Such a material would be infinitely reusable or recyclable.1 Perfect materials are rare, but in practice,
there are a growing number of green materials that reduce or eliminate negative impacts on people and
the environment. As manufacturers, building professionals, and owners constantly strive for better
buildings, we encourage others in the supply chain to join us in pursuit of a better world. Incorporating
green products into a project does not imply sacrifice in performance, or aesthetics, and does not
necessarily entail higher cost. While one can spend considerably more for green materials, careful
shoppers will find cost competitive environmentally preferable options. For example, a joint US
EPA/Army study of more than 2200 paints showed environmentally preferable options cost an average
of $1.76 less per gallon 2 gallon.
Considerations
This booklet offers simple suggestions to help select greener options for a wide array of common
materials, and provides references to resources for more detailed information. For materials not
included in this document, the checklist in the appendix and the sidebars of pages 2 3 can help you to
organize your analysis. The evaluation of materials is based upon three questions: Is the material
renewable and resource efficient in its manufacture, installation, use, and disposal? Does the material
support the health and well being of occupants, construction personnel, the public, and the
environment? The most critical

Film Analysis Of Amour Essay Theme
Hiroshima Mon Amour was directed by Alain Resnais and had a script written by Marguerite Duras,
who was an author and gave the film a book like feel. This made you feel as if you were reading a
story, one of the best ways this is conveyed is through the voiceovers she has. The film takes place in a
time period of a post war Hiroshima Japan, and the setting, as well as the time period, plays a major
part in this film, by showing the audience views a war torn country as it rebuilds and rebrands itself.
As well as how those affected remember or forget the tragedy that shook their city. The main themes
explored in this film are the relation of memory and forgetfulness, love and death, he and she being
contrasted, pleasure and pain, east and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And do we also have a duty to keep these events alive so that we pay respect to the ones that lost their
lives? War is a complicated topic, and the basis of memory and forgetting resonating throughout that
makes it even more of a difficult subject. Can remembering events cause more harm if we are not
remembering the events in the full effect, and how do we differentiate our personal feelings from just
laying out the facts of what actually occurred? In reality everyone experiences war and tragic events
differently. and there is no clear way to remember those events. However trying to understand the
aspect of memory and forgetfulness, is very well explained in this film and brings light to just how
confusing the subject war and everything that comes along with it can be.
Most individuals do not want to remember tragic events, but what if tragic events make it hard to
remember, or make it difficult to chose what you want to remember? According to the scholarly
journal over History, Memory, and Forgetting translated by Sheena Caldwell, states that individuals do
not have a full control over their memories and those memories can be impulsive. Because tragic
events are removed from selective memory, which means you are unable to control what you
remember. This could explain why she had a breakdown in the bar when she tried to open up to he .
She was unable to just tell part of the story, and instead remembered the horrific events that took place
when her loved one

Essay Explain How The Coriolis Effect On Ocean Currents
1. Describe four factors that influence ocean currents.
The wind, the biggest factor in the creation of surface currents, salinity and temperature differences,
affecting density, earth s rotation, when a rotating object collides with another moving force, it created
a new motion, solar heating and bottom topography in which the moving water drops out moving the
water downward.
2. Explain how the Coriolis Effect impacts ocean currents.
The Coriolis Effect is the apparent change in wind direction due to the spin of Earth. It controls wind
direction, which in turn influences ocean currents at the surface. They blow to different air pressures.
Earth s curvature and axial orientation receive most sunlight so temperatures are higher. Earth rotates

What is upwelling and why is it important to the marine ecosystem?
The process by which nutrients and energy resurface is called upwelling. Through upwelling, cold,
nutrient rich water rises from the deep ocean to the surface. Upwelling is caused when winds drive the
surface waters away from an area. This would help with the survival of marine mammals.
5. Explain the relationship density has on wind currents and ocean currents.
A denser material will always fall through a less dense material, or alternatively look at it as the less
dense material being more buoyant and thus rising through the denser material.
High pressure areas are normally caused by a phenomenon called subsidence, meaning that as the air
in the high cools it becomes denser and moves toward the ground. Pressure increases here because
more air fills the space left from the low.In the ocean, density driven currents act the same way. The
Global Ocean Conveyor Belt is created when very cold, dense ocean water in the North Atlantic
descends through the water column. It starts the cycle of pushing the whole thing around the globe. In
the warm waters of the equatorial Pacific, waters rise to the surface.
6. Which factor in creating currents has the greatest influence on weather

A Brief Note On Information System Security Policy Essay
Information System Security Policy

Information System Security Policy
In business today the business process is almost entirely ran using information systems. At the end of
the last millennium business spent an estimated five hundred billion dollars fixing the Y2K bug
(Svaldi, 2000, p 2048). This is an example of how important the information system has become to the
business process. This is why information system security has become such a high priority in
corporations today. Think of having a high value company asset left out in the open for anyone to
steal. This the equivalent of an information system without proper security. Adequate and
sophisticated security structure is not something that falls into place by accident it takes strategic
planning and implementation. Building security for an information system demands a broad range of
expertise including cryptography, cryptographic protocols, system reliability, organizational and
legislative matters (Trcek, 2000, p. 1716) Organizations use a set of rules to define the protocols to
access to the information system. This list of protocols is known as security policies. Security consists
of a group of standardized polices working together as one document creating the security policy.
Researchers have stated the development of information security policies is the first step in the right
direction toward preparing an organization to defend

Goals and Strategies of the Civil Rights Movement Essay
African American Civil Rights Movement Throughout the 1960 s, the widespread movement for
African American civil rights had transformed in terms of its goals and strategies. The campaign had
intensified in this decade, characterized by greater demands and more aggressive efforts. Although the
support of the Civil Rights movement was relatively constant, the goals of the movement became
more high reaching and specific, and its strategies became less compromising. African Americans
struggle for equality during the 1960 s was a relentless movement that used change for progress. In
essence, the transformation of the Civil Rights Movement throughout the 1960 s forwarded the
evolution of America into a nation of civil equality and freedom. ... Show more content on

We want to see the cooperative concept applied in business and banking. We want... The excerpt reads
further as a long dissertation of specific goals of the organization, which include black participation in
government and economy, defiance against profiteers of slums, and the overall shift to a socialist
America. In the socialist train of thought, society is invested in the integrity and economic
participation of its people, and, therefore, blacks become almost invaluable to America. Here, each
individual is seen as vital to the nation, because, if not, then the whole foundation of the socialist
philosophy collapses. And so, it is implied in this document that a change for a new system of
government in a new America is needed, which greatly contrasts from simply making people aware of
a perfect world with guaranteed civil rights. Another significant transformation took place in the Civil
Rights Movement in terms of its strategies. In analyzing this facet of the movement, we notice a great
shift from nonviolent demonstration to forward, forceful action. Specifically, at the start of the Civil
Rights Movement, lunch counter sit ins were evident throughout the nation, as were Freedom Riders.
Starting in Greensboro, North Carolina at a luncheonette called Woolworths, young black citizens

Looking Beyond the Surface at Raymond Carver s Cathedral
It seems in life that we often look at things without really seeing them. Raymond Carver demonstrates
in Cathedral that looking is associated to physical vision, but seeing involves a deeper level of
commitment. The author is making the point when you put yourself into someone else s shoes and
allow yourself to see things the way they see them, it can be the most rewarding and eye opening
experience.
During the exposition, the narrator shows that he has no problems with eyesight and he is capable of
looking. The narrator is not blind and thinks that because he can see he is better than Robert. Because
of Robert s physical blindness the narrator thinks that he is not able to have any kind of normal life.
The narrator believes that the ability to see is everything, and puts no effort into looking and seeing
anything beyond the surface. He looks at his house, wife, television, and at Robert when he arrives.
How ironic is it that Robert, the blind man, has the ability to see on a much deeper level than the
narrator? For example, even though Robert cannot physically see the narrator s wife, he understands
her a lot more than her husband. He has truly listened to her during the past ten years on the
audiotapes she sends him. The only interactions shown between the narrator, the protagonist, and his
wife are short exchanges in which he seems to get on her nerves. It is demonstrated in this conflict by
Robert, the antagonist, that seeing involves a lot more than just looking.

The Failure Of The Soviet Union
There is a myriad of factors that accounted for the dissolution of the USSR, and the consolidation of
capitalist superiority from 1991 onwards after the fall of an autocracy, and demise of a disunited
provisional government. The official declaration of the termination of the Soviet Union was December
26 1991; this collapse was addressed by the west as the defeat of communism, and the end of the Cold
War. To understand how and why this previously prosperous nation came to fall it is important to look
at the major factors contributing to this disarray. I will examine the economic and ethnic problems the
Soviet Union faced, as well as the problems with those in power.
After the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917, the newly formed government had a philosophy ... Show

Communism is described as a theory or system of social organization based on the holding of all
property in common, actual ownership being ascribed to the community as a whole or to the state. In
some countries this system worked, but what the Soviet Union failed to do was to instill the ideology
of Communism into the heart and minds of its population, an anonymous Soviet citizen said, They
pretend to pay us and we pretend to work, Showing the lack of motivation amongst the citizens, and
lack of enthusiasm in the system. Not only was there no productivity, but also in the middle of the
1980 s approximately seventy percent of industrial output of the Soviet Union was going to the
military, causing severe shortages of the industrial goods for the rest of the economy, and failing to
meet the needs of the State resulting in acute poverty. In the end the Soviet people became more
cynical about their government and only felt distrust towards them, this and the fact that the Soviet
Union failed to produce a stable economy led to economic decline, eventually demanding the

Mandatory Non Medical Funding For Children Entering Public...
Choosing to vaccinate or not vaccinate children has become a large topic of contention between
parents and medical personnel. Rates of non medical vaccine exemptions for children entering public
school continue to increase across the country. This increase has coincided with a resurgence in
outbreaks of vaccine preventable diseases, or VPDs (Lynfield, 2014, p.1). There are a variety of
reasons why a family might apply for a non medical exemption and the validity of these exemptions
varies from state to state. Regardless of the justifiability of an exemption, growing numbers of non
vaccinated children entering school will increase the prevalence and mortality from VPDs (Lynfield,
2014, p.2). The recommended vaccinations for children entering kindergarten are 4 doses of
diphtheria, tetanus toxoid, and acellular pertussis (DTaP), 2 doses of the measles, mumps, and rubella
(MMR) vaccine, and 2 doses of the varicella vaccine. The national Healthy People 2020 goal for
kindergarten vaccination rates is 95%. Although the majority of states report vaccination rates at or
near the goal, clusters of non vaccinated groups can develop in some communities (Seither, 2014, p.1).
Anthropological studies showed that the higher rates of non vaccination correlated with outbreaks of
diseases for which children typically receive vaccines. In reaction to numerous outbreaks related to
higher rates of non vaccinated children, California and other states introduced legislation to make it

eHow Contributor Nominal accounts are closed out at the end of each accounting time period. In
accounting, the accounts that record the values of individual items and phenomenons can be divided
into either real or nominal accounts. Real accounts are used to keep up to date on lasting items such as

The Gospel Of Wealth By Andrew Carnegie
Wealth is something that not all people have, but most typically want more of it. There are many
people on Earth that wish they had more wealth, and there are even a select few that have too much.
The Gospel of Wealth by Andrew Carnegie is all about what should be done when there is too much
wealth held by an individual. Carnegie begins his essay by describing how the disparity of wealth has
changed over the years. He also describes how wealth has simply grown in general over time.
Carnegie states, What were the luxuries have become the necessaries of life . He then goes on to
discuss ways that excess wealth accumulated by any one person can be spent or distributed. There are
three ways, or modes, that Carnegie touches on in order to dispose

primer and /or HSV 2 primer (we have chosen only HSV 1). BioEdit software has been used to edit
the nuclide sequences where necessary. After that the primer has been ordered. The second step was in
the laboratory which included applying the HSV 1 primers to real time PCR protocol. The final results

The Garden City By Ebenezer Howard
In the late 19th century, utopian ideals ran rampant as a response to the unsustainable situation caused
by the rise of industrialization. The poverty and squalor people were experiencing caused them to
embrace extreme Utopian ideas. They believed that it could potentially take them out of their current
condition. Utopia, though, is difficult to define, but within the context of this time period it is defined
as a belief in the perfectibility of humanity a basic goodness in human nature (Tarlow, 301). By this
definition, one of the only ideas of this time period that was truly utopian was the Garden City
Movement. The Garden City Concept was created by Ebenezer Howard in 1898. The ideas of it are
outlined in Howard s book: Garden Cities of To morrow. It is utopian in both how it was conceived
and the general concept. Its focus on collaboration, social change, and pragmatism rather than on
rebellious escapism made it a revolutionary idea that still continues to influence city planning to this
day. To better understand the reasoning behind Howard s garden city concept, it is important to
examine the impact of the industrial revolution on London and all of Britain. The rise of
industrialization caused the urban population to grow as many left the rural countryside to seek new
jobs. Industrialization led to a period of economic prosperity, but the cities often had unsuitable waste
disposals and polluted water supplies. In addition, there was a housing issue and there were

Case Study Of Anemia And Bleeding Disorders
Module 5 Assignment: Case Studies Anemia and bleeding disorders are common conditions that affect
the human blood. Anemia involves a decrease in both hemoglobin concentration and the number of
erythrocytes in the blood. As a result, the condition causes a decrease in the blood s oxygen carrying
capacity. On the other hand, bleeding disorders involve heavy and continuous loss of blood. They are
often classified into coagulation disorders and platelet disorders. In the current study, two different
cases of anemia and bleeding disorder were investigated.
Anemia
In a case of anemia, a 47 year old male patient presented with several symptoms. The patient was

Moreover, bone marrow biopsy revealed low iron stores and megaloblastic changes. The results also
showed normal levels of B12 but low levels of red cell folate and serum folate. The patient, therefore,
demonstrated an overall lack of iron in his blood, which suggested the presence of anemia involving
iron deficiency. Basically, iron deficiency decreases ferritin and decreases iron stores in the bone
marrow, which in turn causes the production of abnormal erythrocytes (Yadav et al., 2016). Therefore,
further assessment of the patient requires the identification of brittle nails, angular cheilitis, and
glossitis, which are associated with iron deficiency. Based on the laboratory findings, the most likely
diagnosis of the patient s condition is iron deficiency anemia. Accordingly, the patient can be managed
in several ways. First, the patient should be advised to discontinue alcohol intake. Iron deficiency in
the patient should be evaluated further, particularly by performing a thorough gastrointestinal
examination. Moreover, sixty mg of iron should be administered three times every day to promote the
normalization of Hct. In the case of unresponsiveness or intolerance to the dose, alternative therapies
like the use of iron sucrose and ferric gluconate are indicated. Suitable antibiotic combinations have
also been shown to reverse iron deficiency in patients suffering from atrophic gastritis that is
associated with Helicobacter pylori (Miernyk et al.,

Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura (IPT)
When I was five, my parents started noticing weird bruises all over my body. They would ask me what
I was doing that gave me so many bruises; I never knew what it was. (1: SV; SV.) Finally, my parents
took me into the doctor after months of noticing these strange bruises. The doctors ran many tests and
took a lot of blood. I was diagnosed with chronic Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura, otherwise
known as ITP. ITP is an auto immune blood disorder that is caused by an untreated viral infection or
immune system suppression caused by vaccinations and can be life altering. Symptoms of ITP can
range dramatically from patient to patient. One of the many symptoms is low blood platelet count.
Blood platelets are important for the body: they essentially form clots in the blood to stop bleeding. (3:
SV: SV.) According to Michael A. Silverman, author of the article Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic
Purpura posted on Medscape, Relative marrow failure may contribute to this condition, since studies
show that most patients have either normal or diminished platelet production (1). In other words, a
delayed making of marrow is present in most patients with ITP and aids in this disease. Because of
this, blood platelets cannot be made as accurately as a normal body would make them. Other
symptoms include easy bruising and petechiae (Idiopathic 1). Easy bruising can result from blood
vessels becoming weak; consequently, the slightest touch can break them, forming a bruise. (1a: SV;

Perseverance: 30 Seconds to Mars
When I first began working in the music industry I knew that it was a cutthroat business. From the
growing competition all the way down to the tight deadlines, I knew that a career in this field would
be something that everyone has to fight for. I always admired the people in the industry who fought
for the rights of their creativity and stood up to the big name corporations that casted a shadow over
this industry. One particular group of artists that I ve admired for years now because of this is the band
30 Seconds to Mars. It was through 30 Seconds to Mars that I learned to always fight for my own
creativity and fight for what I believe is truly right. After a successful worldwide tour that lasted
nearly two years, the band had returned home to Los Angeles to work out a new contract with their
label Virgin Records/EMI. However, when the band began to renegotiate new terms; the company hit
30 Seconds to Mars with a $30,000,000.00 lawsuit (Cubbins, 2012). According to Billboard reporter
Ayala Ben Yehuda (2008), the record company decided to sue the band for not delivering three of the
five albums that were established under the band s previous contract. Not only did the band face a
huge lawsuit, but the company also cut off all their financial resources until the band gave in to their
demands. Instead of giving up and taking the short end of the stick, 30 Seconds to Mars took it upon

Criticisms Of The Black Power Movement
Criticisms of the Black Power Movement
Criticisms of the Movement The Black Power movement received criticism from civil rights activists
and organizations, such as Bayard Rustin and the National Association for the Advancement of
Colored People (NAACP). Bayard Rustin who was a civil rights and African American activist for
nonviolence spoke out against the Black Power movement. Bayard Rustin understood what the
movement was trying to achieve but ultimately criticized the movement for being divisive of the
American people. Rustin believed that the movement had revealed two Americas, one black, and one
white.
Since the term black power did not have a concise definition some whites interpreted the term as an
expression of a new racism. 47 On the other hand, blacks defined it as a signal to whites that blacks
would no longer tolerate their violent treatment. Due to the tension the movement created Rustin
deemed the Black Power movement as a threat to the civil rights movement. Rustin said that the Black
Power movement diverts the (civil rights) movement from a meaningful debate over strategy and
tactics, it isolates the Negro community, and it encourages the growth of anti Negro forces. 48 This
tension would hinder the civil rights movement from moving forward.
Bayard Rustin understood the frustration of black people and how black power emerged, though he
said black power was not the answer. Black power was not the answer because it would ultimately

Chivalry In Sir Gawain And The Green Knight
Chivalry In medieval romances there is a hero knight, this hero knight prides himself on being
chivalrous. Chivalry is the overall code of being respectful, religious, and morally right. Some believe
chivalry is dead in our society, but I believe it has just been evolved for modern day life. In Sir
Gawain and the Green Knight , the author pokes fun at the court s values of chivalry. During the
second half of the 14th century, when the story takes place, chivalry dictates their ranks and their
everyday life. Chivalry in the 14th century was based on religion and honoring everyone. A knight that
is chivalrous would be religious, protect the weak and defenseless, to live by honer and for glory, to
guard the honor of all other knights, to always tell the truth and to be respectful of women. The Green
knight takes three swings at Sir Gawain, the first because the knight was of Lighthearted sport (line
324), this meant that he was only swinging because of their deal. The second swing was for the two
kisses he received from the green knight s wife. He received the third and final stroke because he did

The Ubiquitous Mobile Essay
The Ubiquitous Mobile
Snap!Snap!Snap! Your privacy has just been invaded by someone who has taken a photo of you in the
dressing room, with their new camera mobile phone! Is this what the latest technology intended to
provide for us? I don t think so, and this is why I think mobile phones can be a really distracting, and
in this case, an offensive tool, despite being a powerful form of telecommunication. These always,
new up and coming devices can cause financial hardships, by people changing life style habits just to
accommodate the purchase of them. Most people are aware of this, however their immutable minds
doesn t stop reminding them to send that extra SMS message or dial that extra number. Mobile phones

The financial expenses, which have accumilated from mobile phones, have been quite dangerous to
particular people. Like pouring water out of a leaking bottle, money has been wasted out of many
people s banks and financial accounts because of mobiles. Not only can mobile phones be financially
challenging but they can also be physically dangerous. Recent studies have shown that the high level
of radiation coming through the antenna while speaking on the mobile, can critically affect your body
by alpha radiation particles mutating a cell, which goes on to divide and divide, causing a malignant
tumor cancer. So, when all s said and done, mobile phones do have its negative side, and in my
opinion it s negative side is in complete dominance over its positive attributes. These types of phones
can dramatically change people s life styles or even terminate them!
Life styles have often been altered immensely through many life changing events such as: marriage,
births and deaths, diseases, disorders and the like. But however, none of these examples really were in
people s will power, and mobile phones are in other people s hands and in people s strength in mind.
So, is it our latest generations which want to modify their good life style habits in order to make
mobile phones their number one priority, because of their eye catching features and miraculous

What Happened To Rosemary In The Giver
What is the story of Rosemary? Rosemary was a female that was selected to become the new
Receiver. The female Twelve was puzzled and a little frightened just like Jonas. Rosemary was
described as a self possessed, serene, intelligent and eager to learn female by The Giver. When
Rosemary presented herself to start her training, she was happy, excited, and nervous. Her training
began, and she felt enthusiastic. For five weeks, The Giver gave her pleasant memories; a ride on a
merry go round and a kitten to play with. However, she wanted to experience everything because she
knew that it was her responsibility. Thus, The Giver gave her memories of loneliness and loss, causing
her to be stunned. Rosemary changed ever since receiving that sad memory. The Giver still

release, and all her memories got transferred to the community, they added a rule that a the Receiver

away from the river? The Giver advised Jonas to stay away from the river because if Jonas passed
away, all his memories would be transferred to the community. Compared to Rosemary that held 5
weeks worth of memories, Jonas holds one year of memories of all sorts of things. All the memories
that Jonas received would devastate the community to a new extent. The society would have to

Satire In Huckleberry Finn
Huck, the narrator of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, is young, naïve, and rather an outsider of
society; this allows Twain to impart stronger commentary on society. Huck s outsider status and
naïveté presents a forgivable narrator, one who saying something crass or shocking about society is
not a product of their character, but one of their situations. Readers are more apt to forgive comments
on society if they perceive them as innocent in this case that the narrator, Huck, doesn t truly know
what he s saying. Huck s naïveté allows him to convey Twain s comments on society based on his
experiences and without judgment, allowing the reader to form their own judgments, such as when
Huck wanted to smoke and asked the widow to let me.

Examples Of Good Role Models In Romeo And Juliet
In Romeo and Juliet there are many role models. However, very few are actually good role models.
While Romeo is a hasty man, a romantic, and all together a sissy; Benvolio is level headed,
compassionate, and wise. These two men, while friends, are quite different one being a bad role
model, and the other being a good one. Romeo, although a romantic and very lovable character, is not
a good role model for various reasons. In many times of trouble instead of looking for a solution to a
problem, Romeo will simply sit around and pout about it. In the beginning of the play, we know that
Romeo was crying for Rosaline because she was supposedly the most beautiful girl in the world and
his love for her was unrequited. Another time we see this is when he is banished for killing Tybalt and
goes to Friar Laurence and does nothing but cry. Romeo can also be seen as hasty. He doesn t think
throughwhat he does, and this could likely be because he is a romantic. His love for Juliet makes him
marry her without thinking of the consequences, and when Mercutio is killed, his romantic sense of
justice demands for Tybalt to be slain. Hastiness is a common theme of Romeo s actions, especially
when they concern Juliet. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Benvolio, unlike Romeo, is level headed and thinks through everything that he does. In the first scene,
Benvolio tries to stop the fight and only enters the fight when his honor has been insulted. It is able to
be seen that he is wise in this scene as well because he doesn t want anyone to get hurt, Montague or
Capulet. He also keeps in mind what the Prince has warned them in most of the fight scenes. Although
harder to see, Benvolio is also compassionate. This makes him a well rounded role model. A time
where this can be seen is when he tells Romeo he will weep at thy good heart s oppression . Benvolio
is moved by his friend s suffering and is compelled to mourn for

Catholic Teachings On Abortion Persuasive Speech
Welcome back to todays episode of Compass in my Parent Living Room tonight we will be
investigating abortion in Australian society, and how this clashes with the teachings of the Catholic
faith. We will be joined later by Marty, Catholic Father, and he will be providing an insight into the
Catholic opinion on abortion. Lets start s the Program!!
The action of receiving an abortion is heavily condemned within the Catholic Faith. Its believed that
from conception to natural death all life is sacred and the deliberate killing of an unborn human is
morally wrong. Within contemporary Australian society, this belief validity, as many states begin to
pass legislation allowing women to legally to obtain an abortion.
Abortion is one of the most frequently discussed ethical issues inside the catholic faith. The morals
given by the Church clearly prohibit all uses of contraception to halt a pregnancy. The major ethic
which the church teaches is that the process of delivering a child on this planet involves the creative
action of God, therefore it is sacred from the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So Marty What do you believe the are he Catholic teachings on abortion?
Marty First of all when we talk about the church we re really talking about the Vatican or papal
documents, secondly what we are talking about is the Catholic Church of Australia which is different
to the other Catholic Church s, and thirdly the local church which is here in Maroochydore. The
teaching is that all life is sacred and protected and so the Church tells us that we shouldn t be killing
the fetus.
It is evident, that both the Catholic teachings and natural law viciously oppose the termination of a
pregnancy by the use a method of contraception, and especially abortion. Nonetheless, there are some
exceptions within the Catholic Faith that, if applied correctly, can overrule the teachings and allow
women to receive an

European And Non-European Culture In The 1500s And 1600s
Europeans had many goals throughout the 1500s and 1600s. To achieve their goals, they deferred to
the non European culture. However, the question remains how did the Europeans accommodate
themselves to Non European culture? The European traders and missionaries would accommodate
themselves by integrating into the Non European culture, by adapting their physical appearance, by
referring to the traditional practices, and through the response of the nations wants to European goods.
In order for Europe s influence to be successful across the world, they had a guide written by Father
Jean de Brébeuf, called Instructions for The Fathers of Our Society Who Shall Be Sent to The Hurons.
In this small guide, Father Jean, writes instruction for other European members to follow in order to
be successful in their influence in the new world. The thought of being the superior race, followed
them to the new world, so embracing a culture that they thought was low class, was a big change to
the European men. As to the other numerous things which may be unpleasant, they must be endured
for the love of God, without saying anything or appearing to notice them. They did not do anything
that contradicts the Natives belief, as they were trying to convert them to the idealized culture. They
were doing so in a way that the Natives did not realize they were being converted. So, the Europeans
change their normal customs in order to gain their trust. In which they accommodate to non European

music. Rock and roll musicians were not much different from any other Americans in that they were
forced to go through the same hardships as the rest of the people, such as racial discrimination and
unjust government, or Establishment. The main difference is that many of the quot;other people quot;
(the people of everyday society) did not have the same opportunity to express their feelings with the

better than by rock musicians on stage. In their search for something different, the youth and rock
musicians attempted to find a path leading them

Ever Since The Beginning Of The Internet, Technology Has
Ever since the beginning of the Internet, technology has presented itself as a valuable tool for
enhancing collaborative efforts among organizations. In fact, the origins of the Internet came from the
need to collaborate between research and development institutions and the military (Sutton, 2004).
However, as the Internet continues to evolve, recent hardware and software innovations enable
collaboration at an unprecedented level. This paper will explore an example solution that can resolve
some of the current collaboration challenges for a U.S. Army organization, a cost to benefit analysis of
implementing the technology, and some of the concerns that the organization must address before and
after fielding the tool.

As the meeting progresses, each user edits or inserts information into that document in real time based
on conversations throughout the meetings. To further augment and support MS OneNote, the brigade
can leverage the Defense Collaboration Services (DCS) platform. DCS is a web based tool that users
can use to conduct presentations, share files, and conduct white boarding sessions from users at any
location (Pellerin, 2015). In short, DCS enables collaboration at an enterprise level by simply entering
a website address into a web browser. What meeting attendees discuss, share, or develop during a
DCS session goes into OneNote.
Sustainment and Costs to Benefit Analysis
MS OneNote serves as a great solution for the immediate problems of the brigade s staff collaborating
locally at Fort Eustis. Yet, combined with DCS, both tools address the long term, strategic problem
with the 93rd Signal Brigade s 38 geographically separated network enterprise centers. DCS extends
and augments the capabilities over a much wider audience. Since the Army already possesses the
necessary licenses, the initiative does not require funding for implementation. Also, each workstation
on the Army s network already has OneNote installed or and users have open access to the Defense
Collaboration Services.

Former Presidents Reagan, the Bushes and Bill Clinton government, imposed racial projects and racial

Mortality And Morality In Hamlet
Mortality, Morality and Hamlet
Many of the tragedies of William Shakespeare mirror the human experience, if to an inflated scale:
love and interfamilial relationships in Romeo and Juliet, power and guilt (or lack thereof) in Julius
Caesar, and revenge, death and morality in Hamlet. An important theme within these specific facets of
human experience is the idea of suicide, the act of taking one s life. Hamlet is a young and dramatic
prince of Denmark whose father has just been murdered and might have an overdeveloped sense of
vengeance and existentialism, two flaws which lend themselves kindly to the theme of self slaughter.
During the play, Hamlet performs two major soliloquys about his relationship with existence and his
own objections, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this monologue, Hamlet reflects on the inevitable suffering of existence and the uncertainty of
death. He considers whether it is truly better to be alive than dead when life means to suffer the slings
and arrows of outrageous fortune and to stay alive is to live through the possibility of bad experiences
and oppression (III.i.58). Hamlet says that to fight against a sea of troubles of life and luck is to end it,
once and for all, and who would bear all the awfulness of life when they have the ability to make it all
go away (III.i.59)? According to Hamlet, they who are afraid of the undiscovered country from whose
bourn no traveler returns are those who will bear the whips and scorns of time (III.i.70, 79 80). The
one who is afraid of death will endure any treatment in life to avoid the uncertainty that awaits many
after they die that those people are afraid of. The main point of the to be, or not to be soliloquy is that
even when life is inherently full of suffering, people endure because death is unpredictable and they
may be afraid of what faces them in the afterlife. Hamlet also believes that this fear makes even the
bravest people cowards and not many people would put themselves in the position of uncertainty, even
if it means ending

Such a material would be infinitely reusable or recyclable.1 Perfect materials are rare, but in practice, there are a growing number of green materials that reduce or eliminate negative impacts on people and the environment. As manufacturers, building professionals, and owners constantly strive for better buildings, we encourage others in the supply chain to join us in pursuit of a better world. Incorporating green products into a project does not imply sacrifice in performance, or aesthetics, and does not necessarily entail higher cost. While one can spend considerably more for green materials, careful shoppers will find cost competitive environmentally preferable options. For example, a joint US EPA/Army study of more than 2200 paints showed environmentally preferable options cost an average of $1.76 less per gallon 2 gallon. Considerations This booklet offers simple suggestions to help select greener options for a wide array of common materials, and provides references to resources for more detailed information. For materials not included in this document, the checklist in the appendix and the sidebars of pages 2 3 can help you to organize your analysis. The evaluation of materials is based upon three questions: Is the material renewable and resource efficient in its manufacture, installation, use, and disposal? Does the material support the health and well being of occupants, construction personnel, the public, and the environment? The most critical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Film Analysis Of Amour Essay Theme Hiroshima Mon Amour was directed by Alain Resnais and had a script written by Marguerite Duras, who was an author and gave the film a book like feel. This made you feel as if you were reading a story, one of the best ways this is conveyed is through the voiceovers she has. The film takes place in a time period of a post war Hiroshima Japan, and the setting, as well as the time period, plays a major part in this film, by showing the audience views a war torn country as it rebuilds and rebrands itself. As well as how those affected remember or forget the tragedy that shook their city. The main themes explored in this film are the relation of memory and forgetfulness, love and death, he and she being contrasted, pleasure and pain, east and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... And do we also have a duty to keep these events alive so that we pay respect to the ones that lost their lives? War is a complicated topic, and the basis of memory and forgetting resonating throughout that makes it even more of a difficult subject. Can remembering events cause more harm if we are not remembering the events in the full effect, and how do we differentiate our personal feelings from just laying out the facts of what actually occurred? In reality everyone experiences war and tragic events differently. and there is no clear way to remember those events. However trying to understand the aspect of memory and forgetfulness, is very well explained in this film and brings light to just how confusing the subject war and everything that comes along with it can be. Most individuals do not want to remember tragic events, but what if tragic events make it hard to remember, or make it difficult to chose what you want to remember? According to the scholarly journal over History, Memory, and Forgetting translated by Sheena Caldwell, states that individuals do not have a full control over their memories and those memories can be impulsive. Because tragic events are removed from selective memory, which means you are unable to control what you remember. This could explain why she had a breakdown in the bar when she tried to open up to he . She was unable to just tell part of the story, and instead remembered the horrific events that took place when her loved one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Essay Explain How The Coriolis Effect On Ocean Currents 1. Describe four factors that influence ocean currents. The wind, the biggest factor in the creation of surface currents, salinity and temperature differences, affecting density, earth s rotation, when a rotating object collides with another moving force, it created a new motion, solar heating and bottom topography in which the moving water drops out moving the water downward. 2. Explain how the Coriolis Effect impacts ocean currents. The Coriolis Effect is the apparent change in wind direction due to the spin of Earth. It controls wind direction, which in turn influences ocean currents at the surface. They blow to different air pressures. Earth s curvature and axial orientation receive most sunlight so temperatures are higher. Earth rotates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What is upwelling and why is it important to the marine ecosystem? The process by which nutrients and energy resurface is called upwelling. Through upwelling, cold, nutrient rich water rises from the deep ocean to the surface. Upwelling is caused when winds drive the surface waters away from an area. This would help with the survival of marine mammals. 5. Explain the relationship density has on wind currents and ocean currents. A denser material will always fall through a less dense material, or alternatively look at it as the less dense material being more buoyant and thus rising through the denser material. High pressure areas are normally caused by a phenomenon called subsidence, meaning that as the air in the high cools it becomes denser and moves toward the ground. Pressure increases here because more air fills the space left from the low.In the ocean, density driven currents act the same way. The Global Ocean Conveyor Belt is created when very cold, dense ocean water in the North Atlantic descends through the water column. It starts the cycle of pushing the whole thing around the globe. In the warm waters of the equatorial Pacific, waters rise to the surface. 6. Which factor in creating currents has the greatest influence on weather ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. A Brief Note On Information System Security Policy Essay Information System Security Policy Joshua E. Neal Liberty University October 21, 2016 CSIS 341 B01 Fall Information System Security Policy In business today the business process is almost entirely ran using information systems. At the end of the last millennium business spent an estimated five hundred billion dollars fixing the Y2K bug (Svaldi, 2000, p 2048). This is an example of how important the information system has become to the business process. This is why information system security has become such a high priority in corporations today. Think of having a high value company asset left out in the open for anyone to steal. This the equivalent of an information system without proper security. Adequate and sophisticated security structure is not something that falls into place by accident it takes strategic planning and implementation. Building security for an information system demands a broad range of expertise including cryptography, cryptographic protocols, system reliability, organizational and legislative matters (Trcek, 2000, p. 1716) Organizations use a set of rules to define the protocols to access to the information system. This list of protocols is known as security policies. Security consists of a group of standardized polices working together as one document creating the security policy. Researchers have stated the development of information security policies is the first step in the right direction toward preparing an organization to defend ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Goals and Strategies of the Civil Rights Movement Essay African American Civil Rights Movement Throughout the 1960 s, the widespread movement for African American civil rights had transformed in terms of its goals and strategies. The campaign had intensified in this decade, characterized by greater demands and more aggressive efforts. Although the support of the Civil Rights movement was relatively constant, the goals of the movement became more high reaching and specific, and its strategies became less compromising. African Americans struggle for equality during the 1960 s was a relentless movement that used change for progress. In essence, the transformation of the Civil Rights Movement throughout the 1960 s forwarded the evolution of America into a nation of civil equality and freedom. ... The excerpt reads further as a long dissertation of specific goals of the organization, which include black participation in government and economy, defiance against profiteers of slums, and the overall shift to a socialist America. In the socialist train of thought, society is invested in the integrity and economic participation of its people, and, therefore, blacks become almost invaluable to America. Here, each individual is seen as vital to the nation, because, if not, then the whole foundation of the socialist philosophy collapses. And so, it is implied in this document that a change for a new system of government in a new America is needed, which greatly contrasts from simply making people aware of a perfect world with guaranteed civil rights. Another significant transformation took place in the Civil Rights Movement in terms of its strategies. In analyzing this facet of the movement, we notice a great shift from nonviolent demonstration to forward, forceful action. Specifically, at the start of the Civil Rights Movement, lunch counter sit ins were evident throughout the nation, as were Freedom Riders. • 9. Looking Beyond the Surface at Raymond Carver s Cathedral It seems in life that we often look at things without really seeing them. Raymond Carver demonstrates in Cathedral that looking is associated to physical vision, but seeing involves a deeper level of commitment. The author is making the point when you put yourself into someone else s shoes and allow yourself to see things the way they see them, it can be the most rewarding and eye opening experience. During the exposition, the narrator shows that he has no problems with eyesight and he is capable of looking. The narrator is not blind and thinks that because he can see he is better than Robert. Because of Robert s physical blindness the narrator thinks that he is not able to have any kind of normal life. The narrator believes that the ability to see is everything, and puts no effort into looking and seeing anything beyond the surface. He looks at his house, wife, television, and at Robert when he arrives. How ironic is it that Robert, the blind man, has the ability to see on a much deeper level than the narrator? For example, even though Robert cannot physically see the narrator s wife, he understands her a lot more than her husband. He has truly listened to her during the past ten years on the audiotapes she sends him. The only interactions shown between the narrator, the protagonist, and his wife are short exchanges in which he seems to get on her nerves. It is demonstrated in this conflict by Robert, the antagonist, that seeing involves a lot more than just looking. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. The Failure Of The Soviet Union There is a myriad of factors that accounted for the dissolution of the USSR, and the consolidation of capitalist superiority from 1991 onwards after the fall of an autocracy, and demise of a disunited provisional government. The official declaration of the termination of the Soviet Union was December 26 1991; this collapse was addressed by the west as the defeat of communism, and the end of the Cold War. To understand how and why this previously prosperous nation came to fall it is important to look at the major factors contributing to this disarray. I will examine the economic and ethnic problems the Soviet Union faced, as well as the problems with those in power. After the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917, the newly formed government had a philosophy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Communism is described as a theory or system of social organization based on the holding of all property in common, actual ownership being ascribed to the community as a whole or to the state. In some countries this system worked, but what the Soviet Union failed to do was to instill the ideology of Communism into the heart and minds of its population, an anonymous Soviet citizen said, They pretend to pay us and we pretend to work, Showing the lack of motivation amongst the citizens, and lack of enthusiasm in the system. Not only was there no productivity, but also in the middle of the 1980 s approximately seventy percent of industrial output of the Soviet Union was going to the military, causing severe shortages of the industrial goods for the rest of the economy, and failing to meet the needs of the State resulting in acute poverty. • 11. Mandatory Non Medical Funding For Children Entering Public... Choosing to vaccinate or not vaccinate children has become a large topic of contention between parents and medical personnel. Rates of non medical vaccine exemptions for children entering public school continue to increase across the country. This increase has coincided with a resurgence in outbreaks of vaccine preventable diseases, or VPDs (Lynfield, 2014, p.1). There are a variety of reasons why a family might apply for a non medical exemption and the validity of these exemptions varies from state to state. Regardless of the justifiability of an exemption, growing numbers of non vaccinated children entering school will increase the prevalence and mortality from VPDs (Lynfield, 2014, p.2). The recommended vaccinations for children entering kindergarten are 4 doses of diphtheria, tetanus toxoid, and acellular pertussis (DTaP), 2 doses of the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine, and 2 doses of the varicella vaccine. The national Healthy People 2020 goal for kindergarten vaccination rates is 95%. Although the majority of states report vaccination rates at or near the goal, clusters of non vaccinated groups can develop in some communities (Seither, 2014, p.1). Anthropological studies showed that the higher rates of non vaccination correlated with outbreaks of diseases for which children typically receive vaccines. In reaction to numerous outbreaks related to higher rates of non vaccinated children, California and other states introduced legislation to make it more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

An Explanation of Accounting System Tracking of Revenue amp; Expenses By Alan Li, eHow Contributor Nominal accounts are closed out at the end of each accounting time period. In accounting, the accounts that record the values of individual items and phenomenons can be divided into either real or nominal accounts. • 15. The Garden City By Ebenezer Howard In the late 19th century, utopian ideals ran rampant as a response to the unsustainable situation caused by the rise of industrialization. The poverty and squalor people were experiencing caused them to embrace extreme Utopian ideas. They believed that it could potentially take them out of their current condition. Utopia, though, is difficult to define, but within the context of this time period it is defined as a belief in the perfectibility of humanity a basic goodness in human nature (Tarlow, 301). By this definition, one of the only ideas of this time period that was truly utopian was the Garden City Movement. The Garden City Concept was created by Ebenezer Howard in 1898. The ideas of it are outlined in Howard s book: Garden Cities of To morrow. It is utopian in both how it was conceived and the general concept. Its focus on collaboration, social change, and pragmatism rather than on rebellious escapism made it a revolutionary idea that still continues to influence city planning to this day. To better understand the reasoning behind Howard s garden city concept, it is important to examine the impact of the industrial revolution on London and all of Britain. The rise of industrialization caused the urban population to grow as many left the rural countryside to seek new jobs. Industrialization led to a period of economic prosperity, but the cities often had unsuitable waste disposals and polluted water supplies. In addition, there was a housing issue and there were ... Anemia involves a decrease in both hemoglobin concentration and the number of erythrocytes in the blood. As a result, the condition causes a decrease in the blood s oxygen carrying capacity. On the other hand, bleeding disorders involve heavy and continuous loss of blood. They are often classified into coagulation disorders and platelet disorders. Moreover, bone marrow biopsy revealed low iron stores and megaloblastic changes. The results also showed normal levels of B12 but low levels of red cell folate and serum folate. The patient, therefore, demonstrated an overall lack of iron in his blood, which suggested the presence of anemia involving iron deficiency. Basically, iron deficiency decreases ferritin and decreases iron stores in the bone marrow, which in turn causes the production of abnormal erythrocytes (Yadav et al., 2016). Therefore, further assessment of the patient requires the identification of brittle nails, angular cheilitis, and glossitis, which are associated with iron deficiency. Based on the laboratory findings, the most likely diagnosis of the patient s condition is iron deficiency anemia. Accordingly, the patient can be managed in several ways. First, the patient should be advised to discontinue alcohol intake. Iron deficiency in the patient should be evaluated further, particularly by performing a thorough gastrointestinal examination. Moreover, sixty mg of iron should be administered three times every day to promote the normalization of Hct. In the case of unresponsiveness or intolerance to the dose, alternative therapies like the use of iron sucrose and ferric gluconate are indicated. Suitable antibiotic combinations have also been shown to reverse iron deficiency in patients suffering from atrophic gastritis that is associated with Helicobacter pylori (Miernyk et al., ... The doctors ran many tests and took a lot of blood. I was diagnosed with chronic Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura, otherwise known as ITP. ITP is an auto immune blood disorder that is caused by an untreated viral infection or immune system suppression caused by vaccinations and can be life altering. Symptoms of ITP can range dramatically from patient to patient. One of the many symptoms is low blood platelet count. Blood platelets are important for the body: they essentially form clots in the blood to stop bleeding. (3: SV: SV.) According to Michael A. Silverman, author of the article Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura posted on Medscape, Relative marrow failure may contribute to this condition, since studies show that most patients have either normal or diminished platelet production (1). In other words, a delayed making of marrow is present in most patients with ITP and aids in this disease. Because of this, blood platelets cannot be made as accurately as a normal body would make them. Other symptoms include easy bruising and petechiae (Idiopathic 1). Easy bruising can result from blood vessels becoming weak; consequently, the slightest touch can break them, forming a bruise. (1a: SV; consequently, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Bayard Rustin who was a civil rights and African American activist for nonviolence spoke out against the Black Power movement. Bayard Rustin understood what the movement was trying to achieve but ultimately criticized the movement for being divisive of the American people. Rustin believed that the movement had revealed two Americas, one black, and one white. Since the term black power did not have a concise definition some whites interpreted the term as an expression of a new racism. 47 On the other hand, blacks defined it as a signal to whites that blacks would no longer tolerate their violent treatment. Due to the tension the movement created Rustin deemed the Black Power movement as a threat to the civil rights movement. Rustin said that the Black Power movement diverts the (civil rights) movement from a meaningful debate over strategy and tactics, it isolates the Negro community, and it encourages the growth of anti Negro forces. 48 This tension would hinder the civil rights movement from moving forward. In Sir Gawain and the Green Knight , the author pokes fun at the court s values of chivalry. During the second half of the 14th century, when the story takes place, chivalry dictates their ranks and their everyday life. Chivalry in the 14th century was based on religion and honoring everyone. A knight that is chivalrous would be religious, protect the weak and defenseless, to live by honer and for glory, to guard the honor of all other knights, to always tell the truth and to be respectful of women. The Green knight takes three swings at Sir Gawain, the first because the knight was of Lighthearted sport (line 324), this meant that he was only swinging because of their deal. The second swing was for the two kisses he received from the green knight s wife. He received the third and final stroke because he did not give the Lord the last gift, the sash. These two men, while friends, are quite different one being a bad role model, and the other being a good one. Romeo, although a romantic and very lovable character, is not a good role model for various reasons. In the beginning of the play, we know that Romeo was crying for Rosaline because she was supposedly the most beautiful girl in the world and his love for her was unrequited. Another time we see this is when he is banished for killing Tybalt and goes to Friar Laurence and does nothing but cry. Romeo can also be seen as hasty. He doesn t think throughwhat he does, and this could likely be because he is a romantic. The group of hippies proclaimed itself an quot;alternative society, quot; and favored very simple and communal living which included free experimentation with drugs, free experimentation of sex, and a strong commitment to quot;peace and love. quot; These political and social changes such as the civil rights movements and the new quot;counter culture quot; had lasting effects on one specific element of the decade: rock and roll music. Rock and roll musicians were not much different from any other Americans in that they were forced to go through the same hardships as the rest of the people, such as racial discrimination and unjust government, or Establishment. The main difference is that many of the quot;other people quot; (the people of everyday society) did not have the same opportunity to express their feelings with the world. The frustration with racism and prejudice was blatantly obvious in many acts due to the genre s increasing aggression and hostility. Also, the country s cry for peace and love was exemplified no better than by rock musicians on stage. In their search for something different, the youth and rock musicians attempted to find a path leading them ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Ever Since The Beginning Of The Internet, Technology Has Ever since the beginning of the Internet, technology has presented itself as a valuable tool for enhancing collaborative efforts among organizations. In fact, the origins of the Internet came from the need to collaborate between research and development institutions and the military (Sutton, 2004). However, as the Internet continues to evolve, recent hardware and software innovations enable collaboration at an unprecedented level. This paper will explore an example solution that can resolve some of the current collaboration challenges for a U.S. Army organization, a cost to benefit analysis of implementing the technology, and some of the concerns that the organization must address before and after fielding the tool. Background By ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As the meeting progresses, each user edits or inserts information into that document in real time based on conversations throughout the meetings. To further augment and support MS OneNote, the brigade can leverage the Defense Collaboration Services (DCS) platform. DCS is a web based tool that users can use to conduct presentations, share files, and conduct white boarding sessions from users at any location (Pellerin, 2015). In short, DCS enables collaboration at an enterprise level by simply entering a website address into a web browser. What meeting attendees discuss, share, or develop during a DCS session goes into OneNote. Sustainment and Costs to Benefit Analysis MS OneNote serves as a great solution for the immediate problems of the brigade s staff collaborating locally at Fort Eustis. Yet, combined with DCS, both tools address the long term, strategic problem with the 93rd Signal Brigade s 38 geographically separated network enterprise centers. DCS extends and augments the capabilities over a much wider audience. Since the Army already possesses the necessary licenses, the initiative does not require funding for implementation. Also, each workstation on the Army s network already has OneNote installed or and users have open access to the Defense Collaboration Services. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A New Form Of Convict Leasing 010, U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics showed that black males had an imprisonment rate of close to seven times the incarceration rate of white men with the rate of incarceration for black women nearly three times the rate of white women (5). Human Rights Watch noted in a 2009 study; blacks are arrested at a higher rate than whites even though blacks commit drug offenses far less than whites (6). Former Presidents Reagan, the Bushes and Bill Clinton government, imposed racial projects and racial profiling cast new forms of racialized social control on black s communities reminiscent of the days of slavery of the 1700 s and 1865s Jim Crow laws. The only difference in the 20th century is there are no lynch mobs. However, a new form of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Irony is drug possession is a crime every drug user commits and, in the United States, most drug users are white, yet a white drug user is not arbitrarily racially profiled, stopped and frisked at the same rate as blacks and other minorities. Also, white drug users may be given a warning by police to get help for their addiction problem if their perceived recreational drug use is out of control. The U.S. Public Health Service Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration reported in 1992 that 76% of drug users in the United States were white, 14% were African American, and 8% were Hispanic (6). Cocaine users were estimated to be 66% white, 17.6% Black, and 15.9% Hispanic. Which demonstrated patterns of use that don t approach arrest disparities, as African Americans are less likely to use drugs than whites. There is also no sufficient evidence to conclude that African Americans are more likely to deal drugs, yet blacks more likely to be arrested for drug possession, nor are whites frisked at the same rate as blacks other minorities. For example, an obese person is more likely to have other conditions such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and diabetes. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention CDC (2015) reports that some risk factors are modifiable such as smoking, and diet, while others are non modifiable such as age and family history. Approximately 47% of all Americans have at least one of the three major risk factors for CVD; high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and smoking (CDC, 2015). Diet intake is one of the risk factor that can be modified. High cholesterol which refers to low density lipoprotein (LDL) is regarded as the bad cholesterol since it ... • 37. Mortality And Morality In Hamlet Mortality, Morality and Hamlet Many of the tragedies of William Shakespeare mirror the human experience, if to an inflated scale: love and interfamilial relationships in Romeo and Juliet, power and guilt (or lack thereof) in Julius Caesar, and revenge, death and morality in Hamlet. An important theme within these specific facets of human experience is the idea of suicide, the act of taking one s life. Hamlet is a young and dramatic prince of Denmark whose father has just been murdered and might have an overdeveloped sense of vengeance and existentialism, two flaws which lend themselves kindly to the theme of self slaughter. During the play, Hamlet performs two major soliloquys about his relationship with existence and his own objections, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this monologue, Hamlet reflects on the inevitable suffering of existence and the uncertainty of death. He considers whether it is truly better to be alive than dead when life means to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune and to stay alive is to live through the possibility of bad experiences and oppression (III.i.58). Hamlet says that to fight against a sea of troubles of life and luck is to end it, once and for all, and who would bear all the awfulness of life when they have the ability to make it all go away (III.i.59)? According to Hamlet, they who are afraid of the undiscovered country from whose bourn no traveler returns are those who will bear the whips and scorns of time (III.i.70, 79 80). The one who is afraid of death will endure any treatment in life to avoid the uncertainty that awaits many after they die that those people are afraid of. The main point of the to be, or not to be soliloquy is that even when life is inherently full of suffering, people endure because death is unpredictable and they may be afraid of what faces them in the afterlife. Hamlet also believes that this fear makes even the bravest people cowards and not many people would put themselves in the position of uncertainty, even if it means ending ...
