Essay On Jawaharlal Nehru
Writing an essay on Jawaharlal Nehru can be both challenging and rewarding. On one hand, the
task requires a deep understanding of Nehru's life, political career, and contributions to the
Indian independence movement. On the other hand, it demands the ability to articulate thoughts
coherently and present a well-structured essay that captures the essence of Nehru's legacy.
Researching Nehru's life involves delving into historical records, biographies, and speeches to
gain a comprehensive understanding of his multifaceted personality. It requires sifting through
vast amounts of information to select relevant details that highlight his role in shaping modern
India.
Crafting the essay itself is a task that necessitates careful planning. Organizing ideas
chronologically or thematically, and maintaining a logical flow of information, is crucial to
ensure that the reader can follow the narrative without confusion. Balancing historical facts with
insightful analysis adds another layer of complexity to the writing process.
Furthermore, the essay must be written in a manner that engages the reader and conveys the
significance of Nehru's impact on the nation. This involves choosing the right tone and language,
and incorporating quotes or anecdotes that bring his persona to life on paper.
While the difficulty lies in the extensive research, meticulous organization, and the need for
expressive and coherent writing, the process is also an opportunity to delve deep into history and
develop a nuanced understanding of a significant figure.
In conclusion, crafting an essay on Jawaharlal Nehru is a demanding task that requires a blend of
historical research, analytical thinking, and effective communication skills. The challenge is not
merely to compile information but to present it in a compelling and insightful way, honoring the
legacy of a key figure in Indian history.

Analysis of Welcome to the New Town Manager by Mary Jane Kuffner Hirt
After reading the case study Welcome to the new town manager, by Mary Jane
Kuffner Hirt, I established three major problems the community of Opportunity
needed to correct. These problems involved the water sewer system, the balancing
budget, the pay as you go method. The city manager, Jennifer Holbrook, must
implement strategies that would correct these problems quickly.
If I were Holbrook my initial goal would be to correct the water and sanitary sewer
systems problem. I believe it is the community responsibility to pay for the up keep
and maintenance of the two facilities, because it is the community who is reaping the
benefits of these facilities. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I feel this proposed revenue fee would make utilities more self sufficient.
My second goal would be to correct the budget balancing problems. The budget
debt each year is approximately 200,00 to 300,000. To solve this problem, I would
make three more adjustments in the budget expenditures. The adjustments would
approximately total 250,000. I chose 250,000 because it is the average of 200,000
300,000. My first adjustment would go towards the capital program expenditure.
Since I previously include the sewer and water system capital program expenditure
into the revenue fee, I could deduct these two services from the capital program
expenditure total. Doing this would reduce the capital program expenditure from
538,630 per year to 379,350 per year, leaving the budget with a 159,280 per year
savings. The second adjustment would go toward public safety. I would
immediately hire a new police officer, because of the police s staff shortage. I think
it is a necessity to have enough officers to maintain all shifts. Hiring more officers
would help keep the streets of Opportunity safe. This is important because of the
community s profile. Opportunity consists of mostly above average socioeconomic
people and elderly people. I could see the crime rate rising in the future, due to the
lack of police officers. On the other hand, I would alleviate the ideal of hiring a
technician. I feel hiring a contractor on needed bases is sufficient. Why

a)What is the definition of a fossil? A fossil is well known as the remaning parts of
past life preserved in rock, soil or amber whose name has originated from the latin
word fossus meaning dug up . b)Identify three types of fossils and describe them,
giving examples i)Trace fossils are known as preserved evidence that have been left

animals. For example, when the animals leave their footprints behind, it creates an
impression in the soft mud, silt and sand. The soil then hardens into rock therefore
preserving a trace of the animal. These types of fossils capture the activities of
ancient animals. The animals leave its footprints or scat, which makes an impression

The Operation Management Approach To Total Quality
Management
Operation Management is the study of how people organize themselves for
productive enterprise .In order to be effective and efficient, an operation manager
must possess a series of attitudes and skills to push his/her company forward to reach
goals and objectives. Operation management consists of the four functions, that is,
planning, organizing ,controlling and leading. These functions help in the analysis of
the activities done by the organization.
Operation is also about creating goods and services and it is known as the
transformation process which turns a range of inputs into the desired output (services)
having the requisite quality level. Management is the process which makes the
combination and transformation of various resources used in the operations scheme
of the organization .If the same concept is extended to services management, then the

TQM does not prescribe a number of steps that must be followed in order to achieve
high quality but rather should be considered a framework within which organisations
can work.
3.1.2.Just In Time
William J. Stevenson, in Production/Operations Management, defines the term just in
time manufacturing as a repetitive production system in which processing and
movement of material and goods occurs just as they are needed, usually in small
batches (Stevenson, 1996). However, just in time (JIT) is more than an inventory
system. JIT manufacturing is a philosophy by which an organization seeks
continually to improve its products and processes by eliminating waste (Ptak, 1997)

Age-Related Macular Degeneration Leads to Severe Vision...
Age related macular degeneration also known as AMD is a disease leading to severe
vision and legal blindness in the elderly population. I will address the health condition
description and the disability and functional implications who suffer from this disease.
For the health condition description of age related macular degeneration I will discuss
the etiology, onset, prevalence rate, body systems, body structures, and associated
deficits that come and are associated with this disease. AMD is the degradation of the
cells at the center of the retina which is the layer of tissue at the back of the eye that
registers light. The macula is responsible for ventral vision, which enables us to
read, drive, participate in sports, and do anything else that requires focusing directly
ahead. Macular degeneration distorts the heart of the vision field (Macular
degeneration, 1998). Sunlight and smoking are both influences of the onset of
AMD (Age related Macular Degeneration (AMD), 2014). It is suggested to avoid
intense bright sunlight which may help reduce the retinal degeneration. Hats,
sunglasses and any other accessories that can help protect the eyes from the sun are
suggested. Cigarette smoking has also been linked to increasing the risk of
developing AMD and it is recommended that persons should stop smoking to
decrease their chance of developing AMD (Age related Macular Degeneration
(AMD), 2014). AMD does not develop until the sixth or seventh decade of life,
although early
The Voting Age In Voting
At first one may think that 16 and 17 year olds are just focused on dating, having
fun, and playing sports. Most would assume that they certainly aren t mature enough
or know enough about politics to vote. However, it is just the opposite, 16 and 17
year olds are in fact very qualified to vote and they care about politics. The votingage
should be lowered to allow 16 and 17 year olds to vote. 16 and 17 year olds are just
as capable as adults in voting, letting them vote would positively affect the voting
field in numerous ways, and they are faced many responsibilities similar to adults .
16 and 17 year olds are just as qualified to vote as adults are. According to the
federal Voting Rights Act of 1965, a 6th grade education is all that is required for an
adult to vote (National Youth Rights). The majority of 16 and 17 year olds have
completed more than a 6th grade level of education, so they certainly fit the
education standards required for voting. Not only do 16 and 17 year olds tend to
be more educated than 6th graders, it is also shown through research that a 16
year old has the same degree of civic knowledge as a 21 year old and that 16 and 17
year olds poses a high enough intellectual level and maturity level to vote like
adults (Vote16USA). Youth are also getting smarter. A study conducted by Professor
James Flynn shows that IQ scores have gone up in youth. A child who was scored
in the top 3% on an IQ test in 1932, would score in the top 25% on the same test today

Poetry And Yeats Poetry
Six brief responses 1. Nick Mansfield s Introduction talks about subjective and anti
subjective approaches to the subject. What do these terms mean He has not, in his
book, just decided to see this most urgent of talks for advanced society as entropic
and indistinct. For sure, his contention is that the speculations of the subject that have
ruled open deliberation in the field of abstract/social hypothesis and studies fall into
two wide camps. Obviously, the kind of schematic treatment that takes after won t

A discussion is made on the development of poetic voice and subject in his writing.
A broad development of Yeats poetic form, style and technique will discuss in two
periods and the influence of these two periods on his themes, context and subject.
These points will discuss with the help of some selected poems from his poetry.
After providing an analysis, I will draw appropriate conclusion. W.B Yeats was
born on 13 June 1865 in Dublin. His family was lived with a changed life form
Victorian to Modernist era. Yeats lived in London with his family until the age of
sixteen. This time was difficult for his family because his mother was lived far
away from her home country, the Ireland. Thus in his poetry, Yeats presented strong
sense of Irish patriotism. Yeats returned back to Ireland in 1881 and here he
enrolled in Dublin based Metropolitan School of Art. After spending five years in
this school, he was developed a fascination with literature. The first published poem
by Yeats was in 1885 in the Dublin University Review and formed the Dublin Lodge

Catecholamines and Cortisol Help to Fight Stress
When stress occurs, our bodies respond by releasing hormones that help our bodies
deal with the stress. Catecholamines (epinephrine and norepinephrine) and cortisol
are hormones that are major players in the stress response (McCance Huether, 2010).
Catecholamines share some common physiologic actions with cortisol.
Catecholamines and its metabolic actions are similar to those of cortisol. Both
catecholamines and cortisol cause an increase in blood glucose through increased
gluconeogenesis (McCance Huether, 2010). Gluconeogenesis is the production of
glucose when the activation of certain enzymes occur (McCance Huether, 2010).
Both epinephrine and cortisol also cause an increase in blood glucose by preventing
cells in the body from the uptake of glucose and decreasing the effects of insulin
(Judd, n.d.). Catecholamines and cortisol both cause an increase in cardiac output
and an increase in blood pressure as well (McCance Huether, 2010). Catecholamines
do this by enhancing myocardial contractility, increasing heart rate, and increasing the
blood (venous) returning to the heart (McCance Huether, 2010). Cortisol aids in this
effect by increasing the amount of receptors that epinephrine and norepinephrine can
attach to (Judd, n.d.). Cortisol and catecholamines both cause lipolysis is some areas
of the body. This occurs in the extremities with cortisol, but most areas of the body
with catecholamines (McCance Huether, 2010). Strangely enough, both
Fascism Vs Fascism
Plato once wrote, The heaviest penalty for declining to rule is to be ruled by
someone inferior to yourself . It would be impossible for him to guess this quote
would be taken very literally among ruler after ruler in history. Unfortunately, not
every person who took this piece seriously was the best choice in leadership. Adolf
Hitlerof Germany and Benito Mussolini of Italy were leaders who used elements of
fascismin order to promote their vision of a new world. Although they both had
similarities in their regimes, they also had great differences in leading their country.
The term fascist is thrown around in politics and heated debates without much
respect for how heavy the term truly is. Before diving into the different extents to
which fascism was carried out in Italy and Germany, it is important to take a
moment and discuss what the term is. According to Merriam Webster dictionary,
fascism is a, political philosophy, movement, or regime... that exalts nation and
often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic
government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social
regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition , as well as, a tendency
toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control . With such a
harsh definition, some would believe it would be simple to create a framework for
all fascist dictators, yet that could not be further from the truth. Although it may be
difficult to define fascism to a

Mullins was recognized as a full graduate of the seminary. In 1898, the seminary was

Expression.
Mullins was concerned that Baptists were known more for what they reject
(ecclesiastical hierarchies, infant baptism, interdenominational union, etc.) rather than
the fundamentals of the Baptists faith. The Axioms were an attempt to explicate the
full meaning of the soul competency. Whereas, Christian theism is the only possible
philosophy for man who accepts the fundamentals principle of the soul s competency,
for it asserts God s ability to communicate a revelation to man and man s capability
to receive it and to communicate with God. Every significant movement of our day
is one form another man s purpose to make his way back to God. (p.74). The six
Axioms of religion:
The theological axiom: The holy and loving God has a right to be sovereign.
The religious axiom: All souls have an equal right to direct access to God.
The ecclesiastical axiom: All believers have a right to equal privileges in the church.
The moral axiom: To be responsible, man must be free.
The religio civic axiom: A free church in a free state.
The social axiom: Love your neighbor as yourself.
Mullins states, many of the essential and fundamental things of the gospel, indicate
there are at least theological agreement. He further states, Baptist are the best example
to Christianity, because they have consistently carry out these principles in their life

The Beauty Myth Naomi Wolf Analysis
The Beauty Myth s central argument is the growing standards of physical beauty of
women as they grow stronger. This standard has affected women in many ways, such
as in the workplace, culture, and religion. The standard has taken over the work of
social harassment. The beauty myth expands the belief an unbiased measurement of
beauty exists and that women want to express it and men would want that women.
The author, Naomi Wolf, states that the beauty mythis not about women themselves, it
is about the power of men and their society. The myth supplies power to multibillion
dollar cosmetics industries and it keeps women from rising too high in the workplace.
Within this book, Wolf shows how the beauty myth functions and affects women in
the workplace, media, sex, religion, culture, violence against women by men, and by
women themselves in the configuration of cosmetic surgery and eating disorders.
First, Naomi Wolf uses many techniques and supports her argument using numerous
amounts of evidence in The Beauty Myth. In particular, Wolf uses rhetoric techniques
to persuade the readers to become a supporter of her... Show more content on

Argumentative Speech About Basketball
Today Chris Herren is an inspiration to people who might be fighting some type of
illness or addiction. Going back 20 plus years ago, Herren was a basketball
prodigy from Fall River, Mass., who had the weight of the world on his shoulders.
He had the attention of the national and local Massachusetts media surrounding his
game. Looking back at everything, it seemed like a lot for someone to deal with at
such a young age. Although a five star prospect on the court, Herren secretly
battled an illness off of it: addiction. This would take him to the lowest of lows and
hit him and his family harder than anything imaginable. Now a motivational
speaker delivering his message of staying clean, Herren spoke about his heights as
a basketball player and struggling with drug dependence while trying to keep his
basketball career intact and family together. Damian Strohmeyer /Sports Illustrated
/Getty Images In New York, basketball is king. The same can be said for Fall
River, Mass. What was life like growing up? It s a tough blue collar, basketball
community; basketball is the heartbeat to the city. I was fortunate enough to grow
up in a culture where there was a lot of attention and respect for the game of
basketball based on tradition. You come from a family of athletes. Your brother and
even your grandfather were great athletes. Did you feel any pressure growing up in
the shadow of your brother Mike? Of course, there was always pressure. My brother
was basically a trailblazer.

Comparing The Magician s Nephew By C. S. Lewis
The Magician s Nephew is the first book in the Chronicles of Narnia series, which
is written by Clive Staples Lewis, or C.S. Lewis. This book is all about the creation
of Narnia. C.S. Lewis was a Christian author, and many of his books are somewhat
religious. In The Magician s Nephew, there is a character named Aslan. Aslan is a
lion that created Narnia. Lewis intended for Aslan to basically be God to the
creatures of Narnia. There is much to summarize about this tremendous book, but I
will only speak about comparing and contrasting God and Aslan.
How are they similar? Both Aslan and God created worlds, which means that they
both rule their worlds as well. Aslan and God formed the worlds by speaking.
Aslan sang the world into existence (Lewis, 112), while God spoke the world into
being (Genesis, 1). Though no one was there when God said His words, so maybe
He sang them just like Aslan, but nobody will ever know. They also both appointed
a man and a woman as the king and queen of Narnia. Aslan appointed the Cabby
and his Wife (Lewis, 151), while God equipped Adam and Eve with the tools they
needed to be Earth s rulers (Genesis, 1). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While God and Aslan both created places, they were of different size. Aslan
created a country that was already on a planet, (Lewis, 112) whereas God created a
planet, (Genesis, 1) in which people could found countries. There was also a
difference in the kings and queens they selected. God created Adam and Eve,
(Genesis, 1) but the Cabby was already in Narnia (Lewis, 151). Aslan just fetched
the Cabby s wife for him (150). After Aslan had created Narnia, He called to order a
meeting with some of the animals. He told them that evil had already entered the
world, and that they must be aware (124). God just commanded Adam and Eve not to
eat from a tree in the center of the Garden (Genesis,
The Economic Problem of Population Ageing Essay
In the contemporary world, the economic problem of population ageing caused is
revealing gradually. UNESCO provides a standard that a single country or region in
the population over 60 years is more than 10% of the total population, which is into
the aging of the population. Both of developed and developing countries in recent
years have to face more serious agingimpacts for economic progress. According to
population prospects (2009), the whole world will accelerate the pace of ageingafter
2010. More precisely, share of elderly people is 22% in rich countries and 8% in
poorer countries, whereas these figures will rise to 33% and 20%, respectively. Why
does aging become a problem? The U.S. Census study points out that the worldwide

Consequently, in serious countries, some jobs will lack of employees to carry out.
Secondly, in order to promptly resolve the shortage of labour caused by ageing, many
countries have extended the time of retirement of the elderly. To illustrate, China
plans to start gradually raise the retirement age from 60 to 65 from 2010. However,
this approach may give rise to many controversies. Provided that the retire time to
be late, civil servants will support this resolution. As a consequence, a number of
university graduates will more difficult to find a job, and some laid off workers will
face delayed pensions; therefore, that government need to consider a wide ranges of
citizen interests.
Lastly, Skirbekk of the International Institute (The Economist, 2009, p.10),
researched the relationship between age and personal productivity, reached that
productivity in various job descends gradually in middle age. As a common sense,
when people reach middle age, health and intelligence will begin to decline; thus the
production efficiency of the elderly will not be better than young. Particularly, in the
use of high tech skills, the old usually lose young; thus employers may think that the
elderly will affect the productivity of workers. The Economist (2009 , p10) put
forward a solution that let active young and experienced old man work together

Abstract Research has shown that nursing implications have an impact on breast
feeding and bottle feeding; the main three aspects that allow nurses to have an
impact are teaching, collaboration, and support. Under these three sections there
will be discussion about the benefits and the risk of Brest/bottle feeding, ho
teaching promotes understanding, how the community supports and specialist help
with the promotion of breast feeding, and how nurses can use the social
determinates of health to promote the well being of there clients. Breast feeding
versus bottle feeding In the paper I will be disscussing breast feeding / bottle
feeding, and the implications towards nursing practice. As nurses there is three main
things that we can do to help mothers with, the teaching aspect towards breast
feeding vs bottle feeding, the collaboration aspect, and also the support needed to
continue breast feeding. The purpose of this paper is to identify the stigmas
attached to breast feeding, to view the family beliefs, to see the effects of family

The Russian Revolution Of 1905
The Russian Revolution of 1905 comes as the late tsarism period. Some of the
major causes to the Russian revolution were caused by long term and short term
effects. Some of these major effects were Russia s rapid industrialization and
modernization which had inherent problems. The rise of capitalism led to an
increase of inequality between the classes. In addition, the mistakes of the Russo
Japanese war emerged upon the boundaries of the Russian political climate. These
series of revolutionary events led to the Tsar of Russiato issue the October Manifesto.
In the October Manifesto, the Tsar conceded powers including the creation of the
Duma, which was a Russian parliament. In this idea, the Duma could pass or reject
all laws proposed by the Tsar. However, the Tsar composed the right to remove and
reestablish the Duma whenever he saw fit, which only caused anger to the people as

The 1905 Russian Revolution was caused by contributory factors such as the long
term and short term problems in Russia. Some long term effects were the growth of
the reformist groups like the social democrats the social revolutionaries and other
liberal groups that had formed around that time. Another long term effect was the
instability of Russia autocratic rule and repression which were characterized in the
reigns of Alexander the III and also in the reign of Nicholas II. However, 1905 is
characterized by two primary short term effects which is the development of the
Honor English 10 Essay
I am interested in taking Honors English 10 because, I thoroughly enjoy reading in
my free time and English is my favorite subject. I have a strong passion for writing
and I would like to continue my writing at a more rigorous level. Reading and
writing are both very significant to me and I believe Honors English 10 will help
me explore both of these interests more in depth. I find it important to be challenged
and I would very much enjoy being a part of the Honors English program. Knowing
that the Honors program entails a heavier and harder workload, I would manage this
by completing assignments when assigned, rather than right before the due date. To
ensure a lack of procrastination, I would make sure to always record assignments in

Wise Tips Dating Single Moms Need to Know Before Introducing the Kids to the
New Guy
Dating when you have children can be very exasperating. You don t only think
about how to go on with the date, you also think about what is going to be good for
the children. After all, it is no longer just about you and him alone. It s also whether
or not the kids will be cool enough to like your guy and vice versa. It is often worth
any single parent s trouble to note what it is their children might be thinking about the
entire dating process. But it is also not to say that a single parent should just put any
hopes for a real romantic date to rest. At any rate, the idea of meeting someone else
should not be crippled by the fact that you have had kids who ... Show more content

Slow down and do not make the mistake of forcing it out on the children. It is better
to take it slow and be successful later than to make haste and fail afterwards.
2. Reassure your children.
It is important to stress out to the children that they will only have one mom and
one dad. No one needs to replace anyone. This creates a win win situation for
everyone. The children will slowly understand the role your new boyfriend will
play in their lives and it should not include replacing their daddy. It is good enough
if your children like your new boyfriend so much to even recognize him as their step
dad and starts calling him daddy . That s not so bad if that is what you want to achieve
at the end of the day. But you might want to avoid further hassle by confusing your
child eventually when things do not go in that direction. Just reassure your children
about having one mom and one dad.
3. Do not expect.
Consider this rule of thumb. You can t force anyone to like anyone. Asking your
children to be nice or to like someone is definitely going to spoil everything you have
planned in mind. Allow everyone to meet and form their own opinions.
4. Come in groups.
You might want to avoid going for uptight and formal meetings. This could
potentially dismantle any positive vibe that could exist if you go for friendly and
less formal scenarios. Try some gimmicks like having some BBQ party or a pool
party. Introduce him as a friend and give the children the chance
Detriment Of Illusions In The Tempest
Illusions are one of those things that will allow the human brain to play tricks on
them and giving them the ability to see things that aren t really there. Illusions can
be detriment s. The reason for this is that you can believe that something is real but
little do you know, the whole thing is imaginary or just a simple trick on your mind.
For instance, say that you are craving some chocolate chip cookies. You want the
cookies so bad to the point that you imagine that the cookies are in front of your
face even though they are not really there. Things like that can cause you to crave
the cookies more and more as long as you are sitting there and thinking about them.
Examples like that show you exactly why illusions are detriment s instead of being

Prospero is a sorcerer who practices white magic that is not affiliated with black
magic and evil. There was an incident in Act III, Scene III where Alonso, Sebastian,
Antonio and Gonzalo gathered around the dinner table to sit down for dinner and
during this point a possession of spirits enter the room with a banquet of food.
Prospero is the last one to enter the room but he is invisible and no one sees him.
Just as they prepare to eat, Ariel enters the room and makes the food disappear with
a laugh. The food that they were going to eat can be perceived as either real or fake
but due to the fact that sorcerers were near that will something they will never
Tally In Pretties By Scott Westerfeld
The second book in the Uglies trilogy by Scott Westerfeld, Pretties, is about a girl
named Tally Youngblood, who is the main character throughout all the books. Tally
is a sixteen year old who has just undergone the operation that changed her from an
Ugly to a Pretty. Tally has become a member of the most popular group in New
Pretty Town, the Crims. After attending a costume party, she discovers that she gave
her consent to take an untested drug made by one of the leaders of New Smoke, a
group that lives outside of the cities, in order to heal the lesions in her brain left by
the operation. Tally and her friend Zane find the hidden

peaks and valleys of the Bank s ROE over the course of the previous five years.
Figure 13 shows the upward momentum of the Bank s ROE from 2011 through
2014 with a downturn in 2015. The 2015 downturn is contributed to the overhead
costs of the bank acquisition activity. Expect to see an uptick at year end due to
recoveries gained from the acquisitions. The 9/30/2015 UBPR reports the Bank s
securities to assets represent 11.10%, compared to peers at 18.50%. The Bank s
securities to assets have been consistent over the previous five years. The portfolio is
mostly made up of 4.30% US Treasury and Agency Securities, 38.50% Municipal

rate risk and as a result, the Bank s yields have remained high. Figure 14 reflects the
banks exceptional returns on its securities portfolio at 2.78% which is higher than all
peer group members. FirstBank s efficiency ratio has remained one of its Achilles
heels. Efficiency ratio is a large focus at management level and steadily dropped
from $76.77% in 2011 to 68.25% in 2014. The Bank experienced an increase to
73.91% in 2015 due to bank acquisition activity, adding staff and cost of funds.
However, the Bank expects staffing to level out and cost of funds to decrease due to
FHLB payoffs. The Bank s current key strengths are strong loan growth, the local

Arguments Against Expansion Of Whaling
Another argument against the expansion of whaling involves the morality and ethical
aspects of killing whales. Currently, explosive harpoons tipped with a 30 g penthrite
grenade are used by Norwegian and Icelandic whaling fleets as the primary
mechanism of causing lethal trauma (Knudsen and Oen 2003). If there is any
question whether the harpoon delivered a lethal blow, rifles chambered in .375 or
.458 are fired at the cranium. Average time to death in minke whales in the North
Atlantic was calculated at 141 seconds with a maximum time to death of 90 minutes
(Simmonds 2006). Conservationists consider even the average time to death too long
to be considered humane. Another point anti whalinggroups bring up is the high
degree of intelligence... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They feel that the IWC has become a conservation organization, where it was
originally meant to be a regulatory agency for whaling (Schweder 2001). There
have been accusations of the commission being purposely uncertain of the status of
whales to keep the moratorium in effect, when in reality we know enough to open a
sustainable fishery (Schweder 2001). There have been studies on both fin and minke
whales indicating that a fishery would be sustainable. Fin whales populations off
Iceland appear to be increasing at 4% per year, and minke populations off both
Iceland and Norway appear to be stable, though it should be noted that the IWC
indicates that fin whale populations in the northeast Atlantic haven t been
thoroughly assessed (Borchers et al. 2009, Vikingsson et al. 2009). The Marine
Research Institute of Iceland has calculated that up to 150 fin whales and 400
minke whales can be sustainably harvested per year (Icelandic Fisheries 2014).
Because fin whale populations are stable around Iceland, the government does not
consider their IUCN listing as endangered relevant to their hunting status. A 1998
modeling study on minke whales in Norway showed potential population growth
from 63,033 in 1995 to 70,733 in 2010 if 600 whales were taken every year
(Bjorndal and Conrad 1998). Though Norway has increased their quota to 1,286, the
number of minkes killed in a given year has not exceeded 600 individuals (IWC
2014). These potential harvest numbers are considered conservative, since the
sighting methods used to estimate abundance were also conservative in nature.
Neither Iceland nor Norway has exceeded their self imposed annual quotas since the
quotas inception (IWC

would affect JNJ is GDP. As shown above GDP in the United States is decreasing

Keeping up with the newest technology would make research and development much
more productive and efficient and would give JNJ better opportunities to come up
with newer, healthier, and more useful products. Not only would it help research and
development, but technology innovations can help with operations and even with
control factors over the company. There are many different forces that JNJ needs to
be aware of. They need to be able to take full advantage of the opportunities and
prepare for the threats to maximize competitive advantage knowing the different
trends. Potential development of substitute products Competitive Analysis Porter s
Five Force Model Rivalry among competing firms Bargaining power of suppliers
Bargaining power of consumers Potential entry of new competitors Potential
development of substitute products The existence of products outside of the realm of
the common product boundaries increases the propensity of customers to switch to
alternatives. Since pharmaceutical and medical devices are necessary for the
maintenance of good health, a significant decrease in use is not likely. The largest
threat of substitutes comes from generic pharmaceuticals. Once a drug loses patent
protection, associated revenue usually rapidly falls. One way to mitigate the effect of
generic drugs would be to develop more compounds with lower sales, perhaps by
targeting more precise conditions. A similar threat of substitutes is
The Levels Of Intelligence As A Woman And Man
For decades, women had been oppressed not only socially, but degraded intellectually
as well. Men had always been the superior race, the one in charge and often made up
of more intellectual abilities. However, in prehistoric times women were not given a
chance to even demonstrate their intelligence. Today, in the world of feminism,
scientist battle to discover the truth behind intellectual abilities. They present
questions like: Is intelligencean innate concept in which women will not be able to
meet geniuslevels like men, or is it based on the norms of society imposing gender
roles? This essay explores the levels of intelligence in a woman and man. Moreover,
I will analyze enculturation factors, as well as social determination to ultimately
determine if men are smarter than woman. Or if it s all just a myth.
Sex Determination and Differentiations The nature versus nurture debate has been
going on for decades; however, when gender inequality of intelligence is approached,
innate processes do not seem to vary much between men and women. Intelligence is
defined in many different ways such as terms of one s capacity for logic, abstract
thought, understanding, self awareness, communication, learning, emotional
knowledge, memory, planning, creativity, and problem solving (Neisser).
Behaviorists tend to approach intelligence as the product of environments; while
nativist s imply that intelligence is an ancient battle whose origin hides deep in our
genes. Firstly, I would

IV.Testing
The testing phase of the ERP implementation system is the final step before the
system going live . The Testing phase, which may not be an actual distinct phase
since there are incidences in which it is partly covered in the development stage,
comprises finding out if all the business needs identified by the teams are now
functional in the new system (Wang, Chialinlin, Jiang Klein, 2007). The objective of
the Testing phase of the ERP implementation is to define if all the set business needs
and end goals have been met by the system, to fine tune the necessary last minute
configurations and finally establish the friendly end user proficiency with the system
(Lech, 2016).
Therefore, the major purpose of the user acceptance testing is to establish whether the
target end users are now in agreement with the
The Role Of Female Characters In Scarlet Pimpernel
Actress Rebecca Hall once complained, It s not often you get female characters
who don t fit into a box. What she is saying is that often in a lot of cases readers
will receive a female lead who is nothing but predictable and stereotypical. The
female often gives off essential qualities of a cartoon or princess like damsel in
distress. When it comes to classical literature, female characters have predictable
nature. In Scarlet Pimpernel, the women carry charismatic personalities and
feelings that definitely do not fit in a box . Marguerite Blakeney can be quite
ruthless at times. When someone is displeasing towards her or something doesn t
go her way she becomes uncivil. After the Countess rejected Marguerite by saying
Suzanne, I forbid you to speak to that woman (Orczy 11), the reader can tell by her
small actions after that she was bothered. As well as For the moment Marguerite s
sweet face had become as white as the soft fichu which swathed her throat, and a
very keen observer might have noted that the hand which held the tall, beribboned
stick was clenched, and trembled somewhat (Orczy 11). Her response was
insulting the Countess by saying Sir Andrew, did you ever see such an unpleasant
person? I hope when I grow old I sha n t look like that (Orczy 11). This was also
followed by Lady Blakeney mimicking the Countess, so the reader would think
Marguerite is ruthless because of her childish and impolite actions due to a minor
rejection. Obviously people going against her in any way is a great issue to her,
and imagine what she might have done if Suzanne (who was more relaxed in this
situation) had not convened with her. Imagine what other impolite or harsh
comments or actions she might have added. Nevertheless, this kind of behavior
should help the reader see how incredibly ruthless she is at times, however, Other
people may believe that she s quite kind and she just hides her feelings. Readers
would think Marguerite is kind due to her act of kindness towards a homeless man
by buying him a meal before entering The Fisherman s Rest (Orczy 9). While they
have a reasonable position, it s wrong because that single act of kindness was in
reality the only act of kindness she showed for the rest of the

Analysis Of The Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy
I have talked before about coming from a simple life. That could be a slight
understatement as I have never previously attended a ballet, and when the
question, Surely, you ve all heard of Tchaikovsky, right? was posed I struggled to
recognize the name or any significance to my life. It was not until I heard the
musical number of Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy that the gears of my mind
finally associated it with memory. While the first few notes of the celesta filled
the room with carefree delight, I was transported back to the cold, laminated floor
of my farmhouse bedroom. Sitting on the gaily colored rug in the middle of my
six feet by seven feet small expanse of space, I remember holding my china
ballerina/music box so gently. The object itself is about twenty inches tall. It is a
beautiful ballerina in a lavender tutu with matching slippers and a delicate crown
of flowers in her hair. The ballerina is perched upon a white cylinder, almost
reminiscent of a cake topper, that is embellished with glitter and flowers and all of
the pretty works. When the key is turned, the melody flows angelically through my
small room, and I feel as if I am not longer present instead, I am swept away to a
wonderous, snowy world with enchanting dancers. My only connection to
Tchaikovsky let alone The Nutcrackeris a ballerina figurine that I left back home. I
did not have a clue what to expect, but I could barely contain my excitement. Prior to
the concert, we had covered Tchaikovsky in

1768 Car History
When Nicolas Joseph Cugnot invented the first automobile in 1768 he had no idea
that it would grow to the magnitude in which it is today. The automotive industry has
been thriving for decades, raising the bar each year on luxury and car performance.
The first automobile was powered by steam; it would be nearly thirty years later
before the first internal combustion enginepowered automobilewas introduced.
Then in 1886 Karl Benz created the first gasoline powered vehicle. Although he went
through several prototypes of automobiles within his lifetime, he created the
foundation for the vehicles we drive today. His ingenuity paved the road for concepts
such as the electric car and the vehicles that burn fuel alternatives.
It is important that we recognize the achievements of those who paved the way for
the amazing automobiles that are designed today. Consider how vehicles have

Theology Of Repentance And The Old Covenant
Introduction of Theology of Repentance and Forgiveness
When studying the nature of God or theology, one ascertains what God does and
did for humanity. One of God s nature was a family and in His infinite wisdom, He
created humankind to be His family with an adoration to praise Him for the
wonderful acts He bestows. Strong shares, The aim of theology is the ascertainment of
the facts respecting God and the relations between God and the universe, and the
exhibition of these facts in their rational unity, as connected parts of a formulated and
organic system of truth. Additionally, there is the science that tries to unlock the
mysteries of God. However, science has its limitations to unlocking this mystery.

I was too upset to have a conversation with him and knew that if I did talk to him, I

agreement on how to resolve it. When reading the above scenario, repentance never
occurred from my friend. Although I forgave him for the remarks, and it was
several weeks until he finally repented or has remorse for making the comments,
however, the initial response was not repentance. Before I reconnected with my

important elements of successful negotiation (Prov. 14:8, 22). This is especially true
when significant issues or strong feelings are involved.

that I had other options when I would be confronted with the
Aboriginal Self Government
First Nations were self governing long before Europeans arrived in Canada. In 1876,
the Indian Act came into effect, dismantling traditional governance systems and on
aboriginal peoples lives. Today, the federal government recognizes that aboriginal
people have an inherent, constitutionally protected right to self government, a right to
manage their own affairs. Self government agreements are one means of building
sound governance and institutional capacity that allow Aboriginal communities to
contribute to, and participate in, the decisions that affect their lives and carry out
effective relationships with other governments (IANAC). Historically, Canadian
sovereignty depends on maintaining the relationship between Canadas indigenous

Nunavut was not included in a previous treaty, which created the opportunity for the
Inuit majority to lay their historical claim to their traditional territory (LГ©garГ©
2008, 343).While the principal motivation for the creation of Nunavut was the
preservation and revival of Inuit culture, its future is precariously balanced on a
complex array economic and social challenges. As of now, Nunavut is struggling to
gain greater political and economic autonomy within Canada. The Inuit look to
Nunavut as a doorway into a prosperous and more autonomous future, the paradox of
dependency raises questions about the ultimate success of Nunavut. As many Inuit
are quick to point out, the Resettlement Period, marked by central government
control, paternalism, and economic support, leaves a complicated and stubborn
legacy of dependency: Nunavut is the most fiscally dependent jurisdiction in Canada
and relies on federal funding as much as 90 percent . Resettlement created profound
reliance on government policies and support. While government support is vital to
the creation of a new territorial governance structure, true autonomy requires a stable
source of revenue that can emancipate the province from its overwhelming
dependence on federal transfers (Cameron and Campbell 2009, 211). Given this
dependence, there is a high skepticism of Nunavut s ability to meet its stated goals of

Huxley creates a dystopian world where everything appears to be perfect. A few

true happiness, freedom, emotion, and reality are robbed from the members. To

they are to perform tasks based off of their position. According to the Controller,
One believes things because one has been conditioned to believe them (Huxley,

Bovine Infertility
Bovine infertility is one of the major economic issues challenging the dairy industry
today. Currently in the United States, expenses stemming from dairy cow infertility
are estimated to exceed $350M per year. Several factors contribute to this problem,
including, anovulation, the inability to ovulate a fertilizable egg. Acknowledging that
the occurrence of ovulation is facilitated by the actions of the immune system, I m
hypothesizing that impairment of the immune system will alter the activity of
leukocytes, especially macrophage within the ovary. Additionally, Vascular

Analysis Of The Film Rain Man
Rain Man
The media portrays different exceptionalities within different movies. Cinema seems
to be one of, if not the most, viewed media resources today and has the largest
influence on how different exceptionalities are viewed. Autism spectrum disorder is
one of the main exceptionality portrayed in the movie industry. Rain Man established
a new standard for the realistic representation of autism. This breakthrough
Hollywood film is based on the real life story of Raymond Babbitt, played by Dustin
Hoffman. Hoffman s performance enabled his character to assert his presence with
the intensity which helped humanize not only his self centered brother Charlie,
played by Tom Cruise but also the audience. This allowed us to better understand
how individuals with autism perceive the world. This success of this file enabled
the use of this film as an assessment for measuring how succeeding depictions of
autism have changed or remained the same. There are two major aspects of the film
that may not have seemed troubling in 1988 when the film premiered but would be
found upsetting today as our knowledge of the spectrum disorder has gained strides.
In the film, Raymond is portrayed as an autistic savant ( one who combines certain
deficiencies in social interaction, language and sensory processing with extraordinary
abilities in math and memory ), which created an incorrect stereotype that all
individuals with autism are savant when, in fact, only around 10%

Starting in the year of 1215, when the rise of King John s new law system was put
into place, he, with the help of his barons, made sure no one, not even himself, was

surrounding towns and shires to his Parliament. These events helped found the
representative democracy we now use today. What was once a constitutional
monarchy with a king and queen deciding the rules of the land, is now a
Parliamentary democracy where there s one leader and all the people get a say in
the way it s run. The representative democracy is more modern than how it was run
in way back when. When the monarch ruled, a king and queen had power. This
power was inherited when a family member passes away and you re the one next
in line for the crown. Laws and decisions were made by the legislation and passed
by the monarch before being granted. Although this way of government preserved
culture and tradition as well as continuity, the monarch cannot be removed no matter
how poor their duties are and it also promotes class privilege ( this can push the idea

Pan Arabism Research Paper
Pan Arabism was a movement that reached its high point in the 60 s and 70 s that
called for the unification of countries from North Africa and Asia to create a national
Arabic identity. Although Pan Arabism was its own movement, it closely was tied
with Arab Nationalism, which basically wanted a unified Arab country with lesser
western political intervention. In this paper I will talk about what lead to Pan
Arabism and how it came to become an actual movement. I will also cover Arab
Nationalismbecause of its close relation to Pan Arabism. After I talk about Pan
Arabism, I will talk about the importance of Arabic language to the actual Arabic
identity and the efforts that are taken to prevent the downfall of this language. I will
also cover the Politics of the time period of Pan Arabism talking about Nasserisim
and the Bath Party. Lastly, and most Importantly, I will talk about unity in Pan
Arabism covering the United Arab Republic, the Islamist Arabic Union, Maghreb
Union, and many more. Basically, I will talk about what time frame these unions
were introduced, what caused them, what their intent was, and why they failed if they
did so. I also intend on presenting the case as to whether a true Arab identity exists
and what makes it up. Initially, what caused the movements of Pan Arabism and Arab
Nationalism to fail is inevitable political intervention of western nations. I also
believe that language and geographic positions were not enough for nations to unify.
That is what
Battle of Britain
The Luftwaffe Needs Lessons from the Brits:
An Investigation of Hitler s Defeat at the Battle of Britain
By: Jake Pilla
Global History II
11 28 07
In 1940, German planes flew over Britain in an attempt to take over the country and
tear apart the enemy s alliance. Britain was surprised by this attack, but countered by
shooting down at least twenty planes of the Luftwaffe, the Nazi air force, during the
initial attack. Hitler sent waves of planes into Britain every day, trying to lower
British morale; however, he did not expect Allied forces to send supplies to England.
United States and France sent planes to Britain, which were the most important factor
of the Battle of Britain. British used the powerful Royal Air Force to ... Show more

After Poland and France were conquered they lost a percentage of their incoming
supplies but, nevertheless, the United States sent even more. This allowed production
of multiple planes and gave Britain more time to devise plans for a counter attack.
The Royal Air Force had superior aircrafts, pilots, and training tactics, compared to
the Luftwaffe. The war in Europe started in early September 1939. Germany, Adolf
Hitler, took over Poland. Britain and France countered by declaring war on
Germany but did not take action for many months. In 1940, Germany attacked its
next target, Denmark, and Norway. Soon after they invaded and successfully took
over Belgium, the Netherlands, and France. All of these nations were conquered
because of the Blitzkrieg or lightning war, technique. In the summer of 1940,
Germany took Britain head on, this time from the air. The Battle of Britain turned
out to be Hitler s first military failure, as the Luftwaffe never could destroy the
powerful Royal Air Force. Britain was slightly surprise by the attack, but was ready
to fight in time. Germany tried to blockade Britain but the powerful Royal Navy
sunk German battleships and submarines. If Hitler could have pulled off a blockade
Britain would have been at a huge disadvantage, because they import a huge majority
of their supplies. Germany took to the air to
Web Gis Technology Using Gis Server
Web GIS Technology Using GIS Server
Abstract:
Web based mapping is the process of generating and providing maps on the World
Wide Web for users to search and browse spatial information. Web mapping has
been designed based on a client/server technology. In client/server architectures the
server side is in charge of the data querying, analysis and processing, whereas the
client side is based on the user interaction, map display and report generation. Web
services make it easy to share GIS resources across client applications, including
ArcGIS for Desktop, web mapping applications, mobile devices.
Key Words: GIS Server, Web Mapping, Geodatabase.
Introduction:
GIS resources are the maps, globes, address locators, geodatabases, and tools that
one wants to share with others. It can host GIS resources on ArcGIS for Server
system and allow client applications, such as web mapping applications and mobile
devices, to use and interact with the resources [1]. It is possible to create web
based services, providing maps for users to search and browse geographic
information [2]. ESRI s ArcGIS Server connects people with the geographic
information they need. Organizations use ArcGIS Server to distribute maps and other
GIS capabilities provided by web mapping applications and services to improve
internal workflows, communicate vital issues, and engage stakeholders [3]. WebGIS
is the integration product of GIS and Internet technologies. WebGIS differs from
Comfort Women In Ww2
World War II was a gruesome era filled with violence and death. Each country was in
a competition to find the deadliest weapons. War crimes were highly prevalent
throughout this time, such as the Holocaust, inhumane experimentations, and the
Japanese internment. One is often overlooked and barely spoken of: comfort women.
Comfort women were girls and women from Japanese territories coerce into sex
slavery for the Japanese military. The idea behind it was to prevent rape and to
reduce sexually transmitted diseases in the army; however, this came at the expense
of innocent women and girls. Women and girls were tricked or kidnapped to be
raped. They were forced into horrific living condition. While the living conditions
were horrible, the scars... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Chinese Comfort Women: Testimonies from Imperial Japan s Sex Slaves, Liu
Mianhuan, a former comfort woman, recalls, Several military men raped me that
day. ... From that day on, the Japanese troops raped me every day. Each day at least
five to six men would come... (7 8). Not only did they have to experience rape, but
also torture, starved, and forced to do labor.
For the comfort women, the hardest thing to do from their experience was to learn
to cope with the trauma if they had survived. According to the United Nations, Only
about 25 per cent of these women are said to have survived these daily abuses (39).
They have to live their lives anguished and ashamed for something they could not
control. They would hide the truth from their families. Many of these women
developed mental disorders, like post traumatic stress disorder. Other experienced
infertility or had a physical disability. The worst part of the aftermath is the Japanese
government refusing to acknowledge this has ever occurred. De Brouwer, an author,
has written, Until 1992, the Japanese government has denied any responsibility for
the sexual slavery system during World War II... (8). It has been noted that it is rarely
mentioned in history books. Rebuffing atonement to the remaining comfort women,
this strains the relationship between the Japanese government, the surviving comfort
women and the South Korean

the pool; an investor in a covered bond had recourse to the issuer, as well as a claim
that was secured by the mortgages.2
The mortgages collateralizing the covered bond were called the cover pool .
Covered bonds were typically structured so as to receive a rating of AAA or AA
from the major rating organizations
(AAA denoted instruments of the highest quality). One important difference between
covered bonds and MBS was that the set of mortgages securing the covered bond
were dynamic; in contrast, mortgages comprising a MBS remained static once the
security was issued. In the case of a covered bond, mortgages that experienced
delinquencies were generally substituted out of the pool, with performing mortgages
replacing them.
Just as the individual mortgages in the cover pool were dynamic, the total size of
the cover pool was dynamic as well. The amount of overcollateralization (i.e., the
extent to which the size of the cover pool would exceed the face value of the
covered bonds) would adjust dynamically depending on the financial health of the
issuer. Exhibit 6 shows how recently, as WaMu had been downgraded by the

  • 1. Essay On Jawaharlal Nehru Writing an essay on Jawaharlal Nehru can be both challenging and rewarding. On one hand, the task requires a deep understanding of Nehru's life, political career, and contributions to the Indian independence movement. On the other hand, it demands the ability to articulate thoughts coherently and present a well-structured essay that captures the essence of Nehru's legacy. Researching Nehru's life involves delving into historical records, biographies, and speeches to gain a comprehensive understanding of his multifaceted personality. It requires sifting through vast amounts of information to select relevant details that highlight his role in shaping modern India. Crafting the essay itself is a task that necessitates careful planning. Organizing ideas chronologically or thematically, and maintaining a logical flow of information, is crucial to ensure that the reader can follow the narrative without confusion. Balancing historical facts with insightful analysis adds another layer of complexity to the writing process. Furthermore, the essay must be written in a manner that engages the reader and conveys the significance of Nehru's impact on the nation. This involves choosing the right tone and language, and incorporating quotes or anecdotes that bring his persona to life on paper. While the difficulty lies in the extensive research, meticulous organization, and the need for expressive and coherent writing, the process is also an opportunity to delve deep into history and develop a nuanced understanding of a significant figure. In conclusion, crafting an essay on Jawaharlal Nehru is a demanding task that requires a blend of historical research, analytical thinking, and effective communication skills. The challenge is not merely to compile information but to present it in a compelling and insightful way, honoring the legacy of a key figure in Indian history. • 2. Analysis of Welcome to the New Town Manager by Mary Jane... Analysis of Welcome to the New Town Manager by Mary Jane Kuffner Hirt After reading the case study Welcome to the new town manager, by Mary Jane Kuffner Hirt, I established three major problems the community of Opportunity needed to correct. These problems involved the water sewer system, the balancing budget, the pay as you go method. The city manager, Jennifer Holbrook, must implement strategies that would correct these problems quickly. If I were Holbrook my initial goal would be to correct the water and sanitary sewer systems problem. I believe it is the community responsibility to pay for the up keep and maintenance of the two facilities, because it is the community who is reaping the benefits of these facilities. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I feel this proposed revenue fee would make utilities more self sufficient. My second goal would be to correct the budget balancing problems. The budget debt each year is approximately 200,00 to 300,000. To solve this problem, I would make three more adjustments in the budget expenditures. The adjustments would approximately total 250,000. I chose 250,000 because it is the average of 200,000 300,000. My first adjustment would go towards the capital program expenditure. Since I previously include the sewer and water system capital program expenditure into the revenue fee, I could deduct these two services from the capital program expenditure total. Doing this would reduce the capital program expenditure from 538,630 per year to 379,350 per year, leaving the budget with a 159,280 per year savings. The second adjustment would go toward public safety. I would immediately hire a new police officer, because of the police s staff shortage. I think it is a necessity to have enough officers to maintain all shifts. Hiring more officers would help keep the streets of Opportunity safe. This is important because of the community s profile. Opportunity consists of mostly above average socioeconomic people and elderly people. I could see the crime rate rising in the future, due to the lack of police officers. On the other hand, I would alleviate the ideal of hiring a technician. I feel hiring a contractor on needed bases is sufficient. Why

The Operation Management Approach To Total Quality Management Operation Management is the study of how people organize themselves for productive enterprise .In order to be effective and efficient, an operation manager must possess a series of attitudes and skills to push his/her company forward to reach goals and objectives. Operation management consists of the four functions, that is, planning, organizing ,controlling and leading. These functions help in the analysis of the activities done by the organization. Operation is also about creating goods and services and it is known as the transformation process which turns a range of inputs into the desired output (services) having the requisite quality level. • 5. Age-Related Macular Degeneration Leads to Severe Vision... Age related macular degeneration also known as AMD is a disease leading to severe vision and legal blindness in the elderly population. I will address the health condition description and the disability and functional implications who suffer from this disease. For the health condition description of age related macular degeneration I will discuss the etiology, onset, prevalence rate, body systems, body structures, and associated deficits that come and are associated with this disease. AMD is the degradation of the cells at the center of the retina which is the layer of tissue at the back of the eye that registers light. The macula is responsible for ventral vision, which enables us to read, drive, participate in sports, and do anything else that requires focusing directly ahead. Macular degeneration distorts the heart of the vision field (Macular degeneration, 1998). Sunlight and smoking are both influences of the onset of AMD (Age related Macular Degeneration (AMD), 2014). It is suggested to avoid intense bright sunlight which may help reduce the retinal degeneration. Hats, sunglasses and any other accessories that can help protect the eyes from the sun are suggested. Cigarette smoking has also been linked to increasing the risk of developing AMD and it is recommended that persons should stop smoking to decrease their chance of developing AMD (Age related Macular Degeneration (AMD), 2014). AMD does not develop until the sixth or seventh decade of life, although early
  • 6. The Voting Age In Voting At first one may think that 16 and 17 year olds are just focused on dating, having fun, and playing sports. Most would assume that they certainly aren t mature enough or know enough about politics to vote. However, it is just the opposite, 16 and 17 year olds are in fact very qualified to vote and they care about politics. The votingage should be lowered to allow 16 and 17 year olds to vote. 16 and 17 year olds are just as capable as adults in voting, letting them vote would positively affect the voting field in numerous ways, and they are faced many responsibilities similar to adults . 16 and 17 year olds are just as qualified to vote as adults are. According to the federal Voting Rights Act of 1965, a 6th grade education is all that is required for an adult to vote (National Youth Rights). The majority of 16 and 17 year olds have completed more than a 6th grade level of education, so they certainly fit the education standards required for voting. Not only do 16 and 17 year olds tend to be more educated than 6th graders, it is also shown through research that a 16 year old has the same degree of civic knowledge as a 21 year old and that 16 and 17 year olds poses a high enough intellectual level and maturity level to vote like adults (Vote16USA). Youth are also getting smarter. A study conducted by Professor James Flynn shows that IQ scores have gone up in youth. A child who was scored in the top 3% on an IQ test in 1932, would score in the top 25% on the same test today

His family was lived with a changed life form Victorian to Modernist era. Yeats lived in London with his family until the age of sixteen. This time was difficult for his family because his mother was lived far away from her home country, the Ireland. Thus in his poetry, Yeats presented strong sense of Irish patriotism. Yeats returned back to Ireland in 1881 and here he enrolled in Dublin based Metropolitan School of Art. After spending five years in this school, he was developed a fascination with literature. • 9. Catecholamines and Cortisol Help to Fight Stress When stress occurs, our bodies respond by releasing hormones that help our bodies deal with the stress. Catecholamines (epinephrine and norepinephrine) and cortisol are hormones that are major players in the stress response (McCance Huether, 2010). Catecholamines share some common physiologic actions with cortisol. Catecholamines and its metabolic actions are similar to those of cortisol. Both catecholamines and cortisol cause an increase in blood glucose through increased gluconeogenesis (McCance Huether, 2010). Gluconeogenesis is the production of glucose when the activation of certain enzymes occur (McCance Huether, 2010). Both epinephrine and cortisol also cause an increase in blood glucose by preventing cells in the body from the uptake of glucose and decreasing the effects of insulin (Judd, n.d.). Catecholamines and cortisol both cause an increase in cardiac output and an increase in blood pressure as well (McCance Huether, 2010). Catecholamines do this by enhancing myocardial contractility, increasing heart rate, and increasing the blood (venous) returning to the heart (McCance Huether, 2010). Cortisol aids in this effect by increasing the amount of receptors that epinephrine and norepinephrine can attach to (Judd, n.d.). Cortisol and catecholamines both cause lipolysis is some areas of the body. This occurs in the extremities with cortisol, but most areas of the body with catecholamines (McCance Huether, 2010). Strangely enough, both
  • 10. Fascism Vs Fascism Plato once wrote, The heaviest penalty for declining to rule is to be ruled by someone inferior to yourself . It would be impossible for him to guess this quote would be taken very literally among ruler after ruler in history. Unfortunately, not every person who took this piece seriously was the best choice in leadership. Adolf Hitlerof Germany and Benito Mussolini of Italy were leaders who used elements of fascismin order to promote their vision of a new world. Although they both had similarities in their regimes, they also had great differences in leading their country. The term fascist is thrown around in politics and heated debates without much respect for how heavy the term truly is. Before diving into the different extents to which fascism was carried out in Italy and Germany, it is important to take a moment and discuss what the term is. According to Merriam Webster dictionary, fascism is a, political philosophy, movement, or regime... that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition , as well as, a tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control . With such a harsh definition, some would believe it would be simple to create a framework for all fascist dictators, yet that could not be further from the truth. Although it may be difficult to define fascism to a

Going back 20 plus years ago, Herren was a basketball prodigy from Fall River, Mass., who had the weight of the world on his shoulders. He had the attention of the national and local Massachusetts media surrounding his game. Looking back at everything, it seemed like a lot for someone to deal with at such a young age. Although a five star prospect on the court, Herren secretly battled an illness off of it: addiction. This would take him to the lowest of lows and hit him and his family harder than anything imaginable. Now a motivational speaker delivering his message of staying clean, Herren spoke about his heights as a basketball player and struggling with drug dependence while trying to keep his basketball career intact and family together. Damian Strohmeyer /Sports Illustrated /Getty Images In New York, basketball is king. The same can be said for Fall River, Mass. What was life like growing up? Aslan is a lion that created Narnia. Lewis intended for Aslan to basically be God to the creatures of Narnia. There is much to summarize about this tremendous book, but I will only speak about comparing and contrasting God and Aslan. How are they similar? Both Aslan and God created worlds, which means that they both rule their worlds as well. Aslan and God formed the worlds by speaking. Aslan sang the world into existence (Lewis, 112), while God spoke the world into being (Genesis, 1). Though no one was there when God said His words, so maybe He sang them just like Aslan, but nobody will ever know. They also both appointed a man and a woman as the king and queen of Narnia. Some of the major causes to the Russian revolution were caused by long term and short term effects. Some of these major effects were Russia s rapid industrialization and modernization which had inherent problems. The rise of capitalism led to an increase of inequality between the classes. In addition, the mistakes of the Russo Japanese war emerged upon the boundaries of the Russian political climate. These series of revolutionary events led to the Tsar of Russiato issue the October Manifesto. In the October Manifesto, the Tsar conceded powers including the creation of the Duma, which was a Russian parliament. In this idea, the Duma could pass or reject all laws proposed by the Tsar. However, the Tsar composed the right to remove and reestablish the Duma whenever he saw fit, which only caused anger to the people as the years continued. The 1905 Russian Revolution was caused by contributory factors such as the long term and short term problems in Russia. Some long term effects were the growth of the reformist groups like the social democrats the social revolutionaries and other liberal groups that had formed around that time. Another long term effect was the instability of Russia autocratic rule and repression which were characterized in the reigns of Alexander the III and also in the reign of Nicholas II. However, 1905 is characterized by two primary short term effects which is the development of the

Wise Tips Dating Single Moms Need to Know Before Introducing the Kids to the New Guy Dating when you have children can be very exasperating. You don t only think about how to go on with the date, you also think about what is going to be good for the children. After all, it is no longer just about you and him alone. It s also whether or not the kids will be cool enough to like your guy and vice versa. It is often worth any single parent s trouble to note what it is their children might be thinking about the entire dating process. Slow down and do not make the mistake of forcing it out on the children. It is better to take it slow and be successful later than to make haste and fail afterwards. 2. Reassure your children. It is important to stress out to the children that they will only have one mom and one dad. No one needs to replace anyone. This creates a win win situation for everyone. The children will slowly understand the role your new boyfriend will play in their lives and it should not include replacing their daddy. It is good enough if your children like your new boyfriend so much to even recognize him as their step dad and starts calling him daddy . That s not so bad if that is what you want to achieve at the end of the day. But you might want to avoid further hassle by confusing your child eventually when things do not go in that direction. Just reassure your children about having one mom and one dad. 3. Do not expect. Consider this rule of thumb. You can t force anyone to like anyone. Asking your children to be nice or to like someone is definitely going to spoil everything you have planned in mind. Allow everyone to meet and form their own opinions. 4. Come in groups. You might want to avoid going for uptight and formal meetings. This could potentially dismantle any positive vibe that could exist if you go for friendly and less formal scenarios. Try some gimmicks like having some BBQ party or a pool party. Introduce him as a friend and give the children the chance

For instance, say that you are craving some chocolate chip cookies. You want the cookies so bad to the point that you imagine that the cookies are in front of your face even though they are not really there. • 25. Arguments Against Expansion Of Whaling Another argument against the expansion of whaling involves the morality and ethical aspects of killing whales. Currently, explosive harpoons tipped with a 30 g penthrite grenade are used by Norwegian and Icelandic whaling fleets as the primary mechanism of causing lethal trauma (Knudsen and Oen 2003). If there is any question whether the harpoon delivered a lethal blow, rifles chambered in .375 or .458 are fired at the cranium. Average time to death in minke whales in the North Atlantic was calculated at 141 seconds with a maximum time to death of 90 minutes (Simmonds 2006). Conservationists consider even the average time to death too long to be considered humane. Another point anti whalinggroups bring up is the high degree of intelligence... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They feel that the IWC has become a conservation organization, where it was originally meant to be a regulatory agency for whaling (Schweder 2001). There have been accusations of the commission being purposely uncertain of the status of whales to keep the moratorium in effect, when in reality we know enough to open a sustainable fishery (Schweder 2001). There have been studies on both fin and minke whales indicating that a fishery would be sustainable. Fin whales populations off Iceland appear to be increasing at 4% per year, and minke populations off both Iceland and Norway appear to be stable, though it should be noted that the IWC indicates that fin whale populations in the northeast Atlantic haven t been thoroughly assessed (Borchers et al. 2009, Vikingsson et al. 2009). The Marine Research Institute of Iceland has calculated that up to 150 fin whales and 400 minke whales can be sustainably harvested per year (Icelandic Fisheries 2014). Because fin whale populations are stable around Iceland, the government does not consider their IUCN listing as endangered relevant to their hunting status. A 1998 modeling study on minke whales in Norway showed potential population growth from 63,033 in 1995 to 70,733 in 2010 if 600 whales were taken every year (Bjorndal and Conrad 1998). Though Norway has increased their quota to 1,286, the number of minkes killed in a given year has not exceeded 600 individuals (IWC 2014). These potential harvest numbers are considered conservative, since the sighting methods used to estimate abundance were also conservative in nature. Neither Iceland nor Norway has exceeded their self imposed annual quotas since the quotas inception (IWC

However, in prehistoric times women were not given a chance to even demonstrate their intelligence. Today, in the world of feminism, scientist battle to discover the truth behind intellectual abilities. This essay explores the levels of intelligence in a woman and man. Moreover, I will analyze enculturation factors, as well as social determination to ultimately determine if men are smarter than woman. Or if it s all just a myth. Sex Determination and Differentiations The nature versus nurture debate has been going on for decades; however, when gender inequality of intelligence is approached, innate processes do not seem to vary much between men and women. Intelligence is defined in many different ways such as terms of one s capacity for logic, abstract thought, understanding, self awareness, communication, learning, emotional knowledge, memory, planning, creativity, and problem solving (Neisser). Behaviorists tend to approach intelligence as the product of environments; while nativist s imply that intelligence is an ancient battle whose origin hides deep in our genes. Firstly, I would

What she is saying is that often in a lot of cases readers will receive a female lead who is nothing but predictable and stereotypical. The female often gives off essential qualities of a cartoon or princess like damsel in distress. When it comes to classical literature, female characters have predictable nature. In Scarlet Pimpernel, the women carry charismatic personalities and feelings that definitely do not fit in a box . Marguerite Blakeney can be quite ruthless at times. When someone is displeasing towards her or something doesn t go her way she becomes uncivil. After the Countess rejected Marguerite by saying Suzanne, I forbid you to speak to that woman (Orczy 11), the reader can tell by her small actions after that she was bothered. As well as For the moment Marguerite s sweet face had become as white as the soft fichu which swathed her throat, and a very keen observer might have noted that the hand which held the tall, beribboned stick was clenched, and trembled somewhat (Orczy 11). Her response was insulting the Countess by saying Sir Andrew, did you ever see such an unpleasant person? I hope when I grow old I sha n t look like that (Orczy 11). This was also followed by Lady Blakeney mimicking the Countess, so the reader would think Marguerite is ruthless because of her childish and impolite actions due to a minor rejection. Obviously people going against her in any way is a great issue to her, and imagine what she might have done if Suzanne (who was more relaxed in this situation) had not convened with her. Imagine what other impolite or harsh comments or actions she might have added. Hoffman s performance enabled his character to assert his presence with the intensity which helped humanize not only his self centered brother Charlie, played by Tom Cruise but also the audience. This allowed us to better understand how individuals with autism perceive the world. This success of this file enabled the use of this film as an assessment for measuring how succeeding depictions of autism have changed or remained the same. There are two major aspects of the film that may not have seemed troubling in 1988 when the film premiered but would be found upsetting today as our knowledge of the spectrum disorder has gained strides. In the film, Raymond is portrayed as an autistic savant ( one who combines certain deficiencies in social interaction, language and sensory processing with extraordinary abilities in math and memory ), which created an incorrect stereotype that all individuals with autism are savant when, in fact, only around 10%
  • 39. Representative Democracy Research Paper When it comes to the way the government is run in the United Kingdom, there has been great evolution from what it was when it started back in the 13th century as a monarchy. The progression of the government has changed drastically over 800 years to what s now used today: the Parliamentary system (with a constitutional monarch on the side). The United KingdomParliament has served the 65 million people living in England, Scotland, Wales and North Ireland for countless decades and continues to support and discuss relevant issues like health care, the environment, education, crime, and national aid. In the four countries that dominate the United Kingdom, they work together to maintain what is one of the oldest governments in the world, as well ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Starting in the year of 1215, when the rise of King John s new law system was put into place, he, with the help of his barons, made sure no one, not even himself, was above the laws they created. In 1265, Simon de Montfort invited representatives of surrounding towns and shires to his Parliament. These events helped found the representative democracy we now use today. What was once a constitutional monarchy with a king and queen deciding the rules of the land, is now a Parliamentary democracy where there s one leader and all the people get a say in the way it s run. The representative democracy is more modern than how it was run in way back when. When the monarch ruled, a king and queen had power. This power was inherited when a family member passes away and you re the one next in line for the crown. Laws and decisions were made by the legislation and passed by the monarch before being granted. Although this way of government preserved culture and tradition as well as continuity, the monarch cannot be removed no matter how poor their duties are and it also promotes class privilege ( this can push the idea that success can be achieved based only on your social class instead of your hard

  • 42. Pan Arabism Research Paper Pan Arabism was a movement that reached its high point in the 60 s and 70 s that called for the unification of countries from North Africa and Asia to create a national Arabic identity. Although Pan Arabism was its own movement, it closely was tied with Arab Nationalism, which basically wanted a unified Arab country with lesser western political intervention. In this paper I will talk about what lead to Pan Arabism and how it came to become an actual movement. I will also cover Arab Nationalismbecause of its close relation to Pan Arabism. After I talk about Pan Arabism, I will talk about the importance of Arabic language to the actual Arabic identity and the efforts that are taken to prevent the downfall of this language. I will also cover the Politics of the time period of Pan Arabism talking about Nasserisim and the Bath Party. Lastly, and most Importantly, I will talk about unity in Pan Arabism covering the United Arab Republic, the Islamist Arabic Union, Maghreb Union, and many more. Basically, I will talk about what time frame these unions were introduced, what caused them, what their intent was, and why they failed if they did so. I also intend on presenting the case as to whether a true Arab identity exists and what makes it up. Initially, what caused the movements of Pan Arabism and Arab Nationalism to fail is inevitable political intervention of western nations. I also believe that language and geographic positions were not enough for nations to unify. That is what

Battle of Britain The Luftwaffe Needs Lessons from the Brits: An Investigation of Hitler s Defeat at the Battle of Britain By: Jake Pilla Global History II 11 28 07 In 1940, German planes flew over Britain in an attempt to take over the country and tear apart the enemy s alliance. Britain was surprised by this attack, but countered by shooting down at least twenty planes of the Luftwaffe, the Nazi air force, during the initial attack. Hitler sent waves of planes into Britain every day, trying to lower British morale; however, he did not expect Allied forces to send supplies to England. United States and France sent planes to Britain, which were the most important factor of the Battle of Britain. British used the powerful Royal Air Force to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After Poland and France were conquered they lost a percentage of their incoming supplies but, nevertheless, the United States sent even more. This allowed production of multiple planes and gave Britain more time to devise plans for a counter attack. The Royal Air Force had superior aircrafts, pilots, and training tactics, compared to the Luftwaffe. The war in Europe started in early September 1939. Germany, Adolf Hitler, took over Poland. Britain and France countered by declaring war on Germany but did not take action for many months. In 1940, Germany attacked its next target, Denmark, and Norway. Soon after they invaded and successfully took over Belgium, the Netherlands, and France. All of these nations were conquered because of the Blitzkrieg or lightning war, technique. In the summer of 1940, Germany took Britain head on, this time from the air. The Battle of Britain turned out to be Hitler s first military failure, as the Luftwaffe never could destroy the powerful Royal Air Force. Britain was slightly surprise by the attack, but was ready to fight in time. Germany tried to blockade Britain but the powerful Royal Navy sunk German battleships and submarines. If Hitler could have pulled off a blockade Britain would have been at a huge disadvantage, because they import a huge majority of their supplies. Germany took to the air to

Web Gis Technology Using Gis Server Web GIS Technology Using GIS Server Abstract: Web based mapping is the process of generating and providing maps on the World Wide Web for users to search and browse spatial information. Web mapping has been designed based on a client/server technology. In client/server architectures the server side is in charge of the data querying, analysis and processing, whereas the client side is based on the user interaction, map display and report generation. Web services make it easy to share GIS resources across client applications, including ArcGIS for Desktop, web mapping applications, mobile devices. Key Words: GIS Server, Web Mapping, Geodatabase. Introduction: GIS resources are the maps, globes, address locators, geodatabases, and tools that one wants to share with others. It can host GIS resources on ArcGIS for Server system and allow client applications, such as web mapping applications and mobile devices, to use and interact with the resources [1]. It is possible to create web based services, providing maps for users to search and browse geographic information [2]. ESRI s ArcGIS Server connects people with the geographic information they need. Organizations use ArcGIS Server to distribute maps and other GIS capabilities provided by web mapping applications and services to improve internal workflows, communicate vital issues, and engage stakeholders [3]. War crimes were highly prevalent throughout this time, such as the Holocaust, inhumane experimentations, and the Japanese internment. One is often overlooked and barely spoken of: comfort women. Comfort women were girls and women from Japanese territories coerce into sex slavery for the Japanese military. The idea behind it was to prevent rape and to reduce sexually transmitted diseases in the army; however, this came at the expense of innocent women and girls. Women and girls were tricked or kidnapped to be raped. They were forced into horrific living condition. While the living conditions were horrible, the scars... From that day on, the Japanese troops raped me every day. Each day at least five to six men would come... (7 8). Not only did they have to experience rape, but also torture, starved, and forced to do labor. For the comfort women, the hardest thing to do from their experience was to learn to cope with the trauma if they had survived. According to the United Nations, Only about 25 per cent of these women are said to have survived these daily abuses (39). They have to live their lives anguished and ashamed for something they could not control. They would hide the truth from their families. Many of these women developed mental disorders, like post traumatic stress disorder. Other experienced infertility or had a physical disability. The worst part of the aftermath is the Japanese government refusing to acknowledge this has ever occurred. De Brouwer, an author, has written, Until 1992, the Japanese government has denied any responsibility for the sexual slavery system during World War II... (8). It has been noted that it is rarely mentioned in history books. Rebuffing atonement to the remaining comfort women, this strains the relationship between the Japanese government, the surviving comfort women and the South Korean

Covered bonds were typically structured so as to receive a rating of AAA or AA from the major rating organizations (AAA denoted instruments of the highest quality). One important difference between covered bonds and MBS was that the set of mortgages securing the covered bond were dynamic; in contrast, mortgages comprising a MBS remained static once the security was issued. In the case of a covered bond, mortgages that experienced delinquencies were generally substituted out of the pool, with performing mortgages replacing them. Just as the individual mortgages in the cover pool were dynamic, the total size of the cover pool was dynamic as well. The amount of overcollateralization (i.e., the extent to which the size of the cover pool would exceed the face value of the covered bonds) would adjust dynamically depending on the financial health of the issuer.
