Regulating the timing of mating in Rahmani ewes was found to impact sex ratio of offspring. 186 ewes were divided into three groups - one mated at estrus onset (Group 1), one mated 15 hours after onset (Group 2), and one mated 30 hours after onset (Group 3). Group 2 produced more female lambs (84.48%) while Group 3 produced more male lambs (85.92%). Overall, regulating mating time to be in the middle or late stages of estrus allows for some control over offspring sex, providing economic benefits to livestock producers.
