The Environment Of An Organization
Introduction
Understanding the environment that encompasses an association that is vital to the executives
accountable for the associations. There are a few reasons behind why understanding the environment
is important. First, the environment provides resources that an organization needs in order to create
goods and services. In the seventeenth century, British writer John Donne broadly noticed no man is
an island. Similarly, it is exact to say that no association is independent. As the human body must
devour oxygen, nourishment, and water, an organization needs to take in resources, such as, work,
cash, and crude materials from outside its limits. An association can t make due without the backing of
its surroundings. Second, the environment is a place of opportunities and threats for an organization.
Managers must also realize that almost any environmental movement is possible to create
opportunities for some organizations and threats for others. Officials should likewise understand that
for all intents and purposes any ecological pattern or occasion is liable to make open doors for a few
associations and dangers for others. Third, the environment forms the numerous strategic decisions
that manager s make as they try to lead their organizations to success. Nature regularly puts vital
limitations on an association s objectives, for instance, a firm that sets an objective of expanding
yearly deals by 50 percent may battle to accomplish this objective amid a financial

Collective Bargaining In Nursing
Collective Bargaining From the historical background, after the World War II, Budd, Warino, and
Patton (2004) informed that collective bargaining (CB) occurred as a result of extreme nursing
shortages, causing the poor economic and working condition for nurses. Initially not promoting the
CB since nursing was considered a calling more than an occupation, Budd et al. (2004) narrated that
after realizing the need to preserve the nursing profession and the nurses welfare, the American Nurses
Association [ANA] established the State Nurses Association to represent nurses in the bargaining
duties. Thus, collective bargaining existed to empower nurses in gaining autonomy over their practice,
control over essential resources, and protest against policies affecting patients safety. What follows
will be discussion of personal experiences and opinions on CB, contract negotiations, roles of the
facility administrator in CB, and manager s responsibilities in CB. ... Show more content on

Eventually, the organization process ended due to inadequate number of signatures from nurses. In
agreement to the purpose of CB, I believe CB is an effective tool to recognize nurses value, despite
every possible measure, to the unyielding administration. Hence, from my brief employment in a
union hospital, I can list the benefits of CB: higher wages, guaranteed pay increase, job security, and
better benefits. On the other hand, disadvantages of labor unions are costly monthly dues, obligation
to participate in strikes, not always effective, and preserving bad employees. Supposed a negotiation is
needed in my current job, my demands would be in these priority orders: eliminating mandatory
overtime (on call and mandatory up staffing), reducing holiday requirements ( hallmark, pre and post
holidays), increased salary (10%), and certification hourly

American Traditions And Qualities Of The United States Essay
For many international students, acclimating to American society can be troublesome and occasionally
disappointing. American traditions and qualities may be altogether different from those of your nation
of origin, and you may discover them befuddling. America s populace reflects surprising ethnic
differences. Non white individuals dwarf whites in a lesser expansive urban area. Daily papers
regularly utilize such terms as Asian American, Italian
American, and Bedouin American to mirror the ingenuity of different ethnic legacies inside the
Unified States. There are individuals whose skin is named white, dark, cocoa, yellow and red.
There are individuals who have numerous years of formal instruction and individuals who have about
none. There are the exceptionally rich and also the extremely poor. There are
Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Communists, Communists, Libertarians, and disciples of other
political perspectives too. There are Legal advisors, agriculturists, handymen, instructors, social
laborers, movement officers and individuals in a great many different occupations. Some live in urban
zones and some in rustic ones. Given this differing qualities, would one be able to conveniently
discuss Americans ? Probably so, given that one is watchful.
Americans don t more often than not see themselves, when they are in the
Assembled States, as delegates of their nation. They consider themselves to be people who are not

Utopia Vs Dystopian Society
As time goes on, attempts at a utopian society have failed and that means that not only have utopias
been created but that dystopias have arrised. Each one is set and planned to be a utopia that only ends
up taking another course and turning into a dystopian society. Utopia simply means an ideal place or
state , where as a dystopia is the opposite ( utopia ). Dystopias is a society characterized by human
misery, as squalor, oppression, disease, and overcrowding ( dystopia ). Utopias usually end up
becoming dystopias because everyone has their own vision of what they want their perfect place to be.

They believe that their life is fine and there is nothing that they should worry about in Oceania. A little
farther into the book Orwell mentions, If you want to keep a secret, you must also hide it from
yourself (Orwell). This tells us that even if the citizens of Oceania even tried to think of a way to rebel
against Big Brother it would not work. By the time they finished their plan they would execute in
order to take back control of their society the Thought Police would have already caught them and
they would be in prison or a camp for thought crime. The people are under so much control that they
think it would be better off if they don t rebel. They care content and perfectly fine with the way they
live because they know if they do rebel then it won t turn out very well. We see that the government
controls them with slogans and doublespeak. The proles are content with life and that s how Big
Brother wants it to be. If they stay content and ignorant then the government already has full control
over them and they are certain that everything is amazing.
Oceania depicts traits of a dystopia by keeping constant surveillance on their citizens and destroying
free thought. Winston informs us, It was terribly dangerous to let your thoughts wander when you
were in any public place or within range of a telescreen. The smallest thing could give you away. A

Rachel Carson Silent Spring Summary
Rachel Carson s Silent Spring tries to convey the message that humans alter the environment by using
chemicals that enter water, food, soil, and many species, causing effects related to many concepts in
environmental science. Pesticides can get into water, one of our most precious sources, which causes
many effects. They can get into groundwater, which Carson states on page 40 that the majority of
them most likely come from agricultural uses on farmlands, which are brought to the water by rain
(Carson, 1962). Carson on pages 46 through 50 talks about the effects Clear Lake has received from
DDD (Carson, 1962). Clear Lake was surveyed to calculate how much of the insecticide could be

Who Is Bonnie And Clyde A Victim Of Crime
In the early nineteen hundreds, crime was a big problem. There were several criminals on the loose.
Such as Pretty boy Floyde, Baby face Nelson, Al Capone, Machine gun Kelly, and so on. But in the
South there was a couple that rampaged through Texas. They were Bonnie and Clyde and they were
the fear of the public in the South. They robbed, kidnapped and murdered. This is Bonnie and Clyde.
Clyde Barrow was born in Telico, Texas in the year 1910. Clyde s family moved to Dallas in the
1920s. They were very poor and lived in a slum where crime was rampant. Clyde got into trouble right
away. His first arrest was when he didn t return a rental car on time. His second arrest was for stealing
turkeys. In the late 1920s, Clyde had good jobs but he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They had an immediate liking to each other. Until Clyde was sent to jail for his petty crimes, Bonnie
and Clyde spent almost all their time together. When Clyde went to jail in Waco, Bonnie smuggled a
gun into the prison and busted Clyde out on March 8. When Bonnie and Clyde took off to Ohio, Clyde
got caught and extradited to Texas. While in jail, he received a fourteen year prison sentence for hard
labor. Clyde got transferred to Eastham prison. In 1932 of February, Clyde got paroled and his family
and friends said he wasn t the same guy when he came out. It was claimed that Clyde was beaten
regularly while he was in prison and it made him hate the Eastham prison. According to some people
it was said Clyde didn t care about the money, he wanted revenge on the Texas prison system for how
he was treated. One month later, Bonnie and Clyde made a gang consisting of Bonnie and Clyde, Ray
Hamilton, WD Jones, Henry Methvin, Buck Barrow, and his wife Blanche Barrow.
With their gang, Bonnie and Clyde began many robberies with the goal of getting enough money and
guns to launch a jailbreak at Eastham prison to get Clyde s revenge. Bonnie and Fults got caught in a
hardware store robbery in Texas and they got sent to jail. Bonnie got out of jail for saying she was
kidnapped and had to rob the hardware store. In two weeks Bonnie and Clyde were together and on
the run again. On August of 1932, Clyde and his gang had been drinking which was illegal back then.

some combination of the following symptoms: depressed mood (sadness), poor concentration,

10,000 teens committed suicide in 2000. Think about that. All of those teens ending their life on earth

family members wouldn t even care if they died.Thankfully you can help. Simple things like

On a lighter note I want to talk about ways that you can keep your mind healthy. You can devise a way

they are actually proven to fight alzheimer s. You can also read. I know, sounds boring too. I have a

own story but reading will inspire us to do so.
So in conclusion. Say something nice, feel good about yourself, and stimulate your mind, body, and

In a written exerpt from a letter about the cremation of his mother,

with the horrid details of disposing of his mother s physical body are eventually reconciled with an
understanding that her spirit lives on. He imagines how she would find humor in the bizarre event of

Watching A Disappearing Number in Theater Essay examples
Choose one production that you have seen and which you particularly enjoyed and discuss the aspects
which made it so successful.
A Disappearing Number
I went to see a Disappearing Number, in the Theater. The production was performed by Complicite
and was directed by Simon McBurney. I really enjoyed this performance. I thought that the mixture of
maths and romance as well as the structure of the performance by incorporating the past and the
present together, was extremely successful.
The most successful aspect of the performance for me were the scene changes. I found that the
rotation of the blackboard, center stage, where the actors were able to stoop beneath it in order to enter
and exit the stage, was an effective touch to this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another really effective aspect to the performance was the use of technology, including sound effects,
projections, pod casts and voice overs. The scene which stood out most for me, concerning technology
would be the scene where Al is trapped in the lecture theatre. Here, he begins to look through Ruth?s
belongings of books, papers and passports. While he is doing this, actions too small to be seen from
the audience, a live streaming is being projected up onto the whiteboard behind to show us, as the
audience, what he is looking at. Al starts to read a page from a book which has been marked down and
as he starts to read a voice over starts reading the same words, quietly at first and as that gradually
builds up in volume, Al?s voice decreases in volume till its just the voice over reading out the words
from the book. This is one of the first links to the past, a key theme in the performance, as the voice
over is the voice of G H Hardy, the great mathematician reading from his own book.
We were introduced to the performance by the character Ruth giving a maths lecture, simple at first
but then getting extremely difficult to follow, going off on a tangent, using mathematical terminology
I had never even heard of. This maths theme carried on throughout the whole performance, making it,
from my point of view, the strongest link from the present to the past, as Ruth was wanting to follow
in the footsteps of Ramanujan and Hardy.
One of the scenes which had the

Sexual tension leads to a highly charged, dramatic demise for Blanche and Eddie
The characters of Blanche and Eddie are closely linked by several factors, including the reasons
behind their cantankerous endings in the plays A Streetcar Named Desire and A View from the Bridge
. Williams and Miller characterize Blanche and Eddie through their sexuality, which is a very
important theme in both plays.
Both characters show traces of mental instability; Blanche perhaps more so than Eddie, as throughout
the play there are constant reminders to the audience that Blanche s already feeble mental state is
deteriorating. For example, when Blanche recalls the death of her young husband , Tennessee
Williams cleverly has the music of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ultimately as they are both strong characters, one of the two has to come out a victor of their rivalry.
Stanley is strong but Blanche successfully establishes a foothold in his house during the first third of
the play and even shames him into acting somewhat sheepishly by the end of scene one. However,
Blanche s ascendancy does not last long and eventually we see Stanley regain his primitive masculine
supremacy. This then progresses towards the end of the play, to complete lack of respect for Blanche
herself, as in scene ten a drunk Stanley rapes her while her sister is in hospital; an unpleasant victory
over a weakened Blanche is the very peak of tension between the two.
The main tension experienced in A View from the Bridge is due to the great contrast between how
Eddie sees Catherine, and how she sees him. In Eddie s world, he imagines protecting Catherine from
marriage or any male relationship and wants her for himself. While Eddie wavers and switches
between communal and state laws and cultures to discriminate against Rodolpho, his motivations do
not change, regardless of the fact it is often at the expense of others. Throughout the play, Miller
creates uncomfortable situations for the reader/viewer, caused by the emergence of Eddie s unusual
love for Catherine. This is shown in particular in act one, when Catherine

Long Term Memory Storage System
The skill to remember the people, events, and locations come across the path of everyday life is a
primary structure of cognition that shows behavior. The aggravation dealt with in problems (school,
friends in the halls or work, coworkers in the break room) provides as a concise reminder of our
reliance on memory. Long term memory storage system is characterized by long duration, large
capacity, and accessibility. Over the years, several different types of long term memory have been
distinguished, including explicit and implicit memory, declarative and nondeclarative memory (with
further subdivision of declarative memory in episodic and semantic memory. (Mastin. 1) Long term
memory can store an incredible amount of information over an extensive period. Long term memory
is everything we remember that occurred just minutes ago. Long term memories can be kept for a few
days or many years. Although we may forget things every day, it is possible that long term memory
essentially perishes as the years go by and can accumulate a limitless amount of information without
stopping. Many can argue if we in fact forget something at all, or it just becomes gradually harder to
recover things from our memory.
Long term memory is accountable for three areas, which are encoding, storing and retrieving.
Encoding is the capability to change information into an information structure. Storage is the ability to
collect large pieces of information. Recovering allows us to remember things

New Historicism Of Nathaniel Hawthorne s Hyperbolism In...
New Historicism analyzes literature using more than just the text; it uses information from the author s
time period as well as from the reader s time period to understand the text. Readers of literature are
hopelessly subjective interpreters of what [they] observe, according to this theory, meaning that one
has no choice when reading literature other than to interpret it within the context of one s own era
(Allen Brizee, et al). This school of literary theory has only recently been developed but it is still
widely used, though also widely criticized (J. Kelly, T. Kelly). Many of Nathaniel Hawthorne s works
were allegories, and he had a tendency to denounce the harsh Puritan beliefs present in his time; thus,
The Minister s Black Veil can easily be viewed from a New Historicist view, demonstrated in the way
that Hawthorne caustically attacks the Puritan belief system which he detests through hyperbolizing
situations and contrasting light and dark. Nathaniel Hawthorne s works were a product of his ancestors
whom he despised. Hawthorne grew up in Salem, Massachusetts, surrounded by the legacy of the
Salem Witch Trials that had happened a little over a century before his time. He despised Puritan
tradition, particularly because one of his ancestors was one of the harshest judges during the witch
scare. Hawthorne even added a w to his last name (from Hathorne) to distance his reputation from that
of his ancestor s ( Nathaniel Hawthorne ). Given this background, it is no

Volcano How to Survive Them.
When it comes to surviving, people will take whatever means are necessary to live just a little bit
longer. An example of this could be a point in the movie Titanic. In order to survive the boat sinking,
Rose rested on a piece of furniture that was drifting in the water. As a result, she was one of the few
people to actually be alive and rescued when the boats came back. When it comes to survival, at that
moment in time there is no rule book on what measure one can take to survive but a person should
know the basics. Volcanoes are a good example of this. Volcano s: How to Survive a Volcano Eruption
by Cliff Montgomery s article is effective because it acknowledges what is in a volcano, explain what

Similarities And Differences Of Rastafarianism And Judaism
Parallelisms and Differences:Rastafarianism and Judaism
The two religions of Rastafarianism and Judaism embody many of the same characteristics, as well as
their ancestry. Although the Rastafarians, at times, inaccurately explain the bible, their belief in the
Old Testament is still prevalent. Many of the customs are almost identical, but the rationale behind the
traditions and laws contrast greatly.
In 1933, when Leonard P. Howell was arrested for using seditious and blasphemous language, to boost

In the Jewish religion, Judaism is not only obtained through conversion but mainly through our

Radish Seed Lab Report
In generalization, there are a multitude of factors that could potentially influence the germination of a
radish seed. This lab thoroughly exhibits the effect of water amounts on the germination of a radish
seed. There is indeed an in depth science behind the projected results, and overall of the effects water
has on the germination of radish seeds, and the growth of plants in particular. Radishes themselves are
moisture loving plants; therefore, it is significant that they receive an adequate amount of water,
allowing the soil to be moist, but not overly saturated (Biology Coach, 2015). In general, water is
significant for the health of a plant in the way it transports important nutrients throughout the plant.
From this point, nutrients are drawn from the soil and used by the plant. Seed germination itself is
defined as the process where the seed sprout for growing, and future development into a plant. In
order to germinate, the seed must have its essential needs met until it is capable of doing so: water,
temperature, and sun. Therefore, during its early stages of growth, the seed will rely upon the food
supplies stores within it, until it is large enough for its own leaves to begin making food through
photosynthesis (Biology of Plants, 2016). Initially, the process of germination begins with the
absorption of water y there seed, therefore, this absorption of water then activates an enzyme that

The Super Hero In Fearless By Eric Blehm

The main hero in Fearless was Adam Brown. Adam was born on February 5, 1974, in Hot Springs,
Arkansas. When he was a child, he enjoyed playing football and spending time with his friends and
family. As he grew older, Adam became friends with the wrong crowd, and he began to make poor life
choices. Fearless is the story of how Adam overcame his demons in life and became an amazing father
and a well known hero.
Adam struggled with a drug addiction early in life. Drugs totally destroyed him, and his relationship
with his family. He was no longer the son that Larry and Janice Brown raised. After Adam met Kelley,
he started to make an effort to turn his life around. Adam became a totally different person. He became
someone that the world could admire and look up to.
Many soldiers die every single day, and their story never gets told. The question is what makes Adam
s story so different and worth sharing. It could have something to do with Adam s unique personality.
After he turned his life around, Adam became a

The Weight Reduction Of The Drive Shaft
Abstract Almost all automobiles (at least those which correspond to design with rear wheel drive and
front engine installation) have transmission shafts. The weight reduction of the drive shaft can have a
certain role in the general weight reduction of the vehicle and is a highly desirable goal, if it can be
achieved without increase in cost and decrease in quality and reliability. It is possible to achieve
design of composite drive shaft with less weight to increase the first natural frequency of the shaft and
to decrease the bending stresses using various stacking sequences. By doing the same, maximize the
torque transmission and torsional buckling capabilities are also maximized.
Key Words: Propeller shaft, Drive shaft, optimization, Composite material, Composite drive shaft
design etc. INTRODUCTION
The advanced composite materials such as Graphite, Carbon, Kevlar and Glass with suitable resins are
widely used because of their high specific strength (strength / density) and high specific modulus
(modulus / density). Advanced composite materials seem ideally suited for long, power driver shaft
(propeller shaft) applications. Their elastic properties can be tailored to increase the torque they can
carry as well as the rotational speed at which they operate. The drive shafts are used in automotive,
aircraft and aerospace applications. The automotive industry is exploiting composite material
technology for structural components construction in order to obtain the reduction

Personality Traits Of Personality Tests
My whole life I have been intrigued by personality tests. I love seeing the results I get, even if the test
is about what type of pizza I am. However, the more tests I took, the easier it was to find the patterns
within the tests. I realized that most of the answers that are supposedly tailored to me are just general
personality traits that could apply to the majority of the population. The Strengths Quest quiz was not
one of these tests. Although I found a few similar questions, the quiz is so detailed that it is easy to tell
how unique each person s results will be. This quiz showed me parts of my personality that I had
never realized existed. When I first saw my results, I was quite shocked. My top five traits were
Maximizer, Individualization, Empathy, Analytical, and Belief. Maximizer and Empathy did not seem
like traits I had, but after reading the descriptions I see that they are fitting. Maximizer is the strength
of pursuing excellence, which is very true for me. I like to do things I am good at, and avoid doing the
activities where I do not excel. I cling to others that enjoy what I do, whether that be school work,
painting, baking, or simply listening. However, I tend to dwell on the fact that I cannot do everything
well. I see others that can do certain things I cannot, and it makes me feel inadequate. But this quiz has
shown me my fault, and now I can take those doubtful thoughts and make them about how each
person has their own unique strengths. Empathy,

Anthropocentrism And Animal Rights Essay
Outside of secular views about animal rights, two Christian oriented views exist on the subject. The
first is anthropocentrism. The simple definition of the term is man centered (Cairns 29). Adherents of
this view see creation as valuable only if it serves a utilitarian purpose for humanity (Linzey 16).
Humans are seen to be the only creatures who receive direct divine and moral concern, thus making
them superior to any animal (Green 69). Furthermore, the view denies that animals have any rights at
all (Geisler 356 57). Several arguments are made to support this point, such as the fact that animals are
not persons and that humanity is a steward of God s creation, though this does not mean animals have
rights (Linzey 75 77; 86 89). The second Christian oriented view of animal rights is non
anthropocentrism. As the term suggests, the view is the complete opposite of anthropocentrism. Rather
than see humanity as the most significant creature in the universe, non anthropocentrism sees it as a
neighbor to animals because all who share with us the divine spark of conscious life, given by God at
creation, are our neighbors (Phelps 42). Many claims are made to support this premise. ... Show more

No matter what is under consideration, all creation has independent worth and irreducible value
(Geisler 345). Theologically, since God provides for all creation, this means that it all possesses
intrinsic value (Linzey 8 9). Second, the view asserts that animals have souls (Phelps 57). Allegedly,
Genesis chapters one and two indicate that humans and animals have the same life force and divine
breath (58 61; Gen. 1:24; 2:7, 19). Furthermore, it is suspected that Isaiah recorded the presence of
animals in heaven (63; Is. 11:6 9). Therefore, non anthropocentrism claims, animals have souls and

Lactose Intolerance Research Paper
Lactose Intolerance is a common deficiency. Over 40 million americans suffer from Lactose
intolerance. It is the inability to digest sugars in milk and other dairy products. Lactase is an enzyme
in the small intestine, low levels can effect the ability to digest daily products. For most people,
symptoms can be harmless and easily managed. Symptoms can include nausea, abdominal
cramps, bloating, diarrhea, and sometimes vomiting. These symptoms usually occur about 30 minute
stop 2 hours after ingesting a milk product. When a milk product is ingested it usually turns the lactase
in to two simple sugars and then are sent through the blood stream to the intestine. However, when
you are lactose in tolerant your body carries out a different process.

Rejection of Existentialism Essays
In his defense of existentialism, Sartre first defines the unifying factor of existentialism, (for both
atheist and deist alike), as the belief that existence precedes essence. To help illustrate his point he
presents the example of a paper knife, an object that possess a set of qualities that enable it to carry out
its purpose. He states that it would not have been created without a particular purpose, therefore its
essence precedes its existence. (Sartre) Sartre rejects this idea when it comes to mankind and declares
that humans in themselves have no nature and define themselves after coming into existence. This
stems from his atheistic worldview, in which the rejection of a higher power leads him to accept the
fact that humans are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This theory opposes Sartre by stating that humans were not the first to exist, nonetheless the first
higher functioning organism. If the human essence follows its existence and then gives meaning to
life, this is to say that every life form that existed before humanity was of no meaning or had no
purpose. If everything in the world is defined by the meaning humanity ascribes to it, then the world
pre humanity, by default would be meaningless or nonexistent.
From a creationist stand point, existentialism is challenged in a similar aspect. It begs us to ask the
question where did humanity come from? . It is foolish to deny the fact that biologically, humans are
incredibly complex and had to have originated from somewhere, whether that be a higher power or a
series of mutations. Sartre s claim that humans were the first to exist leads us to accept that humans
are in a sense god or the first to exist without being bound by limits of time, space or reason. This in
itself is a contradiction seeing as how humans are mortal and definitely held within certain boundaries.
While existentialism is often closely associated with the idea of free will, I believe that humans can
have free will without believing that existence precedes essence. This brings me back to Sartre s paper
knife argument. While holistically, it is a simple object, it can be divided into thousands of
subcategories, from its physical properties to its molecular

Comparing Women In Mythology And The Bible
The classic Greek myths found in Mythology and ancient stories told in the Bible, often show striking
resemblance to each other in narrative, symbolism, and thematic content. In both texts respective
Creation Stories , women are portrayed similarly, cast in a rather unflattering light. The representation
of women in both Mythology and the Bible and their portrayal has lasting impact on the way woman
are perceived in the present day.
In the Biblical account of the creation of mankind, the first woman, Eve, is held responsible for the
downfall of mankind. When God questions Adam as to who is to blame for disobeying his command
to not eat from the tree of knowledge, Adam replies The woman whom you gave to be with me, she

Pandora, like Eve, is seen as being the unleasher of evil. In Mythology, in one account, it is said that
from Pandora, the first woman, comes the race of women (Hamilton 70). Women are then said to be,
evil to men, with a nature to do evil (Hamilton 70). Pandora and her descendants {womankind} are,
blatantly said to be inherently evil. Many other female characters in Mythology are also characterized
as being, if not evil, possessing other wicked traits such as being conniving, manipulative, vain, and
even oftentimes being said to be sorcerers. This representation of female characters an effect of the
original statements made about Pandora and womankind at the beginning of Mythology. However, in
an alternative version of Pandora s narrative, Pandora is illustrated in a different way. Pandora s
manner of unleashing evil into the world was through, not her wicked nature, but only her curiosity
(Hamilton 72). In this account Pandora herself isn t evil, but she is still to blame for the evil unleashed
upon the world. Pandora is blamed for her lack of understanding of the consequences of her actions.
She stands as a symbol for the thoughtlessness, and foolishness of woman and their inferiority to men,
who unlike woman, are more thoughtful and

The Theory of Absolutism Essay
The Theory of Absolutism Absolute monarchy or absolutism meant that the sovereign power or
ultimate authority in the state rested in the hands of a king who claimed to rule by divine right. But
what did sovereignty mean? Late sixteenth century political theorists believed that sovereign power
consisted of the authority to make laws, tax, administer justice, control the state s administrative
system, and determine foreign policy. These powers made a ruler sovereign. One of the chief theorists
of divine right monarchy in the seventeenth century was the French theologian and court preacher
Bishop Jacques Bossuet (1627 1704), who expressed his ideas in a book entitled Politics Drawn from

... The day after Cardinal Mazarin s death, Louis XIV, at the age of twenty three, expressed his
deterrnination to be a real king and the sole ruler of France: Up to this moment I have been pleased to
entrust the gov emment of my affairs to the late Cardinal. It is now time that I govem them myself.
You [secretaries and ministers of state] will assist me with your counsels when I ask for them. I
request and order you to seal no orders except by my com mand, . . . I order you not to sign anything,
not even a passport . . . without my command; to render account to me personally each day and to
favor no one. His mother, who was well aware of Louis s proclivity for fun and games and getting into
the beds of the maids in the royal palace, laughed aloud at these words. But Louis was quite serious.
Louis proved willing to pay the price of being a strong ruler . He established a consci entious routine
from which he seldom deviated, but he did not look upon his duties as drudgery since he judged his
royal profession to be grand, noble, and delightful. Eager for glory, Louis created a grand and majestic
spec tacle at the court of Versailles (see Daily Life at the Court of Versailles later in the chapter).
Consequently, Louis and his court came to set the standard for monar chies and aristocracies all over
Europe. Less than fifty years after his death, the great French writer Voltaire used the title Age of
Louis XIV to describe his history of Europe

IFSM 311: Enterprise Architecture and Systems
EA Framework Research Paper
Introduction
An Enterprise Architecture Framework (EAF) provides principles and practices for creating and using
the architecture description of a system. Frameworks are used to help organizations answer specific
question. Enterprise Architecture framework importance is de emphasized deliberately sometimes.
Without a framework though, it is impossible to have foreseeable and repeatable outcomes. There are
many EA frameworks out there. However, the four leading ones are The Zachman Framework for
Enterprise Architecture, The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOFAF), Federal Enterprise
Architecture, and Gartner Enterprise ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
5. When(Time) describes when the function should be performed.
6. Why(Motivation) describes the end goals, constraints, rules and regulations.
Example of Zachman Framework:
Pros of Zachman Framework
The Zachman framework is the most popular framework in the area of EA. It is a basis for some other
frameworks such as, FEAF(Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework). You can hardly find written
material on any EA framework without a reference to the Zachman framework. The framework is
generic in that it can be used to classify the descriptive representations of any physical object as well
as conceptual objects such as enterprises. It is also recursive in that it can be used to analyze the
architectural composition of itself. Although the framework will carry the relation from one column to
the other, it is still a fundamentally structural representation of the enterprise and not a flow
representation. Another of the strengths of the Zachman Framework is that it explicitly shows a
comprehensive set of views that can be addressed by enterprise architecture.
Cons of Zachman Framework
Zachman Framework can lead to a documentation heavy approach. .Each of the 36 cells in the
Framework handles a different question that has to be documented. It can also lead to a process heavy
approach to development . The Zachman Framework isn t well accepted within the development
community and few developers even seem to have

Charismatic Leadership And Transformational Leadership
Charisma theory is described as a gift , or a unique superiority of an individual character. This is set by
an advantage of which the individual is set apart from the common man and treated as a gem with
supremacies (Charismatic vs. Transformational, 2011). Whereas the transformational theory is defined
as leaders who enthuse followers to use their own egocentricities to benefit the organization
(Charismatic vs. Transformational, 2011). These leaders also possess a gift of having a great impact on
their followers (Charismatic vs. Transformational, 2011). Theories are apprehended around the world
and almost every aspect of life possesses a theory behind them, whether there is action or unfolding
someone s personality. There are two leadership theories that will be conveyed, Charismatic
Leadership and Transformational Leadership. Behind each theory is a founder that explains these
concepts, James MacGregor Burns the founder of Transformational leadership (Conger, n.d.) and Karl
Emil Maximilian Max Weber the founder of Charismatic leadership ( Transformational, n.d.). Over
the course of time, movies have been made, demonstrating these theories, for example an old classic
The Lion King ( Leadership Movies, 2008). This movie coveys both MacGregor Burns and Karl Emil
Maximilian Max Weber s theories.
On August 3, 1918 MacGregor Burns was born in Melrose, Massachusetts ( James MacGregor, 2014).
Mr. Burns was raised in Burlington and underwent his undergraduate degree at

  • 2. The Environment Of An Organization Introduction Understanding the environment that encompasses an association that is vital to the executives accountable for the associations. There are a few reasons behind why understanding the environment is important. First, the environment provides resources that an organization needs in order to create goods and services. In the seventeenth century, British writer John Donne broadly noticed no man is an island. Similarly, it is exact to say that no association is independent. As the human body must devour oxygen, nourishment, and water, an organization needs to take in resources, such as, work, cash, and crude materials from outside its limits. An association can t make due without the backing of its surroundings. Second, the environment is a place of opportunities and threats for an organization. Managers must also realize that almost any environmental movement is possible to create opportunities for some organizations and threats for others. Officials should likewise understand that for all intents and purposes any ecological pattern or occasion is liable to make open doors for a few associations and dangers for others. Third, the environment forms the numerous strategic decisions that manager s make as they try to lead their organizations to success. Nature regularly puts vital limitations on an association s objectives, for instance, a firm that sets an objective of expanding yearly deals by 50 percent may battle to accomplish this objective amid a financial ... • 4. Collective Bargaining In Nursing Collective Bargaining From the historical background, after the World War II, Budd, Warino, and Patton (2004) informed that collective bargaining (CB) occurred as a result of extreme nursing shortages, causing the poor economic and working condition for nurses. Initially not promoting the CB since nursing was considered a calling more than an occupation, Budd et al. (2004) narrated that after realizing the need to preserve the nursing profession and the nurses welfare, the American Nurses Association [ANA] established the State Nurses Association to represent nurses in the bargaining duties. Thus, collective bargaining existed to empower nurses in gaining autonomy over their practice, control over essential resources, and protest against policies affecting patients safety. What follows will be discussion of personal experiences and opinions on CB, contract negotiations, roles of the facility administrator in CB, and manager s responsibilities in CB. ... In agreement to the purpose of CB, I believe CB is an effective tool to recognize nurses value, despite every possible measure, to the unyielding administration. Hence, from my brief employment in a union hospital, I can list the benefits of CB: higher wages, guaranteed pay increase, job security, and better benefits. On the other hand, disadvantages of labor unions are costly monthly dues, obligation to participate in strikes, not always effective, and preserving bad employees. Supposed a negotiation is needed in my current job, my demands would be in these priority orders: eliminating mandatory overtime (on call and mandatory up staffing), reducing holiday requirements ( hallmark, pre and post holidays), increased salary (10%), and certification hourly ... • 5. American Traditions And Qualities Of The United States Essay For many international students, acclimating to American society can be troublesome and occasionally disappointing. American traditions and qualities may be altogether different from those of your nation of origin, and you may discover them befuddling. America s populace reflects surprising ethnic differences. Non white individuals dwarf whites in a lesser expansive urban area. Daily papers regularly utilize such terms as Asian American, Italian American, and Bedouin American to mirror the ingenuity of different ethnic legacies inside the Unified States. There are individuals whose skin is named white, dark, cocoa, yellow and red. There are individuals who have numerous years of formal instruction and individuals who have about none. There are the exceptionally rich and also the extremely poor. There are Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Communists, Communists, Libertarians, and disciples of other political perspectives too. There are Legal advisors, agriculturists, handymen, instructors, social laborers, movement officers and individuals in a great many different occupations. Some live in urban zones and some in rustic ones. Given this differing qualities, would one be able to conveniently discuss Americans ? Probably so, given that one is watchful. Americans don t more often than not see themselves, when they are in the Assembled States, as delegates of their nation. They consider themselves to be people who are not quite the same as every ... They believe that their life is fine and there is nothing that they should worry about in Oceania. A little farther into the book Orwell mentions, If you want to keep a secret, you must also hide it from yourself (Orwell). This tells us that even if the citizens of Oceania even tried to think of a way to rebel against Big Brother it would not work. By the time they finished their plan they would execute in order to take back control of their society the Thought Police would have already caught them and they would be in prison or a camp for thought crime. The people are under so much control that they think it would be better off if they don t rebel. The scene which stood out most for me, concerning technology would be the scene where Al is trapped in the lecture theatre. Here, he begins to look through Ruth?s belongings of books, papers and passports. While he is doing this, actions too small to be seen from the audience, a live streaming is being projected up onto the whiteboard behind to show us, as the audience, what he is looking at. Al starts to read a page from a book which has been marked down and as he starts to read a voice over starts reading the same words, quietly at first and as that gradually builds up in volume, Al?s voice decreases in volume till its just the voice over reading out the words from the book. This is one of the first links to the past, a key theme in the performance, as the voice over is the voice of G H Hardy, the great mathematician reading from his own book. We were introduced to the performance by the character Ruth giving a maths lecture, simple at first but then getting extremely difficult to follow, going off on a tangent, using mathematical terminology I had never even heard of. This maths theme carried on throughout the whole performance, making it, from my point of view, the strongest link from the present to the past, as Ruth was wanting to follow in the footsteps of Ramanujan and Hardy. Sexual tension leads to a highly charged, dramatic demise for Blanche and Eddie The characters of Blanche and Eddie are closely linked by several factors, including the reasons behind their cantankerous endings in the plays A Streetcar Named Desire and A View from the Bridge . Williams and Miller characterize Blanche and Eddie through their sexuality, which is a very important theme in both plays. Both characters show traces of mental instability; Blanche perhaps more so than Eddie, as throughout the play there are constant reminders to the audience that Blanche s already feeble mental state is deteriorating. Ultimately as they are both strong characters, one of the two has to come out a victor of their rivalry. Stanley is strong but Blanche successfully establishes a foothold in his house during the first third of the play and even shames him into acting somewhat sheepishly by the end of scene one. However, Blanche s ascendancy does not last long and eventually we see Stanley regain his primitive masculine supremacy. This then progresses towards the end of the play, to complete lack of respect for Blanche herself, as in scene ten a drunk Stanley rapes her while her sister is in hospital; an unpleasant victory over a weakened Blanche is the very peak of tension between the two. The main tension experienced in A View from the Bridge is due to the great contrast between how Eddie sees Catherine, and how she sees him. In Eddie s world, he imagines protecting Catherine from marriage or any male relationship and wants her for himself. While Eddie wavers and switches between communal and state laws and cultures to discriminate against Rodolpho, his motivations do not change, regardless of the fact it is often at the expense of others. The aggravation dealt with in problems (school, friends in the halls or work, coworkers in the break room) provides as a concise reminder of our reliance on memory. Long term memory storage system is characterized by long duration, large capacity, and accessibility. Over the years, several different types of long term memory have been distinguished, including explicit and implicit memory, declarative and nondeclarative memory (with further subdivision of declarative memory in episodic and semantic memory. (Mastin. 1) Long term memory can store an incredible amount of information over an extensive period. Long term memory is everything we remember that occurred just minutes ago. Long term memories can be kept for a few days or many years. Although we may forget things every day, it is possible that long term memory essentially perishes as the years go by and can accumulate a limitless amount of information without stopping. Many can argue if we in fact forget something at all, or it just becomes gradually harder to recover things from our memory. Long term memory is accountable for three areas, which are encoding, storing and retrieving. Encoding is the capability to change information into an information structure. Storage is the ability to collect large pieces of information. Recovering allows us to remember things ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 18. New Historicism Of Nathaniel Hawthorne s Hyperbolism In... New Historicism analyzes literature using more than just the text; it uses information from the author s time period as well as from the reader s time period to understand the text. Readers of literature are hopelessly subjective interpreters of what [they] observe, according to this theory, meaning that one has no choice when reading literature other than to interpret it within the context of one s own era (Allen Brizee, et al). This school of literary theory has only recently been developed but it is still widely used, though also widely criticized (J. Kelly, T. Kelly). Many of Nathaniel Hawthorne s works were allegories, and he had a tendency to denounce the harsh Puritan beliefs present in his time; thus, The Minister s Black Veil can easily be viewed from a New Historicist view, demonstrated in the way that Hawthorne caustically attacks the Puritan belief system which he detests through hyperbolizing situations and contrasting light and dark. Nathaniel Hawthorne s works were a product of his ancestors whom he despised. Hawthorne grew up in Salem, Massachusetts, surrounded by the legacy of the Salem Witch Trials that had happened a little over a century before his time. He despised Puritan tradition, particularly because one of his ancestors was one of the harshest judges during the witch scare. Hawthorne even added a w to his last name (from Hathorne) to distance his reputation from that of his ancestor s ( Nathaniel Hawthorne ). Given this background, it is no ... This lab thoroughly exhibits the effect of water amounts on the germination of a radish seed. There is indeed an in depth science behind the projected results, and overall of the effects water has on the germination of radish seeds, and the growth of plants in particular. Radishes themselves are moisture loving plants; therefore, it is significant that they receive an adequate amount of water, allowing the soil to be moist, but not overly saturated (Biology Coach, 2015). In general, water is significant for the health of a plant in the way it transports important nutrients throughout the plant. From this point, nutrients are drawn from the soil and used by the plant. Seed germination itself is defined as the process where the seed sprout for growing, and future development into a plant. In order to germinate, the seed must have its essential needs met until it is capable of doing so: water, temperature, and sun. Therefore, during its early stages of growth, the seed will rely upon the food supplies stores within it, until it is large enough for its own leaves to begin making food through photosynthesis (Biology of Plants, 2016). Adam Brown is undoubtedly the main hero in Blehm s novel, but other members of the Brown family also displayed many notable heroic qualities. The main hero in Fearless was Adam Brown. Adam was born on February 5, 1974, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. When he was a child, he enjoyed playing football and spending time with his friends and family. As he grew older, Adam became friends with the wrong crowd, and he began to make poor life choices. • 25. Anthropocentrism And Animal Rights Essay Outside of secular views about animal rights, two Christian oriented views exist on the subject. The first is anthropocentrism. The simple definition of the term is man centered (Cairns 29). Adherents of this view see creation as valuable only if it serves a utilitarian purpose for humanity (Linzey 16). Humans are seen to be the only creatures who receive direct divine and moral concern, thus making them superior to any animal (Green 69). Furthermore, the view denies that animals have any rights at all (Geisler 356 57). Several arguments are made to support this point, such as the fact that animals are not persons and that humanity is a steward of God s creation, though this does not mean animals have rights (Linzey 75 77; 86 89). The second Christian oriented view of animal rights is non anthropocentrism. As the term suggests, the view is the complete opposite of anthropocentrism. Rather than see humanity as the most significant creature in the universe, non anthropocentrism sees it as a neighbor to animals because all who share with us the divine spark of conscious life, given by God at creation, are our neighbors (Phelps 42). Allegedly, Genesis chapters one and two indicate that humans and animals have the same life force and divine breath (58 61; Gen. 1:24; 2:7, 19). Furthermore, it is suspected that Isaiah recorded the presence of animals in heaven (63; Is. 11:6 9). Therefore, non anthropocentrism claims, animals have souls and will be present in ... • 27. Rejection of Existentialism Essays In his defense of existentialism, Sartre first defines the unifying factor of existentialism, (for both atheist and deist alike), as the belief that existence precedes essence. To help illustrate his point he presents the example of a paper knife, an object that possess a set of qualities that enable it to carry out its purpose. He states that it would not have been created without a particular purpose, therefore its essence precedes its existence. (Sartre) Sartre rejects this idea when it comes to mankind and declares that humans in themselves have no nature and define themselves after coming into existence. This theory opposes Sartre by stating that humans were not the first to exist, nonetheless the first higher functioning organism. If the human essence follows its existence and then gives meaning to life, this is to say that every life form that existed before humanity was of no meaning or had no purpose. If everything in the world is defined by the meaning humanity ascribes to it, then the world pre humanity, by default would be meaningless or nonexistent. From a creationist stand point, existentialism is challenged in a similar aspect. It begs us to ask the question where did humanity come from? . It is foolish to deny the fact that biologically, humans are incredibly complex and had to have originated from somewhere, whether that be a higher power or a series of mutations. Sartre s claim that humans were the first to exist leads us to accept that humans are in a sense god or the first to exist without being bound by limits of time, space or reason. This in itself is a contradiction seeing as how humans are mortal and definitely held within certain boundaries. While existentialism is often closely associated with the idea of free will, I believe that humans can have free will without believing that existence precedes essence. This brings me back to Sartre s paper knife argument. While holistically, it is a simple object, it can be divided into thousands of subcategories, from its physical properties to its molecular ...
