The student used Premiere Pro to edit their short film. They used the cut and crop tool to select the parts they wanted to keep and delete unwanted footage. They added a title scene at the beginning to introduce the film and a credits sequence at the end. The student also added a non-diegetic horror soundtrack that gradually increased in volume. Through trial and error, they learned how to unlink audio from video to increase volume and change color levels to match the music.

1. Editing process
In the editing process I used premier pro to edit together my short film. On premier pro I used the cut and crop tool to take the
parts of the film I wanted and to delete the parts what I didn’t want. The cut and crop tool was useful because it deleted the
footage I didn't want in my film. I added a title scene at the beginning of my film so that was the first thing people see in my film,
unless if they didn’t know what it was called they would be curious. I also added a non diegetic soundtrack over the top of my
film to create a sense of horror and mystery. I used a soundtrack what sounded quite sinister and scary because I wanted to
create a horror film. I made the music start off really quiet and it gradually got louder and louder until the final couple of scenes
when the action was taking place and it stopped so the audience could here the dialogue. I added a credits sequence at the end
of the video which I used the credits tool to make the cast and crews name scroll down the screen to make it look as professional
as possible. It took me a while to figure out how to use premier pro but once I knew what I was doing it was easy. When I wanted
the film to be louder than the soundtrack I clicked on the video I wanted to do it on and unlinked the music and the film and then
I had to increase the audio gain to make it louder than the soundtrack. On some of my videos I needed to change the color levels
to match the music so I had to right click on the video and change black and whites in the video. I also inserted different sounds
such as glass smashing and a text tone, because when I tried to increase
the audio gain it wouldn’t do it any justice so I had to insert I separate
video with the sounds on and increase the volume of them so the
soundtrack wouldn't over
power it. I also had all my
videos already rendered and
uploaded to premier pro
so it wouldn’t be a hassle
trying to find them all at
different times.
