The American Obesity association (AOA) defines obesity in children as a BMI at or above the 95th
percentile for a child of that age and sex (Elementary Classroom Teachers as Movement Educators

children helps increase their risk factors of becoming obese. A quality physical education program
helps off set by encouraging children to be active. Children are required to do moderate to vigorous
physical activity for the recommended time which helps they burn of calories. The more calories a
student is able to burn the more weight they lose. Georgia Standard four states that children achieves

Martin Luther King Jr., the author of Letter to Birmingham Jail, that was written in 1963, uses many
rhetorical strategies throughout his letter;. Additionallyconsequently, he uses these strategies to get his
points across. For example,The rhetorical devices he employsuses are repetition, he uses ethos, and he

Movement. Furthermore, segregation was happening, and racial discrimination between blacks and
whites is commonplace.were not treated equally. King uses d rhetorical strategies in order to
emphasize what he was most passionate about; he was his passionate about equality and nonviolent
protestings, for he was a black himself. He usesd his letter in order to bring about make a change.
Therefore, he needed to really get the listeners attention. First of all, Martin Luther King Jr. usesd a
rhetorical strategy of repetition. King is known for his use of repetition, reference his I Hhave a Dream

Plato’s Theory of Forms
Term paper Plato s theory of forms
Everything which exist in this world and all things that we see around us are not as they appear to us
this is the core idea behind plato s theory of forms. From this idea only he moves towards explaining
his world of forms or ideas.
In his book called THE REPUBLIC he tell us that the Good is the end of all endeavour,it is the object
on which every heart is set,so this good according to him has a form, infact all the abstract ideas like
good, justice ,beauty ,love etc has an ideal form according to plato. This form exist outside of space

In a way it solves the problem of permanence and change.in a way it solves the problem of being and
becoming which has existed in the greek philosophy since long.plato s divided line is a perfect answer
to this problem. It combines both being and becoming and tell us that from becoming we have to reach
upto the being that is real.
We perceive a different world through our mind than we do through the senses. It is the material
world, perceived through the senses and this world changing. It is the realm of forms, which one sees
through the mind, this world is permanent. It is this world that is more real; the world of change is
merely an imperfect image of this world. A form is an abstract property or quality. Take any property
of an object and separate it from that object and consider it by itself, this is a form. For instance, when
we talk of a triangle we say that it is a three sided enclosed figure and the sum of whose all sides is
180degrees,but have we ever seen a perfect triangle what we have seen is just a close approximation
of an ideal triangle but not an ideal triangle.

Financial Crisis And Its Effect On The Stock Crisis
BACKGROUND:
The Global Financial crisis started with the burst of US housing bubble, which peaked in 2006. The
main reason for this was the subprime lending, deregulation of the financial sector, off book financing
and underwriting practices. Loans were issued to the customers with poor credit rating thinking that
the price of houses will rise in the future and due to overvaluation. This resulted in decline in credit
availability, damaged investor faith, and reduced international trade and an impact on the stock
market. As European Union has high trade ties and financial ties with US, the European Union
suffered the effects of this financial crisis as well resulting in the Global Financial crisis of 2008 or the

Due to the Global Financial crisis the exports from Greece reduced as it affected other Euro countries
as well. The financial assistance from other countries was reduced. (Rady, D.M. 2012)
Greece s GDP growth rate came to 2.0%.
Due to European integration, Greece was unable to devalue the Euro and reduce the amount of foreign
debt and consequently lead to accumulation of debt. (Krajewska, A. 2014)
The involvement of the troika i.e European Commission, European Central Bank and International
Monetary Fund has helped Greece for two major bailout loan programs but in exchange has been
dictating their domestic policies. Policies ranging from tax reforms, they have controlled wage cuts to
the changes in regulations of even small domestic products. Failure to comply with Troika members
may lead Greece to face a major default and may also lead to Euro exit but on the other hand
upholding their policies is crushing the economic growth

Rhone-Poulenc Rorer, Inc Case-Study
Summary
1.
Almost every aspect of the complexity of the merger can be explained through Rhône Poulenc s
financial constraints. RP s motives to acquire Rorer were to create crucial capital for its own strategic
entry into pharmaceuticals. RP could not buy Rorer either in cash or shares due to the following
factors:
First, RP had limited ability to pay with borrowed cash. The company was more levered than other
firms in the industry. Rhône Poulenc didn t want to borrow all the cash because it would have affected
in a negative way to its balance sheet despite the fact that it borrowed for the cash portion of the deal.
Second, Rhône Poulenc couldn t pay with internally generated cash because, during the announcement

In turn, the world population was aging, analysts noted that computers and biotechnology were aiding
new product development and different analysts recommended to buy the RPR s stock on the long
term.
1.
The $3.2 billion merger was consummated in a three stage transaction, by which Rhône Poulenc
obtained 68% of Rorer s common stock (91.6 shares), which was enough to permit Rhône Poulenc to
consolidate Rorer s results for financial reporting.
First, Rhône Poulenc would tender for 50.1% (43.2 million shares) of Rorer s common stock for
$36.50 cash per share. Rhône Poulenc increased its debt/capital ratio to 45% by borrowing the funds
to finance the tender offer. The debt/capital ratio was considerably high compared to its competitors
ratio of 20 30%.
Second, Rorer assumed $265 million of RP debt (guaranteed by RP), made a $20 million cash
payment to RP, and issued 48.4 million new common shares to RP in exchange for RP s HPB division.
Analysts believed that Rorer s bylaws would require at least 85% of all shares be voted in favor of the
issuance of new shares and, more generally, of this entire transaction.
Third, Rhône Poulenc issued the 41.8 million CVRs to the remaining minority shareholders in Rorer.
A CVR entitled the holder to the right, at the end of three years (July 31, 1993) or four years, at RP s
option, to a cash payment of US$49.13 (or $53.06 if the payment were made at the end of four

Livia Alternate Ending Essay
Livia tried not to put any thoughts toward her husband s new acquisition. The dark haired man fought
like a caged animal and seemed always at the ready to lunge for anyone s throat, with a quiet sort of
anger that was hard to detect. She was a bit frightened of him to be sure yet she also was... curious.
Where did one find such a creature, thrown into the Abyss and pulled back a changed man? She never
asked of the men and women her husband found in the market when they arrived in their service, aside
from a few of the body slaves who she became close with. Their stories were often the same: prisoners
of war spared harsher masters in their homeland, women forced to repay debts of their male relatives,
or the rare girl who was born a slave. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Her tone was decisive and stern, though laced with concern as the boy peeled his face from the
ground. Short blonde locks were coated in sand and a string of blood oozed from his nose, likely from
having landed in a poor position on his face. He sniffed hard and stood up as quickly as his disoriented
head would allow and went toward the medicus whose room was just below the balcony. Livia
watched him go until he was out of sight, then turned with burning eyes upon Maximus. You are not
here to take out your frustrations upon the others. There is no honour in beating him when he has
already fallen, she stated with evident irritation at his cruelty. Perhaps she was worried this was why
Cassian purchased him. Your life continues because you have been spared the mines. You are given
food and shelter in exchange for laurels in the arena. Do not forget that. And do not raise your weapon
to any of the men in jest. One day you could be fighting with him at your back, to find your only ally
would see you dead just as readily as your opponent, Livia coldly reminded him. Her cheeks were a
bit flushed from anger though it could easily be dismissed as the heat of the morning sun, or the
honeyed wine she drank from in a polished

What Is Wine Etiquette Essay
Wine is not just a celebrated drink but it holds a seasoned place in the history of liquor. Like
everything in a human life has certain code of rules or etiquettes, wine also has one. I think one should
really know about wine etiquettes before feeling its flawless experience. Precisely, there are wine
fanatics, those principal aficionados of superior wine, and there are wine lovers, or those who just
value wine. The previous have a propensity to be sterner in their conduct and in how they serve and

inspection of the bottle and look at the label to ensure it is the wine and vintage you ordered. If it is

of these clues say that air may have reached and spoiled the wine. Thereafter, the server will pour a

Handguns in Households with Children Essay
Handguns in Households with Children
Guns in America are a problem as bad as the drug problem: 43% of households that have children
have handguns in them; 10 children die every day from handguns, approximately one every 2 ½ hours.
That is the same of a classroom of children every two days. Parents do not realize that children get the
physical capacity to reach and discharge a firearm long before the ability to understand the potential
consequences of these actions. Parents who insist on keeping guns in the home should be urged
strongly to store their firearms unloaded and locked in a secure place. Actions like these will reduce

Plainly speaking, if guns were not so readily available, the number of children suicides in America
would decrease significantly.
The number of American citizens concerned with children gun violence is rapidly increasing. Nearly a
million U.S. students took guns to school during 1998. It is important to note that many school
shootings are committed by children who have stolen their parents legally owned guns. Columbine is
just one example of what can happen. Over the two years ending June 30, 1999, violence in and
around schools happened in 25 states resulting in 105 deaths. Nearly two thirds of the victims were
primary and secondary schools students, another 11 percent were teachers or staff, and the remainders
were community members slain on school property. Firearms were used in 75 percent of these deaths.
For example, take the case of a nine year old girl who took a Glock semiautomatic pistol to school.
The girl, who told officials she found the gun in an unlocked drawer in her mother s bedroom, said she
wanted it for protection against gang

members who had threatened her at school a week ago. Therefore, rather than relying on teaching
children principles of a gun safety, parents should learn how to more constantly prevent firearm
injuries. Anticipatory guidance is vital to give parents the information that they need to make smart

The goal of the project was to characterize an unknown organic acid in order to make a proper
identification of the acid, while learning proper techniques for scientific measurement and analysis of
error.
In order to ensure the most accurate data, a purification was performed by the process of
recrystallization. To perform the recrystallization the powder was dissolved in a minimal amount of
hot ethanol/H2O solvent that allowed the unknown powder to crystallize properly when cooled. This
process allowed for the removal of soluble impurities when suction filtered. A sample of the unknown
acid was weighed at 8.24 g, and it was found that 164ml of a 40% ethanol, 60% H20 solvent dissolved

Phenolphthalein was used as an endpoint indicator to determine the molarity of the NaOH solution,
which was found to be approximately .0979 M. The data collected from the titration follows in the
table below.

Trial I II III
Mass KHP (g) .403 .402 .411
Final NaOH 21.02mL 41.04mL 30.01mL
Initial NaOH .89mL 21.02mL 9.50mL
Volume NaOH Total 20.13mL 20.02mL 20.60mL
Molarity NaOH .0980 M .0980 M .0977 M
The molarity of each trial was found using the formula below; following the formula is a sample
calculation:
Molarity of NaOH Solution = Mass KHP (g) / [(204.34 g/mole) x (Delivered NaOH (ml)]
.403g /[(204.24g/mole)x(0.02013L)] = .0980 moles/liter
To ensure the best possible data, the error of the collected data was determined. This error was found
to be: (9.80 9.77)/9.77 = .003 x 100% = .31% error.
The equivalent weight of the unknown was determined by titration with NaOH. By discovering the
amount of NaOH required to react with the unknown acid, it was possible to determine the equivalent
weight of 98.4 g/mole. Three samples of the pure unknown acid were weighed at .403g, .406g, and

Comparing Beowulf, Grendel s Mother, And The Dragon
First of all, the monsters. The epic poems usually are created heroes who must fight various monsters
so that they can achieve the ultimate honor and glory. The character Beowulf is no different from other
heroes. Beowulf must fight three monsters: Grendel, Grendel s mother, and the dragon. These
monsters represent those who do not make their social roles, some people who live apart from
civilization and which also have no value. Grendel is the first monster, and theoretically the most
important opponent that the Anglo Saxon hero has to deal with. Grendel inhabits heaths and marshes
where he is distanced from living near humans. He is described in the poem as a terrifying monster
and not human, however, some part of the poem Grendel shows emotions. ... Show more content on

Emilia In Shakespeare s Othello
Although partially responsible for contributing to the tragedy of Othello and death of Desdemona,
Emilia is still considered to be one of the play s most positive characters. In the Shakespeare play,
Othello, Emilia is seen as one of the strongest of the female characters. Emilia is the wife of Iago and
the attendant of Desdemona. She is a dynamic character who changes through the course of the play
and also makes the argument, in a discussion with Desdemona, for equal social rights of women, or at
least as much as one could as a woman could in the early 1600s. Emilia betrays Desdemona by
stealing the special handkerchief given to Desdemona by Othello, but in the final scene of the play,
Emilia redeems her wrong doing by helping to expose ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the play progresses the audience sees how the relationship between Desdemona and Emilia evolves
into a relationship of trust. Emilia becomes more and more loyal to Desdemona while at the same time
becomes less loyal towards her husband Iago. The relationship between Emilia and Desdemona
intensifies as the play continues. The two characters are foils for each other. Emilia is the wise,
motherlike figure who is a critic of men s actions towards women. She makes the argument that
women have the same desires and wants as men. In this famous monologue, the audience sees that
Emilia is observant and astute. When compared side by side to Desdemona, Emilia s qualities are
enhanced. Emilia foils Desdemona s naive, childish, innocent, character. However, even though
Desdemona is a contrast to Emilia s wisdom and astuteness, Desdemona s naiveté and warm
heartedness also has its benefits. Even though Emilia is a foil to Desdemona, Emilia s character
attributes do not take away from the warmness of heart and innocence seen in Desdemona. The two
characters qualities both contrast and complement each other and the audience is able to appreciate the
certain qualities in both of the women. Desdemona has an eerie sense of intuition as seen in her
dialogue with Emilia in act 4 scene 3 about

Alexander Graham Bell And Eliza Grace Symonds

Us History

Alexander Graham Bell
He was born to Alexander Melville Bell and Eliza Grace Symonds. His mother was almost deaf, and
his father taught elocution to the deaf, which I find very ironic. This ended up influencing Alexander s
later career choice as teacher of the deaf. At age 11 he entered the Royal High School at Edinburgh,
but he did not enjoy the compulsory curriculum, and he left school at age 15 without graduating.
Alexander invented the first ever telephone. He lived from 1847 to 1922, he was a scottish born
american scientist. He worked at a school for the deaf while trying to invent a machine that would
send sound by electricity. Bell was granted the first official patent for his telephone in March 1876,
though he would later face years of legal challenges to his claim that he was its sole inventor, resulting
in one of history s longest patent battles. When he got his machine to work, he offered to sell his
patent to Western Union for 100 thousand dollars. Western Union turned down his offer because the
telephone did not really hit it off at first. So Alexander decided to make his own telephone company.
The Bell Telephone Company, a common law joint stock company, was organized in Boston,
Massachusetts on July 9, 1877, by Alexander Graham Bell s father in law Gardiner Greene Hubbard,
who also helped organize a sister company the New England Telephone and Telegraph Company.
Once the telephone hit off and everyone

John Keats Homer, Fears, Nightingale, And Urn
The Power of Keats Poems
(An Analysis of Keats Poems called Homer, Fears, Nightingale, and Urn)
John Keats was a romantic poet in the early 1800s. He lived from 1975 to 1821, a rather short lived
life and died at the young age of just twenty five. Although Keats died at a young age, the years that
he lived he created a huge impact on society with his poems. Keats developed an interest in poetry and
reading at a young age, setting him up to become an avid poet. John Keats expressed one major
message in each of the poems called On First Looking Into Chapman s Homer, When I Have Fears
That I May Cease to Be, Ode to a Nightingale, and Ode on a Grecian Urn.
In the poem On First Looking Into Chapman s Homer, John Keats emphasizes the message of
exploration, amazement, and ambition. Keats, a typical romantic poet, is intrigued with nature. In the
first four lines of the poem, Keats is searching for something, making the reader ponder. Yet did I
never breathe its pure serene (line 7). Line seven expresses the beauty of the poem and reveals how it
isn t the content of the poem, rather the language. Keats expresses amazement in this poem by
implying the moment that he read Homer s work. He is truly moved by his work and is truly interested
in the language and imagery of Homer s work. It inspired John Keats to write this poem. Ambition
was a key characteristic of John Keats. He was always looking forward to new and better projects that
urged him to become a better poet.

Walmart, Dollar General, And Family Dollar
From my own experience, the three companies that could learn lessons from this case study are
Walmart, Dollar General, and Family Dollar. To me, these three companies could all use a lot of help
when it comes to product placement and meeting their customer needs (O Brien Marakas, 2011, p. 419
420). This brings me to the lessons to be learned from this case study. The use of the simulation
technology of the virtual store environments is a brilliant concept. It is fast becoming a common
practice among consumer product manufacturers and retailers (Breen, 2017). It is faster and more cost
efficient than the traditional in store product testing. It also allows a company to get a more accurate

If I owned those stores and I walked in them and took a look around, I would fire every district
manager I had for letting the employees get away with the mess those stores stay in. I would not fire
the store employees because I would have to shut all of the stores down. However, the district
managers should have been making them do their jobs. I have never in my life seen such a mess. The
store organization is awful, you do not have to worry about product placement because it is usually on
the floor or still in the boxes or who knows where. The executives of that company really could learn a
lot from the store simulators I believe. I personally do not know how some of their stores keep their
doors open. We have one in particular here in Lexington, that should have shut its doors years ago.

Essay on Exploring the Existence of Paranormal Activity
Whether we choose to believe in the paranormal or not, we all have to realize that there are many
strange things that happen to all of us that are unexplainable. The history of paranormal existence has
been around since the beginning of time. The paranormal is not what most people believe it is, ghosts .
There is a wide range in what is considered paranormal. In order to understand the paranormal you
must first understand the meaning of the word. The prefix Para means beyond and normal. This gets
you the result of beyond normal. Just because science cannot prove it, does not mean that it is
paranormal. In fact, as you read on you will discover that science does back up paranormal existence
quite a bit. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not to say that they are not signs of spirits, because an orb is a manifested sphere of energy.
Sometimes they are visible by the human eye but most of the time they are only viewable through
photographic lenses. Energy is plain and simple, energy everything you see and touch has energy in it
no matter what it is. Take the elements for example. Earth, wind, water, and fire. These elements have
mass amounts of energy that some people attempt to harness for their own good. Such as making a
Psy ball in the palm of their hand. Psy pronounced sigh is the act of making an orb in your hand. It s
not evil or fake. I have read many cases of this event. There are people that practice pyrokinesis and it
is not the Hollywood classic of people making huge balls of fire and throwing them at things burning
them to the ground. It is more or less drawing the energy from the fire and using it whether it be to
create a psy ball or to get in touch with yourself. You can find energy in music. Have you ever
witnessed somebody playing an instrument closing their eyes and enjoying it to the fullest? I know it
happens to me all the time. I feel at one with the guitar. Just feeling the vibrations from the wood go
from your fingertips up to your arm and throughout your body. Next time you are watching somebody
who takes great passion in their music, watch what they do and how they act. You might just

The Da Vinci Code By Dan Brown
Learn how to see. Realize that everything connects to everything else. (Balt, 2013). This is a quote by
Leonardo da Vinci and states one of his main ideas; knowledge will open your mind to new ideas and
helps you learn about the past. A book that represents this quote, is the Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown.
This book is the thrilling story of Robert Langdon and Sophie Neveu in their hunt to solve the dying
wish of Sophie s grandfather. Not only does it contain a fantastic storyline, it also is full of rich
history. John Paul Richter said history is like religion, it unites all learning and power and that is
exactly what happens in the Da Vinci Code. His life was filled with many things that were hidden to
the others, his paintings were filled with many things that are still a mystery to this day. The book the
Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown is a historically accurate portrayal of the mysterious life of Leonardo
Da Vinci and one of his most famous paintings, the Mona Lisa.
One of the many things that influenced Da Vinci in his art was coding. Leonardo Da Vinci s first
painting he coded in was The Annunciation under the apprentice of Andrea del Verrocchio. Towards
the end of the creation of the painting, he jumped in to finish the painting for Andrea and painted an
angel. The angel is invisible to the eye because he used a non lead paint that was different from the
one Andrea used (Petricevic, 2015). The angel can only be seen under a specific light and it disappears

Iago as Evil in William Shakespeare s Othello Essay
Iago as Evil in William Shakespeare s Othello
Othello is famously regarded as one of Shakespeare s greatest tragedies. It explores the downfall of a
great general Othello through a series of unlucky circumstances. Othello s character shows a man of
high status whose job, marriage and life is ruined because of his insecurities by a man named Iago.
Iago (Othello s ensign) is able to manipulate Othello, Othello s wife Desdemona and his own friend
Roderigo (a Venetian gentleman). He uses Desdemona s love of Othello and Roderigo s money with
his secret love for Desdemona, to manipulate them towards his own good. He is a psychotic driven to

Roderigo argues that he deserves to take Desdemona s hand in marriage. His secret love for her drives
him crazy inside at every sight he sees her and Othello together. During this Othello is described as an
old black ram, Even now, now, very now, an old black ram . Iago thinks that Othello is too old and that
he will not be around with his job for long. The play would have opened up with this conversation in
the dark. It goes with the low yet angry dark toned language that Iago uses, Rouse him, make after
him, poison his delight also In personal suit to make me his lieutenant; off capped to him . He is
irritated after not getting the position in the army. While this was all going on Othello and Desdemona
were secretly getting married. Roderigo and Iago hear of this news and go straight to Brabantio,
Desdemona s father, to wake him and tell him of his daughter s whereabouts. The swearing and
shouting by Iago and Roderigo towards Brabantio, would catch the attention of the audience. They
would be eager to understand what is going on. There were no special effects so listening carefully to
the characters was the only way you would understand what was happening. This made it a good idea
to open the play during the night. So you in the audience would get the feel of whispers, people
sneaking around etc. They did not have good costumes

Girolamo Savonarola s Influence On The Renaissance
Girolamo Savonarola was a controversial figure in the late 1400s. Savonarola, through divine visions,
would predict the coming of a great tyrant that sought to ruin Florence. King Charles VIII of France
would be that tyrant and Savonarola a hero for convincing the king to leave Florence undisturbed.
This connection with the divine and his deep religious beliefs would play a big role in renaissance
Florence. It is these religious beliefs that would influence his politics and how he fit within the role of
the Renaissance. Savonarola fits into the Renaissance context as a force that wishes to maintain
absolute devotion to god. He is someone who wants to keep away humanist thought and have
everyone submit to God in all aspects of life. While people like Pico della Mirandola and Cardano
were very religious men, their approach to thought put more emphasis on humankind than God. This
way of thought would soon become ever more dominate as time carried on. To start, looking at how he
mixed politics and religion may give a better understanding of what type of person he was.
Savonarola being the deeply religious man he was, it is of no surprise that these beliefs in god would
work their way into his political ideas. When he was brought on as an advisor for the government of
Florence, he was asked how Florence was best to be governed. Drawing on his divine beliefs, he
stated that the world is governed by one Being, Who is God, and that all natural things in which one

Charter Of Rights And Freedoms In Canada
In its earliest days, Canada did not have a written constitution. During the mid 1700s and 1800s,
French and British colonists, who were governed by the laws of their home countries, populated the
territory of modern day Canada. As the territory of Canada became more populated, the United
Kingdom assumed authority over all of Canada s inhabitants. However, as time went on it became
obvious that a system of autochthonous constitution was required to effectively govern the individual
needs of the colonies. The Constitution Act of 1867, reflected a few core values that the drafters held
for the creation of the Dominion of Canada including: (1) loyalty to the United Kingdom and (2)
respect for all language and religion. However, those values shifted ... Show more content on

For this assignment we are to write a 2,000 word, roughly, essay on one of three documents. The
Fenian Manifesto, Parnell s Speech or the Objects of Inghinidhe na hÉireann. I have as such chosen to

be focusing this essay on three specific areas, specifically the 1867 proclamation compared to the

the Manifesto and finally to whom in society the Manifesto was for and against.

A symptom often overlooked called hyperfocus is where one becomes absorbed in tasks that are
stimulating and rewarding. It s more of a coping mechanism used to tune out other chaos. It makes
one lose track of time and neglect what a person is supposed to be doing. Other symptoms along with
inattentiveness are poor organizational skills, very messy, tendency to procrastinate, trouble starting
and finishing projects, chronic lateness forgetting appointments and important deadlines, often loses
or misplaces items, and overestimates or underestimates the time it takes to complete a task. The
second subtype hyperactive includes being restless, feeling agitated, unable to sit still, always
fidgeting, easily bored, having racing thoughts, craves excitement and attention, often acts out for
attention, talking excessively, and doing a million different things at once. The second subtype in
conjunction with hyperactivity also contains impulsivity. These symptoms include trouble inhibiting

The Political Sins Of John Stewart By Robert Hariman
Cynicism as most of you know is the manipulation of the greater public to pursue one s interests.
Another definition of it is that it is the enlightenment of the majority of which in regards to the right
work done, income might be acquired. The notion of personal interest varies among different people
but is argued to be the core of cynicism. This paper is going to oppose accusations about cynicism on
John Stewart basing its arguments on; the critical forum in defence of John Stewart by Robert
Hariman and the critical conference on the political sins of John Stewart by Roderick P. Hart and E.
Johanna Hartelius.
Publicity can be paradoxical such that as much as it is nice to be recognizable to almost everybody,

The gaps are derived from the Constitution itself, on the freedom of speech. Everybody reserves a
right to make comments on matters of state provided they do not infringe on the rights of another. The
defence argues that the prosecution fails to see the humorous techniques of the Daily show (Hariman,
274). The above statement is true as the failure of one man to recognize the joke in a statement should
not be the reason to convict someone for committing political heresy. In the 21st century the year of
accusation of John Stewart, people exercise the freedom of speech. As such there is the emergence of
various channels through which people can air their opinions like social media forums, blogs upon
which similar messages and jokes are passed. Does it mean that we are going to jail every individual
that engages in constructive criticism on political matters on various communication forums?
Addressing the issue on the media of transfer of the said political heresy is of vital importance. This is
because it helps draw the line between a democratic society with freedom of speech and an anarchy
society where words are restricted to only those that please the powers that be. The defence agrees
with the above statement when it argues whether we will find contentment in the prosecution s idea of
public life (Hariman, 274). In my opinion, I feel the defendant expresses a more concrete argument in
defence of John Stewart laying facts wide open and appealing to the

The Era Of The Republic Essay
In the last decades of the Republic, the struggles between competing warlords with dynastic ambitions
spurred related changes in visual culture. One of the new institutions of this changed world was the
household of Gaius Octavianus, better known by his title of Augustus, and its supremacy. This resulted
in the promulgation of the notion that it was both an exemplum to be admired and imitated,
synonymous with the Roman state itself. In The Power of Images in the Age of Augustus, Paul Zanker
examines the role of images in the cultural program of Augustus, arguing that a new visual language
developed to express the ideals of the monarchy and to bolster the social changes desired by the new
government. For instance, in 35 BCE, public statues of living women, honorific portraits of Augustus
wife, Livia Drusilla, the first empress of Rome and his sister, Octavia, were initiated by Augustus and
dedicated by a senatus consultum. Sadly, these portraits are only known from Cassius Dio and their
original location of display in Rome is unknown. However, the very fact that the Senate had to
authorise such portraits by a special decree, suggests the unique nature of such public honours to
women.
Cassius Dio records that these women were correspondingly given both freedom from tutela and
sacrosanctity, an honour traditionally bequeathed to tribunes, which protected the women from
physical harm and verbal insult. Flory argues that while Octavia needed this sacrosanctity due to the

First, Rhône Poulenc would tender for 50.1% (43.2 million shares) of Rorer s common stock for $36.50 cash per share. Rhône Poulenc increased its debt/capital ratio to 45% by borrowing the funds to finance the tender offer. The debt/capital ratio was considerably high compared to its competitors ratio of 20 30%. The dark haired man fought like a caged animal and seemed always at the ready to lunge for anyone s throat, with a quiet sort of anger that was hard to detect. She was a bit frightened of him to be sure yet she also was... curious. Where did one find such a creature, thrown into the Abyss and pulled back a changed man? She never asked of the men and women her husband found in the market when they arrived in their service, aside from a few of the body slaves who she became close with. Livia watched him go until he was out of sight, then turned with burning eyes upon Maximus. You are not here to take out your frustrations upon the others. There is no honour in beating him when he has already fallen, she stated with evident irritation at his cruelty. Perhaps she was worried this was why Cassian purchased him. Your life continues because you have been spared the mines. You are given food and shelter in exchange for laurels in the arena. Do not forget that. And do not raise your weapon to any of the men in jest. One day you could be fighting with him at your back, to find your only ally would see you dead just as readily as your opponent, Livia coldly reminded him. It is important to note that many school shootings are committed by children who have stolen their parents legally owned guns. Columbine is just one example of what can happen. Over the two years ending June 30, 1999, violence in and around schools happened in 25 states resulting in 105 deaths. Nearly two thirds of the victims were primary and secondary schools students, another 11 percent were teachers or staff, and the remainders were community members slain on school property. Firearms were used in 75 percent of these deaths. For example, take the case of a nine year old girl who took a Glock semiautomatic pistol to school. The girl, who told officials she found the gun in an unlocked drawer in her mother s bedroom, said she wanted it for protection against gang Candamo3 members who had threatened her at school a week ago. Chemistry lab report Essay The goal of the project was to characterize an unknown organic acid in order to make a proper identification of the acid, while learning proper techniques for scientific measurement and analysis of error. In order to ensure the most accurate data, a purification was performed by the process of recrystallization. To perform the recrystallization the powder was dissolved in a minimal amount of hot ethanol/H2O solvent that allowed the unknown powder to crystallize properly when cooled. This process allowed for the removal of soluble impurities when suction filtered. His mother was almost deaf, and his father taught elocution to the deaf, which I find very ironic. This ended up influencing Alexander s later career choice as teacher of the deaf. At age 11 he entered the Royal High School at Edinburgh, but he did not enjoy the compulsory curriculum, and he left school at age 15 without graduating. Alexander invented the first ever telephone. He lived from 1847 to 1922, he was a scottish born american scientist. He worked at a school for the deaf while trying to invent a machine that would send sound by electricity. Bell was granted the first official patent for his telephone in March 1876, though he would later face years of legal challenges to his claim that he was its sole inventor, resulting in one of history s longest patent battles. When he got his machine to work, he offered to sell his patent to Western Union for 100 thousand dollars. Western Union turned down his offer because the telephone did not really hit it off at first. So Alexander decided to make his own telephone company. The Bell Telephone Company, a common law joint stock company, was organized in Boston, Massachusetts on July 9, 1877, by Alexander Graham Bell s father in law Gardiner Greene Hubbard, who also helped organize a sister company the New England Telephone and Telegraph Company. He lived from 1975 to 1821, a rather short lived life and died at the young age of just twenty five. Although Keats died at a young age, the years that he lived he created a huge impact on society with his poems. Keats developed an interest in poetry and reading at a young age, setting him up to become an avid poet. John Keats expressed one major message in each of the poems called On First Looking Into Chapman s Homer, When I Have Fears That I May Cease to Be, Ode to a Nightingale, and Ode on a Grecian Urn. In the poem On First Looking Into Chapman s Homer, John Keats emphasizes the message of exploration, amazement, and ambition. Keats, a typical romantic poet, is intrigued with nature. In the first four lines of the poem, Keats is searching for something, making the reader ponder. Yet did I never breathe its pure serene (line 7). Line seven expresses the beauty of the poem and reveals how it isn t the content of the poem, rather the language. Keats expresses amazement in this poem by implying the moment that he read Homer s work. He is truly moved by his work and is truly interested in the language and imagery of Homer s work. It inspired John Keats to write this poem. Ambition was a key characteristic of John Keats. He was always looking forward to new and better projects that urged him to become a better poet. • 26. Girolamo Savonarola s Influence On The Renaissance Girolamo Savonarola was a controversial figure in the late 1400s. Savonarola, through divine visions, would predict the coming of a great tyrant that sought to ruin Florence. King Charles VIII of France would be that tyrant and Savonarola a hero for convincing the king to leave Florence undisturbed. This connection with the divine and his deep religious beliefs would play a big role in renaissance Florence. It is these religious beliefs that would influence his politics and how he fit within the role of the Renaissance. Savonarola fits into the Renaissance context as a force that wishes to maintain absolute devotion to god. He is someone who wants to keep away humanist thought and have everyone submit to God in all aspects of life. While people like Pico della Mirandola and Cardano were very religious men, their approach to thought put more emphasis on humankind than God. This way of thought would soon become ever more dominate as time carried on. To start, looking at how he mixed politics and religion may give a better understanding of what type of person he was. Savonarola being the deeply religious man he was, it is of no surprise that these beliefs in god would work their way into his political ideas. When he was brought on as an advisor for the government of Florence, he was asked how Florence was best to be governed. Drawing on his divine beliefs, he stated that the world is governed by one Being, Who is God, and that all natural things in which one can see some form ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Cassius Dio records that these women were correspondingly given both freedom from tutela and sacrosanctity, an honour traditionally bequeathed to tribunes, which protected the women from physical harm and verbal insult.
