3. YouTube is where all music videos are uploaded.
Before constructing my own music video based on
the pop genre, I researched on YouTube, popular
music artists of the pop genre such as Cher Lloyd,
Ellie Goulding, Taylor Swift etc.
From these videos, I specifically focused on the
different locations, the numerous costume choices
and the props that relate to the pop genre.
I also looked at some music videos that consisted of
animations such as Black Eye Peas – The Time and
Sweet Like Chocolate.
4. I used Prezi to put together my creative ideas of
the conventions of a digipak and magazine
advert. I then used it to put together a
presentation specifically focused on female pop
artists as my song choice was sung by Ingrid
Michaelson, a young female artist.
Prezi allowed me to express myself through
images and videos as well as eloquently.
5. On Webs I created my own online account and
created my own webpage, going through step
by step the journey of my research and
planning and how exactly I constructed my own
music video, that I believe to be very similar to
real media products.
I used the calendar on webs to note down all
the draft filming days, the actual filming days,
where they will be located and what time ill be
meeting with my actors and actresses.
6. I used Google images to find artists of
the pop genre and their costume
choices, their make up and the props
used in the pop genre.
I did research on Goodwin’s theory about
the convention’s of a music video.
8. I used YouTube to upload my drafts of the two different
animation clips. I created a variety of different clips and
annotated them with the corrections that I needed to make
when I made the actual animation for my music video.
I uploaded my feedback from my class onto Webs and
annotated with the ideas that I was going to use from my
audience.
I used Photoshop to practice constructing different fonts in
creative ways. I uploaded my drafts onto my webs account. I
also used Photoshop to edit pictures to familiarize myself with
the tools as I was not very experience.
9. I used Webs to upload all my planning and decisions that I
made for actual music video. When I planned to film I
noted it on my calendar.
I used Google images to find images of real female Pop
artists use it to construct my ideas for my music video. I
used images to make decisions mainly about costume and
make up as I wanted to conform to the conventions of a
real Pop music video.
11. Camera’s
I used the DLSR canon camera to film some
parts of my music video. I also used the
camcorder to film the other parts of my
music video. The DSLR was useful mainly
when I was building my animations as I took
pictures and then put the images together
to create my animation. The camcorder was
useful when filming the narrative of my
music video.
12. Photoshop played a massive part in constructing my
ancillary tasks. I used Photoshop to create a background,
new layers, make adjustments to images that I took myself. I
had to create a digipak and a magazine advert for my music
video.
13. FINAL CUT PRO
Final Cut Pro is the software that I used to assemble all my
video clips that I recorded and place them in the correct place
with the correct beat. Final Cut Pro allowed me to add
additional transitions to my music video to make it smooth and
cut to the beat. Using Final Cut Pro I was able to later a few
clips in order to fir into the narrative of my music video.
Motion
I used motion to create a bokeh effect at the beginning of my
video. I used that bokeh effect in my ancillary tasks to keep it
consistent.
15. I used Power Point to explain step by step the
way in which I constructed my video and
ancillary tasks through my research, planning,
constructing and evaluating.
I used PowToon, an animation website to
create an animation about how used my
audience feedback to construct my music
video.
16. FINAL CUT PRO
I used Final Cut Pro to construct a video with
all the conventions I used from real media to
construct my own music video. I also added
the subverted factors to and justified myself.
I think Prezi as the best way to present my
evaluation question. It allowed me to move
back and forth from one side to another while
presenting.
