2. Editing techniques I have used:
I used a black and white effect over this shot to show my
characters current emotions. I also decided as I’ve used a shot
similar to this before I wanted it to look different so adding an
effect over was convenient and helped. I also used this editing
technique because it’s a convention of many videos and can be
seen in indie folk videos.

3. Editing techniques I have used:
I used the opacity tool to create a faint hint
into the next shot. I did this for many reasons
one) because I was a messing around with
different editing options and I ended up
keeping the effect because I think it was
effective. Reasons two) I wanted my video to
have a lot of effects and I did this by varying
what I used. Reason three) it was a convention
of music videos as a lot of real products use
this editing tool whether it be a sad or happy
song because the effect can have a positive
reflection onto the product.

4. Editing techniques I have used:
I used this sun like a effect on my video because I feel like
it added an almost dramatic effect to my video which I
wanted to show because in that moment in time nobody
knows what’s going to happen. I also used this effect
because its not something that would be seen in the
genre I chose and I wanted to challenge the conventions
of my genre.

5. Editing techniques I have used:
For this editing technique I used the fast tool
which quickened the clip because without the
clip was too fast. Secondly, I used it to break
away from conventions of genre . As this editing
technique isn’t used a lot in indie folk music
videos, I wanted my video to stand out and this
technique helped me do so.

6. Editing techniques I have used:
For this technique I used the reverse tool to
show my characters almost going back. I used
this effect mostly for the same reason I used
the opacity tool. I decided on using this effect
because it was something that you don’t
often see in the genre and I wanted to break
the conventions a little bit so my piece stood
out.

7. Editing techniques I have used:
• I also used a continuity editing style to show that my video is a
narrative and instead of loads of abstract clips that make no related
sense I wanted my video plot to be shown through this narrative
• Secondly, I used this effect because it’s a convention of narrative
music videos as well as being a convention of a genre video.

8. Editing techniques I have used:
• I also used a montage edit of the two characters having fun while they
were together I did this because I didn’t want to make the entire clip
a couple of moments are better than just one.
• This also isn’t a usual convention of a music video of the genre indie
so again I am breaking the stereotypes of the genre.
