Electric Versus Gasoline Powered Vehicles
Electric Versus Gasoline Powered Vehicles
Every year we hear about electric cars more and more, and understandably so. With the rising cost of
gasoline, and environmental concerns among others, it is not surprising that people would want more
energy efficient vehicles. So now that automobile manufacturers have started producing these types of
vehicles, how do they compare to their gas powered counter parts?
To answer this question you must first understand how they work, there advantages and disadvantages
then you can see how the compare.
Gas Powered Vehicles
Gas powered vehicles have been the standard for over 60 years, they are powered by an eternal
combustion engine which use a mixture of air and fuel ignited by a spark to create energy to turn the
engine thus powering the vehicle. Technology, engine design, and materials used have changed
considerably since the first automobile rolled of the line making modern engines more efficient.
The Upside
Listed below are few of the upsides to a gas powered vehicle.
The Infrastructure Exists: Gas stations are everywhere, as well as stores carrying everything necessary
to keep your vehicle running and shops to repair or replace parts.
Fuel Tank Capacity: The amount of fuel a gas powered vehicle can hold enables them to travel great
distances on a single tank before needing to refuel.
Cheaper Sticker Price: Gas powered vehicles are typically cheaper to buy than an electric vehicle of
comparable size and style.

The Sheep Is A Suitable Model
The sheep is a suitable model because the rotator cuff tendons are similar in size to human which from
a transitional standpoint allows for various suturing techniques to improve repairs. USDA approved,
female Black Suffolk sheep (n=23) (Ovis aries; age, 10 to 12 mo; weight, 55 to 105 kg) were
determined to be healthy by physical examination by a veterinarian at the University of Michigan s
Unit for Laboratory Animal Medicine (ULAM). All sheep were housed in groups within approved
large animal facilities for the duration of the study and assigned to 1 of 2 experimental groups (ETG
RC repair or suture only (SO) repair). The left shoulder was designated as the experimental rotator

All-American Art In Early America
American art, and its countless mediums, evolved equally with the capitalist country. This is a visual

Specifi Servant-Leadership Theory Of Military Leadership
Because USAA was founded and is managed by high ranking officers in the military, the ingrained
military leadership philosophy, which is the rational investigation of the truths and principles of being,
knowledge or conduct, is the type of foundation which guides the organizational culture and
environment of the company (Colonel Maureen K. Leboeuf, US Army, n.d.). With that being noted,
the principles of the hiring practice at USAA designates that one in four applicants selected should at
least be a veteran. Generally speaking, who would be better to serve military individuals in the
company than an individual who truly understands the needs of the military family? According to the
Government Information Library and A Best Practices Report; The employees at USAA work in a
campus like environment situated on 286 acres of rolling land, which provides a sense of space and
tranquility. Employees are provided with parking, fitness and recreation facilities, and many other
employee benefits that enhance their cultural climate (1997). Because this set up is quite common for
a call center environment, the leadership styles chosen tends to be the most effective, efficient, and

Looking at the transactional leadership approach, which is management by exception and is common
in military operations, The transactional leadership style upholds this mission through leaders who
create dynamic relationships with subordinates (Clintron, J., n.d.). USAA combines the best of all
three as the foundation of its organizational culture. There are many departments within the
organization and through our research it is noted that even though innovation is highly cultivated,
positive leadership development is essential, and core values are deep rooted, shared leadership flows

Social Media Public Sphere
Through the emergence of the Internet, the last 20 years have seen a transformation in the way the
society communicates with one another. There is no doubt that the Internet has changed the way the
world interacts with one another on a democratic scale. Can it be said that with the emergence of the
Internet, a new public sphere has been created? If so, is this new public sphere capable of embodying
the theory that Habermas constructed? Petros Iosifidis article The Public Sphere, Social Networks and
Public Service Media (2011) examines reasons that hinder social networks from becoming a seamless
public sphere, and why Public Service Broadcasting should change over to Public Service Media.
Social Networks
Summary
Iosifidis starts the article by discussing in detail his first topic social networks as a new public sphere.
His main argument is that while social media spaces create new public spheres of both democratizing
and empowering functions (2011), the Internet is also capable of both informing individuals and
manipulating them. He argues that the public sphere is still a strong analytical instrument in today s
societies, as it helps us help us make sense of the relationship between the media and democracy
(civic engagement) (2011). Iosifidis brings up several interesting and debatable reasons why social
media is mostly overstated and represents hopefulness in the ability to be a public sphere. His six
reasons are: open participation of social media may turn

Facts About Being Divergent
The greatest power that anyone can have in this fantasy land is being divergent. Being divergent
makes Tris Prior one lucky girl. She has the power to be stronger and more capable of fighting and
protecting herself than everyone else that is not divergent. This universe includes five factions that
people are put into based on their aptitude tests with people that are divergent being outliers. If
someone is classified under two or more factions then they are divergent. After finding out that she is
divergent, Tris continues to think of her family and starts to believe that she was born in the wrong
faction. A faction is a group of people that are classified as having the same type of traits. The first
faction is Dauntless which are the brave citizens. The second ... Show more content on

Few people are ever classed as divergent and it is considered to be dangerous to tell anyone about
being divergent. Divergent is seen as dangerous because if the wrong people hear about it then they
might attempt to take them out. Being divergent makes them a target because they are seen as stronger
than everyone else. They do not fit into one group, they fit into multiple groups. Being divergent
makes the person a target of anyone that finds them a threat, especially people that are seeking power.
The target forces most divergent people to be quiet about the fact that they re divergent and they
usually just claim the faction that they associate themselves with. In doing so, they are usually able to
not send any red flags and make people think that they re dangerous. Anyone that tries to control the
masses will have the biggest problem being the people that are divergent. She has more skills and
talent than any non divergent citizen has. Using her powers for good, she is able to take down Jeanine
who was attempting to control everyone in dauntless and have them be her personal army. She freed

Examples Of Reader Response Theory
Reader Response Theory Reader response theory identifies the reader as an affective agent who
imparts real exist ence and life to the work, completing its meaning through interpretation. Reader
response criti cism argues that literature should be viewed as art in which each reader creates his or
her own most likely unique, text related performance. I am using Wolfgang Iser and Stanley Fish s
takes on Reader Response for my study. Iser s Theory of Reception and Transactional Reader
Response Theory According to Iser, any literary text which is a product of the Writer s intentional acts
part ly controls the response of a reader; however, this includes an abundance of gaps. In order to
comprehend more clearly, the reader must take action in active participation in attempting to cre
atively fill these gaps with the given information of the test put before him; Thereby allowing the
Reader and the text to undergo a transactional process. Iser speaks of the Actual reader in distinction
to the Implied reader who is formed within a text and expected to react and respond in specific ways
to the response inducing structure of the text. The actual reader, however, is an individual with its own
personal experiences accumu lated as baggage wherein responses actually are continuously and
inevitably changed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What lies behind Fish s thinking is a strong view of the social construction of reality; as he firmly
believes that knowledge is not objective but always socially conditioned. All that one thinks and
knows is an interpretation that is only made possible by the social context in which one lives. For Fish
the very thought one thinks are made possible by presuppositions of the community in which one lives
and furthermore the socially conditioned individual, which all individuals are, cannot think beyond the
limits made possible by the culture. This culture is referred to by Fish as an interpre tive

Summary Of On Being A Cripple By Nancy Mairs
Crippled Nancy Mairs, who had multiple sclerosis, a chronic disease, wrote an essay called On Being
A Cripple. The audiences that she wanted to express to were those that were hurt and needed to be
shown that it does not matter about the outside but matters within. She wanted to show how she fully
accepted the illness that she had. She had to deal with the difficulties that followed the illness. She
showed how grateful she was for her life even though she faced the difficulties she had to deal with
her disease. She wanted to show people, that even though that she was crippled, she still did the things
she had to do. Mairs wanted to express how she felt through her repetition of crippled, overemphasis
of her thoughts, and her tone of confidence ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mairs gratitude toward everyone enabled her to achieve the life she wanted by her doing the actions
she wanted to do. Even though she had to live with the disease, she showed how she could push
through it and make the best out of her life. She had educated the society about MS, received the
education she wanted, and tried to stay active and positive in society. Mairs had tried to keep the
relationship with her family during the times of struggle. The gratitude made her feel like she had
achieved what she wanted to do in her life. The MS disease had caused her a lot of physical problems.
She had to walk with a brace and cane, had to use an electric wheelchair, and had spots on her eyes
that made it hard to see. Mairs had stated, Most twenty two and nineteen year olds, like George and
me, can vow in clear conscience... to keep one another in sickness and in health so long as they both
shall live. Mairs tried to make a point that even though things are going wrong, and she was crippled,
that they would be able to put each other first as long as they had lived. They needed to show what it
meant for them to be

Third Grade ELA Classroom Analysis
Third grade composition is very subjective to instruction. Teaching students the basic structure of
literature is a key component to helping them to communicate in a meaningful way. One of the basic
concepts to literature is identifying the importance of the main idea and supporting details in writing.
There are a variety of ways to explore the concept of the main idea and supporting details of literary
works. Mrs. Peterson tackled this exact concept with her third grade ELA class using a variety of
instructional strategies and learning activities.
Mrs. Peterson began her lesson by using a goal setting strategy. This strategy was utilized by
beginning with the end result in mind. Mrs. Peterson framed the lesson by stating what the learning
objectives and goals were for her students before the lesson even took place. She also posted the
learning objectives on the board for students to view during the lesson. This tactic is helpful in case
students get off track, they can easily be reminded what the desired results are for the end of the
lesson.
Once lesson objectives were clearly communicated, Mrs. Peterson integrated academic vocabulary
using notes from the previous lesson. Journaling is a strategy that is used on a daily basis in Mrs. ...

collected their data, they were asked to break into cooperative learning groups to conference about
their findings. Mrs. Peterson witnessed a great deal of sharing and debating which a wonderful

There are different themes which were identified using qualitative techniques and theoretical models
were used to decipher the data acquired. 2.1. Cost Benefits: The main criterion for selecting possible
alternatives for travel was the reduction and efficiency in cost (Decorla souza et al, 1997). It was a
common theme which was addressed by all jobholders. The important aspect of this theme is to
identify the platform for effective optimization of alternatives to travel. 2.2. Accessibility: It is
important for all personnel to perform to their maximum level and getting access to technology
emerged to be an important aspect on possibilities for travel alternatives (Burrus , 2009). In cases
where people are working from home, they may find it hard to effectively transform the facilities and
atmosphere persisting in their workplace (Burrus , 2009). 2.3. Evolution Of Technology: It is
remarkable to think how much alternatives have been provided due to constant enhancements in
technology (Frary, M 2004). Video conferencing, audio conferencing, teleconferencing etc have made
it easier for people to work efficiently without having to go through the burden of a stressful business

Angostura Value Chain Analysis
THE INTERNAL ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS OF ANGOSTURA LIMITED
VALUE CHAIN ANALYSIS
Value chain was first crafted by Michael Porter in his book Competitive Advantage Creating and
Sustaining Superior Performance (1985), to illustrate how customer value accumulates along a chain
of activities that lead to an end product or service.
The value chain analysis describes the activities an organisation performs and links them to the
organization competitive position. Porter further states, value chain evaluates which value each
particular activity adds to the organisation products or services.
John E Gamble, Crafting and Executing Strategy 2012 states, the various activities a company

According to Robert Wong, Chief Executive Officer of Angostura in his 2012 Performance report,
Angostura will continue to invest in research and development as well as marketing and distribution
by forging partnerships with established distributors in foreign markets, to ensure that the company
remains at the forefront of innovation at both the input and output stages of our business, and to ensure
that it can take full advantage of new business opportunities as early as practicable.
Angostura Holdings Limited is one of the most advanced distilleries in the Eastern Caribbean. In order
to continue on the way forward, Angostura has to continuously improve its technology to become
more efficient. According to Wong, the company spent a minimum of $10 million to upgrade its five

A New Police Chief Mentoring Project
The International Association of Chiefs of Police Research Center Board of executives, Smaller Law
Enforcement Agencies Technical Assistance Program developed a New Police Chief Mentoring
Project (IACP, 2013). Supported by the Bureau of Justice Assistance, U.S. Department of Justice, the
focus is to make available official support to newer law enforcement leaders in the first three years of
appointment, who are serving in smaller populations less than 50,000 citizens. As cities expand
geographically and demographically, police departments face additional challenges determining
efficient and effective ways to make use of officers and resources (Roberts, 2000). Administrative
planning and decision making is necessary for efficient and effective operations management in any
setting (Roberts, 2000). Police administrative planning becomes the first step in successful
management of the department. Planning provides administrative officials with better information, an
analysis of the problem at hand, clarity of goals, objectives, and procedures (Swanson, Territo, Taylor,
2012). Planning results in more active distribution of resources, program development and
performance, increased inter and intradepartmental collaboration and organization. Planning provides
the opportunity for greater public support and a clear sense of direction for the police department with
increased commitment of personnel. There are many approaches to planning. However, the most

Starbucks is an American company who try to expend its business to other country around the world.
However, each country owned and has an identity, a history, and culture. This requires to Starbucks to
analyze the current market and adapt his offers according to the needs and mores (usages).
There are several barriers facing Starbucks to the teaching people to change their consumption habits
from tea and instant coffee. First of all, the major problem is that a cultural problem. In fact tea is still
the number one beverage in China because it is a part of China s national heritage. China has 1.3

Besides, even if in the text it is written, As if Chinese market were not enough, Starbucks is finalizing
a deal to enter India. I think that if Starbucks succeed with Chinese market they could also enter the
Indian market, with the same research realize for China.

There is response to this question in the text, but I can explain my thought. When we buy a coffee at
Starbucks we don t buy only a coffee but also a corporate images, a service, a way of thinking and
living. Starbucks create its own environment, brand value. It represents the premium coffee. There is
not only coffee, even if it is the Starbucks s specialty. Also, there is breakfast, drink, gift card, candy,
lunch, and all spin off products (derivative product or tie in merchandise). The atmospheres of the
place are a huge factor in the Starbucks experience. They want us to be the first and the most luxurious
coffee.
To respond to Americans and Europeans increasing concern for the environment, Starbucks adopted a
green marketing. They contribute to protect the environment by using recycled cup and other things. It
s a way to play with the affective (emotional) component of the consumer.
This way of thinking is true in western countries, I do not know about this fact in Middle Eastern and
eastern countries.
In order to complete my answer, I also search on Internet the other values of Starbucks (Internal
values).

Strange Meeting And Journey s End
Strange Meeting and Journey s End both share similar aspects. Both the texts are set in the First World
War and depict in depth what it would be like to be a soldier at the time as well as displaying the
endless strife that the soldiers had to endure for four long years. In Journeys End, Sheriff portrays
many different emotions through the central character Captain Stanhope and similarly in Strange
Meeting, Susan Hill does the same with John Hilliard . In this essay I will compare and contrast the
way that both these central characters are presented in the texts.
In Sheriff s Journey s End, Stanhope is presented as respected from act one. From the start we get the

On Hilliard s return to the company, Garrett brightens up for the first time in a while. It was if he had
been waiting there for hours of days suggests to us that Garret was eagerly awaiting the officer s
return. When Hilliard states that he thought they would let him back weeks ago, Garret replies No.
You needed the rest . This shows us that Garrett is concerned for Hilliard s welfare. In the war at this
time it wasn t normal for the C.O to really care about lower ranks, however, Garrets concern for
Hilliard suggests that Hilliard is respected by others in the novel. As well as this, further into the act
we see Garret frequently confide in Hilliard. The fact that he acts as almost a father figure to one of
the most respected men in the army shows us how well thought of Hilliard really was.
Throughout Journeys End we see Stanhope s fantastic qualities as a company commander and leader.
He sees things that others would not. We see an example of this when Hibbert attempts to get leave
due to illness , Stanhope sees straight through his act and describes him as another little worm trying
to wriggle home . Stanhope a true war veteran believes it s wrong and cowardice to fake illness in an
attempt to get out of fighting It s a slimy thing to go home if you re not really ill isn t it . This shows
us how good of a leader Stanhope really is as nobody else managed to see through Hibbert s pretence
but himself. This idea of Stanhope being a great

Plunging The Joy Luck Club by Amt Tan Essay
The Joy Luck Club (1985) was written by Amy Tan (1952). The Joy Luck Club is the story of a
Chinese mother who leaves everything behind, a mother who leaves her family in China in order to
get her children (in this case our protagonist June) a better life. Or as Amy Tan says: The Joy Luck
Club, about a woman whose mother has just died and who regrets that she never knew who she truly
was. The stories poured out. They were what I felt and had to say before it was too late. I had found
my reason to write. (http://www.theguardian.com/books/2013/nov/19/amy tan joy luck club guardian

The story of the swan (we can read it on Feathers from a Thousand LI Away) is very meaningful. The
American Dream changes between the generations. For the mothers, it is creating a future full of
privilege and success. For the daughters, it is the freedom to take their opportunities and do with them
as little or as much as they want. The daughters American ness is reflected most strongly in their
relationships with men. Ted, Harold, and especially Rich, represent the American part of their wives,
which for the mothers seems frighteningly disconnected from Chinese thinking. Suyuan wants Jing
Mei to be the perfect American girl like Shirley Temple, but resents how little Jing Mei understands
about Chinese culture. As Lindo Jong explains, these are the perils of being two faced. Fitting in one
place means not fitting in somewhere else, and the challenge for Chinese American women is to find a
balance that honours both cultures. Another very important subject is that which talks about love and
marriages. On the one side we have the mothers who thought that love and marriage are not always
holding hands. That is, a wife sometimes has to do things although she doesn t want to. We come back
to role of the submissive woman. On the other hand we have the daughters, who believe that they have
the right to find true love and to get married and if they marry, they have the right to be themselves
and not what their husbands or the

Six pack of beer in a cardboard container will be processed on scene. The cardboard will be processed
via the chemical method of ninhydrin just as the previous evidence. The six bottles will individually
be processed with a white powder or cyanoacrylate fuming method and placed into separate brown
evidence bags or boxes securely without movement. I personally would utilize the cyanoacrylate
fuming method (superglue fuming) for better results. Initially, you would have to make or have a
fuming chamber. The chamber could be made with a box, all it needs to be airtight. One the box is
built; you will need a small heater, cyanoacrylate glue, small metal tray, and small tray of water. When
the items are available, you place the warming tray in the box with the small metal tray on top of the
warming tray. The small container of water will be directly next to the warming tray. When this is set
up place the bottle in the box on the opposite side of the warming tray, then put the superglue into the
metal tray, turn on the warming plate and seal the box. Wait 15minutes and open the box and remove

Analysis Of The Plastic Pink Flamingos
In Jennifer Price s The Plastic Pink Flamingos: A Natural History, she gives a brief history about the
pink flamingo and its iconic meaning in America s pop culture. In addition to the meaning behind the
pink flamingo, she connects her historical context to reveal her thoughts on American culture. In the
text, Price utilizes historical allusions and extravagant diction and asks us to experience her frustration
with today s American society and asks us to consider her criticism towards America s romanticization
of materialistic things.
Throughout the passage, Price conveys her tone as ironic and sarcastic. She has pointed out her irony
when she said how it was a little ironic since Americans had hunted flamingos to extinction in Florida
in the late 1800s... To Americans, flamingos are considered to be a symbol of wealth and prosperity
since they were hunted for their plumes and meat. This shows that Americans are hypocritical for
symbolizing the flamingo in a positive light, while at the same time, they are becoming nearly extinct
due to Americans hunting them. Even in the title, it is ironic because of its contrasting words of plastic
and natural. In connection with tone, Price also uses extravagant diction to mock the prominence of
the flamingo, by using words such as pizzazz, striking, and boldness. By doing this, it reflects ... Show

A Formal Testing Strategy Is Crucial For Achieving Success...
A formal testing strategy is crucial for achieving success with mobile app testing. The information
above will definitely guide you in understanding the key focus points of this strategy, but here s a
closer look at the steps you should take. Narrow down the devices the app will use Mobile devices
present the most obvious challenge to mobile testing. There are countless devices out there consumers
could use to access your app and ensuring your app works on all of them can be difficult. Even though
your app might run on a single platform (such as iOS or Android), the number of devices will still be
high for guaranteeing specific device testing. This is especially the case with Android operating
systems. Remember that there are different versions of an operating system and you should decide
which operating system versions the app is supposed to work on. In order to handle the device
challenge, you can consider using one of the three strategies: Only test using real devices Only test
using emulated devices Using a combination of the above As we ve mentioned before, you want the
emphasis to be on real devices and manual testing. It would be a good idea to focus first on some of
the main devices in your category. For example, find out the most sold and used mobile devices that
use Android, check which operating system version is currently popular and begin testing. For the
devices, which are not as popular, you can use emulated devices as the main testing method.

The Proclamation Of 1763 After The French And Indian War
Events The Proclamation of 1763 is Britain s way of keeping colonists off the Indians lands. It was
declared after the French and Indian war, on October 7 1763 by King George the third. It s still a
fundamental Native American law even today across America and Canada. French and Indian war
Also known as the Seven Years War started 1757 and ended 1763. The war was French and Native
Americans combined forces against the British, the war lasted seven years. Later in the war the British
turned the tables on the French at Fort Frontenac. The war ended when the treaty of Paris was signed,
as was the revolutionary war. The sugar act also known as the revenue act was proclaimed in 1764 by
parliament. After the first act was to expire this act was a tax on molasses also. It taxed people six
pence per gallon of the imported substance. The goal of the act was to raise revenue to help pay for
military costs. The Stamp Act was proclaimed in 1765, and it taxed every piece of printed paper. It
taxed such goods as dice, playing cards, legal documents, newspaper and almanacs. The goal of the
act was to raise money for the Seven Years War. The Townshend act was proclaimed in 1767. The
colonists viewed it as an abuse of power after the last acts. The act was eventually repealed but left the
tax on tea. Some of the imported items that it taxed were: glass, lead, paints, paper and tea. The
Quartering Act was proclaimed in 1765. The act allowed the British soldiers to live in colonist s
houses. It also allowed soldiers to eat and drink colonists food. The goal of the act was to keep the
uprising of rebels at a low by catching them when the troops moved in, or by overhearing
conversations. The Boston Massacre, known as the Incident on King Street by the British happened on
March 5 1770. A squad of British soldiers were being attacked by a mob. One of the soldiers fired,
which caused others to fire. Over all five died all colonists. The event greatly boosted the revolution.
The Boston Tea Party happened on December 16, 1773. The sons of liberty boarded 3 ships and
dumped tea into the Boston harbor. They did this because of the British oppression. The British said
they would have to pay all the tea off or the harbor will be closed.

The Attributes of a Registered Nurse
Question 1: What attributes are important for a registered nurse to have, and why are they important?
According to Mason, Isaacs and Colby (2011, p. 11), provision of care in the field of nursing requires
comprehensive nursing expertise, critical thinking, sound clinical judgement and a holistic overview
of health. Registered nurses need to possess a combination of key attributes when providing care,
because these attributes play a significant role in enhancing positive outcomes, not only for the
patients in their care but also the practitioner and the organisation. Nurses require sound time
management skills and an effective communication approach in order to improve the provision of
healthcare. Nurses often perform a leadership role in hands on patient care, which involves providing
patient care in different contexts to improve health outcomes. They require attributes that can lead to
ongoing research and learning, and the implementation of healthcare policy. Relevant attributes
include problem solving skills, the ability to critically analyse situations, the ability to absorb and
share knowledge, effective interpersonal skills, self confidence, leadership skills, and the ability to
cooperate in a team environment. Nurses require effective interpersonal skills to enable them to
manage conflict, which can be an inevitable component of busy workplaces with high service

Nhl Profit Maximization Case Study
Do NHL teams profit maximize? Explain how the authors come to this conclusion.
Overview:
Before we dive into the details on whether the NHL team or any sports team for that matter maximize
profit, it would be worthwhile to answer 2 basic questions as put forth by the author:
 Would a sports fan not go to a game which he is die hard fan of because he/she thinks the team
profit maximizes?
 Would a sports team forego additional revenue?
As with any commodity, price of an arena seat is set by supply and demand. This is why it always
rings false when NHL execs try to link ticket prices to player salaries.
Any sports game ticket demand in North America is influenced by a number of factors:
 Changes in per capita consumer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The factors affecting demand for ticket is outlined in Section above.
(iii) A single price depicts a team s choice alternative though this does not hold in real circumstance
where the pricing varies based on the seat allocation.
The author has begun his analysis with a (Inverse) Demand function.
What is an Inverse Demand Function?
In economics, an inverse demand function , P = f−1(Q),is a function that maps the quantity of output
demanded to the market price (dependent variable) for that output. Quantity demanded, Q, is a
function of price; the inverse demand function treats price as a function of quantity demanded, and is
also called the price function.
Contrary to what we think, an inverse demand function is NOT the reciprocal of the demand function
the word inverse refers to the mathematical concept of an inverse function.
In mathematical terms, if the demand function is f(P),in which P is price, so the value of the function
is the quantity demanded (Q), then the inverse demand function is f 1(Q), whose value is the highest
price that could be charged and still generate the quantity demanded Q. This is to say that the inverse
demand function is the demand function with the axes switched. This is useful because economists
typically place price (P) on the vertical axis and quantity (Q) on the horizontal axis.
The inverse demand function is the same as the average revenue function, since

Essay On Optical Denoising
In Ophthalmology, Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a non invasive imaging modality. It
provides a cross sectional view (tomography) of the retina tissue structures and is used widely to
identify and monitor various eye diseases [1]. However, OCT images are inevitably affected by noise
due to the interferometry nature of OCT imaging. Also, to avoid motion artifacts due to the fixation
eye movements, the OCT clinical images are often captured at lower than nominal sampling rates [1],
[2]. Therefore, effective denoising and interpolation algorithms are necessary for automated or even
manual OCT image analysis.
Interpolation and denoising are two of the most well known problems in image processing, and
various methods based on various ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These shortcomings can be mitigated using sparse models because they can be used with smaller
datasets and have intrinsic denoising and interpolation capability [21] [24].
In recent years, several researchers have utilized modern sparse representation and closely related
compressed sensing methods to devise various OCT image denoising and interpolation algorithms.
Compressed sensing methods have been presented with promising results to reconstruct both Fourier
[25] [27] and spatial domain SDOCT data [28] [30]. Although the former has been demonstrated
promising results, it needs imaging hardware modifications. Thus, we are interested in spatial domain
SDOCT reconstruction methods which are more applicable to end users of current clinical imaging
systems. In this regime, denoising and interpolating regularly sub sampled spatial domain SDOCT
images have been also shown as a promising approach [2], [12], [13].
Inspired by the natural image super resolution literature [21], [31] [34], Fang et al. [12], [13] have
tried to denoise and interpolate SDOCT images by proposing a fast coupled dictionary learning
approach. They clustered image patches space to learn a couple of LR HR dictionaries for each
subspace. Although the idea of adaptive dictionary selection has shown to be very effective for various
image restoration problems [22], [23],

Technology, engine design, and materials used have changed considerably since the first automobile rolled of the line making modern engines more efficient. The Upside Listed below are few of the upsides to a gas powered vehicle. The Infrastructure Exists: Gas stations are everywhere, as well as stores carrying everything necessary to keep your vehicle running and shops to repair or replace parts. Specifi Servant-Leadership Theory Of Military Leadership Because USAA was founded and is managed by high ranking officers in the military, the ingrained military leadership philosophy, which is the rational investigation of the truths and principles of being, knowledge or conduct, is the type of foundation which guides the organizational culture and environment of the company (Colonel Maureen K. Leboeuf, US Army, n.d.). With that being noted, the principles of the hiring practice at USAA designates that one in four applicants selected should at least be a veteran. • 6. Social Media Public Sphere Through the emergence of the Internet, the last 20 years have seen a transformation in the way the society communicates with one another. There is no doubt that the Internet has changed the way the world interacts with one another on a democratic scale. Can it be said that with the emergence of the Internet, a new public sphere has been created? If so, is this new public sphere capable of embodying the theory that Habermas constructed? Petros Iosifidis article The Public Sphere, Social Networks and Public Service Media (2011) examines reasons that hinder social networks from becoming a seamless public sphere, and why Public Service Broadcasting should change over to Public Service Media. Social Networks Summary Iosifidis starts the article by discussing in detail his first topic social networks as a new public sphere. His main argument is that while social media spaces create new public spheres of both democratizing and empowering functions (2011), the Internet is also capable of both informing individuals and manipulating them. He argues that the public sphere is still a strong analytical instrument in today s societies, as it helps us help us make sense of the relationship between the media and democracy (civic engagement) (2011). Iosifidis brings up several interesting and debatable reasons why social media is mostly overstated and represents hopefulness in the ability to be a public sphere. His six reasons are: open participation of social media may turn ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Examples Of Reader Response Theory Reader Response Theory Reader response theory identifies the reader as an affective agent who imparts real exist ence and life to the work, completing its meaning through interpretation. Reader response criti cism argues that literature should be viewed as art in which each reader creates his or her own most likely unique, text related performance. I am using Wolfgang Iser and Stanley Fish s takes on Reader Response for my study. Iser s Theory of Reception and Transactional Reader Response Theory According to Iser, any literary text which is a product of the Writer s intentional acts part ly controls the response of a reader; however, this includes an abundance of gaps. In order to comprehend more clearly, the reader must take action in active participation in attempting to cre atively fill these gaps with the given information of the test put before him; Thereby allowing the Reader and the text to undergo a transactional process. Iser speaks of the Actual reader in distinction to the Implied reader who is formed within a text and expected to react and respond in specific ways to the response inducing structure of the text. The actual reader, however, is an individual with its own personal experiences accumu lated as baggage wherein responses actually are continuously and inevitably changed ... Teaching students the basic structure of literature is a key component to helping them to communicate in a meaningful way. One of the basic concepts to literature is identifying the importance of the main idea and supporting details in writing. There are a variety of ways to explore the concept of the main idea and supporting details of literary works. Mrs. Peterson tackled this exact concept with her third grade ELA class using a variety of instructional strategies and learning activities. Mrs. Peterson began her lesson by using a goal setting strategy. This strategy was utilized by beginning with the end result in mind. Mrs. Peterson framed the lesson by stating what the learning objectives and goals were for her students before the lesson even took place. She also posted the learning objectives on the board for students to view during the lesson. This tactic is helpful in case students get off track, they can easily be reminded what the desired results are for the end of the lesson. As cities expand geographically and demographically, police departments face additional challenges determining efficient and effective ways to make use of officers and resources (Roberts, 2000). Administrative planning and decision making is necessary for efficient and effective operations management in any setting (Roberts, 2000). Police administrative planning becomes the first step in successful management of the department. Planning provides administrative officials with better information, an analysis of the problem at hand, clarity of goals, objectives, and procedures (Swanson, Territo, Taylor, 2012). Planning results in more active distribution of resources, program development and performance, increased inter and intradepartmental collaboration and organization. Both the texts are set in the First World War and depict in depth what it would be like to be a soldier at the time as well as displaying the endless strife that the soldiers had to endure for four long years. In Journeys End, Sheriff portrays many different emotions through the central character Captain Stanhope and similarly in Strange Meeting, Susan Hill does the same with John Hilliard . In the war at this time it wasn t normal for the C.O to really care about lower ranks, however, Garrets concern for Hilliard suggests that Hilliard is respected by others in the novel. As well as this, further into the act we see Garret frequently confide in Hilliard. The fact that he acts as almost a father figure to one of the most respected men in the army shows us how well thought of Hilliard really was. Throughout Journeys End we see Stanhope s fantastic qualities as a company commander and leader. He sees things that others would not. We see an example of this when Hibbert attempts to get leave due to illness , Stanhope sees straight through his act and describes him as another little worm trying to wriggle home . Stanhope a true war veteran believes it s wrong and cowardice to fake illness in an attempt to get out of fighting It s a slimy thing to go home if you re not really ill isn t it . The Joy Luck Club is the story of a Chinese mother who leaves everything behind, a mother who leaves her family in China in order to get her children (in this case our protagonist June) a better life. Or as Amy Tan says: The Joy Luck Club, about a woman whose mother has just died and who regrets that she never knew who she truly was. The stories poured out. For the mothers, it is creating a future full of privilege and success. For the daughters, it is the freedom to take their opportunities and do with them as little or as much as they want. The daughters American ness is reflected most strongly in their relationships with men. Ted, Harold, and especially Rich, represent the American part of their wives, which for the mothers seems frighteningly disconnected from Chinese thinking. Suyuan wants Jing Mei to be the perfect American girl like Shirley Temple, but resents how little Jing Mei understands about Chinese culture. As Lindo Jong explains, these are the perils of being two faced. Fitting in one place means not fitting in somewhere else, and the challenge for Chinese American women is to find a balance that honours both cultures. Another very important subject is that which talks about love and marriages. On the one side we have the mothers who thought that love and marriage are not always holding hands. That is, a wife sometimes has to do things although she doesn t want to. We come back to role of the submissive woman. On the other hand we have the daughters, who believe that they have the right to find true love and to get married and if they marry, they have the right to be themselves and not what their husbands or the ... I personally would utilize the cyanoacrylate fuming method (superglue fuming) for better results. Initially, you would have to make or have a fuming chamber. The chamber could be made with a box, all it needs to be airtight. One the box is built; you will need a small heater, cyanoacrylate glue, small metal tray, and small tray of water. When the items are available, you place the warming tray in the box with the small metal tray on top of the warming tray. The small container of water will be directly next to the warming tray. When this is set up place the bottle in the box on the opposite side of the warming tray, then put the superglue into the metal tray, turn on the warming plate and seal the box. Wait 15minutes and open the box and remove the beer bottle to photograph the prints. Always make sure that you are in a well ventilated area because the fumes are toxic and could harm a person. Overview: Before we dive into the details on whether the NHL team or any sports team for that matter maximize profit, it would be worthwhile to answer 2 basic questions as put forth by the author:  Would a sports fan not go to a game which he is die hard fan of because he/she thinks the team profit maximizes?  Would a sports team forego additional revenue? As with any commodity, price of an arena seat is set by supply and demand. This is why it always rings false when NHL execs try to link ticket prices to player salaries. Any sports game ticket demand in North America is influenced by a number of factors:  Changes in per capita consumer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The factors affecting demand for ticket is outlined in Section above. (iii) A single price depicts a team s choice alternative though this does not hold in real circumstance where the pricing varies based on the seat allocation. The author has begun his analysis with a (Inverse) Demand function. What is an Inverse Demand Function? In economics, an inverse demand function , P = f−1(Q),is a function that maps the quantity of output demanded to the market price (dependent variable) for that output. Quantity demanded, Q, is a function of price; the inverse demand function treats price as a function of quantity demanded, and is also called the price function. Contrary to what we think, an inverse demand function is NOT the reciprocal of the demand function the word inverse refers to the mathematical concept of an inverse function. In mathematical terms, if the demand function is f(P),in which P is price, so the value of the function is the quantity demanded (Q), then the inverse demand function is f 1(Q), whose value is the highest price that could be charged and still generate the quantity demanded Q. This is to say that the inverse demand function is the demand function with the axes switched. This is useful because economists typically place price (P) on the vertical axis and quantity (Q) on the horizontal axis. The inverse demand function is the same as the average revenue function, since ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 35. Essay On Optical Denoising In Ophthalmology, Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a non invasive imaging modality. It provides a cross sectional view (tomography) of the retina tissue structures and is used widely to identify and monitor various eye diseases [1]. However, OCT images are inevitably affected by noise due to the interferometry nature of OCT imaging. Also, to avoid motion artifacts due to the fixation eye movements, the OCT clinical images are often captured at lower than nominal sampling rates [1], [2]. Therefore, effective denoising and interpolation algorithms are necessary for automated or even manual OCT image analysis. Interpolation and denoising are two of the most well known problems in image processing, and various methods based on various ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These shortcomings can be mitigated using sparse models because they can be used with smaller datasets and have intrinsic denoising and interpolation capability [21] [24]. In recent years, several researchers have utilized modern sparse representation and closely related compressed sensing methods to devise various OCT image denoising and interpolation algorithms. Compressed sensing methods have been presented with promising results to reconstruct both Fourier [25] [27] and spatial domain SDOCT data [28] [30]. Although the former has been demonstrated promising results, it needs imaging hardware modifications. Thus, we are interested in spatial domain SDOCT reconstruction methods which are more applicable to end users of current clinical imaging systems. In this regime, denoising and interpolating regularly sub sampled spatial domain SDOCT images have been also shown as a promising approach [2], [12], [13]. Inspired by the natural image super resolution literature [21], [31] [34], Fang et al. [12], [13] have tried to denoise and interpolate SDOCT images by proposing a fast coupled dictionary learning approach. They clustered image patches space to learn a couple of LR HR dictionaries for each subspace. Although the idea of adaptive dictionary selection has shown to be very effective for various image restoration problems [22], [23], ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I see a socially awkward teenager, I see someone who is oblivious to the immensity of real life, I see a dancing phenom. I like to compare myself to John Travolta from Saturday Night Fever, and it s not my groovy hairdo and careless attitude that builds this parallel, it s the fact that we re both kings of the dance floor. Unlike John, I m no connoisseur in the art of 70 s disco, instead, I ve mastered the Latin dances of quinceañeras. For as long as I can remember I ve been the black sheep of my Latino family, I lack street toughness, the ability to speak Spanish and worst of all, I have a white skin tone. Now let s talk about this in detail. The diaries the Wright brothers left included all the models they did, their ideas, and some pictures that prove they flew, they investigated the birds movements and they put them in the diaries and how they carried out them to their airplanes.
