Essay Mania
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Essay Mania" can prove to be a challenging endeavor, as the
very essence of the topic suggests a heightened state of enthusiasm and fervor for the act of
essay writing itself. The irony lies in the fact that attempting to encapsulate the essence of this
mania within the confines of a structured essay can be a perplexing task.
The inherent complexity arises from the abstract nature of the concept. "Essay Mania" implies an
intense passion and perhaps a frenzied devotion to the art of essay composition. Yet, translating
this fervor into coherent paragraphs and well-organized arguments becomes a delicate balancing
act. How does one eloquently convey the exuberance that accompanies the process of essay
writing without succumbing to the pitfalls of hyperbole or monotony?
Furthermore, the challenge lies in avoiding clichГ©s and platitudes. A clichГ©d exploration of
"Essay Mania" risks turning the essay into a mere exercise in stating the obvious, undermining
the very essence of the topic. Balancing originality with a clear and compelling narrative
becomes crucial in navigating this intellectual landscape.
Moreover, the irony persists as the writer grapples with the pressure of producing a piece that not
only encapsulates the essence of "Essay Mania" but also does justice to the theme through
impeccable writing. The very act of attempting to articulate the frenzy of essay composition may,
in itself, evoke a sense of mania within the writer.
In conclusion, while exploring the theme of "Essay Mania," the writer faces a multi-faceted
challenge that extends beyond the conventional complexities of essay writing. It demands a
delicate dance between passion and precision, creativity and coherence. Nevertheless, in
embracing this challenge, one might find a unique opportunity to channel the spirit of essay
mania into a literary creation that captivates and inspires.
For those seeking assistance in navigating the labyrinth of essay writing or exploring similar
topics, a valuable resource is HelpWriting.net. This platform offers the opportunity to order
essays, delve into diverse subjects, and unlock a plethora of insights that extend far beyond the
realm of "Essay Mania."

Preventing the export of conflict diamonds in the Democratic Republic of the Congo
The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has large reserves of cobalt, gold, gems,
copper, timber, and uranium. However, the most valuable resource that the DRC
possess is its large reserve of diamonds. Diamonds essentially serve as a pillar to the
DRC s struggling economy. Plagued by civil unrest, the DRC is desperately trying to
stabilize its economy. Their efforts have been met with stiff resistance due to the
ongoing civil war and illegal diamond trade. Not only is the DRC losing potential
revenue from the illegal mining of diamonds, but also these diamonds are being used
to finance the rebel armies. In response, the U.N. has drafted several ... Show more

The exploitations of the land began when King Leopold declared all unoccupied land
owned by the state. This move gave him exclusive rights to the lucrative trade in
rubber and ivory. Soon afterwards, private companies were formed to exploit the
natural mineral wealth of the Congo. Along with the exploitation of the land, the
people were forced into slave labor. Natives were brutally forced to collect rubber
and mine for minerals. Under the agreement with King Leopold, Belgium annexed
the Congo in 1908. Under Belgian rule forced labor was gradually phased out.
However, the Congo was still perceived by the Belgian government as merely an
economic investment. Very few if any initiatives were established in order to promote
the economic development of sectors important to the welfare of the native people.
The economic developments that were initiated were directly related to the
exploitation of the land. Railroads and other forms of transportation were developed
in order to increase the profits of the Belgian government. Plantations and large
mining operations were formed with native people occupying the labor pool.
Along with exploiting the Congo s natural resources, the Belgian government also
established Christian missionaries in order to civilize the natives. As a result, many
Congolese citizens were educated at the secondary level or higher. These same people
would eventually protest
The Executive Compass and Its Relation to the Good Society
The executive compass and its relation to the good society The search for a good
society was of intense interest in the past and continues to be of interest to many
researchers even now . Many philosophers in their own minds have coined a series
of utopian views for which has been much debated in the pursuit of a good society.
The major ideologies propounded by such philosophers include Liberalism,
Conservatism, Socialism, Anarchism, Nationalism, Fascism, Feminism,
Ecologism, Religious Fundamentalism and Multiculturalism. All of these
ideologies have argued in one way or the other in support of or against either of the
elements contained in James Otoole s executive compass which includes equality,
efficiency, community and liberty. In view of this, the first part of the paper seeks
to highlight the many different views of the good society propounded by many
political ideologies in relation to the executive compass. The second part answers
why the invisible hand does not seem to be working and how the tensions between
liberty and efficiency can be resolved under the invisible. Finally, the paper will
analyze what I would do to contribute to the creation of a good society. Liberty
Liberty is derived from the Latin word liber which means a class of free men; in
other words men who are neither serfs nor slaves and is greatly linked to the ideas of
freedom and choice (Heywood, 2012). The whole idea of liberalism is driven by the
pursuit of individualism in which people are
The Clothes In Hindu Religion
The attire worn by the Hindu religion have very important meanings that reflect
many aspects of Hindu life. Traditions of clothing and accessories worn depend on
gender and age. The women traditionally wear saris that cover most of their body
and a bindi dot. A sari is a large piece of beautiful cloth that is wrapped to form a
dress and a bindi dot is a red dot placed in between the eyebrows that represents unity
and the sacred symbol of the cosmos. Men usually wear loose tunics and pants. These
clothes are mostly worn because of the hot and humid climate standard to India and
other regions where Hinduismis largely practiced. Colors and their meanings are also
very important in regards to Hinduism s attire. Red is usually worn by a bride to
Shy Species Preferred Seahorse Habitats
Terms of Reference Background Seahorses are an iconic, shy species that have
become adapted to live in a variety of habitats. They have the ability to camouflage
and a prehensile tail that can only be forcibly unlocked in the most extremes of
weather. They have the ability to grow and reabsorb spiny appendages on their
body, depending on the habitat they live in. The seahorse male is the only male
animal in the world to have a true, full pregnancy. There are two species of
Seahorse in the British Isles, the spiny seahorse (Hippocampus guttulatus) and the
short snouted seahorse (Hippocampus hippocampus); both widely distributed and
both specialising in differing habitats due to subtle differences in the shape of the
snout and body and their dietary needs, although they can also be occasionally
found in the same habitat together (Garrick Maidment 2004). Seahorses are
typically found in pairs, once they have migrated back into shallow waters from
their deeper, winter refuge. They are normally observed in shallower water of 2
meter (m) as the sea temperature warms up to 9 ВєC or more (Garrick Maidment,
2013), they then form... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To present the data and undertake statistical analysis to determine and produce
maps of preferred seahorse habitat . For example, percentage of sightings per
habitats in the case of non quantitative data, mainly for this seahorses sighting
database (presence and absence). Since the analysis of presence only data is a
problem in determining the species distribution and accurately determining
population sizes, more exploratory analysis and investigation of selected sites will
be undertaken to see why some of the preferred habitats have no records of sightings
(lack of survey, under reporting or poor environmental condition, for example).
Hence, logistic regression for presence and absence is one option while Generalised
linear model (GLM) prediction using regression analysis is another alternative for

Entire Sanctification Definition
Man was created in the image of God, imago Dei. Man was created for love and to
love God. Man knew truth and happiness. God did/does not want to force us into
relationship and so He gave us free will. Adam and Eve exercised this free will in
the garden and they fell from grace; the fall. Adam rejected the moral law that has
three uses (to show sin in the world; to bring man to Christ; to keep man alive).
The moral law is right and good concerning all things. The moral law shows us that
we must keep close to Christ and we will keep close to the law. It is in Christ that
we find freedom from the law. Wesley instructs that believers must keep the moral
law to grow deeper in God s grace. Adam also rejected the presence of God. In this

We are babies, born again, and as we mature in faith we move closer to the likeness
of Christ. Assurance to Wesley was the belief that man could know they were
saved. Wesley did not use the word conversion a lot. It is when a person goes from
being a child of the world to a child of God. This occurs due to a person s response
to prevenient grace. Once a person realizes they are in need of God and have sin in
their lives they are led to repentance. At this moment the person is justified. This is
evident when regeneration occurs and the person is born again. All of this is a gift
from God. This all begins the process of sanctification. A person then is aware of sin
in their lives and the battle it brings and wants to continue to be in the peace of God
that comes at justification. Repentance and the works suitable for repentance fills the
person s life. It is the acts that causes the person to know they need Christ. Being in a
regenerated state, a complete renewal of the inside, the person moves into being an

Family Stories How many times have you heard someone s survival, wedding or
birthing story? (Please keep in mind, unless you are asked to explain a birthing
story please do not freely discuss them. Too many people want to discuss intimate
information with others.) Notably, families all have family stories typically
survival, wedding or birthing stories that accumulate over time (Shelley). I have
acquired an assortment of family stories from my family of origin as well as my
family of procreation, but I do not go around telling just anyone. However, as per
this assignment I will discuss a personal family story. One of my earlier procreated
family stories is from the summer of 2008. Jack and I had been together for three
years and had a one year old son. We were renting a house in Spring Branch, about
five miles from my mom s house. He was working in Beaumont and had an
apartment that the company paid for and at the time, he did not have a roommate co

We all agree to try to make it home and head back towards Houston. His apartment
was off of Major near Hwy 105 Conroe. We took this all the way to Conroe with
very little traffic. I do not remember exactly how long it took us to get back but, I
know it was nothing near the amount it would have taken us if we would have tried
to take I 10. Thankfully, we made it home safely. However, we went without
electricity for an entire month after the hurricane was over and done. The
significance as to why I chose this particular family story is because it is one of my
favorite adventures. Furthermore, my best friend who was with us, Vince, past
away four years ago and this is one our many escapades together. My family story
probe has reflected one of my many experiences of survival. Communication skills are
expressed throughout my family involvements during hurricane Ike, summer of 2008.

The Self Esteem Of Children During The Primary Grades
Of...
The objective my project was to positively influence the self esteem of children in
the primary grades of two areas of Panama City. As a future early childhood teacher,
I have learned it is important to find classroom activities that build the self images of
students, while creating a respect for individual differences and future goals
(Lawrence, 2006, p. 101). High self esteemcorrelates positivity with the academic
achievements of students (Kaniuka, 2010, p. 184). Community partners indicated the
need to help children build positive self images while promoting the academic goals
of primary gradestudents. Our community partners have indicated that they believe
such an initiative will serve to lower the drop out rates in schools within
impoverished areas of Panama City. In addition, the Biblioteca of Mananitas, and
Centro Educativo Marie Poussepin ( CEMP ) of Curundu has supported initiatives
to increase home reading as a means to increase academic success. Lastly,
community partners have expressed a desire to introduction children to English
words at an early age to increase future employability across various economic
sectors in Panama. In furtherance of all of these objectives, I developed a lesson
plan that encouraged children to create an All About Me bookin both English and
Spanish for the early primary grades of students in Mananitas and Curundu.

A Graveyard in Asheville
For this journal review, I have decided to do a graveyard in Asheville which is very
well known. The cemetery Riverside Cemetery has existed since 1885 and was built
by the Asheville Cemetery Company and in 1952 was sold to the City of Asheville.
For this review I ll be focusing on the various styles of graves seen throughout the
cemetery, while also emphasizing the meaning of the different artistic symbols seen.
I ll also make sure to note the significant graves and mausoleums that are home to
some of the most descriptive artwork. The graveyard is home to more than 14,000
graves some of which carry important meanings or information. I believe graveyards
are sacred art museums and while walking through one provides a much different
experience, some similarities are important for us to see.
The City of Asheville s Riverside Cemetery is located in Montford, less than 2
miles from downtown. It provides over 87 acres of grounds and is a protected tree
area. Today the area operates under the City of Asheville Parks, Recreation and
Cultural Arts Department. Looking through the various headstones, I can see many
similarities among the different symbols. Looking past just the symbols we can see
a level of intricate artwork laid down by the art of hand carving and engraving. Hand
carving and engraving headstones is an ancient practice in which artists and
craftsmen have formed extraordinary memorials from pieces of raw stone.

Coming Of Age Story Soldier s Home
Soldier s Home Is a Coming of Age Story
Ernest Hemingway s Soldier s Home is a story of a soldier who returns from World
War I as a completely different person. The story portrays his inability to adjust to
his society and his home. He is with his family, but he feels that he doesn t belong
there. Like various authors, Hemingway decides somehow to write a story about his
life after the war through the character Harold Krebs. As much as Harold Krebs
believes in truth, the society and the people around him force him to lie. People in
the town don t want to hear about the battles, preferring instead lies about the
heroics of the war. The war has dramatically changed him; he chooses isolation by
detaching himself from love, social relationship, religion, and goal. Thus, soldier s
home is a coming of age story.
Harold Krebs comes back from the war unable to love and decided to avoid the ...

He lost any romantic feeling during the war. Off course, the scenes that he has
encountered in the World War I, the blood, the death bodies; all the things he has
done in the war traumatized him so that he loses his emotion. Another reason that
keeps him away from building any relationship with a girl is his desire to avoid
any consequences. He remembers the French and the German women because
relationships with them were uncomplicated and without any consequences.
However, he mentions that He would have liked a girl if she come to him and not
wanted to talk (Hemingway). He doesn t want to talk to her and doesn t want to
attract her attention. Moreover, Krebs remains all the time sitting on the front
porch feeling good enough to look at the girls on the street. So, by that way, he keeps
his minds peaceful. Besides, he refuses the offers that his mom proposed to him to
take his dad s car and to take a girl for a ride because he is still disbelieved that his
dad would allow him to use the car
Prevalence And Types Of Cancer Among Urban Rural

Objective: To determine the prevalence and types of cancer among urban rural
populations and their relation to socioeconomic status.
Methodology: A cross sectional study carried out in three hospitals in Punjab named
Mayo Hospital, Lahore, Nishtar hospital and civil hospital in Multan, Pakistan. All
the new cases of cancers (all known types of cancer) were recorded during the months
of August 2013 through February 2014. Details of age, sex, socioeconomic status,
address whether rural or urban, stage, type of cancer and hemoglobin levels at the
time of presentation were recorded after taking the verbal consent from the patients
and the attendees. For data analysis, Statistical Package of Social Sciences (SPSS v.

and 14 (35%) were rich, 21 (52.5%) were rural patients and 19 (47.5%) urban.
Squamous cell carcinoma with 29 cases (9.5%): 23 (79.3%) were poor and 6 (20.7%)
were rich, 22 (75.86%) were rural patients and 7 (24.16%) urban. Carcinoma of
cervix with 22 cases (7.2%); 16 (72.72%) were poor and 6 (27.3%) were rich, 13
(59.1%) patients were from rural areas 9 (40.9%) were from urban areas. Several
other rare carcinomas resembling Wilms tumor, with as few cases as 1 case in the
time period of 6 months are also discussed.
Conclusion: The study shows that in general, cancer is extra prevalent in poor
socioeconomic status, population and those patients that live in rural areas. Further
study should be carried out to observe the effects of other variables reminiscent of
screening, knowledge to pursue medical attention, the time to search for medical
attention, implementation of preventive methods, environmental factors should be
taken into account and the geographical area should be increased so that the study
can be carried on a larger scale.

Essay On The Failure Of Enron s Accounting System
Failure of Enron s Accounting System
The first failure of Enron is that it lacked a solid accounting information system.
Instead, the firm adopted a concept called mark to market. This is where all
accounting records of a company s assets were based on the prevailing market price.
The failure of this system is that it allows the accountants to record the value of the
assets and liabilities at any value. This orchestrates mass cover ups and conspiracy as
revenues will be based on speculation and derivatives. In the end the financial
statements produced are highly in accurate and do not show the true position of a
corporation. For instance, through this accounting system Enron was able to show
that its revenues were growing while in fact the revenues were non existent in the
first place. A good case in point is the offshore partnerships opened by the CFO
Andrew Fastow, and Enron official. The strategic offshore partnerships were used by
Enron to project revenues that were reported in the company s financial statements
(Seabury, n.d). Other deals such as the blockbuster live streaming movie using
bandwidth technology was used to inflate the revenues of the company by recording
projected revenues from such deals. In return, financial analysts gave the company s
stock a higher rating based on projected revenues and derivatives. This explains why
Enron was the golden goose for Wall Street prior to its collapse. From the above
analysis it is apparent that the accounting information

your examination of a subsidiary that has been set up as a corporation.
The methodology used to determine deferred taxes.
The deferred taxes reported are a temporary difference. The deferred taxes were
calculated based on what needed to be reported versus what has been posted to the
corporations books. The temporary difference is the difference between the tax basis
of an asset or liability and its reported (carrying or book) amount in the financial
statements, which will result in taxable amounts or deductible amounts in future
years (Kieso, el. 2007, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The corporation and stockholders have the tax burden in a corporation. In whole,
from the owners point of view, it is more sensible to form a corporation that has a
little more flexibility and less liability versus a partnership or sole proprietorship.

how do these perceptions impact visitation practices? What are the perceived
advantages and disadvantages of open visitation for patients and families? What

Importance and Need of ETL
ETL Process
Extraction, Transformation, and Loading processes are responsible for the operations
taking place in the back stage of a data warehouse architecture. In a broader aspect,
initially the data is extracted from the source data stores which could be On Line
Transaction Processing or Legacy system, files of any formats, web pages or any
other documents like spreadsheets or text documents. In this step, only the data
which is different from the previous execution of ETL process (newly inserted,
updated) gets extracted from the sources. Next, the extracted data is sent to Data
Staging Area where the data is transformed and cleaned. Finally, the data is loaded to
the central data warehouse and all its counterparts e.g., data marts and views. (Kabiri
Chiadmi 2013, p.1)
Need of ETL Process
ETL is a critical component in DW environment. Indeed, it is widely recognized
that building ETL processes, during DW project, are expensive regarding time and
money. ETL consume up to 70% of resources. Interestingly reports and analyses a
set of studies proving this fact. In other side, it is well known too, that the accuracy
and the correctness of data, which are parts of ETL responsibility, are key factors of
the success or failure of DW projects. (Kabiri Chiadmi 2013, p.1)

He has fear around losing that stability. There is a part of him that is cycling back
to earlier stages, but the logistics of his life are a huge consideration for him.
Several aspects of the interviewee s career are in congruence. Congruence is a part of
Holland s (2014) theory that defines if an individual is in an environment that fits
their type. The interviewee does work in a creative environment, he does get to
observe and investigate, and the use of technology plays a role. Also, his work
does require some tedious tasks, which is one thing that was named as a strength.
Also, I could theorize that this interviewee is at a level 3 in Holland s theory. I
believe this to be true since he struggles with seeing himself making a job change.
However, certain aspects of the theorized MBTI preference would not necessarily
be in congruence. The fact that he does not feel like there is room for growth is
one reason why his MBTI score might not fit well with what he is currently doing.
Krumboltz (2014) theory could be useful for this client. This theory normalizes
anxiety and emphasizes the importance of meeting the client where they are. Given
the want for change, but anxiety around changing careers this could be beneficial for
the interviewee. It appears to be a more holistic approach that I believe would work
well for this individual. This particular person is currently struggling with decision
making and Krumboltz does not view

Clostridium Difficile Is A Gram Positive, Anaerobic, Spore...
Introduction Clostridium difficile is a gram positive, anaerobic, spore forming
bacillus. In 1935 it was first described as member of the intestinal flora in healthy
neonates [1] , and then in 1978 it was recognised as a cause of diarrhoea [2]. Today
it is widely acknowledged as the leading cause of hospital acquired diarrhoea. This
organism can cause a variety of diseases, from mild diarrhoea to severe
pseudomembranous colitis, and collectively these are known as C. difficile
infections (CDIs) [3]. It is known that the symptoms seen in patients infected with
C. difficile are due to the toxins (toxin A and toxin B) that are produced by the
organism [4]. Some strains of C. difficile seem to have an increased virulence
which can be associated with increased severity, recurrence and increased
mortality. This increased virulence is thought to be a result of increased expression
of toxins A, B [5]. There is also another toxin produced by C. difficile known as
binary toxin, this is also thought to contribute towards increased virulence [6]. A
particular strain of C. difficile that does seem to have increased virulence is the
strain known as PCR ribotype O27 or North American pulsed (NAP) field type 01.
In Europe PCR ribotype O27 is the sixth most common ribotype [7], and new
ribotypes are being detected that appear to have evolved from the O27 lineage [8],
making the need for a method to demonstrate strain relatedness highly important. In a
hospital setting knowing the

by the offended to drive a wedge between the two. The religious freedoms our
founders acknowledged as rights have allowed a rich mixture of diverse religions to
be practiced independently of each other. However, these same freedoms have been
misconstrued by an irreligious minority who use them as weapons to enforce their
opinions, and chip away at the basic rights of the majority. Historically, religionand
government have been tightly intertwined. Kings would often take on the role of
Priests in addition to their stately duties, and governments would execute any citizen
they deemed disrespectful to their chosen god. These rulings were typically made by
the ruler, which led many to question the wisdom of state sponsored religion. As
time passed, the first protests of this intermingling would be heard, and a time known
as the age of enlightenment would soon emerge. As more and more countries
adapted to the idea of drawing a line between the church and State, the diverse
interpretations of the concept would vary. In Sweden, for example, religious classes
are mandatory in public schools. The United Kingdom has a... Show more content on

Pandra Compare And Contrast
Once upon a time there was a creature called the Pandra. The Pandra was a mix of a
couple of the animals we know today. It was a variety of a Panda, a Dragon, a Fish,
and a Unicorn. It had many adaptations within its peculiar features. The first
adaptation was spiky wings with shiny fish scales that allowed the Pandra to fly,
but also allowed it to swim by spinning it s wings as propellers through the water. It
s wings also hurt predators by spiking them when they come near. It s fur is
waterproof, soft, and thin because it lives in a very humid and wet environment.
The Pandra also has a unicorn horn that glows in the dark lagoon, so it can find it s
prey. Now that we have become familiar with this creature, let s take a look into a

Modern Day Slavery In America
America imports almost 90 percent of its seafood, so it s not a surprise that some of
that comes from Thailand, the world s third biggest exporter of seafood. What might
surprise you is that modern day slaves scattered about the small Indonesian islands
caught a large portion of that seafood. From pet foodmanufacturers, to restaurants,
and supermarkets, many unsuspecting Americans and their pets are helping finance
slaveryand human trafficking.

Michelangelo Essay
In the time of the Renaissance there were many artists but one really stood out to
me, he was Michelangelo. He stood out the most to me because he had some of the
most beautiful work I have ever seen. He painted some of the most beautiful building
that is still around today. One of the most that I enjoyed looking at was the Sistine
Chapel in the Vatican. It took him a lot of time to paintthe entire building. I feel this
was his best piece of art ever. He had many accomplishments that were outstanding.
The second of five brothers, Michelangelo was born on March 6, 1475, at Caprese, in
Tuscany, to Ludovico di Leonardo di Buonarotto Simoni and Francesca Neri. The

Analysis Of The Book What Happy People Know
Everybody should be happy! But according to Dr. Dan Baker, happiness is a
relatively rare quality (6). He further states that it is even scarcer now than it was
in earlier, less affluent times (6). But why are so many people so unhappy? In his
book titled What Happy People Know , Dr. Baker reveals what years of research and
personal clinical findings has taught him about the lack of happinessin America.
People are afraid of failing, not being enough, or not having enough which triggers
the fight or flight response within them. As a result, countless look for ways to
prevent these fears from becoming reality and in the process fall into what Dr.

Bonnie desperately needed a positive self concept, or she would soon die. Her fear
of not being enough had led her to feeling that she was too fat, and that she was a
crummy student and a loud mouth (74). Because of her fear of being overweight,
she had stopped eating meats, grains, vegetables, and finally drinking water. Now
she was lying in a hospital bed due to severe hydration. She became greatly alarmed
and horrified when her stomach was distended as her attendants pumped nutrients
and fluids into her (74). Eventually, through the means of Bonnie s dog, Dr. Baker
was able to convince Bonnie that she should not starve herself just as she would
not starve her dog. Through her love for her dog, Bonnie s love for herself began to
grow, her fear subsided, and the language she used to describe her life began to

Similarities Between Navajo And Hopi
The perception of evil for the Navajo and Hopi widely differs from what our
culture believes. To us, you can either be good or evil but not both. We see a split
and think that a person is just bad, whereas the Navajo and Hopi cultures have views
that are less severe to the individual in question. The Navajo believe that what
distinguishes good from evilis control, because acts can be both good and evil. When
something has little ability to be controlled by man, the situation has a higher
likelihood of being evil. Additionally, the Navajo don t see evil as being a kind of
negative moral corruption or an ethical problem. Instead, they see evil as being a
realistic event, like death, illness, droughts, or famines, because these events can t be
controlled. When there is not control that is when evil prevails. In... Show more

Unlike our culture, which see s evil as a punishment or retaliation, the Hopi see s

way for there to be a break in the universe is if an individual dislikes some aspect of

Breaking the universe can occur when someone take more food than they need or
if they are not being generous enough with what he does have. When the universe
needs to be restored because evil has occurred, the Hopi individual must first

Trichotillomania is a psychological disorder, resulting in an individual having an
overwhelming urge to pull their hair out. The individual may either intentional pull
the hair out or it may be the result of unconscious behavior. Hair is pulled from the
scalp, eyebrows, arms, legs, pubic area and/or any other area on the body where there

The method for pulling hair out, is typically done with the fingers, however, some
individuals will use items such as tweezers, for removing the hair. The crown area of

The individual with trichotillomania will often display an increase in tension or
stress, immediately prior to pulling hair. They will also have a display of
gratification or pleasure as well as relief during and after pulling out the hair.
Psychological Effects
There is often a tremendous amount of shame and/or guilt associated with the
symptoms, as well as the after effects (the baldness), of this diagnosis that it is often
unreported. The low percentage of reports also result in lack of treatment. These
individuals tend to perform their hair pulling behaviors in private. The majority of
these individuals feel as though they are the only ones with this problem. They will
often wear hats, scarves and wigs, or style their hair in a fashion that will not bring
attention to the loss of hair.
A decrease in social interactions often occurs, due to the embarrassment the
individual feels from the noticeable hair loss. It is not uncommon for individuals
with this diagnosis to become depressed, anxious and/or develop low self esteem.
Though the individual may not have previously been diagnosed with a mental illness,
the effects of the trichotillomania will often lead to them seeking help for the
depression and/or anxiety.
The Negative Effects Of Technology In Modern Society
Throughout the past couple decades, cell phones and laptops have become a large
part of daily life for most human beings. In fact, in today s society it is rare to find
someone who does not own some sort of cellular device. Although technology has
many useful perks, it is beginning to deteriorate our society s social skills and
social life. Teenagers in today s world are too digitally connected, and this brings
along the negative effects of a decrease in real life conversation, increased laziness,
and more distractions in a number of different environments. The increased use of
technology in modern society is leading to a decrease in real life conversation. In
The Negative Impacts of Social Media on Face to Face Interactions, it states, Since
it has become more prevalent, social media has made people have a tendency to
want to interact with people online rather than in person because it has made the
process simpler. From my own experiences, this is true. I have seen multitudes of
my friends struggle to interact with others in person because they have become so
used to texting them. As texting becomes normal for more people, having real life
conversations will become more awkward and difficult because they are not
practicing that skill. Due to teenagers being too digitally connected, there has been
an increase in laziness. Because technology does a lot of the work for this
generation, there has been a decrease in doing things the old fashioned way. In the

automated process, which involves ability to type on QWERTY keyboards and

some bloggers, weblog can serves simply as a space for daily journals or a quick

Discuss family culture and its effect on patient education.
The role and definition of family can vary from one culture to another. Generally
speaking, the culture in the United States places a lot of emphasis on individuality
and personal freedom. In many cultures, the family unit has a very strict and
defined hierarchy. Often the Father is seen as the head of the household and is
responsible for much of the decision making. This can include decisions
concerning the health care of a family member. It could also result in reluctance for
the head of the family to place himself in a position of relying on others for care, a
perceived position of weakness. In many cultures, the family goes beyond the nuclear
family, and extends to the community, friends and neighbors. These are strongly held
beliefs, and we must refrain from judging them as right or wrong based on our own
culture. Rather, weneed to find ways to work within the framework of the family

The Development of Trade Unions in Britain Essay
The Development of Trade Unions in Britain There are many different factors as
to why trade unions developed so incredibly slowly in Britain. The problems
started from the 1850s when New Model Unions were introduced. The ASE
(Amalgamated Society of Engineers) had been formed in 1851 and had become
the inspiration for other unions in similar areas of craftsmanship to be formed.
Many people liked the idea of a union because it gave them certain protection like
that of wages and standards of living and benefits for ill and unemployed members
and so joined a union which appealed to them. One of the first setbacks which was
unnoticed for some time was the fact that these New Model Unions had entry... Show

Some unions experienced difficulties in regard to their funds being stolen by
treasurers or members and the realisation that their funds were not 100% legally
protected because they were in restraint of trade which meant that funds were not
protected by the Friendly Societies Act. Societies registered under the Act were
accused of acting too much like a union and funds were not covered because
unions were liable to strike. On the plus side, the formation of the Royal
Commission on Trade Unions was set up in the late 60s which turned out to be a
great advantage to Trade Unions because of the Minority Report created by
Frederic Harrison, Thomas Hughes and the Earl of Lichfield. They argued that
trade unions should be given privileged legal status and Harrison proposed several
changes to the law : 1) People who joined should not be liable for indictment for
conspiracy unless their actions would be criminal if committed by a single person;
2) The common law doctrine of restraint of trade in its application to trade
associations should be repealed; 3) That all legislation dealing with specifically with
the activities of employers or workmen should be repealed; 4) That all trade unions
should receive full and positive protection for their funds and other property. Funds
later became protected under the 1871 Trade Union Act which meant that court action
could be used if necessary.
Disadvantages Of Attending College
The concept of attending college is becoming more relevant throughout the
progression of one s adolescent years. Some have had the notion of being able to
acquire and maintain good grades in order to attend a prestige university established
as early as elementary school. College has become the representation of enhancing
one s education and leading them to success lifestyle, because of this millions of
students attending college, either community college or university, every year with
the amount increasing at a rapid pace. Although education is the primary reason
students attended college for, not only do they gain an advantage over those who
had not had the similar opportunity but as well as an irreplaceable connection to
other students and unforgettable experiences; adding a great deal of value for
attending college. The primary reason why college has become of such high value
in our society is due to the advantages it presents to its former/current students when
applied into the real world. Based on a recent study conducted by Pew Research
Center, college graduates, ranging from ages 25 to 32, working full time earn
approximately $17,500 more annually compared to those with only a high school
diploma (PEW). An increased salary has become the most notable and desirable
reward of achieving a college degree. As more students commence to attend colleges
and are able to obtain degrees of value the wage gap will continue to increase. With

The Cost leadership strategy aims for the business to have a low price product
being the lowest cost producer. The differentiation strategy involves the
development of high quality unique product or services which is usually priced
high. Focus is the third generic strategy based on competitive scope. A focus
strategy targets narrow segment of domain of activity and tailors its products or
services to the news of that specific segment to the exclusion of others. (Exploring
Corporate Strategy, 2012). An example of a company that currently follows the
cost leadership strategy is Ryanair. Ryanair Ltd is an Irish low cost airline based in
Dublin Airport with operational bases at Dublin and London Stansted Airports. The
airline has been characterised by rapid expansion, a result of the deregulation of the
aviation industry in Europe in 1997 and the success of its low cost business model.
Although initially this strategy was used to gain competitive advantage over
competitors, their success has seen the emergence of approximately 60 new low cost
airlines. As Porters generic strategy model states that a company has to choose one of
these strategies and try not to combine both strategies it meant that other companies
could try to emulate their success by employing the same strategy and an example of
companies that have done this is EasyJet and Aer Lingus. However later on in Porters
career he understood that are some circumstances
The Hierarchy Of Structure And Agency
There is a constant debate about the primacy of structure or agency in forming human
behavior in the social science. Carlsnaes (as cited in Hay, 1995) claimed that the
problem of structure and agency is ... the central problem of social and political
theory . Radically, the agency structure problem is an ontological problem which is
related to the nature of structures, agents and their correlations (Wight, 2003). There
are four influential positions in the structure agency debate: structuralism,
intentionalism, structuration theory and critical realism (Hay, 1995). In his book,
structuralism emphasizes the dominance of structure rather than agency on behavior.
It is a structure centered approach, arguing that structures constrain and even
determine agency in the relationship between structure and agency. However,
intentionalism highlights the agents in explaining behavior. It is an agency centered
approach that regards structures as the product of intentional acts. Structuration
theory presents a developed attempt to transcend the dualism in which structure and
agency are connected externally. It argues for the duality of structure . Critical
realism is based on a dialectical cognizance of structure and agency, striving to
overcome the dualism of the two. It links to strategic relational approach . This essay
will argue that structure and agency is a dialectical unity of relationship, and they
entail and affect each other. In exceptional circumstances, they can be

only thing that the Africans kept was their religion. The Africans religious were

religious life was hidden from the slave master. The slaves had combined their

Characteristics Of The Anzac Legend
Australians fought in many wars, but the most successful war was thought to be the
war to end all wars (World War One). The Anzacs had experienced many hardships in
this horrific war; special qualities were developed throughout the war such as
endurance, mateship and courage. On the 25th of April the birth of the Anzac legend
had risen. As they charged into enemy territories, in the early morning of the 1900s,
they were destined to succeed despite the raining gun fire by the Turkish soldiers.
Mateship, courage and endurance gradually strengthened deeper into the war; as a
result, no one could take away these three imperishable qualities. Many historical
records show many different perspectives about the Anzac legend. As a nation, we
look upon three main attributes that the Anzacs had demonstrated courage, mateship
and endurance. Therefore, the Anzac legacy continues to prosper in its purpose to
motivate the modern Australian society. As the war progressed, Australian troops
made trenches; this protected them from gunfire. On the other hand diseases were
introduced such as the trench foot. Having a trench foot was painful, swollen
conditions caused by feet remaining wet for too long; if gangrene (progress) set in,
the feet would have to be amputated (Darlington, 2012). This shows determination,
which the Anzac possessed regardless of the dangers that may happen. These hard
conditions that the Anzacs had faced are also reflected in an extract from Eric

The Causes And Consequences Of The Vocide Of Native
Americans
Christopher Columbus was a man who led an expedition in which he discovered the
lands of America in the late 1400s. He and his fellow Europeans had traveled to
different lands before where they overthrew native peoples with a mission to spread
their own religion and an attitude of superiority. The Indians had never before
encountered people of a different culture. Although the two parties were of the same
species, they were vastly different in language, clothing, technology, and lifestyle.
When the Spaniards first arrived, they were unthreatened by the Indians and looked at
them with a strong sense of condescension. The Indians, on the other hand, welcomed
these strangers and bestowed generous gifts upon them. The Spanish thought the
Indians were foolish and were not as generous in their reciprocation of such gifts.
However as the encounterprogressed, the Spaniards became more threatened by the
Indians. Because of this, they antagonize the entire race of people. They believe
they are all evil and less human. They respond to their actions with great violence
and contempt, while stripping the Indians of their dignity. The Indians, in turn, react
defensively, also with violence (Todorov). After decades of conflict, the exchange
ultimately results in the complete genocide of the Indian population. In this
particular encounter, there exists two parties, both of the same species but with
great differences. There is also one party, the Spaniards, aware of the others
existence and that actively pursued this encounter. The Indians, however, were
unaware that other societies and worlds existed beyond their own and were
sabotaged by the surprise arrival of the Europeans. The conquistadors had previous
encounters with other people different from their own. From these prior
experiences, they had expectations to come to America and use its resources and
people to their own advantage. They had also already established through previous
endeavors, that groups and races of people different from their own could not be
seen as equals. They identify these groups as Others, that are inferior and less
intelligent (Todorov). This already creates a dilemma referred to as the double
movement. If Columbus and the Europeans sought
Analysis Of The Era Of Postmodernism
Throughout the history of man, human beings impose form and order on all aspects
of life in order to reassure themselves there is a grand design behind life s seeming
uncertainty. Evidence of this desire are social constructions such as religion and
time. However, the strong need to understand the word through concrete systems is
also seen in smaller details of daily life, such as fictionnovels. The average person
enjoys realistic fiction, or fiction that mirrors what one perceives as the the human
experience. One method that fiction uses to enforce this desired reality is the use of a
single overarching storyline, or metanarrative. The era of Postmodernism upended
this notion that a novelshould only have one grand metanarrative, and this upending
is based in a reality closer to one s lifespan where experiences are not singular or
linear, but an amalgam of events and memories which overlap, shift priorities, and
transcend strict chronological time. Two Postmodern novels that challenge the
concept of a single metanarrative by including various micronarratives, employed to
confuse what story takes precedence over the other, are Vladimir Nabokov s Pale Fire
and Italo Calvino s If On a Winter s Night a Traveler. Nabokov employs the concept
of intertextual conversation between different sections of the book in Pale Fire
while Calvino makes use of the reader s self awareness of their role as an active
participant in the reading of If On a Winter s Night a Traveler to

before. Well it tells us, however bad is the background, however pitiful is the past
experience; overpaid salary is not an excuse to allow footballer earns such big money.
Short Career
If we talk about the invidual with big revenue, the field which pops out of our
mind is athlete and entertainment. Movie star and singer earn more money than
any athlete in the world but that is where the logic is distorted once again. The
celebrity could still earn money through advanced years while the case isn t the
same for athlete. Al Pacino is currently one of the senior actor and he still could live
himself from film industry for 40 years since his debut in tender age. Paul McCartney

Song Of Solomon Literary Analysis
The Song of Solomon is one of the most overlooked books in all of the divine
canon. For hundreds of years, the Song of Solomon has been sidelined by Bible
interpreters. So why has this book, this one book in particular, been tossed to the
side by many people and cultures? The Song of Solomon has been discarded by
many Christians for a few reasons. Some of these reasons include risquГ© language,
unusual themes, and strange metaphors. All of these things tie into the nature of the
Song of Solomon as love literature. These things do not detract from the beauty or
meaning of the Song of Solomon. Instead, they enhance the meaning of the Song
and really drive home the typological elements of the story of the Song of Solomon.
So what is the meaning of the Song of Solomon? Throughout Christian history, there
have been three main interpretations of the Song of Solomon. The first
interpretation is called the literal interpretation, in which we view the subjects of
the Song as merely a man and his wife. The second view on the Song of Solomon is
one I like to call the allegorical interpretation, in which the subjects are viewed as
Yahweh and Israel. The third and final interpretation of the Song of Solomon is what
I like to call the typological interpretation. In this view, Solomon and the Shulamite

When you look at this within the context of Luke 24:27, Jesus believed all scripture
pointed to himself. Seeing that Jesus is God, this statement cannot be taken lightly.
Therefore, if Jesus showed them in all the scripture things pertaining to himself, then
all scripture pertains to him. Now that we have made that case, we must begin to
unfold the typological interpretation, and in order to do that, we must lift from the
text things that allow us to tell the

Dreams and Dreaming Essay
Throughout history, numerous people have studied the human body and its many
functions. One area of the body that causes much confusion and controversy is the
mind. Many parts of the brain baffle scientists, but a specific aspect of the mind that
is fascinating and puzzling is dreams and their functions. It is surprising that an
average person dreams for at least six years of their life, but scientists still do not
know the role of dreaming (Shaw). Several theories have been presented to provide a
reason for dreaming, and attempt to explain what most do not understand. Although
dreamresearch has been prominent lately, no agreement has been reached on which
theory is correct on the purpose of dreams. Some believe that dreams are only... Show

While sleep patterns and cycles seem to be agreed upon by most scientists, the
scientists theories of why dreams occur are far from being in agreement. One of the
most famous dream theories is from Sigmund Freud. As the father of psychoanalysis,
Freud believed every aspect of our lives is influenced by our subconscious mind.
His basic belief is that our dreams are representations of our unconscious desires.
According to Freud, we have many secret desires that are censored from the
waking mind; Therefore, these desires emerge to realization in our uncontrolled
dreams. As we dream, our wishes that could not take place in reality are fulfilled in
our dreams. His theory is mainly based on sexual longing, especially in the
explanation of what symbols stand for. He believed that dreams did not actually
mean what they appear to be on the surface. Freud described dreams as having
manifest content and latent content. Manifest content is the story or images that
actually happen in the dream. Latent content is the unrevealed psychological
meaning. It is in the latent content that the sexual symbols are revealed. He
believed that almost everything in a dream could be interpreted through our sexual
desire. Freud s overall theory said that Wish fulfillment is the meaning of each and
every dream, and hence there can be no dreams besides wishful dreams
(Napierkowski). Freud s theory is very popular since he is a more notably recognized

What Is The Theme Of 2br02b By Kurt Vonnegut
Could you imagine a world where everything is perfect? A place where people don
t age and live over one hundred years? In his short story 2BR02B, Kurt Vonnegut
tells about a utopian Earth, with no wars, famine, poverty, or prisons. But the
utopia he describes slowly turns into a dystopian world, as in order to keep the
population under control, a person must die for a newborn baby to live. Therefore,
the theme of this story is beauty is only skin deep. After reading this, can you still

  • 1. Essay Mania Crafting an essay on the subject of "Essay Mania" can prove to be a challenging endeavor, as the very essence of the topic suggests a heightened state of enthusiasm and fervor for the act of essay writing itself. The irony lies in the fact that attempting to encapsulate the essence of this mania within the confines of a structured essay can be a perplexing task. The inherent complexity arises from the abstract nature of the concept. "Essay Mania" implies an intense passion and perhaps a frenzied devotion to the art of essay composition. Yet, translating this fervor into coherent paragraphs and well-organized arguments becomes a delicate balancing act. How does one eloquently convey the exuberance that accompanies the process of essay writing without succumbing to the pitfalls of hyperbole or monotony? Furthermore, the challenge lies in avoiding clichГ©s and platitudes. A clichГ©d exploration of "Essay Mania" risks turning the essay into a mere exercise in stating the obvious, undermining the very essence of the topic. Balancing originality with a clear and compelling narrative becomes crucial in navigating this intellectual landscape. The very act of attempting to articulate the frenzy of essay composition may, in itself, evoke a sense of mania within the writer. In conclusion, while exploring the theme of "Essay Mania," the writer faces a multi-faceted challenge that extends beyond the conventional complexities of essay writing. • 2. Preventing the export of conflict diamonds in the... Preventing the export of conflict diamonds in the Democratic Republic of the Congo The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has large reserves of cobalt, gold, gems, copper, timber, and uranium. However, the most valuable resource that the DRC possess is its large reserve of diamonds. Diamonds essentially serve as a pillar to the DRC s struggling economy. Plagued by civil unrest, the DRC is desperately trying to stabilize its economy. Their efforts have been met with stiff resistance due to the ongoing civil war and illegal diamond trade. Not only is the DRC losing potential revenue from the illegal mining of diamonds, but also these diamonds are being used to finance the rebel armies. In response, the U.N. has drafted several ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The exploitations of the land began when King Leopold declared all unoccupied land owned by the state. This move gave him exclusive rights to the lucrative trade in rubber and ivory. Soon afterwards, private companies were formed to exploit the natural mineral wealth of the Congo. Along with the exploitation of the land, the people were forced into slave labor. Natives were brutally forced to collect rubber and mine for minerals. Under the agreement with King Leopold, Belgium annexed the Congo in 1908. Under Belgian rule forced labor was gradually phased out. However, the Congo was still perceived by the Belgian government as merely an economic investment. Very few if any initiatives were established in order to promote the economic development of sectors important to the welfare of the native people. The economic developments that were initiated were directly related to the exploitation of the land. Railroads and other forms of transportation were developed in order to increase the profits of the Belgian government. Plantations and large mining operations were formed with native people occupying the labor pool. Along with exploiting the Congo s natural resources, the Belgian government also established Christian missionaries in order to civilize the natives. As a result, many Congolese citizens were educated at the secondary level or higher. These same people would eventually protest
  • 3. The Executive Compass and Its Relation to the Good Society The executive compass and its relation to the good society The search for a good society was of intense interest in the past and continues to be of interest to many researchers even now . Many philosophers in their own minds have coined a series of utopian views for which has been much debated in the pursuit of a good society. The major ideologies propounded by such philosophers include Liberalism, Conservatism, Socialism, Anarchism, Nationalism, Fascism, Feminism, Ecologism, Religious Fundamentalism and Multiculturalism. All of these ideologies have argued in one way or the other in support of or against either of the elements contained in James Otoole s executive compass which includes equality, efficiency, community and liberty. In view of this, the first part of the paper seeks to highlight the many different views of the good society propounded by many political ideologies in relation to the executive compass. The second part answers why the invisible hand does not seem to be working and how the tensions between liberty and efficiency can be resolved under the invisible. Finally, the paper will analyze what I would do to contribute to the creation of a good society. Liberty Liberty is derived from the Latin word liber which means a class of free men; in other words men who are neither serfs nor slaves and is greatly linked to the ideas of freedom and choice (Heywood, 2012). The whole idea of liberalism is driven by the pursuit of individualism in which people are

Traditions of clothing and accessories worn depend on gender and age. The women traditionally wear saris that cover most of their body and a bindi dot. A sari is a large piece of beautiful cloth that is wrapped to form a dress and a bindi dot is a red dot placed in between the eyebrows that represents unity and the sacred symbol of the cosmos. Men usually wear loose tunics and pants. These clothes are mostly worn because of the hot and humid climate standard to India and other regions where Hinduismis largely practiced. Colors and their meanings are also very important in regards to Hinduism s attire. Red is usually worn by a bride to
  • 5. Shy Species Preferred Seahorse Habitats Terms of Reference Background Seahorses are an iconic, shy species that have become adapted to live in a variety of habitats. They have the ability to camouflage and a prehensile tail that can only be forcibly unlocked in the most extremes of weather. They have the ability to grow and reabsorb spiny appendages on their body, depending on the habitat they live in. The seahorse male is the only male animal in the world to have a true, full pregnancy. There are two species of Seahorse in the British Isles, the spiny seahorse (Hippocampus guttulatus) and the short snouted seahorse (Hippocampus hippocampus); both widely distributed and both specialising in differing habitats due to subtle differences in the shape of the snout and body and their dietary needs, although they can also be occasionally found in the same habitat together (Garrick Maidment 2004). Seahorses are typically found in pairs, once they have migrated back into shallow waters from their deeper, winter refuge. They are normally observed in shallower water of 2 meter (m) as the sea temperature warms up to 9 ВєC or more (Garrick Maidment, 2013), they then form... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since the analysis of presence only data is a problem in determining the species distribution and accurately determining population sizes, more exploratory analysis and investigation of selected sites will be undertaken to see why some of the preferred habitats have no records of sightings (lack of survey, under reporting or poor environmental condition, for example). Hence, logistic regression for presence and absence is one option while Generalised linear model (GLM) prediction using regression analysis is another alternative for continuous data (such as sightings
  • 6. Entire Sanctification Definition Man was created in the image of God, imago Dei. Man was created for love and to love God. Man knew truth and happiness. God did/does not want to force us into relationship and so He gave us free will. Adam and Eve exercised this free will in the garden and they fell from grace; the fall. Adam rejected the moral law that has three uses (to show sin in the world; to bring man to Christ; to keep man alive). The moral law is right and good concerning all things. The moral law shows us that we must keep close to Christ and we will keep close to the law. It is in Christ that we find freedom from the law. Wesley instructs that believers must keep the moral law to grow deeper in God s grace. Adam also rejected the presence of God. In this place man... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We are babies, born again, and as we mature in faith we move closer to the likeness of Christ. Assurance to Wesley was the belief that man could know they were saved. Wesley did not use the word conversion a lot. It is when a person goes from being a child of the world to a child of God. This occurs due to a person s response to prevenient grace. Once a person realizes they are in need of God and have sin in their lives they are led to repentance. At this moment the person is justified. This is evident when regeneration occurs and the person is born again. All of this is a gift from God. This all begins the process of sanctification. A person then is aware of sin in their lives and the battle it brings and wants to continue to be in the peace of God that comes at justification. Repentance and the works suitable for repentance fills the person s life. It is the acts that causes the person to know they need Christ. Being in a regenerated state, a complete renewal of the inside, the person moves into being an Altogether Christian, totally committed to God and relationship with Him. The Spirit of Adoption is present in the life of the person. Praise the
  • 7. How Many Times Have You Heard Someone s Survival, Wedding... Family Stories How many times have you heard someone s survival, wedding or birthing story? (Please keep in mind, unless you are asked to explain a birthing story please do not freely discuss them. Too many people want to discuss intimate information with others.) Notably, families all have family stories typically survival, wedding or birthing stories that accumulate over time (Shelley). I have acquired an assortment of family stories from my family of origin as well as my family of procreation, but I do not go around telling just anyone. However, as per this assignment I will discuss a personal family story. One of my earlier procreated family stories is from the summer of 2008. Jack and I had been together for three years and had a one year old son. We were renting a house in Spring Branch, about five miles from my mom s house. He was working in Beaumont and had an apartment that the company paid for and at the time, he did not have a roommate co worker.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We all agree to try to make it home and head back towards Houston. His apartment was off of Major near Hwy 105 Conroe. We took this all the way to Conroe with very little traffic. I do not remember exactly how long it took us to get back but, I know it was nothing near the amount it would have taken us if we would have tried to take I 10. Thankfully, we made it home safely. However, we went without electricity for an entire month after the hurricane was over and done. The significance as to why I chose this particular family story is because it is one of my favorite adventures. Furthermore, my best friend who was with us, Vince, past away four years ago and this is one our many escapades together. My family story probe has reflected one of my many experiences of survival. Communication skills are expressed throughout my family involvements during hurricane Ike, summer of 2008. What is your survival
  • 8. The Self Esteem Of Children During The Primary Grades Of... The objective my project was to positively influence the self esteem of children in the primary grades of two areas of Panama City. As a future early childhood teacher, I have learned it is important to find classroom activities that build the self images of students, while creating a respect for individual differences and future goals (Lawrence, 2006, p. 101). High self esteemcorrelates positivity with the academic achievements of students (Kaniuka, 2010, p. 184). Community partners indicated the need to help children build positive self images while promoting the academic goals of primary gradestudents. Our community partners have indicated that they believe such an initiative will serve to lower the drop out rates in schools within impoverished areas of Panama City. In addition, the Biblioteca of Mananitas, and Centro Educativo Marie Poussepin ( CEMP ) of Curundu has supported initiatives to increase home reading as a means to increase academic success. Lastly, community partners have expressed a desire to introduction children to English words at an early age to increase future employability across various economic sectors in Panama. In furtherance of all of these objectives, I developed a lesson plan that encouraged children to create an All About Me bookin both English and Spanish for the early primary grades of students in Mananitas and Curundu. Students in kindergarten through the third grade at the Biblioteca of Mananitas, as well as the Kindergarten and first
  • 9. A Graveyard in Asheville For this journal review, I have decided to do a graveyard in Asheville which is very well known. The cemetery Riverside Cemetery has existed since 1885 and was built by the Asheville Cemetery Company and in 1952 was sold to the City of Asheville. For this review I ll be focusing on the various styles of graves seen throughout the cemetery, while also emphasizing the meaning of the different artistic symbols seen. I ll also make sure to note the significant graves and mausoleums that are home to some of the most descriptive artwork. The graveyard is home to more than 14,000 graves some of which carry important meanings or information. I believe graveyards are sacred art museums and while walking through one provides a much different experience, some similarities are important for us to see. The City of Asheville s Riverside Cemetery is located in Montford, less than 2 miles from downtown. It provides over 87 acres of grounds and is a protected tree area. Today the area operates under the City of Asheville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department. Looking through the various headstones, I can see many similarities among the different symbols. Looking past just the symbols we can see a level of intricate artwork laid down by the art of hand carving and engraving. Hand carving and engraving headstones is an ancient practice in which artists and craftsmen have formed extraordinary memorials from pieces of raw stone. The craft of engraving headstones over time
  • 10. Coming Of Age Story Soldier s Home Soldier s Home Is a Coming of Age Story Ernest Hemingway s Soldier s Home is a story of a soldier who returns from World War I as a completely different person. The story portrays his inability to adjust to his society and his home. He is with his family, but he feels that he doesn t belong there. Like various authors, Hemingway decides somehow to write a story about his life after the war through the character Harold Krebs. As much as Harold Krebs believes in truth, the society and the people around him force him to lie. People in the town don t want to hear about the battles, preferring instead lies about the heroics of the war. The war has dramatically changed him; he chooses isolation by detaching himself from love, social relationship, religion, and goal. Thus, soldier s home is a coming of age story. Off course, the scenes that he has encountered in the World War I, the blood, the death bodies; all the things he has done in the war traumatized him so that he loses his emotion. He remembers the French and the German women because relationships with them were uncomplicated and without any consequences. However, he mentions that He would have liked a girl if she come to him and not wanted to talk (Hemingway). He doesn t want to talk to her and doesn t want to attract her attention. Moreover, Krebs remains all the time sitting on the front porch feeling good enough to look at the girls on the street. So, by that way, he keeps his minds peaceful. Besides, he refuses the offers that his mom proposed to him to take his dad s car and to take a girl for a ride because he is still disbelieved that his dad would allow him to use the car

  • 12. Essay On The Failure Of Enron s Accounting System Failure of Enron s Accounting System The first failure of Enron is that it lacked a solid accounting information system. Instead, the firm adopted a concept called mark to market. This is where all accounting records of a company s assets were based on the prevailing market price. The failure of this system is that it allows the accountants to record the value of the assets and liabilities at any value. This orchestrates mass cover ups and conspiracy as revenues will be based on speculation and derivatives. In the end the financial statements produced are highly in accurate and do not show the true position of a corporation. For instance, through this accounting system Enron was able to show that its revenues were growing while in fact the revenues were non existent in the first place. A good case in point is the offshore partnerships opened by the CFO Andrew Fastow, and Enron official. The strategic offshore partnerships were used by Enron to project revenues that were reported in the company s financial statements (Seabury, n.d). Other deals such as the blockbuster live streaming movie using bandwidth technology was used to inflate the revenues of the company by recording projected revenues from such deals. In return, financial analysts gave the company s stock a higher rating based on projected revenues and derivatives. This explains why Enron was the golden goose for Wall Street prior to its collapse. From the above analysis it is apparent that the accounting information

Importance and Need of ETL ETL Process Extraction, Transformation, and Loading processes are responsible for the operations taking place in the back stage of a data warehouse architecture. In a broader aspect, initially the data is extracted from the source data stores which could be On Line Transaction Processing or Legacy system, files of any formats, web pages or any other documents like spreadsheets or text documents. In this step, only the data which is different from the previous execution of ETL process (newly inserted, updated) gets extracted from the sources. The interviewee does work in a creative environment, he does get to observe and investigate, and the use of technology plays a role. Also, his work does require some tedious tasks, which is one thing that was named as a strength. Also, I could theorize that this interviewee is at a level 3 in Holland s theory. I believe this to be true since he struggles with seeing himself making a job change. However, certain aspects of the theorized MBTI preference would not necessarily be in congruence. The fact that he does not feel like there is room for growth is one reason why his MBTI score might not fit well with what he is currently doing. • 20. Clostridium Difficile Is A Gram Positive, Anaerobic, Spore... Introduction Clostridium difficile is a gram positive, anaerobic, spore forming bacillus. In 1935 it was first described as member of the intestinal flora in healthy neonates [1] , and then in 1978 it was recognised as a cause of diarrhoea [2]. Today it is widely acknowledged as the leading cause of hospital acquired diarrhoea. This organism can cause a variety of diseases, from mild diarrhoea to severe pseudomembranous colitis, and collectively these are known as C. difficile infections (CDIs) [3]. It is known that the symptoms seen in patients infected with C. difficile are due to the toxins (toxin A and toxin B) that are produced by the organism [4]. Some strains of C. difficile seem to have an increased virulence which can be associated with increased severity, recurrence and increased mortality. This increased virulence is thought to be a result of increased expression of toxins A, B [5]. There is also another toxin produced by C. difficile known as binary toxin, this is also thought to contribute towards increased virulence [6]. A particular strain of C. difficile that does seem to have increased virulence is the strain known as PCR ribotype O27 or North American pulsed (NAP) field type 01. In Europe PCR ribotype O27 is the sixth most common ribotype [7], and new ribotypes are being detected that appear to have evolved from the O27 lineage [8], making the need for a method to demonstrate strain relatedness highly important. Public Space Research Paper The proactive exclusion of religious expression in the public space is in direct conflict with the conscious inclusion of said public expression during the first century in America. The premise of separation of church and state is the tool used by the offended to drive a wedge between the two. The religious freedoms our founders acknowledged as rights have allowed a rich mixture of diverse religions to be practiced independently of each other. However, these same freedoms have been misconstrued by an irreligious minority who use them as weapons to enforce their opinions, and chip away at the basic rights of the majority. Historically, religionand government have been tightly intertwined. Kings would often take on the role of Priests in addition to their stately duties, and governments would execute any citizen they deemed disrespectful to their chosen god. These rulings were typically made by the ruler, which led many to question the wisdom of state sponsored religion. As time passed, the first protests of this intermingling would be heard, and a time known as the age of enlightenment would soon emerge. The problems started from the 1850s when New Model Unions were introduced. On the plus side, the formation of the Royal Commission on Trade Unions was set up in the late 60s which turned out to be a great advantage to Trade Unions because of the Minority Report created by Frederic Harrison, Thomas Hughes and the Earl of Lichfield. They argued that trade unions should be given privileged legal status and Harrison proposed several changes to the law : 1) People who joined should not be liable for indictment for conspiracy unless their actions would be criminal if committed by a single person; 2) The common law doctrine of restraint of trade in its application to trade associations should be repealed; 3) That all legislation dealing with specifically with the activities of employers or workmen should be repealed; 4) That all trade unions should receive full and positive protection for their funds and other property. Funds later became protected under the 1871 Trade Union Act which meant that court action could be used if necessary.

Carlsnaes (as cited in Hay, 1995) claimed that the problem of structure and agency is ... the central problem of social and political theory . Radically, the agency structure problem is an ontological problem which is related to the nature of structures, agents and their correlations (Wight, 2003). There are four influential positions in the structure agency debate: structuralism, intentionalism, structuration theory and critical realism (Hay, 1995). In his book, structuralism emphasizes the dominance of structure rather than agency on behavior. It is a structure centered approach, arguing that structures constrain and even determine agency in the relationship between structure and agency. However, intentionalism highlights the agents in explaining behavior. It is an agency centered approach that regards structures as the product of intentional acts. Structuration theory presents a developed attempt to transcend the dualism in which structure and agency are connected externally. It argues for the duality of structure . Critical realism is based on a dialectical cognizance of structure and agency, striving to overcome the dualism of the two. It links to strategic relational approach . • 39. Characteristics Of The Anzac Legend Australians fought in many wars, but the most successful war was thought to be the war to end all wars (World War One). The Anzacs had experienced many hardships in this horrific war; special qualities were developed throughout the war such as endurance, mateship and courage. On the 25th of April the birth of the Anzac legend had risen. As they charged into enemy territories, in the early morning of the 1900s, they were destined to succeed despite the raining gun fire by the Turkish soldiers. Mateship, courage and endurance gradually strengthened deeper into the war; as a result, no one could take away these three imperishable qualities. Many historical records show many different perspectives about the Anzac legend. As a nation, we look upon three main attributes that the Anzacs had demonstrated courage, mateship and endurance. Therefore, the Anzac legacy continues to prosper in its purpose to motivate the modern Australian society. As the war progressed, Australian troops made trenches; this protected them from gunfire. On the other hand diseases were introduced such as the trench foot. Having a trench foot was painful, swollen conditions caused by feet remaining wet for too long; if gangrene (progress) set in, the feet would have to be amputated (Darlington, 2012). This shows determination, which the Anzac possessed regardless of the dangers that may happen. These hard conditions that the Anzacs had faced are also reflected in an extract from Eric Rapkins s Dairy. Eric
  • 40. The Causes And Consequences Of The Vocide Of Native Americans Christopher Columbus was a man who led an expedition in which he discovered the lands of America in the late 1400s. He and his fellow Europeans had traveled to different lands before where they overthrew native peoples with a mission to spread their own religion and an attitude of superiority. The Indians had never before encountered people of a different culture. Although the two parties were of the same species, they were vastly different in language, clothing, technology, and lifestyle. When the Spaniards first arrived, they were unthreatened by the Indians and looked at them with a strong sense of condescension. The Indians, on the other hand, welcomed these strangers and bestowed generous gifts upon them. The Spanish thought the Indians were foolish and were not as generous in their reciprocation of such gifts. However as the encounterprogressed, the Spaniards became more threatened by the Indians. Because of this, they antagonize the entire race of people. They believe they are all evil and less human. They respond to their actions with great violence and contempt, while stripping the Indians of their dignity. The Indians, in turn, react defensively, also with violence (Todorov). After decades of conflict, the exchange ultimately results in the complete genocide of the Indian population. In this particular encounter, there exists two parties, both of the same species but with great differences. There is also one party, the Spaniards, aware of the others existence and that actively pursued this encounter. The Indians, however, were unaware that other societies and worlds existed beyond their own and were sabotaged by the surprise arrival of the Europeans. The conquistadors had previous encounters with other people different from their own. From these prior experiences, they had expectations to come to America and use its resources and people to their own advantage. They had also already established through previous endeavors, that groups and races of people different from their own could not be seen as equals. They identify these groups as Others, that are inferior and less intelligent (Todorov). This already creates a dilemma referred to as the double movement. If Columbus and the Europeans sought
  • 41. Analysis Of The Era Of Postmodernism Throughout the history of man, human beings impose form and order on all aspects of life in order to reassure themselves there is a grand design behind life s seeming uncertainty. Evidence of this desire are social constructions such as religion and time. However, the strong need to understand the word through concrete systems is also seen in smaller details of daily life, such as fictionnovels. The average person enjoys realistic fiction, or fiction that mirrors what one perceives as the the human experience. One method that fiction uses to enforce this desired reality is the use of a single overarching storyline, or metanarrative. The era of Postmodernism upended this notion that a novelshould only have one grand metanarrative, and this upending is based in a reality closer to one s lifespan where experiences are not singular or linear, but an amalgam of events and memories which overlap, shift priorities, and transcend strict chronological time. Two Postmodern novels that challenge the concept of a single metanarrative by including various micronarratives, employed to confuse what story takes precedence over the other, are Vladimir Nabokov s Pale Fire and Italo Calvino s If On a Winter s Night a Traveler. Nabokov employs the concept of intertextual conversation between different sections of the book in Pale Fire while Calvino makes use of the reader s self awareness of their role as an active participant in the reading of If On a Winter s Night a Traveler to

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While sleep patterns and cycles seem to be agreed upon by most scientists, the scientists theories of why dreams occur are far from being in agreement. One of the most famous dream theories is from Sigmund Freud. As the father of psychoanalysis, Freud believed every aspect of our lives is influenced by our subconscious mind. His basic belief is that our dreams are representations of our unconscious desires. According to Freud, we have many secret desires that are censored from the waking mind; Therefore, these desires emerge to realization in our uncontrolled dreams. As we dream, our wishes that could not take place in reality are fulfilled in our dreams. His theory is mainly based on sexual longing, especially in the explanation of what symbols stand for. He believed that dreams did not actually mean what they appear to be on the surface. Freud described dreams as having manifest content and latent content. Manifest content is the story or images that actually happen in the dream. Latent content is the unrevealed psychological meaning. It is in the latent content that the sexual symbols are revealed. He believed that almost everything in a dream could be interpreted through our sexual desire.
