Descriptive Person Essay
Crafting a Descriptive Person Essay about oneself might seem like a straightforward task at first
glance, as one would assume that writing about personal experiences and characteristics would
come naturally. However, the challenge lies in striking the right balance between self-reflection
and objective description. It requires a delicate interplay of introspection and the ability to
articulate personal traits, experiences, and emotions in a coherent and engaging manner.
The difficulty arises from the fine line between self-promotion and humble self-expression. On
one hand, the writer needs to highlight positive attributes without coming across as boastful,
while on the other hand, they must acknowledge personal flaws without undermining their
overall character. Finding the right words to convey the essence of oneself can be a daunting
task, as it involves a constant struggle to maintain authenticity without oversimplifying or
overcomplicating one's own narrative.
Additionally, the challenge extends to capturing the reader's attention and sustaining their
interest throughout the essay. A Descriptive Person Essay demands vivid language and imagery
to create a compelling portrayal, requiring the writer to delve into specific memories, anecdotes,
and sensory details that make the narrative relatable and engaging.
In conclusion, while writing a Descriptive Person Essay about oneself seems on the surface like
an exercise in self-reflection, it entails a complex interweaving of honesty, humility, and effective
storytelling. It involves navigating the thin line between self-promotion and self-awareness, all
while ensuring the essay remains captivating for the reader.

Idiopathic Arthritis Case Study
uvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is a diverse group of autoimmune mediated,
inflammatory joint disorders (Hashkes, 2005 Spiegel, 2015). JIA is defined as
chronic arthritis without any known cause, lasting longer than 6 weeks and onset
of symptoms before 16 years of age (ILAR 2001 Spiegel, 2015). JIA is the most
common rheumatic disease in children and adolescents with 1 incidence per 1000
and at least 6000 Australians affected by the condition (Armon, 2014). The
International League of Association divides JIA into seven categories of arthritis
(ILAR 2001). These categories are based on clinical features recorded during the
first 6 months of the disease (Weiss, 2005). Specific subgroups are oligoarticular
(persistent or extended), poly articular... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hypothesized contributing factors are genetic predisposition, psychological stress,
hormones, joint trauma or viral infection (Weiss, 2005, Armon, 2014 Lin, 2016).
Recent literature shows that patients with JIA have an adaptive immune system,
particularly T cells. Furthermore, JIA may be antigen driven and lymphocyte
mediated causing an inappropriate generation of inflammation, lacking a normal anti
inflammatory balance (Weiss, 2005). Prolonged inflammation stimulates premature
closure of the growth plate that leads to localized bone growth disturbances, causing
limb length discrepancy (Borros, 2010). Causes of generalized growth disturbances
can be metabolic, endocrinology or malnutrition (Weiss, 2005). The patient may be
at further risk of osteopenia and osteoporosis due to corticosteroids use and lack of
exercise, which decreases peak bone mass in adolescence and increases fracture
Comparing Utnapishtim And Noah s Ark
Those living had built a structure that would carry them over days and nights. Some
among many survive a great flood. Birds were sent to indicate if the flood had
dissipated. These are some of the many moments that symbolize intrical points which
maneuver the stories along. All of these items and ideas bear similarity with two well
known myths, the story of Utnapishtim and Noahs Ark. In The Epic of Gilgamesh, the
story of Utnapishtim and the flood that is reminiscent of the Biblical account of Noah
and the flood, both utilize symbolism of the flood, the structure to survive the flood,
and the birds to establish the theme that though beings are destructive, some will
thrive and flourish.
The flood is one of the many symbols that help the ... Show more content on

He chose to do so once he knew that Noah was an acceptable being and through the
rebirth of other humans he thought that they could achieve the same behavior that
Noah and his family represented. So not all homosapiens are evil and deserve to live.
The ark is another symbol that contributes to the theme that though humans are
intolerable, there are people who are righteous. This is demonstrated in The Epic
of Gilgamesh when the god Ea tells Utnapishtim to tear down his house and build a
boat (108), and then proceeds to inform him of the measurements of the barque as
he shall build her (108). The god Ea further details him to take up into the boat of
all living creatures (108). Utnapishtim listens and loaded into her all that he had of
gold and of living things , his family , his kin, the beast of the field both wild and
tame, and all the craftsmen (109). The ark symbolizes safety and security. The ark
itself would protect themselves and ensure that there would be no danger. These
living beings are the only ones who survive. If the god Ea were to choose someone
righteous to live, he would choose Utnapishtim and his family, otherwise, he wouldn t
have told Utnapishtim about the upcoming flood. In the Bible, God tells Noah to
make himself an ark of cypress wood and tells him of the content and
measurements(New International Version, Genesis 6.14
Spring Break Project Case Study
Our first step in completing the Spring Break Project was choosing a car, and
since the four of us will be traveling a long distance, we decided that a luxury car
would be the best option. Once we decided, we found the cost for renting a luxury
car for each of the companies and created functions to represent the total cost. Those
functions are as follows: y = 0.18x + 308 for Hertz, y = 0.13x + 426 for Enterprise,
y = 0.15x + 364 for Dollar, and y = 0.20x +326 for Avis. We created these formulas
by using the cost per mile as the slope, or the number multiplied by x, and used the
initial cost as the y intercept, which is the number added. When the formulas had
been created, we went on to making our graphs and tables up to 3,000 miles. We
used the tables to analyze our data, and found that Hertz offers the best initial offer
up to 2,000 miles. After 2,000 miles, Dollar becomes the best option, and at 3,250 we
found that Enterprise becomes the best offer. We used our graph to double check this
information, and found that after 3,250 miles, Enterprise is the best option
indefinitely.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The three locations we chose were Myrtle Beach, New York City, and San
Francisco. In order to find out how many miles a trip to each city would be, we
doubled the distance from Greensboro (where we would pick up the car) to the city
to represent the round trip, and added 20 miles to that total in case of detours or in
city travelling. This meant that a trip to Myrtle Beach would 412 miles, New York
City would be 1,098, and San Francisco would be 5,552 miles. To find the cost for
each of these trips, we solved each function for the mileage of each city. Hertz had
the best price for Myrtle Beach and New York City, at $382.16 and $505.64,
respectively. However, Enterprise was the best choice for San Francisco, only costing
Elderly Abuse And Neglect Of The Elderly
Introduction:Elderly abuse is no longer the quite as kept family secret. Due to the
economic pressures of families reuniting to make ends meat and the medical
treatment with improved diets, which adds to the length of life contributes to family
stressors. These stresses may present themselves in the form of sexual, physical,
psychological, emotional and fiscal abuse. This paper will give exposure to many
known causes and treatment, analyze current and past data outlining the potential rise
in abuse of the elderly population and present possible solutions that potentially
reduce identified trends and assist in the reduction of elderly mistreatment. Analysis
of the problem There are many approaches to take when discussing about... Show

This will help eliminate the problems that exist in elderly abuse. Children that have
been abused usually tend to reciprocate the abuse, women are more likely to be
sexually abused than men, a wealthy elderly person may be more prevalent to
fiscal abuse, all abuse is under reported. What is unknown are the triggers that tend
to cause elderly abuse and neglect. True statistics is not known because of
unreported cases for elderly abuse. Nationalities that live under the conditions
everyday with extended families tend not to have a high number of problems with
older adults. Families that are in lower social economic status have a higher rate of
abuse and neglect in the older adult population. When the condition of the state
continues to breed poverty, ignorance and lack of access to quality education
create circumstances that can contribute to future situations for elderly abuse.
Elderly abuse tends not to be present in wealthy communities, here is why; they
can afford end of life care so as not to be a burden to the caregiver, and having had
access to wealth for medical and increase diets needs which leads to better heath.
The National Center on Elder Abuse says there is a risk of 300% for death of
elders who experience abuse compared to those who have not been abused (28).
There is no range limit as to how far different types of abuse, neglect and
abandonment will reach for the elderly people. In addition, long term care and

Narrative Essay On Isle Royale
I can t believe I spent $550 on a plane flight from Palm Springs,California, all the
way across the country to Duluth,Minnesota, man that plane flight was frustrating
especially with the crying baby and the little kid who kept kicking the back of my
seat for the entirety of the flight. And then to ride a bike to Tofte, take a break at a
lovely hotel, then to Grand Port on bike, my journey just began. Taking a water taxi
lonesomely from Grand Portage, Minnesota to Windigo, Isle Royale, I was falling in
love with the green trees and the beautiful calm water.Today was my first day
venturing to this isolated land, talking to people around here I found that out that in
1843, Isle Royale was acquired from the Ojibwa Indian tribe through one of the...

anyone and those who I did seemed to be enjoying themselves. I ve been walking
along Washington Creek it wasn t much of a creek, it was more dry and empty
which saddened me. I kept walking until i heard some branches cracking I turned
around and saw a moose. Its eyes gazing upon the container of berries that I

and picking four berries I handed them to the moose. Its antlers were beautiful
looking soft so I called it Plush. Plush didn t follow me for very long after that but its
antlers were the most remarkable of it all that day . I kept walking around looking at
the tall grass and herbs with broken branches lying around as well. Day became night

Penguins Compare And Contrast
Oil spills affected both of the penguins that live on islands. In The Amazing penguin
rescue they saved roughly 40,000 penguins and in The seabird chronicle they rescued
just over 1,000 penguins. Both texts have many similarities and differences.
Some similarities of the texts are people want to help also that both of the penguins
live on islands. In both stories people want to help the penguins. In the text it says, ...
thousands of volunteers flock to the warehouse eager to help...
(Tarshish 18 ) also, ...Phillip island put the sweater donations to good use, helping
save more than 1,000 little penguins, (Lewis 19 ).It shows that people want to help
and save the penguins. Next, both penguins live on islands. In the text it says, An

Job Description
The Diagnostic Sonography more commonly known as Ultrasound is a medical
procedure in which you use high frequency sound waves to produce visual images of
organs tissues or blood flow inside the body. Ultrasound is regularly known as the
procedure used to examine women who are expecting. Although, Sonography is used
in many different ways other than for expectant mothers. Sonography is also used to
detect such things as heart disease, heart attacks, and vascular disease that can lead
to stroke. (SDMS, 2010) Moreover, Sonography is also used to examine breasts,

The profession is physically demanding, too; most of a physical therapist s time is
spent standing, crouching, bending, and using her muscles, and long days followed
by sore evenings are common. Also, physical therapists spend about 10 percent of
their time on tedious paper work, filing progress reports and filling out insurance
claim forms. This aspect of the job is expected to become more demanding in the
future, as insurers are now targeting rehabilitation therapy for cuts ( Physical therapist,
2010).
Education Requirements
The Diagnostic Sonography can vary from one to four years depending on
schooling and experience. There are vocational colleges that offer the program in as
little as 16 months. The majority of the schools require the same background in
basic science, algebra and general physics. The students must be able to demonstrate
the capacity to pass all these requirements before they can commence on their actual
diagnostic training. Once training has been fulfilled, a Diagnostic Medical
Sonographers can achieve a job in a hospital, clinics public or private. On an average,
a Diagnostic Sonographer can work a full time job that consists of forty hours a
week. Some sonographers work evening and weekends as well. Just like a regular

Essay about Reframing
Chapter by Chapter Notes and Teaching Suggestions
CHAPTER 20. BRINGING IT ALL TOGETHER: CHANGE AND LEADERSHIP
IN ACTION CHAPTER 20 OVERVIEW
Chapter 20 Summary ___________________________________________________
The chapter opens with a case Robert F. Kennedy High School depicting the many
problems facing David King, the new principal of a deeply troubled urban high school
. A school that opened with high hopes only a few years ago now finds itself mired in
conflict and dissatisfaction. King s first meeting with his new administrative staff
produces a blow up in which a male housemaster physically threatens the chair of the
English department. By the end of the case, the situation feels overwhelming. Is there
hope? The authors follow ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Chapter 20: Replay and Critique of David King s Reframing _______________
There is value in having students compare their own thinking about the RFK High
case with the reframing process depicted for David King in the chapter. One way to
do this is to ask students to read the case, stop there, and engage in their own effort
to reframe using the same questions David King used. (This can be done either
individually or in groups.) Once students have developed their own diagnoses, they
can read the remainder of the chapter and compare their thinking with David King s.
Another option appears in Exercise 20.1.
Chapter 20: Applying Reframing to Cases or Personal Experience_________
The chapter focuses on putting it all together: integrating everything learned about
organizations and leadership into more comprehensive and powerful understanding
and action. The reframing process illustrated in the chapter can be applied to almost
any case or experience: students personal cases, published cases, films or fiction, or
class experiences (role plays, experiential activities, team experiences, the course).
Instructors can, for example, have students study a challenging case (multiple
suggestions are offered elsewhere in this instructor s guide) and then, either
individually or in teams, reframe to develop both diagnoses and solutions.
Individuals or groups will differ in what they see and what
Financial Article Review
Financial Article Review The topic of Taylor s keynote speech is not an original
one: he wants to know, share, and understand how the financial crisis in the first
decade of the 21st century occurred. The method or approaching in tackling this
issue is more original: he contends that some of the greatest factors influencing the
onset of financial catastrophe is due to policies. At the heart of Taylor s argument
is the presence of policies that created a sort of breeding ground for such a crisis to
occur. The time period of his focus are the years 2000 2008. Taylor refers to a loose
fitting monetary policy as one of the catalysts for the crisis. Throughout the speech,
there are charts and graphs that reflect, analyze, or synthesize the text/speech, so as
to avoid redundancy. He states that a loose fitting monetary policy contributed to the
historic drops in interest rates from 2001 2004, improving by 2006, but never
reaching the heights seen in 2000. He contends that the choice to lower the interests
rates were in response to counteracting the problem of deflation, from which Japan
suffered in the 1990s. After spending some time deliberating upon the local reasons
why the crisis occurred, he expands his search for the reasons of the financial crisis
on a global scale. Taylor explains the logic behind how the investment choices of
companies, markets, governments, and industries influence and connect with the
policy making that lead to the crisis. Though Taylor is
Homosexuality and University Press
Homosexuality (male).
Definition Homosexuality refers to sexual behaviors and desires between males or
between females. Gay refers to self identification with such practices and desires, like
homosexual, both terms mostly used only for men. Lesbian is its female counterpart.
Such definitions have run into major problems, and nowadays the concept queer is
used to indicate the fluency of sexual practices and gender performances.
Sociological context
Since the 1970s, homosexuality has become the topic of an interdisciplinary
specialization variously called gay and lesbian, queer or LGBT studies (Lesbian,
Gay, Bisexual and Transgender to which sometimes are added QQI: Queer,
Questioning and Intersexual). The field is far removed ... Show more content on

The Dutch physician and homosexual rights activist Lucien von Römer worked
with Hirschfeld on sexual statistics. In a survey of 308 Amsterdam students done in
1904, he not only counted the men who identified as homosexual (2%) and
bisexual (4%), but as well those who had gay sex during puberty (21%) or
homosexual fantasies (6%). In the first Dutch gay novel that appeared this same
year, the author Jacob IsraГ«l de Haan told how he as a student made fun answering
the questions. He already made clear how unreliable such data often are.
Hirschfeld also came with the first urban geography, Berlin s Third Gender (1904)
in which he described the city s gay subculture of bars and parks and the elaborate
world of male prostitution. Mainly German books on the history of sexual
morality ( Sittengeschichte ) that often included chapters on homosexuality,
preceded and influenced the work of later sociologists and historians, like Norbert
Elias and Michel Foucault. The work of these psychiatrists who started to give
names, definitions and identities to disease, crime and perversion, made possible
the work of sociologists creating labeling theory. In many ways, this early research
paved the way for what would become a sociology of (homo)sexuality (Schmeidler
1932). The enormous body of work, available mainly thanks to early, prewar
German sexology, was largely forgotten when the main location of sex research after
World War II moved
Protein Based Ligands For Tumor Targeting
In addition to peptides, protein based ligands such as Affibody proteins have been
utilized for tumor targeting. Anti epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)

NH2) is used to target EGFR that is overexpressed in a wide variety of human
tumors. Cheng and co workers used anti EGFR Affibody proteinas tumortargeting
ligand on 64Cu Au IO nanoparticles (PET component: 64Cu, MRI component: iron
oxide, specific for EGFR) surface.[63] In their work, A431 tumor cells were
subcutaneously implanted in the right shoulders of nude mice; and 64Cu NOTA Au
IONP Affibody nanoparticles were administered via tail vain injection. Rather low
resolution PET image showed that these nanoparticles were taken by EGFR positive
A431 (human epithelial carcinoma cell line) cells reaching 4.6% ID/g at 24 h after
injection, significantly higher than that obtained from the blocking experiment
(1.9% ID/g) indicating the specificity of the probe. This difference in % ID/g values
corroborated with 44% drop in MRI signal intensity that was observed for the tumor.
In this study, the use of an Affibody protein as ligand for EGFR expressing tumor in
small animals was demonstrated to be successful; however, the benefit of
multimodality was not demonstrated. The unique chemistry of this dumbbell shaped
Au IO nanoprobe could pave the way for targeted drug delivery into EGFR
expressing tumors
Benefits Of Dense Energy Storage
Advantages
Dense energy storage
The greatest advantage associated with methane clathrates is that, per amount of fuel,
they have a much higher energy potential due to the dense storage of methane in the
lattice structure. The concentration of methane within clathrates is 6500 times higher
than in saturated aqueous solution (Ripmeester, J.A., Alavi, S., 2016), meaning less
clathrates would have to be mined to receive the same energy provided by other fuels,
reducing the negative environmental impacts and possibly the cost of processes such
as mining and transport. Furthermore, with the ever growing population, more and
more energy is required by humans each year and methane clathrates has the potential
to provide this energy. Methane ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Similar to other natural gas, clathrates can also contain propane and butane but the
combustion of these would not produce pollution either.
Mining for coal can bring heavy metals to the surface that, when in aqueous form, can
travel distances from the original mining site. As the extraction of methane clathrates
would be largely from marine sites, heavy metals would be less of an issue due to the
distance from human habitations.
Easy infrastructural transitions
There is a simple transition from coal and natural gas to the use of methane
clathrates as the process of obtaining electrical energy from the chemical is via the
same process and the offshore mining of oil and natural gas stations could be used to
obtain clathrates (Collette). No new infrastructure would have to be developed,
reducing the cost of the project. This is a significant benefit compared to the
development of nuclear fuel which has high start up costs due to infrastructure.
Disadvantages
Limited sources near Australia
Methane Clathrates may be a viable source of energy in other countries but it is
unlikely to be highly beneficial in Australia due to the scarce amount of potential
sites available, refer to map ~. Furthermore, the concentration of hydrates in marine
deposits appears to be low, reducing the economic potential for Australia (Collette).
Clathrate deposits are high in concentration around Japan, offshore Alsaka, the east

The Problem Of Digital Piracy
1.0 Situation Analysis 1.1Introduction: Digital Piracy refers to the occurrence of
unauthorized copying of digital goods, documents, video and audio without the legal
approval of the owners (Lixuan Zhang Wayne William 2009). Software privacy is
reported to cost the film industry an estimated $58 billion per year in the United
States alone (Ma et al, 2011.). Sony is a Japanese multinational corporation, with
business in a variety of areas including; consumer and professional electronics,
gaming, music and motion pictures. Piracy of Sony s content is a continuing
problem, and the management team has made various attempts at prosecuting the
individuals who pirate. The management team attempted to deter the individuals
pirating, through sending legal letters threatening action, however this only led to a
short term impact. In order to work towards a long term solution, the management
team would like to understand what factors impact a person s likelihood to download
pirated material. 1.2 Problem Statement: Sony have a problem of digital piracy, which
has a multitude of impacts on the company, including huge revenue losses, losses of
jobs, and an overall diminishment on the growth of the software industry (Peace,
Galletta and Thong, 2014). There are a number of factors which contribute towards
the intention to commit digital piracy. These factors include; the age of the
individual digitally pirating, the punishment severity imposed, the perceived
behavioral control,
The Minimum Wage Debate
The minimum wage debate brings about a range of reactions from different
people. There are those who believe that there shouldn t even be a minimum wage
and that wages should be determined by the markets. On the other hand, we have
those who vigorously argue for increasing the wage minimum citing inflation, the
poverty line and worker productivity. Regardless, we do have a federal minimum
wage rate in the United States at $7.25 per hour, with some states having a higher
minimum wage than the federal minimum. President Obama, in his first state of
the union address of his second term proposed Tonight, let s declare that, in the
wealthiest nation on Earth, no one who works full time should have to live in
poverty, and raise the federal minimum wage to $9 an hour (The White House
2013). A year later, he has revised that number to $10.10 per hour after signing an
executive order that has already raised the minimum wage for federal workers to
that number. (The White House 2014). With more and more states raising their own
minimum wage, a minimum wage increase seems almost imminent with Democrats
and Republicans getting closer to a deal. (Bolton 2014). But we are more interested
in the efficiency of a minimum wage implemented at the federal level. The main
question that surrounds this debate is whether this price floor in labor markets is
efficient given that the stated goal of the minimum wage is to make sure full time
workers earn a living wage and are above the poverty line.
Foundation Of Leadership
Chapter Two Analysis
The Foundation of Leadership by Kouzes James and Posner Barry focused on a
study that was conducted to figure out what most people look for in a leader. It
mentioned about a questionnaire being done on 76,000 people around the globe to
see what specific personal traits, characteristics,or attributes they want in a leader.
They asked several people what values, personal traits, or characteristics do they
look for and admire in a leader. In response there was several hundred different
values, traits, and characteristics. From this it was reduced down to twenty
characteristics. Then it became four that was the most striking/ most evident that
received over 60% of the votes. Those four striking characteristics of a leader are
being honest, forward looking, inspiring, and competent. One characteristic of a leader
are being honest. A leader cannot model the way without being seen as honest

People expect their leaders to be enthusiastic, energetic, and positive about the future.
If a leader is upbeat, positive, and optimistic about the future that offers people hope.
A leader must be able to communicate in a way that excites them about the cause.
They have to make the context meaningful. Leaders showing enthusiasm and
excitement are important they signal the leader s personal commitment to pursuing a
dream. Inspiring leaders tell their coworkers that they need to have a meaning or
purpose in their lives.
The fourth striking characteristic of a leader is competent. Leadership competence
has to do with the leader s checklist and ability to get things done. The leader will
need to guide the entire organization, whether if it s large or small in the direction
which it needs to go. A leader needs to be more technically knowledgeable than
someone less involved in providing service or making
Liberalism, A Common Ideologies, Social Democracy And...
Liberalism is one of the two most common ideologies in the United States, with the
other being conservatism, and the ideology that I identify with the most. The other
two common ideologies, social democracy and libertarianism, are not brought up as
often in politics, and as such, I will be talking about them minimally. According to the
textbook, By The People: Debating American Government, liberalismis, [rejecting]
the idea that public officials should interfere in people s private lives, and being,
all for active government when it comes to economic policy or corporate
regulation. (Morone, Kersh, 2016, p.36). Liberalism is, in my words, the belief
that government has little need to restrict certain behaviors or actions in the lives
of its citizens, but instead that the time and money that would be spent on
restricting these should go towards helping the economy or regulating the actions
of companies. Some efforts that liberals have been working towards are protecting
the environment, limiting the actions of banks, and creating more government
programs to help people who need it, or at least increasing funding for said
programs. Liberals tend to work towards equality for all, whether it be equality of
genders, of race, or minimizing the gaps between socioeconomic classes. Liberals
are more accepting to new areas of science and new breakthroughs in science than
conservatives, and science is the general path I see my life going on. As such, I feel
like I fit in much

Yu EBao s advantages to users:
1.High profitability and high liquidity
Compared with traditional financial products, Yu EBao has a higher interest rate than
deposit interest rate and a more convenient transaction process than fund, providing
users a good performance with high profitability and high liquidity. The interest rate
of Yu EBao generally fluctuates between 4% to 7% since its launchпјЊmuch higher
than current deposit interest rate of 0.35% , even the fixed term interest rate of
3.25% (one year), which obviously is very attractive to investors. On the other hand,
it usually takes about two days to redeem money from other kinds of investment

It dramatically increases investment efficiency and cuts down the investment costs
for customers.
3. No restrictions on minimum purchase amount
The principle of no restrictions on minimum purchase amount adopted by Yu EBao
contributes to the concentration of more fragmented and idle money in society,
enhances the utilization of social capital, at the same time provides clients a more
convenient banking services. On the other hand, this covenant lite investment is also
beneficial to enlighten customers who have never been involved in financial services
with basic finance and investment ideas, which is playing an important role in
establishing a correct and acute sense for investment and financing in the whole
society.
Yu EBao s advantages to financial market:
Firstly, the most significant advantage of Internet finance product is to promote
interest rate liberation. Previously, China s financial activities are highly controlled
by government. However, with the further development of market economy, China is
regularly deregulating the financial market. Interest rate liberation in financial market
is the key step in the process of transformation to full market economy. Interest rate
liberation means that according to the supply and demand of fund, its price is decided
by financial market subjects including financial institutions, enterprises and
inhabitants. If interest rateпјЊespecially the deposit interest rate is only determined

The Non Alcoholic Beverage Segment
The non alcoholic beverage segment is a very competitive and dynamic sector and
encompasses a broad range of categories as showed in the chart below: The market
size is currently around $ 170 billion in sales and is projected to grow to $190
billion by 2020. As the graph below points out, the CSDs remain the largest single
sub category within the segment. However, as the CSD sub category continues to
decline, it is expected that most of the segment growth will be driven by smaller,
emerging better for you brands.
In reality, many of these sub categories are already experiencing a growth driven by
both the increasing demand for healthier, better for you alternatives and the
companies abilities to launch new products with original flavors and innovative
packaging.
As outlined in the chart above, between 2003 and 2013, per capita consumption of
CSDs decreased by 23%, while bottled water saw a 105% increase and juices and
other noncarbonated drinks increased 55%. While the CSDs sales are expected to
continue declining, other healthier and functional non alcoholic beverage categories
are expected to continue gaining share.
MARKET TRENDS
At least three factors may be considered as growth propellers in the group of healthy,
non carbonated beverages. The most important and widely discussed is the growing
consumer awareness and concerns about the effects of diet on health and well being.
This new approach, which has been producing profound effects on consumption
habits,

texts differ contextually, with Donne s 17th Century poetry and Edson s 20th Century
script writing, their contextual connections allow an enriched understanding of both
the texts.
Death is conveyed to a large extent within Donne s poems of Holy Sonnets.

This is portrayed in the scene in which Vivian goes back to her old college
Professor, E.M. Ashford. Vivian s fear is shown through the use of ellipsis as
Vivian feels uncomfortable due to the fact that she can no longer hide behind
words. Furthermore Vivian s view on death is also conveyed in this scene as
Vivian believes there is far more separating life and death than that of a comma, a
breath, as said by E.M Ashford. Death, towards the end of the play, becomes an
acceptance for Vivian as she finally embraces the true faith in which Donne had
towards an afterlife and overcomes her salvation anxiety. Vivian begins to crave
kindness and comfort when she never has before, this conveys Vivian s change of
heart. Through the quote It : such a small word. In this case I think it signifies
being alive one can see that Vivian no longer feels the pull towards life as she did in
the beginning of the play. The audience knows when Vivian is truly ready to die upon
Vivian s stage direction as she attempts a grand summation as if trying to conjure up
her own ending. She then recites her original interpretation of John Donne s Death Be
Not Proud where only a breath separates life from death. Thus one can observe that
through contextual connections that a greater understanding can be obtained in
relation to the play Wit by Margaret Edson and the theme of death. Furthermore it is

Roman Ruins Of Spain Essay
Essay by Kentrell Hardemon Pace
Would you like to see amazing broken down buildings from hundreds of years ago?
Then Spain is the best place to go. I say this because, Spain was under the Roman
Empire s influence for more than 700 years. The Romans helped the Spanish build
many amazing structures and cities, what are now considered Roman ruins. Spain is

Matthew And John s Gospel
Jesus is the central figure of Christianity. He was born in Bethlehem, Israel, about
2,000 years ago, and at the age of 30, He began His ministry which lasted 3 1/2
years. He gathered 12 disciples who followed Him throughout Israel as He went
around teaching and performing miracles. Eventually His popularity and His views,
which conflicted with the legalistic Jewish leaders of the time.
The story of Jesus as Christians know and tell it, comes from that part of the Bible
called the New Testament. The first four books Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are
known as the gospels, meaning good news. They were all written between about
70 and 100 CE, about two generations after the death of Jesus, and are based on
stories of Jesus, told and retold by his followers. Matthew, Mark, and Luke are
called the synoptic gospels, because they present a common view of Jesus through
many common sayings, parables, and events. Both Matthew and Luke seem to have
used Mark s gospel in writing their own accounts. ... Show more content on

The gospels come out of early communities still struggling with their identity in a
Jewish context. The Gospel of Matthew, for instance, is most conscious of the debates
within Judaism after the destruction of the Temple in 70 CE. Although the gospels
differ in their accounts of Jesus life and ministry, sometimes in significant ways, the
early church did not blend them into one account, but preserved these four gospels,
with their differences. Together they provide four views of the life and teachings of

How To Write An Essay On L. A Candy
How do you cope when in just a few short months you go from being regular
everyday eighteen year old girls to being reality tv stars? L.A candy by Lauren
Conrad is about two girls named Jane and Scarlett. They move from their small
town in Santa Barbara to Los Angeles. One night well blowing off some steam at a
club they meet a producer named Travis. Travis offers them a chance of a lifetime
by offering to recruit them for his new reality show, but if they say yes will they
still be the same people? In this journal I will be questioning, evaluating and
visualizing. My first question is how Jane and Scarlett live together? Because Jane
is so quiet and shy and Scarlett is outgoing, funny and convivial. Maybe because
they balance eachother out. Like Jane s so quiet and Scarlet is so sociable.
Therefore they just balance. Also why does Jane go out with Jesse when it s
obvious she want Braedon? My first guess is because Jesse is a movie star and
who doesn t want a movie star boyfriend. Or maybe because she mentioned to
Gabby when Gabby asked if she met someone I met one guy, but I think he has a
girlfriend (Conrad 121). It also could be that she want to show Braedon what s he s

Figurative Language Of A Poison Tree By William Blake
The poem A Poison Tree is one of the most wonderful and appreciated works of
William Blake. It was published in the year 1794 in his collection of Songs of
Experience, which talks about various emotions of humans. The poem consists of
stanzas and each stanza has four quatrains. And also; there are 16 lines and harmony
between lines because the rhymescheme of the poem is AABB friend (friend) end

poem such as apple and tree. It seems as if the poem is full of hatred but the poet

He states that he is the only responsible person who has increased the anger in his
heart. He has watered the hatred with his fears and spent hours by crying. He has
provided the sunshine which contains deceitful traps or tricks.
William Blake compares his anger with a fruit of the tree by using figurative
language in this quatrain. A tree needs water and sun in order to bear fruit, and so
does his anger. Moreover; It seems ironic because; growing tree is a good, positive
thing and a symbol of life but here, growing tree is compared to a growing anger.
Because of the poet s efforts, his tree (anger) eventually bears fruit: a bright apple ,
the hatred gave birth to an apple. The poet says that there is now evil born of hatred
in his heart. The fruit has now struck. And the enemy realizes that it belongs to the
poet. The final quatrain brings the hatred to an end. After the enemy has seen the
apple, he pinches the apple from the poet s garden when it s midnight. In the
morning, the poet wakes up and goes to the garden, he sees the enemy while he has
lain under the tree since he ate the apple. It is not known that he died or fell asleep
but this relaxes his mind and calms his hatred

Comparing Stifled Voices In Recitaitif And Lullaby
Stifled Voices in Recitaitf and Lullaby Two women, mostly suppressed and alone,
partially due to their race, sometimes for their gender, always stifled. In Morrison s
Recitaitif , the story centers around two characters, Twyla and Roberta, as they
spend a few months together in a group home setting when they are eight years old.
In Lullaby , the reader follows Ayah, an old woman, as she remembers many of the
hardships in her life, including the death of her oldest child, the government taking
her children, and the loss of emotional connection to her husband and his eventual
decline into dementia. Twyla and Roberta do eventually regain their voices and
overcome their demons; Ayah does eventually regain her identity, but does not
overcome her other struggles in life. Twyla is faced with the struggles of being a
young woman whose motheris constantly out partying and possibly abusing drugs
and abandons her at the group home. Twyla has to be the mother, and takes care of
herself even at the group home. She grows to face the struggles of a poor waitress
who marries into a loving family, struggling with stability. As she and Roberta age
and grow apart and run into each other, their main source of contention has been
Maggie. Maggie is mute and possibly deaf, and is of undetermined race, but is a
mostly functional adult who is abused by the girls (Morrison 1405). How they treat
her is reflective of their feelings towards their mothers, Twyla minimizing and
repressing, and Roberta blames the other of hurting her. They can t reconcile their
past, and so they go their separate ways. She struggles to find her voice when she
encounters Roberta, as their racial differences and accusations keep her from

her mother long gone, Twyla can finally heal herself. Roberta is personally stifled

Analysis And Belief Of The Crocodile
Analysis and Belief
The crocodile has a significant role in Papua New Guinea culture. The people over
there believe that reptiles are human s ancestors. The reason they are cutting their
skin and pretending to be a crocodile is because they also believe by withstanding
the pain, they will be strong enough to face the difficulties and problems in the
future. Also the skin cutting act is for separating young men from the world of
womenfolk, and to fill them with the power of crocodile.
Another reason that they want to cut their skin is because without the skin cutting
rituals, they (young men) are not a full member of their father s clan. It is an
interesting culture which very different to modern society s because we were born
to be our family s clan, we don t have to do anything to prove because we have

there s a certain amount of the people doesn t appreciate of their identity and always

1950 s Sociology
The 1950 s saw a boom in the development of suburbs to counter the post World War
2 housing shortage problem as living in the suburbs offered an alternative to the
overcrowded cities. This phenomenon coincided with the significant growth of the
American economy, which granted the people stronger purchasing power to own a
big house in the suburbs and the confidence to improve their socioeconomic status.
Consequently, the suburban lifestyle came to be associated with strong familial ties
and upward social mobility, which can be defined as the American ideals of the 1950
s. It is important to note that the media had a very significant role in shaping these
ideals, mainly through situational comedies (sitcoms) on television and

the African Americans, homosexuals and Americans from a lower socioeconomic

little or no mention of other races. Set in a wider context, these American ideals
coincided with the Civil Rights Movement (1954) which sought to end racial
discrimination and segregation, therefore highlighting how these ideals did not
encompass Americans from all walks of life but only the white majority. Hence in
leaving out Americans from other racial and social groups, the media mostly shaped

Key Elements For Tissue And Organ Regeneration
Introduction Tissue engineering is an interdisciplinary approach that basically
replaces, restore the function and regenerate the damaged cell or tissue using
biological substitutes. Succinctly, extracellular matrix (ECM) in human tissue is a
key element for tissue and organ regeneration. It provides a convenient environment
for the cellular attachment, growth and migration stimulate by specific signals. This
solid matrix has a complex mixture of structural and functional proteins that serve as
a reliable source of nutrient for the cells. ECM also associated with the cell
behaviour, tissue differentiation, organisation and neovascularisation. In tissue
engineering, the suitable scaffolds are use to act as an ECM analogue (1). The
various roles and complicated composition of ECM become a great challenge for the
scaffolds to mimic the native ECM in repairing the diseased or damaged tissue. Thus,
it is important to develop the ideal scaffolds with optimal properties and architecture
since its mechanical characteristics will greatly affect the activity of cell adhesion,
proliferation and differentiation. Apparently, the biomaterial used in fabrication of
scaffolds may influence its significant features, such as biodegradability, bioactivity
and porosity. The bioactivity, including cell adhesion, cell alignment and interaction
between scaffolds and cellular components could be enhanced by adding the
biological cues onto the biomaterials. Besides that, it is also important for

family stories is from the summer of 2008. Jack and I had been together for three
years and had a one year old son. We were renting a house in Spring Branch, about
five miles from my mom s house. He was working in Beaumont and had an
apartment that the company paid for and at the time, he did not have a roommate co

We all agree to try to make it home and head back towards Houston. His apartment
was off of Major near Hwy 105 Conroe. We took this all the way to Conroe with
very little traffic. I do not remember exactly how long it took us to get back but, I
know it was nothing near the amount it would have taken us if we would have tried
to take I 10. Thankfully, we made it home safely. However, we went without
electricity for an entire month after the hurricane was over and done. The
significance as to why I chose this particular family story is because it is one of my
favorite adventures. Furthermore, my best friend who was with us, Vince, past
away four years ago and this is one our many escapades together. My family story
probe has reflected one of my many experiences of survival. Communication skills are
expressed throughout my family involvements during hurricane Ike, summer of 2008.

When this brand reputation is combined with low priced cars, the sales revenues of
Ford are likely to increase. The new cars should be fuel efficient. There should be cost
savings for the customer both when the cars are purchased and when the cars are used.
The feedback from this strategy will be that the market share of Ford will increase.
The increase in Ford revenues will be higher than the growth of auto demand. The
measure of success of this strategy will be an increase in the market share of Ford.
The customers who are attracted to foreign cars because of lower prices and lower

Shirley Temple
America s little darling, everyone knows her but where did she come from?
George Francis Temple was her father (Shirley Temple). He was born in 1888 and
eventually became a banker (Shirley Temple). Her mother s name was Gertrude
Amelia Krieger, she was born in 1893(Shirley Temple). They had two sons whose
names were: Jack Temple and George Jr. Temple (Shirley Temple). While
expecting their first daughter Gertrude played the phonograph and attended dance
recitals (Shirley Temple). Finally on April 23, 1929 a beautiful baby girl was born

she attended the Oscars (Shirley Temple). In 1935 not only did she attend the
Oscars that year, she was also the youngest person ever to present an Oscar at age

which was a great privilege, but she was very upset because her trophy was not

Conflicting Artistic Styles In The Enlightenment
Conflicting Artistic Styles in the Enlightenment The Enlightenment era spanned from
the latter half of the 1600s to the end of the 1700s and was a time of monumental
shifts in political ideology and social structure. Although some forms of art, especially
music, did not become emotional vehicles of individual experience until the
Romantic period, the art of the Enlightenment certainly reflected the changing social
climate of the era and the political views of the artists. A prime example of the
portrayal of social life in the arts during the Enlightenment is in the conflict between
the Rococo and Neo Classical movements. Not only is Rococo art and architecture
aesthetically pleasing, but during the eighteenth century this type of artwork helped
the nobility momentarily forget about the brooding societal climes in which they
lived. The mood of Rococo artwork is often carefree (though sometimes tinged with a
bit of sadness), the color hues are muted, and the subjects are usually aristocratic
figures enjoying various hobbies. Style galant and Empfindsamkeit are two... Show

The textbook states that The aims and ideals of the Roman Republic freedom,

and restraint (p. 568). Thus, Neo Classicism was one way in which the lower classes
of Europe identified with the worldview of the ancient Romans as they sought to
better their position in society. Classical music, which is characterized by the
expression of emotion in a thoughtful, structured manner, was one result of the Neo
Classical movement. The Classical tradition gave rise to the symphonic form, which
was perfected by the now famous composers Franz Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang

Polygamy Is Not All The Hype
People have participated in polygamy in approximately 85 percent of societies
(Kaczor). Our society is one of the eighty five percent that has practiced polygamy.
Polygamy is given the negative bias in our society, but the Brown family is pushing
the boundaries of reality television by trying to shine a positive light on polygamy.
There are two sides to polygamy, like every story, polygamy is not all the hype it is
given. The nettle of the proponents and opponents of polygamy is a battle of morals
and ethics. Should it be ethical for someone to have more than one spouse? Is it
morally acceptable to let children live with multiple stepmothers? Polygamy is not a
common practice in the United States due to the fact that it is illegal, but... Show more

Polygynandry is where two or more men are married to two or more woman.
Polygamy may come in different forms, but the general idea of polygamy is having
more than one spouse.
The idea of having more than one spouse originated millions of years ago. During
times when the female population was higher than the male population, polygamy
was common so that each female could have a sense of financial stability from a
husband. Polygamy was accepted throughout societies because of the need for
woman to have a husband to financially support her and give her a family. Then
when better medical care was able to save more lives the male and female
population became almost equal in numbers, this caused the Roman Empire and the
Roman Catholic Church to impose the rule of having just one wife, but multiple
other lovers were the norm (History of Polygamy). Polygamy was then
unacceptable in the United States when The Roman Catholic Church imposed the
new rule. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter days Saints allowed polygamy into
the United Sates (History of Polygamy). When polygamy was allowed back into the
United States many people were upset with the unethical practice being allowed back
into the United States. Polygamy in the United States ended back in the year 1890
when Wilford Woodruff was the president. But officially it was the year 1899 when
the members of this church began to be thrown out for being polygamous (History

LED s or Light Emitting Diodes have been around since the 60 s and I think they
are starting to decline. The new technology slowly replacing LED s are OLED s or
Organic Light Emitting Diodes. Now these are special because they contain small
quantities of organic material such as carbon. OLED s feature many vase
improvements over its older friend LED s, these include: flexibility, durability,
transparency and the list goes on! Although this all comes with an unfortunately large
price tag.
While OLED s are a great technology nowadays they have not always been so
advanced. The first working OLED was created in 1987 by Ching W. Tang and
Steven Van Slyke at Eastman Kodak. Although this was the first technically working

Electroluminescence is when a material emits light in response to the passage of an
electric current or to a strong electric field being applied through the substance (J.

In the early days of production OLED s were very
Character Analysis Of Angie In The Gift Of Cochise
The traditional western hero has so closely synonymized itself with the image of the
rugged, horse riding, cowboy hat wearing, gun shooting white man, that a fearful
wife and mother appears entirely antithetical to the very notion of the frontier hero.
Yet, Louie L amour adeptly crafts his western hero out of the very same
aforementioned traits through his character Angie in The Gift of Cochise. Angie s
logical, pragmatic, and calculated actions, because of her role as a wife and mother,
allow her to successfully advance westward and settle in Apache territory as the
rightful western hero of the story. While various male characters attempt dutifully to
satisfy Turner s hypothesis of advancement westward, their reckless approach to the...

His descriptions as tough and brawling emphasize the resilience associated with the
traditional western hero. However, his lack of defined purpose in continuing his
pursuit westward causes him to fall short of truly encapsulating the western hero.
Angie Lowe, in contrast, diverges from her father s credulous justification for
moving west, by choosing to move for the particular reason of helping her husband,
settling when she sees a territory satisfactory for her family. Her fulfillment of Turner
s hypothesis centers around her duty as a wife to help Ed leave Santa Fe for a more
suitable home rather than the intangible and nebulous allure of the glorified west. L
amour deliberately mentions that Angie, not Ed, chooses the property on West Dog
Canyon, implying that the move into the frontier is solely because Santa Fe [is] not
good for Ed (L amour 58). More importantly, unlike her father, who continues
moving even after finding a wife and having a kid, Angie stops once she finds the
house with grass, water, and shelter from the wind, [that] Angie with an Irish eye for
the land saw would grow crops (L amour 58). As evidenced by Angie s choice to
move west, not because of glory or adventure, but for the practical advancement of
her family, Angie more successfully fills the role of the western hero. While her

Concepts of Family and Home in Jane Austen s Persuasion
In Jane Austen s last completed novel, Persuasion, England is one large family with
two distinct branches, the navy and the aristocratic upper class it is no accident that
the two large books consulted in the novel are the Baronetage and the Naval Lists.
The naval family poses a threat to the aristocratic family; in fact, undertones of social
instability riddle the text, through imagery of death, illness, and accident. The
marriages of Anne Elliott, Louisa Musgrove, and Harriet Musgrove reveal a gentry
which can only redeem itself through intermarriage with the professional meritocratic
class, symbolically taking on their values of utility and social responsibility, and ...

This domestication of the navy as a group renders it an alternative family to the
aristocratic class; on the one hand, there is the meritocratic, sea faring navy, and on
the other, the indolent, land holding gentry.
The embodiment of this superficial class is the Elliott family. In using the Elliotts as
her prime example of the aristocracy, a family that purchased its nobility relatively
recently, Austenundercuts their claim to privilege. This family serves almost as a
metonym for the larger aristocratic family in general. Rather than showing the
aristocratic family tree as a pyramid of increasing status with increasing
responsibility, Austen portrays it as a social food chain of the flatterers and the
flattered. For example, when Mrs. Clay quits Bath at the end of the novel, Sir Walter
and Elizabeth are shocked and mortified...they had their great cousins, to be sure, to
resort to for comfort; but they must long feel that to flatter and follow others, without
being flattered and followed in turn, is but a state of half enjoyment (Persuasion
220). Unlike the landholders of other novels Mr. Darcy of Pride and Prejudice and
Mr. Knightley of Emma, for example Sir Walter does not fit with Burkean models of
beneficial aristocratic paternalism. His connection to the land is limited to Elizabeth
The Islamic State Of Syria And Iraq
Introduction
The Islamic State of Syria and Iraq (ISIS) is a radical terrorist organization which
has separated itself from other terrorist organizations through its scope of violence,
ability and pervasive rhetoric. Since its rise to prominence, the group has caused
both localized and international turmoil and loss of civilian life. Despite the ardent
failure of the United Nations and its member states to recognize the Islamic state as
a legitimate state, ISIS has managed to control and establish governance over large
swaths of both Syria and Iraq in their mission to create a global caliphate. Because of
this, combating the terrorism of ISIS could be considered a two pronged problem.
First, combating the terrorism of both the terrorist groups and its attacks on military
and civilians and the spread of its ideology. And secondly attacking an insurgent
government with the resources and founding of a state. The Islamic State s continual
growth and resilience in the face of global adversity shows the magnitude of the
power and versatility of the group. ISIS is an insurgent organization, once pushed to
the edges of society has managed to successfully transform itself into an organization
that controls territory, attracts recruits from around the world, and continues to make
gains against other rebel groups and national armies. The rise of the Islamic state can
be attributed to many social, and global circumstances such as the destability in the
regions of the middle east due
Advantages Of Cosmopolitanism
Assessment criteria
As for the core values of the proposed cosmopolitan model (and new shape of
global political order should, in our view, be cosmopolitan in nature), it is rooted in
equal moral dignity of all men. Cosmopolitanism has to pledge for global
democracy of individuals (but also of ethnic groups and states, at least in initial
phases of reform process), where all people should ideally be authorized to
participate in decision making that would later oblige them. Differences in power
(though necessary and recommended to a certain point) must be put aside when
deciding and ensuring decent capabilities of every human being to follow its chosen
life path. All states, individuals and groups are treated equally. Shared and widely
recognized human nature based on needs (not fixed, but ones that are to be imagined
and re defined always again) serves as a precondition for global deliberation and
insitution building, since the cosmopolitan authority may be maintained only if all
individuals and groups perceive themselves as relatively equal (in the sense their
dignity or worth is the same as those of others, and that they have enough material ...

Also, supossed interest of future generations (not even born), as well as past
generations (passed away) are taken into account, in order to avoid the presentism in
democracy. Along with the separate care for natural environmentand nature in itself,
this makes obvious what is protected is the Life. From the standpoint of global justice
and international ethics, it is useful to consider establishing just institutions as an
obligation, apart from the obligation to personally do no harm to others. So, given the
fact that people participate in the creation and maintenance of institutions that allow
drastic negative effects on human beings (millions of people are dying of hunger,
preventable diseases, the violence that can be stopped etc.), one must question their
responsibility, and think of duty to
The Libertarian Argument Analysis
In the United States institutionalized prohibition based cannabis policies defy widely
accepted societal values, delegitimizing the state s authority of law, neglecting its
responsibility to respect individual free will and ultimately, the right of self
determination. These unjustified policies take a heavy financial and social toll on
society, forcing law enforcement to spend time and money to arrest a majority of non
violent, low level offenders. In addition, marijuana policies and enforcement have
been seen as inherently biased and discriminatory. Not only that, but the medical
applications of cannabisare increasingly becoming recognized and accepted as a
standard in terms of treating diseases and relieving physical or mental ailments.
Furthermore, statistics have shown that legalization leads to a decreased use of
marijuana among teens and minors. Dollar wise, cannabis... Show more content on

Political activist and Libertarian representative J. Wilson comments on this saying
We believe that people own their own bodies and what they choose to put in them.
That also means people own the products of their labor (The Libertarian Argument
for Legalizing Marijuana 2015). Accordingly, this accounts for why the state should
have no say to arbitrarily decide what people can and can t consume. Prohibition
must be measured against the deprivation of personal freedom. Likewise, the United
States has an obligation to the people to respect the right of self determination and
individual free will. In this case, self ownership prevails over government regulation
in regards to prohibition based cannabis policies. Hence, reform is necessary so the
fundamental of self ownership isn t denied to individuals. The principles of human
freedom should be respected by the federal
My First Cheerleading Research Paper

morning. The hair, the makeup, the uniform, and the white cheer shoes. I never

War never changes, but people do. In Sweetheart of Song Tra Bong a young medic
decides to fly his high school sweetheart, Mary Anne, to Vietnam so they can spend
time together after he discovers the lack of discipline in camp. When Mary Anne

camp, then she starts assembling guns and visiting local towns. Mary Anne gets
hooked. She cuts her hair, stops wearing makeup and jewelry, and no longer wants to

now decided that fighting with the Green Berets is more important to her than
staying with the man she was engaged to marry. She returns once more, this time
with glowing jungle green eyes instead of blue, symbolizing her complete entrance

decided that the war is more important than getting married, starting a family, or even
going home. This decision was made time and time again by millions of young men
who had gone to Vietnam as a consequence of having their birth on the wrong day.

In this paper, I am going to elucidate on the significance of the concepts of
forgiveness and forgetfulness in Hannah Arendt and Friedrich Nietzsche s
conceptualization of human action and agency.
Remedial Action: Forgiveness and Promise
Hannah Arendt in her book, The Human Condition, delineates the three fundamental
human activities that set up the Vita Activa: Labour, Work and Action. Arendt
constitutes them to be fundamental because each of these corresponds to one of the
basic conditions under which life on earth has been given to man . (Arendt, 1958:7).

Descriptive Person Essay. Essay Describe A Funny Person : Descriptive writing describe a person

  • 1. Descriptive Person Essay Crafting a Descriptive Person Essay about oneself might seem like a straightforward task at first glance, as one would assume that writing about personal experiences and characteristics would come naturally. However, the challenge lies in striking the right balance between self-reflection and objective description. It requires a delicate interplay of introspection and the ability to articulate personal traits, experiences, and emotions in a coherent and engaging manner. The difficulty arises from the fine line between self-promotion and humble self-expression. On one hand, the writer needs to highlight positive attributes without coming across as boastful, while on the other hand, they must acknowledge personal flaws without undermining their overall character. Finding the right words to convey the essence of oneself can be a daunting task, as it involves a constant struggle to maintain authenticity without oversimplifying or overcomplicating one's own narrative. Additionally, the challenge extends to capturing the reader's attention and sustaining their interest throughout the essay. A Descriptive Person Essay demands vivid language and imagery to create a compelling portrayal, requiring the writer to delve into specific memories, anecdotes, and sensory details that make the narrative relatable and engaging. In conclusion, while writing a Descriptive Person Essay about oneself seems on the surface like an exercise in self-reflection, it entails a complex interweaving of honesty, humility, and effective storytelling. It involves navigating the thin line between self-promotion and self-awareness, all while ensuring the essay remains captivating for the reader. • 2. Idiopathic Arthritis Case Study uvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is a diverse group of autoimmune mediated, inflammatory joint disorders (Hashkes, 2005 Spiegel, 2015). JIA is defined as chronic arthritis without any known cause, lasting longer than 6 weeks and onset of symptoms before 16 years of age (ILAR 2001 Spiegel, 2015). JIA is the most common rheumatic disease in children and adolescents with 1 incidence per 1000 and at least 6000 Australians affected by the condition (Armon, 2014). The International League of Association divides JIA into seven categories of arthritis (ILAR 2001). These categories are based on clinical features recorded during the first 6 months of the disease (Weiss, 2005). Specific subgroups are oligoarticular (persistent or extended), poly articular... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hypothesized contributing factors are genetic predisposition, psychological stress, hormones, joint trauma or viral infection (Weiss, 2005, Armon, 2014 Lin, 2016). Recent literature shows that patients with JIA have an adaptive immune system, particularly T cells. Furthermore, JIA may be antigen driven and lymphocyte mediated causing an inappropriate generation of inflammation, lacking a normal anti inflammatory balance (Weiss, 2005). Prolonged inflammation stimulates premature closure of the growth plate that leads to localized bone growth disturbances, causing limb length discrepancy (Borros, 2010). Causes of generalized growth disturbances can be metabolic, endocrinology or malnutrition (Weiss, 2005). The patient may be at further risk of osteopenia and osteoporosis due to corticosteroids use and lack of exercise, which decreases peak bone mass in adolescence and increases fracture
  • 3. Comparing Utnapishtim And Noah s Ark Those living had built a structure that would carry them over days and nights. Some among many survive a great flood. Birds were sent to indicate if the flood had dissipated. These are some of the many moments that symbolize intrical points which maneuver the stories along. All of these items and ideas bear similarity with two well known myths, the story of Utnapishtim and Noahs Ark. In The Epic of Gilgamesh, the story of Utnapishtim and the flood that is reminiscent of the Biblical account of Noah and the flood, both utilize symbolism of the flood, the structure to survive the flood, and the birds to establish the theme that though beings are destructive, some will thrive and flourish. The flood is one of the many symbols that help the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He chose to do so once he knew that Noah was an acceptable being and through the rebirth of other humans he thought that they could achieve the same behavior that Noah and his family represented. So not all homosapiens are evil and deserve to live. The ark is another symbol that contributes to the theme that though humans are intolerable, there are people who are righteous. This is demonstrated in The Epic of Gilgamesh when the god Ea tells Utnapishtim to tear down his house and build a boat (108), and then proceeds to inform him of the measurements of the barque as he shall build her (108). The god Ea further details him to take up into the boat of all living creatures (108). Utnapishtim listens and loaded into her all that he had of gold and of living things , his family , his kin, the beast of the field both wild and tame, and all the craftsmen (109). The ark symbolizes safety and security. The ark itself would protect themselves and ensure that there would be no danger. These living beings are the only ones who survive. If the god Ea were to choose someone righteous to live, he would choose Utnapishtim and his family, otherwise, he wouldn t have told Utnapishtim about the upcoming flood. In the Bible, God tells Noah to make himself an ark of cypress wood and tells him of the content and measurements(New International Version, Genesis 6.14
  • 4. Spring Break Project Case Study Our first step in completing the Spring Break Project was choosing a car, and since the four of us will be traveling a long distance, we decided that a luxury car would be the best option. Once we decided, we found the cost for renting a luxury car for each of the companies and created functions to represent the total cost. Those functions are as follows: y = 0.18x + 308 for Hertz, y = 0.13x + 426 for Enterprise, y = 0.15x + 364 for Dollar, and y = 0.20x +326 for Avis. We created these formulas by using the cost per mile as the slope, or the number multiplied by x, and used the initial cost as the y intercept, which is the number added. When the formulas had been created, we went on to making our graphs and tables up to 3,000 miles. We used the tables to analyze our data, and found that Hertz offers the best initial offer up to 2,000 miles. After 2,000 miles, Dollar becomes the best option, and at 3,250 we found that Enterprise becomes the best offer. The three locations we chose were Myrtle Beach, New York City, and San Francisco. In order to find out how many miles a trip to each city would be, we doubled the distance from Greensboro (where we would pick up the car) to the city to represent the round trip, and added 20 miles to that total in case of detours or in city travelling. This meant that a trip to Myrtle Beach would 412 miles, New York City would be 1,098, and San Francisco would be 5,552 miles. To find the cost for each of these trips, we solved each function for the mileage of each city. Hertz had the best price for Myrtle Beach and New York City, at $382.16 and $505.64, respectively. However, Enterprise was the best choice for San Francisco, only costing

The National Center on Elder Abuse says there is a risk of 300% for death of elders who experience abuse compared to those who have not been abused (28). A school that opened with high hopes only a few years ago now finds itself mired in conflict and dissatisfaction. King s first meeting with his new administrative staff produces a blow up in which a male housemaster physically threatens the chair of the English department. Chapter 20: Replay and Critique of David King s Reframing _______________ There is value in having students compare their own thinking about the RFK High case with the reframing process depicted for David King in the chapter. One way to do this is to ask students to read the case, stop there, and engage in their own effort to reframe using the same questions David King used. (This can be done either individually or in groups.) Once students have developed their own diagnoses, they can read the remainder of the chapter and compare their thinking with David King s. Another option appears in Exercise 20.1. Chapter 20: Applying Reframing to Cases or Personal Experience_________ The chapter focuses on putting it all together: integrating everything learned about organizations and leadership into more comprehensive and powerful understanding and action. The reframing process illustrated in the chapter can be applied to almost any case or experience: students personal cases, published cases, films or fiction, or class experiences (role plays, experiential activities, team experiences, the course). Instructors can, for example, have students study a challenging case (multiple suggestions are offered elsewhere in this instructor s guide) and then, either individually or in teams, reframe to develop both diagnoses and solutions. Individuals or groups will differ in what they see and what
  • 10. Financial Article Review Financial Article Review The topic of Taylor s keynote speech is not an original one: he wants to know, share, and understand how the financial crisis in the first decade of the 21st century occurred. The method or approaching in tackling this issue is more original: he contends that some of the greatest factors influencing the onset of financial catastrophe is due to policies. At the heart of Taylor s argument is the presence of policies that created a sort of breeding ground for such a crisis to occur. The time period of his focus are the years 2000 2008. Taylor refers to a loose fitting monetary policy as one of the catalysts for the crisis. Throughout the speech, there are charts and graphs that reflect, analyze, or synthesize the text/speech, so as to avoid redundancy. He states that a loose fitting monetary policy contributed to the historic drops in interest rates from 2001 2004, improving by 2006, but never reaching the heights seen in 2000. He contends that the choice to lower the interests rates were in response to counteracting the problem of deflation, from which Japan suffered in the 1990s. After spending some time deliberating upon the local reasons why the crisis occurred, he expands his search for the reasons of the financial crisis on a global scale. Taylor explains the logic behind how the investment choices of companies, markets, governments, and industries influence and connect with the policy making that lead to the crisis. Though Taylor is

In a survey of 308 Amsterdam students done in 1904, he not only counted the men who identified as homosexual (2%) and bisexual (4%), but as well those who had gay sex during puberty (21%) or homosexual fantasies (6%). In the first Dutch gay novel that appeared this same year, the author Jacob IsraГ«l de Haan told how he as a student made fun answering the questions. He already made clear how unreliable such data often are. Hirschfeld also came with the first urban geography, Berlin s Third Gender (1904) in which he described the city s gay subculture of bars and parks and the elaborate world of male prostitution. Mainly German books on the history of sexual morality ( Sittengeschichte ) that often included chapters on homosexuality, preceded and influenced the work of later sociologists and historians, like Norbert Elias and Michel Foucault. The work of these psychiatrists who started to give names, definitions and identities to disease, crime and perversion, made possible the work of sociologists creating labeling theory. In many ways, this early research paved the way for what would become a sociology of (homo)sexuality (Schmeidler 1932). The enormous body of work, available mainly thanks to early, prewar German sexology, was largely forgotten when the main location of sex research after World War II moved

Cheng and co workers used anti EGFR Affibody proteinas tumortargeting ligand on 64Cu Au IO nanoparticles (PET component: 64Cu, MRI component: iron oxide, specific for EGFR) surface.[63] In their work, A431 tumor cells were subcutaneously implanted in the right shoulders of nude mice; and 64Cu NOTA Au IONP Affibody nanoparticles were administered via tail vain injection. Rather low resolution PET image showed that these nanoparticles were taken by EGFR positive A431 (human epithelial carcinoma cell line) cells reaching 4.6% ID/g at 24 h after injection, significantly higher than that obtained from the blocking experiment (1.9% ID/g) indicating the specificity of the probe. This difference in % ID/g values corroborated with 44% drop in MRI signal intensity that was observed for the tumor. In this study, the use of an Affibody protein as ligand for EGFR expressing tumor in small animals was demonstrated to be successful; however, the benefit of multimodality was not demonstrated. The unique chemistry of this dumbbell shaped Au IO nanoprobe could pave the way for targeted drug delivery into EGFR expressing tumors

Benefits Of Dense Energy Storage Advantages Dense energy storage The greatest advantage associated with methane clathrates is that, per amount of fuel, they have a much higher energy potential due to the dense storage of methane in the lattice structure. The concentration of methane within clathrates is 6500 times higher than in saturated aqueous solution (Ripmeester, J.A., Alavi, S., 2016), meaning less clathrates would have to be mined to receive the same energy provided by other fuels, reducing the negative environmental impacts and possibly the cost of processes such as mining and transport. Furthermore, with the ever growing population, more and more energy is required by humans each year and methane clathrates has the potential to provide this energy. Methane ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Similar to other natural gas, clathrates can also contain propane and butane but the combustion of these would not produce pollution either. Mining for coal can bring heavy metals to the surface that, when in aqueous form, can travel distances from the original mining site. As the extraction of methane clathrates would be largely from marine sites, heavy metals would be less of an issue due to the distance from human habitations. Easy infrastructural transitions There is a simple transition from coal and natural gas to the use of methane clathrates as the process of obtaining electrical energy from the chemical is via the same process and the offshore mining of oil and natural gas stations could be used to obtain clathrates (Collette). • 15. The Minimum Wage Debate The minimum wage debate brings about a range of reactions from different people. There are those who believe that there shouldn t even be a minimum wage and that wages should be determined by the markets. On the other hand, we have those who vigorously argue for increasing the wage minimum citing inflation, the poverty line and worker productivity. Regardless, we do have a federal minimum wage rate in the United States at $7.25 per hour, with some states having a higher minimum wage than the federal minimum. President Obama, in his first state of the union address of his second term proposed Tonight, let s declare that, in the wealthiest nation on Earth, no one who works full time should have to live in poverty, and raise the federal minimum wage to $9 an hour (The White House 2013). A year later, he has revised that number to $10.10 per hour after signing an executive order that has already raised the minimum wage for federal workers to that number. (The White House 2014). With more and more states raising their own minimum wage, a minimum wage increase seems almost imminent with Democrats and Republicans getting closer to a deal. (Bolton 2014). But we are more interested in the efficiency of a minimum wage implemented at the federal level. The main question that surrounds this debate is whether this price floor in labor markets is efficient given that the stated goal of the minimum wage is to make sure full time workers earn a living wage and are above the poverty line.

Liberalism is, in my words, the belief that government has little need to restrict certain behaviors or actions in the lives of its citizens, but instead that the time and money that would be spent on restricting these should go towards helping the economy or regulating the actions of companies. Some efforts that liberals have been working towards are protecting the environment, limiting the actions of banks, and creating more government programs to help people who need it, or at least increasing funding for said programs. Liberals tend to work towards equality for all, whether it be equality of genders, of race, or minimizing the gaps between socioeconomic classes. • 25. How To Write An Essay On L. A Candy How do you cope when in just a few short months you go from being regular everyday eighteen year old girls to being reality tv stars? L.A candy by Lauren Conrad is about two girls named Jane and Scarlett. They move from their small town in Santa Barbara to Los Angeles. One night well blowing off some steam at a club they meet a producer named Travis. Travis offers them a chance of a lifetime by offering to recruit them for his new reality show, but if they say yes will they still be the same people? In this journal I will be questioning, evaluating and visualizing. My first question is how Jane and Scarlett live together? Because Jane is so quiet and shy and Scarlett is outgoing, funny and convivial. Maybe because they balance eachother out. Like Jane s so quiet and Scarlet is so sociable. Therefore they just balance. Also why does Jane go out with Jesse when it s obvious she want Braedon? My first guess is because Jesse is a movie star and who doesn t want a movie star boyfriend. Or maybe because she mentioned to Gabby when Gabby asked if she met someone I met one guy, but I think he has a girlfriend (Conrad 121). It also could be that she want to show Braedon what s he s missing by dating Braedon s best friend. Last but not least at the end Jane goes with Gabby to Mexico what will happen when she comes... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I feel that way because Jane is so childish. Especially dating Jesse when she knows that Braedon is his best friend. I also really like Madison but really dislike Gabby. I like Madison because she s gets along with everyone and is very friendly. All Gabby does is harass Madison and try to sabotage Scarlett and Jane. I liked how the show was about the girls everyday normal lives. I hated how Travis made they do stuff they didn t want to. For example when Scarlett showed Gabby and Madison around U.S.C and Travis said Can your be nice to M an G (Conrad 280). I felt that Scarlett is an adult she can do what she

He states that he is the only responsible person who has increased the anger in his heart. He has watered the hatred with his fears and spent hours by crying. A tree needs water and sun in order to bear fruit, and so does his anger. Moreover; It seems ironic because; growing tree is a good, positive thing and a symbol of life but here, growing tree is compared to a growing anger. Because of the poet s efforts, his tree (anger) eventually bears fruit: a bright apple , the hatred gave birth to an apple. The poet says that there is now evil born of hatred in his heart. The fruit has now struck. And the enemy realizes that it belongs to the poet. The final quatrain brings the hatred to an end. After the enemy has seen the apple, he pinches the apple from the poet s garden when it s midnight. In the morning, the poet wakes up and goes to the garden, he sees the enemy while he has lain under the tree since he ate the apple. It is not known that he died or fell asleep but this relaxes his mind and calms his hatred

In Lullaby , the reader follows Ayah, an old woman, as she remembers many of the hardships in her life, including the death of her oldest child, the government taking her children, and the loss of emotional connection to her husband and his eventual decline into dementia. Key Elements For Tissue And Organ Regeneration Introduction Tissue engineering is an interdisciplinary approach that basically replaces, restore the function and regenerate the damaged cell or tissue using biological substitutes. This solid matrix has a complex mixture of structural and functional proteins that serve as a reliable source of nutrient for the cells. The various roles and complicated composition of ECM become a great challenge for the scaffolds to mimic the native ECM in repairing the diseased or damaged tissue. Thus, it is important to develop the ideal scaffolds with optimal properties and architecture since its mechanical characteristics will greatly affect the activity of cell adhesion, proliferation and differentiation. Apparently, the biomaterial used in fabrication of scaffolds may influence its significant features, such as biodegradability, bioactivity and porosity. The bioactivity, including cell adhesion, cell alignment and interaction between scaffolds and cellular components could be enhanced by adding the biological cues onto the biomaterials. Besides that, it is also important for

Conflicting Artistic Styles In The Enlightenment Conflicting Artistic Styles in the Enlightenment The Enlightenment era spanned from the latter half of the 1600s to the end of the 1700s and was a time of monumental shifts in political ideology and social structure. Although some forms of art, especially music, did not become emotional vehicles of individual experience until the Romantic period, the art of the Enlightenment certainly reflected the changing social climate of the era and the political views of the artists. A prime example of the portrayal of social life in the arts during the Enlightenment is in the conflict between the Rococo and Neo Classical movements. Not only is Rococo art and architecture aesthetically pleasing, but during the eighteenth century this type of artwork helped the nobility momentarily forget about the brooding societal climes in which they lived. I have 3 tests, math homework, italian homework, literacy homework, and science homework!! The student talks to himself. Hey, stop staring off in space and listen to the lesson! The teacher exclaimed in a nasty tone. The bell rings and the kid finally gets home. Go do your homework! The kids mom stated. The student runs to his room and locks the door so he doesn t get distracted. An hour passes by and he has done nothing. His mom unlocks his door and checks up on what he has done. She figures out he s asleep and has done nothing. She deviously takes his phone and he doesn t know. Two hours later he wakes up and his mom gets enraged and flips out on him. Or if you re one of those people who still use that stuff called paper then maybe on that. Well whatever you are reading this on prepare to empty you re wallet s because this new technology will surly brighten your day! LED s or Light Emitting Diodes have been around since the 60 s and I think they are starting to decline. The new technology slowly replacing LED s are OLED s or Organic Light Emitting Diodes. Now these are special because they contain small quantities of organic material such as carbon. OLED s feature many vase improvements over its older friend LED s, these include: flexibility, durability, transparency and the list goes on! Although this all comes with an unfortunately large price tag. While OLED s are a great technology nowadays they have not always been so advanced. The first working OLED was created in 1987 by Ching W. Tang and Steven Van Slyke at Eastman Kodak. Although this was the first technically working OLED, electroluminescence the principle OLED s use was first reported in 1953 by A. Bernanose, M. Comte, and P. Vonaux, using a high voltage electrical field. Electroluminescence is when a material emits light in response to the passage of an electric current or to a strong electric field being applied through the substance (J. Chim p.50, 64.). In the early days of production OLED s were very
  • 45. Character Analysis Of Angie In The Gift Of Cochise The traditional western hero has so closely synonymized itself with the image of the rugged, horse riding, cowboy hat wearing, gun shooting white man, that a fearful wife and mother appears entirely antithetical to the very notion of the frontier hero. Yet, Louie L amour adeptly crafts his western hero out of the very same aforementioned traits through his character Angie in The Gift of Cochise. Angie s logical, pragmatic, and calculated actions, because of her role as a wife and mother, allow her to successfully advance westward and settle in Apache territory as the rightful western hero of the story. While various male characters attempt dutifully to satisfy Turner s hypothesis of advancement westward, their reckless approach to the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His descriptions as tough and brawling emphasize the resilience associated with the traditional western hero. However, his lack of defined purpose in continuing his pursuit westward causes him to fall short of truly encapsulating the western hero. Angie Lowe, in contrast, diverges from her father s credulous justification for moving west, by choosing to move for the particular reason of helping her husband, settling when she sees a territory satisfactory for her family. Her fulfillment of Turner s hypothesis centers around her duty as a wife to help Ed leave Santa Fe for a more suitable home rather than the intangible and nebulous allure of the glorified west. L amour deliberately mentions that Angie, not Ed, chooses the property on West Dog Canyon, implying that the move into the frontier is solely because Santa Fe [is] not good for Ed (L amour 58). More importantly, unlike her father, who continues moving even after finding a wife and having a kid, Angie stops once she finds the house with grass, water, and shelter from the wind, [that] Angie with an Irish eye for the land saw would grow crops (L amour 58). As evidenced by Angie s choice to move west, not because of glory or adventure, but for the practical advancement of her family, Angie more successfully fills the role of the western hero. While her feminine take on the Turner hypothesis, through the
  • 46. Essay about Concepts of Family and Home in Jane Austen s... Concepts of Family and Home in Jane Austen s Persuasion In Jane Austen s last completed novel, Persuasion, England is one large family with two distinct branches, the navy and the aristocratic upper class it is no accident that the two large books consulted in the novel are the Baronetage and the Naval Lists. The naval family poses a threat to the aristocratic family; in fact, undertones of social instability riddle the text, through imagery of death, illness, and accident. The marriages of Anne Elliott, Louisa Musgrove, and Harriet Musgrove reveal a gentry which can only redeem itself through intermarriage with the professional meritocratic class, symbolically taking on their values of utility and social responsibility, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This domestication of the navy as a group renders it an alternative family to the aristocratic class; on the one hand, there is the meritocratic, sea faring navy, and on the other, the indolent, land holding gentry. The embodiment of this superficial class is the Elliott family. In using the Elliotts as her prime example of the aristocracy, a family that purchased its nobility relatively recently, Austenundercuts their claim to privilege. This family serves almost as a metonym for the larger aristocratic family in general. Rather than showing the aristocratic family tree as a pyramid of increasing status with increasing responsibility, Austen portrays it as a social food chain of the flatterers and the flattered. For example, when Mrs. Clay quits Bath at the end of the novel, Sir Walter and Elizabeth are shocked and mortified...they had their great cousins, to be sure, to resort to for comfort; but they must long feel that to flatter and follow others, without being flattered and followed in turn, is but a state of half enjoyment (Persuasion 220). Unlike the landholders of other novels Mr. Darcy of Pride and Prejudice and Mr. Knightley of Emma, for example Sir Walter does not fit with Burkean models of beneficial aristocratic paternalism. His connection to the land is limited to Elizabeth
  • 47. The Islamic State Of Syria And Iraq Introduction The Islamic State of Syria and Iraq (ISIS) is a radical terrorist organization which has separated itself from other terrorist organizations through its scope of violence, ability and pervasive rhetoric. Since its rise to prominence, the group has caused both localized and international turmoil and loss of civilian life. Despite the ardent failure of the United Nations and its member states to recognize the Islamic state as a legitimate state, ISIS has managed to control and establish governance over large swaths of both Syria and Iraq in their mission to create a global caliphate. Because of this, combating the terrorism of ISIS could be considered a two pronged problem. First, combating the terrorism of both the terrorist groups and its attacks on military and civilians and the spread of its ideology. And secondly attacking an insurgent government with the resources and founding of a state. The Islamic State s continual growth and resilience in the face of global adversity shows the magnitude of the power and versatility of the group. ISIS is an insurgent organization, once pushed to the edges of society has managed to successfully transform itself into an organization that controls territory, attracts recruits from around the world, and continues to make gains against other rebel groups and national armies. The rise of the Islamic state can be attributed to many social, and global circumstances such as the destability in the regions of the middle east due

Advantages Of Cosmopolitanism Assessment criteria As for the core values of the proposed cosmopolitan model (and new shape of global political order should, in our view, be cosmopolitan in nature), it is rooted in equal moral dignity of all men. Cosmopolitanism has to pledge for global democracy of individuals (but also of ethnic groups and states, at least in initial phases of reform process), where all people should ideally be authorized to participate in decision making that would later oblige them. Differences in power (though necessary and recommended to a certain point) must be put aside when deciding and ensuring decent capabilities of every human being to follow its chosen life path. All states, individuals and groups are treated equally. Shared and widely recognized human nature based on needs (not fixed, but ones that are to be imagined and re defined always again) serves as a precondition for global deliberation and insitution building, since the cosmopolitan authority may be maintained only if all individuals and groups perceive themselves as relatively equal (in the sense their dignity or worth is the same as those of others, and that they have enough material ... Also, supossed interest of future generations (not even born), as well as past generations (passed away) are taken into account, in order to avoid the presentism in democracy. Along with the separate care for natural environmentand nature in itself, this makes obvious what is protected is the Life. From the standpoint of global justice and international ethics, it is useful to consider establishing just institutions as an obligation, apart from the obligation to personally do no harm to others. So, given the fact that people participate in the creation and maintenance of institutions that allow drastic negative effects on human beings (millions of people are dying of hunger, preventable diseases, the violence that can be stopped etc.), one must question their responsibility, and think of duty to
  • 49. The Libertarian Argument Analysis In the United States institutionalized prohibition based cannabis policies defy widely accepted societal values, delegitimizing the state s authority of law, neglecting its responsibility to respect individual free will and ultimately, the right of self determination. These unjustified policies take a heavy financial and social toll on society, forcing law enforcement to spend time and money to arrest a majority of non violent, low level offenders. In addition, marijuana policies and enforcement have been seen as inherently biased and discriminatory. Not only that, but the medical applications of cannabisare increasingly becoming recognized and accepted as a standard in terms of treating diseases and relieving physical or mental ailments. Furthermore, statistics have shown that legalization leads to a decreased use of marijuana among teens and minors. Dollar wise, cannabis... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That also means people own the products of their labor (The Libertarian Argument for Legalizing Marijuana 2015). Accordingly, this accounts for why the state should have no say to arbitrarily decide what people can and can t consume. Prohibition must be measured against the deprivation of personal freedom. Likewise, the United States has an obligation to the people to respect the right of self determination and individual free will. In this case, self ownership prevails over government regulation in regards to prohibition based cannabis policies. Hence, reform is necessary so the fundamental of self ownership isn t denied to individuals. The principles of human freedom should be respected by the federal

I thought about this all morning as I was getting ready. Everything had to be perfect in order for me to walk out the door ready to show the world my cheerleading routine. It was an absolute crazy morning. The hair, the makeup, the uniform, and the white cheer shoes. I never realized till then how much work it actually was just to get, the look of a cheerleader. My mom found my team sign since I was way to little to see above everyone s head. We were all the way in the back. Right as I walked to say hi to my team and start to stretch, I knew the craziness was already beginning. My coach, Tina Joy, led my team and I into a special room where we began to practice our routine. We had exactly 15 minutes to warm up out tumbling skills, stunts, jumps, pyramid, and dance. When we got the call that the 15 minutes were up, I began to get even more nervous than I was before. You can do this, you can do this, you ll be fine I thought over and over again to calm myself down. We waited for almost over an hour till we got to perform. My team and I stood in our opening positions right by the mat so we were ready to run on after the team ahead of us

In two weeks she has gone from someone with complexion as sweet as a strawberry and skin that was even untouched by the sun to a soldier that lays in the dirt holding a weapon to end someone s life, ignoring her innocence and covering it up with a black charcoal alter ego. After he yells at her, she leaves with the Green Berets for three weeks (94). This decision to leave is the final leap towards a new Mary Anne, as she has now decided that fighting with the Green Berets is more important to her than staying with the man she was engaged to marry. She returns once more, this time with glowing jungle green eyes instead of blue, symbolizing her complete entrance into war (101). She is now one with the green mountains of Vietnam. She has now decided that the war is more important than getting married, starting a family, or even going home. This decision was made time and time again by millions of young men who had gone to Vietnam as a consequence of having their birth on the wrong day. Remedial Action: Forgiveness and Promise Hannah Arendt in her book, The Human Condition, delineates the three fundamental human activities that set up the Vita Activa: Labour, Work and Action. Arendt constitutes them to be fundamental because each of these corresponds to one of the basic conditions under which life on earth has been given to man . (Arendt, 1958:7).
