reflect the requirements outlined in the handbook…
Round 1: 15 Samples per student
Round 2: 25 Samples per student
Round 3: 25 Samples per student
And aligned to appropriate Standards
The documentation data should tell a story of…
• Growth/Progress
• Challenge
• Successes
• Learning
Your documentation data should be error-free
• Documentation samples have:
• correct student name
• correct student data
• are representative over time (not from
one moment in time)
• checklists and charts are complete ( no
missing data)
• observational notes are objective
representations
And finally, you should cross-check your samples with your
developmental data.
How do your samples support, enhance
or conflict with the data in your tracker?
If you are a kindergarten teacher and have chosen to track reading growth, you will
evaluate your documentation samples and make connections specifically to the standards that impact literacy.
