state, or personality of the person in the absence of any
organic cause or infection
This type of pain can have many different psychological factors
that can trigger, exacerbate, or maintain the pain:

A 3 years old child complains of stomach ache very frequently.
The pathological reports shows no organic cause or infection
Is the pain unreal ???
No it is the psychogenic pain that is arising because of the fear
and anxiety to move out of the comfort zone (home) and gop
to school (a new environment)

15. Case Study 2
A 18 years old boy from a well to do family has problem of bad breath
he has consulted the best of dentists and physicians for the same but
the problem is still not resolved.
Next he is referred to a psychologist.
During case history taking it is ruled out that the problem has no
organic cause.
It is the suppressed grudge that he is holding back since last 10 years
that has lead to this problem
After a sessions of successive therapies the problem was resolved

16. Upper Back Pain…?

A doctor complaint of upper back pain frequently. Even after taking up
nutritional supplements and multiple physiotherapies the problem was
not resolved.
The cause was not nutritional deficiency or muscle related issue.
After the psychological intervention it was ruled out that the pain was
merely because of the lack of self-care that lead to frequent complaint
of upper back pain.
