As earlier, no site development as well as construction can begin until EC is obtained. Of built up area # # The built up area for the purpose of this Notification is defined as “the built up or covered area on all the floors put together including basement(s) and other service areas, which are proposed in the building /construction projects” 8(b) Townships and Area Development Projects - Covering an area > 50 ha. and or built up area > 1,50,000 sqm. ++ ++ All projects under Item 8(b) shall be appraised as Category B1. RL Meena_JMEPL BUILDING / CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS / AREA DEVELOPMENTBUILDING / CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS / AREA DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS AND TOWNSHIPS PROJECTS OR ACTIVITIES REQUIRINGPROJECTS AND TOWNSHIPS PROJECTS OR ACTIVITIES REQUIRING PRIOR ENVIRONMENTAL CLEARANCEPRIOR ENVIRONMENTAL CLEARANCE Project or Activity Category with Threshold Limit Conditions if any Category A Category B 7(c) Industrial estates / parks / complexes / areas, Export Processing Zones (EPZs), Special Economic Zones (SEZs), Biotech parks, Leather Complexes 1. If at least one industry in the proposed industrial estate falls under the Category A, entire industrial area shall be treated as Category A irrespective of the area. 2. Industrial estates with area greater than 500 ha. and housing at least one Category B industry. 1. Industrial estates housing at least one Category B industry and area <500 ha. 2. Industrial estates of area> 500 ha. and not housing any industry belonging to Category A or B. Special conditions shall apply Note: - Industrial estate of area below 500ha. and not housing any industry of Category ‘A’ or ‘B’ does not require clearance - If the area is less than 500ha. But contains building and construction projects >20,000 sq. mt and or development area more than 50ha it will be treated as activity listed at serial no. 8(a) or 8(b) in the Schedule, as the case may be.
