Recitaitif , the story centers around two characters, Twyla and Roberta, as they
spend a few months together in a group home setting when they are eight years old.
In Lullaby , the reader follows Ayah, an old woman, as she remembers many of the
hardships in her life, including the death of her oldest child, the government taking
her children, and the loss of emotional connection to her husband and his eventual
decline into dementia. Twyla and Roberta do eventually regain their voices and
overcome their demons; Ayah does eventually regain her identity, but does not
overcome her other struggles in life. Twyla is faced with the struggles of being a
young woman whose motheris constantly out partying and possibly abusing drugs
and abandons her at the group home. Twyla has to be the mother, and takes care of
herself even at the group home. She grows to face the struggles of a poor waitress

My First Cheerleading Research Paper
As I opened my eyes on an early Saturday morning, I immediately had butterflies in
my stomach. Today is my first cheer competition. I thought about this all morning
as I was getting ready. Everything had to be perfect in order for me to walk out the
door ready to show the world my cheerleading routine. It was an absolute crazy
morning. The hair, the makeup, the uniform, and the white cheer shoes. I never

It took what felt like an entire year to find a parking spot. We were parked in the
way, way back. As I walked in the door, there was already a huge line. I had to get a
bracelet around my wrist to show all the security guards and the people working
and running the competition there that I was there to perform. I was only 8 at the
time so they Deltaplex looked huge in my little eyes. There were posters and signs
of teams surrounding you. My mom found my team sign since I was way to little

My coach, Tina Joy, led my team and I into a special room where we began to
practice our routine. We had exactly 15 minutes to warm up out tumbling skills,
stunts, jumps, pyramid, and dance. When we got the call that the 15 minutes were
up, I began to get even more nervous than I was before. You can do this, you can do
this, you ll be fine I thought over and over again to calm myself down. We waited
for almost over an hour till we got to perform. My team and I stood in our opening
positions right by the mat so we were ready to run on after the team ahead of us
