COASTAL REGULATION ZONE NOTIFICATION - 2011
ഉദേശയ ലക്ഷയങ്ങൾ
The CRZ provides a spatial planning framework for Coastal Zone
Management Plans which provide setbacks around sensitive
ecosystems thus restricting development and other activities in
proximity to it.
ആദ്ദഗാള താരനത്താൽ സമുപ്ദ നിരപ് ഉയരുകയും തദവാരായുള്ള
ദുരര സാധയതയും രരിഗണിച്ചുള്ള സുസ്ഥിര വികസനം
 To promote development in a sustainable manner based on scientific principles, taking
into account the dangers of natural hazards in the coastal areas and sea level rise due
to global warming
ശാസ്പ്തീയമായ തതവങ്ങൾ അവലംബിച്ച് സുസ്ഥിര
വികസന പ്രവത്തനങ്ങൾ രൂരടപെുത്തുക.
മത്സ്യടതാഴിലാളികൾക്കും തീരദ്ദദശത്തു വസിക്കുന്ന മറ്റു
പ്രാദ്ദദശിക സമൂഹത്തിനും ജീവിത മാർഗം ഉറപാക്കുക.

തീരദേശ നിയപ്രണ ദേഖലകൾ
ദ്ദവലിയിറക്ക ദ്ദരഖയിൽ നിന്നും കെലിദ്ദലക്ക് 12 ദ്ദനാട്ടിക്കൽ മമൽ ദൂരം
വടരയുള്ള ജലപ്രദ്ദദശം.
 The water and the bed area between the LTL to the territorial water limit (12 Nm) in case of sea and
the water and the bed area between LTL at the bank to the LTL on the opposite side of the bank, of
tidal influenced water body.
ദ്ദവലിദ്ദയറ്റ പ്രഭാവമുള്ള ജലാശയങ്ങളിലും രുഴകളിലും ദ്ദതാെുകളിലും അവയുടെ
ദ്ദവലിദ്ദയറ്റ ദ്ദരഖ മുതൽ കര ഭാഗദ്ദത്തക്ക് 100 മീറ്റദ്ദറാ അവയുടെ വീതിദ്ദയാ
ഏതാദ്ദണാ ടെറുത് അതും.
 Land area between HTL to 100 mts or width of the creek whichever is less on the landward side
along the tidal influenced water bodies that are connected to the sea.
കെൽ തീരടത്ത ദ്ദവലിദ്ദയറ്റ ദ്ദരഖ മുതൽ കരഭാഗദ്ദത്തക് 500 m ദൂരരരിധി.
 The land area falling between the high tide line and 500mts from HTL on the landward side.
ദ്ദവലിദ്ദയറ്റ ദ്ദരഖയ്ക്കും ദ്ദവലിയിറക്ക ദ്ദരഖയ്ക്കും മദ്ദയയ വരുന്ന ഭാഗത്താണ് അരർ

 The Islands within backwater the CRZ landward is limited to 50m.
കായൽ തുരുത്തുകളിൽ ദ്ദവലിദ്ദയറ്റ ദ്ദരഖയിൽ നിന്നും രരമാവധി 50m ആയി CRZ
നിെടപെുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

Low Tide Line (LTL) and the Territorial Limit (12Nm) form the setback lines towards
the sea.
ദവലിദയറ്റ ദരഖ : സ്പ്രിംഗ് മെഡ് സമയത്ത് ജലനിരടപത്തുന്ന
ഏറ്റവും ഉയർന്ന തീര ദ്ദരഖ.
High Tide Line – HTL (Line on the land upto which the highest water line reaches
during the spring tide) forms the cardinal reference line for determining the setbacks.
200m, 500m നിയപ്രണ ദ്ദരഖകൾ
100, 200 and 500m CRZ lines landward from the HTL are the landward setbacks.

TIDAL INFLUENCE
ദ്ദവലിദ്ദയറ്റ പ്രഭാവമുള്ള ജലാശയങ്ങളിൽ അതിന്ടെ സവാധീനം എപ്ത
ദൂരം വടര എന്നതിന്ടറ അെിസ്ഥാനത്തിലാണ് വികസന
പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾക്ക് നിയപ്രണം ഏർടപെുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്.
Distance up to which CRZ is applicable upstream of estuaries, creeks, backwaters
and lagoons depends on the extent of tidal influence.

േുനിസിപ്പൽ രരിധിയിൽ വരുന്ന പ്രദ്ദദശങ്ങൾ, അടെങ്കിൽ നിലവിൽ
നിയരരമായി നിർദ്ദേശിക്കടപട്ടിട്ടുള്ളതും ആധുനിക സൗകരയങ്ങദ്ദളാെുകൂെിയ
രാതകൾ, മലിനജല നിർഗമന സംവിധാനങ്ങൾ മറ്റു അെിസ്ഥാനസൗകരയങ്ങൾ

The areas that have already been developed up to or close to the shoreline.
For this purpose, "developed area" is referred to as that area within the municipal limits or in
other legally designated urban areas which is already substantially built up and which has
been provided with drainage and approach roads and other infrastructural facilities.

 Small portion of Thanneermukkam GP merged into Cherthala Municipality.
 Harippad GP, parts of Pallippadu, Chingoly and Karthikappally GP were merged
together and formed the Harippad Municipality. So the CRZ land of HTL for these
local bodies in CZMP is CRZ II.
 A portion of Krishnapuram GP merged with Kayamkulam Municipality and the CRZ
landward of HTL is CRZ II in CZMP.
 Arappas (tidal influenced creeklet) were not considered in CZMP 1996, However the
salinity of Arappas in Cherthala south, Punnappra North, Punnappra South, Purakkad,
Trikunnapuzha Mararrikulam North, Alapuzha Municipality and Mararikulam south
were more than 5 ppt, so these Arappas has been considered in CZMP.

Corporation and the CRZ landward of HTL in Trikadavoor is CRZ II.
 Kunnathur Grama Panchayath was not under CZMP 1996, but the tidal
influence (salinity 5ppt) in Kallada river extends further upstream about 12km in
Kunnathur Grama Panchayat).
 Pavithreswaram Grama Panchayath was not under CZMP 1996, but the tidal
influence (salinity 5ppt) in Kallada river extends further upstream about 12km.
 A very small portion (less than 200m) of Kallada River was part of CRZ as per
CZMP 1996. Currently the tidal influence of Kallada River extends further
upstream about 12km and hence CRZ areas within Sasthamkotta Grama
Panchayat bordering Kallada River has been included under the purview of
CRZ in new CZMP (as per CRZ Notification 2011).
 Certain areas in Nedupana GP fall along the banks of the kayal extension of
Kottakkayal which is influenced by tide from Ithikkara River
