Describing all Phobias, but Particularly Coulrophobia and...
Introduction In this paper I will be describing phobias and fear, but more specifically coulrophobia
(the fear of clowns) and Monophobia (the fear of being alone). I also will describe possible causes of
phobias, the history of phobias, how fear is helpful in small amounts, what fear does to someone and
how to defeat it. Fear is present in all people but some more than others and I would like to know why.
The definition of a phobia is an extreme or irrational fear of or aversion to something . Phobias are
never simple and often do not have a simple answers or cures, but there are ways of dealing with
phobias. There are some treatments that can help you get over your fears. Phobias are not easy to get

you muscles also tighten up to allow you to run or fight with all your energy without getting a cramp
or pulling a muscle. Being afraid is a natural way that our bodies prepare ourselves to make quick
decisions and react upon these decisions without taking an excessive amount of time. There are other
changes that also occurs when someone is experiencing fear, especially large amounts. The brain is
very complex and has more than one hundred billion nerve cells which are all an intricate network in
themselves. These cells create communications which is everything we sense, think, or do. Some of
these communications lead to conscious thought and action, but others produce autonomic responses.
when you are experiencing fear, your reactions are almost completely automatic so you don t even
know it is happening until it has. There are many parts of the brain than can be linked to experiencing
or reacting to fear but the main parts responsible are: The Thalamus, the Sensory Cortex, the
Hippocampus, the Amygdala and the Hypothalamus. The Thalamus decides where new sensory data
should be sent (eyes, ears, mouth or skin.) The Sensory Cortex Interprets sensory data and the
Hippocampus stores and retrieves memories regarding the topic or situation to form a context. The
Amygdala is much like the Hippocampus in the way that it stores traumatic memories, but it also
recognises threats and determines emotions. The Hypothalamus is the last and final responder. The

Gimli Glider Crisis
According to the The Gimli Glider by Wade H. Nelson, a multitude of problems caused the Air
Canada Flight 143 to drop 41,000 from the ground eventually landing in Ottawa. In Montreal, a
computer known as the Fuel Quantity Information System Processor controls the fuel pumps and the
767 fuel gauges which were not working at this time due to the fault of an Air Canada technician. Due
to the unresponsive and poor sensors on the fuel gauges the crew members has to step up to plate and
calculate the fuel using dripping strips . Nevertheless, the crew members thought they had received the
correct measurement for the specific gravity factor, 1.77 pounds/liter . However, this later was proved
to be incorrect due to the misplacement of units.

Perks Of Being A Wallflower Analysis
In both Steven Chbosky and J.D. Salinger s coming of age novels The Perks of Being a Wallflower
and The Catcher in the Rye both authors successfully explore the idea of entering adulthood as an
outsider. The Perks of Being a Wallflower follows a fifteen year old boy, Charlie. Charlie has recently
lost his best friend Michael to suicide and is struggling to come to terms with his death. He is in his
freshman year of high school and struggles to fit in socially, until he meets a group of seniors who
take him under their wing and introduce him to a world he could never imagine. Written in the form of
a series of letters to an anonymous recipient, Chbosky allows the audience to have an in depth
perception of Charlies mind and his struggles with mental illness. Similarly, with The Catcher in the
Rye, the story is narrated by a young man called Holden. Holden is also known as an outsider who
struggles to fit in socially and struggles with mental health issues. Salinger explores the ideas of the
struggles of growing up in a contemporary world. The use of perspective, stylistic features, and
contexts help the authors to convey this idea. This report explores how the authors successfully use
these techniques.
PERSPECTIVE (what is the culture of the context? is this/behaviours typical of the contextual
culture?)
In both novels, first person narration is used in order to give an in depth perspective of the main
characters, Holden and Charlie. The Perks of Being a Wallflower is

Paper 5 Anatomy/Physiology of the Special Senses (vision/auditory)
Color Perception
Visual processing in our brain cannot be done without actual vision. The anatomy of the eye is
carefully arranged with all the parts that assist our vision in an optimal way. A layer of connective
tissue called the sclera surrounds the eyeball. Underneath it is the choroid, which is rich in blood
vessels that supply the eye. Attached to this layer is the lens by cililary muscles. The lens focus light to
the retina and the amount of light entering is controlled by pupil dilation or constriction. Pupil dilation
and constriction is regulated by the iris of the eye which consist of two layers of smooth muscle layers
that contract or constrict to increase or decrease the diameter of the pupil respectively. The retina is the
inner most layer of the eye. It the main site of photoreceptors that convert light energy into electrical
energy where the information gets sent to the brain and is what we perceive as vision. (Marieb, 2014)
Two types of photoreceptors can be found in the retina, the rods and cones. Rods are mainly
responsible for scoptic vision thus mostly reactive in dim lighting. Cones are responsible for
photopicvision, which provides color under bright light conditions. When it is dark out, only the rods
are active so you see monochromatic vision. There are three types of cones S, M and L that respond to
different wavelengths. Each rod and cone contains two parts the

M.A. English (Final)
Decoding Wolfgang Iser‟s Reading Process Theory through the Text of Mrs Dalloway and
Bravely Fought the Queen In the 1960s, the new criticism theory in the American Literary arena
focused on the reading of a literary text as an independent form and not to be studied in relation to any
context. This gave birth to another theory that began majorly in 1960s and 1970s known as reader
response criticism, which also tried to do away with the author‟s role and focused on the reader‟s
perception that defined the text‟s subjectivity. In his work The Reading Process A
Phenomenological Approach , Wolfgang Iser describes about the reading of a literary work or text as
an interaction between the reader and the author. In order to understand a text in a better way and to
explore its meaning, Louise Rosenblatt in his work Literature as Exploration described how the
readers should be free from any preconceived notions about the proper way to react to any work
(Lewis,C.S.,1961) to experience any work or text individually. Similarly,
Iser also want the readers to make a niche for themselves while the aesthetic reading of a wok or a
text. Wolfgang Iser‟s reading in reference to two works, namely, Mrs Dalloway by Virginia
Woolf and Bravely Fought the Queen by Mahesh Dattani has been assessed in order to have a better
understanding and a practical approach in exploration or understanding the meaning of the texts. Mrs

Grizzly Bears are also known as Brown Bears, are endangered species and fascinating creatures.
Grizzlies have unique appearance. They have humps on their backs made of muscle, and their fur
gives them a grizzled look which gave them their name, Grizzly Bear.
Grizzly Bears aggressive predators and have incredible strength. They are usually twice the size of a
black bear. Male grizzly weighs up between 400 to about 900 pounds. Female grizzly weighs up to
about 200 to about 500 pounds. They can run up to bout 40 miles per hour. They can stand on their

Critical Whiteness Studies
Critical Whiteness Studies: What is it? Is whiteness only a matter of skin pigmentation? Nyack (2007)
questions what would happen if we were to see whiteness as more of an organizing principle. Critical
Whiteness Studies (CWS), she explains, provides a radically different way to think about race and
challenge whiteness as the universal norm. If, additionally, we think of whiteness as a social construct
that includes white culture, ideology, racialization, experiences and emotions, we can understand that
CWS focuses on problematizing the normality of hegemonic whiteness which has allowed whites to

The study of whiteness as a problem has been an African American tradition going back to Frederick
Douglass (Roediger, 2001). W.E.B. Dubois (1935) first used the term whiteness as an academic term,
noting it had substantive material value in terms of public deference, which he labeled a type of
psychological wage. Giroux (1997) points to the work of Ralph Ellison and James Baldwin, often
found in Black magazines throughout the 1960 1980 s, continuing to explore the concept of whiteness
in the public forum. The CWS approach to understanding racism, not as the fault of the oppressed, but
instead directing the focus toward the racially dominant, was continued by non white scholars
including Toni Morrison and bell hooks in the early 1990 s (Howard, 2004). In the late 1980 s, interest
in critically examining whiteness grew, inspired by Critical Race Theory. White authors including
David Roediger, Noel Ignatiev and Ruth Frankenberg began to explore whiteness. Other scholars of

True Equality for Women at the Workplace
People are judged by their gender, which often, in many situations, lead to bias decisions and
unfairness within business organizations for women. Women are often not held up to the standard of a
man in the business workforce, which leaves them with fewer position choices outside the norm. Most
jobs that women have are not demanding upon the body and require little to no strength. The failure to
understand adaptation by the government has caused many reforms in the past, but there are still many
flaws in the hiring system that often leave women asking questions and puzzled by the bias decisions
of men in charge of the management of positions. The fight for equality amongst women has been
going on for many years. Although women are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

she had experienced and the experiences of the women in her family. Latrice retold stories of
situations where her mother was turned down numerous of times because of the simple fact that she
was a woman. The amount of pain caused to the family was present through her answers and
descriptions of the issues. It further exemplifies the harm caused by people that have a poor mind

me that my degree had no meaning if I was not willing to fight for positions against one sided odds, so
that let me know that women were not completely equal with men (Swenson). Taylors statements gave

The Business Model Of Like Uber
DoorDash, like Uber, is an example of yet another Peer to Peer business model; this one takes orders
and delivers food via company drivers. In other words, DoorDash takes food from restaurants and
delivers it to the consumer, thereby eliminating the relationships between restaurants and clients. To
that end, DoorDash operates not only as a customer acquisition company, but also as a logistics
company focused on food delivery. DoorDash is disrupting the old way that food is delivered to
customers by interjecting an intermediary.
In addition, while DoorDash only focuses on food delivery at present, it plans to expand to non food
areas and use its logistical delivery infrastructure to deliver anything to anyone in the future. With

Having a Strong Technical Team
In the story of this company, its CEO Xu said, to make one delivery successful there s fifteen small
things you have to get correct, which is shocking. This is true because the company must consider
every detailed problem like the most appropriate time to arrive at each restaurant. These optimization
problems make it difficult to make delivery times more efficient and satisfactory to customers. To
solve this problem, the company hires a team of engineers to build a high functioning online system.
This system allows DoorDash to obtain and keep customers and therefore obtain more business. A
strong technical team is crucial for any peer to peer business model like DoorDash.
Using Contract Workers
Food delivery is not the same as other delivery service because it has limited peak times. Most food
deliveries happen during mealtimes. Due to this fact, DoorDash uses contract workers instead of full
time employees. Therefore, it smartly and efficiently reduces the labor costs without hurting the
quality of the service.
Business Strategy: Making Money in the Long Run
As mentioned before, DoorDash focuses on customer experience and consumer need in the short term.
According to its official website, it charges $6 per delivery, and the driver will receive a flat

A history of militarism and colonialism are the biggest obstacle to democracy in South America.
Using the case of Argentina, this paper will be discussing how its famous history of militarism and
consequent military rule has undermined the concept of a democracy. I will then go into detail about
the certain aspects of military rule, ( The Dirty War , gross economic mismanagement and patron
client relationships), that make it such an obstacle to democracy. I shall also try and explain how a
history of colonialism has made Argentina more susceptible to military rule than perhaps other
countries in the region.

This mix created a new race known as the Criollos Argentine born Spaniards as opposed to the
Peninsulares who were born in Spain. As the population of Criollos grew to outnumber the
Peninsulares the gap between political agendas grew and grew. With the incentive of the Peninsulares
to maintain order and governance over a two tiered system that gave them a high position in society.
As you would imagine, the Criollos had no such plans to maintain this imperialist system that gave
them few rights and opportunities. This growing tension led to revolution.
The Spainish empire, riddled with economic mismanagement and corruption, saw its power of the
world stage greatly reduced. When Napoleon turned on his ally Spain, imprisoning the Spanish royal
family, chaos was unleashed across Spanish America. In 1810 the Spanish viceroy, a regal official who
ran the country, was deposed. In 1816 Argentina was declared Independent.
One of the most damaging things about colonialism is the effect when the colonisers leave. Many
institutions are often abandoned as been the case in many examples of post colonialism most notably
in Africa and South America. Argentine nationals, left with little political knowledge and framework
found it difficult to establish an united nation. The loss of Spanish rule led to anarchy and a civil war
that would last 50 years.
One of these causes for the intense civil war may be a Latin American

it s been known that what actually gets into the news reports is monitored and carefully picked by

On a daily basis, Orwell was perceived as an intruder upon the Burmese land by the natives, but on
this day, he is momentarily worth watching (Orwell 337). Taking up an elephant rifle, Orwell went
forward to do something about the elephant, though he wasn t sure exactly what that would be. He
didn t want to kill the elephant, but now that he held the rifle, he felt that the Burmese had the power
and were forcing him along: Here was I, the white man with his gun, standing in front of the unarmed
native crowd seemingly the leading actor of the piece; but in reality I was only an absurd puppet

spend his life in trying to impress the natives, and so in every crisis he has got to do what the natives
expect of him (Orwell 337). Orwell s perspective was that because the Burmese expected him to shoot
the elephant, he had no other choice but to do so. His own ideals of how shooting the elephant was
wrong were overcastted by the Burmese media, who urged him along and condoned the death of the
elephant. It is not evident whether or not the natives were aware of their power over Orwell. The

Flaws In Othello Essay
Research Essay: Othello by William Shakespeare
Was Othello a victim of circumstances or his own flaws? by Alijaeh Go 9B4 First performed in the
court of King James I on November 1 1604, The Tragedy of Othello: The Moor of Venice was written
by William Shakespeare between 1601 and 1604. The basic premise of the play is the protagonist s
(Othello s) marriage with the daughter of the senator, Desdemona: Their marriage, unfortunately, is
sabotaged by the envious Iago, insinuating to Othello of his wife s alleged infidelity. The play reaches
its climactic peak when the general s jealousy vows to exact bloody revenge on the perpetrators
(Desdemona and Cassio) that caused him to be a cuckold . All of Iago s schemes come into fruition
when the noble Moor smothers his wife to death: The play spirals further downhill with most of the
cast either dead, severely injured or in Iago s case, on the process to be tortured. Based from this
summary, a mere observer would conclude that the reason for Othello s downfall is his hamartia his
incessant jealousy that caused for his rash actions. However, numerous opinions and facts beg to

Travesti Sex Workers in Brazil
Introduction
Travestility in Brazil has been used to refer to the disparateness of travestis identities. On the other
hand, travesti is an emic idea widely used in Latin America and Brazil. Scholars argue that trying to
explain who travestis are can seem paradoxical, especially when travesti identities are talked about as
heterogenous, plural and multiple.
Travestis are individuals who change their physical appearance to make it look like a woman s body.
Travestis dress and live their daily life as people belonging to the female gender group, without the
desire to undergo reconstructive surgery of removing the penis and constructing a vagina. Their
practices, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Perhaps it would have been a different situation, if they were actually women who are acting and
thinking like men. According to travesties, being of the primary gender (biologically male), thinking
and behaving like women is unacceptable because it downgrades one s gender status. On the contrary,
being biologically female, behaving and thinking like men is upgrading and heroic. In this sense,
being like a girl has been a challenge since childhood for travestis. They always feared that people
would find out and shame them in the society. While peculiarly following their unimpressive path in
the society, of desiring women and experiencing sex, travesti subjectivity is generated out of their
apprehensive relationships with their untrustworthy boyfriends. Within this subjectivity, travestis
efforts to show themselves within the normal boundaries of the Brazilian society strengthen the gender
binary. In their relations with their boyfriends, they act like nothing else other than females. Similarly,
in their profession, they play the role of a female or male depending on the demands of the situation
by swapping between the binary gender roles. Travesti subjectivity comes into the limelight with

The author suggests that leaders in educational programs should adopt the values of a Social Change
Model in conjunction with digital leadership competencies. According to the article, the Social
Change Model is a leadership development model composed of three levels, including individual,

agents of social change. With this in mind, digital leadership requires reflection on online self
awareness and congruence, grappling with the controversy that comes with cyber civility and how to
be a digital citizen prepared to inspire positive change in modern society. In addition, these leaders
should be adept in digital literacy, which includes a concatenation of technical (online interfaces,

These competencies give leaders the leeway to quickly address rapid changes in technology by being

Problem Formulation And Scope Of Supply Chain Systems
1.3 Problem Formulation and Scope
To describe and predict the behaviour of complex reverse supply chain systems, it is often necessary
to use elaborate mathematical modelling. In the same manner, identification of the optimum operating
conditions that will ensure improved supply chain performance usually renders the use of an
optimisation technique essential. For the last decade, a variety of modelling research activities have
been carried out to address the complex reverse supply chain optimisation problems. However, most
of the research has focused mainly on operational and tactical planning problems which may not
provide sufficient insight into the long term design and planning issues of reverse supply chains.
Furthermore, a common limitation of most traditional approaches is the lack of incorporating
quantitative environmental performance modelling. In this context, this study will focus on strategic
reverse supply chain management aiming at determining the setup of economically viable and
environmentally friendly reverse supply chain networks.
1.3.1 Research Questions
The aims of this research have been translated into nine research questions which are presented as
follows:
 Question 1: What are the general characteristics of reverse supply chains from a logistics point of
view?
In order to design reverse supply chains at a strategic level, we have to identify the common features
of the supply chains. To this end, we will investigate reverse supply chain settings

The Ethical Practices Of Managers And Co Workers
Ethics is defined as the discipline dealing with what is good and bad and doing so with moral duty and
obligation. The corporate perception of ethics often varies from the definition of the term which can
cause an abundance of issues in the workplace. Interpretations range from what a person s feelings say
are right or wrong, religious beliefs, law requirements, or just what is acceptable to society morals.
Despite the varying translations of business ethics one thing that is undeniable is the huge positive or
negative affect it has on a company s success. It is evident that people are influenced by those around
them; celebrities, politics, peers, and superiors are just a few examples to claim. The ethical practices
of managers and co workers are influential to the employees who work for and with them and should
demonstrate the conduct which the company would like to be known for in the public eye because of
the potential gains and competitive benefit of morally sound employees who are dedicated to the code
of ethics their business enforces and promotes. Cause for concern is derived from the numerous
reports of corporate scandal or fraud and the impact on society s view of businesses convicted or
accused of such acts. In many of these cases said acts are carried out by numerous employees and
even separate companies working together in discretion. Not as guilty as those performing the
unethical tasks, but still in part to blame for the prolonged continuance are the employees

QUESTION 3 The assertion that all works by weird fiction authors are simply ridiculous flights of
fancy wholly detached from real world issues and problems is completely false. I could choose almost
any example from our readings and pick out some sort of real world issue or important thing that I
have learned from them. For the sake of time, however, I will focus on The Yellow Wallpaper by
Charlotte Perkins Gilman, The Summer People by Shirley Jackson and Smoke Ghost by Fritz Leiber.
Each of these stories has succeeded in broadening my horizons and has taught me something
important about the world in which we live. Weird fiction stories cover a wide range of important
issues including sexism, the social structure of tourist towns and the disparity of the working class. In
the introduction to the book Weird Fiction by S. T. Joshi, different aspects of the weird tale are
examined. Joshi states that the weird tale...did not (and perhaps does not now) exist as a genre but as
the consequence of a world view (1). This quote refers to the fact that weird literature stems from a
desire to display a certain view of the world to readers, not just take them on a flight of detached

of his introduction, In every case we shall see that each writers entire output is a philosophical unity,

Wuthering Heights And Thrushcross Knighte Analysis
Is Wuthering Heights as nice a place as Thrushcross Grange? (Brontë 329). That seems to be the
question quickly answered in the start of the novel, Wuthering Heights, by Emily Brontë, and the
answer is very clearly: No. In Wuthering Heights, contrast between the two main and unique places,
Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange, helps to define and separate the lifestyles of the main
characters. Wuthering Heights is distinctively more dark and chaotic and is full of troubles that make
it seem a much darker place, while Thrushcross Grange is a brighter and more peaceful house. Brontë
is able to use the two contrasting places to help support the drastically different character personalities,
whether it be troublesome Catherine or her peaceful and calmer husband, Edgar. The use of the
drastically different places, Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange, are vital to the novel because
they offer contrast in the physical houses and define the people living in them and are meaningful to
the novel by providing a deep and drastic connection to each place for the reader to separate and
understand the characters thoroughly.
The difference between Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange is literally like night and day in
the sense of drastic environmental differences that lead to a vivid contrast between the two places. As
Lockwood first comes upon Wuthering Heights, he was greeted by the dark contrast from the
surrounding town of Gimmerton. Wuthering Heights is notably

the technology and do not seriously think about how it might be usefully applied (Davies, 2009).
Indeed, language learning and teaching approach should be pedagogy driven and learning based,
which is more rigid and emphasises on the needs of learners with the aid of technology resource and
tools. Contrarily, technology driven approach which attempts to formulate a pedagogy based on the
cutting edge advantages of a new device, should be abandoned. If a language teaching or learning
project is driven by the fashionable technology, it might pose the danger to the learners as well as the
teachers disappearing over the horizon of SLA pedagogy.
Number of research reveal that learners dislike reading large amount of text on the screen, such as
Wiki, and they often prefer to print out the documents for reading. For instance, Boulton s (2005)
paper indicated that less than 20% of his students are happy with on screen reading. Anderson (2003)
reports that metacognitive online reading strategies plays important role in online L2 reading.
Despite of input issue, barrier of producing written output using ICT tools has also been noticed.
Mishan (2004) points out that it might sometimes be challenging for learners to compose on screen.

How Did Martin Luther King Jr Dream
Growing up Martin Luther King. Jr had a happy middle class life, but even with all of this he still
noticed social problems. His father was a respected preacher, his mother was a college educated
musician, and his grandmother, who lived with them, was extremely fond of him. He was also close to
his older sister and younger brother, who started college at fifteen. When he was younger, he had to
experience long bread lines. He also learned about racial discrimination at six, when then neighbors
stop playing with him. When he went to his mother to ask, his mother told him, you are as good as
anyone, as it says in Heeding the Call by Diana Childress. When Martin Luther Jr. went with his dad
to get shoes, the salesman told him to move ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They had to stand in the aisle for the ninety mile trip This made King very deeply angry. Even though
his first plan was to become a doctor, he then decided to major in sociology, where he learned more
about the racial issues. After he still wanted to further his knowledge in theology. He would read about
Walter Rauschenbush, Mohandas Gandhi, and Reinhold Niebuhr. All of these people were against
racism and influenced Martin Luther about racism and what to do. Even after coming first in his class,
he still wanted to further his knowledge in philosophy and doctorate it. He went to Boston further to
accomplish his goal, where he met the love of his life, Coretta Scott. After finishing his course and
getting married, they decided to go back to the South. This was a very fateful decision they took. After
Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on the bus, the African American community was ready to take
action and chose Martin Luther King Jr. to lead their protests. He started to join the African American
community and he started to go on marches and boycotts. All of these ideas came from his readings of
Mohandas Gandhi. He had a different way to get what he wanted, Gandhi would boycott and go on
marches. This influenced King greatly. After all of this he would give speeches and talk

Assess the Strengths and Weaknesses of the Psychodynamic...
Assess the Strengths and Weaknesses of the Psychodynamic approach to understanding personality
The psychodynamic approach was proposed by Freud. This approach towards personality is based on
the notion of underlying forces such as the id, ego and superego which are either present from birth or
develop during childhood shape our behaviour and personality as such. Experiences in childhood are
proposed to be the basis of human personality, according to Freud and as such Psychodynamic theory
proposes that some undesirable unbalances between the id and superego can create the arising of ego
defence mechanisms which explain individual differences in behaviour. Freudian theory has been
adapted by neo Freudians, however while psychodynamic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another strength of the psychodynamic approach to personality is that it has provided a valuable
insight into how early experiences or relationships can affect our adult personality. One of the
examples of this is that fixations can be causes during even the earliest few months of childhood, such
as the oral stage in psychosexual development, this can be caused by separation from the caregiver too
early or having feeding difficulties. These fixations can then lead to psychological problems in
personality centred around eating or drinking. Jacobs et al (1966) used the Rorschach inkblots to
compare the orality of smokers and non smokers, finding that smokers emerged as being significantly
more oral.
On this note, the psychodynamic theory also provided psychological treatments which are still widely
used today in therapy for personality disorders. These two treatments in psychodynamic theory are the
Rorschach inkblot test and assessment/analysis of dreams. In the Rorschach test the subjects
perceptions of inkblots are recorded and then analysed using psychological interpretation, complex
scientifically derived algorithms or both. These can be used to assess an individual s personality
characteristics. However this Rorschach test itself has been strongly criticised. Firstly

Essay on Heroes in Western Film
Heroes in Western Film
In the genre of western films, the hero plays a key role. Humanity portrays civilization overcoming the
hostile country (Miller 66). In many films the American civil war is over, and people have turned their
attention to more constructive pursuits. Battling nature to progress America s future, rather than each
other. In between this wild country, fraught with danger and corruption lies the role of the hero. A hero
is an individual with exceptional skills and through his abilities is able to rid a stricken town of the
corrupt elements within. In many cases however, the hero s skills are not enough. His relationship
with the community can define how successful his help can be.
In the films Shane and Dodge City we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is for this reason he is incensed to defend the community from Ryker (Emile Meyer). He has
become personally involved with creating a community that he wishes to continue to see flourish;
even if his choice dictates that he has to leave in order to succeed.
Wade Hatton, (Errol Flynn) in Dodge City, is a much more extroverted hero than Shane, and has
greater plans to reform the town than merely just driving out the criminal element. Hatton s entry to
the film is also much more grand. He is a soldier of fortune transplanted to the American frontier.
(Abel 18). This alone creates the illusion of Hatton being a much more romantic hero and having
greater plans than merely just wanting to build a community. He wishes to clean out the wickedness
and lawlessness that Dodge City has become. To do this, he introduces sweeping reforms that not only
remove the criminal element, but also set a moral tone for the community. This establishes him as a
community leader who is willing to do whatever is necessary to curb the violence and death that has
stricken the town. He even arrests his friend Rusty (Alan Hart) for carrying a gun to prove that no one
is above the law.
People respect Hatton for who he is and what he has done for the community, not necessarily for who
he is as a person. This fact sets him apart from Shane. Hatton s actions are dictated by his own morals
and beliefs, (the desire to make the community safe for women and children )

Immunization Tour
Immunizations, in my opinion, are one of the most crucial ways to protect yourself and others in
receiving and spreading of diseases. On the 26th of October, in the McNamara Alumni Center, I
volunteered for two hours with the Fall 2017 Immunization Tour. My role in the tour, along with three
other nursing students, was to stand in the entrance and show people where to go. Even in this small
act, I felt as though I was making a difference. This experience was valuable to me in my future
actions to become a nurse. My experience at the Fall 2017 Immunization Tour was impacted
significantly through the efforts of safety, teamwork, and communication.
The Immunization Tour notably focused and relied on the implications of safety. Since I volunteered
at the tour in the morning, when they first started, I got to stand around the huddle before the opened
the doors. One of the key details they talked about was the importance of what to do in cases of needle
sticks. The volunteers giving the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Teamwork was also addressed in the huddle prior to the opening of the clinic. In working together as a
team, they could effectively assist the appointments and the walk ins in a reasonable amount of time.
Their teamwork was clearly helpful since the line moved efficiently and was never awfully long. The
communication of the administers and other volunteers, including myself, was a third key factor in the
tour s process. Our communication included the freshman nursing students leading the patients in, the
second set of volunteers greeting them at the desk, the third set of volunteers administering the shots,
and the fourth set of volunteers handed out stickers, suckers, and lead the patients out after the shots.
This cycle of communication was highly effective in the speed and safety of administering the flu
shots. The teamwork and communication efforts involved lead to an efficient

Civil War In Costa Rica
One country I would like to visit in the next couple years is Costa Rica. Costa Rica is a Central
American country situated between Panama and Nicaragua. Costa Rica is popular tourist attraction
known for its rain forest, beaches, volcanoes and pre columbian history.
Costa Rica is known for not having an army due to their belief in world peace. The war Costa Rica
was involved in was the Dominican Civil War in 1965 where they assisted their allies the Dominican
Republic in establishing a democracy. Prior to that Costa Rica was involved in its own civil war in
1948. The Costa Rican civil war last 44 days and claimed approximately 2000 lives. The war began
when Jose Figueres with support of the United States led the Caribbean Legion in its rebellion

Fortunato Vs Poe
The characters in Mary Howitt s fable/poem, The Spider and the Fly, are ideal comparisons and
contrasts to the characters of Montressor and Fortunato in Edgar Allen Poe s short story, The Cask of
Amontillado. Anyone familiar with the often quoted first line, Will you walk into my parlor, said the
Spider to the Fly , could easily hear Will you walk into my catacombs, said Montressor to Fortunato!
Howitt s fable is a warning to any naïve individual who is being drawn into a dangerous situation by
the use of flattery and florid speech. While Hewitt s Fly is wise and not deceived, Poe s Fly
(Fortunato) is gullible and easily deceived. The naïve Fortunato is a wine connoisseur who prides
himself in his ability to distinguish average sherry from elegant wines, such as Amontillado. Having
suffered the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The same way that the spider has no genuine regard for the fly, Montressor believes that Fortunato is
deserving of scorn, disrespect and mockery, showing it in several ways. M s disrespect for F is
exposed when M replies true, true to F s statement, I shall not die of a cough. Even though M has no
regard for F s cough, he encourages F not to go deeper into the catacombs; M s intention is not for his
good will, but for his immolation. M scorns F when he refers to himself as a mason and produces a
trowel as a symbol of the Mason brotherhood. F is shocked and rejects the comment. One of the worst
examples of the mockery...Quote. The resentment may be imagined, but his contempt is cruelly

Piano Concert Review
On April 12, 2016 I attended Susan Davis and Dr. Robert Wells Bach, Rach and Blues piano selections
from Baroque period to the modern Blues Era. This was great experience for me because it was my
first time attending a concert that was being played on the piano throughout the entire concert. It was
also a great experience because I gotten the chance to see my music professor (Mrs. Davis) perform
what she loves to do it. . Since the beginning of the year, I always wanted to see my music professor
(Mrs. Davis) play an entire piece. This concert gave inspiration to go after my once and now
childhood dreams of playing the piano. I just love to hear the melody of the piano because its gives the
music a new sound with a deeper meaning. Mrs. Davis s class really gave insight on the baroque
which help me understand the era being tribute to in the performances. Each baroque and blues section
had two selections that was being played. The two selections I enjoy the most was Miss Celie s Blues
from the movie, The Color ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

my first time hearing or seeing this cartoon because I lonely tunes wasn t my favorite cartoon when I
was growing up. I enjoy this piece the most because it was interesting to see two Mrs. Davis and Dr.
Robert Wells played this piece. It was amazing to see the both of them played this piece while the
cartoon was played. I felt as if I was in the movies watching this concert. Even though they finish
before the cartoon was over, it was still amazing. Since I watched the cartoon before the concert I
know which part was being and that part was kill the rabbit . Overall I enjoy this piece and it was my

Strength In John Steinbeck s Of Mice And Men
Having to be strong can be really beneficial for you. Although your strengths can be visible at times,
there can be some signs of weakness present in your life. Although they may not obvious to you, they
can be obvious to others. The same is represented in the story, Of Mice and Men. Strength and
weakness can be present during the story through physical, mental, or emotional challenges, but how
can you understand of they are either weak or strong? To understand this, you ll need to know what
the setting is. If you have read the story, you should know that this book took place during the 1930s,
in the middle of the great depression. During that time, people weren t treated correctly by those who
are more dominant than the others.
When showing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
How strength can be present in the story from the time when George goes Lennie, and shoots his
skull. The reason why George has done this, is because Lennie s physical strength is too powerful with
a combination of his mental weakness where Lennie can t control it. This leads to the murder of
Curley s wife and her broken neck. After her death, some of the characters of the story thinks that
killing Lennie is Justified , but what was done has to done. George knew that his American Dream is
now over because of the death of Curley s wife. So in order to prevent any future harm to others,
George decided to kill Lennie. When George finally found Lennie, he talked about their american
dream. While talking about their dream, George then started to pick up a pistol to finally end the story
by killing Lennie. This is supported by And George raised the gun and steadied it... He pulled the
trigger (Steinbeck 106). Even though it s sad to see that Lennie died, George was both mentally and
emotionally strong to know what what was done is done. For emotional weakness, Lennie shows his
emotional instability about not being able to tend the rabbits for the dream farm after killing both a
puppy and a human being. You can see when Lennie starts to hallucinate where the giant rabbit talks
about how lennie will never them If you think George gonna let you tend rabbits,

Neoconservative And Discrimination Against Gays And...
People may not notice little things that others do or say. Something as small as calling someone gay
because they identify themselves as homosexual, could emotionally traumatize them. Examples of
these issues are LGBTQ+ working in a labour intensive employment, and is treated as weak or unfit
for the position, thus being looked down upon. For centuries, people follow the stereotype that people
of a different gender or sexual identity are looked down upon and considered outliers of the society.
Our group will go in depth and demonstrate examples of discrimination against LGBTQ+ in the
workforce, by first analyzing the root of this problem. A few questions that we will evaluating are: if
people dislike LGBTQ+ in the workforce because they are homosexuals, or because they are lacking
in skill, education, experience etc. Second question that ties with the root of the issue is to find out
why majority of people discriminate individuals that identify as LGBTQ+ homosexuals. Lastly, our
group will be explaining different point of views of this issue. We will be using a variety of
frameworks that we have learned in class such as viewing the social problem with a Neoliberal,
Neoconservative and transformative outlook to analyze the social problem. Topics that we can analyze
using these frameworks, include who is at fault or who is to blame within the social problem, how
each framework would try to resolve the social problem, and what are some things that each
framework can do

  • 2. Describing all Phobias, but Particularly Coulrophobia and... Introduction In this paper I will be describing phobias and fear, but more specifically coulrophobia (the fear of clowns) and Monophobia (the fear of being alone). I also will describe possible causes of phobias, the history of phobias, how fear is helpful in small amounts, what fear does to someone and how to defeat it. Fear is present in all people but some more than others and I would like to know why. The definition of a phobia is an extreme or irrational fear of or aversion to something . Phobias are never simple and often do not have a simple answers or cures, but there are ways of dealing with phobias. There are some treatments that can help you get over your fears. Phobias are not easy to get into without getting into very ... Being afraid is a natural way that our bodies prepare ourselves to make quick decisions and react upon these decisions without taking an excessive amount of time. There are other changes that also occurs when someone is experiencing fear, especially large amounts. The brain is very complex and has more than one hundred billion nerve cells which are all an intricate network in themselves. These cells create communications which is everything we sense, think, or do. Some of these communications lead to conscious thought and action, but others produce autonomic responses. when you are experiencing fear, your reactions are almost completely automatic so you don t even know it is happening until it has. There are many parts of the brain than can be linked to experiencing or reacting to fear but the main parts responsible are: The Thalamus, the Sensory Cortex, the Hippocampus, the Amygdala and the Hypothalamus. The Thalamus decides where new sensory data should be sent (eyes, ears, mouth or skin.) The Sensory Cortex Interprets sensory data and the Hippocampus stores and retrieves memories regarding the topic or situation to form a context. The Amygdala is much like the Hippocampus in the way that it stores traumatic memories, but it also recognises threats and determines emotions. The Hypothalamus is the last and final responder. In Montreal, a computer known as the Fuel Quantity Information System Processor controls the fuel pumps and the 767 fuel gauges which were not working at this time due to the fault of an Air Canada technician. Due to the unresponsive and poor sensors on the fuel gauges the crew members has to step up to plate and calculate the fuel using dripping strips . However, this later was proved to be incorrect due to the misplacement of units. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Perks Of Being A Wallflower Analysis In both Steven Chbosky and J.D. Salinger s coming of age novels The Perks of Being a Wallflower and The Catcher in the Rye both authors successfully explore the idea of entering adulthood as an outsider. The Perks of Being a Wallflower follows a fifteen year old boy, Charlie. Charlie has recently lost his best friend Michael to suicide and is struggling to come to terms with his death. He is in his freshman year of high school and struggles to fit in socially, until he meets a group of seniors who take him under their wing and introduce him to a world he could never imagine. Written in the form of a series of letters to an anonymous recipient, Chbosky allows the audience to have an in depth perception of Charlies mind and his struggles with mental illness. Similarly, with The Catcher in the Rye, the story is narrated by a young man called Holden. Holden is also known as an outsider who struggles to fit in socially and struggles with mental health issues. Salinger explores the ideas of the struggles of growing up in a contemporary world. The use of perspective, stylistic features, and contexts help the authors to convey this idea. This report explores how the authors successfully use these techniques. PERSPECTIVE (what is the culture of the context? is this/behaviours typical of the contextual culture?) In both novels, first person narration is used in order to give an in depth perspective of the main characters, Holden and Charlie. The Perks of Being a Wallflower is ... Anatomy Physiology Of The Special Senses Yin Ma AANT316 Paper 5 Anatomy/Physiology of the Special Senses (vision/auditory) Color Perception Visual processing in our brain cannot be done without actual vision. The anatomy of the eye is carefully arranged with all the parts that assist our vision in an optimal way. A layer of connective tissue called the sclera surrounds the eyeball. Underneath it is the choroid, which is rich in blood vessels that supply the eye. Attached to this layer is the lens by cililary muscles. The lens focus light to the retina and the amount of light entering is controlled by pupil dilation or constriction. Pupil dilation and constriction is regulated by the iris of the eye which consist of two layers of smooth muscle layers that contract or constrict to increase or decrease the diameter of the pupil respectively. The retina is the inner most layer of the eye. It the main site of photoreceptors that convert light energy into electrical energy where the information gets sent to the brain and is what we perceive as vision. (Marieb, 2014) Two types of photoreceptors can be found in the retina, the rods and cones. Rods are mainly responsible for scoptic vision thus mostly reactive in dim lighting. Cones are responsible for photopicvision, which provides color under bright light conditions. When it is dark out, only the rods are active so you see monochromatic vision. There are three types of cones S, M and L that respond to different wavelengths. Each rod and cone contains two parts the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Yadav Dr. Nidhi Vats M.A. English (Final) Decoding Wolfgang Iser‟s Reading Process Theory through the Text of Mrs Dalloway and Bravely Fought the Queen In the 1960s, the new criticism theory in the American Literary arena focused on the reading of a literary text as an independent form and not to be studied in relation to any context. This gave birth to another theory that began majorly in 1960s and 1970s known as reader response criticism, which also tried to do away with the author‟s role and focused on the reader‟s perception that defined the text‟s subjectivity. In his work The Reading Process A Phenomenological Approach , Wolfgang Iser describes about the reading of a literary work or text as an interaction between the reader and the author. In order to understand a text in a better way and to explore its meaning, Louise Rosenblatt in his work Literature as Exploration described how the readers should be free from any preconceived notions about the proper way to react to any work (Lewis,C.S.,1961) to experience any work or text individually. Similarly, Iser also want the readers to make a niche for themselves while the aesthetic reading of a wok or a text. Wolfgang Iser‟s reading in reference to two works, namely, Mrs Dalloway by Virginia Woolf and Bravely Fought the Queen by Mahesh Dattani has been assessed in order to have a better understanding and a practical approach in exploration or understanding the meaning of the texts. Nyack (2007) questions what would happen if we were to see whiteness as more of an organizing principle. Critical Whiteness Studies (CWS), she explains, provides a radically different way to think about race and challenge whiteness as the universal norm. If, additionally, we think of whiteness as a social construct that includes white culture, ideology, racialization, experiences and emotions, we can understand that CWS focuses on problematizing the normality of hegemonic whiteness which has allowed whites to deflect, ignore or dismiss their role, racialization and privilege in race dynamics ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The study of whiteness as a problem has been an African American tradition going back to Frederick Douglass (Roediger, 2001). W.E.B. Giroux (1997) points to the work of Ralph Ellison and James Baldwin, often found in Black magazines throughout the 1960 1980 s, continuing to explore the concept of whiteness in the public forum. The CWS approach to understanding racism, not as the fault of the oppressed, but instead directing the focus toward the racially dominant, was continued by non white scholars including Toni Morrison and bell hooks in the early 1990 s (Howard, 2004). In the late 1980 s, interest in critically examining whiteness grew, inspired by Critical Race Theory. Women are often not held up to the standard of a man in the business workforce, which leaves them with fewer position choices outside the norm. Most jobs that women have are not demanding upon the body and require little to no strength. The failure to understand adaptation by the government has caused many reforms in the past, but there are still many flaws in the hiring system that often leave women asking questions and puzzled by the bias decisions of men in charge of the management of positions. These optimization problems make it difficult to make delivery times more efficient and satisfactory to customers. To solve this problem, the company hires a team of engineers to build a high functioning online system. This system allows DoorDash to obtain and keep customers and therefore obtain more business. He didn t want to kill the elephant, but now that he held the rifle, he felt that the Burmese had the power and were forcing him along: Here was I, the white man with his gun, standing in front of the unarmed native crowd seemingly the leading actor of the piece; but in reality I was only an absurd puppet pushed to and fro by the will of those yellow faces behind... Problem Formulation And Scope Of Supply Chain Systems 1.3 Problem Formulation and Scope To describe and predict the behaviour of complex reverse supply chain systems, it is often necessary to use elaborate mathematical modelling. In the same manner, identification of the optimum operating conditions that will ensure improved supply chain performance usually renders the use of an optimisation technique essential. For the last decade, a variety of modelling research activities have been carried out to address the complex reverse supply chain optimisation problems. However, most of the research has focused mainly on operational and tactical planning problems which may not provide sufficient insight into the long term design and planning issues of reverse supply chains. Furthermore, a common limitation of most traditional approaches is the lack of incorporating quantitative environmental performance modelling. In this context, this study will focus on strategic reverse supply chain management aiming at determining the setup of economically viable and environmentally friendly reverse supply chain networks. 1.3.1 Research Questions The aims of this research have been translated into nine research questions which are presented as follows:  Question 1: What are the general characteristics of reverse supply chains from a logistics point of view? The immigration policy of the united states is very extensive and complicated. The immigration policy has been disputed by many, those who agree with it and those who do not agree with it. I for one disagree with the immigration policy ranging from Job displacement, all the way to the border security, even the Pathway to Citizenship. In 1924 the original priority of border control was to prevent terrorists and terrorists weapons, including weapons of mass destruction, from entering the United States, but due to the influx of many illegal aliens trying to escape to a new life, border control has changed their priorities. • 19. The Ethical Practices Of Managers And Co Workers Ethics is defined as the discipline dealing with what is good and bad and doing so with moral duty and obligation. The corporate perception of ethics often varies from the definition of the term which can cause an abundance of issues in the workplace. Interpretations range from what a person s feelings say are right or wrong, religious beliefs, law requirements, or just what is acceptable to society morals. Despite the varying translations of business ethics one thing that is undeniable is the huge positive or negative affect it has on a company s success. It is evident that people are influenced by those around them; celebrities, politics, peers, and superiors are just a few examples to claim. The ethical practices of managers and co workers are influential to the employees who work for and with them and should demonstrate the conduct which the company would like to be known for in the public eye because of the potential gains and competitive benefit of morally sound employees who are dedicated to the code of ethics their business enforces and promotes. Cause for concern is derived from the numerous reports of corporate scandal or fraud and the impact on society s view of businesses convicted or accused of such acts. In many of these cases said acts are carried out by numerous employees and even separate companies working together in discretion. • 20. The Summer People, By Shirley Jackson And Smoke Ghost By... QUESTION 3 The assertion that all works by weird fiction authors are simply ridiculous flights of fancy wholly detached from real world issues and problems is completely false. I could choose almost any example from our readings and pick out some sort of real world issue or important thing that I have learned from them. For the sake of time, however, I will focus on The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, The Summer People by Shirley Jackson and Smoke Ghost by Fritz Leiber. Each of these stories has succeeded in broadening my horizons and has taught me something important about the world in which we live. Weird fiction stories cover a wide range of important issues including sexism, the social structure of tourist towns and the disparity of the working class. In the introduction to the book Weird Fiction by S. T. Joshi, different aspects of the weird tale are examined. Joshi states that the weird tale...did not (and perhaps does not now) exist as a genre but as the consequence of a world view (1). This quote refers to the fact that weird literature stems from a desire to display a certain view of the world to readers, not just take them on a flight of detached fancy. Another point that Joshi makes about weird literature, is seen through a quote on the last page of his introduction, In every case we shall see that each writers entire output is a philosophical unity, changing as the author s conception of the world changes ... • 21. Wuthering Heights And Thrushcross Knighte Analysis Is Wuthering Heights as nice a place as Thrushcross Grange? (Brontë 329). That seems to be the question quickly answered in the start of the novel, Wuthering Heights, by Emily Brontë, and the answer is very clearly: No. In Wuthering Heights, contrast between the two main and unique places, Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange, helps to define and separate the lifestyles of the main characters. Wuthering Heights is distinctively more dark and chaotic and is full of troubles that make it seem a much darker place, while Thrushcross Grange is a brighter and more peaceful house. Brontë is able to use the two contrasting places to help support the drastically different character personalities, whether it be troublesome Catherine or her peaceful and calmer husband, Edgar. The use of the drastically different places, Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange, are vital to the novel because they offer contrast in the physical houses and define the people living in them and are meaningful to the novel by providing a deep and drastic connection to each place for the reader to separate and understand the characters thoroughly. The difference between Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange is literally like night and day in the sense of drastic environmental differences that lead to a vivid contrast between the two places. As Lockwood first comes upon Wuthering Heights, he was greeted by the dark contrast from the surrounding town of Gimmerton. Wuthering Heights is notably ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 22. Importance Of Teaching And Learning Approaches ADAPT TEACHING AND LEARNING APPROACHES AND RESOURCES, INCLUDING TECHNOLOGIES TO MEET THE INDIVIDUAL NEEDS OF LEARNERS. UNIT 2, 5.6 LITERATURE REVIEW Agreeing with Littlemore and Oakey (2004), we founds that teachers are sometimes overwhelmed by the technology and do not seriously think about how it might be usefully applied (Davies, 2009). Indeed, language learning and teaching approach should be pedagogy driven and learning based, which is more rigid and emphasises on the needs of learners with the aid of technology resource and tools. Contrarily, technology driven approach which attempts to formulate a pedagogy based on the cutting edge advantages of a new device, should be abandoned. If a language teaching or learning project is driven by the fashionable technology, it might pose the danger to the learners as well as the teachers disappearing over the horizon of SLA pedagogy. Number of research reveal that learners dislike reading large amount of text on the screen, such as Wiki, and they often prefer to print out the documents for reading. For instance, Boulton s (2005) paper indicated that less than 20% of his students are happy with on screen reading. Anderson (2003) reports that metacognitive online reading strategies plays important role in online L2 reading. Despite of input issue, barrier of producing written output using ICT tools has also been noticed. Mishan (2004) points out that it might sometimes be challenging for learners to compose on screen. Assess the Strengths and Weaknesses of the Psychodynamic approach to understanding personality The psychodynamic approach was proposed by Freud. This approach towards personality is based on the notion of underlying forces such as the id, ego and superego which are either present from birth or develop during childhood shape our behaviour and personality as such. Experiences in childhood are proposed to be the basis of human personality, according to Freud and as such Psychodynamic theory proposes that some undesirable unbalances between the id and superego can create the arising of ego defence mechanisms which explain individual differences in behaviour. Another strength of the psychodynamic approach to personality is that it has provided a valuable insight into how early experiences or relationships can affect our adult personality. One of the examples of this is that fixations can be causes during even the earliest few months of childhood, such as the oral stage in psychosexual development, this can be caused by separation from the caregiver too early or having feeding difficulties. These fixations can then lead to psychological problems in personality centred around eating or drinking. Jacobs et al (1966) used the Rorschach inkblots to compare the orality of smokers and non smokers, finding that smokers emerged as being significantly more oral. On this note, the psychodynamic theory also provided psychological treatments which are still widely used today in therapy for personality disorders. These two treatments in psychodynamic theory are the Rorschach inkblot test and assessment/analysis of dreams. In the Rorschach test the subjects perceptions of inkblots are recorded and then analysed using psychological interpretation, complex scientifically derived algorithms or both. He has become personally involved with creating a community that he wishes to continue to see flourish; even if his choice dictates that he has to leave in order to succeed. Wade Hatton, (Errol Flynn) in Dodge City, is a much more extroverted hero than Shane, and has greater plans to reform the town than merely just driving out the criminal element. Hatton s entry to the film is also much more grand. He is a soldier of fortune transplanted to the American frontier. (Abel 18). This alone creates the illusion of Hatton being a much more romantic hero and having greater plans than merely just wanting to build a community. He wishes to clean out the wickedness and lawlessness that Dodge City has become. To do this, he introduces sweeping reforms that not only remove the criminal element, but also set a moral tone for the community. This establishes him as a community leader who is willing to do whatever is necessary to curb the violence and death that has stricken the town. He even arrests his friend Rusty (Alan Hart) for carrying a gun to prove that no one is above the law. Although your strengths can be visible at times, there can be some signs of weakness present in your life. Although they may not obvious to you, they can be obvious to others. Strength and weakness can be present during the story through physical, mental, or emotional challenges, but how can you understand of they are either weak or strong? To understand this, you ll need to know what the setting is. If you have read the story, you should know that this book took place during the 1930s, in the middle of the great depression. Something as small as calling someone gay because they identify themselves as homosexual, could emotionally traumatize them. Examples of these issues are LGBTQ+ working in a labour intensive employment, and is treated as weak or unfit for the position, thus being looked down upon. For centuries, people follow the stereotype that people of a different gender or sexual identity are looked down upon and considered outliers of the society. Our group will go in depth and demonstrate examples of discrimination against LGBTQ+ in the workforce, by first analyzing the root of this problem. A few questions that we will evaluating are: if people dislike LGBTQ+ in the workforce because they are homosexuals, or because they are lacking in skill, education, experience etc. Second question that ties with the root of the issue is to find out why majority of people discriminate individuals that identify as LGBTQ+ homosexuals. Lastly, our group will be explaining different point of views of this issue. We will be using a variety of frameworks that we have learned in class such as viewing the social problem with a Neoliberal, Neoconservative and transformative outlook to analyze the social problem. Topics that we can analyze using these frameworks, include who is at fault or who is to blame within the social problem, how each framework would try to resolve the social problem, and what are some things that each framework can do ...
