hungry and stop when you are full. You should eat to satisfy hunger not appetite. Eating less and work out more. This may seem true because when calories out surpass calories in fat is lost but this at times makes the body go into starvation mode. When the body does that it will conserve every possible calorie, breaking down muscle tissue as well as fat, endangering ones health and making weight loss difficult. Weight loss should involve eating right, the right kind of foodand the right amount of food. Losing weight is linear process. This is not true, it may fluctuate. Calderon, Li Wang and Thomas Klenotic George W. Daverio School of Accountancy, The University of Akron, Akron, Ohio, USA 693 Abstract Purpose The authors posit that audit fees are driven by historical risk factors and risk encountered in the current period. The purpose of this paper is to focus on historical risk by examining the incremental effect of material weakness in internal control (MW) identiп¬Ѓed in prior periods on current audit fees, after current risk factors are controlled for. Design/methodology/approach The paper uses ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Increased engagement effort due to high risk in ICFR can be passed along to clients through audit fees. In addition, audit tests cannot uncover all possible material misstatements; as a result, auditors may add a risk premium to audit fees for risky clients. Such risk premiums, which compensate the auditors for potential losses associated with high risk clients, go beyond the incremental fees the auditors may charge for increased audit effort. Although studies prior to SOX yield mixed results (O Keefe et al., 1994; Felix et al., 2001), recent studies have found supporting evidence of a contemporaneous positive relationship between current control risk and current audit fees by using ICDs disclosures under SOX (Raghunadan and Rama, 2006; Hoitash et al., 2008; Hogan and Wilkins, 2008; Bedard et al., 2008). Nevertheless, prior studies have not addressed whether control risk identiп¬Ѓed in prior periods affects current period audit fees. This is an important question as generally accepted auditing standards require the auditor to assess the effects of prior ICFR deп¬Ѓciencies on current period audit procedures and risk assessment. In practice, auditors rely heavily on past audit results in audit planning for the current period. Thus, past ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What is really needed is to pass the Foreign Service Exam. This exam consists of a written exam, oral interview, and a negotiating exercise. After passing the test a medical and security clearance is then required. Passing all those will allow you to be selected into the Foreign Service for the United States government. This process is said to be more selective than Harvard University (Working Abroad). • 13. The Physiological Effect Of Nitric Oxide The physiological effects of nitric oxide were first recognized in 1876, but was not acknowledged for its physiological and medical usage until the late 20th century. Since then, inhaled nitric oxide has been used by medical clinicians for the treatment of neonates who suffer from hypoxic respiratory failure linked with persistent pulmonary hypertension and for the treatment of adults with pulmonary hypertension associated with respiratory distress syndrome. Although inhaled nitric oxidehas been known to offer great benefits for patients with respiratory diseases, it may also have a detrimental effect on patients if the accurate amount of dosage is not administered properly. To ensure the proper dosage is being administered to the patient, there are several newly designed nitric oxide systems being developed to use in conjunction with mechanical ventilation or for single use. Nitric oxide therapy has improved drastically over the last twenty years, but it is still being developed and researched in pursuit of the most effective treatment for patients with respiratory diseases. Nitric oxide is a toxic gas that supports combustion, it is also colorless, odorless, highly diffusible, but nonflammable unless mixed with another gas. The Environmental Problem Of Oil Spill Oil Spill A B S T R A C T Oil spill pollution, a severe environmental problem which arouses in a marine environment or in the water bodies, has grown into an alarming scale with the increase in oil production and transportation. Causes are either accidental or due to operational failure. Henceforth, it is almost impossible for marine life not to be a victim of this vulnerable zone. Our planet has the largest oil reserves, occasionally it cracks and rarely causes a major accident. However, human interference causes a devastating damage to marine and ecosystem. Introduction Oil is marked as the most used non renewable natural resource throughout the planet. Innovations in the automobile technology has increased the demand for hydrocarbons as its used for the source of heat and light. Development in the petrochemical industry boosted the oil supply throughout the world. Today we have miles and miles of wired petroleumpipelines and tons of crude oil on the go. The quantity of oil transported over the sea has enormously increased in volume with tankers from a capacity of 100,000 to 500,000 tons resulting in increased possibilities of spillage by accident. In the event of an accident, oil pollution will be encountered in the marine environment or in inland water. Within the past years Oil spills have created enormous debates and unhealthy concerns for the ecosystem. On April 22nd , 2010 will be remembered as one of the darkest days in the history of oil and gas industry. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Inadequate dialogue and unilateral action have caused some insecurity in the region and weakened trust in U.S. steadfastness. When the British withdrew from the Persian Gulf in 1971, the United States became the principal foreign power in the region. For almost three decades it has pursued the goal of preserving regional stability, using a variety of means to that end, particularly regarding the northern Gulf powers of Iraq and Iran. At first the United States relied on Iran as its chief regional proxy, supporting the shah s regime in the hope that it would be a source of stability. This policy collapsed in 1979 with the Iranian Revolution, when Iran switched from staunch ally to implacable foe. During the 1980s, the United States strove to maintain a de facto balance of power between Iraq and Iran so that neither would be able to achieve a regional hegemony that might threaten American interests. That is when the light bulb in our intellectual brains and the idea of snowremoval came to mind. It was an appropriate job for the winter season. With heavy snow flurries in the forecast, this would be an achievable accomplishment. With the service in mind our next step was to pick a location. We did not want to select the wealthy neighborhoods because the residents there would probably be financially able to pay for such services. The location that we settled on was not a poverty stricken area, but the homes consisted of elderly residence. To avoid complications with the occupants of the home and explain our reasoning for the free service we wanted to only do homes were the residence weren t present. That did not hold up to a standard when we actually got around to carry out the service. The whole point of going out and helping people of Juneau with their snow blanketed driveways, walkways, and porches too was to gain self respect and also to prove to the world that good can come from anything and anywhere too. During this time, people of various races were forced to work for those above them and were treated almost as less than human. When comparing and contrasting slavery in these two places, one can see similarities and differences in how the slaves were acquired, treated, freed, and the type of labor they had to undertake. During the 1600s, a small number of African American slaves worked on plantations because, until the end of this time, it cost the slave owners less to buy white servants than slaves. However, this changed by the end of the 17th century as the African American slaves became set apart as a different group than the white servants and cost a substantial amount less than that of a white servant slavery ( The Roots of Racism ). At this point slavery was, like in Ancient Rome, based off of economic reasons and did not involve any racial discriminations. This idea of slavery changed over time as rebellions broke out. These rebellions, such as the Bacon s Rebellion, brought on full scale racial slavery ( The Roots of Racism ). This began the process of African Americans being thought of as subhuman and strengthened the idea of white supremacy. This showed a major development between the two societies as the Romans developed slavery to have their work done for them, but this idea gradually changed into an almost entirely racial act, as shown in America. However, I was surprised and shocked to discover how very human each personage really was. A typical novel is told in the point of view of one individual with whom we, the audience, tend to sympathize with. We know their thoughts and feelings and we cheer them on , while despising the antagonists. In Guth s The Marriage of Figaro, I found myself wishing for good closure for each and every one of the characters despite the fact that they are the source of each other s misery. Despite a solid effort from all voice parts and some disconcertingly beautiful standout arias, overall, I found the libretto and Guth s atmospheric changes to be much too disconnected, resulting, for me, in a somewhat disappointing Marriage of Figaro. Functionalism states that having a mind does not require a brain and mental states can be realized by other kinds of substances. Mental states are also defined by their functions. For that, Ockham s razor denied the objection to the mind body dualism because it assumed too much. Along with that, materialism was able to prove that without having a soul, computers can still be intelligent like a human. Functionalism was an influence that made people believe in the possibility that machines can be intelligent. It also identifies mental states by what they do rather than what they are made of and there in that statement, the mind body dualism is denied by functionalism. Perhaps mental states are more a matter of software, like running a program on your computer (Rosen et al., 355). If a certain percentage of songs are the same in the list of songs two users have played, the system will recommend songs to the first user from the list of the other one. Computer and mobile games use all programming concepts we have covered in this course: they store lots of data for example boolean variables to check if objectives have been completed and integers or floats to keep track of the user s score, they use loops and functions for all kinds of things like running the game while the player s health is above 0 or a function to make the player character move when a key is pressed. • 27. The Relationship Between Solicitors And Society The relationship between solicitors and society is a unique one. If law is the system of rules which a particular country or community recognizes as regulating the actions of its members , then solicitors are the agents who operate in its vast framework, acting as a voice for the people. In this sense, it is undeniable that the legal profession exists to serve society as well as the court. Because of the nature of this relationship the conduct of solicitors is paramount in ensuring that public trust is maintained in the services solicitors offer. This has resulted in the public expectation that solicitors conduct themselves in an ethical manner. When describing conduct, there are many possible definitions of ethics. In the oxford dictionary ethics is defined as Moral principles that govern a person s behaviour or the conducting of an activity . Tracey Calvert (a regulatory compliance specialist and member of the policy team which drafted the SRA handbook) defines ethics as Behaviour which defines the characteristic between professional and employer . When applied in the context of law, these definitions suggest that a set of values should shape the behaviour of solicitors, as well as their relationships with their clients. The Decline of Journalism as a Profession Introduction The belief that journalism is in decline has triggered major alarms, because society needs an informational environment that is easily available to all citizens such as newspapers. There is a large body of journalist that suggests that if television has taken over from the press as our main source of news this may limit our capacity to learn about public affairs; newspapers are believed to be far more effective than television at conveying detailed information necessary to understand complex and detailed issues. There is also widespread concern that if journalismfails as a profession it will not be able to reach large sections of the community, particularly younger or less educated readers. This may reinforce a growing gap among citizens between the information that they receive. Purpose of the Study The overview of the subject matter is that the big worry is that quality will decline Journalists are employed to check their facts and they get checked in turn by editors who question the reliability of their sources; we trust the paper s brand not the individual journalist. Drezner s book, Theories of International Politics and Zombies, Drezner explores the theoretical impact a zombie apocalypse would have on international relations. In his exploration of ideas, Drezner analyzes the approaches of different types of feminism disciplines to a zombie apocalypse. The two feminist ideas he explores are liberal feminism and post structuralist feminism. Drezner however, ignores the idea of a radical feminist approach in a critical time such as a zombie apocalypse. As an important discipline and idea around feminism, Drezner s lack of acknowledgement of this idea proves to be hurtful to his argument of the reaction of feminists as a whole to a potential zombie apocalypse. I will apply radical feminism to a zombie apocalypse to better understand Drezner s focus on feminism, and contrast these ideas with those explored in the book. I am to explore the differences between radical feminism and the two feminist theories Drezner focuses on, liberalism and post structuralism. Daniel Drezner explains the ideas that many feminist s share: the world is vastly different for women than it is for men. The gap between the genders is to the detriment of women. Radical feminist would concur with this point. Radical feminism centers on the idea that the suppression of the female gender is the main focus of all oppression within the world (Rowland and ... • 35. Essay On Manifest Destiny Manifest Destiny has many topics to choose from, the Annexation and war with Mexico being one of them. Annexation is the action of invading, most times it was about invading land. There were more Americans living in Texas then there were Mexicans. Eventually Texas became an independent republic in 1836, this simply added to the events leading up to the war with Mexico. The purpose of this essay is to understand the Annexation of Texas, how the war with Mexico began, what happened in the Mexican war, who contributed to the Annexation of Texas, and how all this ties in with Manifest Destiny. The Annexation of Texas was the process of transitioning Texas into being a part of the United States. While Mexico objected the idea of Texas being... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Mexican war had many battles, while America won all battles fought, Mexico was adamant in putting up a fight against America, as they were not willing to give up Texas to America. The Mexican war lasted longer than Polk had hoped for, it lasted well over a year. While war continued Polk feared that Taylor could not achieve tactical skills to defeat Mexico. Polk also feared that Taylor would gain political power if he was successful with his tactic against Mexico, and he did gain that political power that Polk feared he would have. While Polk was fearful he also went ahead and made orders to move offensive tactics against New Mexico and California. Kearny saw that America needed help, so he helped to bring American forces together under his command, eventually they had complete control over California. Mexico was still adamant not to be defeated by America. Polk and General Winfield Scott decided that the war had gone on long enough. Scott advanced on the Mexicans, and while he did so he was able to keep a low body count of his own soldiers, while he had never lost a battle before finally seizing the Mexican capital. After seizing the Mexican capital, a New Mexican government took control and was now willing to negotiate peace with America. Polk still was wanting to annex more of Mexico, but wanted the war to be over so, he sent Nicholas Trist to decide on a settlement. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Analysis Of Uncle Tom s Cabin By Harriet Beecher Stowe Harriet Beecher Stowe was an author during the 1800s and wrote Uncle Tom s Cabin which was far ahead of its time and depicted the evils of slavery. Harriet Beecher Stowe was born on June 14th, 1811 in Litchfield, Connecticut as the seventh child of Lyman and Roxana Beecher. Being that she was born in the North to extremely religious parents, she too of course was quite religious as well as an abolitionist. Unlike most women of her time period, Harriet Beecher Stowewas educated at a school for girls in all of the classic subjects(language, math, etc.). • 38. Peter Pan Reflection Altering Tink Sam Taylor (CEO), once said, If we aren t willing to change and keep up with innovation someone else will. If someone isn t motivated to move forward and create new ideas, there will be someone else that will succeed in their place. People need change sometime, or their lives would be dull, static, and boring. Change is crucial to a person s life to show dynamic differences in their characteristics. It is important for people to be flexible and open minded in different experiences to handle future circumstances. Change is the key to determine one s future. In J.M. Barrie s Peter Pan, the character Tinker Bellis dynamic as illustrated by her words, actions, and motivations. To start, Tinker Bell is shown to be dynamic depicted through her unkind words. An example of this from the book is when Tink treats Wendy offensively by calling her ugly: He had to translate. She is not very polite. She says you are a great ugly girl, and that she is my fairy(Barrie 27). Tinker Bell is shown to be uncivil and boorish towards Wendy by calling her ugly. As a perfect antagonist, she creates tension and suspense in the story with her threats towards Wendy. Without remorse, Tink doesn t even apologize to Wendy. With this type of behavior, she shows her nasty side, her lack of concern for her feelings, and how she may have hurt them. However, while Tinker Bell expressed in words, her more cruel side, being churlish towards Wendy, that doesn t represent her whole self. Next, Tinker Bell illustrates her dynamic self through her actions towards other characters, like Peter. For instance, when Tink plays the role of protagonist towards Peter by saving his life: No time for words now; time for deeds;and with one of her lightning movements Tink got between his lips and the draught, and drained it to the dregs (121). Tink flew in front of Peter s lips before he could drink the poison knowing it could kill either Peter or herself depending on who drank it. Tinker Bell shows a caring and selfless side through an action that could kill her, but her love for Peter was so strong, she had no choice. This makes her a protagonist. All in all, she was Peter s hero that night, and this explains how Tink is not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In a lot of cases, these athletes need to spend anywhere from one to three years in college before they can be drafted. In folklore, opportunities for making a wish or for wishes to come true or be granted are themes that are sometimes used. In literature In fiction a wish is a supernatural demand placed on the recipient s unlimited request. When it is the center of a tale, the wish is usually a template for a morality tale, be careful what you wish for ; it can also be a small part of a tale, in which case it is often used as a plot device. One can wish on many things for example: wishing wells, dandelions when one blows the seeds or light them on fire, stars and much more. Snow White s mother s wish for a beautiful child might have been a coincidence, but the father s wish in The Seven Ravens transforms his seven sons into ravens, just as the mother s wish in The Raven transforms her daughter. This is common in a tale involving a person, male or female, wishing for a child, even one that is a hedgehog, or a sprig of myrtle, or no bigger than a hazel nut. The number of wishes granted varies. Aladdin had an unlimited number in the original story, but was restricted to three wishes in the 1992 Disney film. As in the Charles Perrault tale The Ridiculous Wishes, three is the most common, but others may be granted to fit the constraints of the tale. Several authors have spun variations of the wish for more wishes theme, though some disallow this as cheating. In many stories the wording of the wish is extremely important. For example, characters often say, I wish I was wealthy. This wording could be taken literally, the wish granted so that at one time the wisher was wealthy but is not any more. • 44. Religious Experience As An Argument For The Existence Of God Key Concepts of Religious Experience as an Argument for the Existence of God The argument is of an a posterioi nature, therefore it is inductive. This means the argument uses data and evidence from which conclusions are drawn. The argument of experience must involve a sense of encounter, the experience of the encounter therefore has been seen, felt and sensed and therefore making the experience exist to us (Hume). These experiences seem to be widespread throughout society and therefore can be claimed to be a normal occurrence. David Hay in his book The Spiritual Experience of the British in 1979 his findings are counter intuitive, his findings show that roughly 50% of the sample reported having ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The religious experiences have to be interpreted, this gives the possibility that interpretations will be different and that these interpretations will be personal. The interpretations result in the reliability of the experiences to be questioned, also it can be argued that the experience is just an interpretation, and that this interpretation can change. We could argue that some people are justified in interpreting their experiences religiously whilst others are justified in presenting alternative explanations for the same phenomenon. Another problem is that we know our senses can be deceived, for example Optical Illusions, this implies that perhaps religious experiences are just illusions. There are 2 possible outcomes, one is that the interpretation is of Reality I think therefore I am (Descartes) or it is of an opposite nature When a man tells me God has spoken to him in a dream... it is no more than to say he dreamed God spoke to him . Richard Swinburne s principle of Credulity and Testimony, help to support peoples interpretations of experiences by stating that people who make such claims have a right to be taken seriously. • 45. The Importance of Memory in Margaret Atwood s Handmaid s... For this essay I aim to show the importance of memory and of remembering the past in The Handmaid s Tale by Margaret Atwood. The Handmaid s Tale is a speculative fiction first published in 1985 but set in the early 2000s. The novel was in response to changes in US politics with the emergence of Christian fundamentalism, the New Right. Atwood believed that society was going wrong and wrote this savage satire, similar to Jonathan Swift s A Modest Proposal , depicting a dystopia which she uses as a mirror to hold up to society. I will be focusing on the main character and narrator, Offred, a handmaid who mingles memories of her life before the revolution with her rebellious activities under the new regime (book group corner), as she... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She forgets where she is and remembers her past life as a waitress. The line between fantasizing about the past and the harsh reality of her new life breaks down. She smiles blankly at the other Handmaids and asks them how they are doing. She had a lapse similar to this at the Red Centre where Handmaids were taught how to act in this new regime. Janine s mental state was frail to begin with and her automatic reaction to scenes of brutality or stress set off her memories of her previous life. Janine s breakdown shows how memories affect us. Janine cannot handle the deprivation she is now faced with compared to the freedoms of her past. There is a strong link between memories and hope. Raffaela Baccolini discusses this link in her article The Persistence of Hope in Dystopian Science Fiction. She says that Utopia is maintained in dystopia, traditionally a bleak, depressing genre with no space for hope in the story, only outside the story. Offred does not have much, if anything, to stimulate herself with mentally. She is in a bare room with shatterproof glass that has been made safe to prevent her from committing suicide. Her only escape is her mind which harbours her memories. She has no hope in her story, which is her life, but she does have hope ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
