Nature controls the plot of Mary Shelley s book, Frankenstein. The events that
happen in the book are seasonally based making it easily predictable. Victor creates
the monster in the fall when everything is dying and coming to an end. Victor
awakens in the spring when the monster is gone and nature begins a new year of
life. Victor s biggest mistake is his ambition. By playing God and controlling
nature, trying to preventing death, Victor starts a series of misfortunes for himself
and the people he loves. Victor and the monster struggle to find their places in the
world and look toward nature for comfort and guidance. Nature cures Victor several
times from near death. When Victor creates the monster he realizes what he has
done and becomes extremely sick. Victor writes in his letter to Elizabeth, my health

In the book Catch 22 by Joseph Heller, nearly all of the characters in the book serve
as foils toward the main character Yossarian. The central idea of Catch 22 that
Joseph Heller is trying is prove is that war is crazy and pointless. He shows this with
the fact that all of the character in the book except for Yossarianand Orr are crazy.
One of the very important foils in this book is Dunbar, who is Yossarians closest

Dunbar as a foil to Yossarian is shown in many ways, one of which being that they
both have a twisted sense of humor which only they understand. A way this is
shown is with their ironic fear of death, in which they fail to understand why
people are shooting at them. Heller uses Dunbar s sheer will to keep surviving in
the face of death as a comparison to Yossarian. It is a comparison because Dunbar
keeps trying to extend his life, like Yossarian, but eventually gives up hope and goes

Children of Men and The Road on the Ethics of Survival In films depicting
worldwide disaster, the audience is shown the lengths the protagonists will go in
order to survive. While doing so, man s values are often put to the test and there is a
drastic shift in ethics when human civilization has collapsed. This occurs in both
Children of Men and The Road. Both films show its characters travel through various
locations with the belief that they will be safer in a new and different environment,

On that viscerally vibrant Friday morning, in that urbanized oasis, a group of
primarily Black and Hispanic students united at El Cerrito High School to discuss

Evidence Based Reasoning Essay
This essay will discuss my understanding and use of using evidence based
reasoning, and my understanding and use of pursuing scholarly inquiry. Firstly,
what is evidence based reasoning? Evidence based reasoning to me, is using
information that is credible, and that has used methodology such as surveys,
experiments, control groups, tests etc. that support the claims they are making.
Evidence based reasoning is backed up by factual statistics and/or information.
Evidence based reasoning is also not one sided. Evidence based reasoning does not
start with a claim then find sources that support it, but evidence based reasoning
starts with the research information to in the end conclude / make a claim about a

I also did not just use 1 source to be the basis of my paper, I utilized all of the
sources and look at the consistencies and inconsistencies amongst them to
determine which facts had a lot of factual evidence based backing and which
statements / facts didn t. That is one of the most important things about evidence
based reasoning, the analyzation of facts and statements the researcher used to get
to those claims. I did this in my paper by stating the methodology type, looking at
the numbers such as a group of around 50 vs a group of around 300, looking at the

constraints of different work shifts. In the organization, face to face interaction was
difficult to share the tacit knowledge with people working in 2 different shifts

Stevenson did not describe Mr. Richard Enfield other than to state that he was a

profile sheet reflects a panoramic view of my alignment to some of those

of view. The narrator is an anonymous bystander but seems to know everything about
all the characters their thoughts, feeling, and motives. The mysterious narrator

mainly heard of when a change in government occurred or in a war like the American
Revolution. The Industrial Revolution was a time of change through technology.
During the Second Industrial Revolution, new inventions were created to change the
way of life. The light bulb was created and the factory business was revived. The
telephone was created and news was spread faster than it ever had. Airplanes and
trains were created and the transportation business was renewed. Although
