Pros And Cons Of Robots
Robots are becoming more and more advanced. As employers implement more automation, it is likely
that many will lose their jobs to a robot. Robots have already been employed in many industries
successfully especially in manufacturing. This automation improves the productivity in manufacturing
and in effect, reduces the costs to make products. Manufacturing jobs now populated by people have
many Musculoskeletal disease risk factors. With the application of robots, workers will not have to put
themselves at risk for personal injury caused by MSD s. Research shows that repetitive work can
cause musculoskeletal diseases in humans, but fortunately, robots are starting to acquire the tedious,
manual labor jobs that enhance these diseases more; therefore, robots are seen as an ethical
improvement to job safety and wellness. Musculoskeletal diseases are the leading cause of disability
in the United States. MSD s are diseases that affect the muscles, bones, and any connecting tissue ,
and they cause chronic pains and mobility issues. In the workforce, there are MSD risk factors that
contribute to the onset or advancement of MSD s. They include heavy lifting, rapidly and or
repeatedly doing the same tasks, awkward positions, vibrations, bodily impacts, etc.[1]. There are
many occupations that put workers at risk for MSD s especially labor intensive jobs. The pain and
immobility that can be caused by MSD s lower the quality of life of occupants and cause reduced
productivity. When an

An Study On Territoriality And Intrusion On Public Spaces
This study focuses in on the topic of territoriality and intrusion in public spaces; more specifically this
study focuses in on the effect of families with children on territoriality and intrusion in public spaces
(e.g. parking lots). Territoriality can be defined as the protection of a temporary created space, wherein
the creator of the space claims ownership and occupancy on the area. We operationally defined
territoriality: it is the time it takes for a participant (driver) to contact with the car (start timer) to the
time (in seconds) it takes for the participant s front bumper to leave the parking space. This definition
can also be stated as departure time.
Intrusion can be defined as the presence of an intruder who has the desire to enter a temporary created
space that is owned by another person. Intrusion is operationally defined so that when the participant
comes into contact with their vehicle, the participant understands that there is another driver(s) who
will take their claimed parking space right after they leave.
Our hypothesis is that families with children will take more time (more territorial) to leave a parking
space. The opposite will also be true, participants without children will take less time to leave a
parking space while the trend of increased territoriality because of intrusion remains for both
scenarios. The importance in the exploration into the effect of children of territoriality and intrusion
could lead to a more fruitful exploration into

Inclusive Education in South Africa
The Zulu tribe of South Africa is the largest ethnic group in the country and its language is the most
frequently used of all in South Africa. (Hamlett) The tribe was first discovered when Portugal settled
the land, and since then the tribe and its relationships with the colonists is anything but peaceful, and
to this day there still is tension. Maybe because of this, the education system throughout the 1900 s
refused to allow for the teaching of African culture other than stereotypes and other inaccurate
information that the colonists approved. The Zulu tribe s lack of education and the use of non native
languages in school paired with its relationship toward further discrimination later in life is an
indication that not teaching indigenous culture leads to real world discrimination. South Africa was
segregated until 1994 and therefore is not the epitome of racial tolerance, but it is the treatment of
education of their indigenous tribe the Zulu that shows that education controlled by one culture will
lead to further segregation and worse conditions for the races out of the loop. Now, the last four
presidents of South Africa were black and the current one is Zulu but even with influence in the
highest office the tribe is unable to find work or make a life that is comparable to their white
counterparts. The discrimination of education has led to longer consequences than the segregation and
disenfranchisement because now there are generations of natives unable to compete

Hour Bow Research Paper
The book Clothing and Fashion: American Fashion from Head to Toe defines Hourglass figure as
follows, The hourglass shape was a feature of woman s dress for most of the 19th century. This shape
included the rounded breasts, a slender waist, and padding the hips (Blanco 161). After World War II
Christian Dior had created what was known as the New Look, the look was iconic for emphasising a
woman s hourglass shaped figure, later becoming a worldwide popular trend. Although, this wasn t the
first time this silhouette was popular, the hourglass shape can be traced back to mid 1800 s when

that have some sort of waistband or seam that tightens around the natural waistline, hence drawing
attention to the slimmer part of the body, the waist. Woman who take towards this trend are typically
comfortable/proud of their feminine figure, enjoy dressing in feminine attire, and enjoy having the
sensual appeal of a tighter garment that accentuates their small waist.. Economics of this time are

Environmental Problems Facing The Earth
Patton, Cade
AP Environmental Science
The biggest environmental problem that faces Earth today is pollution. There are a bunch types of
pollution on planet Earth but by far air pollution is the deadliest. Air pollution can inhibit the breathing
of living organisms. Many major companies including Exxonmobil and Bp who are leading the air
pollution race with a Exxonmobil averaging 39 million tons of emissions. These emissions are
released into the air by the process of making gasoline and chemicals. The second biggest
environmental problem Earth faces each year is the decrease of natural resources. When it comes to
natural resources the depletion of fossil fuels and deforestation are destroying the planet.
Deforestation is the removal of trees in a wide area to the point of where it s almost not a forest
anymore. On the other hand the depletion of fossil fuels is scary because fossil fuels are a
nonrenewable resource. They are nonrenewable because they are being used up faster than they are
being created. And it can take up to millions of years for more fossil fuels to be created. And finally
for my third pick of the biggest environmental problems facing the Earth is the depletion of its Ozone
layer. Some chemicals named Chlorine and bromine are in the atmosphere and are deteriorating the
Ozone layer which consists of three hydrogen atoms.

Literary Devices Used in Albert Camus The Plague
A book of horrors, fear and death. The Plague is a book by Albert Camus which weaves these
emotions and events into one suspenseful tale. Each paragraph and section is written and structured in
such a way as to give the reader insight into the feelings of the victims of the plague, and to show
somewhat of a theme. The passage from section 4, part 4, line number 1 to line number 35 gives us a
glimpse of the melancholy of the people of Oran to their dead loved ones to the extent that they do not
attend All Souls Day, for they were thinking of them too much as it was. Albert Camus fills this
passage with figurative devices, including, diction, personification, pathetic fallacy, metaphors, irony
and a turning point. The first two paragraphs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Diction is seen to be used greatly in conveying the suitability of the town for All Souls Day. Pathetic
Fallacy is also used to portray the message by Albert Camus. Also, the cool wind , big clouds...trailing
shadows , glossy and oiled clothing give the impression of a cool, damp shadowy day, with clothing
mimicking this, portraying the psychology of the people of Oran when they are in melancholy for their
loved ones. However, from around the third paragraph onwards, a turning point is seen. As previously
suggested, it was a suitable time of the year for mourning and All Souls Day, but ironically this did not
occur. Albert Camus devices and literary intelligence make it very clear that the melancholy of the
town was to the extent that All Souls Day was neglected. It is seen by a turning point, But these
familiar aspects of All Souls Day could not make us forget that the cemeteries were left unvisited .
This turning point suggests that All Souls Day did not occur as it was previously suggested through
earlier devices, mainly due to the already prevalent grief towards the dead. Albert Camus metaphors
clearly clarifies this, they (the dead) were no longer the forsaken to whom...you came to justify
yourself and they (the dead) were intruders whom you would rather forget .Also, these metaphors give
insight to the attitude of the townspeople towards their dead, that the extended period of thinking and
grief over their dead has caused them not

Afghanistan is a landlocked, multiethnic country located towards the heart of south central Asia, and is
primarily Islamic. The country itself is composed mostly of rugged, mountainous terrain due to the
presence of the Hindu Kush mountain range, which divides the country between the arid deserts south
of the Hindu Kush, and the more nutrient rich farmlands in the north. There are two main ethnicities:
Pashtun, who reside primarily south of the Hindu Kush and the Tajik, who are primarily dispersed in
the valleys to the north of Kabul. The dominant languages spoken are Pashto, spoken by the Pashtun,

Informative Speech On Hypnosis
My dad had taken my best friend, his brother, and me to a hypnosis show. At the time I thought that
hypnotism couldn t be real, and that he pays people to say as he does. He asks for volunteers, and of
course my dad s brother volunteers and is chosen. He then starts following the commands, tapping,
snoring, and dancing. Watching a six foot tall, 200 pound man dance in front of hundreds of people
may have changed my mind, and unless he was on payroll, hypnosis had to be real. So what is
hypnosis, what are common misconceptions and myths, and what are different types of hypnosis?
Today I will be answering these three questions.
Hypnosis is one to the most controversial and misunderstood way of psychological healing. It gives
you the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although the hypnotist isn t picking at random he s searching for the easiest, and most willing
volunteers, because his or her job is to put on a show. Also the way the hypnotist presents them self is
key. If they were to say they were a part time actor and will pretend to be a hypnotist it is going to be
nearly impossible to hypnotize anyone. But if they say they are a famous hypnotist, who has traveled
the world changing lives, and who can hypnotize the audience in 1 minute, almost 90% of the people
will already be in hypnosis, according to self hypnosis. The last type of hypnosis I will be talking
about, which to me is the most intriguing form of hypnotherapy, is past life regression. This technique
helps practitioners uncover memories of their past lives. By uncovering these memories, you are able
to find out why you are the way you are. If you are having trouble in your current life that has no
direct cause, the goal is to find out the root cause of the issue from your past life or incarnation.
Whether you are strictly religious or not, past life regression helps you gain an awareness that you are
more than just a physical body.
Now that you are aware of what hypnosis is and the different forms of it, let s talk about common
myths and misconceptions people have about hypnosis. Number one, the hypnotist can make you do
something against your will. This is completely wrong, hypnotist only guide you to places, and if there

Post-WW II Occupation
In concluding his book on World War II in the Pacific, Eagle Against the Sun, Ronald H. Spector
stated that, The United States acquired a strong democratic ally in the new Japan which emerged from
the wreckage of war. 1 Following the Japanese surrender on September, 2, 1945, General Douglas
MacArthur, the Supreme Commander Allied Powers (SCAP) in Japan, led the largely unilateral U.S.
effort to rebuild Japan. The U.S. occupation and reconstruction met with varying degrees of political,
social and economic success, but overall, the U.S. succeeded in developing Japan as a strong
responsible power in the Pacific. Additionally, studying the whole of government methods for the U.S.

At the end of the war, Japanese citizens occupied numerous countries in the Western Pacific, while
countless Chinese and Koreans resided within Japan as slave labor. At the time Japan had no vessels
or other manner in which to conduct the mass movement of these populations. Under U.S. supervision
and with hundreds of ships borrowed from the U.S., six million Japanese returned to Japan within
three years; and nearly one million Chinese and Koreans returned to their respective countries in the
same timeframe.5 In the end the combined U.S. and Japanese social reconstruction efforts successfully
resolved the challenges facing the population. The U.S. economic effort was not as widely successful
in comparison to the political and social efforts, but there were several successes that ultimately set the
conditions for Japan s rise to a top world economy. The 1947 Land Reform Program, which essentially
consisted of the government purchase and redesignation of land that was then resold to tenant farmers,
is seen as the single most important factor for quelling rural discontent and promoting political
stability in the early postwar period. 6 Efforts to re energize the natural resources successfully
stabilized the coal mining and fishing industries. Coal mining suffered from a removal of inexpensive
labor with the repatriation of Chinese and Korean slaves, but the introduction

A Study On The Luxury Hotel Industry
CHAPTER 4. RESEARCH
Overview
This chapter will discuss the methodology used to enhance the study, and justifies it as a fitting
process for the subject of the paper. This chapter opens explaining qualitative methodology and why it
is the chosen method for the study. Then, after, it details the process of data collection.
Qualitative Methodology
The research question of this study concerns how the luxury hotel industry can adapt to Chinese
conceptualizations and consumer behavior. As the study focuses on culture and values, and how they
are represented in Chinese actions and expectations, qualitative methods were determined to be the
best process to understand the issue. We find cultural studies are thoroughly grounded in qualitative
research due to its roots in disciplines such as anthropology. [Atkinson 2005]
Qualitative research is defined as a study that uses nonnumeric data in the form of words (Schwandt,
2001), and provides an interpretive view that in comparison to quantitative research provides different
strategies of inquiry through techniques such as interviews, focus groups, and ethnography.
Qualitative methods allow the researcher to study individuals, consider and discover processes, as well
as learn about the general culture sharing behavior of the subjects or individuals studied (Creswell
2009)
As the study focused on the impact culture has on consumer behavior, the method of qualitative
research chosen were interview styled questions. This is the best

Nature s Response To Nature In Poetry
Three poets have responded to each others poems. Christopher Marlowe, Sir Walter Raleigh, and
William Carlos Williams have said there opinions in nature s role in providing for humanity. Marlowe
had a very gentle approach with nature, while Raleigh and Williams have more of a negative and
abrasive approach toward nature s role in providing. The three poets have came and showed their
opinions through three individual poems.
Marlowe, who wrote The passionate Shepherd to his Love , has a very positive connection to nature.
In his poem he says A cap of flowers, and a kirtle embroidered all with leaves of myrtle. This means
how he wants the kirtle embroidered all with the finest leaves of myrtle for his love. The way that he
describes nature shows his great interest at the time with nature. The way he uses gentle and tranquil
words to describe nature shows his soft relationship. All of the gifts that tries to persuade his love with
all have a relation to nature. For example, the gown that he offers will be made from the finest wool
from a pretty lamb. Another example is how Marlowe talks about how he is going to make her a bed
of roses, yet another reference to nature to persuade his love in coming to be with him. In addition,
Marlowe s structure of the poem is also very important to the meaning of the poem. Marlowe s poem
has six stanzas that each contain four lines. The poem meter is stressed unstressed, and the rhyme
scheme of the poem is AABB. In his poem, you will also find how Marlowe uses alliteration in his
poem. The alliteration in the poem helps to describe all of the wonderful things in nature that he is
trying to persuade his love with. An example of this is when he talks about them sitting upon the rocks
and seeing the flocks. The ock repetition of consonant sound helps get the point across that the author
has a positive connection with nature and his persuasion of his love.
Raleigh wrote The Nymph s Reply to the Shepherd . His connection toward nature is very negative in
a way. Raleigh s viewpoint on nature is very rough and abrasive toward Marlowe. In his
poem/response his says When rivers rage and rocks grow cold. The words that he uses also show how
his viewpoint on nature is very

Theory based practice guides data collection and interpretation in a clear and organized manner;
therefore it is easier for the nurse to diagnose and address health problems (Nies McEwen, 2015, p.
38). These theories define what nursing is or what sets it apart from different professions. The
microscopic approach is when the individual is the focus of change. Dorothea Orem developed self
care deficit theory. This is done by measuring the client s deficit comparative to their self care needs.
The nurse s role is to supply care when the patients cannot provide care to themselves. The town of
Phillipsburg has a history of being very industrialize but has now closed many companies. Many
homes were built back then to accompany the workers. The potential for these older homes to contain

Commercial Stirs Controversy Essay
Of course, the Super Bowl can be considered the most watched television recording in American
history. As a result of withholding the attention of such a vast audience, many commercials are
showcased during the Super Bowl games, creating a commodity in which those commercials are
watched more than the Super Bowl games themselves. A mass amount of viewers can unquestionably
be beneficial to advertisers seeking to sell their products and services. However, benefits are not the
only things these ads invoke, detriment can occur as well, as seen throughout history among a variety
of television commercials. The Coca Cola commercial, displayed during Super Bowl XLVII, is one of
the most recent commercials that has been scrutinized. The Coca Cola ... Show more content on

The commercial also incorporated a presentation of the country s varying sprawling landscapes and
metropolitan areas, along with Americans of different ethnicities, races, and families partaking in real

profound imagery, we see several of the tactics mentioned in both articles tackled in Coke s
commercial. So why did Coca Cola receive such monumental uproar, if it made use of some of the
fifteen basic appeals that make ads effective? Ultimately, the ad received backlash because, many
[people] think that America the Beautiful is the country national anthem and English is this country s
national language, noted in Indian Country Today ( Coca Cola s America the Beautiful Super Bowl Ad

The Causes Of The Indian Removal Act Of 1830
The Indian Removal Act of 1830 moved the natives from federal territory in Georgia to non federal
territory in Oklahoma. Signed by Andrew Jackson, the act forced natives on what was known as the
Trail of Tears where many of them died. Though, the views of Americans were changed by the
Natives since the time Jamestown was settled. As the Natives importance to the Americans decreased,
they became more of a nuisance. The settlers in New England were very reliant on the Natives. They
were the ones who taught them to hunt and live in these new conditions. Natives were constantly put
aside after the country was able to fend for themselves as seen in the American Revolution. Later on,
the court case of Worcester v. Georgia gave the declaration that Natives were not technically a part of
our country and they seemed to be just taking up space. Through these things, it is very clear that
Natives were a problem that our country did not want to deal with.
Many people do not know of the main reasons for the movement of the Native American Tribes. The
causes were that President Jackson had very little positive actions and policies which inevitably
caused the Trail of Tears . The tribes that were required to move were considered the five civilized
tribes, and their names were the Creeks, Chickasaws, Seminoles, Cherokees, and Choctaws. The first
action that leads to the migration was the fact that Jackson did not go through with his promise that the
migration would be voluntary. Then he

Analysis Of The Article Gop Fox Circus Act By Reed...
In the article GOP Fox Circus Act , Reed Richardson argues that although both the GOP and Fox have
conservative political values, they are ultimately harmful to each other s agendas because of their
differing political goals. Both organizations are lacking popularity in recent years so they are
struggling to find new ways to gain an audience. The GOP wants to find a way to get their ideas to a
wide variety of people, whereas Fox is promoting more liberal views to increase the ratings of their
programs. On one hand, the GOP s reputation is hurt by the inaccuracy of Fox s reporting. On the
other hand, Fox is tied down by the conservative views of the GOP, thus restraining Fox from gaining
a larger audience. Journalist Reed Richardson wrote this article for The National, a liberal newspaper,
in 2013, so the events and issues that he is speaking of are still relevant to this day. Due to the
differences of political views between the author and the subject matter, there is plenty of room for
biased statements and opinions. Does Richardson provide enough evidence of the harmful effects of
the Fox and GOP relationship? Richardson clearly and meticulously establishes the problems that both
organizations face in the pursuit of their political goals with the use of statistics, reliable sources, and
thorough evaluation of events; however Richardson constantly provides the reader with a biased
argument when discussing the current state of Fox. Richardson successfully portrays the

Post War America Civil Rights Analysis
Post War America: Civil Rights Immediately after the Second World War, America witnessed a period
of increased prosperity and economic success by way of continued expansion of the industry. This was
a continuation of what was witnessed after the First World War, where the United Stated of America
emerged as a winner and a new superpower in world politics. Most certainly, all races were involved
in combat by way of being drafted into service. The GI Bill of Right of 1944 this legislation that
provided money for education and other benefits to military personnel returning from World War II
(Foner, 2014). However, the benefits that accrued favored the whites more as opposed to the blacks
who were in all ways involved in the combat. In this case, the other minority groups which were
feeling subjugated started to forcefully voice out their concerns and ... Show more content on

The urgency and energy were now directed to the emancipation of such groups from continuing
oppression and subjugation. During this period (1960 going forward) the civil rights movement now
engaged the governments directly requiring that their rights be protected. The violent protests and
boycotts which ensued gave the movement a sense of urgency. This necessitated more organized
forms of engagement for instance by way of civil rights organizations organized both by students and
the citizens everywhere. Notably, this period saw the emergence of notable figures such as Malcolm
X, Adam Clayton Powell and Martin Luther King Jnr. Their heroism, regardless of the different tactics
employed totally changed the civil rights movement. This urgency was aided by the efforts by the
Conservative wing of congress to block all social policies that were brought forward by John F
Kennedy. This has inspired hope and made the American people believe ion the ideal of equality and

Like A Raisin In The Sun Literary Analysis
For the most part, dreams have been something people have longed to achieve. Some either come to
realize their true aspirations later on in life or fall in love with a completely different dream and pursue
it. Others may experience major or minor setbacks and self conflict. As a result, dreams are deferred
and possibly dry up Like A Raisin in the Sun . In the play and adapted story, A Raisin in the Sun
contains characters who face a conflict that interfere with their dreams. The three most prominent
characters in this conflict are Mama, Walter, and Beneatha Younger. To each his own, and all for their

Walter yearns to support his family, at any cost. Whatever the cost. However, this dream is frequently
deferred and clashes with his little to none self esteem. Walter aspires to become a man just like his
father once was, an honorable man that took great care of his family. Given the time period and
circumstances of being an African American male, Walter s dreams are ever the more difficult to
achieve. In the story, Walter s true insecurities can be seen on page I drive a man around in a
limousine all day, and I say Yes, sir; no, sir very good, sir; shall I take the drive, sir? Mama, that ain t
no kind of job...that ain t nothing at all. Walter feels that his job is pathetic and that he is a shame to
his father s memory. He feels that a man s role is to take care of his family, be strong, and to support
them financially. Because he feels this way Walter tends to lose sight of his true dream and only focus
on money. This is plainly seen as Mama asks on page Son, how come you talk so much about money?
and Walter replies, Because it is life, Mama! and he proceeds to say It was always money, Mama. We
just didn t know about it. After this is said there is a realization that Walter s intentions aren t so much
to support his family, but he is driven by money, for money. Therefore, Walter s true dream is delayed
because he s no longer focused on taking care of his

The Two Eras of Globalization and Trade
Globalization and Trade: Since the mid of the Nineteenth century particularly after the end of the cold
war, Globalization has become the catchphrase that attracts everybody. However Globalization is a
complex concept to be defined, there are many different definitions of Globalization. According to
Thomas Friedman in his book The Lexus and the Olive Tree, he defined Globalization in terms of
PARADIGM SHIFTS as the follow: it is the inevitable integration of markets, nation states and
technologies to a degree never witnessed before in a way that is enabling individuals, corporations and
nation states to reach around the world farther, faster, deeper and cheaper than ever before and in a
way that is enabling the world to reach into individuals, corporations and nation states farther, faster,
and deeper, cheaper than ever before. Moreover, Globalization is represented in two eras. First, which
started in the mid of the nineteenth century and ended with the start of the World War I (WWI), and
the Second era began in the aftereffects of the World War II (WWII) and still continuous until today.
The Two eras of Globalization were described by increased cooperation and integration in trade,
smooth capital flows and free movement of labors. In another words, under the umbrella of
Globalization, any product that has been manufactured in somewhere in the globe could easily finds
its way into the market in another part of the world. In addition, since this process became the

Plato Of Radical Free Will
I believe that we have radical free will instead of genuine free will because I agree with Sartre that we
choose to react and feel a certain way towards everything. This concept can be easily demonstrated in
real life examples and through first hand experiences of majority of people. Main problem with
genuine free will is that it comes with the ambiguous concept of substance dualism. On top of that,
ideas argued by dualists contain problems that cannot be empirically proven. An important distinction
between genuine free will versus radical free will is that Plato of genuine free will believes that the
human body consists of two materials: the body and soul. He claims that the soul, or our mind, is
independent of the body and thus is not influenced

Another type of therapy that is most likely the most beneficial to all clients is known as Sexual
Identity Therapy, simply understanding the way a person is and take that knowledge and learn how to
function effectively. Within this therapy there are 4 main parts; assessment, advance informed consent,

Increased size of ventricles has been observed in MRI of a schizophrenic person. One possible
explanation to enlarged ventricles could have occurred during neurodevelopment causing the illness to
occur (book). However there is evidence that other diseases such as Alzheimer, have enlarged
ventricles and therefore this could prove to us that the disease itself did not cause the ventricle
enlargement but rather the genetic predisposition, resulting in the enlarged ventricles that could
possibly cause schizophrenia or another disease . There is evidence that as the disease continues the

It is involved with a person s movement, thoughts, wellbeing as well as their feelings of pleasure
(Veaugue, 2007).According to the dopamine hypothesis, when high levels of dopamine are found in
the mesolimbic and when low levels of dopamine found in the prefrontal cortex, symptoms of
schizophrenia will occur. When the cortical pathway through the nucleus accumbens is disturbed,
there will be an increase subcortical release of dopamine, which in turn causes the D2 receptor to be
activated. This process will result in positive symptoms of schizophrenia forming. The reduction of
the D1 receptor found in the prefrontal cortex together with the decrease of activity in the nucleus
caudatus will cause negative symptoms of schizophrenia (dopamine). The dopamine hypothesis is the
most accepted hypothesis, yet scientists are still unsure of why there is an excess of dopamine in the
body (article 1?).Glutamate is another neurotransmitter that could possibly be a causing factor in
schizophrenia. Glutamate helps with learning as well as the encoding of memory. A schizophrenic
person will have a lower amount of Glutamate in their body. Dopamine as well as Halucinatnic drugs
PCP block the glutamate receptor sites, lowering the amount of Glutamate in the body (Veague,
2007).Acetylcholine function is participates in the movement, automatic function learning and
memory in the brain. Therefore when acetylcholine is deficient it will cause the persons memory and
learning ability to be affected, this is a schizophrenic symptom (book).Serotonin s function is
controlling mood, appetite and sleep. If there the level of serotonin has decreased (as in schizophrenia)
then it will lead to the symptoms of depression as well as anxiety (book).GABA plays a vital role in
the central nervous system and it take part in moods. In schizophrenia the level is reduced therefore it
causes the symptoms of anxiety

Compare Reduced Instruction Set Computer (CISC And Cisc
Compare and contrast reduced instruction set computer (RISC) with the complex Instruction set
computer(CISC) [20]
Definitions:
(CISC) The term CISC (Complex Instruction Set Computer or Computing) refers to computers
designed with a full set of computer instructions that were intended to provide needed capabilities in
the most efficient way. Later, it was discovered that, by reducing the full set to only the most
frequently used instructions, the computer would get more work done in a shorter amount of time for
most applications. Since this was called reduced instruction set computing (RISC), there was now a
need to have something to call full set instruction computers thus, the term CISC.
These complex instruction set computer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since each instruction type that a computer must perform requires additional transistors and circuitry,
a larger list or set of computer instructions tends to make the microprocessor more complicated and
slower in operation.
Most RISC designs use uniform instruction length for almost all instructions, and employ strictly
separate load/store instructions.
Throughout the years various suggestions have been made regarding a precise definition of RISC, but
the general concept is that of a system that uses a really small, highly optimized set of instructions,
rather than a more versatile set of instructions often found in other types of architectures like C.I.S.C,
another common trait is that RISC systems use the load/store architecture, which is where memory is
normally accessed only through certain specific instructions, rather than accessed as part of other
instructions like

aldol reaction Essay
Aldol In this preparative lab, an aldol (trans p anisalacetophenone) was produced from the reaction
between p anisaldehyde and acetophenone with the presence sodium hydroxide. The reaction also
showed the importance of an enolate and the role it played in the mechanism. Sodium hydroxide acts
as a catalyst in this experiment and is chosen because of its basic conditions and pH. The
acetophenone carries an alpha hydrogen that has a pKa between 18 and 20. This alpha hydrogen is
acidic because of its location near the carbonyl on acetophenone. When the sodium hydroxide is
added, it deprotonates the hydrogen and creates an enolate ion. This deprotonation creates a
nucleophilic carbon that can attack an electrophilic carbon (like a parent ... Show more content on

The initial product is the beta hydroxyketone, which rapidly undergoes dehydration and creates the
final product, trans p anisalacetophenone. Technically, both the carbonyls cannot be mixed together
with sodium hydroxide to get one product. We will get a dominant product of trans p
anisalacetophenone. This reaction is an exception and we get away with it. P anisaldehyde and
acetophenone together only make one enolate. This helps our exception, but there are still two
carbonyls. With our weak base, we should be worried about acetophenone reacting with itself but we
are not. This is due to steric hindrance, like I stated earlier. Aldehydes are better electrophilic carbons
and therefore the ketone will react with the aldehyde faster than reacting with itself. It will quickly
form the product trans p anisalacetophenone because it is the favored product. We do not have to use
expensive LDA, we can use the weaker base and get away with it. The reaction took place in a conical
vial and .2mL of each of the reactant samples were added to it along with some 95% ethanol. Two
drops of NaOH were added shortly after and stirred at room temperature for fifteen minutes. The vial
was cooled in and ice bath and crystallized. Vacuum filtration was performed to filter the crude
product. The crude product was recrystallized using methanol and filtered again. We made one change
to the procedure and instead of using .7mL of ethanol we

Forrest Gump Quotes

English 101

Run Forrest, Run! Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you re going to get This
quote perfectly describes the theme/thesis of the film and was Forrest s motto. Life will take you so far
from where you are from, so there is no point in worrying about it (Kartha). Forrest Gump is carried
by faith, wit, finesse, ignorance, and love throughout the plot. Forrest Gump may have not understood
his place in those events, but he did have an impact on the society around him. At the basis of the
movie, it is a love story, between Forest and Jenny. While he spends nearly the whole movie mooning
over Jenny, she spends the whole movie trying to escape that love until the end. To her, love is sick
and twisted because all she s ever known is her father s abusive version of it. But eventually, Forrest s
unchanging love (and a tragic encounter with AIDS) transformed Jenny. There is plenty of examples
in the film, of how gump uses his wit or just goes with the flow and the results of it each time it
occurs. Throughout the novel Forrest Gump the main character, Forrest, is made out to look like a
slow, dim witted individual by his peers but perhaps he may not be as unintelligent as everyone thinks.

  • 2. Pros And Cons Of Robots Robots are becoming more and more advanced. As employers implement more automation, it is likely that many will lose their jobs to a robot. Robots have already been employed in many industries successfully especially in manufacturing. This automation improves the productivity in manufacturing and in effect, reduces the costs to make products. Manufacturing jobs now populated by people have many Musculoskeletal disease risk factors. With the application of robots, workers will not have to put themselves at risk for personal injury caused by MSD s. Research shows that repetitive work can cause musculoskeletal diseases in humans, but fortunately, robots are starting to acquire the tedious, manual labor jobs that enhance these diseases more; therefore, robots are seen as an ethical improvement to job safety and wellness. Musculoskeletal diseases are the leading cause of disability in the United States. MSD s are diseases that affect the muscles, bones, and any connecting tissue , and they cause chronic pains and mobility issues. In the workforce, there are MSD risk factors that contribute to the onset or advancement of MSD s. They include heavy lifting, rapidly and or repeatedly doing the same tasks, awkward positions, vibrations, bodily impacts, etc.[1]. There are many occupations that put workers at risk for MSD s especially labor intensive jobs. The pain and immobility that can be caused by MSD s lower the quality of life of occupants and cause reduced productivity. When an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. An Study On Territoriality And Intrusion On Public Spaces This study focuses in on the topic of territoriality and intrusion in public spaces; more specifically this study focuses in on the effect of families with children on territoriality and intrusion in public spaces (e.g. parking lots). Territoriality can be defined as the protection of a temporary created space, wherein the creator of the space claims ownership and occupancy on the area. We operationally defined territoriality: it is the time it takes for a participant (driver) to contact with the car (start timer) to the time (in seconds) it takes for the participant s front bumper to leave the parking space. This definition can also be stated as departure time. Intrusion can be defined as the presence of an intruder who has the desire to enter a temporary created space that is owned by another person. Intrusion is operationally defined so that when the participant comes into contact with their vehicle, the participant understands that there is another driver(s) who will take their claimed parking space right after they leave. Our hypothesis is that families with children will take more time (more territorial) to leave a parking space. The opposite will also be true, participants without children will take less time to leave a parking space while the trend of increased territoriality because of intrusion remains for both scenarios. The importance in the exploration into the effect of children of territoriality and intrusion could lead to a more fruitful exploration into ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Inclusive Education in South Africa The Zulu tribe of South Africa is the largest ethnic group in the country and its language is the most frequently used of all in South Africa. (Hamlett) The tribe was first discovered when Portugal settled the land, and since then the tribe and its relationships with the colonists is anything but peaceful, and to this day there still is tension. Maybe because of this, the education system throughout the 1900 s refused to allow for the teaching of African culture other than stereotypes and other inaccurate information that the colonists approved. The Zulu tribe s lack of education and the use of non native languages in school paired with its relationship toward further discrimination later in life is an indication that not teaching indigenous culture leads to real world discrimination. South Africa was segregated until 1994 and therefore is not the epitome of racial tolerance, but it is the treatment of education of their indigenous tribe the Zulu that shows that education controlled by one culture will lead to further segregation and worse conditions for the races out of the loop. Now, the last four presidents of South Africa were black and the current one is Zulu but even with influence in the highest office the tribe is unable to find work or make a life that is comparable to their white counterparts. The discrimination of education has led to longer consequences than the segregation and disenfranchisement because now there are generations of natives unable to compete ... After World War II Christian Dior had created what was known as the New Look, the look was iconic for emphasising a woman s hourglass shaped figure, later becoming a worldwide popular trend. • 8. Environmental Problems Facing The Earth Patton, Cade AP Environmental Science The biggest environmental problem that faces Earth today is pollution. There are a bunch types of pollution on planet Earth but by far air pollution is the deadliest. Air pollution can inhibit the breathing of living organisms. Many major companies including Exxonmobil and Bp who are leading the air pollution race with a Exxonmobil averaging 39 million tons of emissions. These emissions are released into the air by the process of making gasoline and chemicals. The second biggest environmental problem Earth faces each year is the decrease of natural resources. When it comes to natural resources the depletion of fossil fuels and deforestation are destroying the planet. Deforestation is the removal of trees in a wide area to the point of where it s almost not a forest anymore. On the other hand the depletion of fossil fuels is scary because fossil fuels are a nonrenewable resource. They are nonrenewable because they are being used up faster than they are being created. And it can take up to millions of years for more fossil fuels to be created. And finally for my third pick of the biggest environmental problems facing the Earth is the depletion of its Ozone layer. Some chemicals named Chlorine and bromine are in the atmosphere and are deteriorating the Ozone layer which consists of three hydrogen atoms. 2. • 10. Literary Devices Used in Albert Camus The Plague A book of horrors, fear and death. The Plague is a book by Albert Camus which weaves these emotions and events into one suspenseful tale. Each paragraph and section is written and structured in such a way as to give the reader insight into the feelings of the victims of the plague, and to show somewhat of a theme. The passage from section 4, part 4, line number 1 to line number 35 gives us a glimpse of the melancholy of the people of Oran to their dead loved ones to the extent that they do not attend All Souls Day, for they were thinking of them too much as it was. Pathetic Fallacy is also used to portray the message by Albert Camus. Also, the cool wind , big clouds...trailing shadows , glossy and oiled clothing give the impression of a cool, damp shadowy day, with clothing mimicking this, portraying the psychology of the people of Oran when they are in melancholy for their loved ones. However, from around the third paragraph onwards, a turning point is seen. As previously suggested, it was a suitable time of the year for mourning and All Souls Day, but ironically this did not occur. Albert Camus devices and literary intelligence make it very clear that the melancholy of the town was to the extent that All Souls Day was neglected. It is seen by a turning point, But these familiar aspects of All Souls Day could not make us forget that the cemeteries were left unvisited . This turning point suggests that All Souls Day did not occur as it was previously suggested through earlier devices, mainly due to the already prevalent grief towards the dead. Albert Camus metaphors clearly clarifies this, they (the dead) were no longer the forsaken to whom...you came to justify yourself and they (the dead) were intruders whom you would rather forget .Also, these metaphors give insight to the attitude of the townspeople towards their dead, that the extended period of thinking and grief over their dead has caused them not ... As 1988 approached, the United States was now heavily involved in the conflicts occurring in Afghanistan. The main reason behind this was because of the well known Taliban leader, Osama bin Laden, who was accused of bombing United States embassies in Africa. At the time I thought that hypnotism couldn t be real, and that he pays people to say as he does. He asks for volunteers, and of course my dad s brother volunteers and is chosen. He then starts following the commands, tapping, snoring, and dancing. Watching a six foot tall, 200 pound man dance in front of hundreds of people may have changed my mind, and unless he was on payroll, hypnosis had to be real. So what is hypnosis, what are common misconceptions and myths, and what are different types of hypnosis? Today I will be answering these three questions. But if they say they are a famous hypnotist, who has traveled the world changing lives, and who can hypnotize the audience in 1 minute, almost 90% of the people will already be in hypnosis, according to self hypnosis. The last type of hypnosis I will be talking about, which to me is the most intriguing form of hypnotherapy, is past life regression. This technique helps practitioners uncover memories of their past lives. By uncovering these memories, you are able to find out why you are the way you are. If you are having trouble in your current life that has no direct cause, the goal is to find out the root cause of the issue from your past life or incarnation. Whether you are strictly religious or not, past life regression helps you gain an awareness that you are more than just a physical body. The U.S. occupation and reconstruction met with varying degrees of political, social and economic success, but overall, the U.S. succeeded in developing Japan as a strong responsible power in the Pacific. At the time Japan had no vessels or other manner in which to conduct the mass movement of these populations. Under U.S. supervision and with hundreds of ships borrowed from the U.S., six million Japanese returned to Japan within three years; and nearly one million Chinese and Koreans returned to their respective countries in the same timeframe.5 In the end the combined U.S. and Japanese social reconstruction efforts successfully resolved the challenges facing the population. The U.S. economic effort was not as widely successful in comparison to the political and social efforts, but there were several successes that ultimately set the conditions for Japan s rise to a top world economy. The 1947 Land Reform Program, which essentially consisted of the government purchase and redesignation of land that was then resold to tenant farmers, is seen as the single most important factor for quelling rural discontent and promoting political stability in the early postwar period. 6 Efforts to re energize the natural resources successfully stabilized the coal mining and fishing industries. RESEARCH Overview This chapter will discuss the methodology used to enhance the study, and justifies it as a fitting process for the subject of the paper. This chapter opens explaining qualitative methodology and why it is the chosen method for the study. Then, after, it details the process of data collection. Qualitative Methodology The research question of this study concerns how the luxury hotel industry can adapt to Chinese conceptualizations and consumer behavior. As the study focuses on culture and values, and how they are represented in Chinese actions and expectations, qualitative methods were determined to be the best process to understand the issue. We find cultural studies are thoroughly grounded in qualitative research due to its roots in disciplines such as anthropology. [Atkinson 2005] Qualitative research is defined as a study that uses nonnumeric data in the form of words (Schwandt, 2001), and provides an interpretive view that in comparison to quantitative research provides different strategies of inquiry through techniques such as interviews, focus groups, and ethnography. Qualitative methods allow the researcher to study individuals, consider and discover processes, as well as learn about the general culture sharing behavior of the subjects or individuals studied (Creswell 2009) As the study focused on the impact culture has on consumer behavior, the method of qualitative research chosen were interview styled questions. Christopher Marlowe, Sir Walter Raleigh, and William Carlos Williams have said there opinions in nature s role in providing for humanity. Marlowe had a very gentle approach with nature, while Raleigh and Williams have more of a negative and abrasive approach toward nature s role in providing. The three poets have came and showed their opinions through three individual poems. Marlowe, who wrote The passionate Shepherd to his Love , has a very positive connection to nature. In his poem he says A cap of flowers, and a kirtle embroidered all with leaves of myrtle. This means how he wants the kirtle embroidered all with the finest leaves of myrtle for his love. The way that he describes nature shows his great interest at the time with nature. The way he uses gentle and tranquil words to describe nature shows his soft relationship. All of the gifts that tries to persuade his love with all have a relation to nature. For example, the gown that he offers will be made from the finest wool from a pretty lamb. Another example is how Marlowe talks about how he is going to make her a bed of roses, yet another reference to nature to persuade his love in coming to be with him. In addition, Marlowe s structure of the poem is also very important to the meaning of the poem. Marlowe s poem has six stanzas that each contain four lines. The poem meter is stressed unstressed, and the rhyme scheme of the poem is AABB. In his poem, you will also find how Marlowe uses alliteration in his poem. The alliteration in the poem helps to describe all of the wonderful things in nature that he is trying to persuade his love with. An example of this is when he talks about them sitting upon the rocks and seeing the flocks. The ock repetition of consonant sound helps get the point across that the author has a positive connection with nature and his persuasion of his love. Raleigh wrote The Nymph s Reply to the Shepherd . His connection toward nature is very negative in a way. Raleigh s viewpoint on nature is very rough and abrasive toward Marlowe. Signed by Andrew Jackson, the act forced natives on what was known as the Trail of Tears where many of them died. Though, the views of Americans were changed by the Natives since the time Jamestown was settled. As the Natives importance to the Americans decreased, they became more of a nuisance. The settlers in New England were very reliant on the Natives. They were the ones who taught them to hunt and live in these new conditions. Natives were constantly put aside after the country was able to fend for themselves as seen in the American Revolution. Later on, the court case of Worcester v. Georgia gave the declaration that Natives were not technically a part of our country and they seemed to be just taking up space. Through these things, it is very clear that Natives were a problem that our country did not want to deal with. Many people do not know of the main reasons for the movement of the Native American Tribes. The causes were that President Jackson had very little positive actions and policies which inevitably caused the Trail of Tears . The tribes that were required to move were considered the five civilized tribes, and their names were the Creeks, Chickasaws, Seminoles, Cherokees, and Choctaws. In the article GOP Fox Circus Act , Reed Richardson argues that although both the GOP and Fox have conservative political values, they are ultimately harmful to each other s agendas because of their differing political goals. Both organizations are lacking popularity in recent years so they are struggling to find new ways to gain an audience. The GOP wants to find a way to get their ideas to a wide variety of people, whereas Fox is promoting more liberal views to increase the ratings of their programs. On one hand, the GOP s reputation is hurt by the inaccuracy of Fox s reporting. On the other hand, Fox is tied down by the conservative views of the GOP, thus restraining Fox from gaining a larger audience. Journalist Reed Richardson wrote this article for The National, a liberal newspaper, in 2013, so the events and issues that he is speaking of are still relevant to this day. Due to the differences of political views between the author and the subject matter, there is plenty of room for biased statements and opinions. When the cortical pathway through the nucleus accumbens is disturbed, there will be an increase subcortical release of dopamine, which in turn causes the D2 receptor to be activated. This process will result in positive symptoms of schizophrenia forming. The reduction of the D1 receptor found in the prefrontal cortex together with the decrease of activity in the nucleus caudatus will cause negative symptoms of schizophrenia (dopamine). This alpha hydrogen is acidic because of its location near the carbonyl on acetophenone. When the sodium hydroxide is added, it deprotonates the hydrogen and creates an enolate ion. This deprotonation creates a nucleophilic carbon that can attack an electrophilic carbon (like a parent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The initial product is the beta hydroxyketone, which rapidly undergoes dehydration and creates the final product, trans p anisalacetophenone. Technically, both the carbonyls cannot be mixed together with sodium hydroxide to get one product. We will get a dominant product of trans p anisalacetophenone. This reaction is an exception and we get away with it. P anisaldehyde and acetophenone together only make one enolate. This helps our exception, but there are still two carbonyls. With our weak base, we should be worried about acetophenone reacting with itself but we are not. This is due to steric hindrance, like I stated earlier. Aldehydes are better electrophilic carbons and therefore the ketone will react with the aldehyde faster than reacting with itself. It will quickly form the product trans p anisalacetophenone because it is the favored product. We do not have to use expensive LDA, we can use the weaker base and get away with it. The reaction took place in a conical vial and .2mL of each of the reactant samples were added to it along with some 95% ethanol. Two drops of NaOH were added shortly after and stirred at room temperature for fifteen minutes. The vial was cooled in and ice bath and crystallized. Vacuum filtration was performed to filter the crude product. The crude product was recrystallized using methanol and filtered again. We made one change to the procedure and instead of using .7mL of ethanol we ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Forrest Gump Quotes Eliyah Bazile Kourtney Hake English 101 4/24/2018 Run Forrest, Run! Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you re going to get This quote perfectly describes the theme/thesis of the film and was Forrest s motto. Life will take you so far from where you are from, so there is no point in worrying about it (Kartha). Forrest Gump is carried by faith, wit, finesse, ignorance, and love throughout the plot. Forrest Gump may have not understood his place in those events, but he did have an impact on the society around him. At the basis of the movie, it is a love story, between Forest and Jenny. While he spends nearly the whole movie mooning over Jenny, she spends the whole movie trying to escape that love until the end. To her, love is sick and twisted because all she s ever known is her father s abusive version of it. But eventually, Forrest s unchanging love (and a tragic encounter with AIDS) transformed Jenny. There is plenty of examples in the film, of how gump uses his wit or just goes with the flow and the results of it each time it occurs. Throughout the novel Forrest Gump the main character, Forrest, is made out to look like a slow, dim witted individual by his peers but perhaps he may not be as unintelligent as everyone thinks. ... This sets the tone of his character for the movie because you realize that he is not a normal child. Since the beginning of organized culture in the United States, people with disabilities were considered meager, tragic, pitiful individuals unfit and unable to contribute to society, except to serve as ridiculed objects of entertainment in circuses and exhibitions. They were assumed to be abnormal and feeble minded, and numerous persons were forced to undergo ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
